 Far from any civilization, deep in the heart of Johto's eastern mountain ranges where few venture and even fewer return, lies Mt. Silver. Many a trainer, and most residents in eastern Johto know of the mountain and the stories that surround it, for most are true and some gruesome to hear, recounting the horrible conditions one would encounter in trying to travel it's depths. Within the mountain itself is miles and miles of cavernous tunnels so dark inside in most spots that it's said even a flash light doesn't help. The tunnels will lead anyone on days of walking and traversing, where you'll end up deep below the earth's surface or start to emerge into the mountain's higher summits. The peak of this mountain is the real goal for anyone who dares to test their mettle against the mountain's slopes, but not only are the Pokemon here strong and highly agressive, but the higher one goes towards it's peak, the more unbearable the conditions become with snow storms and blizzards that are frequent at the top of the mountain.

Stone Edge TM for Sinai replaced CrunchHaving done her research on the Johto region in preparation for her travels and quite possibly the most important mission for her career, Demeter was well aware of where some of the strongest Pokemon in the region could be located for some training that she knew needed to occur. Loki and Calcifer like always were the least of her concerns, but Kyre and Lucero could still stand to train to make sure they had little weakness to show, but her main focus was going to be the newest addition to her ranks, Sinai the Mawile. The steel type’s reputation through Cipher was nothing to take lightly, she was tenacious and had a good drive that gave her a good record, but Demeter had yet to work with the steel type for herself and needed to see what the Mawile could do. That said, what better way to test the potential of the weakest link than pit them against some of the strongest wild Pokemon that she could find?
Back on track with her mission and her training, Demeter had Naveera transport herself and Loki to the east of Blackthorn City towards the Mt. Silver mountain range which was acclaimed by the most elite trainers as a place to challenge the most feral and aggressive Pokemon in the region. Flying that way, Demeter could understand why the Pokemon would be both powerful and as aggressive as they were known to be because of how far away from the main of the region it was and how harsh the environment seemed to be. In the distance Demeter could see snow capped mountain tops, and some she couldn’t even see because of thick clouds that covered the tops in what she could assume was harsh snow storms. She wasn’t looking to make some life changing journey through the region’s harshest environment to prove to herself and her Pokemon that they could make it through anything together and they could go the distance though, she actually wondered how many trainers thought something similar and had to turn back, or flat didn’t make it back from their trek...Another thought for another day. Landing in the outskirts of the mountain range, Demeter dismounted with Loki beside her without an illusion to shroud him, and to avoid any further vetting from Naveera on why it had taken so long for them to earn the last badge of the region, she returned the dragon so she could focus on why they were really there. A rather large Parasect came through the trees almost instantly at there being a disturbance in its environment, and Demeter didn’t waste any time in sending Sinai forward as she released the Mawile from her Pokeball, wanting to test her reaction time in being faced with an enemy that lunged forward as soon as it had something in front of its claws.

Sweet Bouquet 2/7 The large bug type effectively defeated, Demeter watched as it scuttled back into the trees as she stood there with Loki, facing Sinai now as the Mawile turned to look at her new commanding officer.
”Welcome Sinai, to your conditioning day. As I’m sure you’re aware, my operatives and myself have been traveling since the reconnaissance began, and needless to say we have garnered quite a bit of training and tactical work over the last few months. In light of your recent move, and knowing from your report that Barthlow was slacking, there is much for us to catch up on,” Demeter began, looking down to the Mawile in question as she spoke. She wasn’t being demeaning towards the steel type, nor trying to get off on the wrong foot necessarily, but if Sinai was going to be a part of her ranks, then she needed to be made aware of how Demeter ran things.
”To bring you up to speed, my operatives and I have been traveling the Johto Region under the guise of a traveling trainer, and have successfully infiltrated the Johto Pokemon League. We have challenged and defeated their gym leaders in succession, and will continue to work our way through the region’s best in order to gain access to intel that only the top in the region’s government are privy to,” Demeter explained, briefing the Mawile on what it was that they were accomplishing and what it meant to the recon mission. However, there were a few details that Demeter felt necessary to spare until further notice, namely how she planned to use the asset to destroy Cipher and create her own organization, that was information for a need to know basis.
