 "A city of awakening."
Moving north west west in the Kalos region, surrounded by a large forest and on the other side of the Reflection Caves, one of Kalos' larger cities remains on the water, but a little more inland than the ocean. Shalour City is a very large city in Kalos, but it may only seem so because it's city limits span around a lot of area. The buildings are spread out and larger than in other cities because of the space, lined now with stone walkways and built with shaped stone and marble, unlike that of Geosenge town on the other side of Reflection Cave. There are many places to visit in Shalour City, but the crown jewel of it all is the Tower of Mastery that sits at the head of the city on what could be considered it's own island. It is a very large, very tall tower that usually keeps the city in it's shadow throughout the course of the day, and is a common place for most trainers to visit. However, there is one who frequents the tower more than anyone, and that is the city's own gym leader Korrina.
{Shalour City Gym (Click)}Korrina is the official Gym Leader of Shalour City's Gym. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon, and gives the Rumble Badge to Trainers who defeat her. She has earned the title of "The Evolution Fighter" due to the fact that she is one of the only Leader in any league to have a mega evolved Pokemon on her team. Korrina started training her Riolu, now Lucario, and herself at a very young age thanks to her grandfather Gurkinn who is the Mega Evolution Guru. Korrina has learned to master mega evolution with Gurkinn and both have even worked closely with Sycamore on research. Although being a master at mega evolution, and spent her childhood training and learning, she never lost her fun loving personality. She is very athletic, and wears her in-line skates almost 24/7. Not only that, but she is actually a renowned video star at PR Video Studios in Lumiose. Not only does she present herself in beautiful and cute costumes, but she also displays her vast knowledge in fighting skills. Rumor has it that she can shatter cave rocks by using her infamous axe-kick. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching other people and Pokemon defensive training classes. Korrina's Gym sits at the foot of the Tower of Mystery, just outside the tall walls that surround it, and is almost just as wide as the tower itself. The building matches the city's over all architectural design as well as color, though takes up much more room, making it stand out against the rest of the buildings. Once inside of the Gym, it is made clear why it's so large. Not only does it hold a battle field, but surrounding the field is a full sized roller rink. The Rink is free to all those that would choose to use it, and is usually a local hang out for those younger teens, but also is a great family friendly environment. Those wishing to challenge Korrina have to test their skills at skating as well, seeing that the only way to the battle field is actually through the rink, seeing that the skating path way is literally circling the large field. The rink is surrounded by large plastic white walls, for the safety of those watching, as well as at the center, even taller and see through walls circle the field for the skater's safety. The battle field is flat and very versatile, seeing that it's merely a flat area. Machoke used that same attack on Thomas' Butterfree, but his butterfly was made of tough stuff. She used Psychic to send Machoke into the air, only to slam once, twice, and finally a third time into the roller rink. The surface cracked and broke, it would need plenty of repair before anyone could use this part of the rink. Machoke was out, and Korrina sent out her final Pokemon Lucario, who like Machoke finished Thomas' current Pokemon off with a single move. The primary difference was, Lucario moved so fast only to return to the same spot that Thomas hadn't even seen it move. From his perception, Butterfree just fell from the sky at random. He returned his Pokemon, only to send out his own most powerful Pokemon. Lady looked elegant as she flowed onto the battlefield. She could immediately tell that this was that strange, dark, odd Thomas. However, she could also tell this was a very important battle and refrained from trying to counter this change.
Lucario moved at extreme speeds again, hitting Lady from all directions. Lady was able to pick up on Lucario's thoughts though, and could read the communication between Korrina and Lucario. They were communicating in that odd, unique way that Lucario and Trainer could, but she could counter each move now with a retaliating Psychic Attack. They exchanged blows until, both looking as though they were a single hit from collapse, Lady sent Lucario skidding across the floor and into Korrina's legs. She toppled over her own Pokemon, and by the time she got back to her feet Thomas was standing, having moved with unnatural speed and quietness, in front of her. His Pokemon had already been recalled. "Badge." He said, in a dark and uncaring tone.

