 Professor Samuel Oak is a Pokémon Professor who lives and works at his research lab in Pallet Town of the Kanto region. Like most Professors, Oak studies a specific type of relationship, He concentrates on Pokémon and human relationships as a profession. Professor Oak works in his Laboratory in Pallet Town with his aides. He spends his time helping trainers, and starting them off with starters, in his meantime when he isn't running tests. He is an idol to many Trainers and researchers, including the Professors from other regions. Oak had an early start in being a trainer, and was a very young age. He was able to achieve all eight badges in Kanto, and trained along side Agatha. But in the end, instead of going onto beat the Elite Four, he decided to retire into his studies. He's traveled the world, and aided in some of the world's greats discoveries, which is what his is most famous for. He continues his work, while handing out Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle to those who are just starting out, as well as the Pokedex he help design.

A teenage boy could be seen rushing down the dirt path of the famous Pallet town as if his own life depended on it. It was only that morning when Rakutsu left Viridan city to come get his own pokemon. It was just every kid's dream to be a trainer. So it was only natural it was his.
Rakutsu turned the corner and rushed up the stairs to Oak's lab and would crash open the door. He stopped in the center of the room so that he would be able to catch his breath.
"Oak....hi...I'm..I'm...here for...a pokemon." Rakutsu said in between breaths.

In the ever busy laboratory that rested in Pallet Town, the usual hustle and bustle rang through the hallways of the facility as another day swept over the studies of pokemon. Amongst those who worked feverishly in it's walls was a one Professor Oak.
It was with a smile that Oak looked up from a clip board of data and information at the mere mention of someone having rushed into the laboratory from one of his assistants. Setting his things down, Oak didn't waste any time in moving forward, coming to greet the young man.
"Good day," Oak greeted with a bright smile, moving forward with an extended hand.
"A Pokemon you say? Why, have you decided on which it is you would like to chose," Oak questioned.

Rakutsu saw the professor's hand in front of him, but was unable to shake it. He was still trying to catch his breath from the intense amount of running, he just finished doing from all the way from Viridan. About half if the running was from wild Beedrills in the forest. But he wasn't going to tell.
"Professor! Hi! Rakutsu yelled out as he shook the professor's hand very fast before breathing at a normal rate and letting the older man go.
"Ok...I'm good...I want Charmander...please."

"A Charmander you say? Good choice," Oak smiled as he came back to the new arrival after moving to a table with a small tray on it. He picked it up and moved back to him, holding out the tray with a small array of items on it.
"Here is your new Pokedex, and these are some extra pokeballs and potions to start on your way. And inside that pokeball is your new Charmander," Oak relayed pointing to the allotted pokeball.Rakutsu has received: Lv 5 HP-40 Gender: Ability: Scratch-30 Growl-Lowers target's attack by one stage Exp 0/15

Rakutsu gave a quick smile while taking the pokedex and items along with the pokeball that had his new partner in crime resting in it.
"Thank you Professor I'll see you around when you hear about me winning the league!"
With that the teen ran out of the lab and would start to walk after getting to pallet.

Kane strolled leisurely down the sunlight path that ran through the center of Pallet Town. The small town certainly had a much different air than their native Lavender Town, and the change was refreshing.
Soon, their destination came into view, and Kane's heart skipped a beat in excitement. Professor Oak's lab stood before them, and inside, Kane would finally be able to meet their very own starter Pokemon. They hadn't yet decided which of the trio they wanted to choose, because frankly, they were all wonderful Pokemon in their own rights.
Kane opened the door and stepped through into the lab, and was immediately greeted by a blast of cool air. They grinned, and had to force themselves to remain calm and not charge at Professor Oak, who stood not far away.
"Hello, Professor!" Kane cried elatedly. "My name is Kane, and I'd like to get a Pokemon from you today! I dunno which one I'd like though. Any suggestions?" |

