Marcellus' offer to help her take a break had Liz very nearly break down in tears. Lunch sounded wonderful! "Really? You'd do that?" She asked, her eyes brightened with admiration and unshed tears. This man's kindness knew no bounds and he could only just begin to understand how much it meant to the young woman what he was offering her. This was how you made a friend for life. Everybody appreciates food! Belle seriously considered giving Novu a good kick even if he did try to avoid being in range for one. She scowled at the Onion Frog, then let out a heavy sigh. At least he was apologizing. And he stroked the Berry Pokemon's ego by reminding her that, accidents or not, she was beating up most of the things she came up against. "Hmph! Well, I guess it can't really be helped. There are only so many Rattata after all. I was bound to run out eventually." She mused, acting as though she'd had no trouble at all with the swarm. In fact, the Raticate she was kicking at the end had done a number on her and Liz and Marcellus' last=minute arrival saved her from being overwhelmed!

Liz let Marcellus lead at first, forgetting their destination was her home city of Goldenrod. To her credit, she had been through a lot in just a couple of days...The redhead stopped several times as Deja Vu was quickly turning into simple familiarity. Without thinking or relaying her choices to Marcellus, she started to wander off in the direction of her favorite restaurant she used to visit with her father before his passing. She still ate here from time to time, but it was a much less joyful occasion than it used to be. It was somewhere to eat. It still had some of her favorite dishes. Belle was distracted by Novu long enough to lose track of her trainer if Marcellus and his Bulbasaur lost her too. Liz was far more dangerous to lose in Goldenrod City than anywhere else in Johto. She knew exactly where she was going at any given moment. Once she decided on a course of action, she was already gone.

XXXXX Marcellus nodded to the red head with a calm smile. That was the reaction he wanted. Not only did it seem to cheer her up, and kinda focus her chaotic nature, she was thankful. He had gotten fairly tired of not being apprecated lately, so seeing her react to his idea was relief to the male. "Of course, It would do us all some good to have a full stomach." He added as he continued to make his way in his selected direction. Novu, fully believed Belle that she had been winning the entire time. The fruit queen scared him as much as Athena did, so even as she took the compliments Novu make sure to keep his distance. "Yeah... you beat them all up. Maybe you can take the rest before they are all gone for good..."The young bulb offered, still frightened from his criminal offense after shooting her with an energy ball. He was young, and wasn't exactly the smartest, so she could have easily convinced the bulb she was about to cause Rattata to be extinct.

XXXXX Novu began to scamper off after Marcellus, he knew better than to get too far away. Marcellus continued to walk as he made sure to find Liz the right restaurant. His previous attempt at winning both Liz and Julian ever with food did not go well at all, so he knew he was going to have to do it right this time. "Let me know if you've been to any of these restaurants. I believe I heard about a really nice one that should be right around here."Marcellus commented to the red head who had already long since drifted away. "It's been a while since we had a nice large meal, I have to say I'm rather excited."He admitted to the ghostly presence of Liz. Marcellus was so focused on finding his restaurant, he didn't look back at Liz who was now strangely quieter than usual. Novu however did look back, and notice her absence. He reached out and tapped Marcellus on the shoulder with an extended vine. Marcellus waved him off a few times as he continued to speak about the options he had remembered seeing. It wasn't until Novu wrapped a vine around his wrist to stop him, once he did Novu pointed back and shrugged with his vines. Marcellus scanned the road behind him and his shoulders slumped. Liz and Belle were long gone. They had gone quietly so Marcellus knew they most likely weren't in too much danger. He hoped at least. "Elizabeth"Marcellus called out, hoping they had just rounded a wrong corner. After a moment of no response, he let out a big sigh. "Elizabeth!" Marcellus called out as he began to retrace his steps. with her luck today he was concerned to leave her alone.

"Mmm, that smells good!" She exclaimed with a wide smile. She pointed to the restaurant that had drawn her and turned to...nothing. "Doesn't that one look great, Marcel--?!" No Marcellus, no Novu, even Belle was missing! "Oh, no..." She muttered softly. Tears welled up again, this was just not her day. Marcellus had promised to buy lunch! Now she was--walking right back toward where she had been. Good news! Liz was not lost! Bad news! She had no idea where the others were! She just so happened to go walking right by Marcellus while he was facing a different direction. In spite of Novu and Belle being with him to help find her, Liz just walked along in search of something Fate just didn't want her to have!

Belle was happily taking Novu's compliments and vaguely fearful admiration...until she noticed the silence. Following Novu and Marcellus' gaze into a distinct lack of red hair caused the Fruit Pokemon to crack the pavement under her foot when she stomped. "You have to be KIDDING ME!" Shouted Belle, pivoting twice in desperation to find her trainer. A second stomp and the damaged street rumbled momentarily as larger chunks that had survived the first hit now cracked under the fresh impact. She glowered at Novu momentarily, like somehow it was the sweet little Bulbasaur's fault. "Can you believe this?! That IDIOT is out getting herself into trouble! AGAIN!" Bellowed the fruit, looking around quickly for a place to start climbing. Liz was easier to spot from above. Even she couldn't hide in Goldenrod City...or so Belle thought. Liz's Tsareena huffed aloud, looking around again, then zeroing in on Novu. "Hey! You! C'mere!" She was aggressive and quite clearly manic, but instead of having a threatening aura like normal, Belle looked fidgety. She was demanding help but she wasn't exhibiting her usual sense of strength. He wouldn't come closer if she was making him think she might try to kick him. She gestured upward quickly in case the little Bulbasaur was unsure what to do about her. "I need up." She explained quickly, hoping to take advantage of the little guy's vine expertise to get high enough to spot Liz.

Briar Bellerose

The fair hadn't exactly been what Briar had expected but it wasn't all bad. She had made her first friend! Meeting new people had been expected but she had assumed she wouldn't make any friends for a while- if at all. After arriving in Goldenrod City, she had separated from him temporarily to explore a bit. She would meet up with Thomas again later (or whenever he caught up with her). She hoped she wouldn't end up getting lost before then. Goldrenrod City was massive. She planned on going through Goldenrod and heading to Violet City to take on her first gym. Eventually. The idea of a gym battle was still a bit too intimidating for her. There wasn't any reason to rush anyway. She wanted to spend some time bonding with her two new Pokemon companions. Slate was walking along side her on her right, glaring at anyone he felt was getting too close to his trainer. Briar had only just convinced him to try to be a little less hostile to her new friend. Rosalyn was riding along on the Fire Type's back. The Sobble was taking in her new surroundings with a look of awe. Johto looked nothing like Galar! She had no idea what to make of any of it. Briar had already formed a bond with Bidi. He was her closest companion. She wanted to become just as close with her other Pokemon.

Her first stop was the Pokemon Center purely so she could know where it was. Her Pokemon didn't need to see the nurse yet but she thought it best to know anyway. Wild Pokemon could be encountered anywhere. She wasn't sure how other trainers worked but she assumed she could run into them anywhere too.

Thomas and Briar appeared in Goldenrod City thanks to a little help from Lady. Thomas had insisted that she spend some time getting to see the City, but he was simply exhausted. He couldn't remember the last time he'd slept, and a good long nap was calling his name. So he watched her walk away, greatly admiring the view, and hoping that she would still be around when he woke. He couldn't have blamed her if she wanted to split from him as soon as possible... after all, he'd just been involved in the scene of a brutal stabbing and murder.

