Paradisity and I are gearing up and starting to crunch down for this years annual storyline event, making sure it's all good, polished and ready. However, this time around... We've been having a little bit of trouble. Since last year's the both of us keep going back and forth for which event we would like to do. We definitely narrowed down the options, but we just can't decide between three events to do, because all three are very different in their own ways. So this year, we want you to help us break Paradisity's and my tie and vote on which event you all would like to do! Now, like every storyline, we aren't going to give away the actual plot line of the stories because that would ruin the fun. However, we are going to give you the pros and cons that will explain the reasons why Paradisity and I are having such a hard time. They are all very different in how they will be run and just how it works, that being Adventure Driven, Choice Driven, and Self Driven, so we'll list those so you aren't just voting completely blind. We are asking everyone to vote here now, this event will not be held until the Summer. We cannot give a specific time because each of the events will be started at different times depending on it's length. While we won't give away anything with the plot, we most likely won't be able to cover every thing and you might have questions, so if you have any questions please let us know. That's why were are holding this vote and have this thread, so we can hear your questions and your opinions, so please let us know if you have any! Like stated earlier, we can't explain everything because we won't spoil the story, but if you have questions we will let you know if we can't answer that as well as tell you anything we're able to, so don't let that worry you! We really want to hear your opinions whether we'll like them or not, so don't be afraid to let us know, feel free to comment and discuss anything and everything about the events here in this thread! We tagged our most active members, but really any one that would be interested would be welcome to comment and vote here! Paradisity and I will cast our own votes on the final day of the voting.
Without further adieu, here is all of the pros and cons for each of the three events. Everyone will be able to discuss here and vote until Thursday March 15th.Adventure Driven EventPros:
- We would rate this event PG13.
- It'll have a mapped out event with more battle and action focused plot points.
- While it will have more battles then the others, all battles and challenges will be altered and set at a level all characters can participate in. You do not need to have high leveled Pokemon to participate or succeed.
- Story will include Cannon NPCs as well as original NPCs to interact with.
- When your character encounters NPC (If they were a Gym Leader for Example) The NPC will remember your character and you can use that for your own plot and storyline in the future.
- Story will include more exp and rewards because of the more battle focused part of the events
- Your character will get to experience action, visit wondrous places and gain experiences other characters not going will not, and will never get to again afterwards.
- There will be forms of transportation for every character to get to the start of the event, and then back to where they left from.
- If your character's Pokemon pass obedience level they have during the event, this rule will be will be waived for your character for 1-2 gyms depending. However we will ask you to get the required badges quickly.
- There is no restriction on how many characters you send in, and receive all rewards awarded. We just ask that you consider what you can handle activity wise.
- You will receive an award badge for your account to prove your involvement in the event. Awesome bragging rights.
- You and your character will be listed as participation on the Hidden Legends Event History.
- There will always be a chance for you to leave the storyline if you need to, don't like the story, or your character can't do or handle it. Just please let us know, we will not be upset and we will work with you to get them out that's favorable for you.
| Cons:
- Of course, characters will be able to do what ever they would naturally do, however this will be a linear story line. There may not be too much room for deviation from the story, however each character as the chance to participate or effect the story.
- This storyline is the longest story of the three, and will take up more of your character's time.
- If your character leaves the story, they will not be able to return.
- They will not be able to join in after the storyline has already begun. If they don't arrive at the starting point of the event, and before the start has been posted, the event will unfortunately continue without your character.
- There will be a certain amount of activity required to keep up with the storyline. In a battle, we might give you 4 days to attack in a battle before moving to the next turn, but you'll still get to participate if you miss a turn, but if you miss too many turns you may not receive any of the rewards. Which this will be up to our discretion but has never been a problem.
- You may also be expected to post or activity in a specified time (IE 7 days) to move on to the next plot. Some plots you will have time to catch up, some parts you will not and unfortunate be removed from the event due to the specifics of this event. Which we will always work with you if an emergency or problem effects you IRL, however this also is up to our discretion.
- While this is an action pact adventure and it'll be lots of fun to jump out and have your own Avengers/Mission Impossible action scene, we ask that you be realistic to the limitations your character would naturally have. (IE if your character has a small stature, and he is a pacifist from a rich billion dollar family, he wouldn't suddenly be a combat specialist assassin trained all his life that he suddenly remembered he was. Yes, this has happened.) We will ask you to rethink the actions, or to simply update the character's profile and have them act accordingly going forward. This usually isn't a problem at all, we just please ask that you consider that your character and Pokemon would and wouldn't be capable of.
- That being said, if your character can or will jump into action do it. There will be parts of the event that will call for it. But be aware, all actions will have an equal, opposite, or even greater reaction. You have been warned (:

Pros:
- We would rate this event PG
- This event will have a specific plot towards the beginning, and points of the event to make sure it stays moving, but the event will all depend on all of the characters and NPCs involved. It will be formatted much like an interactive video game. (IE TellTale Games, or Detroit: Become Human)
- This will be the first event of it's kind in Hidden Legends
- This event will test not only your characters, but also you as a roleplayer to solve problems in character which will really test and push your character's decision making.
- There will be lot and lot and lots of time for characters to interact with each other, as well as NPCs. All NPCs are going to be original. In fact, we highly encourage interactions with other characters and NPCs
- Literally every single character will have at least one or plenty more chances to reshape and change the entire plot. There may be a skeleton we follow, but there is no real pre-determined ending you NEED to get to..
- While the storyline will be ever chancing, there will be 'check points' per se that we will be getting to that will continue to push things forward. There will be twists and turns you will never see coming. We might not even see it coming.
- There will be transportation to the start of the event for everyone, and transportation back to where they left.
- You may leave the event at any time.
- We don't think it will be an issue, but if your character's Pokemon level up past their obedience level during the event, you may have the obedience rule waived for 1-2 gyms as needed. However you will need to acquire the badges quickly after the event.
- While we may ask you for extra detail in specific posts in advance so you have a better time in the event.
- You will have time to catch up if you don't post in time, you won't be kicked from the event at any time if you can't keep up, however we will give everyone plenty of time to respond and will list how long you might have if it's time sensitive, the event will not stall if you don't respond quick enough.
- All important paths and decisions made by your characters and NPCs made will be saved and listed in case you want to look pack to remember, or reference. This is to make things easier for you to remember.
- Everyone will be together for this event, so your character's choices may effect everyone in the group.

