This enormous factory, its true purpose a mystery, sprawls over countless acres, a labyrinth of industry and machinery. Miles of conveyor belts and metal walkways crisscross the interior, weaving through a maze of complex, inscrutable machines that never cease their motion. The relentless cacophony of grinding gears, roaring blast furnaces, and pounding heavy machinery fills the air, a deafening symphony of industrial might that drowns out all other sounds. The atmosphere is heavy with the pungent scent of oil, tinged with the metallic bite of rust.Navigating this environment is perilous, the constant movement of machinery posing a constant threat. It's crucial to stay vigilant, ensuring the ground beneath your feet isn't part of a giant conveyor belt that could sweep you away, or that a seemingly solid ledge doesn’t lead straight into the gaping maw of grinding gears. The sheer scale and relentless activity of the factory make it a formidable and dangerous place, where every step must be taken with caution. Expertly hidden in this colossal factory is the one Pokémon that can truly call this place home.  Julian MalcolmThe next door was one of glowing energy constructed from thin air. Julian wondered just how this place worked. Theoretically, he'd have to be pretty far off the ground with how far up he'd climbed. It felt like he hadn't gone up very high at all though. It felt like he was still on ground level. The next place he climbed up into, the door disappearing behind him, seemed to be entirely made out of metal. He was in some sort of factory. There were conveyor belts, heavy machines, etc. He looked down at his Pokemon, ready to say something when he realized. He saw Quilava's mouth move, and didn't hear his voice.Oh... his hearing had abandoned him again. He felt more isolated now than ever. He'd had such a gift, and if the door hadn't vanished he'd have gone back and stayed there. His jaw set, and he was... not only sad, but seriously angry. He began looking around for another Pokemon, something he could battle and let out his anger. Thankfully, one came along in the form of a steel ant. It was crawling along the wall. He snapped his fingers to get Quilava's attention. Quilava understood, and shot a Fire Blast attack that struck the wall and shook the entire building. With his hearing gone again, Julian had to rely on his other senses to remain as alert. He had to be able to see everything, so his head and eyes were kept on a swivel. After all, you never knew what these Pokemon were going to do. Or, for that matter, what they wanted. They could attack at any moment, or scamper off and warn whatever guardian controlled that particular floor. Quilava walked beside Julian, ready at a moment's notice to launch another Fire Blast attack. Tank walked behind him in case of an attack from behind, and Noctowl was perched on Tank's leafy head. He could keep an eye out in all directions from his position. The rest were safely put up in their Pokeballs.
The place was like a ghost town, like a factory out of a scary movie. You wanted to scream to the kids; 'don't go in there!', but they always did, and the unseen evil always attacked. Was there something out there even now, stalking him and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike? He didn't want to find out, but he felt safer with his Pokemon at his side.

The boy lead his Pokemon through the abandoned factory, wondering just what would happen next. There were plenty of possibilities; whether another wild Pokemon appeared, they were challenged by another Guardian, or he found an interesting item. He would just have to wait and see. He glanced down to Quilava, smiling a tiny bit despite his sadness. He still wanted to keep their morale up. If that note were any judge, he had a long way to go before he made it through this place.

Julian looked back at Noctowl, perched on Tank's head. He waved his fingers in a circle above his head, signalling that he wanted Noctowl to fly around and scout the area. The owl flew off of his perch and disappeared into the darkness. Julian wasn't concerned, not only could the Pokemon see in the dark, but he'd gotten quite a bit stronger. Julian trusted that any of his Pokemon could watch out for themselves now.
Losing himself in thought, Julian grinned to himself when he thought about how easy the next gym battle was going to be. With stronger Pokemon, it would make for an easier, and quicker, battle. That is, if he could find a way out of this strange place. More than once, the idea crossed his mind that this was nothing more than some prolonged dream; that he would wake up in the forest with nothing having changed. He didn't want to think about that though, and forced the thought from his mind.

Without warning, a Bronzor appeared. Julian wasn't sure how he remembered the name, or where he'd read it before... he didn't honestly remember ever seeing one in a book or in person. He still knew the name though, which was strange. He nodded down to Quilava, who stepped forward into battle. Flames shooting from his back, Quilava fired a massive Fire Blast attack.
Hitting the Pokemon as it was floating in mid-air, it didn't stand a chance. It fell out of the sky and landed, unconscious, onto the ground with a 'thud'. Quilava had done good, becoming victorious in yet another battle.