Sighing, he went off towards the Pokemon Center. He had his Pokemon looked over, but they hadn't been up to anything too dangerous. They were all still perfectly healthy. So he booked a room, locked the door, and passed out almost the moment his head hit the pillow. Those of his Pokemon who were still out of their Pokeballs watched him with sadness for a while before laying down to nap themselves. He'd been through so much in such a short amount of time. Of his current roster, only Lady knew how much he'd been through since leaving home.

Deciding to spend some time wandering the city after her trip to the Center had paid off. Briar didn't consider herself to be a lucky person so when she stumbled upon an Abra and managed to not scare it off she was pretty surprised. Getting to observe the cute Psychic Type was a treat for her. She watched it for around a minute before slowly backing away so it wouldn't have to Teleport. Before she could get too far, she bumped into Bidi. The Absol sat back on his hind legs and signed "catch it" to her. She was supposed to be a trainer now. A cute Abra would be perfect for Briar! The Arcanine next to her shook his head. An Abra was the exact opposite of intimidating. How could anyone take her seriously if she decided to send an Abra out to battle? Briar glanced over at the Pokemon. Somehow it still hadn't fled. After some consideration, she took out a Pokeball and threw it. Slate rolled his eyes as the Abra disappeared into the Pokeball. Briar didn't believe she would capture it. The Abra would break out of the ball and run away. At least then she could claim she had tried. The Pokeball shook once...twice...three times...then pinged and went still. "Did...did it work?" Briar stared at the Pokeball, afraid to go towards it. Slate ended up retrieving it for her. He dropped the Pokeball in her hand while she was trying to process that she had just caught a Pokemon. "That means it's ours now, right?" The Abra hadn't broken free so it was now part of her team? Her Sobble let out a little squeal and clapped her hands together. They had a new friend! A celebration was in order! "I caught a Pokemon." Briar blinked and stared down at the Abra's Pokeball. "I caught a Pokemon!" She smiled brightly and cheered along with Rosalyn. Briar was one step closer to feeling like an actual trainer!

Goldenrod City wasn't lacking in places to explore. Unfortunately Briar didn't have anywhere near enough energy to spend the day exploring. She wasn't sure how she wasn't totally drained already. There were still a couple of things she wanted to do before she headed back towards the Pokemon Center. A city as large as Goldenrod had to have a bookstore hidden away somewhere. She wanted to find a couple of books on training Pokemon. Making up as she went could only work for so long. She wanted to be a better trainer for her team. The search took a while longer than she had hoped it would. Navigating the crowded city was proving to be way more difficult than she would have liked. How easily she found what she was looking for in the bookstore more than made up for it. She wasn't entirely sure why she was surprised. Goldenrod City was a city with a Gym in it. Of course Pokemon related books would be popular. She managed to locate a couple of books on the basics of training Pokemon and, more importantly, a book on Fire Types specifically. Slate wasn't entirely sure what the cover of the book said but the color was enough to give the general theme away. She looked far too excited about the book.

Briar started to leave after paying for her books when she realized there was a cafe that shared the space with the bookstore. Any plans she had for after her trip to the bookstore went out the window at that point. She hoped that Thomas would still be at the Pokemon Center. A couple of treats wouldn't make everything that had happened at the fair better but she hoped that the momentary distraction would help. By the time she left the cafe Briar had spent more on assorted small cakes, cookies, and Pokemon treats than she had on her books. She had no idea what sort of foods Thomas liked so trying everything felt like the best approach.

Briar Bellerose

The return trip to the Pokemon Center was uneventful- something that Briar was quite thankful for. A short conversation with the nurse later and she had learned her new friend was still at the Pokemon Center. He had booked a room so Briar felt it safe to assume that he was resting. That was definitely a good thing. He had an incredibly stressful day. Briar settled down in a corner of the lobby farthest from the door. She didn't want to be in the way of anyone that might need to visit the nurse. Instead of sitting in one of the chairs, she waited for Slate to settle down on the floor before laying back against him. The Arcanine was soft, warm, and safe. Out of all of her Pokemon, Slate needed the most attention. The Arcanine had been through a lot. She glanced at Slate, who was being walked through different signs by Bidi. The Absol was trying to help Slate learn to communicate with their trainer better. Briar smiled and turned her attention back to her book. Aside from the occasional soft sound of a page being turned, Briar's corner of the lobby was mostly quiet. At some point Briar ended up dozing off. Her Sobble curled up on top of the book in her lap, deciding it was the ideal place for a nap. Both Bidi and Slate remained awake and alert. All of the excitement from the past day had finally caught up to Briar. They would protect her while she got some rest.

But also he was concerned about losing Novu and Belle as well, now he was in charge of two grass types now. Marcellus didn't flinch or even react at the sound of concrete breaking or the sound of the shouting Tsarenna. frankly, Marcellus almost wished he could have joined in with her. Of course he would never dare, but he would definitely throw a fit if he wasn't so concerned about being so poised. They had gotten rid of the moody teen. They should be having a easy time now. "I don't understand how one loses Elizabeth." he voiced to himself. "Her hair is practically glowing."He ranted, as he made his way through the streets. "I don't exactly blind in either." He added, wondering how she could have lost him as well. adjusting the sleeve of his puffy shirt as he went, sliding them up to his elbows, causing them to puff out even more at the elbow. He glanced back to the two Pokemon he had with them, as he lead them back yhe street they came down.

XXXXX Novu stayed well outside of the fellow plant's reach. Novu seemed to have done it and soothed the beast. He used all of the knowledge he had learned from getting away from Angelique when she's in one of her bad moods. Just shower them with endless compliments and you were safe. However he sorely mistaken if he thought Belle was done. She began to shout again and stomp the sidewalk. This caused the Bulb to let out a yelp as he skittered to get away, he had done something wrong. Abort. He knew better than to trip Marcellus, so he ran to keep just behind the male as he kept his eyes on the fruit queen, Novu quickly learned that Belle was angry at Liz for getting lost not him, but it didn't make her any less scary. She then stomped another time breaking the concrete even more so, and demanded him to come over there. "I don't want to be stomped!" He shouted back like a scared kid in trouble. He was prepared to book it if she ran after him, but she seemed to calm ever so slightly and explain that she wanted a birds eye view with his vines. "Ooooh..."he replied, looking up the back to Belle. Novu didn't trust the queen all that much but it made sense. So he kept his distance from her just in case, but reached out far to the queen, and wrapped around her snuggly under her arms and began to lift her up. Novu was definitely much stronger than he looked, and more so than he even realized so he had no problem lifting Belle up into the air. He raised her about 10 feet in the air above him, as he walked behind Marcellus. He was lucky Marcellus was walking fairly slow, as he walked as steady as he could to keep the fruit queen steady. Marcellus looked back to his grass types just intime to see Belle lifted high in the air. This distracted him enough to miss Liz entirely as she walked past them. It was a good idea, he just wasn't prepared to see her so much above him. He approved of their idea, it might able her to see Liz that much quicker. Marcellus turned back to the street as they rounded the corner they came from.

