Deep within the trees, shrouded by the darkness that comes with the thick canopy of the leaves and branches, long forgotten by most and avoided by any others, the Old Chateau sits in the deepest parts of Eterna Forest, untouched and undisturbed for what could be decades by now. Once a beautiful and prosperous mansion that doubled as a sort of inn for weary travelers, the Old Chateau was the crown jewel of the Eterna Forest. However, after a brutal thunderstorm that caused far too much damage to the mansion for it's repair, the chateau was abandoned, and has since been left to rot within the trees. Much of it still stands today contrary to what others might say about it, though the walls are old and rotted with vines growing up the sides and trees even growing within the very rooms inside. The carpets are worn to almost nothing and the tile is cracked and grimy with dirt and leaves, but it is not just it's appearance that keeps visitors at bay, instead it is the rumor of ghosts and spirits that walk the halls still to this day, wondering what happened to their home.

Elfana Aroway Drowning. That was the word she was looking for. Elfana felt as if she were drowning in her own thoughts. It was as if she were close to breaking the surface but something was preventing her from getting through. For the second time that night, something woke her up. A soft, confused whine and something warm nuzzling her...She opened her eyes when the thing nuzzled her again. Whatever it was really wanted her attention. "What?" She groaned, rolling on to her back and holding her injured...paw. Injured paw. "What the fuck?!" She screeched, startling the poor Cyndaquil next to her. "What happened to my hands?!" Elfana was on her feet in a matter of seconds, patting her new fluffy form. "What is this?!" She grabbed what appeared to her to be a Lopunny ear, pulling it in front of herself so she could get a better look at it. "...Oh my god." At some point she must have decided to sit back done because she found herself on the ground again, staring down at her hands. "I'm...I'm a rabbit? Why am I a rabbit?!" She cried out again, this time in pure frustration. How had this happened?! Why was she a Lopunny?! She couldn't organize her thoughts long enough to try to make any sort of sense of the situation. Attempting to do so just made her head hurt more. Liandry watched her poor trainer try to pick through whatever dilemma she was apparently encountering. She did not look like a rabbit to her. Her trainer looked like the same warm, soft human she had always been. Her orange hair reminded her of a Typhlosion if anything. She placed a little paw on Elfana's leg. "Cynda?" Her trainer probably wasn't feeling well. Not feeling well would explain why she was asleep on the ground too. "...Wha- Liandry!" Elfana scooped up the Cyndaquil, hugging it to her chest. Things weren't all bad. Sure she was a rabbit but she had just found or Cyndaquil. Or her Cyndaquil had just found her rather. "Are you okay? What happened?" The Cyndaquil tilted her head and did her best to respond but there was no way her trainer had understood any of it. Elfana blinked. "I'm a rabbit. Shouldn't I be able to understand you?" She mused, pulling on one of the rabbit ears. Something in her must have broken when she changed. To Liandry it looked as if her trainer were trying to pull out her own hair. She grabbed her wrist and whined loudly. "Stop that. You're going to hurt yourself."
Elfana glanced at the Cyndaquil then shook her head. "A problem for later I suppose. Where did you come from?" Her head felt awful and she was a rabbit but that wasn't going to stop her from finding the rest of her Pokemon! Liandry nuzzled her hand then pointed in the direction of the old mansion. "In there?" The "Lopunny" stood up, cradling her Cyndaquil in her arms. She had one of her Pokemon back and she was not going to let anyone take her from her. "Guess that means we're going in there too then." Liandry appeared less than thrilled by this but she didn't protest. This was now a rescue mission. The pair made their way into the mansion with Liandry guiding Elfana. Her poor trainer seemed to be having the worst time navigating. She was acting as if the ground was spinning beneath her.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Liandry (Cyndaquil) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 23/25 Wild Encounter: 17/7 Item Posting: Fan Plug 22/30 OOC: Travel Egg active for Liandry. 4/7/20 {Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway The inside of the Chateau felt almost oppressive. Something about the air made Elfana feel even worse than she had when she was outside. The temperature didn't help any. How was it colder inside than it had been outside?! She briefly found herself wondering if the cold could perhaps be caused by Ice Types living within the building but the idea was quickly dismissed. If there were any Ice Types lurking around they were doing an excellent job of hiding themselves. The only evidence of Pokemon she found belonged to birds- which did little to help her mood. "Feathered beasts." She muttered as she picked a small black feather off of a nearby table, studying it briefly before setting it back down. Judging by the appearance of it (which could very well be off due to her lack of glasses), she felt it safe to assume that there were at least Murkrow lurking somewhere nearby. She made a mental note to wash her hands later before continuing on. The Chateau looked like it had been abandoned a long time ago. She knelt down, brushing aside some of the old leaves and dirt so she could get a better look at the worn out carpet hidden underneath it. "This place has seen better days." She muttered, her gaze drifting from the carpet to her "paw". "Not that I can talk." Elfana rolled her eyes and wiped her paw on her thigh. Her Pokemon had to be around there somewhere. She hoped they would have an answer to her current predicament with them. How would she be able to go back to work if she was stuck as a Lopunny forever?!