 Leader KorrinaKorrina groaned as she struggled to climb off of her star Pokemon without getting scratched off his spikes. The fighting type leader was very agile and a very strong contender physically, especially on her skates, but the attack was too quick for even her to dodge. She returned Lucario and began to readjust her skater outfit, and once she did she whirled around and popped back up right onto her skates, only to find Thomas already standing in front of her. He demanded the Rumble badge from her with a single word. She couldn't deny the badge from him just from attitude, not that she would he won fair and square, but she didn't appreciate how she was treated thus far. So far only speaking to her when he was demanding a battle, and now demanding the badge. "You're strong, I can't deny that," She complimented regrettably. "And your Pokemon are trained to fight well." She added glancing to Lady, offering his Pokemon the compliment she was reluctant to give to the trainer. She held out the badge and rewards, allowing him to collect them. But as she did she offered one bit of advice. "But coming from a fighter, you wont make it far with just brute force and a bad attitude." She told him. She knew one too many strong fighters that their their muscles or ego get in the way that lead to their down fall. After her last bit of words, and after he replied if he so chose to, Korrina decided she wasn't going to stay in the situation any longer then she needed to be, and decided to whirl around and gracefully glided off of the field and into the rink.Thomas has received: Rumble Badge TM 98 Power-Up Punch +49 exp split amongst Lapras, Butterfree, and Lady |

After her last Pokemon fell, Bella returned her Pokemon, knowing she was their last hope at defeating this trainer, but it seemed that her little dragons had faltered. After the teen threatened them, advising them not to challenge someone that would bury them, Bella and Theodore took a step back. "Calm down kid, it's nothing personal." Clarisse spat at him clearly unhappy with her defeat. Marcus rolled his eyes at the teen. "Listen, It's our mission to-" He began to explain their reason for attacking, maybe it would stop the teen from attacking again, or maybe so they could throw out a new round of Pokemon, but before he could finished he was stopped as his body went ridged. All four froze and seemed to be stiff as their expressions turned to that of fear. As Thomas called to him them hard, the three psychic attacks began to have a very strong grip on their bodies, the pressure intensifying as the attacks combined but they didn't have to suffer for long as they were sent screaming into the air as they faded into the distance. "Oh my god, this is amazing!" She exclaimed joyfully as she ran in towards one of the counters. Marilyn moved in after them with a matching confused look, almost looking disgusted. "This is a gym?" She questioned under her breath as she looked around as if she hadn't seen one before, her maw wrinkling. Jessica glanced to the teammate before speaking. " Their's a battle field in the middle of the rink. Maybe it's one of the tests, like the rock wall." She commented gesturing to the open field in the rink's center. " Dat is a battle field, if I have ever seen on'." Amma added her accent weighing heavy. Ridley looked around for a moment before stomping one of her heels and followed after Del. "This is just so stupid." Ridley complained as she walked over to the counter. " I guess I have to fight my way to the center of the rink before challenging Korrina?" Ridley purposed to the man behind the counter. He gave her a sad smile and nodded. She sighed and held out her manicured hand with a roll of her eyes. " I thought so. Three more." She spoke. It didn't take long before her Pokemon realized what was happening. "Really!?" Delphine shouted gleefully as she looked to Ridley. She looked to the man and snatched the paw shaped skate and took off running. " Really...?" Jessica questioned hesitantly, but with a grin from Ridley she accepted her fate and took the skates, as Marilyn slowly took hers has well, seeming unsure. After locking up her boots in a locker, Ridley pulled her quads on. Ridley wasn't bad at skating, she had considered joining a roller derby team, but decided she was to pretty for that. Delphine was already on the rink and racing around it happily before Ridley or the others even