 Professor OakThe gray professor has gotten back to his studies and paperwork after his previously young trainer began off on his journey. It was a rather nice day outside, just nice enough to leave one of his windows open to let in a nice warm breeze, as well as listen to the pidgeys and other birds chirping. He had a steady flow of work without it having to be busy with his assists, he enjoyed days like this, they were calming. Oak stood back up form his desk and began out into the main of his lab, and looked out one of the far windows to the pastures and the roaming Pokemon they had. It wasn't much longer that a teenager dressed in mostly black pulled the doors of the lab open and began in. The teen had quite a few piercings, which Oak found quite interesting. The teen began over and greeted him kindly, and he offered a smile in return. "Why, Hello!" he responded, and the teen gave an introduction, and explained that the youngster was there to pick up a starter, but was unsure as to which. Professor Oak began to walk over to the table, and gestured the youngster to follow. "It certainly is nice to meet you, Kane" he began as he approached the table with three pokeballs sitting on it, the three Pokemon's species labeled just in front of the balls. "Now this is a very big decision, picking a partner for your journey." he continued before taking a small pause to look at the Pokemon. "Do you have any type preference, to help with your decision, or would you even prefer to meet the Pokemon before choosing one?" he told the teen, trying to help make the decision easier. He knew it was a very tough choice, and he couldn't make it for Kane, but maybe he could help. |

The sun had risen long ago, bird Pokemon chirped a merry song and it was a bright, beautiful day. Kira was full of wonder and anticipation; she was about to begin her Pokemon journey after all. It was nine in the morning, and while Kira usually slept in and had to have her mother wake her up for anything important, today was different. She had been awake for a few hours already. Not only had she been awake, but she'd been dressed and ready to set out hours in advance. She was on the shorter side for someone her age, but she had the personality to make up for it. Smoothing out a green dress that matched her eyes, she would rise to her feet and go to the bedroom door. She knew it was time for the day to begin because of the poke-ball shaped clock on her bedside table. Slipping on her shoes, Kayla would start out towards the Pokemon Professor's Lab.
When she finally got to Pallet Town, a dozen or so people moved about, some followed by Pokemon, some waiting impatiently to receive their first. She didn't recognize anyone, even in this small of a town, where everyone knew each other. This was because she wasn't originally from this Region. Her Parents had moved her from Sinnoh to Pewter City only a week earlier, and to make the move easier for her to accept had given her a rare Pokemon to take with her on her journey. Kira was the type of girl that everybody got along well with, even if she was very stubborn and head-strong at times. Weaving her way to the front door, She knocked before entering the Lab.
She had familiarized herself with the different Starter Pokemon offered in this region over the past week, and she was almost sure which one she wanted to select. She walked in first, holding the door open for her new friend Riolu, who held a Soothe Bell and followed her up to one of the Aids. "Hello, I'm here to see Professor Oak." She spoke with a hint of intelligence and a polite attitude. "I get to choose my very first Starter Pokemon today." She could barely hide her excitement and nervous energy. She knew that this decision could influence every decision, every encounter, and everything that happened from this point forward.

Professor OakSince Professor Oak was with Kane, he hadn't heard the knock on the lab door, though one of his lab assistants were able to hear it. she turned around just in time to see the young girl dressed in a green dress walk up, and speak about Professor Oak. The assistant gave the young girl a smile. "Today is a very special for you then." she told the new trainer-to-be, and nodded towards Oak before moving. "He's already with a trainer, but it definitely wouldn't mind helping you out as well." the young woman told her, and began to turn and walk towards Professor Oak. Once she was close enough, she informed Oak, and he nodded. The Professor turned back to Kane. "This is a big decision, so I'll let you think about it. Please don't feel rushed, take all the time you need." he told her in his natural kind, and calm, tone. He turned to the young girl, who contrasted Kane. While Kane wore darker clothes, the new trainer-to-be was wearing a bright green dress, with just as vibrant hair. Though their appearances contrasted, he could sense that both had wonderful potential. "Hello, So my assistant informed me that you are here for your starter? Have you given any thought as to which you would like?" he asked her with a nice smile, gesturing to the three Pokeballs sitting on the table beside him. |

Kira hadn't expected the Professor to be busy, but she realized that she should have. A man as important as Oak must surely be busy all of the time. She stammered something about how she could wait until he was finished with the other Trainer, but the Aid had convinced her that it was alright; that he could see her now. She saw the Professor for the first time as he was speaking to the other Trainer. She would use this time to finish her difficult decision. "Who do you think I should pick?" She turned to Riolu, smiling at her friend. "Charmander or Squirtle?"
Riolu hesitated, taking a moment to think about the options. Riolu was more worried about making sure Kira was happy with her decision. "You like fire-type Pokemon, perhaps Charmander?" Kira heard the feminine voice of the black-and-blue Pokemon in her mind. She nodded and they both turned back to the three Pokeballs resting on the table. She held her arms behind her back, hands held together as she waited for the Professor to finish his conversation so she could answer his question.
Finally, she looked up into the kind features of Professor Oak as he waited for her choice. "Alright, I think we are ready... We have decided to choose Charmander, please." She answered with a big smile, knowing that it could be a challenge to train a Charizard, but that the rewards could be impressive. Charizard could turn out to be a very powerful Pokemon, even able to stand toe-to-toe with it's Water-counterpart. Her new friend sat only feet away, and she hoped that this Charmander would be happy with it's new Trainer. -Backpack-

