Julian had taken a hard fall. Rubbing the back of his head, he got up and stared at the spot where - a moment ago - the mouth of the cave had been. One thing was clear; they were stuck. Julian glanced at Liz and saw that she was speaking. "...get out?" The flickering quality of the fire made it difficult to read her lips. Julian sighed. He wasn't sure what to do. The problem now is that if he let out his only Pokemon strong enough to blast their way out of here, Zekrom might just bring the whole mountain down on them.
He sat down next to Typhlosion and held out his hands to the warmth in answer. He knew she wouldn't like it, wouldn't want that to be their answer, but he had to think. He had to focus, and that was proving difficult to do. The next idea that came to his mind would find a number of his less powerful Pokemon out, and helping them dig a hole - an exit - through the mouth of the cave which had swallowed the pair of them whole. He leafed through his backpack and pulled out a sandwich. Snapping his fingers to get her attention, he offered some to her before taking a bite himself.
Little did he know that outside of the field of light cast by his Pokemon's flames, others were taking notice of his sandwiches as well. -BACKPACK-

Elizabeth Morgan Julian's offer of food was poorly ignored. Liz pretended not to notice his offer at first, trying to pretend she wasn't hungry so he would eat his food. Her growling stomach caused redness to stain her cheeks before grudgingly accepting the offered food. She dug around in her own pack and offered Julian two of her berries in exchange. "Here. They're gonna spoil if we don't eat them." She stated, placing the berries in the young man's hand if he didn'ttake them from her. She hadn't made sure to show him her face, so he would likely not even realize she had said anything. Liz took another bite of her share of his sandwich before holding the opposite corner to Diggle's mouth. "Diggle. Wake up, baby. I have some food for you." She whispered to the resting Aron. Compared to before Liz had calmed significantly and her wavering voice was forgivable. She didn't eat much, but Diggle taking a nibble was enough for Liz.
The young woman had her mouth half-open to take another bite when she realized they were being watched. Her prompt reaction was to cry out, making the shapes retreat further into darkness. That caught her attention and made her feel promptly ashamed that she had assumed they were dangerous. She instead tore a chunk off of her sandwich and tossed it to the closest, smallest pair of eyes. A light skittering of claws preceded the Salandit peeking out into Typhlosion's light to snatch the offering up and chomp on it once before shaking her head and tossing the rest to her companions. Keeping Diggle held close, Liz rolled out some berries for the newcomers to snap up. "Come on out. Don't be shy." She called with a soft smile. With Salandit came also a Glaceon and Leafeon. Besides Glaceon Liz felt it strange that any of them were even up here. Salandit especially, who looked ready to collapse from cold! It was a bonehead move and Liz would kick herself in the future, but for now she reached out and snatched Salandit up to hug the tiny reptile to her chest and unzip her cloat to tuck it in against her. "You need to warm up! You're like ice!" She chided, zipping up so that all but Salandit's head was protected. She scooted closer to Typhlosion and rubbed his flank before petting Salandit with her heated hand. "I need you, big guy. Can you keep this poor baby warm?" She asked softly, leaning toward Julian's starter and resting her chest against his fur so that Salandit could warm up. Liz fumbled into her bag only to find she had far fewer berries than she had first realized. She frowned as she dropped the collection before Typhlosion's face. "I'm sorry. It's the last of them." Lamented the redhead, wishing she had the foresight to bring more. Julian's sandwiches weren't going to last much longer, assuming he had any left.
She looked content for a moment, cuddling the Salandit and her Aron while curled up to Typhlosion for warmth, but her mind was racing. They hadn't been in here long, but Julian hadn't offered a solution to escape. That's what scared Liz right now. She trusted him to have solutions and none had been offered. She looked to the young man as he met and bonded with his own new friends. She smiled still, glad to see at least they had friends. "Julian?" Remembering that he hadn't offered a possible solution, Liz was curious now on what he might be able to do. He could, after all, save the day and just not say anything about it. Zekrom hadn't entered her mind, she was unwilling to regard the terrible dragon as anything more than a waking nightmare right now, but that didn't mean Julian was as helpless as she was. Fluffy and Diggle were out, Belle couldn't do much and Gus could really only make it worse. Astro might help...but she had been so cruel to him earlier. Liz sighed, opening up Cherry's Pokeball and releasing the Cyndaquil. "Hey, sweetie. Can you try and burn through some of that?" She asked, hoping Cherry not only had the gumption to try, but the strength to make a dent. It didn't work, and Cherry blazed away at the wall to no great effect. Liz only sighed and shook her head. "It's OK, Cherry. Come here." She called to her Cyndaquil after several flame blasts that only seemed to cause the wall to melt and compact harder still instead of making it weaker. Liz sighed and looked at her friends after gathering Cherry up into her arms to snuggle with the other two already curled against her. "I can't do anything. Cherry's never handled anything like this." The others seemed nervous, but friendly as well. One was a Glaceon, the other a Leafeon. Little did he know that all three of these Pokemon had been released by a Trainer who thought them too weak for his team. They had simply been abandoned in this tundra and left to their own devices. It was far too cold for Leafeon or Salandit to even leave this cave, so Glaceon had been going out and scavenging anything it could to bring back. Julian could tell by the ribs he could see on Leafeon's sides that it hadn't been enough.
Julian did not take another bite, giving the rest of his sandwiches and the berries Liz had given him to them instead. They needed it much more than he did. A sudden flash of light caught his eye, and he turned to see Cherry trying to blast the boulders away. He got up quickly, startling Glaceon and Leafeon, but it was too late. The cave had now solidified into a wall no different than the rest of the cave. There would be no digging their way out of here now. He stared at the wall and let out a sigh. His options were becoming limited.
He tried to motion to Liz not to do anything else without appearing rude. It wasn't her fault, she just wanted to get out of here. He did too, but thinking rashly in survival situations was a dangerous game to play. To regain the trust of the two Eeveelutions, Julian brought out Umbreon and Espeon. They were great help in convincing the two wild Pokemon that Julian was friendly, and no threat to them.