got theirs on. Ridley got up and moved to the side and began onto the rink. There were way to many people to just make a straight shot so she had to make one lap before going into the door way. Shouldn't be a problem, Del was already on lap two, and showed no interest in stopping. She leaned in and off she went. Ridley wasn't exactly racing or trying to go fast, but she wasn't just strolling through. Her blonde hair kicked up in the wind as she rolled through the rink, her skirt rippling in the breeze. Del whirled around her, lapping her, but it didn't bother Ridley any. She deserved some fun. She looked across the rink, and spotted Jessica trying to make a straight shot, she didn't seem to be moving any faster, granted Ridley wasn't sure if she could even put on the skates. So she decided to play a dangerous game of roller rink frogger, with Marilyn behind her. The meinshao was having trouble staying up right, flailing and scrambling as she tried to remain calm. The weasel slipped and fell letting out a strange snarl of anger, which Ridley wasn't too worried about. She laughed and watched Marilyn get up and frantically race forward, thrusting Jessica and herself towards the door. Just in time for Ridley to reach the door. She pulled it open and skated inside. Ridley climbed onto the platform and returned her Pokemon, aside form Del, as one pair of skates were left behind, proving Jessica wasn't wearing any. Another girl skated inside and moved to the other platform. " I guess you're here to battle Korrina, huh?" She asked perkily. Ridley sighed. " Yeah, I guess so. Let's get this over with, I want out of these skates. They're disgusting." Ridley complained. The girl nodded as she let out her Pokemon, Sawk. " Del, Get in here! You're up." Ridley shouted to Del who was still skating. The fox sadly skated into the center and kicked her skates off, and got onto the field as she looked to see the strong blue Pokemon." Wait, Maybe Marilyn would be better against this guy." Del commented as she pulled out her stick. " Arceus, you're basically a psychic type. use Psychic." Ridley commented as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Delphine grit her teeth as she held out her stick. The blue Pokemon jumped into the air to jump kick her, But Delphine caught him mid air, and swung her stick and sent him flying backward. Kate returned him and let out her next Pokemon, Throh. Delphine did the same again, but the red Pokemon sprung back up, and charged her, grabbing her arms and swung her around, flinging her a few feet screaming. Delphine landed with a thud, but wasn't going to let that go. She rolled over, scrambling for her stick and sent the fighting type packing. " Ha!" She shouted in triumph. " See, you got it." Ridley congratulated, before returning her. Kate hopped down and skated away, only to have Korrina appear. The girl's silhouette was much like Ridley's, only... not as fashionable, and clearly made to be cutesy. Something Ridley did not do, she was sexy and sultry. Not perky and cute like Korrina. Ridley already didn't like her, and after her gym trainer, she figured it would be an easy win. " You know your stuff, huh?" Korrina began. " Well I'll test that." she taunted with a playful grin. " Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got it. Can we get this win over with? I have Louboutins to put back on and places to be." Ridley scoffed. Korrina pulled out a Pokeball with a smirk. " You're pretty, and can talk some game, but I'm curious if you can actually keep up." She commented as she let out her Hawlucha. " That's cute, I was wondering the same about you." Ridley retorted as she let out Marilyn, who was still in a foul mood from her fall. She let out a growl, which Ridley found a bit strange, she normally started off acting dainty, maybe she had some steam to blow off. The bird didn't seem too intimidated. Marilyn launched herself into the air as she rushed the bird with great speed. Both Korrina and the Hawlucha were caught off guard at the sudden assault, but the bird was quick to react. She flipped through the air and slammed into the bird, knocking him down to the ground, as she grabbed it's feet and flung him into the air. She was much more... feral then Ridley was use to seeing, but like she thought before, she might be blowing off steam. The bird took that moment to use flying press and turn the throw into an attack as he streamed