Before Sinai had a moment to respond, another Parasect came through the trees, and Loki and Demeter took a step back to let Sinai have her shot at it, having already told her part of her expectations in being out from her Pokeball here. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Managing against the second Parasect that came through the trees, already Demeter could tell that Sinai was well trained and conditioned and could definitely take a hit. However, but types were hardly something that she was concerned about, there were far more powerful things that Demeter knew they would be going up against, especially if Sinai was going to be in the consideration for her final takeover.
”As I’m sure you’ve gathered, we’re here in this part of the Johto Region today to test your training. Barthlow might not have been keeping you at your top potential, and I need to make sure that for my plans to go through, I have the best team. You’re going to be training today against some of the tougher wild Pokemon in the region, and we’re going to make sure that you’ll be able to do well on our team for taking the region by storm,” Demeter explained, making her intentions clear and her expectations known. Demeter was patient and precise in her plans, she could very well spend all day and then some out there to make sure that Sinai was going to fit the potential that she needed. It wouldn’t be the first time that she had made such a point in her requirements, both Kyre and Lucero had been broken due to her patience, and if they needed a revisit of their expectations, she would be happy to oblige. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Having been interested to see how the Mawile was going to handle the ground type Quagsire, Demeter and Loki remained out of the way of the battle as the steel type fought to keep the upper hand of the battle. Sinai was in accordance now with what was going to happen, for as long as Demeter felt necessary, they were going to remain within this area and she was going to be pit against the aggressive wild Pokemon here. While it was daunting for the steel type, just being tossed around like she was a new piece of sports equipment to break in, she had to admit that the work out was actually welcome. Her administrator before her transfer had been slacking on his work, they were out on the field, sure, but it didn’t feel like they were really actively doing anything. The few others of her team were welcoming the “break” as they called it, the step away from the rigorous training they had been subjected to before, but Sinai knew that if she gave in like that, it was only going to make her soft. The battle was rough, ground types were her natural opposite but through her tenacity the Quagsire fell, but she was up against her next opponent before she had time to even make sure the Quagsire was through. The Mawile wondered how long Demeter was going to keep this up against the wild Pokemon, but she didn’t have time to question as a Poliwhirl came through the trees, fists at the ready. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Water types were nothing that Sinai couldn’t handle, she was already tough enough with her training to begin with, it was just added measure that she was a steel type and the water did little but wash right over her. She fought back against the Poliwhirl with still tenacious strength, she had a feeling there would be no room for anything else with her new commanding officer watching and evaluating her every move. While she felt this all to be trivial, and maybe even a little petty, Sinai was aware of Demeter’s strong reputation in the organization and the Pokemon that she worked with, and to be frank, it would be nice to be on such a commendable force. She watched some of her most recent teammates get axed from the organization as a whole as well because they weren’t performing up to standard, and that was not something that Sinai wanted to go through in the slightest. It wasn’t so much a fear tactic as it was a determination to perform better than those that she’d been forced to work with, to stand out, and that’s what she intended to do. Sinai had just barely sent the Poliwhirl off when the ground beneath her feet began to rumble, and it grew violently until there was a guttural roar and a spray of dirt and rocks where a very very large and very aggressive Onix burst into the area, roaring again as it glared down at another pink Mawile that snapped its jaws at the Rock type. Sinai watched in shock, only to see the other Mawile disappear as quickly as it had run through the trees, leaving her the target of the enormous serpent as it roared down at her. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Needless to say Demeter had been only slightly impressed watching Sinai go against opponents that were strong in this area, but bug types and water types were hardly anything that she would be concerned about regularly. She needed to know that the Mawile could really take a hit and pack a punch back, she needed to see some of the more aggressive Pokemon in this area go against her newest operative, and that was too easy a task for Loki whom had used an illusion of Sinai to lure in some much more interesting opponents. The Onix proved to be a powerful opponent, but it seemed that Sinai was able to gain the upper hand even on an opponent that was fifty times her size, and as Demeter watched the rock type in battle, she actually had a thought. When it came time to attend the meeting about their recon mission thus far, the organization was going to expect to have all of the Pokemon captured while each admin was traveling inducted into the system. This was to avoid the obvious of course in not allowing anyone to have Pokemon that belonged outside of the organization, or at least not have too many since she herself maintained Loki and Calcifer’s exclusion from the system. However, Demeter did not want to have Kyre or Lucero inducted either, they were very powerful and had proved exceedingly useful on her travels, and if she was going to enact her plans, she needed to start building forces of her own. If she caught a handful of Pokemon to present to the organization at the meeting, it was likely that she could keep Lucero and Kyre under wraps long enough to get out and not have to have them put into the system. And so as Sinai bested the Onix and the serpent fell to the ground, Demeter threw a Pokeball to capture the rock type. It seemed though that Loki had done a great job at riling up the Pokemon in the area as smoke and ash began to fill the air, and a Rapidash burst through the trees to attack. