MochaWith the preparations having been set, the contest was underway, and Aaron was standing at his place at the edge of the stage while his challenger took their place for the opening appeal round. Aaron was a bit more stoic compared to his other league equals on the coordinator sector, but he could not deny that he enjoyed a good contest and could recognize a challenger with potential. The younger male finished up with a flourish, and the crowd already adored him with cheers and applause, then it was Aaron's turn to keep things rolling with his entrance.
Aaron moved forward onto the stage after the announcers called his name, and with the precision of years of practice knowing what his Pokemon were capable of, he threw two Pokeballs high into the air above the stage as far as he could muster. In a flourish of white and yellow streamers that burst from the two Pokeballs, a Talonflame and a Magmar leaped into the air. The magmar began to fall almost immediately, but adeptly so as it raised its arms, listening to the whistle of the bird turning through the air. The Talonflame caught the Magmar in mid air as the fire type clutched the bird's talons in its hands, and the two surrounded themselves in a flurry of fire and flame. A spiral of fire followed them through the air as they moved down towards the stage, the flames dispersing in a billow of smoke as they landed together. The crowd cheered as Aaron moved forward to take his bow with his two Pokemon, taking the Talonflame onto his arm as the Magmar moved to follow towards the edge of the stage to await the call for the talent rounds.
As the judges had come to their conclusion, Aaron was deemed the winner of the appeal rounds, and to proceed he was called on stage to begin the first talent round of the contest. Aaron took out his first Pokeball of the talent portion and released a Volcarona that fluttered above the stage, its wings sparkling with touches of fire and ember.
"Volcarona, let's start with set up," Aaron called, and the bug type hummed at the words as it fluttered higher above the stage with embers flitting from its wings. The Volcarona began to spin in the air, releasing more embers that rained down up on the stage before duplicates of itself began to spin out from around the original figure, using Double Team. Above the stage now was a shimmering shower of embers as the Volcarona showed off the exceptional use of the move, and then Aaron looked up into the air above him to continue.
"And now, Flame Charge!"
The fire type hummed again, a symphony with its double team still in effect, and with incredible synchrony the copies burst into flame that covered the bug's entire body. One by one the copies began to move in the air in a sort of dance almost that accented the movement of the burning flames, and in a sweeping motion they rushed down to the foot of the stage as each copy disappeared upon making contact with the original, each bursting into a shower of flame and ember.

 Script grinned as the crowd went wild, and his grin only broadened as he was crowned the winner of round one. As he took his spot back on stage to preform again he was a tad nervous, but only because his next performance took a lot of trust. However, he quickly shook the feeling away. He trusted his pokemon without a doubt.
As the lights shone down on him Script tossed up a pokeball and released Kruz in a blinding flash. With a grin, Script put up his arms and faced Kruz as if they were about to spar, and spar they would. Kruz seemed to give his own nervous grin before shooting towards Script and slashing out with his bladed arms. As Script ducked the swings he heard the crowd gasp in shock and it made him smile. Kruz kept up his attacks and Script dodged them all gracefully, managing to show no fear despite the blades coming within inches of cutting him. Truthfully, their little dangerous dance was actually planned out and practiced earlier. Still, Script was secretly surprised it was going so well.
To end it off, Kruz's blades began to glow and he suddenly lunged foreword, his blade slashing out and striking Script on the abdomen. The boy slid back before smiling and turning to the crowd, his belly perfectly fine. Albeit maybe a little bruised under his shirt, however that didn't stop him from bowing to the elated crowd with Kruz as they finished up their daring performance.