Belle should have expected Novu to misunderstand, but she was too excited by the cooperation...and a little happy that he was scared enough of her to run and hide the moment she was upset. It made her think she was tougher than she was and could bully one of the others on Novu's team if she had to. Poor, naive little berry. Her triumph at Novu's willingness to help in exchange for not being kicked was short lived. "Good! Now lift me u--wh--hey, wait!" Belle was not excited to be carried like this! She squirmed still but avoided thrashing now that she was high enough. He was getting kicked when she got down from here!

Liz had managed to slide in under the Belle-dar having doubled back once more and just as funnily making her way right past her friend and Pokemon like it was perfectly normal for a Tsareena to be hoisted in the air and shouting threats...OK, it probably was, but she had one and she should've noticed that! "Where are those guys?" She whined, shaking her head. it was definitely her fault but Marcellus was going to get an earful anyway. Liz just needed to feel better about today and thus she would blame him to feel less terrible about herself for now. She just needed to find everyone, then take Marcellus to the restaurant, then there would be food! She looked around after getting out of sight of the group, then scowled. This was not where they were. Why was she looking here?! "Grr--MARCELLUS! BELLE! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS!" She shouted suddenly, causing a Poochyena to yelp and flinch away from her and making the young woman flinch herself. "Sorry! I'm just los--" And the Poochyena was gone. Yeah, she deserved that.

Briar's nap didn't last long. She woke up to Slate growling at another trainer that had gotten a bit too close to her for his comfort. After settling the Arcanine down, she apologized to the trainer and began getting her team together to leave the Pokemon Center. There would be trainers passing through often and she didn't want Slate to growl at all of them. Before leaving the Pokemon Center, she took a minute to look at the surrounding locations on her phone. There were some ruins not too far from Goldenrod that caught her attention. She had never been able to visit anything like ruins before and that could be a fun first for her. There were bound to be all sorts of fascinating Pokemon there too! It was the perfect opportunity for her to train her Pokemon a little bit before she took on her first gym. She wrote a note for Thomas and left it and the snacks she had bought for him with the nurse. The nurse would give them to him whenever he was up and about again.

"Going to go check out the Ruins of Alph.
Try to get some rest. Call or text me if you need anything!
I'll come right back.

Briar made sure to leave her number at the bottom of the note, just in case she had forgotten to give it to her earlier. She wouldn't put it past herself to forget. Once they were outside she decided to ask for Slate's permission to ride on his back. It was a silly impulse but she wanted to find out what it would be like to travel via Arcanine. The Fire Type thought it over for a few seconds before lowering himself enough to let her climb on his back. He wouldn't have to worry about her getting separated from them in the city that way. With that Briar and her little group were off to explore some ruins!

XXXXX Novu had only known how to lift someone up while holding onto them. He's only done so twice, Once for Marcellus and once for Josette. Both times they wanted to be lifted up by the waist. Both times were scary, Marcellus was scary because he could have gotten in trouble. Josette, it was back when she was still a Jynx. But sometimes she could be scary when she was mad. Belle, she was a whole different kind of scary. Belle could beat him up! Never mind all the battles he's won, she's loud and mean. Of course, she could beat him in a fight! Now she's lifted over his head and wiggling. He had his vines wrapped around the wide berry part of her waist, since it was the wide it part of her, he didn't want her slipping out. She continued to squirm, and despite Novu's fear, he knew if she fell, she would be even more scary. Novu wrapped his vines around her waist a little more, effectively seat belting her so she had more stability even as she squirmed. "Please don't kick me! I'll carry you anywhere you want to look!"He shouted frantically. He didn't think she would kick his vines too hard, but if she did, they both were going down one way or another. His only hope was if she considered him doing her a service by walking for her. He wasn't clever enough to think of this, especially not in his panicked state. Now he had forgotten Liz was gone, and all he could worry about was concerned about the fruit queen he was holding.

XXXXX Marcellus was either too distracted or too frustrated to care about the shouting that was going on behind him. Novu was fine, Belle was strong but he didn't have any doubts Novu could take her if it came down to it. He was considering his options here. Sure, he could call Cronus, but would he actually answer? Had she been in actual danger Marcellus was sure he would have already been here. While the two now long lost friends continued their search for each other, another pair seemed to make their way down an empty alley way. This pairing also consisted of a red headed female, and a light haired male. However, these two appeared to know exactly where they were going, while the male clearly was following along behind the female, visibly nervous and keeping closely. These two undoubtedly were wearing Team Neo-Rocket uniforms, at least the male was, but the female was wearing her own variation, but clearly displaying her pride for the team. "Now, I don't care what you have to do, I want that flash drive by tomorrow." she commanded as she continued to make her way through the back street. "We are so close to find out what happened-" She began, only to stop herself as a strangely dressed male entered the alley way with a bulbasaur holding a Tsarenna, and a smoochum. She eyed the male over, before angrily turning back to the grunt, and in one swift swing she hit him with her arm. "I thought you said you had cleared the street?" She questioned him angrily, before turning back to the strangely dressed male. "I wish you hadn't barged in, but it is not your lucky day." She commented, knowing she couldn't have been seen in her uniform in Goldenrod City. She pulled out a Pokeball as Brody did as well. "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Lets get rid of this guy." She replied, more than ready to do away with the male that made a wrong turn.

Liz scowled at the street, shaking her head as she tried to put together what she was missing. How did she lose track of Marcellus? This was Goldenrod City! She grew up wandering these streets! Goldenrod City's streets weren't the problem, though. She was navigating them just fine. It was Marcellus that had become the problem by not knowing where she was! Not being where she could find him again was not her fault! People were harder to figure out than streets! She began to fumble through her things in search of something to help her find Marcellus. She couldn't begin to guess what she was going to do once she found something vaguely helpful, but she was in luck! Vee's ball slipped off of her belt and bounced twice before releasing the Victini to let the young lady have a partner in her misery.

"Whatcha doin'?" Queried the Sprite, floating up over Liz's shoulder and staring down into the bag. "Trying to find Marcellus!" She snapped back, getting more irate the longer she searched. "I don't...is he in the bag?" Vee asked curiously. "No!" She cried, ruffling her fingers through her hair in frustration. She paused after getting ready to have a quick meltdown over how much today sucked. "You're Psychic." She muttered to herself, Vee blinking quizzically. "...Yes?" She gathered her mess of possessions and stuffed them back into her bag. "Get Marcellus! Call him! We'll go get him when you figure it out!" She clapped once and smiled brightly at her Victini, who was still processing what was being asked. Once his trainer clarified herself, he looked around, floated up into the air--because apparently he needed a vantage point to use his powers?--then did...exactly what Liz asked. To the extreme. "Mar-CEEELLLL-Us~!" The psionic cry rippled around the little Sprite momentarily before tearing across Goldenrod City. Liz grabbed her head and cried out while many people and Pokemon around her did the same. Some were able to respond and protect themselves with their own powers while the rest suffered. Vee didn't seem to notice the effect of his shout, floating down with a gleeful--vocal--cry once he got a response from Marcellus or one of his Pokemon. Mission accomplished! "This way!" He cried out, taking a moment to get his bearings before zipping off to hunt Marcellus. The Victini stopped when he came to the opposite side of the alley where the Neo-Rockets were menacing Marcellus. Liz came sprinting up behind Vee, shouting for her Mythic partner to slow down even though he had already stopped.