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Watching on as the battles continued, it seemed that Loki had done well in antagonizing some of the stronger Pokemon in the area in order to bring more of a fight to Sinai for her conditioning. The Rapidash that had burst through the trees, almost starting a forest fire due to its great strength, was really something to behold. Demeter contemplated capturing the fire type as well to bring back to the Cipher base, she was certain the horse would prove effective if it could be broken, but she decided it would be best to save her captures for the truly rare Pokemon. The Onix granted wasn’t a rare Pokemon by any means, but finding one that large and being able to subdue it for capture was not something that Demeter was going to pass up. If she could get the serpent to evolve into a Steelix, then it would be even more worth the capture, and she was certain that Cipher wouldn’t even question if she had any other Pokemon to cough up. To Demeter’s surprise, even the fire type Rapidash couldn’t stand up against Sinai’s power despite the intensity of its fire and the heat of its ash and smoke, for the steel type was able to best the horse while it turned in defeat to limp back into the trees. The Mawile turned back to look at Demeter and Loki, her arms crossed as if to ask if they were through with this charade, but before an answer could be given there was a crash of rocks and stone that came through the trees, where a Pupitar was hovering over the ground looking down at Sinai. The Mawile lowered her head with a sigh at having to go against another rock type, but didn’t waste a moment as she engaged the Pupitar. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Having done her research on the different areas of Johto that she would be traveling through in order to know what it was that she would be coming up against, Demeter was actually surprised to see some of the Pokemon that she had within this Mt. Silver range, particularly the Pupitar that Sinai was in battle with. The species itself was incredibly difficult to come by, and its final stage of evolution even more so, and this was exactly the kind of capture that would also get her in good with Cipher when she had to go out to the base meeting. Demeter watched carefully, the rock type was putting up a good fight against Sinai whom she knew was a tough opponent to go up against, which gave promise for the Pupitar’s potential. It was only in its first stage of evolution, so she could only imagine what kind of power it might have were it to evolve given the right nudge. Making up her mind, Demeter waited for the opportune moment, and the Pupitar was bested by Sinai, and she threw another Pokeball to make another capture to continue to build a small selection of candidates for Cipher to choose from. Taking the Pokeball in hand after the Pupitar had subdued to the capture, Demeter turned to get some specs on the new Pokemon while Sinai turned and found herself face to face with the snapping pincers of a Parasect that had come through the trees. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 It was already into the better part of the early afternoon since Demeter had moved her and her team to the base of the mount silver range after defeating Clair earlier that day. Demeter wasn’t sure how long she would want to stay out in that area for training, she knew that Sinai wasn’t the only one who needed some training to make sure that she was going to be able to enact her final plan over the Johto Region. She was really starting to trust the tenacity of the Pokemon that she had trained and worked with to infiltrate the league of the region thus far on her travels, but there was always room for improvement and preparations, failure and insubordination had no place in what she was trying to accomplish. These were good training grounds, and the Pokemon were proving to be rather strong, so she thought after spending some time with Sinai that she might get out Kyre to train some more too. The Parasect that the Mawile was squared off against did little to sway the battle in its favor as the steel type snapped her jaws at the bug, and it scuttled back into the trees in defeat, another victory under her belt. They weren’t finished with having her take the brunt of the wild Pokemon in the area though when another Quagsire lumbered through the trees. Demeter and Loki stood back still to evaluate the Mawile and keep her training going, watching her head off the battle against the water type. Sweet Bouquet 2/7 Now that Sinai had been out and against some tough opponents, and she could assume that that wasn’t the case with her previous commanding officer since they had been removed from the organization, already Demeter could see an improvement in Sinai’s battling, as though she were getting back into the tactics and methods that she had garnered and perfected for herself now being given the proper outlet for her strength. Despite the lack of real work that she might have missed out on, Sinai didn’t show any signs of fatigue which was promising, her stamina was still at pretty top performance which was a promising sign for her becoming a part of her commanding force. Demeter only wanted the best agents, and frankly while Naveera was still one of the best performing Pokemon she had ever worked with, she knew that the dragon was going to be the most difficult force in her overthrow of the organization. That was another trial for another day of course, but the more forces she could build that didn’t involve Naveera, the better off she would be in the long run when it did come time. They would either have to break and subdue the dragon, or convince her that this was the better option. Saving that for later, Demeter looked to find Sinai in battle with a rather large and rather aggressive Arbok that came through the trees, but she had a feeling that the poison type was going to be no match for Sinai now that the Mawile was getting back to her roots with battling and taking down opponents. Using Black Flute and Rainbow Spray to encounter Lv. 78 shiny Ursaring Considering whether or not Sinai had had enough, even for now in which she would begin to focus on another Pokemon, Demeter watched the battle finish up against the Arbok, and unsurprisingly enough the poison type just couldn’t hold its own against the Mawile. The snake slithered back into the trees, and Sinai brushed some mud off of herself while Loki glanced at Demeter, having been evaluating Sinai all the same. Being her first in command, the one to take charge should she be busy or otherwise, Loki paid as close attention as she did to make sure he was on the same page.