She frowned and looked up at Julian as he stood up to try and stop her Cyndaquil from this mistake. Liz only cradled her Pokemon as she realized she had, indeed, fouled things up for them. That would explain why Typhlosion hadn't already done what she thought to have Cherry do. "I'm sorry." She murmured as she decided to return Cherry at least for now. She looked around slowly before standing up to join her friend meeting his new Eeveelutions. "Aww, you're so pretty. I'm sorry if Cherry scared you." She crouched down to the level of the four fox Pokemon with a soft smile. "I'm scared too. It's my fault he melted the wall." She told them, wanting to at least share with the Pokemon that even if they weren't OK with what just happened, it hadn't been anything Julian did. Although she was also hoping that maybe the two of them had ways around here. Liz had never appreciated just how much she appreciated the open air until it was taken away from her. She could feel panic threatening her already strained sensibility. Salandit and the two Eeveelutions were helping her keep her mind off of being trapped. The redhead gave Julian an uncertain look but said nothing. She was coming to rely on him for an escape plan after screwing things up. The Pokemon were sent spiraling through the air and tumbled to the ground, very scattered around the field. Only Cronus, Josette, and Athena were able to catch themselves and make a soft landing. Cronus having stopped himself before hitting the ground and turned around to search for the enemy. Once hitting the ground once, Athena slammed her strong hands into the ground and drug it through the earth forcing herself to stop and looked back as sparks flew, while Josette spun through the air. She used psychic energy to gain control of her position in the air, and allowed herself to land on her little feet causing her to stumble forward, but she landed it none the less. While the rest; Ryer, Inanna, Angelique, and Styx landed hard and tumbled to a stop. Even Styx had been blasted into the air, not near as far as the others, but he landed with a thunderous sound, and used the horn on his head to stop himself. The rest of them struggled to get back to their feet as the ghosts appeared around them. No one had time to think or wait for the orders of Marcellus or even Cronus. It was like a swarm of bee drill. There seemed to be more Haunter in the swarms then there were Gengar, and they grouped more around the stronger targets, Athena, Cronus and Styx. Josette found herself backing up towards Cronus, and battling along side him. Both sending waves and blasts of energies at the ghosts. A Shadow ball would hit Cronus but he only allowed it to barely knock him back as he would turn and return fire, knocking the Haunter into a cloud of energy. Josette blocked an attack and send the barrier she created at a Gengar but it did her one better and dark pulsed the field back at her knocking her into the air. Cronus caught her in the air and brought her close to the ground safely so she could return fire at the beast. Styx was holding his only against the ghosts, using his tail to sweep them away and into the shadows, as they shot at him. He was able to with stand many attacks as he returned fire, sending rocks and earth into the air to not only block but push the ghost back and away. He knew that any thing he could do to fight them through the earth would do no good, so he had to knock the earth into the air and send them flying. Athena was holding her own as well, not only that but she was actively keeping up with the ghosts. She took the hits and returned fire, smiting the ghosts as she went, leaving scorch marks in the ground beneath the ghosts to even damage the shadows they might crawl back to. Angelique and Inanna weren't able to keep up as well as two haunter went for Angelique. She would use her little axe to swing at them only to miss. She began to twirl around and send the blades of her solid ice axe into the air, whick would knock into the demon ghosts and send them back, to which she'd replenish the ice onto her axe to send more into the air, but the little smoochum couldn't take hits like Styx or Athena, and once hit she was hit spiraling into the air. Inanna was whirling about the air as Haunter chased her down. Levitating horizontal as she tried to dodge the on coming attacks. She would send a flurry of pumps of water and beams of light at the ghost but the ghost chasing her were able to dodge them. She was only able to hit one ghost before Angelique was sent into her causing both to spiral out of control and into the ground. The two landed hard with shrieks from the both of them. Inanna stood up off of Angelique as she stumbled around her and looked down at her dress as three ghosts rallied before them. The red princess gasped. "You ripped my dressed!" She wailed as her pale face turned red. Inanna saw her opportunity, and while she didn't like Angelique, what the Starmie lacked was fire power as she flew. She turned horizontal and lowered. "Hop on." Inanna offered and the smoochum did just that. It wasn't that she realized that what she lacked herself was range, even with the ice. She was just enraged. The two were off in the air, and charged the ghosts, as Angelique wailed her battle cry. Angelique knocked one away with her ice, while Inanna blasted the other Haunter with a ray of light, leaving the two to square off with a Gengar. The two whirled in the air, Angelique swinging and screaming wildly at the ghost while it kept up with the two. Back on the ground, Ryer ran all about trying to keep away from the ghosts to no avail. He tried to keep running and dodging that rather take the offensive like all the rest, and was frantically running, jumping, and gliding through out the field as a Haunter chased him down. He would send a ball of fire at the ghost, but it would only miss and it would return with an attack, so Ryer continued to bound through the battle field as he tried to keep away. Ryer was fine with gym battles, but he actively avoided confrontation. Not only was that the case, he had been in Darkrai's tower before, and the ball, and these beings frightened him making him fear that he would get stuck back in either situation. All of this happening at once, Josette grabbed and hurled across the field and through the trees, Cronus ganged up on and forced into a corner with dark pulses, Athena getting knocked to the ground only to blast all those around her with electricity, Styx getting hit hard and knocked backwards and flat against the ground, Angelique and Inanna getting knocked back to the ground, Ryer getting slammed and sent sailing into Cronus... All of this going on caused the Pokemon to miss the smaller battle going on at the field's center. But the Pokemon all came to a halt at the scream from their trainer.| Pokemon appearance 111/7 |

Elizabeth Morgan It felt tense from the moment she had called Cherry back from trying to burn the wall. The Salandit at least appeared to appreciate the bit of extra warmth from Cyndaquil's flames. Now that it was finally warming up again, the little salamander Pokemon opened its eyes and made a soft squawking noise at Glaceon. If the frozen fox did not immediately protest, it would squeak up at Liz and nudge her neck with its nose. She could only smile, appreciative of the improvement in the tiny creature's condition. "What is it?" She asked, realizing she was being called for something. the young woman let out a shriek before laughing. Salandit's head had vanished from her jacket collar and a lump wormed its way down her body until the Pokemon fell to the floor and scurried over to the far wall in the back. With or without Glaceon's permission, Salandit scratched away at the loose snow until finally belching an Ember to clear it rapidly. It was a small opening, but the humans would be able to fit according to the insistent calls of Salandit urging its new friends to come over. Liz gave Typhlosion a light pat on the side and made a gesture for him to follow her so she could more easily see the gap Salandit was showing to her. "Hey. Julian!" She turned quickly on her heel and waved to her friend in case he hadn't already come to investigate the redhead's strange behavior. She skipped to the side and presented him with the option she was now aware of. It didn't take Liz long, however, to realize she wasn't getting through in her current state. She flushed red and waved her hands at him quickly. "H-hold on! Don't watch!" She shouted, trying to get Typhlosion between them even though all she was doing was taking off her outerwear. Once Liz was reduced to her shirt and pants she'd been wearing before buying all this--having tucked Diggle away inside the coat for safe keeping--she knelt down beside Salandit and started squirming her way into the foxhole, wiggling her hips in a desperate attempt to fit through the opening. After much grunting and huffing, the redhead let out a shocked cry as she popped through and slid forward far enough to disappear into the hole as if she had been grabbed by something. She was quite pleased after regaining her bearings to find that the hole was big enough to crawl in. "Julian! Julian!" She was too excited to realize she was wasting her breath. It would be up to his Pokemon to let him know she was OK...and yelling at him. "It's really big in here! We can get out!" Liz called, turned halfway to hopefully see her friend gazing in after her. It didn't occur to her that the way she fell might scare him, or that the view he would be treated to might prompt him to follow in after her that much sooner. Julian looked back to Typhlosion. If they really were going to go through this, Typhlosion would never fit. He would have to be returned to his Pokeball, which meant no more light or warmth. So not only did they get to climb through this narrow tunnel, but they got to do so blindly. Julian had gone through life unable to hear, but if his sight was robbed from him then he would be no use to anyone. Well, he would wait until Liz told him that she was ready to do that, even though a part of him wanted to stay put right here. Marcellus knew they were here, right? Why wouldn't it be safe to assume he would send Cronus to rescue us? In fact, it was that idea... that Marcellus would be their rescuer, that decided the matter for him. He was going through that hole.

