Leafstone Nature Reserve: Coast and Tributary

Liz didn't know how to feel about everything around them. Josette was trying to levitate, and failed, and then...this was Angelique? She looked pretty, but she definitely reminded Liz of her own Bounsweet. She could see how Marcellus might be something of an expert on the subject of wicked Pokemon. Athena's static display made Liz think twice--again--about touching her in the future. A little disappointing considering that Electivire fur looked a lot softer than one might assume. She also noted that Marcellus had moved to stop her, making it quite clear what Athena would have liked to do anyway. She couldn't help but enjoy Styx, who was like a gigantic cat. He was quite intimidating with his size and only being able to growl like an impending rock slide, but she could at least get the context. Sounded like a happy Onix to her!

"Aww, don't worry. I'm sure you'll--" Liz was in the middle of encouraging Josette when Angelique--whom Liz was learning to dislike on principle alone--declared that she could definitely float. The resulting calamity that ended with two Smoochum having a slap fight on the beach had Liz inching back while covering her mouth. At least Cherry only shouted. And Belle had yet to throw a tantrum of this magnitude. She looked up to Cronus and Marcellus as if asking for a rescue when Angelique was separated from her sister and put in time out. It certainly was one way to handle the issue. And for all of Marcellus' concerns about Angelique, the Smoochum behaved herself when put away like that. That had to mean there was still hope for Belle. Liz sorely prayed there was hope for Belle...Cronus' remark about new people made Liz flush slightly, glancing at the sand and hugging Diggle as if she were somehow unaware that they were all strangers until now. There was nothing in the Mewtwo's remark that indicated anything, Liz was fabricating her own ideas of intonation as a result of her newfound nervousness.

When Marcellus asked about Liz's companions, the redhead had to think about it before she crossed her feet and dropped into a cross-legged position where she'd stood. Placing Diggle in her lap, the young woman collected seven balls and began touching buttons to first expand and then open them. Cherry and Belle joined Diggle in her lap with each resting on a different thigh, the latter caught in a one-armed hug before she could run off, while others came out around her in positions they found most comfortable. Astro hovered in the air, soaking in the new faces and Pokemon he had no earthly hope of defeating at this stage in his life. His attention lingered on Athena as he contemplated just what it would take to beat her...or at least get some training from her. Fluffy the Mareep was laying with her stubby legs tucked under her body like a giant yellow cotton ball. Lucky appeared in the air by Astro and fell on top of Fluffy where she bounced off before the static charge could shock her and flipped in the air to land in front of Josette with a flourish. Gus, Liz's new Seel, launched all the way into the water where he was floating happily and staring at the group curiously. The last ball to open up was Liz's new Noibat. The little creature appeared in the air like Astro, but she immediately fell after afew tired flaps and had to be caught by Liz. She had been healed by the Pokemon Center, but she still looked uneasy. The little Noibat covered her sensitive eyes with her wings and whined her distress while Liz hugged her to her chest. "I-I guess this Noibat doen't do well in sunlight. Hold on." Without thinking, Liz grabbed a handful of left sleeve and ripped the seam. Some fidgeting and more tearing ended with Noibat wearing a makeshift bonnet that shielded her face and offered some relief from the harsh sun. She was at least able to look around without it hurting, and that worked for Liz. "I have others, but...they're in Storage." Liz explained, frowning as it was quite clear the young trainer didn't like the way this system worked. "So this is my Noibat, the newest member of the family. And you met Cherry and Belle and Diggle. That's Fluffy. Lucky is my Spinda there. Gus is that little white spot out on the water...?" She gestured to each Pokemon in turn, then pointed up to... "A-Astro? Astro!?" Astro had flown up to Athena's face, in the middle of declaring that they would have an amazing battle, when his short attention span fell on Josette. "You look strong! I'm pretty strong too! We should Battle when I get big like you! It's gonna be epi--HOLY MILTANK, DO YOU SEE THAT! IT'S A PRINCESS! Hold on." Astro was an animated little Ledyba, hovering side to side in front of Athena's face like a bug that needed swatted before zooming over to Josette, nearly bowling Lucky over in his excitement. He was hovering in a loose figure eight pattern that would make it difficult for Josette to focus on him as he was zeroed in completely on the lovely Smoochum. "This is so great. I've never met a real live princess before. Are you from here? Do you need saving? Where's the Dragonite? I'll knock his block off!" Astro was far too energetic for a normal conversation, but he still had the presence of mind to take breathers in between bombardments. Athena might have been interrupted from answering him, but Josette was given a moderate window after he declared his intention to punch a Dragonite. Liz shouldn't have been surprised, but she was shocked and embarrassed that her Ledyba was already harassing Marcellus' Pokemon when he hadn't even been out of the ball for a full minute. He was certainly a handful...

