 As soon as he defeated the little brat Church climbed back into the spinning cup with Vine and headed back up to the top. By now he was beginning to get a little annoyed. What did any of this stuff have to do with getting a badge? He didn't come here to play carnival games, he came here to test his strength against a gym leader dammit. He continued going up and down until he thought his arms might fall off, and by the time it stopped at the bottom platform he had been aiming for the whole time he was royally pissed. It was finally time to battle the Gym Leader as Church was led onto the large Battlefield. He healed up his pokemon and watched as a young kid entered the arena from the left. You have got to be kidding me. Church had heard that Allister was young, but he didn't expect him to be that young. They really would make anyone a Gym Leader with the right connections wouldn't they? With a shake of his head he waited for the battle to begin, at least this one might be easy. Even so, he never let down his guard.

MochaHaving stayed more or less silent in the course of the battle, Allister's Gengar fell in defeat, dwindling into the shadows of the stadium, and without too much more fuss it seemed that the battle was won. Still being in the midst of the off season, the stadium wasn't full of crowds and on lookers, there were a few stragglers but otherwise the stadium was as silent as one would expect ghosts to be, like a cemetery. Allister was opposite his opponent up until the same shadows that the Gengar melted away into shifted quickly on the ground and pulled the boy in by his feet, and just as quickly as he had disappeared, he noiselessly turned up behind his opponent now, looking up from behind the blank face of the mask he wore. He did well to keep the pale skin of his right hand tucked in close to his body, but reached out his gloved left hand that held his badge now, offering it in victory to his challenger.
"Thank you... For challenging. Here's our badge, for winning," his voice was just barely above a whisper, it even sounded distant as if it was coming from somewhere other than right in front of his challenger, and there was a glimpse of a pair of eyes flashing across the dark surface of his mask, likely the Gengar in staying so close to its trainer, though there was really no telling if the eyes belonged to a Pokemon or not.

 Almost as soon as Grim reached Stow-on-side he found a wild pokemon milling about it's outskirts. Sadly it wasn't one that could help him in the gym, but it could still be good practice for his pokemon never the less.

Grim healed up Shade before moving onward through the outskirts of Stow-on-side looking for another opponent. Although he had intended to catch something here to help him in the next gym battle he was beginning to realize he was thinking too deeply on it. He wanted to be a trainer that had faith in his pokemon did he not? So why would he need new pokemon? Getting a new pokemon just for an advantage at a gym was starting to seem shallow of him. Sure it was needed in the beginning, but now he had more than enough for now.
He took a deep breath and forced himself to relax. If they worked hard enough at it surly they could win, right? If he found good pokemon in his travels he would catch them, but he promised himself never to do it simply to gain advantage. It simply wasn't the kind of trainer he wanted to be. Grim finally deemed his team ready and headed into the nearby Gym after healing up his team. It was time. He changed into his challenger's uniform and proceeded into the next room. There he was met with a rather odd sight. A cart awaited him and, looking down past it, he could see a maze of tracks winding down a steep slope. The attendent explained the concept of the challenge to him before departing and leaving Grim to stare at the cart before him. He only had one pokemon capable of helping him spin the wheel, but he was unsure whether she would help him or not.
With a sigh Church released Tokumei and climbed into the cart, there he explained to her what he needed from her, and to his surprise she obliged. Although with a puff of smoke in his face first. The two spun the wheel and careened down the slope. It took them five tries to reach the first trainer, whereas they quickly got out of the cart for a battle. Finally it was time. Grim was lead into an unusually dark stadium with a ceiling closed to the sky. He had to admit it fitted a Gym that used ghosts quite well. He took up his position and healed up his pokemon once again before waiting for the battle to begin. For a moment he was nervous, but it quickly vanished. If they lost then they would just have to train more and try again right? There was no use worrying about the outcome, he just had to trust in his pokemon to give it their all.
Movement caught the corner of his eye as Alister drifted in to take up the spot opposite Grim. From where he stood grim couldn't make out too much detail about the Gym leader, other than the rather creepy mask anyway. MochaAllister's grinning ghost faded, and melted down into a simple shadow on the already dark ground. There was a red flash as Allister returned his beloved Gengar. However, if looked away for even a split second, when his eyes returned to Allister he would be gone. The standing area where he was would be completely empty, and he couldn't be seen anywhere nearby despite the flat arena. After a few moments, Allister appeared standing near Grim just to his right, his short stature looking up at the taller male through his blank mask. "Thank you... For the challenge." The young boy spoke in a fairly quiet voice. The boy tilted his head slightly after a moment of silence, merely starting at the male, eyes glowing from within the mask. "We like your Charmeleon, Tokumei" Allister complimented, using Tokumei's name, making it unclear how he had actually knowing the Pokemon's name. "Here is our badge..." Grim headed to the nearest pokemon center to heal up his pokemon, as well as put Duke away in his PC. The next gym would be fairy type, and Grim had a feeling Duke was close to evolving. Once he evolved he would have trouble dealing with fairy types, so for now Grim chose to let him sit this one out. This would open up a spot on his team for Nova, of which he was hoping to train and catch up to the others. An Eevee could be mighty useful as Luckett had taught him, especially once they evolved.
With that buisness taken care of, Grim released Luckett and Raika and began short walk to Glimwood Tangle.