Her exploration of the ground floor of the building had yet to have any results. She hadn't found her Pokemon nor did she have an explanation for why she was suddenly a Lopunny. The longer she spent wandering, the more steady she became. While not feeling like the ground was going to fall out from under her was pleasant, she was still certain something was very off- the obvious addition of fluffy ears aside. "This type of environment seems like it would be the perfect place for...something." She commented as she pushed open a doorway that lead into the kitchen. What was it perfect for? She could walk just fine but her head still wasn't clear enough. Murkrow were Dark Types...what went well with Dark? Elfana set Liandry down and sat down on one of the counters. Her feet were sore. Not grabbing shoes had been a terrible idea on her part. "Something cliche. What's dark and edgy enough to go with something creepy like birds?" Creepy...that's what this place was. The Chateau was creepy and creepy would typically imply Dark Types and..."Ghosts."
No sooner had the word come out of her mouth did she see her Cyndaquil launch herself a solid two feet into the air and screech. "Called it!" She sighed as she studied the Gastly that had just phased through the wall and licked her Cyndaquil's face. Liandry protested loudly as the Ghost began to laugh at her. What a rude Ghost! "Liandry." The Cyndaquil looked up at her trainer, tears of frustration beginning to form as the Ghost continued to mock her. "Burn it." Elfana had had quite enough of Ghosts and their antics for once day. Their short break was over and they needed to get back to searching for their team. She wasn't ordering her Pokemon to take down the Ghost because she was furious with it for making her Cyndaquil cry...not at all. The Gastly's expression quickly changed when the room was lit up by Liandry's Ember. It glared down at the Fire Type as it tried to shake off the damage only to be set on fire again. Then once more after it lit up the room with a flash of its own, causing the Cyndaquil to begin stumbling. Its laughter resumed when it managed to get close enough to lick Liandry again. Her attempt at headbutting it away caused her to smack her head against one of the cabinets, knocking the poor thing flat.
The Gastly had just started to celebrate when the door to the kitchen was knocked clean off of its hinges. A deafening roar rang out and before the Ghost could react it was headbutted right back through the wall it had originally come from by a charging Cranidos. Cranberry scd his foot against the ground and growled. "You leave my mama alone you dumb floating coconut!" That Gastly had not been the first "flying coconut" that the Cranidos had dealt with but it was definitely the most satisfying. He was just glad he could make it in time to knock it away from his trainer! Elfana knelt down and carefully picked up her Cyndaquil, wishing she had her Pokeball with her so she could let the poor thing get some rest. "Thank y-" She was almost bowled over as the Cranidos latched on to her leg and cooed up at her. "Thank you." She couldn't help but smile slightly as she patted his head. Liandry would get to rest properly after they found the others and Cranberry would be getting a treat later for helping her.

Elfana Aroway Fifteen minutes later and Elfana was back to blindly roaming the halls of the Chateau. She had briefly examined the kitchen for anything that looked like it might assist her in fending off any pesky Ghosts but had come up with nothing. Attempting to swat away a Ghost with a pan seemed a bit to unreasonable for her tastes. The pan would likely go straight through them so attempting to swing at them would be a whole lot of wasted effort. Some small part of her wished she had grabbed anything that she could use as a weapon. Now that she was exploring again and well aware of the Ghost Types and birds that inhabited the building, she felt hilariously under equipped. She was in no way prepared for her current situation. Things weren't all bad though. While she hadn't walked away from the kitchen entirely empty handed. She had found a few odd candies- the age of which were more than a little bit questionable- and Cranberry had found a couple of Pokeballs while he had been running around headbutting "coconuts". All of them were empty, which Elfana considered to be highly unfortunate. When she first saw them she had hoped that Cranberry had located the rest of her team. She had hidden her disappointment well fortunately. He hadn't noticed anything as she pat his head and praised him for his efforts. The fossil had remained attached to her leg since he found her. He didn't want another Ghost to get anywhere near his trainer or her unconscious Cyndaquil. She was grateful for his diligence. Having something to fight off Ghosts herself might have been nice but an overprotective ancient Pokemon was just as good- if not better.