Liz huffed out a heavy sigh and shook her head at the way Astro zipped and bothered Marcellus' Pokemon. She was lucky--Astro too--that Marcellus' team were mostly good sports. Athena sparked, but didn't attack Astro like she was expecting the Electivire to, and Josette was completely willing to play along with her heroic little Ledyba. "I forget that Astro steals everybody's enthusiasm sometimes." The redhead mused with a soft smile. It made sense. Even with Lucky dancing and stumbling about, she didn't exactly seem determined to go anywhere or do any particular thing. A real "go with the flow" kind of Spinda. That made Astro the most boisterous of Liz's Pokemon by far. "Ohh, mannnn~! You're my kinda princess, Princess!" He flew in close, able to control his hover just enough to keep from bumping into the beautifully dressed Smoochum. Astro did have the ability to sense when he was outmatched, but he lacked the sense to be afraid of powerful Pokemon. They only made him more excited to get to their level! One little fist pointed right at Josette,accidentally bumping her nose when his hovering shifted. "We're gonna get big one day! And thennn~ we have to, have to, have to fight! After I beat your guard captain up there." He drew back with an apologetic thrum of his wings when he noticed he'd bopped her, then gestured to Athena. "She called first!" A lofty-minded Ledyba for certain. Twice in the same stretch of minutes, Astro had already declared himself rival of two very powerful females. "And you too, buddy! And you! And yo--whoooaa~! I donno if I can hit you enough times even if I get big!" Astro had pointed at Cronus with his first declaration, then at Ryer, and he stopped while making a gesture to Styx. He forgot how huge Onix could get. "But I'm gonnnn~a try!" While obnoxious with his constant declaration of intent to fight with every one of Marcellus' Pokemon, Astro was a pretty lovable goof. He had a chance, it was one in a million, but he had a chance and he took that as something worth doing. Annoying for anyone that might take pride in their battle ability, but a respectable trait for the Bug.

Liz was pretending she understood the big speech Astro just made, watching the others' reactions for a better idea on if she should apologize for it. She looked up to Marcellus who had mentioned a manor house instead of a storage system. "Manor? You keep your Pokemon at home!?" Having little understanding of how this side of the Pokemon world worked, Liz honestly had no clue that she could keep her Pokemon someplace other than the Storage System. "How? What do I have to do? Who do I talk to!?" Maybe it was Astro having an effect on his trainer, but Liz had a fiery determination in her eyes that made undoubtedly clear her desire to keep her Pokemon as best she could. Letting them stay with Mom was a good substitute. Any reservations she may have had before about their different topics and disagreements might just disappear forever if Marcellus taught Liz how to get her extra Pokemon sent back home. "Mom would love to have more babies to watch. And Arol and Junior too! Please, help me!" She cried in delight, the enthusiasm going so far as to giving Marcellus the unshakeable feeling that he could see little hearts in Liz's eyes and another like a stamp on her tongue when she spoke. A golden opportunity to win the redhead's affection was present and only Marcellus could decide how the situation turned out. Liz was fidgeting in place, trying not to pounce on her new acquaintance as if that would somehow force him to tell her.

Astro's excitement continued to grow with Styx's patient acceptance of a battle and only bubbled over when Novu came in. Honestly, the Ledyba hadn't even noticed the Bulbasaur. He would have felt bad, but the child-like Grass Pokemon got him all wound up again! "Are you kiddinn~g!? Of course we're gonnnn~a fight! It'll be the best fight! In history! Ever! I'll save you for last!" Astro shouted, officially marking Novu as the strongest of his rivals in the little bug's mind. He couldn't just go fighting the strongest guy first, that was hardly fair! He buzzed down to Novu and picked up one of his limp vines before making an impromptu fist bump with the tired Bulbasaur. Maybe Astro needed a kite...