Elizabeth Morgan Liz made a point to stick her arm out of the hole before Julian crawled into it. She was struggling since she had difficulty turning around and so her arm could only reach partway. "Hey! Can somebody bring me my coat?" She should just return Diggle to her Pokeball, get the Aron taken care of once they got back into town. She didn't think the effects of the ball were going to help her Pokemon, though. The redhead believed that letting Diggle begin to heal was the best solution. Once one of Julian's Pokemon got her jacket or relayed to Julian to help her, Liz gathered Diggle up close to her and released Cherry again. His light was so much smaller than Typhlosion's, but he was small enough to fit in here and that's what mattered. Salandit scampered into the hole behind Liz, worming its way up between the young woman's legs to join Cherry at the front both as heat and because it was becoming rather attached to the new human. The crawl through the hole was a long and uncomfortable squeeze for the humans while the smaller Pokemon were able to walk on through just fine. Liz noticed there was a change in lighting at the end of the tunnel, only becoming more excited and dragging herself faster through the space. "Oh! Look! The way out!" She cried, failing to realize that even after hours the blizzard hadn't let up quite yet. The light ahead couldn't be outside the mountain. More importantly, Liz should have been more thoughtful about how this tunnel ended. Maybe then she would have noticed there wasn't actually a floor that it came out onto. Maybe Julian wouldn't have to deal with watching the girl fall face first out and slide down the steep wall before coming to rest against some icy stones. Salandit and Cherry both popped out from under Liz with Cherry immediately moving to make sure she was OK. It was a simple enough slide if you knew what to expect. Well, it was now or never. Could Julian live with himself if he let Liz just venture into some random hole in a cave alone? She might be getting them into even worse trouble, but at least whatever happened they would be in it together. Besides, what were the chances that this Salandit wanted to hurt them? Leafeon and Glaceon weren't trying to hurt them certainly and they weren't trying to stop them from going into the hole. That more than anything made up the teenager's mind. He followed Liz into the hole.
It was dark in the tunnel, Liz had already found herself sliding down and Julian was left with no sense of hearing or sight. He could not prepare for the slide down and ended up going down hard. In fact, he ended up crashing into Liz from above, taking her off her feet if she actually managed to get that far, or simply colliding with her if she hadn't. -BACKPACK-

Elizabeth Morgan The slide down hadn't been too bad. The rocks that had stopped her were less so. And then there was Julian. Poor guy had no idea what he was in for and Liz didn't think to stop him as she attempted to stand. The best possible mistake she could have made kept her sliding against the icy floor when Julian fell down right into her lap! It was better than having the teen's body cut her legs out from under her...mostly. The redhead let out a pained moan after she was smashed between the icy rocks that had broken her fall and her partner who had made the same mistake as Liz. At least she helped him suffer a little less. When her arm fell over Julian, the pair could have looked like a snuggling couple instead of the desperate teenagers they were. Liz sat up slowly once she caught her breath, nursing an ache in her side from the double tap. "Hehe. Uhh. Watch that last step?" She commented shyly. Julian probably couldn't even read her lips right now. Cherry struggled before jumping out of Liz's coat and letting out a frustrated growl with Salandit's head popping up from a pile of snow that had dumped on her from the impact. Diggle remained curled up in Liz's jacket, though the shape in the fabric stirred to life again while she struggled with her throbbing head.
Liz quickly gathered her wounded Aron up into her arms when she noticed the coat shifting, hugging Diggle close much to the chagrin of the Pokemon. She let out another pained growl even with the comfort she felt held tight to Liz's chest. In spite of being so cold now without her winter coat, the trainer's body was warm enough to relieve some of Diggle's pain. Liz held her Aron close while looking at the Salandit who could only stare back as if trying to determine if she was meeting a friend or an enemy. "It's OK. You come here, sweet thing. Momma's got you. Let's be friends." She offered, getting a tentative squawk of approval from the Salandit before she was swallowed into a Pokeball. She left Salandit to rest in her new Pokeball, sending Belle back to Mahongany Town so she could take a break. "Any more ideas? I can't tell where we are." Elizabeth Morgan The adventurous spirit was growing in the young redhead, guiding her to examine their surroundings. She had no idea where they were, where they were going, or what they would do when they got there but she was determined to do something now that they had made it out of the cave-in. Liz huffed out a frigid breath before she turned once more to face Julian as he secured his new Eeveelutions. "Listen." An ironic start to the speech, but no less important for her to convey. "I made it worse before, and I'm sorry. So I'm gonna find a way out of here. It's my fault we're stuck anyway." She declared, pointing in the direction of darkness that she felt looked least dark. A perfectly reasonable method through which to discover the exit. She came back soon after having found more wall that way. Her cheeks were practically glowing with embarrassment. "I-I meant this way." She stated lamely, only making the gesture of a different direction but failing to make sure Julian could see her lips as she spoke. She wasn't trying to make it harder for Julian, honest she wasn't, but she was so focused on trying to fix what she perceived as her mistake that she couldn't focus on doing him the simple courtesy of looking at him while speaking to him. Diggle groaned during the unsteady walk, regretting her trainer ever being allowed to do anything more complicated than follow somebody else. It was hard to rest with Liz jostling around in search of a path and finding the floor changing constantly underneath her.