Elfana hadn't realized she had stopped paying attention to their location until a bright flash off to her left caught her attention. "What?" She blinked then shook her head. Had that been a Pokemon? Or was there still power in this old place somehow? Against her better judgement, she decided to investigate the flash. She turned just in time to see a light on the wall behind her flicker to life before going out once more. Another light further down the hall lit up the dark space soon after. "This is exactly how people die in horror movies." She muttered to herself...then proceeded to follow the lights. Something wanted her attention and it had gotten it. The lights continued leading her deeper into the Chateau until she arrived in what she assumed was once an entertainment room of some sort. The television in the room was lit up, though the screen only showed static. "Pointing out that something is idiotic then doing it anyway doesn't make it any better, you know." A voice called out from the television, making her freeze up for a second. It was the closest thing to a startled reaction that it was going to get from her. "Huh. It speaks." This had to be another Ghost of some sort. What sort of Ghost could inhabit a television and communicate with her? "I appreciate your ability to state the obvious." The lights in the room flickered briefly but Elfana didn't pay them any mind. She was too busy trying to figure out what she might be dealing with currently. "Another Gastly? Unlikely. Misdreavus, perhaps?" She crossed her arms, tapping a "paw" against the floor while she tried to clear her head enough to figure out exactly what she was dealing with. "Aaaaaand now she's talking to herself. Great." Elfana waved a "paw" dismissively at the television. "Could it be...a Rotom?" She glanced at the flickering screen and hummed. "Definitely a Rotom." The television let out a delighted little cry then laughed. "Well I'll be cuddled to death by Growlithes! There might be something going on in there after all. It's pretty hard to tell though. What with you wandering into a trap and-" The television let out a second cry, this time because it was utterly destroyed as Cranberry slammed straight into it. The Rotom had been so distracted by Elfana that it hadn't noticed Cranberry glaring at it from behind her leg.
The unconscious Rotom was left laying in the wreckage of the television as Cranberry scd his feet, preparing to charge again. It was saved when Elfana decided to put one of her newly found Pokeballs to use and tossed it at it. For a second it appeared that the Ghost was going to escape from the ball but in the end it was captured. The room was silent and dark once more as the lights it had previously been manipulating all went out. "That one was a treat." She commented with a small shrug as Cranberry grabbed the Pokeball, carrying it back to her. A Rotom might be useful eventually...she just wished it hadn't been such a brat.

Elfana Aroway "At this rate I'm going to end up hating Ghosts." Elfana muttered to herself as she entered what she could only assume had once been a bedroom. "This kinda shit is exactly why I don't leave my lab." She kicked aside a bit of debris, cursing a moment later when she remembered that she did not have shoes on. Didn't she have paws now? The lack of shoes shouldn't matter! She sighed, staring down at the sleeping Cyndaquil in her arms. Her Pokemon weren't acting like she had changed any- which was nice. They had immediately accepted her new form...She blinked and tilted her head. "I'm the only one acting like there's anything wrong with me." Liandry had reacted to her behavior with confusion. She hadn't acknowledged the supposed change at all. Elfana shook her head, trying to clear it enough to come to the conclusion she knew should have been obvious all along. She was in a mansion surrounded by Ghosts and other creatures that could easily mess with her head! "Come on! You know this!" She grabbed at what should have been an ear, pulling on it hard. The sharp pain that followed caused her to wince. When she looked down at her paw she saw several strands of orange hair. "An illusion." She let the bits of hair fall on to the floor. There was obviously something in the mansion messing with her but her latest conclusion significantly narrowed down the list of potential suspects. "New plan, Cranberry. We find the others then we punish the little brat that caused this mess." The Cranidos let out an excited cry, charging right on past her and straight through the wall near her. He was going to find the bad thing and headbutt it! "That's one way to do it." Elfana frowned but didn't even consider scolding him. His enthusiasm was appreciated and honestly- who cared if her Cranidos put a few more holes in the building? Such behavior would be strongly discouraged when they were in a town but the Chateau was abandoned. He wasn't hurting anything.