”Do I need to go attract some more targets for practice,” Loki inquired in a low voice, allowing Sinai just a moment to rest between the Pokemon that had been emerging for challenge. Demeter was contemplating this when there was a guttural roar that came through the trees. It wasn’t from a Pokemon they had yet to encounter during their time around the mountain base, and it was definitely apparent that the Pokemon in question was aggressive and possibly very strong by just the presence that the roar held. To Demeter’s surprise an Ursaring came crashing through the trees, claws bared and fangs lashing at anything that it might come into contact with. It was a larger Ursaring than Demeter knew the species to be on average, but it had very unique coloring and markings as well, it was clear to see that this was a rare find indeed.
”Sinai, engage to detain,” Demeter commanded, this Ursaring was going to be her final capture to present to Cipher, and she was confident that it would do the trick in keeping her few Pokemon under wraps and to herself. The Mawile stood at the command and locked eyes with the bear as it roared again at the call, and the Mawile lunged with snapping jaws to subdue the normal type. Activating VS seeker for three NPC battles At her command, Sinai met the Ursaring in battle as it rushed forward through the trees, and Demeter watched on both with the intention of capturing the bear for her upcoming meeting with Cipher and continuing with Sinai’s conditioning to make sure that she would be up to snuff with the rest of her team. So far the Mawile was performing very well, Demeter was pleased that she had been reassigned to her command, and it did send a small message from the admins that she had not yet been considered a debilitating factor in the reconnaissance mission since she was assigned a useful asset. She and Loki remained far enough away from the battle, waiting patiently for the opportune moment to strike, and Demeter was pleased as well with how the Ursaring was performing and how it’s strength was very clear to see. There was no question that she was going to have it registered to Cipher, it would be worth the set back to keep her few Pokemon out of the way, but she was heavily considering taking on the bear full time in her travels to keep working on her goals. Eventually Sinai was at a point of subduing the bear, it just couldn’t keep up with her tenacity and tactical training, and Demeter wasted no time in throwing a Pokeball to subdue the bear. It caught, and she was pleased with the few Pokemon that she had captured within the mountain range, but capturing the Ursaring did not come without its complications as Demeter heard shouts coming from the trees where the bear had emerged from. Demeter ordered Sinai back to her side as a trio of trainers rushed through the trees, only to find the area empty save for Demeter and Sinai, and Thomas whom now stood beside her.
”Where did it go, we had it,” a male trainer asked, exasperated as he leaned up against a Tropius that folded it’s wings at its sides.
”Hey, did you see an Ursaring go through here,” a female trainer asked then looking to Demeter, an Alolan Ninetails padding around her with its nose to the ground, attempting to catch the scent of the normal type that it seemed they were in pursuit of.
”You mean the darker colored one with the patterns in its fur,” Demeter asked knowingly as Loki snickered lightly behind the guise of Thomas’ illusion.
”Yeah, which way did it go? We’ve been tracking it all day,” the final male trainer spoke up, a Ferrothorn hovering above the ground around him as he moved forward.
”You’re pretty interested in that Ursaring, huh,” Demeter pressed then, glancing between the three trainers.
”It’s one of the strongest Pokemon we’ve seen training here, it’s been a challenge just to battle, it would be incredibly powerful to train,” the trainer with the Ninetails mentioned, and Demeter nodded along, agreeing with her of course.