Liz found...something. It was a path but the fact remained that neither she nor Julian had gone through this before. Cherry was roused from his confused stumbling as Liz called back for the boys, heading for the opening and exploring deeper into the caverns of the mountain. She stopped and turned back frequently making sure that Julian was there while Cherry finally ignited his back to light the way for his trainer and their companion. The Cyndaquil waddled along slowly so that Liz would have no choice but to keep her attention on their surroundings so that she didn't fall into another drop-off like she had before. The caves were still dark, but there were low sounds of wind being blown through openings to the outside. Salem wasn't much of a battler he learned, while Novu was frightened, so the two smaller Pokemon stayed safe with him. That is until a few Gastly appeared around him. Marcellus took a step back, only to realize the four ghosts were surrounding him. Salem let out a hiss as his dark fur bristled around him. The trainer glanced around at the Pokemon battling, and it seemed everyone was busy, so he had to battle this out with the Pokemon he had with him. "Novu, I know you're afraid of them, but I need you to try and fight these ghosts for me." Marcellus told him. Novu nodded slowly with an uneasy look and stepped out. "Salem, I need you to get out there too." Marcellus told him. Salem let out a upset noise that sounded less then pleased. "I don't think I have a choice in this one." Salem growled, as he looked back to the ghost and pat at it with his claws out. Marcellus had never seen Salem be aggressive before, but he was going to have to learn quick. Novu let out his vines and waved them readily in the air, while Salem's claws began to glow black. The gastly whirled around them and they began to swoop down at Novu and Salem. Salem stood up and began to swing at the ghost as it sent for him and knocked him backwards. Novu began to swing his vines wildly at the two ghosts surround him. He tried to fend them off by knocking them into gas with his vines with almost worded. However, one remained floating in front of Marcellus. It eyed him over, while Marcellus tried to keep an eye on his Pokemon, to make sure they didn't need any help. He froze when he spotted the stationary ghost looking at him. Marcellus took a step back, and held a hand up in front of him, as the Ghost followed. "I don't want to fight. I can't." Marcellus told the ghost, which promptly laughed as it followed. The ghost circled him slowly, eyeing him over. Marcellus watched as Novu tried to fight off the ghost by hitting them and sending them into the astro-gas like form as they took a very quick moment to reform. Marcellus reached into his bag as the ghost was on the other side of him. Once he came around to the front of him, the gas around it began to flare, he knew it was going to attack. Marcellus gripped something in his pack, and pulled out one of his knives he cooks with and lurched forward in one swift motion and sliced through the ghost. He knew it wouldn't harm the ghost, just stall it. Marcellus turned heel and began to run. Marcellus wasn't afraid of ghosts, he lived with a few and one haunted porcelain doll. He knew how to take care of a haunting, but nothing so sudden as this... Marcellus was moving away from the center of the battle, but it seemed after a few steps the Gastly had reformed and appeared in front of him angrily. It sent a force of energy at him before he could react and clothes lined him, knocking him off his feet and flat on his back. With a grunt Marcellus rolled over and getting to his feet he tried to swing at the ghost again, but it dodged him easily. The ghost shadow balled his hand, causing the knife to go flying. Marcellus watched it sail and looked back to the ghost that was drifting closer. "What do you ghosts what?" Marcellus demanded. The gastly licked what would be it's lips as it answered. "You." it hissed. Marcellus paused for a moment, and glanced around at the Pokemon battling around him. They weren't being subdued or trying to... They were being kept busy...
Marcellus turned around and began to sprint away from the gastly. If they were after him, he needed to get away from his Pokemon, or at least the ghosts. Marcellus got only a few strides away before it caught up to him, and with it's body and gas, it gripped his right hand and held on and began to yank him backwards. Marcellus tried to pull away from the ghost but it was strong. He leaned back, away from the ghost trying to pull his arm free, but a force behind him knocked him forward into the pull of the Gastly. One of the ghosts fighting Novu had left the bulb and assisted the Gastly. Marcellus stumbled forward and frantically got to his feet and turned to try and pull away and run, but the other ghost latched onto his free arm and began to pull him back. These unnatural Gastly were able to yank him into the air, and backwards. Marcellus started kicking trying to do anything to keep these ghosts from whisking him away but he couldn't. "Cronus! Josette! Athena!" Marcellus shouted, trying to get their attention as he was being whisked away. Marcellus looked back to where the ghosts were taking him, and spotted a large black ball of energy. Marcellus let out a shout for help, louder this time, which caught the attention of his Pokemon, but also the ghosts. The battle halted for a very quick moment, before Marcellus's team made a bee line for him. The ghosts knew they were almost finished, and began to knock the Pokemon out of the way. Angelique and Inanna were sent sailing into the foliage of the trees, as Josette soon followed. Novu was lifted and launched into the snowy path above, as Salem was dark pulsed back knocking into Ryer, causing them to tumble aways. Leaving Athena, Styx and Cronus. The onix leaned down and allowed Athena to climb on, and flipped his head upward, launching the electivire into the air and towards Marcellus. Landing still a bit aways from them, she began to run as Cronus appeared by her. They were making quick progress, only... They were the only three able to take on the army of ghosts. The ghosts appeared in front of them and began to ready an attack. The attacks began to mix and array of dark pulses with shadow balls, making a large dark ball of energy, and the two wanted to strike before they let it lose. They charged for the ghost, but they fired the ball just as the two strong Pokemon struck, causing a deep rumble before exploding outwards. The sheer force of the attack sent Cronus and Athena soaring back wards and slammed into Styx, knocking him backwards and onto the ground. They heard one last yelp from Marcellus before it fell silent. Cronus was the first to rise and appeared where they once were, and flew at the fading ball of energy Marcellus disappeared through, and tried to reopen it, but he couldn't.Guidelines:- Marcellus has been Kidnapped! He couldn't believe they had lost Marcellus... They all had lost their trainer. Cronus had failed to keep his human safe, and he had to live with that failure. As he dealt with the failure, the area had fallen silent and still at the absence of ghosts. It slowly reanimated as Pokemon got to their feet. Both Angelique and Josette were stuck in the treeline that they were knocked into. They both stood on a branch closest to the clearing and looked down at the long drop. Inanna quickly levitated over and allowed the Smoochum to step down onto her and floated down and laid flat to allow the off before standing back up. Both Smoochum looked themselves over o see their ripped skirts and hanging tulle out the bottom of their skirts. Josette