A second crashed followed not long after. Cranberry was charging through every structure he could find now, hoping to scare out any Ghost that might be trying to hide from them. If they could hide in a television then they could be hiding anywhere! Elfana followed his path of destruction, crawling through any holes that were big enough or calling him back to expand the holes when she needed him to. "Good boy." She called to him as he smashed his way through yet another wall. This was making the entire process of searching so much easier. Several loud crashes followed before Cranberry came to a stop. She was almost worried he had gotten himself stuck into she crawled through his most recent hole. The Cranidos was bouncing from foot to foot, resisting the urge to run at his little Turtwig friend and the clearly terrified Bounsweet that was hiding behind him. Had she not been there Pantalaimon would have been on the receiving end of a hug from a charging Cranidos. He babbled away at Pantalaimon while he bounced. The Turtwig was just as happy to see him and his trainer. Elfana stared at the Bounsweet, wondering where it had come from until she remembered the extra Pokeballs that she had gotten from Kana. She must have occupied one of them. "Did Kana send you?" She questioned the Grass Type, more than a bit frustrated that Kana had sent another plant her way. The Turtwig was more than enough for her. She sighed, not waiting for the Bounsweet to respond before scooping her up. It wasn't her fault that Kana thought that irritating his twin was hilarious. She wouldn't hold it against the Grass Type. "Shhh. You're safe now." Elfana tried to reassure the small berry before smiling at her sweet Turtwig. "Did you protect her?" Pantalaimon did his best to nod while Cranberry squished him, giving up after a moment and wiggling a little foot at his trainer instead. "You did great, Pantalaimon." All of her Pokemon were going to need some sort of treat after this mess was over...They would have to stop somewhere nice for lunch tomorrow. "Have you seen Kiro anywhere?" Pantalaimon seemed to deflate when he was asked about the Croagunk. He whined, waving out the door towards the hallway. "He left us all alone!" The Turtwig pouted at the hallway. "He's the big Pokemon! We're still little! He shouldn't have left us!"
Elfana looked towards the hallway. "Back out that way then?" She couldn't understand Pantalaimon but she didn't really need to. Pantalaimon's flailing had given her more than enough to work with. "Let's get moving." Elfana Aroway Elfana made her way through the Chateau with newly found confidence. She had a direction and she had an idea of what she was working with. Her Pokemon seemed to have picked up on the shift in her mood, though Pantalaimon remained close to her heels as she walked. Cranberry was still taking every opportunity to headbutt anything that was even vaguely in their path. She made no effort to stop him. The Ghosts of the Chateau had gone out of their way to inconvenience her so she was happy to take every opportunity to make things difficult for them in return- be it through destroying bits of the building or making a hell of a lot of noise. This was her small punishment for every Ghost that had been a problem so far. Cranberry charged into one of the rooms a little ways down the hall, smashing right through the wall a few seconds later in pursuit of a Gastly. The panicking Ghost did its best to outrun the Cranidos but it was knocked right through the floor by him. He scd his feet against the ground and roared, running off in search of his next target. They would be sore later but she doubted that there would be any lasting damage to any of the Ghost her Cranidos ran down. Before long any Ghost Types in the area started clearing out. The temperature seemed to shift with their departure. While the air was still cold, it wasn't anywhere near as oppressive as it had been. She welcomed the change. Things were starting to go in their favor.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Liandry (Cyndaquil), Cranberry (Cranidos), Elisa (Bounsweet), Pantalaimon (Turtwig) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 27/25 Wild Encounter: 7/7 Item Posting: Fan Plug 26/30 OOC: {Spoiler}{Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway Elfana couldn't say she was surprised when the lights began to flicker again. "Another Rotom?" She muttered, watching as the lights quickly moved away from them. This one didn't seem even a little bit interest in trying to trap her like the last one had been. The Rotom was trying to escape her Cranidos' rampage and it seemed to think the best way to do that was to hide in things out of his reach. She couldn't fault it for that. "But I also can't let you escape." Rotoms were far too useful to pass up the opportunity to catch another. She watched it jump from light to light, noting a lamp in its path on a table at the end of the hall. "Cranberry, stand in the center of the hall. Hold position." The Cranidos roared in frustration but listened to his trainer anyway. There had to be a reason she wasn't letting him attack the lamp monster but that reason was bothersome! He wanted to run at it! Elfana watched the fleeing Ghost, counting down until it was almost at the end of the hall. "Now, Cranberry." That was all the Cranidos needed. It took off down the hall, his loud cry echoing through the building. Right as the Rotom tried to duck inside of the lamp the table and lamp were smashed by the Cranidos. The poor Ghost was thrown out, leaving it open to another attack from the Cranidos. With a bright flash of light it attempted to confuse the fossil so it could make its escape. This would have been successful had Elfana not thrown a Pokeball at it immediately after. She really needed to thank Cranberry for finding the Pokeballs earlier. They were a great help. While the Pokeball shook on the ground, Cranberry crashed through the nearest door. He hadn't realized the battle had ended. She retrieved the Pokeball after it signaled that the Rotom had been captured, glancing at the remains of the door and shrugging. "You okay?" The Cranidos had fallen flat on to his belly and was grumbling to himself. He roared and hopped back up when he heard his trainer. "Good. Thank you for your help, Cranberry." She started to smile when he roared again but quickly shushed him when she caught something...above them? "Kiro." Elfana looked up, trying to follow the sound of croaking and...something that sounded almost like a blade colliding with wood. "We're going up then." There was a large enough hole in the ceiling nearby for her to get through. If she could figure out how to get her Pokemon up there it could be useful to her.