”Those were my thoughts exactly when my Mawile knocked it out, I can’t wait to see what kind of potential it has for training,” Demeter mentioned then, glancing to the trainers whom all turned to face her then with an incredulous expression. Flare 2/5 Now having their full undivided attention, Demeter stood looking at the trainers as they all took a step forward towards her at her comment. The Tropius lumbered down with it’s trainer as the Nintails swept the ground with it’s tails, sensing the bit of tension that was starting to rise between their group and Demeter who stood at the head of it all.

The hound snarled and bared his teeth, snapping at the vine but was just a moment too slow to catch it in his teeth. However, the stream of flame he spit at the attacking mass hit directly. Tangela shrieed in pain, but attacked back with Ancient Power. They exchanged attacks to test each other, but in the end Tangela was forced to retreat or risk being burned from head to foot. Arcanine grinned in a doggy way as Julian nodded a congratulations and healed him up with Potions from his bag. Arcanine did very well, but it was a surprisingly difficult fight all things considered. Just a little Tangela here had given Arcanine a run for his money, he didn't want to imagine what it would be like when they found something bigger and badder. TL;DR

Once he was recovered, he felt ready to get back up and get out there for some more training. Arcanine was already out of the Pokeball, but to be safe he also brought out Persian. The cat wasted no time in finding someone to fight, choosing a Golbat flying around near the ceiling that was paying the no attention. That is, until Persian hit it without warning with a Thunder attack. The bolt of lightning made the entire cave tremble. The Golbat retaliated with Air Slashes and a Venoshock attack, but Persian used thunder again and knocked the bat directly out of the air.
Julian patted the cat and smiled down at her, nodding his approval. Persian gave a fiendish grin and went off on the prowl for more enemy Pokemon to attack. They weere here to train after all, so battling the wild Pokemon seemed the best way to accomplish that goal. At least until he could find some other Trainers to battle. If any other Trainers were even out here, that is. He might well be all alone up here. That idea made him slightly nervous, knowing that almost nobody ever came out here.
If he was injured, and his Pokemon beaten, he would be stranded without any way of getting help. He'd have to be very cautious about his actions up here lest their consequences get him killed. TL;DR

The battles here in Mt. Silver were tough, but he was more than a match. He would not be returning to civilization, nor to a Pokemon Center, until he was ready to take on the Elite Four. That was a big commitment which meant that if he or his team were injured out here, they would be forced to deal with that on their own. Julian would never abandon them, but neither would he abandon his cause at this juncture. He looked at his team and offered them a smile. They nodded their heads, telling him that they understood and felt the same way.
They'd developed this sort of connection over the years together, they needed almost no command from their Trainer to know what to do. Sometimes, like now, all it took was a nod at Arcanine for him to know he was up to bat against the wild Tangela that showed it's face. Julian felt bad because the Tangela hadn't done anything to them yet, but they were here to train and get stronger. Arcanine used Flamethrower, and Tangela countered with a Power Whip. The thick vines slammed into Arcanine, but it wasn't done there.
They then wrapped around him and started to constrict. The one around Arcanine's throat looked deadly, but the hound didn't panic. It used Close Combat, but that didn't work. The vines tightened more. He used Flamethrower, but that didn't do it either. Not until Arcanine used Reversal, dealing the amount of damage he'd already taken did the vines go slack. Arcanine got up, looking furious. Tangela panicked and ran off. Arcanine looked back for the briefest moment, and Julian nodded. He wasn't worried about losing Arcanine's protection. The dog gave chase, tearing off after the Tangela up the mountain and into a cave. Lugia intercepted it with a Hydro Pump attack that resulted in steam all around them, then used a Hydro Pump so powerful that Magmar was washed down the mountainside along with a couple medium sized trees. Julian nodded. Again, he felt bad, but sympathy wouldn't get them ready for their next challenge; the ultimate trial. Not even the fact that he had two powerful Legendary Pokemon would be enough. The Elite Four were so strong that they could handle a Legendary or two. He needed to have tricks up his sleeve for every possibility. TL;DR

Lugia screeched and reeled away from the massive eruption, but it was no good. The damage had already been done. Julian had never seen his Pokemon looking so injured but still remain standing on their feet. Lugia was made out of tough stuff, and after a healthy application of Potion, the legendary was back to looking healthy and ready to rock and roll. The Graveller, however, was far from able to do either anymore. They walked off, leaving the wild Pokemon unconscious and vulnerable to the elements. This magmar was pissed. There was no other way to put it. Lugia used Hydro Pump after Hydro Pump, but Magmar kept meeting the attacks with Fire Blasts. Zekrom started to charge up. Julian couldn't hear it like the others, but he could feel the rumble beside him. He held out a hand. Zekrom glanced down, and then relaxed. Julian had faith in Lugia. If the Legendary couldn't handle this one wild Pokemon, then it wouldn't be fit to take on the Elite Four.