MochaThe contest was getting off to a great start, and it didn't come as a surprise to Aaron when the judges did proclaim his opponent as the winner of the first talent round. The young challenger definitely had what it took to get far in the contest world, and his coordination with his Pokemon was very well put together, Aaron knew that he would have to really ramp things up to keep up his title as the contest leader.
When the next round was ready for him to start, Aaron came out with Talonflame on his arm, the bird poised and ready to really get in there and give it his all. Aaron knew that he had to give this round the biggest effort to try and get back into the lead.
"Talonflame, let's not waste any effort, Brave Bird," Aaron called, and the bird trilled with stretched wings, leaping into the air from Aaron's arm. The attack was powerful no doubt, and when executed correctly, it was as devastating as it was incredible to watch. The bird took only seconds to get to a high point of the stage above them before turning over in the air and igniting with powerful fire and thrusting down with incredible speed. Aaron stood in the center of the stage, unfazed, knowing the accuracy his Talonflame was capable of, but just as the bird would have struck Aaron as it swept across the stage, Aaron called out.
"Now," and upon the command the bird's power faded, but only just as it swept into the air again, only barely brushing past Aaron and sweeping over his clothes, and as the bird would have surely faked out its opponent in light of preparing for a devastating attack, it ignited with power again and aimed back down towards Aaron who threw a large disc up into the air, and the Talonflame struck with the intensity of its second Bravebird attack, breaking the disc clean in two.
It was a tough call, but the Judges named Aaron the winner of the second talent round, but it was still anyone's game with a tie. Aaron was ready though, taking the stage with his Magmar to keep things going, knowing the fire type would be just right to finish things off with.
"Alright Magmar, let's start with Focus Blast," Aaron called, knowing the Magmar's studious training would prove well as the fire type began to form orbs of concentrated energy, and began to fire them across the stage. They would surely strike anything that came into their path first, but they were under the Magmar's focus and control.
"Now, Dynamic Punch," the leader called, and the fire type prepared an energy coated fist as the orbs of Focus Blast started to move back in its direction, and one by one the Magmar struck the focus blast energy in a shower of energy bursts upon each strike.

Script watched his opponent's display with shining eyes. Beside him, Flow shifted from side to side as she realized they had lost. There was no way she could get the amount of points they needed to win, and the realization oddly melted away her anxiety. Why stress when you've already lost? However, they would loose in style! Amping herself and Script up, they took the stage and readied themselves for one last show.
As Script took his position on stage, he pulled two metal disks from behind his back and held them out for the crowd to see. Meanwhile, Flow dropped to all fours and eyed the disks, licking her fangs as she prepared herself for the effort ahead. As Script suddenly tossed one disk into the air, Flow launched herself at the disk, her jaws emitting a dark energy as she snapped it up with the sound of cracking metal.
While she was still in the air, Script tossed the next disk skyward with a smile, and as it came near her Flow's fangs began covered in ice. She snapped up the second disk with a loud crack and landed gracefully facing the audience. With an almost smug look, Flow bit down hard on the disks and they suddenly shattered, shards of metal raining from her jaws onto the stage floor at her feet. They had done it!

MochaIt was indisputable, the crowd was loving the contest, the energy was electric and there were cheers and whistles and hollars from every direction. It was a show to remember, and Aaron smiled warmly as his challenger finished on stage, nodding approvingly at the spark he could see. It was time though for the judges to make their last call, to see who would be the winner of the contest this time around, and the lights came down to focus on the judges table as they conversed for just a moment. The results were given to the announcer, and the announcer came on stage, a hush coming over the audience.
"This was an amazing show of cool and awesome techniques, wasn't it," they began, and the crowd cheered their thoughts and adoration for the show.
"Both performers and their Pokemon were spectacular! But only one can come out the victor today. The judges have decided, and our winner is the Kalos Leader Aaron," the announcer revealed with a flourish and a raise of their arms, and while it seemed that there was a bit of a drop in the crowd, there was an eruption of applause as the lights shone, ready for Aaron to take the stage.
He stood on the side of the stage for a moment more though, waiting in the wings with his challenger, and despite his win, he was gracious and smiled towards the young man.
"Don't feed into this as a loss, hmm? This is a learning opportunity, for you and your Pokemon to grow together. Time and patience are the two great levelers in any competition, and sometimes, its easy to let those go by the wayside," Aaron smiled knowingly, a lesson he had had to learn himself in trying to compete with his rather competitive family.
"You did very well, please, come back for the ribbon when you feel you're ready. I think you'll do great," he offered finally before moving to take the stage with a wave and a flourish for the audience.