At the moment, Astro was definitely not the only living thing that could use Novu's exhaustion right now. Liz was quietly squeaking as Marcellus calmly explained how he had Cronus shifting Pokemon out of the Storage system. That sounded illegal, but it also made tears prick the redhead's eyes as it sounded like it would be impossible without Marcellus and Cronus around any time she needed to move a Pokemon. When he further explained the space and contact necessary, it brought her right back up. Nurse Joy could help, and Liz already lived on a farm! "Are you kidding?!" It sounded angry at first with how much energy was behind the shout, but the expression of a large child made clear she was only bursting with enthusiasm. "My mother lives on a farm! We even have a small place for Ice Pokemon to stay! Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Marcellus was probably prepared for a lot, but Liz acting completely on impulse wasn't exactly something you "anticipated" easily. She was smaller than him, and definitely looked like a soft young lady. That illusion would be shattered if he failed to avoid the bear hug she would give upon lunging at him. If Marcellus was captured, he would be squeezed tightly in strong arms with her chest mashed against his torso as she expressed her gratitude with a little more force than intended. "Thank you so much!" Liz exclaimed once more, punctuating that with a decision she wasn't so sure of making herself. It was a kiss on the cheek, but it was still very close to the male's mouth and far more intimate than the girl was used to sharing. She just couldn't help her enthusiasm and Marcellus was to thank for all of it. If Marcellus reacted in just the wrong way, then it could just as easily become an accidental kiss.

((Oh man, that sucks. No worry about that. Hope it settles for you soon. It's also your choice if Liz accidentally kisses Marcellus. She's just very eager to show appreciation. She had no idea she could do these things.))

Novu listened to Astro's confusion as well. He didn't know what to think really... There was so much that happened that he didn't understand. Astro them commented on them making eggs together... Making eggs? "um... Marcellus makes eggs in the mornings some times... But it's not morning anymore." Novu added, his naivety of everything really shining through. "I like mine scrambled..." He commented without really thinking. Josette chimed in quickly looking from the trainers then back to Astro and Novu quickly. "No, they aren't dating... And they definitely are not having babies or eggs." Josette made clear, speaking quickly and quietly so the trainers wouldn't hear.

Marcellus's face was still a light shade of pink as he still tried to avoid eye contact with Liz, having been flustered from his narrow miss. He was usually one to have all the cards, or have a strategic plan to get through almost any situation, but something like this had caught him completely off guard. If that weren't enough, a large gust of went swept across the beach, smacking the group dead on. Salem was the quickest to react and made a run for it, and dove into Angelique's 'sand Castle' which was more of a hole then anything. Josette used her many layers of dress to keep herself from the brutal gusts of sand. Marcellus tried to shield his eyes as his smooth white hair, and large, puffy like, shirt whipped violently in the gusts. He felt an all to familiar embrace once again, feeling Liz on him once more. Marcellus recoiled once more and quickly stood up to avoid anymore contact. Marcellus brushed what little hair was in his face back as he looked around at his wind blown Pokemon. Athena, Cronus, and Styx were all un-phased, while Novu, and Josette had been taken back a bit, as well as the little red smoochum was now peeking out form behind the lounge chair she was serving her time in. Marcellus was use to the gusts, he didn't like them one bit, but once you allow a flying type enthusiast to live with you for an extended amount of time, you get use to it. But this Pidgeot he didn't recognize. Emiri's looked bit different, from this one, seeing it's long mane of feathers a tad different. He looked over to the teen that dismounted it and returned the flying type. The look on the teens face was enough to make Marcellus forget how flustered he was, and was force to look to Cronus with a bit of confusion, wondering what he had done. Cronus merely shook his head slightly, expressing that he wasn't going to explain it. However, as the teen neared them, Liz exclaimed. So she knew him, that was good at least, but his hostile energy was very easy to pick up on for the psychic, as he eyed the teenager over and watched the male closely. Liz called him Julian, and quickly blurted out a few questions followed by a blunder with Astro. Marcellus, Josette, most of his Pokemon, and even Angelique, didn't know exactly where to pay attention. Liz's outburst, or the newcomer named Julian. Marcellus glanced to Liz after a moment of silence and decided to break it. "I suppose an introduction is in order. I'm Marcellus." Marcellus tried to greet, and end the silence. Marcellus didn't share in Liz's guilt or embarrassment, he knew he didn't do anything wrong, there was another around and he was ready to forget the flustered moment he had had.