Vee looked confused, but he could feel the tension and a creepy-looking grin split his face. "Oh, are we gonna fight? Can she have that one?" Vee observed Marcellus as having first pick of the enemies since he was already here and they seemed to dislike him in particular. Brody was being treated like a consolation prize for Victini to encourage his new trainer with. She could take this loser! "C'mon, c'mon! It's time for a fight! Let's get to it!" He could barely contain his excitement and even went so far as to snatch Belle from Novu's vines even as the Tsareena yelped in outrage. Now Liz had two of her Pokemon ready to go, releasing a third--her Salandit--and preparing for the fight! "Marcell--?! Hey! I don't know what you creeps are up to, but you're not slithering your way out here!" She challenged the male, glaring even as her Tsareena was more focused on her Victini and threatening to kick him so hard his ancestors would bleed. Liz knew enough about Team Rocket to be angry now. She would yell at Marcellus for getting lost later. There was someone who deserved her wrath more.

XXXXX Marcellus continued to make his way to try and locate Liz. He was starting to fade from frustration to worry the longer she was left absent, and more importantly, unattended. Of course, she wasn't entirely helpless, but she was having a clear amount of bad luck here recently, and had the tendency for violence. The irony in that thought is Marcellus will soon fly into his own fight. As he rounded the corner, he was met with two individuals. He may not exactly know who they were, but it was very easy to figure out who they were affiliated with. His jaw tightened as she eyed them over. Josette was trying to locate Liz, but her psychic abilities weren't as precise as a smoochum, so she was having to take her time as Novu shuffled behind them, moving anywhere Belle told him to. Marcellus was seeing red already, they might not have been Team Rocket, but they were bad enough. "I just wanted a day of peace."Marcellus hissed angrily. Upon noticing the evil-doers Novu began to lower Belle. She clearly was a fighter; she should be on the ground to help fight! Novu didn't have or understand the vendetta that Marcellus had against Team Rocket, but he had encountered them enough to recognize their outfits. "These are bad people..." Novu warned the fruit queen. He definitely was still scared of her, but he knew then they were in danger he had to set aside fear. Marcellus stepped forward, ready to take action, when a shrill voice rang out across the city. The scream wasn't a sound exactly, it was a piercing psychic wave. The noise was almost enough to crumple the white-haired male. He clutched his head, trying to stop the screams. Having so many Psychic types, Marcellus was well aware of the use of psychic abilities. He just hadn't learned the voice of Victini yet. He looked back to Josette who was there to try and respond for him. "We're-ow.... We're over here!" The Smoochum called out in response in a shaky voice.

XXXXX "Well, now that that's over." Ariana groaned shaking her head and looking back to the male. Her voice instantly reignited his hate fire. He looked back to her, stepping forward again. "Of all days, you had to pick today."Marcellus commented his smooth voice full of ice. He waved forward Josette, which the opponent found laughable. "This isn't a contest." She called out, as she let out her Muk. Marcellus couldn't find himself to be intimidated by a ball of slime, but he could tell it was a strong and imposing ball of slime. But his hatred towards her wouldn't let him budge. Marcellus didn't respond to her, but he did call out to his Smoochum. "No holding back, Josette." He ordered, but he didn't have to tell her twice. She moved forward, but without a command the Muk stretched and swung one it's arms out and slammed it into Josette. The hard hit knocked her into the air and into the nearby wall. She grunted at the hit, but was up quickly, only to retch at the goo that stuck to her beautiful dress. Now she was mad too. Her dress fluttered around her in psychic winds as she began to lift the Muk off of the ground and flung it into the wall as well. It seemed to do about the same damage as it had her. Soon after he heard the similar voice behind him. Asking to take the other guy. "By all means. Take them off the board." Marcellus replied, assuming Liz was strong enough to take that pawn, especially with Victini on her side now. With the mythic pokemon there, there was a glimmer in Ariana's eyes. She wasn't planning to leave without it now.

XXXXX Marcellus never took his eyes off of Ariana and the Muk. He heard Liz behind him, she was okay good. But it sounded like she was ready for a fight too. "If you have any anger, these guys deserve it, Elizabeth." Marcellus spoke, while his voice was smooth like normal, it was not as friendly or gentle as usual. His words were very sharp and cold. The Muk was done with the talking, still stuck to the wall, as it began to fire balls of gunk at Josette. She tried dancing and twirling out of the way, but was still hit, expressing her extreme disgust for the goo once more. She returned fire by picking the muk back off of the wall and trying to flatten it against the ground. But it merely seemed to just reform any time she tried to squish it. The attacks went back and forth until Josette had enough of the slime on her, and let out a scream as she threw her nubby arms down and ice began to form on the ground beneath her. the ice very quickly crept across the ally and once it reached the Muk it began to quickly encase and freeze the pile of Muk solid. Josette lift her arms, ready to shatter the goo, but Ariana quickly returned the Muk.

Her day could definitely be going better. Liz watched on as Marcellus was uncharacteristically cold with her. She couldn't really blame him, she could only imagine the shenanigans he'd had to endure during his adventures. She didn't know a lot about her world, but she knew what Team Rocket stood for! "Don't you worry, Marcellus. I've got lots to take out on these jerks! Let's go, Princess!" She shouted back to him, expanding a ball right away and throwing out her Salandit. Princess let out a cry and hissed at the Aipom who screeched and cackled, balancing on its tail as it awaited the fight. Princess rushed it first, sinking her fangs into its foot while Aipom yelped out in pain. Aipom got away and started rushing, psyching itself up as it grew faster. Aipom lashed out, scratching up Princess aggressively while she bit and clawed against the assault. "You've got this Princess! Just keep it up! He can't stop you!" Liz called out to her Salandit. Aipom flinched and stumbled away, panting hard as it realized that Princess' bite had caused more harm than it thought. It jumped back, falling onto its tail before springing high into the air. Princess snapped at nothing trying to attack Aipom before it could get away. She moved around, trying to get a better view of the enemy while he came down straight onto the poor Salandit's head. "Princess! Oh no...Come back!" Liz whimpered, reaching out for her Salandit as she staggered, stumbled, and collapsed on the ground. Aipom stood triumphant, menacingly grinning before its scowl blanked out. Aipom collapsed right after Princess did, leaving the battle one-for-one with Princess managing to secure a trade in knockouts. Liz returned her Salandit while Aipom was also called back. Brody was frustrated that his first Pokemon was taken out by poison, but he didn't mind having taken one of Liz's Pokemon down as well. A rare Pokemon they could steal to boot!

