Professor Aurea Juniper is the official Professor of the Unova region, and is stationed in Nuvema Town. She specializes in, and studies, the origins of Pokémon. She travels all over the world to study and learn about all type of Pokemon. It can be found in her notes that she has even been able to study Mew, as well as been graced with the appearance of Arecus himself. She is the only official female Professor, but she believes that it only makes her unique to her field, nothing more or nothing less. Her father, Professor Cedric Juniper, also works alongside Juniper in her lab and they both help each other on their research. When she isn't at her lab, she is often home with her Minccino and other Pokemon spending a quiet time at home. Though, whether she's at home or on a research trip, she's never too busy to help a trainer in need, or answer a pokedex call.

Today was the big day. This was it. The sun was shining bright, the weather was pleasant, he was ready. ..Or at least he hoped he was ready. As he stared at the lab's doors, Eric knew he was one step closer to starting his journey. The grass crunched beneath his feet with every small step he took, each one sounding him off that much closer to Nuvema Town's lab. If only he had his music player, and ear buds, on right about now. Music always calmed him down. But, he was trying to stay strong on his own, without any help. He slowly reached out, hand hesitating at the door's handle, as sweat ran down his brow.
"Come on Eric. You can do this.." He thought, trying to give himself a mini pep talk.
After a deep breath, he finally had the courage to enter the lab, even if just opening the door felt like an eternity to him. Eric had been preparing for this moment since he was 10 years old, and had been mulling over just his starter alone for about that long. Today was finally the day he'd step out into the world, and claim his own path throughout it. Unova, Kalos, Alola, Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Hoenn.. It was all at his fingertips, starting with his home. He'd traveled all the way from Castelia City to Nuvema Town to meet the professor, and choose his partner for the task ahead of him. Honestly, he wasn't even sure if he was ready.. But could anyone ever truly be ready for such a thing? To experience life to the fullest? No, at least he didn't think so. For 15 years he'd been a worry wart who was always too scared to try new things, or get out of his comfort zone. The young man hoped today would start the end of that trend, and be could reinvent himself. He wanted to lose weight, travel the world, meet every Pokemon he possibly could.. He would be willing to try everything at least once! ..That's what the nervous, sweating, boy kept telling himself anyway. That was his motto at the moment, it kept repeating in his head. "Just keep going, don't give up." - He had to keep telling himself that, otherwise he might have fainted right there in the lab's doorway. For all he knew, he might faint just from meeting the professor and receiving his starter regardless.
After a few more seconds of procrastination he stepped forward, glancing around, and looking for the aforementioned professor inside the lab itself. Professor Jumpier, specifically. He'd heard a lot about her over the years through hearsay, and watching interviews with her on television. But this would be his first time meeting her.
"Excuse me? Professor Juniper?" He shyly called out, his words shaking just as much as he probably was.
At least he had an idea of who he wanted to pick. His eyes were on either Oshawott, or Tepig. He was torn between the two. Being intimidated by the fire type's generally aggressive looking Pokemon, he thought maybe having one would ease his worries. But could he handle it? He wasn't sure. So maybe a cute litle Oshawott would be better for him? Who'd be easier to raise? Which would like him more? Would he be a good enough trainer to train either of them? What if Snivy would actually be better? His mind was going a hundred miles an hour with these questions alongside his pre-travel jitters. He really needed to take a deep breath and slow down. Hopefully the professor could help ease some of his woes, if he didn't bolt out the door and right back home before she met him, anyway. Eric was starting to think that maybe he SHOULD just head home, and prepare more...