frowned as she tried to fix her hair out of her face. Salem helped Novu roll back over onto his feet before hurrying back over to Josette and circled her nervously. Everyone began to move towards Cronus who stood like a statue. Novu's who's eyes were flooding over with tears, sniffled. "Is Marcellus gone? Forever?" Novu questioned trying to keep himself calm but struggling to keep his breath normal. Cronus didn't answer, so Styx leaned down to speak, but Athena spoke up first. "Yes, we lost. He's gone." Athena spoke angrily rubbing her arm. Styx shot her a glance before looking to the bulb. "Yes, we did lose him, but we're going to get him back. " Styx told Novu. The bulb's tears slowed as he looked up to Styx. "Of course we're going to get him back, Novu." Josette told him, moving forward, with Salem following in her shadow. Josette pet Novu's head trying to calm him. "How exactly are we going to get him back though...?" Inanna spoke, hesitantly. She wasn't trying to break the optimism of the group, but she was always the out spoken one, and the Starmie had trouble figuring out how to get him back. "That's a good question Inanna. Why not tell us this plan of yours Styx, Josette. Fill us in on this wonderful plan you've got to get him back. I'd love to hear it." Athena asked them. She was a very wise Pokemon, as she was strong, and she was direct. She didn't like sugar coating things, she was honest. They were defeated, and Athena couldn't see the point in adding sunshine and rainbows. "That's not helping, Athena." Josette spat at the Electivire. "And making promises you can't keep will, Princess?" Athena retorted. Josette's dress began to freeze over, but before she could do anything, Styx spoke up. "We're going to call, Emiri. She connections with legendaries, and she has the brute force we apparently need." Styx answered. The group fell silent for a moment. "I like that idea." Salem chimed in with a grin, but earned a glare from Athena to which he cowered and flashed his large kitten eyes as he shrank behind Josette. "No we're not." Cronus spoke, everyone looked in his direction, and he seemed to have not moved. "Why? That's actually the best plan we have so far. We could use her muscle, and her skill." Athena added. She wasn't going to lie, that was a good plan Styx had. The group moved closer to Cronus, seeing that he apparently had a plan. "No." He said simply, turning his head to look at the team in front of him. "We aren't calling Emiri. She has enough to worry about. We can handle this on our own." Cronus spoke sternly. He was struggling to keep it together, and keeping a lid on his abilities. "How are we expected to do that? We've already been defeated." Styx questioned. He wasn't sure if this was the right idea... "I know where they took him, and we're going there to get him back ourselves." Cronus told them. Athena crossed her arms and looked at him skeptically. Cronus seemed to be the only one confident on what they were about to do, but he didn't care. He knew they had to do this on their own. Elizabeth Morgan Liz had found her way down a different path that led to a dead end once more. It was lucky for her Julian was deaf, though he might realize she screamed her frustration if Espeon and Umbreon took offense to the sudden noise. The young woman came rushing back through the dark only to find Umbreon lighting the cavern and blinking in surprise. "You can do that?" She queried, a confused look on her face. The Eeveelutions were proving to be quite helpful even if she had believed they were mostly there just to be cute and cuddly. She didn't realize that Julian was just as surprised to learn these things as she was, convinced he had made a calculated decision and decided to let her give it a shot before solving their problems himself. It was embarrassing, but she appreciated the thought. "I didn't know you were like a walking flashlight. Are you sure you're not a Light Type, Umbreon?" Liz teased the Dark Type Eeveelution, kneeling down to pat him on the head in thanks. That comment sounded cuter in her head...With Umbreon lighting the way and Espeon leading it, Liz stood up and dusted her knees before gathering up Diggle more comfortably. She lifted Cherry off the floor while the Cyndaquil took this opportunity to take a break from being a lantern. He squeaked his appreciation to Umbreon, inwardly he was jealous the Dark Type was lighting the room so well. He could do better if he evolved, but if he evolved then Liz couldn't carry him anymore and he liked being held by her. The redhead moved up close to her friend and bumped shoulders lightly. She was smiling at him. "Thank you, Julian, again." She told him with true gratitude in the voice he could not hear. Her expression conveyed plenty. A quick, awkward adjustment of her cargo and Liz planted a quick peck on the cheek. It was nothing special, but she couldn't really offer him more at the moment. "Your Pokemon really saved us. I'm glad they could." She added with a shy smile. Maybe after Diggle recovered and they found Marcellus. Even if her attention did annoy the teen again, she was clearly showing more interest in him than she had before. Part of that was self-deception, thinking he had done all of this for her benefit, but it didn't make her any less aware of the young man.
The path Espeon took brought them out near the base of the mountain just outside Mahogany Town. Liz forgot her manners in the excitement of seeing civilization again. Her Aron was hurt and her Flaaffy had run herself into the snow for their friends. She at least needed to help her Aron recover before she regained her sense. If Julian didn't try to keep up he would get left behind in her eagerness to put Diggle into Joy's care. "Nurse! Nurse Joy! My Diggle needs your help. She got attacked by this Marill up on the mountain!" Liz cried, growing frantic between her exuberance and now unable to distract herself from her Aron's condition. Joy was startled by the outburst but only gave the young woman a patient nod and accepted Diggle before Cherry and the girl's other Pokeballs were sat on a tray for normal care. "Blissey, will you take care of these for me? I'll need your help to treat this Aron after that right away." Joy declared with Blissey saluting with a firm declaration of her own. The Normal Type took Cherry and the tray and set them on the device to recover while Joy took Diggle into the back for her cracked face mask. Liz sat down on a bench and fidgeted, not wanting to leave a single member of her team until Diggle was released. Blissey spoke up after a few minutes to declare that her Pokemon were recovered and just needed to rest a little while. Not that Liz understood, but she was happy to have the tray delivered. "Thanks. Please take care of my Diggle?" Elizabeth Morgan It took a while, but Liz refused to leave the Center without her Aron. When Nurse Joy came out the young woman had dozed off with her Cyndaquil cradled in her lap. He gave a soft squeak of acknowledgement as Diggle was brought out with an awkwardly positioned strap holding bandages to her face. Her nose was almost completely covered and the split made to leave her mouth exposed left her struggling to open it. “This was the best I could do.” Declared the woman as Liz woke to the warmth of her Aron. “I can’t repair the broken metal, but I can at least have it protected for now. Feed her plenty of iron for a durable base and let her have some strong alloys like steel and her face should heal on its own.” She explained, smiling brightly while Liz nuzzled her Aron on top of the head. “Thanks, Joy. So much.” Murmured the girl, kissing Diggle at the top of her mask.
