 The Ranger School is a boarding school where many people from around the world come to learn to become a Pokémon Ranger, an Operator, or a Mechanic. The Ranger School is well known for its ability to produce successful Rangers. Students of the school, known as Student Rangers, are given special Capture Stylers that have limited abilities. Lamont Splendidocious had a dream to start a school for people. This dream came true when Professor Hastings developed the Capture Styler and Erma started the Ranger Union. Lamont's school was then used to teach students about Pokémon and how to preserve nature, the goal of the Pokémon Rangers. The Ranger School has a fairly large ground. There is also a classroom there where Mr. Kaplan and Ms. Claire teach just to the left of the building. On the far right side of the grounds is Ascension Square where the Pledge Stone can be found. It is said that if one makes a pledge by it, the pledge will come true. Here you can find a teacher and request a practice Styler. You will be guided through your captures with a training styler until you make a successful capture. Once you do that, you will be given your own Styler, and the rank of Ranger.

Through the entire information process she listened as attentively as though her life depended on it. She asked questions, she wanted to know about the history of the Rangers, about their skills, what they did and how far they were allowed to go in their mission to protect life. The moment she was given the chance, she informed the person she was speaking with that she wanted to join the Rangers. She wanted to be a part of this. -Backpack-

Coconut replaces the smell of the bar, and I don't know if it's her or the rum. ♪ Katie sat through a course, which explained everything she could possibly need to know about Rangers and their responsibilities. It seemed like exactly the kind of thing she was made for - helping others so they would never have to go through trauma like she had. At the end of her course, she was given a uniform and... she had to admit, she could pull it off pretty nicely. "Well, you look the part." Said the grouchy old man who Katie suspected secretly had a heart of gold. "Let's see if you've got what it takes. Make three captures with your stylus and come back here."
"Yes, Sir." She replied, snapping off a salute and racing off into a field near the Ranger School. She looked around, but nothing immediately caught her attention. Surely her stylus would record her captures, so she wouldn't need to return to the school with each Pokemon. She was just about to give up when she spotted the tall grass near her moving. "Lend me your power!" She called, and aimed a watch-like device. A spinning top popped out of it, and began to encircle the tall grass in ever-smaller circles.
The Pokemon glowed, though she still could not see what it was, signifying her first ever capture. An Illumise popped it's head out of the grass and then flew over to her. They smiled at each other. "Capture complete. This is too cool!" She knelt beside the Pokemon and patted her head. "Alright, I just needed the training." Hitting a button on the device, she released the Pokemon back to the wild. "You're free to go. Have a good day."
The grouchy old man walked out to her. "Nice one. Now, you'll have to go out into the world and capture three Pokemon... it's a sort of test. The stylus will record the Pokemon's data, so you won't have to bring them back. Good luck."

She was clearly excited, having accomplished the task given to her fairly easily. She wasn't sure what came next, but she remembered being told that in order to advance to the next rank you had to make a certain number of captures. Well, she had done that. Did that mean she would be moving up already?! She let herself into the school and found her Instructor. "I did it." She told him with a bright smile. "I've caught three. This is Swablu." She glanced at the bird on her shoulder. She had looked it up in the Pokedex on her way over here, and knew what it was called now. -Backpack-

Coconut replaces the smell of the bar, and I don't know if it's her or the rum. ♪ "Yeah yeah, hang out here and I'll let you know if anything comes up." He said. She knew he wasn't quite as rude as he sounded, so she nodded and went up to one of the many rooms set aside for visiting Rangers passing through the school. Sitting on the bed, she looked down at her uniform and smiled to herself. For the first time in her life, she was a part of something larger than herself. She was contributing to the Community and helping those in need. That meant everything to her.
She dug through her pocket as Swablu flew over to the bedside table and perched there. It looked up at her, ing it's head. She aimed a Pokeball at the ground in front of her. From it emerged yet another bird. "Rowlet? Wake up." The owl looked around. Apparently she had startled him out of his sleep. "How can you sleep all the time?" She asked him, and he gave a happy little hoot in response. "Hey, this is Swablu. She's going to be hanging out with us for a little bit." Rowlet looked over at the blue and white birb and waved a feathery wing. Swablu chirped and waved a puffy wing right back.
They were getting along, that was good. She wasn't sure the extent of the stylus and it's affect on Pokemon. If she captured a furious Pokemon, would it make the monster friendly towards her and her team? She had a feeling that sooner or later she would encounter an angry Pokemon that she would have to deal with, so she was confident she would find out eventually. She just hoped the results wouldn't come back to bite them all. -Backpack-

A voice followed a brief knock on the door. "Are you in there?" She recognized the voice at once. She got up, stretching. Taking a brief look at the two birds currently asleep on the bedside table - heads under wings and bodies right next to one another, she smiled indulgently. Okay, so the pair of them were cute side-by-side. Half an hour had passed since she had introduced the two Pokemon, and they had quickly become good friends in that time. Katie would be sad to see the little bird go when it was time, but she knew Pokemon could only travel with a Ranger for so long. She also knew that time was considerably less at a lower rank; as she was.
She went to the door and opened it, looking out over the old man who had taught her almost everything she knew about being a Ranger. "What happened?" She asked, taking in his odd expression. She couldn't place what he was feeling or thinking, not that that was unusual for her. After spending a year with a demon she was likely to take any odd gesture or silence for anger and approaching assault. It wasn't that she expected him to lash out at her, but still his expression was unusual. "Did something come up?"
He nodded. "Yes. Something terrible has happened. A young boy from Fallarbor Town has lost his Pokemon." Oh no! At once her mind went to the thieves who had tried stealing her own Pokemon, and she grew upset. He looked at her as though daring her to say something like; 'What, a missing Pokemon? Big deal.' When she made no such remark he continued. "The Pokemon was last spotted heading towards Meteor Falls. Your mission will be to find the Pokemon and bring it back home. Got it?" -Backpack-