The professor had quite a busy day planned in Nuvema Town at her esteemed laboratory. She had delegated some recent tasks to her researchers and needed to make sure that everything was running smoothly with them and their work, and in the mean time she would tend to her own work. Juniper had been working on narrowing down the different environments and eco systems in the Unova region to marginalize them and better understand how the Unova Region exists as a whole, and it was to her many researchers that she split up the different parts of the region to conduct their research. However, there was a second, always delightful part to her job that she got to partake in on a frequent basis, partnering with the Pokemon league to start brand new trainers on their journies. It seemed that this would be one of those days as she was notified by an assistant that someone had entered through the doors of the lab, and Juniper entered just in time for a quiet utterance of her name, looking to the new comer. "Why hello there, I am Professor Juniper," she greeted warmly, tucking a clip board under one arm in order to clasp her hands together gently in front of her. "How can I help you today," she inquired with a soft smile.

.Hearing the Professor, and seeing her come to greet him, Eric froze up nearly immediately. For a moment it didn't seem like he'd be able to say anything to her, and he just stood there. When he did try to speak, it at first came out as a series of incoherent babbles. At this rate he was never going to be able to get his journey started. Thankfully for him, and Juniper's busy schedule, he managed to pull himself together.
"I'm.. I'm here here to get my Pokemon trainer's license, and starter ma'am! That and..Um..I guess anything else you need me to give me.. !" He finally blurted out, before looking terribly embarrassed due to his outburst. Afterwards he shyly looked down to his hands, fiddling with them, in an attempt to hide how nervous he was.

Professor JuniperThe professor watched as the purple haired male seemed to gather his thoughts. She held her soft smile as she calmly waited for him to speak, though it wasn't much of a wait, and she was pleased to hear he was starting his journey. It warmed her heart to see trainers starting out on their journeys, especially those so well mannered as sweet as he seemed to be, albeit a little nervous. Though, she couldn't blame him, picking a starter could be quite stressful for a trainer to be. "Of course, I would be more then happy to help you." She spoke kindly as she set the clipboard she had tucked under her arm on a near by desk. "Right over here." She spoke, and began to lead him over towards a table with three Pokeballs on it. "Have you given much thought as to which starter you think would suit you best?" She asked, standing next to the table with the Pokeballs, ready to hand him a Pokeball. "If not, you may meet them if that would help you decide." She offered, wanting to help ease his nerves and make the selection easier for him if he needed it.[Hello! I hope you don't mind me stepping in! Paradisity asked me to get a post out for you, so you don't have to wait any longer then you had too.]

"W-well.. I.. I think so?" He started to say, looking over the Pokeballs before him.
"I've been..Well..Leaning towards Oshawott and Tepig." He then told her, nervously explaining his reasoning, and the many thoughts still racing through his mind.
Under the circumstances he figured it was natural for him to be so nervous, and asking so many questions. Though, now that he'd been thinking it over, he thought maybe Tepig would be the best choice after all. He wanted to challenge himself, and fire starters did tend to be the hardest. But, from what he'd seen, Tepig was generally a friendly little Pokemon. Surely it wouldn't be too hard for him to befriend. Eric thought maybe it was best to just..Go for it! He'd been overthinking everything so far, and that wasn't good for him, or his journey.
"But, um, I think... I think I'm going to choose Tepig. I've been thinking about it a lot, and.. I think Tepig would probably be the best choice for me. ..I just hope Tepig likes me."
[That's perfectly fine with me! No worries!]

At this point, Eric could only hope he'd make the right choice. He hoped he, and Tepig, would become the best of friends along their journey together.
"We-Well..Here's hoping Tepig and I will do alright..! I..I'm still a little nervous..B-but thank you!" He mumbled, taking the Pokeball, as well as the other items offered to him.
As nervous and on edge as he seemed, he was clearly just as excited. Since the professor had given him some items to get him started, he figured he should put them away for safe keeping in his backpack. Thinking ahead, just in case, he put a few of the Pokeballs in his pocket. Eric didn't want to miss out on a wild Pokemon to possibly catch, after all! He also stored away Tepig's Pokeball in his other pocket. Seeing as the little Pokemon was his new partner, he didn't want to lose track of it. Seeing as he was about to head out back into Nuvema Town, he decided he'd let out Tepig, and officially meet the little fire Pokemon then.
After having a look at his new Pokedex, and saying his goodbyes to Professor Juniper, he was on his way! Out the door he went, taking his first official steps on his journey to become a true Pokemon Trainer. For the first time today he found himself smiling. ..Even if his grin was goofy looking, and showed how nervous the poor boy still was through it. But that wasn't going to stop Eric as he headed on out of the lab, and out into town once more.