Elfana Aroway Getting through the hole was easier said than done. Elfana had dragged a table under it then placed a chair on top of that. She could easily grab the edges and pull herself up from there. The problem was getting her Pokemon up there. Pantalaimon was enough enough. He weighed so little that she had no trouble lifting him over the edge. Her Bounsweet was similarly simple to get to the next floor. She weighed all of nothing. Liandry proved to be a problem. The first two were able to keep themselves up there after she got them up. Liandry was still out cold. "Cranberry?" The Cranidos perked up in response to his name, staring up at his trainer curiously. He was seated on the floor next to the table. Convincing him to not continue his ghost hunt had been difficult but he seemed satisfied knowing there would likely be another battle soon. "I'm trusting you not to drop her. After we get you up there I'm going to hand Liandry off to you." The Cranidos clapped and roared. He was being trusted to help! Elfana was already worried that she had made the wrong decision. It was too late to change her mind now though. She hopped down from the chair, setting Liandry on the table next to it so she could pick up her Cranidos. He was significantly heavier than her other Pokemon. She was worried that she would end up dropping him when she tried to lift him. Fortunately she managed to avoid that. As soon as Cranberry was steady she handed Liandry off to him. He dragged the Cyndaquil away from the hole, making sure she didn't fall and giving Elfana plenty of room to pull herself up next. "When we were outside I could have sworn that I only saw two floors. Maybe I was wro-" No. No she was not. As soon as she pulled herself up she was hit by an entirely different sort of cold than what she had felt inside. "How in the hell did I miss that?" She grumbled as she took Liandry from Cranberry. "Stay close together. Don't move around more than you have to." A Bounsweet and a Turtwig did not need to be stumbling around on a roof. They were too likely to slip and fall. After making sure they were safe she finally looked towards the source of all of the noise she had heard. Two Croagunks and a Pawniard were locked in a fight with each other. The Pawniard had no idea which Croagunk was the correct Croagunk so his solution was to fight them both.
"I figured as much." Elfana began to make her way across the roof, taking care to not step on any section that looked too weak. She did not want to fall back inside. It was obvious that whatever her headache was has taken the form of her Croagunk. She had known that since she located Pantalaimon. Kiro would never abandon the younger Pokemon in such a sketchy place. "You could at least try to make an effort to act like the Pokemon you're mimicking." She called to the fake frog. "Pawniard, return. The roof is enough of a mess as it is without you slashing it apart." The Pawniard paused its attempt to cut one of the Croagunks apart, one of its blades stopping short of digging into the roof. Honestly, Elfana had no idea of the Pawniard was sent with the Bounsweet. She was going to look ridiculous if it didn't listen to her. "Also- it's the one on the left. If you weren't so determined to blindly flail at them you would realize one of them is actively avoiding hitting you." That was something that they would need to work on. Cranberry could be as brainless as he wanted to be. He was a Cranidos. She didn't expect anything but Cranidos behavior from him. The Pawniard was going to be held to a higher standard. "Kiro, Moonblast." The Croagunk on the left paused long enough to croak at her before unleashing a ball of pink energy at the other Croagunk. "Kiro, what?" The Gengar yelped as it was hit by the attack. Since when could a Croagunk learn Moonblast?!