”Hey, Joy?” The inquiring tone surprised the nurse as Liz avoided eye contact. “The man we were with—the handsome one who dresses nicely—have you seen him?” Liz asked which only earned a concerned frown from the Center attendant. “No, he hasn’t come back at all. I thought you were traveling together.” She answered. Maybe it was her job to make it a comfortable place but lying to make someone feel better didn’t seem helpful at all. If he was missing, he needed to be acknowledged as such. Liz quickly grew distressed by the thought. She swept Cherry into her other arm as she stood. “I have to go! We were attacked. I think he fell!” Liz hadn’t seen Marcellus go over, but her panicking imagination drew a somewhat accurate conclusion. Marcellus had fallen and was in need of aid. She was no use here—Diggle’s injury proved that—but she couldn’t leave him to be lost like that!
“Joy, if my friend wakes up tell him I went back. And I’m sorry I couldn’t wait.” Joy tried to protest but the redhead was already zipping her coat and hurrying into the snow to find her way back. Diggle was returned to her ball and Cherry was hugged tightly until they found the cave. ”Baby, I need you to be my light again. Are you OK to do that?” Liz asked to the reply of an excited Cyndaquil. Even if he had been exhausted he would try just to prove Umbreon wasn’t the only helpful cave explorer here. Elizabeth Morgan Liz and Cherry had gotten lost quickly after departing Mahogany Town proper. They were wandering the cave without any clue on how to proceed. The young Cyndaquil at least provided plenty of warmth and light for them to travel by. Liz still couldn't shake the feeling of being watched even though Cherry showed her multiple times that the walls were pretty close. Maybe the ceiling? But that didn't make sense for a bad feeling being close by--or right behind you! Liz spun around, but there was only darkness behind them with no sign of anything following them. A curious, misshapen head poked out from the wall once Liz was following Cherry again. Mimikyu couldn't help the quizzical noise it made before having to dive back into the wall to avoid the suspicious redhead. Was she a new friend? Had to be. Nobody but friends came into Mimikyu's part of the network. It would have to add her to its collection. That made another, more cheerful noise escape the creature's mouth as it traveled through the shadows and gave Elizabeth a fright as it passed right by her. Cherry heard the cry, but couldn't see the source. He was already nervous because of his trainer, now he was hearing things too! Being the brave one was hard! Why couldn't she do it for a change?! That was completely unfair and Cherry knew it. She was afraid of fire and ran back into a burning warehouse to save Pokemon she didn't know. Liz was brave, and Cherry was brave too. It was just so hard to be brave with all the creepy noises!
Liz looked past Cherry's light as if sensing the strange thing ahead of them. An Absol lurched out of the pitch dark and fell at Cherry's feet. This only earned a panicked cry from the Fire Type and Liz had to grab him to keep him from running away. Her arm throbbed from the proximity to such heat but she refused to let him disappear. "Oh my god! What happened?!" The young woman yelped, kneeling down to offer the calamitous Pokemon a berry. It took a lot of willpower not to strike it herself, honestly...Dark Type didn't mean evil. It did NOT mean evil! Liz had always felt guilty about such creatures as Absol. She had met one a couple years ago, trying to warn her not to go into Goldenrod. Liz, the angry young child she was, threw rocks at it until it fled. She knew a nasty Dark Type when she saw one! Just thinking back to that time made her heart pang for the injured creature before her. "Who here would have done this?" She murmured to her Cyndaquil, believing that Mahogany Town was full of much smarter, more reasonable human beings than herself. That suddenly didn't make sense. Liz perked up and pointed ahead of them. Cherry bounded forward to find signs of a fight like it had been attacked literally moments ago. This Absol was recently injured! Based on Absol's shape and the marks in the ice it had not fared well against its opponent. There was a deep score in the wall beside where Absol had apparently started. Its attacker tried to take its head off and had put plenty of force behind the endeavor. Liz heaved a wistful sigh as she began spraying down the Absol with potions and offering it more berries. "It's OK now...I-I won't let that thing hurt you." She whispered to the creature, hesitating again as she still struggled with her prejudice. The poor thing was hurt! How could she be worrying about her prejudice! Liz's voice caught in her throat as the Absol fixed her with a stern scowl. It did not approve of her lying to it. Even though she really did mean to help the poor creature, Liz was not as good a person as she sometimes pretended to be.. "I-I will. I will!" She had to hesitate again, then slapped her cheeks in her covered hands and nodded. "I'll protect you, Absol! Nobody deserves what was done to you!" She declared aloud, getting an uneasy stare from both Cherry and the Absol. The Pokemon looked down at Liz's Cyndaquil and they had a silent exchange that his human was weird but she really did mean well. Actually, the bit that worried him now was that he didn't even know if she were still alive! How could he have been so stupid?! A nap, he had taken a nap! If anything had happened to her, he would never forgive himself. Never. He raced out into the cold, his coat left behind in his room. Where would she go? It would be most likely she'd race off to where they had last seen Marcellus, so he raced off following the same path they had taken with the White-Prince. The wild Pokemon that had bothered them before were hardly stupid enough to bother the Trainer who was so obviously in a bad mood. The temper came off of him in waves and acted as a Max Repel.
Little did Julian know that the wild Pokemon were not the only threat he'd have to face. He was being watched even now by something far more bothersome than wild Fearow and Arbok. A Pokemon Poacher sat nestled in the tree Fearow had used as a place to observe. He had been tracking the wild Pokemon for their strength and ability, but when he spotted the Trainer running along as though he were being chased by ghosts, his curiosity was roused. Something was going on with this kid, and if there were Pokemon involved - Pokemon he could sell for a wonderfully high price of course - then he wanted to know all about it. He waited unseen until the kid had passed before climbing down and following at a distance.

Elizabeth Morgan At best, Absol was entirely too anxious to deal with this girl. The wounded creature scowled when Liz tried again to pat her on the head, snapping her jaws at her but not biting her. She wanted to be mad, but she was scared too. And nothing about Absol's behavior seemed genuinely malicious to her. "I'm sorry. I'm not very good at this..." She remarked with a heavy sigh. She crouched down low beside Absol after allowing it to lead her into a larger room of the cavern. "I promise, I really promise. I won't hurt you." She insisted, holding out her hand this time instead of trying to force her attention onto the Pokemon. Absol showed her teeth again but didn't snap this time. Progress! Liz only smiled at the creature who had more than enough reason to detest the human before her. Absol could see the darkened aura surrounding Liz, and Liz had learned already that Absol could sense that little beacon which attracted Ghost and Dark Type Pokemon. To Absol, Liz looked sick and corrupted, though her outward appearance showed none of those symptoms. "I know what I am." She murmured, drawing her hand away and resting her face into her knees. She couldn't be honest with herself unless she was dealing with something insightful like Absol. Cronus could have forced this kind of confession easily if he had been remotely interested in understanding the twists and turns of human perception. She had no idea how lucky she was that Mewtwo cared so little for comprehending her.