Yalda left her home in New Tork City three days ago. She finally arrived in Nuvema Town. After asking a few people where Professor Juniper's Lab was, she found it.
Not wanting to waste the Professor's time, she already decided on her very first Pokémon. She entered the Lab proper. In a very polite and respectful manner, she spoke to whoever was closest: "My name is Yalda Maedel. I'm on a Journey to be a Co-Ordinator. I respectfully request an Oshawott as my Starter. May I ask for assistance in this endeavor?"

"Yalda was it? Why, it's nice to meet you, thank you for coming to visit today," Juniper greeted warmly with a smile, always humbled and happy to see new trainers that are getting ready to embark on a life changing experience. "A coordinator? That sounds wonderful! I'm sure you understand that it takes just as much integrity as being a trainer does," Juniper complimented, knowing that becoming a coordinator required just as much finesse and work. The girl spoke then about which starter she had come for, and Juniper nodded along with her. It only took one moment for Juniper to gather her things, but she was smiling at knowing Yalda was going to be ready to begin. "An Oshawott is a great choice, and I have just the one for you, as well as some supplies to get you started," she smiled, holding out a tray for Yalda. "This should have you all set, I hope you and Oshawott have a wonderful journey together," Juniper commented. Grae had been told a few days prior to prepare for the start of their Pokemon journey. Grae didn’t quite understand at first why the grand sage of the monastery had requested that they set out on a Pokemon journey, but knew the request had a reason. As such, they spent that time preparing for the journey as well as contemplate what the reason behind this decision was. The night before, Grae came to the realization that it was meant as an opportunity for them to grow and found solace in this explanation, falling into blissful sleep after pondering this for most of the day. When the sun rose on the day they were planned to leave the monastery, Grae quickly got up and ready for the journey. They had previously shared this news with their closest Pokemon companions, a meditative and disciplined Mienfoo named Kazuno and a Zorua who disguised himself as a young boy to live at the monastery named Cei. The two Pokemon were quick to say they would go with Grae on their journey, helping in any way that they could. After getting ready, Grae went to fetch Kazuno and Cei from her usual garden and his room respectively. Grae was scheduled to be seen off by the grand sage precisely an hour after sunrise, a meeting to which Grae was not late. Upon reaching the gates of the monastery where the grand sage was waiting to see them off, they noticed he seemed to be holding something under one of his sleeves. “I see you are taking friends with you on your journey. That is fine. Please, take care of them.” The wise, older man said gently. Bowing in greeting, Grae responded, “Yes, we shall all keep each other safe. Also, I am quite thankful for your decision to send me on a Pokemon journey. I have come to realize that it is meant as an opportunity for me to grow and learn more.” “Yes, that was the intent and I am not surprised you came to that conclusion yourself. One of the monastery’s Swanna shall carry you to Nuvema Town where you can obtain a companion starter Pokemon of your choice. I shall leave you with two gifts,” the great sage said before reaching out his arms revealing two Pokeballs and a Pokemon egg wrapped in a carrier. “Thank you for these gifts, but I must ask why there are two Pokeballs? I know trainers typically carry their Pokemon in them, but I am only leaving with one Pokemon, Kazuno. The man chuckled at Grae’s words, “Is it not possible that I know you are indeed traveling with two Pokemon? Cei’s disguise is not infallible. I am aware of his true identity. That being said, I have not shared with this information with the other monks nor do I think they suspect anything. I know there must be a reason Cei chooses to keep his true identity a secret to most. As such, I shall respect that and continue to keep this information to myself. Although, I had hoped we taught you better than to lie to your master.” Grae momentarily lost their composure and showed worry before the man simply smiled at their reaction. “Do not worry, young one, I know your heart was in the right place. Now, I suppose I have taken enough of your time. Take these and begin your journey through Unova. I would hope you will visit us when it is convenient for you in the future.” “Thank you, again, Master Zero! I cannot begin to explain how thankful I am for all that you have done for me…” Grae broke formalities for a moment and hugged Master Zero before taking the items from his hands. The man smiled and then watched as Grae was carried away by the Swanna to a new adventure. Being on the other side of Unova, the ride was long. Grae used that time to introspect as they gazed out on the landscape. To ease the burden for Swanna, Grae did request that Cei and Kazuno go into the Pokeballs for the time being. Once they arrived at Nuvema Town, Grae immediately released her two companions from their Pokeballs. “Wow, this place is very different from anywhere I have been!” Cei said upon being released and gazing around. “Yes, this place is far from the monastery. As a small town, it is quite different from the monastery and Opelucid City. We will have time to explore the town in a little bit. First, we need to meet our new companion at Professor Juniper’s lab. It is that large building nearby, we should go in.” Grae said to Cei and Kazuno. The three of them walked into the lab, leaving the Swanna to fly back to the monastery. Professor Juniper greeted them from somewhere deeper in her lab before walking to the front to formally greet them. “My name is Grae Taiji. I am here to request a starter Pokemon so that I may begin my journey and challenge the Unova League.” “Ah, yes, I can certainly assist with that even though it seems you already have a couple of Pokemon companions,” the professor replied and noted. “I am just teasing. Follow me this way. Do you know which starter you would like?” “Yes, I believe I would like the water-type Oshawott,” Grae kindly requested.