The strange sound of clashing metal drew the attention of Julian's Pokemon. They all turned to look in that direction, and the Trainer could tell something was up. The sound of metal against metal got nearer and nearer. The source finally revealed itself as a Pokemon that Julian had never seen before. He knew that it had to be a Steel-Type Pokemon though, the Guardians were always the same type as the resident Pokemon living in each landscape. Julian motioned for Hoothoot to attack. The owl started flying towards the moving gears, but it was way faster than they expected.
Klinklang shot a narrow blast of a Flash Cannon attack like... well, like a cannon. The beam of energy hit Noctowl, but the owl quickly brushed it off and remained air-borne. He used Hypnosis, putting the enemy to sleep. Not willing to waste an opportunity, Julian recalled Hoothoot and sent Quilava in to finish the match. He shot a Fire Blast attack, which exploded on contact. When the smoke cleared, Julian was stunned to see the Pokemon was still hovering there, still asleep. Quilava also looked surprised, but readied a second Fire Blast. The second blast was enough to secure their victory over the most powerful of the Steel Types in this factory.
Walking a bit further, they came across an active escalator, which seemed strange to Julian. Still, it went up which seemed like a good thing to the Trainer. Up was good.

Loki's jowls raised at the almost putrid scent as it was over powering for the first few seconds as his sharp green eyes scanned the area around them. Demeter did well to return Rhydon before any further damage was done as she too looked around to the factory that they had now entered.
"Alright, so steel types? We've gone through eight types now for those first six challenges. We're starting to run low on probable opponents," Calcifer spoke out, surprising both Loki and Demeter a bit at the ghost's commentary.
"Who knew you were paying such close attention," Demeter mused then with a smirk as she released the two Pokemon that she knew would be able to handle a steel type opponent when it came down to it, releasing the Cyndaquil and Buea from their Pokeballs.
Buea was the first to find her first unsuspecting victim as an Aron wandered into their line of sight, and the Arbok was quick to flare her fan with a snap of her fangs as they ignited with fire. Her strong body lunged forward as she struck hard and fast at the Aron, sending it clamboring back into the many machines that made up the factory they found themselves in. The Cyndaquil made easy work of walking along the cold metal floor as his claws clicked along the tiles, turning to find a Klefki jingling towards him from behind a machine of sorts. The Cyndaquil barely paid it any mind as his red fire flared on his back, and he sent a wave of embers and flame at the key ring, sending it back into the sea of machinery. They were in the seventh challenge now, and were gaining ground quickly, she only wondered what lay at the end of these challenges.
Buea was slithering effortlessly along the steel floors of the factory, her eyes sharp and ever shifting as she kept her senses open for approaching opponents, and found a challenge in a Mawile that dropped from a conveyor belt above, it's head hissing at the cobra. Buea hissed back as her fangs sparked to life, and she struck with fire in her mouth at the Mawile that was quickly sent back into the array of machines that lined the walls beside them. Moving along the ground and through a row of machines, with her tactical training Buea knew that if they split up to cover more ground they would have a better chance of encountering this latest opponent of theirs. However, she was only crossed by a Klink that came through a space in between two computers, and the snake didn't waste any time in striking with her fangs coated in flames to send it away. The small computer made some motion to attack, but was only able to freeze up at a bout of fire that scorched it's metallic body as it only barely managed to hover away at being defeated. She remained ever vigilante, but was sure to try and listen for Demeter if she was being summoned, though at some points it was hard to hear over all of the whirring machines and blasting furnaces, so much so that she almost didn't notice an Aron coming towards her, which she sent away with a strike of her fire coated fangs. There were so many moving parts, conveyor belts especially, that if they took one wrong step, they could end up being minced. The Cyndaquil carried on beside them all and did his best to stay out of the way of any moving parts as a Pawniard came from the machinery and issued it's challenge with it's sharpened blades, but the fire type was little phased as he issued a heat wave attack, sending the steel type back into the mazes of computers. His wonderings were stopped though at a Honedge that cut in front of his path, it's blade just barely in front of his face, but the fire type did little else but release another bout of flame from his back, assuring his small victory. The cobra only looked with sharp eyes though at the issue of a one sided challenge, and with her fangs coated in flames, she sent off that Klink as well in defeat, merely slithering along on her way from her victory. A Ferroseed came from behind a large rectangular computer and tried to attack before the fire type could retaliate, but the Cyndaquil was fast and had his fire ready as he attacked the Ferroseed with a heatwave, effectively sending it back into the expanses of the factory. The Pokemon here were weak, no doubt only minions that could attack in droves for the real opponent for this environment, and that proved true enough for a Magnemite that came rushing in her direction sparking angrily at her. Buea only waited for her opportune moment before striking with her strong body, catching the Magnemite in her ignited fangs before dropping it to the floor with a 'clang', moving on past the defeated Magnemite. He almost liked that the sounds of the factory drowned them out for the most part, but he knew his hearing was going to suffer if they stayed around the grinding gears for too long. His thoughts were disrupted though as another Ferroseed came in for a challenge, but was just as quickly sent back into the machinery with a heat wave attack. Low and behold though a Klink came from the surface of a moving conveyor belt to challenge the intruder, but was sent in retreat after being met with fire and flame from the Cyndaquil's back.