Professor OakThe Professor could hear the young trainer to be talking, but not to him. He heard another voice, though one that even he couldn't understand. He hadn't noticed the Pokemon beside her, not a common Pokemon that he had seen with young trainers. But that only ensured that she would take care of what ever starter she chose. The young girl announced that she was ready to choose, and that she wanted the Charmander. "Splendid choice!" he exclaimed, turning towards the table. Oak began to gather a few items onto a tray for the young girl, a few things to help her get started with. He wasn't worried for Kane, he knew that if she wanted a Charmander, they would have another for her cared and loved just as this one was. Oak turned back to the young girl, and held out the tray. It was the moment of truth. It was a long trip from Unova, but it was worth it. All of the stories about the glitch has started from Kanto, as well as the crazy weather patterned in the past few months, he figured he could start there. If that wasn't enough, he wanted to get a specific starter. The ship ride was tough to get through, especially for someone as energetic as Apollo, but for Teddy, it was a nice long nap. The little fluffy bear was still asleep, sticking half way out of Apollo's pack, and draping over his trainer's shoulder. Apollo thought it was terribly cute, the bear's little paw hanging limp over his shoulder as he lightly snored. The tall brunette casually walked through the small town of Pallet, holding onto the straps of his pack as he went. Apollo couldn't imagine living in a small town like this. It was a beautiful day, and everyone was very friendly, which was nice, but really... He was already bored of seeing small buildings, and grass. He let out a sigh as he continued to walk down the side walk. At least he was having a comfortable day, rocking his bed head, and wearing a faded blue sweater and jeans. Normally Apollo put a lot of effort into his appearance, but with his long trip mixing with the fact that he didn't feel like he needed to impress anyone in a small town. He luckily was able to spot the Labs, which was a sight for sore eyes, which made him start walking faster. Apollo reached up and tugged on Teddy's paw lightly. "Teddy, We're almost there, wake up." he spoke softly to wake his living teddy bear. Which he got a small "Ursa....?" in response as the bear lifted his head, and began to clumsily rub his eyes. Apollo pushed the doors open to the lab and looked around, easily spotting the Professor. Apollo walked over tot he older man, seeing that he was with some dark looking guy, Apollo assumed from behind. Apollo didn't really get star struck anymore, after touring with his old band, he didn't mind being in the same place as famous people, but Professor Oak seemed different from some singer or actor, He just had a legendary feel to him. But, he still gave off an air of friendliness, it was humbling and calming to Apollo. "Hey Professor! I'm a little late, but I'm here to pick up my starter." he spoke, beaming his pearly whites at the man. He moved over to the Pokeballs, and pointed to one of them. It had been a rather busy morning at the laboratory in the small Kanto town where many a young aspiring trainer had visited to request their starter Pokemon already. It did the old Professor proud to see so many young fresh faces ready to take on such an important life decision as making headway on a Pokemon journey, and those even slightly older than average were no exception, one such visitor coming to approach Oak with a small Teddiursa hanging lazily behind his back. Oak smiled warmly at the greeting he was given, turning to face the young man who had come to him.
"Good day," he beamed, though only watched the young man walk past him and make a straight shot for the table where the choices for those new trainers remained. He was quick to decide, but that only meant he was prepared with a pre meditated decision, and who was he to deny him such a choice?
"A good choice," smiled before moving over to another table to retrieve a small set of items.
"Take that pokeball then, it's yours, and here's some extra to get you started as well as some potions. And this is your registered Pokedex," Oak relayed, holding out the allotted items.Apollo has received: Squirtle Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Tail Whip- Lowers target's defense by one stage