Astro's head was spinning from the impact, wavering even in Liz's arms as the boys traded uneasy interactions. Liz remained silent when Noctowl came out and nothing happened. She didn't know Noctowl had lost Psychic, so she was feeling that he must be punctuating his current feelings. Bringing out his interpreter just to make clear he was refusing to speak to her. The redhead's expression fell from panic to shameful dismay and she ducked her head in kind. "I-I'm sorry..." She murmured, barely loud enough for even Marcellus to hear, hoping Noctowl was at least sharing her thoughts with him. Ultimately, Cronus or Josette or even Angelique were the only ones capable of sharing Julian's thoughts right now and it would be up to one of them to point out some communication flaws in this situation. If nobody else conveyed Julian's thoughts Liz was going to keep feeling as though he hated her now. Diggle was less agitated now that Julian wasn't attacking anybody, but she was still wary. The Aron kept her place in front of Liz and was now watching Julian uneasily. Having known both her trainer and her boyfriend for so brief a time, Diggle was in uncharted territory and unsure of how to approach the hostile boy. The rest of Liz's Pokemon were now gathered around her with Belle the only one not really worried about her trainer being so upset. Lucky hugged onto the girl's leg in a small effort to comfort her, Noibat was ready to screech in his face if he came toward Liz in an aggressive manner.