Script and his pokemon wandered the city for awhile, taking in the sights as Script tried to think of what to do next. It was hard for him to focus on a goal, his thoughts fuzzy and chaotic. However, after an hour of wandering he finally decided what they needed, new moves. Now, you could get moves via two ways, growing stronger, or by TM. Sadly Script soon realized he was clueless when it came to both of these.
As an hour passed, Script found himself at a park that stood out starkly in contrast to the surrounding buildings. He smiled as he skipped along the brick path, caught up in the beauty of the moment. Even covered in snow, the nature was stunning to him. It wasn't large by any means, mostly a few snow-blown trees around a fountain, but he enjoyed every moment of the place. That is, until he spotted something pink at the base of a tree.
Upon closer inspection, Script realized the pink thing was in fact a pokemon.
"It's injured." Starlight spoke up from beside him, her breath clouding the air as she looked over the pokemon. It looked like it had been there for quite awhile, the snow piled along it's sides and over it's back. Without warning, Script dipped low and scooped the pokemon up into his arms, holding it close to try and warm the poor thing up.
"Pokemon center." He murmured, looking frightened at the idea of the pokemon being so close to death. Starlight nodded in understanding and quickly led the way back towards the pokemon center at a canter. Script struggled to keep up under the weight of the Sylveon but he pushed on stubbornly, his eyes lighting up as it came into view. "Help's coming!"
He burst though the doors and ran up to the desk, breathing erratically as he tried to catch his breath and explain the situation to the nurse at the same time. Luckily, she understood quite quickly and retrieved the Sylveon from Script before taking it into the back, calling over her shoulder for Script to wait in the waiting room. Without anything more he could do for the pokemon, Script slumped into a chair with a sigh, all the while hoping it would be okay.

As his name was called, Script skipped out onto the stage and bowed to the crowd with a flourish. Then, with a wide grin, Script tossed two pokeballs into the air above him. In a flash of brilliant red Kruz and Flow appeared. The moment Kruz came out of the ball the scyther brought his bladed arms close to his chest and slashed outward at the air above them, creating a large blue X that shot upward in a burst of energy. Without missing a beat, Kruz slashed the air again, this time sending a thick scar of wind upward. The two moves collided in a grandiose bang, showering the three in shimmering blue and white sparks.
Not wanting to be outdone, Flow grinned and with a deep breath she lifted her head skyward and let out a sonic boom. The sonic waves swept up the sparks and sent them swirling in a vortex of air, and to add to the display, Flow lashed her tail and sent out a barrage of stars that rose into the shimmering vortex. Then, to finish up their performance, the stars collided with each other in a flash of light, the glittering sparks gently falling over the three like shinning snow as the they bowed to end their performance. It had begun!

MochaIt had been a couple of days, but Aaron had a feeling he would see the return challenge of the young boy that was nearly there, just needed that extra bit of preparation to get things set. He had another riveting opening appeal, Aaron could tell that he'd worked with the Scyther and Floatzel that made a show of getting the crowd hyped up, and he was pleased to know that he was able to give just a little bit of inspiration for a would be contest extraordinaire.
Before too much longer it was Aaron's turn to set the stage, and from two Pokeballs he released his Volcarona and Talonflame. The two fire types lofted in the air, showered in shimmering embers that flourished from their wings, and without a moment to spare they were off from each other, soaring on spread wings. Talonflame trilled and Volcarona buzzed as they moved opposite from each other with a precise speed, moving higher then in order to turn and start heading towards each other. They were set on a collision path, but were timed with each other's movements perfectly to spiral down in sync towards the stage now, fire spinning and burning brilliantly behind them. Aaron stood in the middle of the stage now, unmoving, and within seconds became the epicenter of the flaming spiral. Their precise movements caused no harm as the two turned swiftly, and with a heavy flap of each of their wings, the flames dispersed into smoke and ember, finishing their flight display.
Aaron had won the appeal round as he had expected. He, of course, hadn't expected the young coordinator the lose, but he had every faith in his Pokémon to succeed. He trained them, and was very proud of their performances. The redhead made his way out onto the field, Once on his mark he grabbed the edge of his long coat and with a flourish of his long tail coat a flurry of confetti showered out and coated the stage. He raised his arm in the air, as his coat settled behind him.
"Come on, Talonflame, lets give them a show."
He was interested in seeing how the young opponent would change up this contest. They were fairly young, at least as far as he could tell, so it was interesting to see how their young mind worked with their Pokemon. They had already performed their acrobatic skills with Talonflame and Volcarona on their appeals, however he wanted to display his precision. Talonflame took to the air, as Aaron held his stance.
"Talonflame use Bravebird," he called out as his avian rocketed through the air with one beat of it's wings. The Talonflame spun upwards with it's wings outstretched as it headed straight for the ceiling. Giving itself mere inches it suddenly turned and flew against the ceiling before curving it's flight to circle back and lowered to soar over the crowd maybe just a foot over the tallest head, giving the crowd a nice large breeze as it paced.
"Okay, Talonflame, lets end it off with a Tailwind!"
The large fire avian turned on a dime yet again and bee lined for the center stage. It suddenly curled it's tail feathers in as it beat it's wings to give itself a sudden stop. In doing so the sudden action caused a gust that formed a small dirt devil on the stage. But instead of dirt or dust, the winds picked up the confetti he flourished on the stage, which was quickly dispersed across the field and crowd. Revealing the confetti to be in small shapes of Magmar, Volcarona, and Talonflame.