There! He was right, Lugia finally landed a Hydro Pump attack that unsettled Magmar's stance. The wild Pokemon's legs were swept out from under it in the torrent of water rushing down the mountain at it. Lugia then shot one final Hydro Pump directly into Magmar's center mass. The water pressure was so devastatingly strong that a smoking hole in the ground remained. Steam poured out of it as the Magmar was forcibly cooled off. When Lugia landed, Julian glanced over the edge of the Magmar-shaped crater to see the Pokemon two feet down. True, they did not belong here. That didn't matter to them. Their Trainer was here, so they wouldn't be going anywhere. A Dodrio tried to test Zekrom, but the legendary made short work of the aggressive bird. Lightning was super effective against the Flying-Type Pokemon, so it came as no surprise when Dodrio looked barely better than fried chicken when he was done with it. Julian took advantage of the brief pause to spray Zekrom down with a few Potions. Yeah, Zekrom won, but that Dodrio's beak could be vicious. TL;DR

Julian hurried to his feet and tried to see what was happening. Apparently the guy had sent out a Parasect and a Leavanny to attack Julian while his back was turned. Typhlosion dealt with them both by himself with a series of Eruption attacks. The others had rushed into the battle because the guy was not playing fair at all. He brought out four more Pokemon to attack with, but Julian's faithful team worked together flawlessly as one might expect strictly and highly trained Pokemon to do.
Persian and Noctowl who'd known each other the longest worked together to tag-team against a Butterfree and a Heracross. Julian may have given them an unfair advantage by triggering Noctowl's Hypnotic Trigger attack, but he was confident they'd have won either way. Persian brought down the thunder on them both while Noctowl worked to keep them asleep with Hypnosis. When the two of them fell, Noctowl and Persian both turned to watch the real action - Lugia and Zekrom.
The two Legendary Pokemon had decided to work together, much to the dismay of the strange aggressive man and his team. A second Butterfree along with an Araquanid (which Julian had never seen before) were effectively demolished by the Legendary Pokemon's devastating Zap Cannon, Aeroblast, and Stone Edge attacks. They tried to put up a defense, but it was no good. They could never have gotten the chance to rally when it was ended as abruptly as it had begun. Julian glared at the guy, and when he gestured to Zekrom the Legendary blasted the guy off the mountainside with his lightning. gravity_resistant Ace Trainers After the exhilarating battle against the Bug-type expert came to an intense close, Julian may find an elderly woman standing mere inches away, as if she had materialized out of thin air. She was a figure of quiet dignity, her back slightly hunched with age, yet there was an air of authority about her. Leaning on a beautifully carved walking stick, she met Julian's gaze with eyes that had clearly witnessed countless battles and hardships. Those eyes, sharp and discerning, studied him with a mixture of curiosity and something that resembled approval. "That was an interesting battle," she began, her voice carrying the weight of years and experience, yet softened by a hint of amusement. "For a trainer as young as yourself, to command not one but two legendary Pokémon... it's quite a feat." Despite her words of praise, her expression remained stern, the lines on her face etched deep by time and the trials she had undoubtedly faced. The woman’s presence was commanding, even in her frailty, as if she had long since outgrown the need to express her strength outwardly. With a slow, deliberate motion, she began to walk forward, the tap of her walking stick against the ground rhythmic and steady, every step purposeful. As she gained a little distance, she paused and seemingly purposefully turned back to face Julian before speaking, her gaze drifting from Julian to the legendary Pokémon beside him, Zekrom and Lugia, their powerful forms towering over the scene. "I would really like to challenge you to a battle," she said, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips. There was a twinkle in her eyes now, one that spoke of a warrior's spirit that had not yet dimmed with age. "I just hope the battle ends a bit... more friendly than the last." There was no judgment in her tone, despite having witnessed the sheer force with which Julian and Zekrom used to end the battle with the alleged Bug Master. As she resumed walking her gaze lingered on Zekrom and Lugia, to admire their presence. She continued to widen the distance between them, her pace unhurried, as if giving Julian time to decide. Finally, she came to a stop and turned back to face him, her eyes once again locking onto his. In her hand, she held a Pokéball, its surface worn but polished, a testament to the countless battles it had seen. The challenge was clear, and the anticipation in the air was palpable.