A bright flash briefly blinded Kiro, causing him to stumble a bit. The Gengar used this opening to land a sharp punch to the Croagunk's side, letting its illusion drop soon after. Kiro growled sharply, moving to headbutt the Ghost despite being blinded. He wasn't sure if he made contact and he wasn't given a chance to find out. He slipped and slid down the roof, nearly going over the edge. "Kiro!" Elfana followed after him, almost falling off herself in her attempt to grab her Croagunk. She managed to grab him, hugging him to her chest like Liandry. "Cranberry! Deal with it!" She yelled to her Cranidos. He didn't need to be told twice. Cranberry ran across the roof with only one goal in mind: total destruction of the Mega Coconut. This one had the same face as the small coconuts so it was clearly the final boss of Coconuts. For his efforts he was punched by the Gengar, who was in no way okay with the sudden turn of events. Croagunks and Pawniards were fine! This thing was a roaring monstrosity and he wanted none of it! Unfortunately he didn't get a say in the matter. The Gengar unleashed a cloud of poison, trying to blind the fossil, but it wasn't enough. "Not even close, Mega Coconut!" Cranberry charged right at him. "Mega what-" What even was this team?! The Gengar didn't get a chance to question it further. Cranberry hit him dead on. Like the small coconuts before him the Gengar was knocked out. Cranberry scd his feet against the roof and roared. Elfana left him to celebrate his victory over the coconut menace. She climbed back up so she didn't run the risk of falling off and laid down on her back, staring out at the forest. From what she could see of herself while climbing, the illusion on her had broken. She looked like herself again. "Enjoy the forest while you can. We're never coming back here." She called to her team. She received a few grumbles of agreement in response. None of them wanted to come back. She closed her eyes, taking a moment to relax. She refused to move until she felt Kiro nudging her and pressing a Pokeball into her hand. He had collected her missing Pokeballs during his time in the mansion. "Thank you, Kiro." She patted his head before returning the majority of her team. Whenever they got back to the city she would be able to greet the Bounsweet and Pawniard properly. For now they deserved a chance to rest.
Fifteen minutes passed before she finally decided to sit up. Kiro was resting next to her and Pantalaimon was laying against her chest. "Alright, boys. Let's put as much distance between this place an ourselves as possible." She briefly returned her Turtwig and set Kiro on her shoulders. What she planned on doing wasn't exactly safe. Pantalaimon would be safest in his Pokeball. "Ready?" She asked her Croagunk as she approached the edge of the roof. There was no way in hell she was going back into the Chateau so they were going to take the fast way back down to the ground floor. Kiro began croaking in protest but it fell on deaf ears. Elfana jumped off of the roof without a second thought. Somehow she managed to not break anything when she landed. None of the damage was bad enough for her to consider it serious. Scs and bruises were nothing. She released Pantalaimon again, wasting no time in picking him up and starting back towards the treeline.

Thadius 'Thade' Dakari(Picture coming soon. Will retro-edit it in when I finish it) Walking through the forest with his head on a swivel, the man scratched the stubble on his chin. The expression worn on his face told a lifetime of stories in and of itself and said about as much of his character as needed to be known. He was well built, though a bit on the thinner side given his unusual height, but wore clothes and armor in patches that suggested it had seen neither maintenance nor a washer in some time. There were a few eaten through holes in the thick sweater-like fabric of his shirt, and his pants were covered in several different types of stains. He knew them to be mud and oil, and although many had called him strange because of it - he found the smells of both to be pleasant. That was just who he was. The forest around him was unusually quiet for a place devoid of humans. Pokemon tended to pipe up in some form or fashion but on his trip through this particular area, he had found the sounds to decrease in increments until there was nothing but the wind and the sound of his own, well-placed footfalls. He didn't need to be stealthy, this wasn't the military, nor was it Rocket special forces. But a lifetime of habits caused his feet to almost automatically soften their steps against the forest floor while avoiding fallen branches or loose rocks when possible. The man stopped at the top of a small incline and scratched his chin again, keen blue eyes shifting about through the foliage for signs of recent travel. He paused when his eyes found nothing and then scratched his chin again, reddening slightly. He had forgotten why he was even here. The memory problems were far worse than they had ever been in the past. Not that he was so old that he should be having them in the first place, but - again, a lifetime of habits that included concussions could have... adverse effects. The man sighed and took a calming breath, trying to remind himself that he was here to do what he did better than anyone else. 