XXXXX Ariana was surprised that a Smoochum was able to keep up with her Muk, but she was not going to show it. She wasn't going to let on that it bothered her, but she now knew she couldn't take it easy on this trainer. She let out her Arbok and readied it for battle. Marcellus knew Josette would have the advantage but he was concerned she might not be able to keep up with the snake. Marcellus thought for a quick moment before turning back to Novu."Novu, It's your turn." Marcellus commented, glancing back to the Bulb standing behind his leg. Novu's eyes got wider in fear, looking at the large snake. Marcellus wasn't concerned for the bulb. He couldn't be poisoned, and he was small enough that Arbok might not be able to get around him very well. Novu was clearly hesitating. "Novu, I wouldn't ask you to battle if you couldn't win. you can do this, Just give them an earthquake." Marcellus added trying to give Novu a pep talk, but his tone was still Icy. Novu was still young, but over the years, he's learned he had to step up even when he was scared to do so. Marcellus was being scary too, but he hadn't let the bulb fail yet, so he hopped forward. Marcellus said to never cause more earthquake unless it was an emergency or he said so. So Novu knew it was serious. The Bulb let out his vines that he used to slam into the ground and continued to send it further into the ground. The arbok was already on the assault, and sent a dark pulse at him. Novu was grounded because of his vines so he wasn't knocked back by the attack. The vines under the ground got a strong hold on the earth and as Novu shook his bulb the ground began to rumble, as the paved road opened up and slammed into the snake. The battle went back and forth a few times before Novu was able to pin down part of the snake with his vine controlled earth. Novu struggled to hold it until Ariana decided to return the snake.

XXXXX Marcellus looked over to Liz, she was holding her own as he expected, however both Pokémon seemed to take each other out. Marcellus had faith in Liz's battling skills. She was new yes, however she had an act for throwing enough punches where it counts. She just didn't seem to have the same confidence in her self some times, especially when she wasn't angry at something. "Keep swinging, Elizabeth. These people deserve anything you can throw at them."Marcellus tried to offer her words of encouragement, but his anger, and ice, was still clear in his voice

A strip of bright sunlight fell across the bed, exactly where the young man's eyes were. He blinked, groaning and pulling a pillow over his face. He tried to get back to sleep, but it was no use. He was already awake. He flung the pillow across the room, startling his Yamper as it landed near the Pokemon. Yamper barked at the inanimate object, making sure it wasn't going to try another attack. When it didn't retaliate, he bit down on the fabric and whipped his head from side to side. He was determined to kill the threat!

Thomas didn't even know what day of the week it was. Many days had passed by in a blur with Thomas remembering next to nothing. What little he could remember was blurred and hard to focus on. He knew that he hadn't really been in control of himself for days now, so it was time to try and get his life back on track. "Let's go." He said, noting that Yamper, was the only one out of Pokeball. What an unusual thing. He couldn't remember letting the Pokemon out, nor could he imagine why no others were out of theirs.

Yamper barked and abandoned his project, leaving feathers all over the floor. Thomas left the room, venturing downstairs to find Nurse Joy. "I'll be checking out now, thank you for letting me stay." The Nurse looked at him suspiciously, confused by the sudden change in behavior from him. He'd been here for over a week and had never once been polite to her. "Is there any way I could get something to eat?" She nodded, and went off to the kitchens. He yawned and stretched, shirt rising up over his toned stomach for a moment.

It was then, as the Nurse returned with a plate of breakfast, that he remembered the pale-haired girl who he'd met at... that place. He didn't want to think about it, or remember it, but he felt a stab of guilt for her. He pulled out his phone, glad they'd swapped numbers before he'd lost his hold on sanity. 'Hey, sorry about that. I guess it hit me harder than I thought.' He texted her, then pocketed his phone. If she returned a text, then that was great. But if she didn't then he couldn't blame her for wanting nothing to do with him. He'd been out of line by ghosting her like that.

Now Thomas was back in control of his senses and actions, but there was still one problem. He had no idea what to do now. Everything just seemed to have no purpose anymore. He had been faced with his own mortality, and had come away with that unable to tell where his place in the world was. He was in a whole new Region, yet one that he was somewhat familiar with. His Father had lived here, and Thomas had lived here with him for a long time before he'd stolen his Father's Scyther and left home forever. Johto was a dark patch in his past. He did not want to be here.

"Lady?" He said, aiming his Pokeball at a spot in front of him. She appeared in a blink of red light. "Hey, it's me. I'm back to myself.." She sighed but moved forward to embrace him. She despised his alter ego, but Thomas - her Thomas - she loved without question. "We're back in Johto, and I don't think I'm ready to face this yet. Can you take us to another region?" She nodded, sweeping out her arms and teleporting them all away in the blink of an eye.

Liz should have focused on her fight. She should have called Princess back and moved on quickly to make sure Brody didn't cause more damage. She instead ran to her Salandit and cradled the poor creature in her arms once Aipom went down. Brody growled his frustration. He could deal with one of his Pokemon getting KO'd, but he was not thrilled with the way Liz kept treating him like an afterthought. Oh well, she'd learn better soon. Qwilfish came out as Liz touched Princess' ball to her snout, leaving the redhead defenseless as Qwilfish launched a barrage of spikes around her aiming to do some harm. Vee reacted quickly, scattering the Spikes aimed at his trainer and telekinetically tossing her back out of harm's way. "Hey, hey! Focus! You're not helping her like this! Let me show this guy how it's done!" Victini cried enthusiastically. He could see a hundred different ways this battle could end, and he could see way too many where he couldn't hang for long. Qwilfish was an easy match on paper with its Poison Typing but he was not going to access enough of his power to take advantage of that difference. He could only hope that Qwilfish was as weak as he thought. He was wrong! Vee charged up and tried to end it with just one shot, only managing to disorient Qwiflish before it retaliated with some Payback...literally! Did that move always sting this much? He was so rusty! This was completely unfair to Liz! She was going to lose and it was his own fault for underestimating this Rocket and his Qwilfish! A second Confusion was answered with a Hydro Pump that smashed Vee into the wall. OK, yeah...he felt that one. After taking a few seconds to peel himself out of the concrete, he chuckled. It hurt, but he was far from finished. Lucky for Qwilfish, he had a rule to battling because he was so powerful. "OK, OK! I give! That was really great! I hope you and your trainer can get along even better!" Qwilfish hesitated, looking back to Brody who scowled at Liz's Victini. What was this thing babbling about!? But if it was surrendering, he would take that...! Brody let the moment take his better senses along with it and approached Vee who was just staring at him like he was growing a second head as he approached.

"What are you--?" Vee couldn't finish his question as Brody's hand snapped down toward the ground and Qwilfish grabbed onto Brody's shirt to drag him down from being kicked in the head! Belle seemed to hover momentarily in the air, her legs still positioned at the tail end of each kick she'd attempted to deliver to the Rocket Trainer. Brody's hand was injured by the first kick while his uniform cap slipped from his head from the force of the slashing kick Qwilfish saved him from. Spikes dug into his back now instead while Qwilfish ballooned itself momentarily to help him back up. A cry of frustrated pain and Brody was back up. Vee had wisely backed off and Belle landed on the point of one foot to try and kick Brody again which he only avoided because he was trying to get away from his Qwilfish in the first place. The Berry Queen flinched in her attempted follow-up strike, realizing she had stepped on Qwilfish's laid out Spikes without realizing she'd messed up. That didn't matter as leaves began to materialize around Belle. She held one hand out toward Brody's Qwilfish and narrowed a sharp glare at it. "I'm done with you." She sniffed, gesturing lazily as the Magical Leaf storm erupted and swarmed around Qwilfish. The Pokemon went down without resistance then and Belle stepped back to avoid getting another Spike in her feet. Qwilfish vanished in a flash of light while Belle stared down the enemy trainer. She was considering the validity of kicking him again when a Shuckle came out to disrupt her thought process.