Would Julian accept? - Julian must battle these Ace Trainers in this order. (Burtha then Albert then Kalvin
- Julian can battle these Ace Trainers together in roleplay or find them separately. But only can battle one trainer per post.
- Standard Unlimited Potions cannot be used until after all three ace trainers are defeated
- Keep a close eye on your item count when consumable items are used, and the Pokemon's HP from battle to battle.
- As of this Post is posted. Julian's inventory is locked for the remainder of the E4 challenge, and he may not gain any further items or outside exp until it is complete.
- Julian's team's hold items are now locked until the end of the three battles. They may be adjusted after the three ace trainers are defeated, and before the E4 challenge based off of his current inventory.
- These are some of the best of the best from around the world, and they want to win.

Something about the older woman gave him pause over that. She didn't seem like the average Trainer he occasioned to cross. She was old, looked wise, and held herself with a confidence many younger Trainers couldn't hope to emulate. By the time she presented her first Pokeball and sent out a Musharna, Julian's team was restored to their full health and ready for battle! Julian nodded to his Typhlosion, who stepped forward, his darker-than-normal fur bristling in anticipation.
This first battle between Typhlosion and Musharna would be the longest of the upcoming fights. It was a battle of will, skill, and status effects. Typhlosion had the brilliant idea to start with Attract, which turned out to be his saving grace. Musharna became infatuated with Typhlosion, which left Musharna refusing to attack half of the time. Typhlosion took advantage of this by hitting Musharna with Fire Blast after Fire Blast. Eventually Musharna was so hurt that it panicked and retaliated, putting Typhlosion to sleep and using Nightmare to deal a great amount of damage.
Still infatuated, Musharna did not want to hurt the sleeping enemy. It was weakness in a battle such as this, where every moment could count and decide the outcome. Typhlosion woke, used Fire Blast again, burned the Musharna, and they continued on in that effect for a couple more minutes. Eventually Musharna put Typhlosion to sleep but the burns caught up to the pink Psychic-Type and it collapsed, visibly weakened and exhausted from what they'd just been through. Julian smiled at Typhlosion and returned him to his Pokeball.
The next Pokemon the old lady presented was an Audino. Julian was trying to decide who would be the best counter for that when everyone's head whipped to the side to focus on something further up the mountain. Julian glanced over to see Arcanine just finishing a howl. He was upset that there was a battle going on without him, and that he'd almost missed all the fun. He made it down the mountainside in three huge strides to land between Julian and Audino.
Something happened then that Julian did not expect. The old woman touched a stone on a necklace and the Audino mega evolved! Audino went straight to work with Thunder attacks. Arcanine tried his best to avoid them, but three bolts hit him directly. He retaliated, using Close Combat to bat at the Audino with huge and powerful paws over and over again, finally finishing the flurry of blows with a Reversal attack that hit Audino so hard it went careening near the edge of the cliff side. She managed to return the Pokemon just in time, however.
Julian snapped his fingers and Arcanine returned to his side, sitting next to him.
The next two battles were more interesting still. Lugia went to war with a Darmanitan that ended quickly due to a type advantage, and Zekrom similarly defeated a Sawsbuck with powerful flames that seemed to surprise the old woman. True, Zekrom was known to be a Legendary focused around an electric typing, but that doesn't mean Julian didn't have a trick or two up his sleeve. Finally it was time for the sixth and final Pokemon of her team to be presented.
Before he could even decide what to do, Arcanine rose and re-entered the battle field. Julian was shocked to say the least. Having just been in a fierce battle, it was surprising that Arcanine wanted more. Perhaps it had something to do with the opponent also being a hound? Julian didn't know, but the battle began. The two dogs went at each other fiercely, snapping and snarling, biting and clawing, but in the end Arcanine was just too hurt from his previous fight. Julian had to recall his first beaten Pokemon of the battle. He looked to Lugia, who extended her wings and flew forward to finish things off quickly and effectively. Stoutland never stood a chance.