back down on her back. She snarled, rolling around, grabbing the fighting type and throwing him again against the plate form, and hard. Korrina returned Hawlucha. " Hmm, you've got the speed, but how about the strength?" She questioned as she let out Machoke. Ridley thought for a second, none of her Pokemon were strong exactly, so why not try the opposite? She returned Marilyn, and smirked as she let out Jessica, when she saw her opponent, she looked back to Ridley with a grimace. "Of course not, we're lovers not fighters, Korrina." Ridley commented in her smooth voice she used when she was charming something out of an unfortunate male. Jessica narrowed her eyes at Ridley, confused at first but quickly caught on. Jessica knew if she tried to go toe to toe with a Machoke it would end very badly for her, even if she were a psychic type. So she turned back around with pursed lips, and looked up at the Machoke through her wavy crimson hair. " You know, we don't have to fight" She spoke in a low voice, as she began to hum a tune, slowly drifting and sauntering across the field, swinging her hips. " Okay... that's something new... Machoke, knock that look off her face." Korrina commanded, but the Machoke hesitated and stopped as she looked the Jynx over. She soon was right in front of the fighting type, as she waved a finger at the tall Pokemon, and he leaned down. She grabbed onto his face and pulled him into a deadly kiss as she began to drain his energy. " Machoke! You aren't some meat head, snap out of it!" Korrina called out, but he seemed to already be gone. With a smacking noise, Jessica pulled back, and the fighting type fell flat on his back. Jessica put a hand on her hip as she looked up to the gym leader. It wasn't how she wanted to win, but it beat a nasty sucker punch to the face. Korrina took a breath as she returned her Pokemon. She wasn't mad at the loss, she was mad at how she lost. That was just disgraceful. Korrina grinned however. " Okay, you're more then a pretty face, I've give it to you, but now is the real challenge." She spoke letting out her Lucario. This wasn't too much of a challenge, Ridley was about to laugh it off before the Lucario lit up and began to mega evolve. Jessica's expression fell, as did the hand on her hip as she began to back away from the Mega lucario, getting distance before it was done. This definitely changed things. The mega Pokemon let out a roar as his form solidified. Jessica readied herself, but not fast enough. The beast immediately charged an aura sphere, and blasted Jessica. The Jynx was knocked backwards and tumbled a few feet. " Jessica get up! Put it to sleep!" Jessica rolled over and got up as quickly as she could, throwing her hair out of her face. She moved as quick as she could forward, but Lucario closed the distance quicker then she could. Jessica quickly grabbed the maw of the Lucario and planted a kiss, trying to put him asleep but he wasn't having it. At point blank range, the fighting type blasted Jessica with an aura sphere, sending her soaring backwards. She slammed into the platform and crumpled onto the ground into a mess of dress and hair. Ridley didn't wait to see if she fainted to return her. She needed someone fast and strong. Marilyn needed close range, but Del could fire at a distance. with actual fire. So she let out the fox. " Quick Light it up" Ridley demanded quickly, and Delphine pulled out her stick, but was too late, the Lucario appeared infront of her as if it teleported, causing Del to shriek, and knocked her backwards with one swing. Delphine tumbled into a roll, gripping her stick, she landed and let loose a stream of fire that engulfed the Lucario. The Lucario let out a cry that turned into a wave of energy that slammed into Delphine, but she wasn't going to let up. She trained the fire onto the mega Pokemon to not only damage him, but keep him as far from her as she could. Soon it was over, and Korrina was forced to return him. {Ridley Vs. Delphine waved it in the air and spun it around her. " I bet I could deal some damage with this thing!" She declared happily as fire bellowed from the end. Delphine was inspecting over her new body before looking up with a suspicious look on her face. " Wait, I battled and defeated that monster, and Darkrai's monster, but I evolved because of a stupid gym battle? What gives Arceus?" She questioner crossing her arms. Amma floated into view