However, once he warms up to someone, he's a loyal friend and willing to bail them out of any jam. He takes any betrayals quite seriously. He's a bit slow to forgive them for it and usually cuts all contact while he's recovering from it.
History: Born and raised in Celadon, he was raised by his parents. He grew up without a dad for a while when there was a split in the family over priorities. His dad kept visiting the Game Corner after working in the Department Store, sinking unknown amounts of money into those infernal tokens. His mother worked in the bicycle shop as a mechanic, fixing bicycles brought in by customers. They were by no means wealthy, but they got by okay.
From when he was 6 and until he turned ten, he was practically raised by his grandmother. During this period, his mom was working hard to provide for him on her own. She was working overtime and had run into a computer nerd. They began to date when he was 8 or 9, finally hitching when he was 10. Thomas was content to read about the world, as he had difficulties making lasting friendships in school.
As he grew older, his parents intervened on what seemed to be an unhealthy habit. The mountains of books, he had were consuming his every waking moment. They told him he couldn't live like this forever, with only books as his window to the outside and hatched a plan to jump start his apparent dream to become a professor or teacher.
Between them, they mustered the tokens to get him a present. That present was an Eevee from the Game Corner. Thomas was overjoyed with the 15th birthday present. So overjoyed that he didn't register that he had been pushed outside and told to go explore the world he had read so much about. With a few thousand in his pocket, he was going to experience the practical and build upon the theoretical he had been so fervently reading in his room.
Appearance/Physical Description: Sleek and slight, he wears jeans and sneakers. For tops, it's usually a printed tee or sweater, depending on the season. He keeps his somewhat unruly copper hair under a baseball cap. He tends up wear glasses over his hazel eyes as a correction for nearsightedness that he was born with. Other than that and the standard issue ball belt and pack, he has nothing else on his person.