Rex and Lucky gathered 'round, each trying to look over Jasper's shoulder. Sure enough, there was no mistaking the blonde. She still hadn't lost all of her tan from growing up in Alola, despite the months that had passed since she fled. Someone must have taken her picture during a celebration, there was a cheerful crowd all around her. The headline read; 'Meet the newest member to graduate and join the ranks of our Rangers!' "She's a Ranger now." Lucky noted, staring down at the picture.
"Maybe she thinks a badge or whatever will protect her." Rex muttered, hoping Jasper's anger wouldn't be vented at his followers.
Jasper clenched his hand, the newspaper crumpling in his fist. "She was wrong." He replied. Getting back to his feet, Jasper turned and walked out of town towards the Ranger School on the hill. The three of them walked up as though they belonged there. "Hello. I was hoping you might be able to help us." He said, speaking to one of the older Rangers as they were leaving the school. Jasper didn't present as anyone with inherently dastardly motives, so most people could easily be fooled by the clever villain.
"Oh, sure. What can I help you with?" The guy asked, looking from one stranger to the others. There were no alarm bells going off, though there should have been. As far as he knew, they were merely lost travelers in need of direction. It was their job to help those in need after all, so he stopped just short of his mission's start to see what he could do for them.
Jasper smiled charmingly. He could feel he was on the right track, she had definitely been here. "I'm looking for a girl named Katie. She's a new Ranger, and she really helped us out of a tight spot a few days ago. We just wanted to thank her, is she here?" Jasper looked innocent and hopeful, as though he believed his own words. "Ah, yes. Katie is one of our most promising new recruits." The Ranger told them, giving a smile that was not reciprocated. "There's just one problem. Nobody knows where she is. She was here one moment and the next..." He shrugged. With nothing left to say, he turned and started walking away. So he didn't see the look that passed over Jasper's face. There was only one way to describe it - a look of pure evil.
It was fortunate that he hadn't caught sight of Jasper's darkest moment, because it probably would have caused the Trainer to take it out on him. In his current mood, he might well have gone too far and killed the Ranger for giving him this news. Both Rex and Lucky knew better than to speak right now so they lingered in the background of Jasper's rage.
He looked up at the school and knew what he had to do. He pulled out three of his Pokeballls and released Litten, Turtonator, and Sandygast. "You three listen to me very closely." He ordered, his tone making it clear that he would not be repeating himself and that failure would result in severe punishment. "We'll start with you." He said, looking at the Sandygast. "Stone Edge the doors. Nobody gets out of there."
Sandygast knew better than to question, just like when he'd floored that Slugma in front of that poor boy. The mound of sand shifted around and looked at the building, trying to find each access point. When he thought he'd found them all, he focused and a massive shard of earth erupted in front of each one. There was no way they would be able to open with the Stone Edge spears in front of them.
"Good. They'll know something's wrong now, which brings us to you two." The small cat and larger turtle flinched under his look. "Burn it to the ground." They exchanged a wide-eyed look with one another. Meanwhile the clown hovered about twenty-five feet from the ground near a crop of trees, watching the scene unfold with a devious grin on it's face. It knew it was about to be treated to a five star meal.

Both Pokemon knew that it was the wrong thing to do. However, their fear of their Trainer overpowered their sense of wrongdoing. They took firm stances so as not to overwhelm themselves with the force of their fire attacks. As one, they set flame to the Ranger School. For a few minutes Jasper watched the flames build larger and spread. His face was soon bathed in the flickering glow of this unfortunate tragedy. For the first time, they saw a truly joyous look on his features. It did nothing to add to his appearance, in fact it only made him appear that much more frightening.
Rex and Lucky were getting antsy. They didn't want to be anywhere near this place when the Police showed up to investigate. Jasper didn't seem to be in any hurry and they didn't understand that what he was really waiting for was to hear the sounds of true suffering and pain. The thing was, that didn't happen. Minutes later, one of the far walls erupted outward. A large bulky figure had run straight through it, and when he rose to his full size, Jasper realized it was a Machamp. Through the smoke billowing out of the building, they watched a group of people emerge coughing and shielding their eyes.
As soon as they recovered, each of them brought out a Pokemon from their Pokeballs. Jasper didn't realize Rangers still bothered to catch Pokemon. The pair of henchmen realized that pleased look was gone from his face as quickly as it had appeared. He returned his Pokemon and ran in the opposite direction as the Rangers started calling out instructions to their Water-Type Pokemon to start putting out the flames. He might not have caused any of the real pain and suffering he'd intended, but the school was definitely damaged. At least he'd left his mark on this place forever. Wearing - Default outfit.