buggygardenerThe young professor was more than happy to be assisting a new trainer-to-be. She made her way over towards the table with the Pokeballs on it. Looking at the trainer, she couldn't help but notice the androgynous nature of the young teen. She had a hard time deciphering how to address the trainer, with their features and short hair. However, what was more intriguing to her was the gray style of clothing they were wearing. She hadn't seen this style of fashion before, and found it fairly interesting to her. She had already mentioned their other Pokémon with also was fairly intriguing, she believed this trainer to be was going to be very interesting to see what they did. "Alright, here we are." She commented once she was at the table, and set the Oshawatt Pokeball on a tray with a few other items. lifting the tray, she turned back to the young teen. "Here is your starter, as well as a few items to get you started with on your journey." The young woman explained, holding out the tray for them to collect the items. "Is there anything else I can help out to get started?" She asked the young teen. She always loved seeing those starting out on their journeys getting far, so she was more than happy to assist them in any way she could.Grae Taiji has received:x1 Pokedex Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Oshawott Lv. 5 HP- 40 Gender: Ability: Tackle- 20 Tail Whip- Lowers target's defense by one stage Exp 0/15

Dana Griswold She was here! It was so exciting! The Professor, she was told, was prepared for new trainers almost any day of the week. Of course, that made sense. One can't be expected to be available all day every day of the year! She bounded up the steps to the front door of Juniper's Lab, her loose clothing concealing her figure. She was happy with the way she looked but that didn't mean she wanted to broadcast herself to potential threats. She found the Professor in question and approached the woman with a charming smile. "Hello? Professor Juniper? My name is Dana." The woman greeted politely, looking around and peering at the lab without looking too much like a snoop. Dana couldn't help herself. She was excited to claim her first Pokemon! She still felt as though she should have been allowed to get one from home...but it was too late for that now! Dana had made her trek from Floccesy Town all the way to Nuvema Town. She wasn't leaving here without her... "Tepig, if you please!" When Dana was addressed about her choice, she knew already which one she wanted. The fiery little pig was going to be Dana's first choice!White Prince Of WonderlandPack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex Plot Hooks: X Pokemon Encounter: 1/-- Trainer Battle: 1/25 Trainer Encounter Charged! rookerProfessor Juniper had a pretty calm day ahead of her. She didn't have any big research plans for her day, so she was mostly tending to the lab assistance that was currently there. She was walking through the lab, her focus on a book she was reading. It really held her attention as she made her way, chewing on a pen cap as she did, absentmindedly. The voice of the young woman saved her from narrowly walking into a chair seeing as she wasn't exactly watching where she was going. She looked up to the woman in front of her with a kind smile. She introduced herself as Dana, which the Professor returned with a friendly smile of her own. "Well, hello Dana." She replied closing her book and tucking it under her arm. She wanted to give the young woman her full attention, especially if she was in need of getting started, or had any questions, or maybe she wanted to apply for the lab. All of these possibilities ran through her head but Dana quickly jumped right in, asking for a Tepig with a beaming expression. Juniper smiled again as she nodded and began to move towards a near by table. "Of course, I'm happy to see you're so sure of your decision." she replied, setting her book on the table and plucking one of the Pokeballs off of the table and held it out to Dana. With he free hand she opened a drawer and pulled out a few items, setting them on the table. "Here is your Tepig, as well as a few items you might need to get started." She offered with a smile, moving a side so Dana can collect her items if she would like. "Id there anything else I can assist you on?" She asked, offering her help if Dana had any questions or anything she was unsure about.Dana Griswold has received:x1 Pokedex Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Tepig Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Tail Whip- Lowers target's defense by one stage