MochaAs the judges had come to a conclusion, it was a tough call to say who had won the first talent round, the young challenger had definitely come back with more to offer for the show. In the end, Aaron was called to go first for the second talent round. Aaron took out his next Pokeball and released his Volcarona, and the bug fluttered above the stage with sparkling wings of fire and ember.
"Volcarona, it's time for the set up," the contest leader called, and the bug type hummed at the words as it fluttered higher above the stage. With a great focus, the bug's form began to shake and shimmer before its form became mirrored and many copies of the Volcarona began to flit and flutter around the stage.
"Flame charge, now," Aaron pronounced, knowing the bug was ready for the next part of the set, and now the copies of the Volcarona all hummed in unison as the stage began to fill with a flurry of showering embers, raining down like a firework over the stage.

Script watched in wonder as the fiery bug made a marvellous display in the air. It would be hard to beat, but such a thought barely registered in Script's mind. Instead, he waited for his turn before skipping out onto the stage with a flourish, Kruz hovering behind him with a barely restrained smirk. The two had trained hard for this next performance, though Script chalked it mostly up to Kruz's own skill.
As the stage lights fell over them, Script produced two batons in his right hand and lit their ends with a strike of a match. He tossed one of the batons into his free hand and began twirling them both as Kruz prepared himself. Script waited until Kruz gave a faint grunt before suddenly tossing the spiralling sticks into the air with a grin. Immediately Kruz made his move, slashing the batons both in half midair with his bladed arms. The result was four sticks each with a flaming end, and without missing a beat Script began to juggle them as they fell back down towards him.
Each time Script tossed a stick into the air Kruz carefully swiped a bit more off of the unlit ends, making the sticks shorter and shorter until there was barely enough room for Script to touch them without being burned. Then for the finale, Script tossed them all up high and ducked out of the way for Kruz to take his place, catching all four shortened sticks on his blades before once again tossing them into the air. As they fell, Kruz flew up and gave one last careful slash, extinguishing the flames with precision.
As the crowd cheered Script and Kruz gave a bow, both out of breath but having the time of their lives. Their practising had finally paid off!