A Clefairy stumbled into the cave room, stepping toward Absol with a menacing smile. Cherry leaped into action and breathed fire into Clefairy's path. Without thinking, Liz grabbed onto Absol and tried to dive backward, only tumbling to the ground and dragging the surprisingly heavy creature on top of her. Her Pokeballs fell from her belt and skittered across the ground before Princess' button triggered and released Liz's new Salandit into the fight. Cherry tackled Clefairy away from their trainer and the Absol she was caring for, growling menacingly at the Fairy before it came right back and backhanded him across the face. While Cherry was in the middle of recovering, Salandit lunged into action and scratched up Clefairy viciously. She hadn't been with her new family for long, but she was appreciating Liz so far! She wasn't going to let this newcomer ruin their lives! Clefairy only growled at her, but Princess stubbornly latched onto its face and kept scratching until Clefairy staggered and fell to the ground. There was a faint blue glow in its eyes that coalesced near its head as Princess got off of her victim, watching the bead of light rise before vanishing into darkness. Absol growled at the light as Liz sat up, cleaning her charge off before tending her own dirty clothes. "Is everyone OK? It didn't hurt anyone, did it?" Liz called to the others, relieved to find Cherry coming out from the snow he'd been knocked into as Princess scampered over to cuddle up with Liz. She had been so uneasy before, like this Absol, and now she was an eager little salamander wanting to earn her keep on this new team. It made Liz smile, and hope that Absol wouldn't continue to hate her. Not that the Pokemon actually displayed genuine hate. She was just a reasonable creature with a reasonable fear. Liz probably didn't seem at all different from humans that hurt her before. She could only wonder at what Absol had been put through before all of this.

As he pulled his feet from the snow on each step he took, a voice broke through the wind and reached him. "Stop right there, Brat." Julian continued to walk, oblivious. "Your Pokemon must be pretty strong for you to feel comfortable up here. Hand 'em over if you don't want any trouble." Still Julian walked on, enraging the Trapper further. A blast of fire shot past Julian, ruffling his hair and clothing in it's wake. It exploded about five feet ahead of him. Julian was stopped short and blasted onto his back. When he hoisted himself onto a knee and looked around, it was to see a stranger standing there with a Charizard and a Fearow flying above him.
The first of the large winged creatures landed, Charizard's feet muffled by the accumulated snow. Fearow, however, attacked. Julian reacted quickly, throwing out a Pokeball. Persian padded the snow, looking from the enemy to the white powdery cold stuff. Clearly she wasn't a fan of either. Fearow flew at Persian, pecking the big cat hard around the head and neck. She put the aerial attacker to sleep and gathered power for her infamous trio of Thunder attacks. Not even that was enough to do the trick however, for Fearow woke up and pecked Persian yet again! She didn't bother to put it back to sleep, but instead attacked with the biggest and most powerful Thunder yet. Fearow did not stir after that.
Julian expected Charizard to attack next, but the Trapper had more than one trick up his sleeve. He recalled Fearow. Julian recalled Persian. He waited to see what the enemy would choose and, when he spotted the Steel-Type Bisharp, sent out Arcanine to counter it's typing. The Trapper obviously expected Arcanine to turn up the heat, and he was visibly surprised when rather than Flamethrower Arcanine used Close Combat. Arcanine slammed into Bisharp over and over again in a matter of seconds, using it's far-superior speed. He was damaged by the sharp blades on Bisharp's body, but toughed it out. Finally, with one final slam, Bisharp fell over and vanished into the tall snow - only to be recalled a moment later.
This time, despite the enemy Pokemon being returned, Julian did not return Arcanine. He wanted to provide the hound with more battle experience. They could not take this threat lightly, but neither could Julian pretend like this wasn't a good opportunity to test himself. This Trapper had strong Pokemon. It would be a test of his own metal as a Trainer whether or not he could beat this enemy. This time, the Trapper sent out a Pokemon that looked familiar, yet different. The Alolan Sandslash sharpened it's claws against each other. It was a different color, and the spikes on it's back and head weren't like that of the Sandslash he knew. This time Arcanine's Flamethrower was being shielded by the Pokemon's claws coming together. Sandslash pushed and forced his way closer to Arcanine, finally slashing across the hound's muzzle. Red splashed, painting the snow. Arcanine shot a jet of flame directly into Sandslash's face in retaliation. A second later, both Pokemon were returned.
The next Pokemon to face Julian was a Swanna, and Julian had flashbacks. Just how many Opponents would he face who had a Swanna? Perhaps this was their breeding season, and they were commonly found, but Julian also knew they were not native to this area. He wasn't sure what to think but he did know what to do. He sent out his rare Nightrial. Swanna shot bubbles, Nightrial shot Furno Pulses of electricity, and the type of these attacks matched up to where Nightrial had the advantage. The sleek black dragon roared when the bird began to fall from the sky. The enemy was recalled from the air before it could hit the ground. Julian and this Trapper stared across at each other as the deaf Trainer returned his dragon.
An Absol pawed the ground, and Julian wanted to send out one of his own four-legged Pokemon. However, it was Noctowl who made an appearance next. The Pokemon flew up higher and higher, vanishing from sight in the clouds and snowfall. He then fell from the sky and collided with Absol at impressive speed. Absol was far from defeated however. Absol swiped at Noctowl with the horn on it's head. Noctowl put the enemy to sleep and began to absorb all of it's health. While damaging, Noctowl was also recovering health as well. This went on for about a minute, Noctowl's psychic powers sapping Absol's health until the Trapper made the decision to return the Pokemon. Julian saw that the guy said something, but he didn't know or care what it was.
Finally it was time for Julian to face what he had been most concerned about - Charizard. He knew these pseudo-dragons were extremely powerful, and he couldn't take that thing on lightly. Charizard walked forward, kicking out snow from the path of it's feet. Even for Charizards, this one was on the larger size. Julian worried it was powerful enough to match it's size. Suddenly, the boy had an idea. It was a risky idea, but these were desperate measures. If he could not beat this Trapper, his Pokemon were as good as gone. Steeling himself, he threw out a Pokeball which erupted into the massive Legendary Pokemon. Zekrom immediately looked around for something to attack, and spotted Charizard. Julian enjoyed the look of sheer awe and fear on the Trapper's face. Clearly he had not expected one of the Gods of this world to be working alongside such a weak-looking Trainer. Charizard didn't stand a chance, and they all knew it.