Dana Griswold There was a soft gasp of wonder at the Pokeball offered to her. She set the ball aside on the desk and carefully put away the items Juniper handed her, tucking her Pokedex into a pocket on the side that she could get into easily. Tepig's Pokeball was gingerly lifted from the desk once this little ritual was completed, the female cradling it as if it were an egg that could break at the slightest misstep. She touched the button, swelling the ball up in her palm, then touched it again. Tepig sprang free and clicked her little hooves on the desk when she was released. "Tepig. Hello. My name is Dana. What's yours?" She spoke softly and slowly, keeping her voice loud enough to be clear but careful not to let the little pig Pokemon feel like she was shouting. Tepig, of course, responded with the cry that was her species name. Dana nodded along as if she understood what was being said. "Oh? Really? Mmhm...I see!" Her eyes grew wide as if she had just been told something amazing. "That's great! I'm so excited to have a new partner to work with!" She declared with a broad smile before she scooped Tepig off of the desk and cradled it close to her chest. "Tonya it is!" She added suddenly, as though she had forgotten she asked for a name until that moment. She held Tepig--Tonya--in one arm, putting the ball away in her bag as well before she shouldered that onto her arms and bowed her head to the Professor. "Thank you again. So much! I should get going now!" She called out, waving to Juniper with her free hand happily. She was all ready to get a move on, but she wasn't going to run off without letting Juniper dismiss her first.White Prince Of WonderlandPack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex Plot Hooks: X Pokemon Encounter: 2/-- Trainer Battle: 2/25 Item Posting: Berry Pot 1/25 Badges: Pokemon: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Party Here} Tonya Tepig Female 1'10" 24.2 lbs Lv. 5 EXP 1/15 HP- 40 Ability: Thick Fat - Fire Type and Ice Type moves deal 1/2 damage Tackle- 20 (Tough, 4) Tail Whip- Lowers target's defense by one stage (Cute, 2 +2 if user performs last)---Companion Pokemon--- Name Pokemon Gender X'Y" Z lbs Level 0 EXP: 0/15 HP- 50/50 Ability: X Moves

rookerProfessor Juniper watched the young woman gently collect the items, but once the Tepig was released, the professor could tell they would be good for each other. She smiled as the two were already bonding so well, as if Dana could actually understand the Pokemon, Tonya. It was very sweet and touching to watch. Those like Dana made her happy to be doing what she did. The both appeared to be genuinely happen, and Juniper hoped she would make it far at what ever she aspired for. The young woman collected her things and readied her bag before thanking her and getting ready to leave. "You're more then welcome!" She replied with a smile. "I'm so happy you get along so well, good luck on your adventures together!" She replied to give her a proper send off. "If you ever need anything, you're more then welcome to call my office." she offered her with a final wave to the girl as she would begin off on her journey.