MochaAs the audience cheered, very clearly enjoying both talents they had seen before them, it put Aaron on edge. Script had clearly taken his time and took the advise he had given the youth and learned. Like before, the teen was joyful and confident as was his Pokemon, but now it was clear that they had strategy to match. Aaron couldn't tell who the judges would decide on. He watched them closely from his side of the stage as they deliberated. They took a bit longer than they did before as they began to score up the points before sitting back with smiles on their faces, and spoke with Marcy. "Oh, that was a close decision, but the judges are happy with their winner!" She explained taking the stage, waving her arm in a grandiose fashion. She took a moment to look from Aaron to Script. "You displayed much growth and practice from your previous contest here, and learning your stride and strategy... Keep on this track and nothing can stop you." Marcy spoke proudly as she turned back to the Judges to let them make their announcement, which they revealed Script to be the winner. Marcy smiled as she turned to the young teen and presented him with the Ribbon and his rewards. On the other side of the stage, Aaron stopped and grit his teeth. He was not very big on losing. He was about to storm off when he took a deep breath. He had to remember that Script had lost to him before, and come back stronger and better. He had to remind himself that this was a good thing for the challenger. He stopped himself, and with another deep breath he unclinched his fists and began making his way over to the challenge, and joined Marcy. "You and your Pokemon did really well. I can tell you took the time to plan and strategize your coordination.You deserve this win." He redhead explained, taking a lot for him to swallow his pride. Script crunched through the snow with an almost wild look about him. He was riding the high of his third win and wanted to treat himself and his pokemon with his winnings. He found a small pokemon-friendly restaurant along the main strip and decided it was perfect for a little treat. Although small, it's esthetic made Script feel oddly at home as soon as he walked in. Waiting for him was a hostess who led him to a large table where he let out his pokemon to settle down and have some fun.
Soon the table was surrounded by pokemon, some perched a little awkwardly in their chairs, while others such as Sunflower had to forgo a chair altogether. Slate, who was too small to have his own chair, sat on Flow's lap happily. Script smiled at the sight of his friends all getting along, and the amazing food only made him all the happier.
"Ok! Meeting time! Beauty or Tough contest next?" Script spoke up during their meal and his pokemon all fell silent, each thinking about what to do next.
"Silll" Sylveon was the first to speak up, of which Starlight played the role of translator.
"She says Beauty." As the pokemon around the table all began to speak at once, Starlight glanced around in alarm before waving her tail for silence. "The others are mixed. Five are for beauty, while five are for Tough." She concluded after a moment to gather herself.
"Hm, a tie..."
"Rai!" Soda floated up from his chair and spoke excitedly for a moment before looking to Starlight, who translated in turn.
"Soda says we should flip a coin. Heads for Tough, Tails for Beauty." Script nodded at this and smiled at Soda before taking out a coin from his pocket. Without hesitation he tossed it into the air and watched as it landed on the table. His pokemon all leaned in to see the result before a chorus of both excited and disappointed voices rose into the air.
"Tails! Looks like beauty is next!"

 With Vee's help and her team sorted, Liz set out for Snowbelle City. It was still warm in Couriway Town from the Fire Type Invasion she had thwarted, but she soon regretted not changing before setting out. She arrived in the cold Gym City hugging Vee tight to her chest and hoping Kalla was OK currently hiding out inside of a spare space in her backpack. The burning tail hung out behind Liz's head, providing small comfort for the redhead with heat against her back. Even Fire Types were chilled here. "OK, we just need to get through here and take the next flight to Galar." She announced with a solemn nod. First, she stopped at the Pokemon Center and got changed into warm clothes, even after Vee pointed out that enduring for a little longer would work out in her favor. The redhead stubbornly refused to give up her chance at being warm until it was time to cool off again!

Once again Liz was making her way around a city she didn't know trying to find places that should have been easier to find. She struggled until she stumbled upon a pilot who directed her to the Snowbelle Airport. She was dismayed to find--spoiler alert--that the runways were iced over and only one plane was currently in flying shape due to some inclement weather over the past few days. Liz spent a while waiting around and trying to find solutions until Vee suggested she help solve the problem. She had a Charmander, a Growlithe, and Vee himself to help melt ice!Out of their Pokeballs: Vee, Kalla

It wasn't quite the help the flight crews were hoping for, but between Vee's power over fire and the number of Fire Pokemon that were already here to help, Liz was able to put in some work breaking away chunks of ice and melting the blacktop until there was a long, smooth runway to use! "Vee! C'mon! Kalla, Growlithe! We've gotta go!" Cried the redhead excitedly. She felt good helping but more importantly her ticket had become payment for her work. She had tried to pay anyway, but the officers had insisted she earned her way without having to spend money. The two Pokemon were returned with Victini being the only one allowed to fly with his trainer. That was fair, even if Liz did pout about it. Humans needed seats too. Liz would just have to deal with it until they arrived at Armor Isle.Out of their Pokeballs: Vee