The battle did not go the way Belle or Liz anticipated. She should have gone for the Rapid Spin, protected the others from Qwilfish's revenge, but Shuckle had proven to be a dangerous opponent even without that move! Belle had decided to use Trop Kick to handle her Shuckle problems, hoping that the rocky shell would be enough for her to take it down. Shuckle didn't seem particularly bothered by Belle's strikes, giving the Tsareena some worries about how effective she really was. The Sludge Bomb that spewed out didn't help her opinion any. Shuckle had taken to hiding in its shell which Belle had mistaken for meaning she was doing well. To be fair, she wasn't doing badly! But she wasn't able to secure the victory on her own. The second burst of slimy venom sent Belle reeling and Liz was frozen for a moment too long. Shuckle peered out as Belle fell, looking around while the young woman opposing his trainer remained stiff.

Fear. Pain. Her arm throbbed seeing her Tsareena get coated in the same filth that scarred her body when she was young. Tightly clenched fists began to tremble. She struggled with her own mind as Shuckle began to drag himself to Belle. If she wasn't going to do anything, she must be out of Pokemon. Best to secure this Tsareena before she tried to wake up and fight him again...Oops. Shuckle was still processing what had just happened as he got rolled over onto his back. Liz's leg was still straight up in the air as Shuckle's heavy shell thumped hard on the ground. "Belle! Get back!" She cried out to her Tsareena as she returned Belle to her ball. Vee stared on in wonder as Liz struggled with herself too much to send out another Pokemon, but not enough to let Brody's Shuckle just take Belle from her. She brought her leg down hard, stomping on Shuckle's "belly" before kicking it again and sending the rock worm spinning away. Shuckle had to get his bearings again before he could listen to Brody's demands for retaliation. Maybe he should try going for a twirl sometime before barking orders about going faster. Shuckle finally got himself upright and prepared to gush another Sludge Bomb at Liz. Wait, where did that Seel come from? Ice Beam washed over Shuckle as he shot Sludge at Liz, the toxic gunk crystalizing as it flew until it made a pretty little starburst pattern of icy blue and venomous violet. Shuckle might have marveled at the display he had accidentally created with the Seel Liz had sent out...but he was also frozen by the attack. Well, this was not ideal. Liz stumbled back, almost stepping on some Spikes when she did so. Now her Seel was in the fight and she was hopeful that he would be able to do some damage instead of this constant back-and-forth she was dealing with. This guy was stronger than she wanted to admit!

XXXXX The longer the battle went the more and more Marcellus saw, to his dismay, red. While Marcellus knew Ariana couldn't have been an admin when his father was killed, she was too young, as well as Neo Rocket didn't exist at the time. This knowledge didn't calm his hatred any. She could have been a grunt at the time, and she not only supported but was the leader of one of Rocket's Branches. It was clear that Ariana was growing more and more frustrated at how long the battle was taking. Her and Brody should be stomping these kids but they both seemed to be struggling. The four seemed to have met their matches. Marcellus caught glimpse of the Victini in battle, he was glad to see it, how ever he knew this would very much interest the Rockets. He wasn't wrong, shortly after Brody went for the attack to grab the legendary. Only to get stomped by Belle. Marcellus knew Liz was in good hands. He was sure she would sucker punch the grunt if he got too close, and Belle seemed to be able to hold her own in battle. Arina sent out her Hypno. This concerned Marcellus, knowing what they're capable of. But he left Novu in."Pay attention Novu, don't let it get in your head." Marcellus warned the little Bulb which he nodded to his trainer. Marcellus was lucky Ariana was more of a physical fighter, rather than psychic. The Hypno charged up a ball of energy and with a flourish the energy whirled around him and blasted at Novu before he could react. The blast of energy knocked the Bulb backwards. Novu took the blast and recovered very well, rolling back and landing back on his feet and began to shake the ground once more. Using his Vines to dig through the ground and fracture the asphalt the Hypno was on. Novu wasn't allowed to make earthquakes like he learned to do, but now Marcellus was asking him too, so he knew it was important. Because of this Novu was also grounded, which aided him in taking to focus blasts from the Hypno. "Novu, watch out, Heal up with Synthesis." Marcellus called out, he wasn't going to let the likes of her knock out Novu. He took a moment and began drawing energy from the sunlight above. This gave him a burst of energy as he continued to battle the Hypno. The psychic continued to blast him, as Novu grit his teeth trying harder and harder to keep the Hypno from blasting him. It finally worked as Novu pinned and enclosed the torso of the Hypno in the asphalt, forcing Ariana to return him. "This isn't over, not by a long shot. We will beat you two, and take that Victini. Now we're going to have to do it the hard way." she spat angrily. She was half down, and this was not normal for her.

XXXXX She returned her Hypno and let out a Honchkrow which perched on the raised ground and eyed Novu. This was taking far too long. Novu was doing good, but he needed to bring out the big guns."Novu come back, you've battled enough."Marcellus called him back, and pulled out another Pokeball, and let out Athena. "Alright Athena, No holding back." Marcellus told her. Not that she ever did really, but Marcellus wanted her to know that he was serious. He wanted them to suffer. Of course, Athena was a bit more fair than Marcellus was, but she was ready for a real battle. She hadn't gotten to have one of those since she got to battle Juan. Sure it was a bunch of fish, but those were the strongest fish she's come across. Sure, they all had to fight together in the pit of Mt. Mortar in the Trapinch hive, but Athena wouldn't consider it a real battle. That was a battle of nothing but power in numbers. Athena stomped once and she grinned at the Honchkrow. This was going to be easy. The Honchkrow began to charge up a dark pulse when she threw out her arms and struck the bird, knocking it off of it's perch. Now the tides were turning. The bird took to the sky, and began raining dark pulses down on Athena. She was able to dodge some, while the others hit, but she took them fairly well. The air was not the best choice. Athena began to strike at the air with bolts of lightning. The flying type quickly landed and was readying another attack. "Lets have a little fun now." she grinned. She held out her hands as both strong arms began to spark and light up. Her antenna began to send large sparks skyward as she charged her energy. Just as the Honchkrow sent the dark pulse, Athena let loose a blast Marcellus even had yet to see. With a loud thunder crack a large blast of lightning easily blasted through the dark pulse and consumed the flying type entirely. The blast was so strong it forced Ariana to have to dive out of the way to avoid it. Once the blast ended, it revealed the steaming flying type. He had been paralyzed so strongly that the bird could no longer move. Stunned in the position as it tried to dodge the attack."Send it back" The white haired trainer spoke, Athena sent a terrent of water to send the bird back and into the red head.