She called back, giving a wave while Tonya cried out a farewell of her own. Then, trainer and Tepig made their way into Nuvema Town and off to their first adventure together. Today was the day, one Quinn had only dreamt of but never thought would come true. She was finally going to be allowed to leave her parent’s watchful eyes. Along with that, she’d be allowed to continue her scientific pursuits under the guidance of a Pokemon Professor of her choice. She had spent the past week preparing, making sure she had everything she would need for her travels performing research for the professor along with finishing up any of her own personal research tasks in her hometown of Black City. Her parents made the announcement that Quinn would be allowed to pursue studies with a professor a week earlier, on her 20th birthday, much to the surprise of her and her sister Kiria. The two essentially had much of their lives and schedules controlled by their parents, two of the richest people in the Unova region. They were always expected to be the best at what they do and to stomp the competition. Although they were expected to even outcompete each other, Quinn and Kiria were actually rather close friends. In fact, they weren’t even allowed to have other companions besides a few Pokemon and each other Quinn was skeptical at first and thought this was some sort of ruse. But, it seemed that her parents were serious about the prospect. They had even requested that Quinn take their personal jet to her intended destination, but she refused, not wanting to wait any longer to taste freedom. As such, she decided that she would ride a train to Nuvema Town to meet Professor Juniper. The two had met before, but only briefly. That being said, Quinn was quite familiar with Professor Juniper's work, as she looked up to her as a leading female scientist Quinn herself hoped to be one day.

Accompanying her on her way to the train station were her three Pokemon companions she had known for some time now. The three were a Tynamo, Clefairy, and Croagunk, the last of which was a shiny variant. Quinn has known the Tynamo, whom she had named Electrophorus or Phorus for short, the longest of the three. Quinn met this small Pokemon about 3 years earlier while doing some studies on the odd electromagnetic properties of Charge Stone Cave. On that expedition, Electrophorus was curious of Quinn and the team of other researchers that had gone too. While the other researchers wished to take it back to the lab to study it, Quinn argued against this idea, saying it would be better to make observations of the Pokemon in its natural habitat. After a rather convincing argument, the Pokemon was left to be until the team left the cave. When they were leaving, the Tynamo had decided to follow the group, Quinn specifically, and wanted to go with her. She was unsure if her parents would allow it, but she went ahead and brought the Pokemon back with her, using the excuse of needing to complete more observations on the Pokemon as the reason for having it with her. Quinn met the Clefairy, Stella, about a year and a half ago. Their meeting almost drove Quinn insane as she could not comprehend how the Pokemon managed to survive falling down to the Earth from space, although she did find out it presumably came from the moon. She had spent the next couple of months running tests and studying the Pokemon after meeting her after finding the site of what Quinn thought was a falling star at first. About ready to give up and question if science was truly the answer, Quinn met Cyan, the shiny Croagunk who is now her companion. The frog Pokemon appeared near the site of Stella’s crash when Quinn returned to it hoping for a breakthrough and a breakthrough is what she got. As she saw the Croagunk, her scientific knowledge of the Pokemon and its abnormal color palette played through her head. It wasn’t until the Pokemon seemed to request her help and she ran tests on it in the lab that she discovered that somehow, radiation from Clefairy’s crash caused the Pokemon’s color to change, not a natural change in its genetics. Interestingly enough, the radiation caused a very similar change in its genetics as a natural mutation would have. Although Quinn never found out exactly how Stella managed to survive crashing from the moon, her discovery of Cyan and its abnormal color change did reaffirm her beliefs in science and won her more recognition in the community than she already had.