If things were at one hundred before, they floored it to one thousand. Before really any conversation could start, as Marcellus would have assumed, Julian began to mentally, but thanks to Cronus now verbally, attack them angrily. Marcellus was just so taken aback by everything. Everything was flying by so quickly, running into Liz, her excitement, then the forced kiss, then now this hostility. Marcellus could only assume that the teenager was defensive of his friend, or what ever she maybe to him, but what Marcellus couldn't fathom was why he was made at him. Even if they had been kissing, Marcellus had no knowledge of Julian, why wasn't he yelling at Liz? Marcellus was always a thinker and a strategist, he always planned ahead for the best possible out come. Attacking the innocent party didn't make sense to him, but as Cronus would explain that jealously often didn't make sense. Or he would if he wasn't already focused and annoyed. Julian began to remind Marcellus of a distinct young girl he met months prior at the Ball after things had gone soul. She had been split off with him and the group, and was apparently afraid of thunder. At the mention of searching for their stolen Pokemon, she began shouting at him which made no sense to him, just as this was now. Though, he wouldn't admit it, but that girl definitely was a bit more ridiculous then he was, which he was glad, but only just. If there was any thing in Marcellus that was forgiving towards the deaf teen, it went right out the window. "I was, actually. I was sorry that your apparent handicap was so disabling you couldn't speak, but I was clearly wrong to feel that way." Marcellus replied, keeping the calm tone he had before, only it had icy undertones that replaced his once friendly voice. Not only was he angering Marcellus, he had the audacity to call Cronus stupid. Cronus began to leer into the male. The psychic was sitting as he floated in the air, though it wasn't necessary since he was levitating, but since both Marcellus and Liz sat it would be the 'friendly' thing to do. But Cronus's legs unfolded under him as the sand beneath him began to writhe causing ever changing grooves that seemed to make the sand appear to be in pain. He didn't attack Julian, he wanted to see his next move. He could feel the hostility from him and was daring him to attack. He then began to throw out all his Pokemon, releasing his pidgeot once more, followed by a typhosion, Arcanine, Persian, Exeggcutor, Nightrial, and surprisingly Zekrom. The mood went from mildly annoyed to tense. Julian was now threatening them, and with stronger Pokemon then Marcellus would give him credit for. Novu began to inch behind Marcellus, hiding behind his legs, as the larger Pokemon were released, while Cronus didn't blink. Josette stood her ground as well as she sand beneath her began to freeze. Athena and Styx began to both move closer to Marcellus, readying themselves if they have to, though Styx held onto Athena, coiling his tail around her to stop her form going in and taking the first punch. Though, she didn't attack, her antenna began to spark loudly, starting to sound like a Tesla coil. Pon stood bravely in front of Marcellus as he glared at the opponents, ready to jump into battle. Ryer did the same, moving closer to his trainer, but staying back behind them, so just n case he could avoid actually battling, but he was ready to strike if the time called for it. While Angelique stayed hiding behind the chair and watching as Salem snuck up into the chair with her. "This will be good..." He commented, always one to watch the chaos. Aphrodite and Hephaestus both began to move closer to shore, seeing the two square off, as Andromeda watched from further out, towering out of the waters. Marcellus wasn't focused on Julian anymore, he was stuck on the two Dragons in the area. His breath caught in his throat as Zekrom rose into shape. It and his Pokemon didn't do anything it seemed, just backed up their trainers, but it's and the nightrial's presents were enough to severely unnerve Marcellus. It took him at least a year before he was alright being in the same room as Emiri's dragon like Pokemon, and that was after they fought along side each other, and had his life saved by them a few times. And now there is two standing opposed him. He wasn't marveling at the exoticness of the dragon, unbeknownst to him he had his own shiny one, or marveling over the legendary. He wanted them gone. Destroyed. Gone and never to be seen by him again. Not only was it that he was scare of most larger dragon types, but he hated them. After it was speculated that his father was killed by a dragon type, and confirmed without Marcellus's knowledge by Cronus, He couldn't find it in himself to appreciate the beasts, or care at all for them. But soon enough, Liz let out an outburst telling them to stop. The suddenness of it make Marcellus flinch, but none of his Pokemon moved or blinked. They had been in life threatening situations, and they weren't about to take this threat sitting down. Marcellus watched Liz run away, almost wanting to stop her, but decided to let her go due to this mess being her fault. He turned his attention back to Julian as Cronus spoke up. "Since, you're such a big and mighty teenager, I'm sure you can help yourself, even with your own clear inability to function on your own, so you don't really need my 'stupid' help." Cronus commented, shutting off his connection to the group, making it so he could still hear, but not throw in his own input, letting his own Pokemon put in the effort if he wanted to speak. "Oh, but please do try and attack, or throw a punch. Before you or your Pokemon can finish the thought, you'll find yourselves in the middle of the ocean." Cronus warned, his red eyes bearing into Julian. "Or maybe the bottom of it. I don't care what-" He continued, glancing to Zekrom. "-you have on your team." He spoke. And if Julian actually did now who and what Cronus was, he knew Cronus had the capacity to kill. He didn't really understand how the young teenager knew who he was, most who knew about him specifically were all killed off in the lab explosion, while most of those that knew about his brother had their memories wiped. Granted his brother had caused even more trouble in the past, which annoyed him, being so sloppy... But he couldn't do anything about it. Granted, Cronus wasn't going to just kill someone off and send them to the bottom of the ocean for the fun of it. Only when push came to shove. By now, the sand around Cronus had started to warp upwards, floating around him unnaturally.

Marcellus wasn't sure what the next move was, everything so far had been so strange and unpredictable to him. He didn't know if they were about to battle, or if things were going to calm down now that Liz ran off. Marcellus couldn't tell if Cronus was threatening or warning, but he knew Cronus would get rid of them one way or another. Even with Zekrom, and the Nightrial he had Marcellus was confident his Pokemon would come out of top. Whether Cronus teleported them to the bottom of the ocean or not. He was curious as to where the black dragon came from, but he wasn't about to ask anything from him. They had battled Missingno., Darkrai twice, Josette was thrown 1000 years in the past by celebi and devolved as a consequence, and then fought for their lives, and to get Styx back, at a ball. And now this? By a teenager of all things? "Before we dig this grave any deeper. I'm on vacation. I would like to avoid a battle like this if at all possible." Marcellus spoke, turning his attention back to Julian. Marcellus left it up to Julian. Marcellus could tell that Cronus shut out the teen, but he was sure Julian could figure it out. His own Exeggutor could speak, they never stopped, so he was sure it could translate for him.
