Kira had spent a great deal of time goofing around - something she'd gotten to do very little of for a teenager. Now that there was no pressure to perform, or earn gym badges from the toughest battles imagineable, she could rest just as well as the dragons who were on vacation (from her). Even now, she could picture half of them sitting on a beach soaking up the sun and the other half on a distant mountain top, reunited with dragon friends they'd made from past adventures. She hoped that, wherever they actually were, they were having fun.
Sure, she still got up to trouble now and then. For instance, the Rookidee who found entertainment by dropping seeds on her from the powerlines above. The Goomy materializing next to it knocked it out with a single hit. Despite it's annoying behavior, she wasn't cruel. She picked up the bird and set it safely beside her on the bench, even spraying it with a Potion so that it could recover faster. When it woke, it looked at her first with fear, then confusion, and finally with acceptance that maybe she wasn't such a bad Human.
It had been about three weeks since separating from her team of dragons, the friends she'd had for so long and been through so much beside. She was really starting to miss them. She walked down the street, parting ways from her Rookidee friend, and trying to decide what to do next when gasps from people around her drew her gaze to them. They were looking up, so she turned to look up too. There, flying towards her, were a group of very large and very dangerous-looking dragons. A grin lit up her face.