'Tracking someone. Need to track the target.' That was somewhat accurate. He was here to locate someone but tracking didn't seem right. Tracking indicated a target. A target in his lines of work typically indicated a hostile. Were they hostile? He grunted, eyes turning to slits on instinct as he crouched where he was and took another look at the surrounding area. Was he tracking a hostile? If he was it was stupid to be in the open like he was. A soft fluttering sound above him caused the man's hands to react quickly, one to a Pokeball, the other to a very large knife he carried on the back of his belt. his gaze snapped upward to spot a Pidgey flapping down towards him. Almost immediately he relaxed when the tiny Pokemon landing on his shoulder took one look at him and began to rub his cheek with its own. "It's okay Thadius."[/font] the thing cooed to him, further relaxing the human. The Pokemon was aware of his forgetfulness. As his body untensed from the frenzy it had apparently been working itself into for longer than he might have suspected, his memory cleared and he smiled. It wasn't hostile and it wasn't a target. It was... It was a friend. "Did you find them, little one?" He asked softly, scratching the underside of the Pokemon's chin. In response, Little one chirped a bit more and nodded, turning its beak sharply to his left and beginning to let out very short but stiff notes in rapid succession. After the sixth note, it stopped and Thadius nodded in understanding. a sixth of a mile due northwest. Walking along with the Pidgey on his shoulder, Thadius was proud to discover that upon counting his steps in the direction the creature had indicated, it was quite accurate in its assessment of the distance. As he closed on the position he began to see a building there in the forest. One that had clearly, CLEARLY seen better days. He didn't need to be a genius to know that was the type of place that held pokemon with dark intent. He could almost smell the scents associated with ghost Pokemon. No sooner did the building come into full view than he spotted a woman and her partners outside, causing him to stop in his tracks. For the very briefest of moments when he saw her, his mind refused to identify what his eyes were seeing. Was she a stranger? The big man frowned, one of his hands subconsciously going to the belt pocket opposite the knife he had since stowed and retrieving a small notebook. The thing about knowing your memories weren't reliable anymore was that you could plan around that to minimize its ability to render you ineffective. And planning was what the 108th had done best back in his day. "Hoorah." He half-whispered, flipping open the notebook and then lifting his wrist to check the date. Once he was more aware of where to look, he quickly opened the correct page and stared at the photo placed there as a bookmark. He stared at it for some time before turning his gaze back to the woman outside the Chateau. It was the same person. The man then removed the photo and read the notes scribbled there before heaving a sigh of relief. He DID know this woman. Or at least he had. After replacing his notebook and giving the Pidgey one last scratch on the chin, Thadius slipped out of the treeline into a straight walk for the woman, his hands down by his sides in what he hoped indicated a non-threatening gesture. Just in case. He hoped she wasn't so distracted that he managed to sneak up on her, which made him smile a bit inwardly. He had always been the brunt of jokes in the service by those smaller than he. No one his size had any business being a tracker - no, he had been built to fight. But that was not his calling and so he had had to work twice as hard. The result was that he tended to sneak up on people even when he wasn't trying to do so. By the time he had closed enough of a gap to the woman to ensure she could hear him if he spoke, the man actually frowned. He hadn't actually stopped to think of what he should say. If she knew him she'd know he wasn't really all that good with words. Even still... The interaction required some level of effort the big man didn't always seem willing to put forward. With another deep breath, Thadius raised his Right arm and saluted her sharply, forcing a bit of a smile. "Good morning. You look...Well." He offered, Even though it was clear that the great doctor Elfana Aroway was anything but. [/div] Wearing - a mixture of tattered military armor and accessories and a Rocket admin top. pants held up with suspenders. Also carrying a small backpack with more than the legal limit of Pokeballs attached to the suspender belts.

Elfana Aroway Elfana hadn't noticed him until he had gotten close. She was too focused on trying to recall the path she had travel through the forest. Kayuki and Walter had been left behind in her rush to get to the other Pokemon. She needed to meet up with them before they headed back to Eterna City. Grabbing her glasses before she left probably would have been a good idea. Her glasses, her shoes, her phone...Leaving her things behind had been incredibly dumb. "I have no idea where we are." She muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked to her Croagunk. "Any suggestions?" Kiro croaked and shrugged helplessly in response. He was every bit as lost as she was. That was highly unfortunate. She brushed her bangs back and sighed, bracing herself for what was shaping up to be an obnoxiously long day. Even after they got out of the forest they still had a Gym to beat before the day could be anywhere near over. Her feet were going to hate her. She somehow managed not to jump when Thadius approached her despite how startled she was. Her nerves were more or less shot after her time in the Chateau. Trying to find her missing Pokemon had made sure of that.