next to Del ready with an answer. " You might not have been ready then. Arceus and the Greats work in mysterious ways." Amma responded in her heavy New Orleans accent. " The machines picked up an anomaly with one of the Pokemon you gave me, did you have a tough battle?" She asked Ridley. The blonde thought for a moment, but it was a pretty easy battle... Jessica got hit pretty hard, but she would have been fine. "Uhh, not really? Skater Barbie was pretty easy to defeat, honestly." Ridley commented with a shrug. The nurse let out a inquisitive sound. " Maybe there was a mistake. I'm sorry about that." She commented. Ridley gave her a look before turning back around and beginning back out and into the Gym again. Ridley sat on one of the bleachers and lounged back and waited for Delphine to tire out. Del had had a pretty rough time. She was young, and still a little naive and had been through a lot lately. While Jessica was attacked, and she was the one kidnapped, She seemed to have pulled herself back together and come to terms with what happened. And all her other Pokemon were able to handle that attack in the cave and even in Darkrai's tower, but the fox seemed a bit more sensitive then the others. So this was something Ridley was doing for her. She wanted nothing more then to move on and get some where so she can go to sleep. Every time she lifted her head off of the bench she could see Delphine zooming around the rink, so she couldn't end her fun now that she was actually having fun. After about an hour, Ridley had almost fallen asleep when Del sat down next to her panting. "Okay, we can go now." Delphine told her still grinning. "Good you had your fun." Ridley told her standing up and stretching. "I'm happy you evolved, but lets get the hell out of here." Ridley told her. Del stood and followed Ridley out of the rink and out of the city. When they landed in Shalour City, Kira brought out Lucy to walk in alongside her. She was given a pair of skates in her size and told that she'd have to go through the Gym to find the Leader. Well that made sense. The problem was, Kira had never used skates before. She stumbled and slipped a few times before she got the hang enough to remain upright. "This is going to be bad." She said, staring down at the skates with disgust. "I hate these things. Don't let go." She told Lucy, who was holding onto her arm and keeping her on her feet.
She found herself eventually in front of a girl who introduced herself as Kate. She had two Pokemon with her. They were obviously fighters, so she had an idea. "Go, Noibat!" The small bat emerged and Psychic-blasted one of them right off it's feet. The second one charged, hit Noibat and sent it flying. However, before it could hit the ground of the rink, it evolved and used it's incredibly large wingspan to flip over and glide up and around.
Noivern flew circles around the ring, able to fly so much faster and easier now that it had evolved, so it was enjoying it far more than she should have while in the middle of a battle. Even Throh didn't understand what was happening at this point, but it figured it out real quick when Noivern circled overhead and blasted it with a Psychic attack. With both Pokemon out of commission, the enemy Trainer skated off leaving the redhead to fend for herself.
She did eventually find the Gym Leader. She sent out a Hawlucha, and Kira sent out Spark. The Electric-type's advantage fulfilled it's purpose - after a painful hit Spark's Thunder attack blasted Halucha off the battlefield. She returned the karate birb and sent out a Machoke. Since Noivern was out and already flying around the incredibly expansive roller rink on it's newfound wings, Kira called out to it and told it to Psychic the Machoke as it had the Sawk and Throh. Machoke threw something at Noivern, which glanced off her wing. She Psychic'd the buff brawler to it's knees and then blasted it back.
When Korinna sent out her next Pokemon, Kira saw Lucy tense up beside her. She realized that it was another Lucario. Not only that, but it was mega evolved. "I've got this one." She said, walking forward to face off with the mirror image. Both Pokemon used Aura Sphere at the same time, which collided in mid-air. They hovered there pushing against each other for a moment before both submitted and blasted off in different directions. Where they landed, small explosions took place and charred the point of contact.