When Quinn made it to the train station, she pulled out her ticket and flashed it in front of the scanner to let her cross onto the platform. Just as she crossed, though, she heard someone yelling her name from a distance. When she turned around, she saw her sister Kiria running as fast as she could towards her. “Kiria? What are you doing here? We already said goodbye at the house,” Quinn said once her sister got to where she was. “I am so glad I made it in time!” Kiria began, a bit out of breath, “I was so caught up in saying goodbye that I completely forgot your gift!” Kiria reached into her pocket and pulled out something. “Please, Kiria, you know I don’t like gifts… Not after…” Quinn began, reaching for her necklace. “I am sure you’ll love this gift. I promise,” Kiria said winking, placing a Pokeball into Quinn’s other hand. “Now, it is time for you to go! You don’t want to miss your train and start your journey! You’ll have to tell me all about the research you do!” Quinn looked down at the Pokeball in her hand and gave a slight smile, “Thank you, Kiria. I will certainly keep you updated on my research. I shall see you later. Hopefully, mom and dad don’t treat you too much worse than they already do.” “Don’t worry about me! This is your big day! I can handle them. I already have for so long. Now, get going, Quinny!” Quinn hugged her sister for a moment before turning around and heading to the platform and boarding her train. She had a personal cabin but didn’t bring much on her journey, knowing much of her work would probably be fieldwork. As such, she packed just the essentials for fieldwork in a bag her sister designed specifically for her. Once inside her cabin, she released her Pokemon from their Pokeballs, announcing that they had a new member on their team, then releasing the Pokemon held within the Pokeball Kiria gave her. It turned out to be a Litleo. “Of course she’d give me a Pokemon with such flair,” Quinn thought to herself while smirking. All her Pokemon milled about the cabin throughout the relatively short train ride. She had decided to call the Litleo by the name Leona, something regal and fitting of a future Pyroar. When they made it to Nuvema Town, she returned all of her Pokemon except for Cyan, knowing he would argue against such an action. He often liked to stay out and be Quinn’s bodyguard despite Quinn’s tall stature and training in a couple of different kinds of martial arts. She has stopped trying to explain to him why she doesn’t need to be protected. Quinn and Cyan went straight to Professor Juniper’s lab from the train station and walked in. Upon seeing Professor Juniper walk by, Quinn introduced herself and Cyan, “Good afternoon, Professor Juniper. As you may know, my name is Quinn Liberati and this is my Croagunk, Cyan. I am here to follow up on my request to research under your tutelage. I previously sent you examples of my previous works and hope you will accept me as your mentee.”

buggygardenerProfessor Juniper was having a fairly normal day. She had a few tests she had been planning to run with a Pokemon which she found exciting. She had spent her time getting her papers and books together, as she made her way through the main of the lab. A tall young woman caught her eye, which stopped her in her tracks. She shuffled her papers and tucked them under her arm. "Hello," She welcomed, offering the young woman a friendly smile. She introduced herself which made her remember who she was instantly. "Of course, I'm pleased to meet you, Ms. Liberati. You too, Cyan." She spoke, making sure to exchange pleasantries. She felt fairly honored that Quinn would want to follow in her foot steps and become a researcher, and choose her to study under. It made her proud to be a Professor. "I did read through your examples, and I have to say, they definitely held my attention." She complimented with a nod to the young woman. "I would be happy to accept you into my program." She told the young woman, she really had enjoyed reading the examples that she had been given so she believed Quinn would be a very good fit for her. "I understand you have Cyan here to help you, but much like trainers and coordinators, you get a starter as well to assist you. Have you given much thought to which starter you would like?" She explained, as she began to move towards the table with the three Pokeballs sitting upon them.

Professor Juniper greeted Quinn with a smile. Quinn had to remind herself to maintain her composure despite being quite excited to meet one of her idols. A look of surprise and relief did escape onto her face when Professor Juniper said she would be glad to have Quinn work under her. The Professor also mentioned that Quinn would get to choose a starter Pokemon too. However, Quinn was ready for this when the choice was brought up. “I am very grateful that you would have me study under you, Professor Juniper. Also, please, you may call me Quinn. As for my starter Pokemon, I would love none other than to take a Snivy, if you don’t mind.” Quinn felt a little bad that Professor Juniper felt the need to call her ‘Ms. Liberati’ as that is what her butlers and maids called her. She contemplated apologizing to the Professor for that but decided it would be redundant as she already told her that ‘Quinn’ was sufficient in addressing her. Instead, she tried to make herself seem more friendly and less stiff to the professor by loosening her posture and smiling slightly at her. It probably didn’t help that she towered over the Professor, but the last thing Quinn wanted was to intimidate Professor Juniper, whom she held in high regard.