- While we have a specific beginning, and we are excited to test this kind of storyline, we have never tried this before and we don't know how well this story will work out.
- This event is based off of characters decisions and interactions with other characters. You will be required to really read and pay attention other's and NPC's posts your interacting with at time. The more responsive and interactions your character has the better the story will be, and more fun you will have. If your character isn't social they won't have any fun.
- This event is the first of it's kind, so it may have a few kinks for it is experimental, however we ensure that it should be fun for everyone participating. Maybe if this one goes well we could try something much larger and much more ambitious!
- We will ask you to really think, and make choices based off of who your characters are, some might be tough choices you might really have to think about and consider.
- Some choices your characters make could have long term effects, even after the event. Make the right choices (: (We will never tell or hint which choice or path is 'right' its all up to your character on how they will react.)
- We may ask you make more details in posts then usual. (IE what they do specifically.) which will be asked for in specific times of the event. We are big on what isn't said/explained in posts didn't happen. This event will be really heavy based off of decisions and actions. You will not be able to go back and edit your character's choices, or add actions they did or movements after realizing what happened.
- The event will have little battles, and is more based off of your character and Pokemon's actions and decisions rather then fighting, so there will be a lack of rewards give out, but there still will be some.
- While you may not be kicked for not keeping up, the event will not slow down or stop for your character. Your character will have time to keep up, (and we will happily help you go over everything you missed) however if we have to skip your character and continue on, the story and NPCs involved will assume your character did nothing and didn't speak up and will act accordingly. You can do what ever your character would naturally do, but we will not go back and change what happened. This is just to keep the event running smoothly and not penalize those waiting.
- This might not be a con, but it is worth saying again. The more active you are, the more descriptive you are, and the more reactive/interactive your character is the more fun you will have and better the story will turn out.
- All NPCs will be controlled by mods, however there will be profiles posted for you to look over should you want to interact with them or not. Please do, it would be fun.
- If you leave the event, you will notbe able to return and after the storyline starts you will not be able join.

Pros:
- This story line is rated G
- This storyline will be carried out by you, it will be held in the same place for everyone and there is a basic plot, but you carry it out how you want.
- There will be teleportation to and from the event.
- You can come and go as you choose.
- You can move at your own pace
- There will be set rewards given out through out this event.
- There is no restriction on how many characters you send in, and receive all rewards for each character.
- You will receive an award badge for your account to prove your involvement in the event. Awesome bragging rights.
- Characters will always be able to interact with each other throughout this event, or you can go through it alone
| Cons:
- There technically will be NPCs in this event, but you will be controlling them.
- There will only be as much of a plot or storyline as you give it.
- Since you can come and go as you please, the obedience rules will not be waived for this event.

A small little comment since I have everyone here. Paradisity and I have discovered a neat little app that you can get for your phone called Tapatalk. It's free, and it allows you to get on to Hidden Legends on your phone, as well as receive notifications. You can create an account or log on through google, and then 'follow' and regularly sign into the site and that's it. We're still figuring out how it works, because it looks a lot different from the site, and you're not required to get it by any means, we just thought it was really neat. Just wanted to let everyone know about it! Now get to discussing and voting! :D

Hello all! Just wanted to get in on this since I have to be in bed like a responsible adult and couldn't be awake when Prince and I wanted to post this -.-
We absolutely love being able to get you guys involved in any storyline events that we do, continuing to build on the history of the role play and giving your characters those experiences that can possibly shape their journeyes in the future! These stories that we create are facets for us to not only express our intrigue with the Pokemon world, but a way for us to show how much we appreciate your dedication to the role play by giving you our all in these events. We really want these, any of these, to really engage you all and show you what we can really do to add to the world of the RP, so we want to make sure you know that your opinions matter!
Consider your role play style and writing preference, what you think your characters could have more fun with, we want to make sure we put out the best event for everyone to participate in and have fun with! Please let us know about anything regarding these options, no thought or opinion is too small for us to consider!
Thank you all in advance for the discussions that will happen, it means a lot to us that you indulge us and engage in what's going on in the role play, so know that your vote is important! We can't wait to see what happens this summer!

I honestly think I'm making an ill-advised decision with the experimental nature of it...but you had me at "TTG"
I am absolutely, 100% for the Choice-Driven Story and if I think of ANYTHING I believe may help, I will let you know! TellTale is one of my favorite game series (RIP) and I'm super excited by the idea of playing it out here!

The members have spoken, and you have chosen the Choice driven event! It was a very sure answer, we had expected a bit more questions and debating but that just makes us believe you're sure of your choice. We know it will be a lot fun for everyone participating! Now, we'll give you all a heads up so you know what to look for. We plan to post the first interest thread hopefully towards the beginning of May, with more information, that way everyone will know which characters they would like to send into the event. Like said above, transportation will be given to and from the event, so shortly then after you'll be able to join! We just need to make sure to work out all the kinks and issues with the event before hand. Like we said in the Pros and Cons, it is an experimental thing we will work on for Hidden Legends, but no matter what we will make sure everyone participating will have fun!