Gus looked bored and, honestly, confused about what was going on. He took down the opposing Shuckle without even being fully aware of Shuckle's threat to him. Liz said "Ice Beam!" and so Beam he did. That took care of the rock worm. Then a bat came out and Gus really confused! He couldn't aim for anything while the Zubat took advantage of the confusion and sapped energy from Gus until he was nearly fainted! After the first Ice Beam hit, it seemed as though Gus wouldn't last when his stumbling and Zubat's attempt to sap life from him coincided in a most perfect way. As if Lucky herself had broken free and pushed him, Gus went head-to-head with Zubat in the most literal manner possible. He bashed Zubat in the face, Zubat went down. That was, unfortunately, the last thing Gus got to do that was helpful. While Marcellus was handily defeating his opponents one at a time, Liz was trading every fight--and slowly falling behind!

Gus attempted to headbutt Raticate which only ended with him striking the ground, then Raticate bit down on Liz's Seel and thrashed, throwing the Water Type away like a broken toy. Liz quickly recalled her Seel, then sent out her Ariados. She was getting desperate to beat this trainer and he was just as certain of his victory as the redhead was becoming certain of defeat. She didn't know what to do, how to face this threat. Her inexperience as a trainer was showing through as Spike immediately poisoned Brody's Raticate. She didn't like using Poison attacks, but she wasn't sure she could deal with losing this battle either! Vee frowned as he went over the situation in his head. He knew Liz's team, a little too well if he was being honest with himself, she had likely already lost her chance at winning. He shouldn't have let her send him out against the Qwilfish, but he hadn't bothered to anticipate what this Grunt was bringing to the battle. The simple fact was that Liz had made an ill-informed decision trying to head off a problem she wasn't properly prepared to face. Raticate proceeded to blow right through Spike while Vee was contemplating Liz's mistakes and how she could later improve. She was going to lose this battle one way or the other. "No, no, no, no! Spike! Come on! Get up!" Raticate was spitting up on the ground from Spike's Poison but it had still handily brought the giant spider low. Without any trouble, as far as the redhead could see it. Raticate was in worse shape than she knew, but that didn't stop it from taking down Spike, "Come on, Leah! Take this stupid creep down!" Raticate hit Leah just as hard after she Night Slashed it. A Quick Attack secured her win against Raticate, but that was short lived. Weezing came out ready to fight, taking another Night Slash before dousing Leah in a Sludge Bomb that splashed over the Absol and hit Liz with some of the excess. Leah was knocked over by the mess of toxic sludge, getting up wearily before slumping back down. Vee shook his head, looking over the field and the damage done back and forth. Nothing she could have done in the end. "Well, looks like it's over! We lose!" He announced with cheerful dismissal of the issue. He didn't consider that Brody might decide he deserved a prize for all of his hard work. He was down to just one Pokemon after all, and she had several that she had showcased with a few extra on her person that clearly weren't part of her team. Through the pain and fear, Liz was cradling her Shiny Absol in her arms. "Leah! Leah, are you OK? Say something!" She pleaded, ignoring the Grunt in favor of trying to care for her Absol. Her mind was reeling both with fear for her Pokemon and flashbacks of her own poisoning as well as the pain shooting up her arm from the scars of such an ordeal. She ignored reason, determined to give Leah some kind of support regardless of the harm she was doing herself to do so.

XXXXX Marcellus was wrapped up in the battle. This woman was not letting up, and clearly did not know what was good for her. She still was sure of her own victory even when Marcellus hadn't lost any Pokemon and she was down to 2. Maybe she had an Ace up her sleeve, but Marcellus didn't count on it. Marcellus could tell she was definitely a higher up, but she was nothing but scum to him. Marcellus was growing more and more frustrated while in their presence. This battle was a waste of his time, They were a waste of his time. He didn't understand why he was playing the charade of the battle. He knew he and Liz would win in the end. Good always prevails over evil, and this was going to be no different. The woman sent out a Venusaur, which Marcellus didn't care really that this could be what Novu would one day evolve to. This was the enemy, he would never let Novu end up like this. Marcellus sent in Ryer. "Ryer, Burn it up."He said causing the little reptile to realize the gravity of the situation. He had just been released and now up against a large grass type, in a city alleyway. It was alot for him to take in all at once. Ryer looked at the Pokemon, and lowered himself defensively and began building up the flames inside of him. But the Venusaur was much quicker and seem to have taken a page out of Novu's book as it sent an earthquake barreling at Ryer. It knocked him backwards through the air, screaming as he went. He flapped his wings tried to orient himself, but failed to do so before getting back to his feet. He got back to his feet, now much angrier than before. He ran forward and began blast flames at the giant plant toad. There was a volley of rock and flames, as Ryer sent torrents of fire at it, while he launched Ryer back. Soon Ryer was able to glide himself back onto his feet to return fire once again. But one powerful strike from the earth finally did the white reptile in, though shortly after the Venusaur succumbed to the flames.

XXXXX Marcellus was frustrated further that Ryer had failed him, and let himself get taken out by the grass type. But he merely returned Ryer without another word for him. He was going to throw out his big guns once again when she sent out her Vileplume. This woman was lucky that Cronus wasn't here. "Okay Athena, time to end this. They are a waste of our time."Marcellus added, Athena was more then happy to enter the battle again and test her muscles. Though she wasn't too concerned about a flower. She just punched her palm and grinned as she stepped up again, and then cracked her knuckles. She held out her arms and began to blast the flower with fire. The flower tried to return with a beam of light, but once it was engulfed in flames, there wasn't anything else it could do. Marcellus's attention turned to the woman who had challenged him. She was out of fire power and he still had 5. He was ready to go to bat at her when Liz's voice caught his attention.