They both charged at each other after that, jabbing and kicking at each other but deflecting every blow before they could land. It was almost like they were fighting themselves with how similar their fighting styles were. Lucy knew she had to change the game by doing something this Lucario could not. She stomped the ground causing it to shake. The enmey's once sure-footed stance broke and sit stumbled. That was when Lucy hit with that once and final Aura Sphere. Lucario landed on it's back, eyes closed and breathing heavily but otherwise motionless. TL;DR

gravity_resistantLeader KorrinaAfter the earthquake that was rather unexpected, Korrina had been knocked to the floor because of her skates. She was a pro at skating but even her skills couldn't save her when the ground was moving out from under her. Luckily the earthquake had dispersed before really hitting the Rink, so only the lessor skilled were knocked down out there. She lifted herself off of the ground and returned her Lucario. She began to roll her way across the now uneven floors, but this didn't seem to bother her much. "Not many things can knock me down." She commented as she continued to move towards the girl. "And it's not every day I get to battle another Mega Lucario. That was very interesting." She complimented It was very interesting to see the battle go back and forth. Had it not been for that Earthquake move, she was willing to bet it could have gone either way. "I'm a big enough fighter to admit defeat." She told Kira as she pulled her badge out of a pouch on her belt and handed it to Kira. "However, I noticed you were relying on special attacks. You should come back some time and I could teach you and your Pokémon some fighting moves." She told her with a grin. Obviously her Lucario was fine, but she enjoyed teaching trainers and Pokémon alike how to battle without abilities. It was one of her specialties on top of Mega Evolution. She even knows some moves that involved non-humanoid Pokémon.Kira has received: Rumble Badge TM 31 Brick Break +49 exp split equally amongst Spark, Noivern, and Lucy

Her Pokemon were enjoying themselves again up in the air after feeling like a battle might have started in Camphrier, and still Burst didn’t show any signs that he had been hurt or injured in losing his head. In fact, when Emiri had actually calmed enough to move herself and Charizard over towards him in the air, and ask to make sure that he was okay from his head falling off, he seemed not bothered and even moved his arms to roll his head off of his shoulders again. Emiri’s heart skipped a beat and her Pokemon that had been too far away to see what had happened before all screeched and roared in kind at the suddenness of it, but still Burst was fine. His head rolled around his arms effortlessly and turned and rolled in the air, and then he threw it up above them and it exploded into a shower of fireworks. At this point Emiri and her Pokemon were speechless, most of them only barely remembering to keep their wings flapping so as not to fall from the air, and Burst with no inclination of pain whatsoever had his head back on his shoulders with a flourish of his hands, and that was that.
Learning more and more about the strange creature that they had come into contact with, Emiri and Charizard moved down to the Pokemon Center in Shalour City as their next stop for the Kalos region. The coastal town was pleasant, and she made easy work of moving into the Pokemon center to greet the Nurse Joy and gain her next stamp, ready to move on with Charizard as they climbed back into the air. Elfana Aroway Shalour City was a welcome sight after going through Reflection Cave. That being said, there was still a whole lot of nothing there for her. Kalos really wasn't her region. If it had been one of the longer regions on the list she would have failed to finish her trip around the world. Fortunately it was relatively short. She only had six towns left until she could move on to another region. Likely Alola. She might as well get both of the awful regions done together. Elfana had a thing against too much sunlight. Alola was her personal hell. She was investing in a pair of sunglasses and a parasol at some point before she left Kalos. The only good thing about Alola was that she had an excuse to wear a cute swimsuit the majority of the time. She stopped by the Pokemon Center, giving the nurse her book so it could be stamped. Her next stop was Coumarine City. Then she would head to the Badlands from there. She hoped that traveling later at night would make her trip through the Badlands somewhat less awful.Kalos

Apparently Lunala had things to do with her new Hunters. Kira did not mind as she had plenty to do herself. After a quick stop in the Pokemon Center for the stamp (as stated prior in that thread) she left on Charizard. The other dragons were with her, and Lucy as usual was mounted on Salamence. Eventually they came upon another City and Kira with Charizard lead the descent into Shalour City. They landed just outside the Pokemon Center. "Hang around here guys. I won't be long."
True to her word, Kira was inside of the building for less than a minute. Upon receiving this place's stamp, she was in and out. They waited loylally and then she was on the back of her pseudo-dragon and ready to go again. With that, she took off and the series of dragons launched themselves into the sky behind and around her.