buggygardenerEager to see off a new study for her program, Juniper was pleased to hear the answer Quinn offered in regards to her starter Pokemon. Snivy was a wonderful species, and was sure to aide greatly in beginning to travel around the region. "Of course, that sounds like a great addition to the beginning of your studies," Juniper smiled as she started to move around to the couple of desks that were in reach, making sure that she had all of Quinn's new affects in order. "Your Snivy is in this Pokeball here, and we have some supplies prepared just to give you a leg up on things. I'm confident that you are already well prepared to set off, but please, accept these to take along with you," Juniper offered with a tray of extra pokeballs and healing implements. It was no question that a budding researcher had a good amount of supplies already to get started, but there was no harm in taking some more preliminary supplies, just in case.

Professor Juniper smiled at Quinn and commented how Snivy would be a great addition to her team. The professor also handed Quinn some standard-issue supplies for new trainers of any pursuit. Quinn released her new Snivy from her Pokeball to greet her. The Pokemon gave a polite bow to Quinn in response to the greeting. Quinn’s X-transceiver began to buzz suddenly, so she excused herself to Professor Juniper to answer the call. It was Kiria calling to check up on her, “Yes, Kiria, I am doing fine. I just got my Pokemon. I chose Snivy,” “Of course you chose Snivy! That is good to hear though! Where are you now?” “I am still with the professor, so I have to go. Apologies.” “Say no more! I should be the one saying sorry. Goodbye!” The X-transceiver hung up and Quinn moved to put it away. However, before she could put it away, Snivy smacked the device out of her hand, startling her and Professor Juniper. A moment later, though, the reason was made apparent. Upon hitting the floor, a Porygon jumped out of the device, seemingly jolted out by the force on the device. “Hmmm, I suppose I should have expected something like this from my parents…” Quinn said, frowning at the Porygon. The Pokemon seemed to be in a panic at being discovered and was looking for the X-transceiver, which Quinn had already retrieved from the ground. Quinn then crouched to the ground and looked at the panicked Porygon. Rather than trying to be rid of it, she instead placed her hand on its head. The Porygon winced and was shivering out of fear. “I see you too were being used as a tool by my parents… Unfortunate circumstances. However, if you want to be a part of my team instead and stop helping my parents, I am sure we could find a better use of your skills.” Upon hearing this, the Porygon stopped shivering and looked up at Quinn before looking down in thought. After a brief moment, it looked back up at her and nodded emphatically, becoming excited by the proposal. “Good, then that is settled,” Quinn began before getting back up and facing Professor Juniper, “My apologies, Professor Juniper, but seeing as my parents are still trying to watch me even on this journey of mine, I must request that I be allowed to perform my research in a different region. I had a suspicion something like this would happen, so I had already established a backup plan. I would be more than happy to submit my research reports virtually or even in person as needed. I hope you understand the circumstances I am under…”

Professor Juniper was a bit surprised at Quinn’s sudden request and considered it for a moment. She had dealt with many life situations of the trainers she has helped over the years, so she understood why even someone like Quinn would need to leave the region, especially with such strong evidence right in front of her in the form of the Porygon. “Oh, why of course, Ms. Libera- I mean Quinn. Technically, the research tasks could be done in any region and may even require interregional travel to complete! I can send the first task straight to your X-transceiver in a moment. I don’t want to keep you here too much longer, so feel free to head out when you can. Do keep me updated on your travels and research, though!” Professor Juniper replied with understanding. “Thank you, Professor Juniper. I shall be on my way then,” Quinn said before she returned her Pokemon to their Pokeballs and left the lab.