XXXXX Marcellus looked over, and spotted Liz cradling a very slimy looking Leah. He had been so wrapped up in his own battle he hadn't even been paying attention to Liz. He hadn't seen the tides had turned against her. Marcellus still stood his ground as he looked back to the proud male that was guarding the admin. He grinned slyly. "Weezing, cause an Explosion" He said as the two began to back away. The weezing was more than willing to kamikaze and cause a distraction for the trainers to get away as it began to rush the trainers and Pokemon. Marcellus was shocked out of his anger momentarily as he gasped at the sudden danger they were in."Athena!" Marcellus shouted in fear as the Weezing grew nearer and nearer. The electivire raced forward to meet the ball of gas, and gave a swift upper cut and punched the Weezing skyward sending it above the building line and exploded in a safe distance away. Marcellus looked back to the two before him. Now they had no defenses left. He leered at them and began to walk forwards towards the two evil doers. It was time for them to lose and finally get their punishment. They started to run, but Marcellus looked back swiftly "Josette! Stop them!" Marcellus shouted As Josette trotted forwards as fast as she could but jumped and when she landed Ice raced out from her towards the two, and began to gain on the two evil team members. It wasn't long before the Ice halted the two and froze them in place up to their waist. Marcellus took his time as he walked up to the two."I don't suppose you two were planning on giving us mercy when if you defeated us, hm?" Marcellus asked as he walked around them to look at them. He wanted to look into their faces when he finally got some form of revenge for his father. "We were just gonna take your Pokemon we would-" Brody began but Marcellus held a hand up. "Your Weezing already answered for you." He told him, his voice cold and icy, but no longer angry. He was now reveling in their presence. Now they were subdued they were a gift. Marcellus looked from the scared grunt to the leering eyes of the woman. He stepped back and gave them a sinister sweet smile. "Why don't we make sure they cannot do any more harm. I think that would be the right thing to do. Lets give them the same treatment they gave my father, Athena?"Marcellus spoke, reassuring himself that what he was going to do next was the right and most humane thing to do. They were evil, If they were no longer around then it kept them from harming their next victim right? This wasn't him getting revenge, no, it was the right thing to do. Marcellus wave his hand at them cuing Athena as he stepped back to watch. But nothing happened. Marcellus waited a moment, not taking his eyes off of the two, not wanting to miss it. But after a few seconds he tore his eyes from them and looked to the Electivire."Athena. Get rid of them." Marcellus ordered, but she looked at him uncomfortably. "I'm not attacking a defenseless human." She explained to him and shook her head, eying her trainer over. Marcellus leered at her expectingly for a few moments as he weighed his options. Could he force her to attack if she was refusing? He already knew the answer. He looked away from her. "Fine. Josette, finish the job." He added, then looking back to her as Marcellus returned his focus to the two. Josette was more than willing to follow any order from Marcellus. Just as Josette was getting ready to strike with Ice, the two disappeared causing the ice holding them to crumble. Marcellus froze as he looked at the space they once were. "No," He let out with a look of shock. He moved forward and pushed the ice to confirm that they were in fact gone and watched the ice topple over. "No No No!" He shouted angrily. He had let the people he hated most just slip out unscathed. The people he believed deserved to be punished and eliminated. He had them on a silver platter and they slipped away. He turned and saw Cronus. Of course, he should have known they couldn't have gotten away on their own. "How could you. How could you Cronus. Of all people. You let Them get away?" Marcellus argued at the Psychic. "They had nothing to do with your father or my own creation." Cronus spoke, correcting Marcellus, Mewtwo knew who it was and it wasn't them. Marcellus shook his head and stepped away from Cronus, anger causing his eyes to well up. "They are the same people. They may not have physically done it, but they are the same people." Marcellus spoke aggressively to Cronus, no more softness left in his voice. Cronus stared at Marcellus for a few more moments before he too had disappeared, along with Josette.

XXXXX Cronus teleported over to Liz, and Novu, who had found himself near her as well. "Did they injure you?" Cronus asked her, kneeling down beside her, and looking to Leah in her arms. Cronus hoped Liz hadn't been paying too close attention, if she had, she had saw Marcellus at his worst. Cronus assessed Liz within a second and looked to Leah. "I believe she will be okay, but maybe you should start heading to the Pokecenter." Cronus offered to her, and began to help stand her up if she accepted. Athena moved to help as well, offering to carry Leah to the Pokecenter, and make their way if Liz allowed. "Marcellus needs a little time to reflect. But he has every intention of meeting back up with you." Cronus explained to Liz plainly, as he usually did. If she allowed he would assist her all the way into the Pokecenter as did Athena with Novu in toe.

Liz was waiting for something to come. Team Rocket were criminals, weren't they? She'd just lost a battle she couldn't afford to against an opponent that would happily remind her the world was unfair. She listened to the sounds of somebody approaching, tightening her grip on her Absol. Vee didn't seem bothered at all until Brody tried to approach. Everything got a lot harder to track after that. Marcellus had beaten his opponent and was menacing her, Brody decided he would worry about Liz after he'd protected his boss. "Weezing, cause an Explosion" It didn't take much to understand what that meant. Rather than try and escape, Liz cradled Leah in tight against her chest and threw herself back, landing on top of her Absol. Please take care of her! She thought to no one in particular. Marcellus would be fine.He could take care of her Pokemon. "Athena!" Weezing glowed bright, Liz tensed against the coming explosion, then the light raced away and the tightness in the air went with it. The alley grew dim again before Weezing flashed bright high in the air as it exploded harmlessly away from any victims. Liz stayed on the ground, still braced for an end that wasn't coming. At least not today. Marcellus was shouting, the Rockets were pleading to be released. That wasn't how this went. They were the bad guys! Bad guys didn't care!

Liz wished she had kept her head down once she risked taking a look. Marcellus was somehow worse than seeing Brody standing over her. She could feel the hate, she knew a bit about how it felt. Her hate was toward someone she couldn't take it out on. Marcellus had a target, and these Rockets were part of that target. She would have been envious were she not so scared of what Marcellus was planning to do. Someone in the world deserved that. From her. She cradled Leah tight to her, watching as Marcellus prepared to unleash his fury. Athena refused to act but Josette was all too happy to comply. Liz was frightened, but she watched anyway. When the Rockets suddenly vanished she was just as shocked--mixed with equal parts relief and dismay--and then Marcellus was gone. It was Cronus and Novu making sure Liz was alright, Athena lingering in case her strength was needed. "Whew, glad you showed up when you did! I got worked over by that guy's Qwilfish. Is it just me or are your Pokemon stronger here?" Vee remarked, shaking himself off and smiling at Marcellus' Mewtwo. He'd sat out the rest of the battle as was his own rule, but only now that the danger had passed did he realize he'd made a mistake choosing to stay back. Liz winced as she forced herself up, cradling Leah in her arms rather than recalling her Absol to her ball. Tears streaked her face, making lines in the dirt and sludge she'd picked up from Leah. "I'm OK! Thank you." Her smile was thin but as warm as she could muster after the experience she'd just had.

With Athena and Cronus escorting her, Liz was able to make the trip back under her own power, making sure her whole team was safe and able to rest before getting cleaned up and changed. She had to clean her arm to make sure nothing got infected and came out with it wrapped up instead of the usual sleeve glove she liked to wear. "I just needed to be thorough." She explained if any of Marcellus' Pokemon showed concern about the wrapping. She still shouldn't have handled it by herself but she had no intention of asking Cronus for any more than she'd already been given. She sat and waited while her Pokemon recovered and Joy brought them out as they were cleared for action. Leah was released last, the ball being placed gently in Liz's hand with some words of caution by Nurse Joy. Liz had caught sight of a news report of Pokemon appearing all over the world in massive swarms. Each one seemed to have their own reason for being, but the one that got her attention was Kalos. Couriway Town seemed like a beautiful little settlement. There were places closer to her, places she should probably use to train her team. Instead, she fixated on the invasion in Couriway Town. "Cronus, could you take me there?" She looked from the TV, down to Mewtwo. There were many good reasons not to indulge her, but she was determined to find her way out there. Cronus could help her get there or trust the disastrous redhead to make it out and back on her own. She got into her PC after checking on Princess, sending the Salandit into Storage and bringing out her Spearow whom she hadn't trained yet. She wanted to train her Pokemon, do some good in the area she was about to visit, and maybe prove to herself that she was a good trainer. Catching and defeating a few of these invasive Fire Types might do her some good. "OK, I'm ready. You guys be safe. I'm gonna miss you." She announced, holding her hands out to Cronus and Athena first, then Novu whether her offers were taken or not. "Tell Marcie I'm sorry?" She added briefly, more focused on saying goodbye to her friends than thinking about giving Marcellus an unusual nickname.

Rocket Event Rewards: Liz defeated 5 of Grunt Brody's Pokemon. +51 EXP to all participants (4 to Vee and Leah, 7 to Belle, 10 to Princess, 12 to Spike, 14 to Gus) and x3 Lansat Berries!