Still though, it took flight and tried using Dragon Claw attacks. Zekrom roared and it's electrical attacks filled the air and struck the ground. The attacks ran along the ground, each spot they touched erupted one after another. When the smoke cleared, neither Charizard nor it's Owner could be found. Presumably they had been blasted away. Zekrom turned it's head and looked at Julian. He had a feeling it was deciding whether or not to attack, but the ground began to rumble and shake beneath their feet. Both of them turned to look up the mountain to see thousands of tons of snow rolling and building as it fell towards them down the mountains. Zekrom realized what was happening. It lowered itself, making it's intentions clear; it wanted Julian to climb on. He stared at it in shock. Until now, he was just as likely to have the Legendary attack him than save him. What had changed? He was brought back to his senses as the snow was nearly upon them. He rushed onto Zekrom's back and they shot into the sky. From above, they watched the snow crash over where they had been mere moments before.
He prayed Liz was not down there. 'CRONUS!' He thought loudly and desperately, hoping the Psychic-Legendary was keeping tabs on him and Liz both. The Pokemon was his only hope in knowing the fate of Liz and Marcellus. Julian scanned the transformed landscape as he looked for a signal, a flame, anything. TL;DR

Elizabeth Morgan One foe had fallen, but Absol knew what was here. She growled at the darkness while Liz was congratulating her Salandit on defeating her first opponent. Who could ever have been so cruel as to abandon such a sweet little Fire Type? She was so strong, too! Clefairy had been beaten easily enough, and Liz was grateful that it happened. She was distracted petting and praising her Pokemon so the Marill that followed got the jump on them. Absol--against her better judgment--leapt in the path of the sudden charge and blocked its tail with her horn. It swung and smashed that little ball until it caught Absol across the jaw and knocked her down. Liz screamed in shock and Princess was quick to respond. She was fed and warm because of this noisy human, the least she could do is fight for her! Marill curled up and rolled into Salandit who jumped at the attack instead of trying to avoid it. She was rolled over, but managed to hang onto Marill long enough to deliver several painful Scratches to its body before she was thrown off. Marill popped out of its ball, scattering debris it had gathered in its roll, before spitting a flurry of bubbles at Liz's new Pokemon. "NO! You get away from her!" Liz did not think well, and she was in a stressful situation, making her prone to even stupider decisions than normal. Instead of recalling her Salandit, she decided to dive in front of it and took the brunt of Marill's Bubble to her back. Princess squawked out in dismay even as she was shielded from the attack. Liz grabbed up the little salamander in her arms and curled against Marill's assault, covering her head with one hand while she cradled Salandit in the other.
Liz was too preoccupied with protecting Salandit to make a better decision. It was lucky that Absol had regained her senses. Using her abilities to predict disaster, she found one ball that she felt was least likely to end in more pain. Gus barked happily when he was released, not realizing the danger until he unwittingly jumped in front of Marill's bubbles. He was shoved up against Liz and yelped in shock and pain before righting himself and pushing back against the assault. He puffed his cheeks and blew a pulse of water out that scattered Marill's attack. When he prepared to attack Marill, it was already curled up again and rolling toward him. Just like Princess, Gus was no quitter, he met Marill head on with Headbutt. The Seel reeled from the impact, but Marill was sent flying backward and slammed into the wall hard enough to leave a small, mouse-shaped crater where it stayed. Gus barked triumphantly and clapped his flippers together as if he had just done a neat trick rather than rescue his trainer from certain doom.

Elizabeth Morgan While Liz was still recovering from being attacked by Marill, Gus cozied up to his trainer and let her take advantage of his thick body for warmth. The Seel yawned aloud as he got comfortable, Liz only smiling at her goofy little friend and rubbing his big head. "My hero." She whispered to her sleepy Pokemon as he dozed off. Liz smiled at Salandit as well, scratching her gently on her head as she cuddled the two. When Clefable arrived, Marill's dark light was still leaving its body, leaving a ghostly shimmer on the poor little Mouse which Clefable grabbed out of the air and absorbed into its body. The smile it wore was frightening as it took a menacing step toward Liz. "Oh no..." Absol was the one to act foolishly this time. In her panic, the Pokemon interjected herself between Liz and Clefable instead of finding another Pokemon. Diggle's ball snapped open and the angry little Aron stumbled in Absol's way next, growling fiercely and glaring at Clefable. "Leave my idiot alone." The Aron warned, her growl growing louder as Clefable began to wag its fingers side to side. When its fingers began to glow Absol shrank back in fear while Diggle lurched forward. Clefable pointed one finger at the group and a magical flower bloomed before firing a bright pink beam at the group. "Diggle! Don't!" Liz cried, seeing her Aron run toward certain doom. "LIKE I CARE!"
The explosion rocked the group of Liz and her Pokemon, tumbling her onto her back in a heap with Absol piled on top of her with the others. Diggle raked Clefable across the face as it tried to avoid her furious counter attack. She landed on her forepaws and turned to kick Clefable, sending it staggering back. Another turn and Diggle came back again with Metal Claw carving a deep trio of wounds across Clefable's chest. Clefable grew anxious after that and did an odd dance the moment Diggle eased up on her assault. It sang a confusing tune that made her step back before it began to shrink. Diggle bellowed and lunged for Clefable, diving headfirst into the ice as she tried to finish the rotten thing off. Clefable began to dance away from Diggle, using its decreased size to avoid its angry opponent. Diggle dug her claws into the ice and hurled herself at Clefable, making her mask glow before transferring to her claws again. Metal Claw struck against what felt like a shield. Clefable looked like it was holding her off before that field shattered and Diggle slashed into Clefable once more. It cried out in pain and staggered before falling to the ground. Diggle growled angrily at the spectral light, glaring at it as if it were a different creature altogether. Liz got up to grab her Aron and drag her away from the strange energy. It pulsed and shuddered before a noise like a scream caused it to burst and vanish from sight. "What was that!?" Liz looked down at the defeated Clefable, suddenly concerned now that she had an idea of what she was dealing with. Clefable did not look so menacing now, and she did not think it was because it was unconscious. Liz went about healing her Pokemon--and their opponents--waiting for at least one of them to wake up so she could try and get some explanations. She was sure now that none of them looked nearly as threatening anymore...
