Species Name
Koinse
Type(s)
Normal
Abilities
Frisk, Gluttony; Pickup
Image and Physical Description
- Koinse is a small, soft creature that resembles a cloth purse with a threaded cinch. Its mouth is lined with fragments of its favorite food--money and jewelry. Its eyes are connected to long stalks that make up the drawstring of its cinch-shaped neck. Koinse has almost no natural locomotion, relying primarily on its stalks to drag itself along the ground. Koinse can be found clinging to Trainers or other Wild Pokemon using its eye stalks like arms.
Pokedex Entry
- Koinse is a slug-like Pokemon with no solid parts inside its body. It hides in places that treasure can accumulate, slowly building a hoard for when it evolves.
- Alternate: Koinse are extremely rare. Its population is said to be kept in check by a mysterious predator only found deep within caves and ruins.
History
- Koinse was created long ago by ancient magicians trying to create a treasure guardian in what is now the Kanto Region. While successful in the long run, Koinse was what came of their experiments. It was discarded by its makers as a failure and left to fend for itself where it discovered it could eat the things it was created to protect and grow stronger because of it. Koinse became the guardian the wizards wanted and destroyed its creators, leaving its history lost to time. Koinse--and its evolved form, Metallion--frequent ruins to guard treasures that may be hidden within. Metallion does not breed often so its unevolved form is exceedingly rare and the few places that have rediscovered the ancient guardian covet Koinse as a status symbol as they can be trained to safeguard small objects inside their bodies. Between pursuit of treasure and unintended interactions with humans, Koinse is a whispered story across all regions with a presence in at least one cavern or another where it collects treasure to evolve.
Diet, Habitat, and Behavior
- Koinse, functionally, is a scavenger that eats what it can get, encasing things within its weak body and digesting it. Its stomach is capable of breaking down even dense metals given time. Koinse consumes hard materials which allows it to grow more durable and prepares its body for its eventual evolution into Metallion. Due to its weak form, Koinse's habitat is either a densely populated area like a city or an abandoned place like ruins. Though its chances of survival are lower in ruins, crypts, and dungeons, Koinse is also able to grow faster due to the collection of discarded objects and lack of human or average Pokemon interference. Many predators ignore Koinse for being too small but it is still preyed upon by opportunistic hunters such as Zorua, Sableye, and Nickit.
When faced with a human, Koinse's first instinct is to flee and hide as it assumes humans are predators of some kind. They are easily frightened and react with hostility to most other creatures due to their weak nature. A Koinse able to survive in the wild often becomes dense, strong, and cruel in its instinctive nature.

{Metallion (Click)}
Species Name
Metallion
Type(s)
Dark/Steel
Abilities
Stall, Strong Jaw; Pickpocket
Image and Physical Description
- Metallion is a large treasure chest-shaped Pokemon with sharp teeth lining the lip of the lid and the container. Instead of being empty, Metallion contains a massive tongue it can use to grapple unsuspecting victims to draw into its large mouth. It has eyes located in the wood on either side of its lock. The eyelids look like slotted knots in the wood there.
Pokedex Entry
- Metallion, the Chest Pokemon. Metallion devours prey violently in its large mouth, then separates food from treasures which it stores inside its body like a normal chest.
- Metallion carries on bitter rivalry with Golurk as both are charged with guarding something but regard each other as threats.
History
- Metallion was, at first, a mysterious thing to appear after the failure of creating Koinse. The first Metallion ate its creators to gain the treasures it had been made to protect. With no survivors to confirm the existence of Metallion and Koinse's relation, Metallion and Koinse were mistaken as separate Pokemon for a long time once they began to spread and it was believed that Metallion "farmed" Koinse as a food source since one Metallion would sometimes house and protect small groups of Koinse. It also has a self-centered and vicious behavior that caused it to sometimes eat Koinse if it became hungry enough or deemed that consuming Koinse would further whatever goals the Metallion had. Overzealous behaviors in the name of protecting treasures or completing mysterious tasks have made Metallion not only incredibly rare, but considered extremely dangerous and their myth paints them as ruthless monsters that will destroy everything in their path. Metallion has also been mistaken for being a Legendary Pokemon due to an attraction to places that worship such Pokemon. This is merely coincidence. Metallion is drawn to treasure and these places of worship tend to be full of it.
Diet, Habitat, and Behavior
- Metallion, like Koinse, is capable of digesting almost any material it takes into its body. Unlike Koinse, however, Metallion has compartments inside its mouth to store items it wants to keep. It will eat anything put in front of it and sort objects it may want to keep later on.
Metallion tends to live in secluded, dark places by preference but it is perfectly capable of surviving on the surface. The surface is just a harder place to rest and find the treasures it so cherishes. Metallion rarely grow up safe in the wild so their reclusive tendencies and violent nature make them dangerous things to stumble upon. If you suspect to be in a Metallion's territory, drop several valuables and look for the nearest exit possible.
Metallion is known for being a reclusive and mysterious creature but it is ultimately simple in its nature. It was created to hunt and secure treasure and that is its core goal in life. It often develops cruel behaviors as a side effect of Koinse often being the victim of opportunistic predators or humans seeking the treasure Koinse tries to protect. While viciousness is an easily learned behavior, Metallion can be a fierce and loyal protector if given the right environment to thrive and nurture more noble behaviors. Left to its own devices, Metallion will almost never develop a noble disposition as it simply does not benefit from trying to help others.