After taking a slow, deep breath and letting it out she turned to face Thadius. At least was a not entirely unwelcome surprise. Things could have been much worse. "Looking like trash is in now. I'm keeping up with the trends." She commented as she set her Turtwig and Croagunk on the ground next to her. Elfana stood up straight, her hands folded behind her back. There was no hope of her managing to look professional right now but that wasn't going to stop her from trying. "It's good to see you, Thade. Was this visit planned?" Or as close to planned as he could manage. She shrugged, briefly glancing at the Pidgey with him before gesturing for him to follow her into the forest. "Come along. I'm one encounter with a Ghost short of calling Antarcticite here and leveling this place."
Kiro stared at the man and croaked his displeasure. He recognized Thadius but he didn't care for him. He didn't like any members of the Teams that came to Elfana for help. They were all shady and he was convinced that she would someday be hurt by one of them. He croaked again, making sure his distrust was known before following close behind Elfana. Pantalaimon's greeting was significantly less hostile. He ran right up to Thadius and bumped his head against his leg. "Hi big friend!" The Turtwig waved a little foot up at him before doing his best to catch up with his trainer. "Hurry! She has long legs so she walks real fast, you know!" Elfana didn't bother looking back to make sure Pantalaimon was keeping up. Kiro would help him along if she needed to. She was too busy trying to recall the last time she had encountered Thade. Actively tracking human encounters wasn't something she could normally be bothered with. They weren't as important as the Pokemon she took care of. Had it been his Aggron? Or had she run into him again after that? It would likely come to her when it was no longer important.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 29/25 Wild Encounter: 2/7 Item Posting: Fan Plug 28/30 OOC: {Spoiler}{Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Lowering the salute when she finally appeared to register his presence, the man's eyes softened a bit - seeing her up close for the first time. He knew that look. It was the look of a long, hard day in a place you didn't want to be in anymore. It tickled something in his brain that he had to consciously work to ignore. Thadius reached into one of his pockets to retrieve a relatively clean cloth but stopped, thinking better of it. Then he frowned. He couldn't remember why trying to show her some pity was a bad idea but he knew it all the same. The man tilted his head just slightly when she made what took him a moment to process as being a joke. Then he grunted in acknowledgment and nodded, fighting to remember to use his words a moment later. "It's...Catchy." He offered, gesturing to his torn up gear vaguely in what he hoped was a way to say he too was apparently following whatever metaphorical fad she was referring to. The man seemed to pause at that moment, his eyes growing just the slightest bit distant in thought. He had found her, but now he needed to remember why. On instinct he reached for his notebook again but stopped, glancing at her and then lowering his arm. He knew that she knew he was... Forgetful. He shouldn't be ashamed of it, but the big man didn't feel like it was appropriate to let on how bad it had become. 'It was better the last time I saw her. just a few little things.' Both relieved and unnerved to remember that random piece of information. When she motioned for him to follow, he nodded, adjusting the straps on his pack and falling into step behind her almost immediately. Almost. Before stepping off, the large human took a moment to peer down at the Turtwig and smirk, bending over at the waist with a little effort and patting its head once. Grass types were among his favorite. Then he poceeded to follow after the woman. A walk would give him time to think. When he pondered something long enough it typically would come back to him and with any luck, this would be one of those times.
As they walked, It did not escape the man's notice that Kiro wasn't exactly thrilled with his presence. That was fine. Lots of people hated what he was, and Pokemon weren't always thrilled once they understood what exactly team rocket did. This did not bother him though. He had accepted his past and moved on from it once his wife had passed on. 'That was always her dream, not yours. Bad man, good husband.' "Maybe." He grunted aloud in response to his conscience. Other than that he said a whole lot of nothing while they walked to wherever it was that the woman intended to go. Eventually, Thadius made it a point to force himself to pick up his pace and abandon his 'soft step' routine so that he could walk beside her. Less creepy for her that way, and being stealthy was pretty useless when you were traveling in a civilian pack anyway. Occasionally the man would steal a glance at her as if trying to glean something from it. He was just about to give up on whatever it was that was tickling his brain when it finally came to him and he stopped in his tracks, smiling just a touch and forcing himself not to snap his fingers in recognition. "You said Antarcticite? How is the big Steelix these days?" He asked, and not just for the sake of making conversation. He genuinely cared and found himself curious. Steel type Pokemon were amongst the strongest and he could now recall a fond memory that made him both happy and a little sad. His Aggron had secretly adored that Steelix. Possibly as a rival worth having - and for good reason. His Aggron was too unstable now though... Too dangerous. 'Like you?' He grunted again, pushing the other voice away and turning his attention to Elfana in the hopes that she didn't consider this behavior to be TOO strange of him. Then again, maybe this had been how he always was.