The professor greeted him after his own entrance. Normally Apollo would lounge around and talk with Professor a bit longer, possibly question him about anything strange going on, but considering that the other trainer was here still he decided not to bother him any more then he needed to. Oak responded and quickly, and simply told him that the Pokemon was his. Apollo smiled, and reached forward to pick up the Ball, as the professor spoke about his other items. Apollo stuck the new Pokeball in the pocket of his hoody, and began to take the items from the Professor. He held back the few pokeballs and Potions, and Teddy promptly took them and moved around so he could slip them past him and into the Pack. Once he was done, Teddy shifted and let out a sigh and leered at Apollo for disrupting his comfy seat in his pack. Apollo didn't see it, or he just ignored it as he turned back to the gray professor. Violetta races excitedly down the dirt path towards the Professor's lab where she's been told she can get a pokemon for free. Not that she wasn't a good trainer, she definitely was, however she'd been so focused on her travels that she hasn't really had time to battle or catch pokemon. However that changes today. She's come all the way from Littleroot town and since she's been through all of the regions for pleasure, now that she's back in the first region she visited she's ready to take the whole trainer thing seriously.
Violetta stops outside the lab to catch her breath and grins as her first pokemon, Riolu, pops out of his pokeball of his own accord and climbs up onto her shoulder. Violetta smiles at him and rubs his head between the ears. "Morning Rune. Did you sleep well?"
Morning Vi, where are we? The Riolu's voice is childish but distinctly male, using his psychic abilities to communicate exclusively with her. Rune has been with her since the very beginning and is the actually one of the driving forces behind her becoming a full-fledged trainer.
"We're in Pallet Town at the resident Professor's lab. He's apparently giving out pokemon to any beginning trainer and I figure if we're gonna be a real live team then we need to expand our team. I'm a little older than most of the starting trainers so I don't know if he'll actually give me one but let's give it a shot yeah?" Vi smiles at him, Rune holding onto her shoulder as she enters the lab. There are a couple of other trainers, so Violetta feels shy and slightly embarrassed so she hangs back, hands folded behind her back.

Professor OakThe day had picked up quite a bit, and he was proud to see all of the new trainers going out into the world and starting their journeys. He had turned back to his first trainer of the day, Kane. The trainer-to-be seemed to be still making a decision as a pair walked in. Another trainer, which she seemed to have her own Riolu as well. It was a nice sight to see these trainers already having experience with Pokemon, it means they'll progress that much easier. The professor waved her over. "Why hello! step on over and I'll be able to help you out." he told her with his natural kind tone, and smile to match. "I'm going to guess you're here for your starter? Have you given it any thought?" he asked her wondering if she knew what starter she wanted. |

Violetta jumps slightly when the Professor calls her over, approaching him slowly. "Hello sir, my name is Violetta and this is Rune." Her Riolu speaks up from her shoulder before nodding his head respectfully. "I was told you were giving out starters to beginning trainers. I've been travelling around for a while now, but Rune and I are ready to be a real team now."
Rune lifts a hand and makes a noise from her shoulder, causing Vi to giggle. "I was thinking a Charmander would be a good addition to my little team. Do you have any left?"

"A Charmander you say? Of course we do. Good choice," Oak smiled as he came back to the new arrival after moving to a table with a small tray on it. He picked it up and moved back to her, holding out the tray with a small array of items on it.
"Here is your new Pokedex, and these are some extra pokeballs and potions to start on your way. Vi takes the supplies and shoves them into her backpack, waiting until everything is put away before taking the pokemon from the Professor. She smiles down at the small red and white ball before looking back at the Professor. "Thank you Professor. I'll take good care of him!"
She turns and heads out of the lab, waving goodbye to the people inside before running back into Pallet Town.

Kane had been watching quietly as several trainers came in and out of the lab, paying close attention to the Pokemon each one had chosen. It occurred to them that nobody had yet picked a Bulbasaur, and their curiosity began to get the better of them. They fiddled with one of their ear piercings while they waited for Professor Oak to finish with the most recent youngster, and then stepped forward and spoke up once again.
"Sorry for the wait, Professor! I didn't realize it would get quite so busy!" Kane chuckled, and then continued, "Anyway, I've noticed that no-one has asked for a Bulbasaur yet. I'm curious, and I think I'd like to meet one, if it's not too much trouble!" They flashed their most charming grin at the professor, and gently bounced on the balls of their feet in excitement.

Professor OakOak watched the most recent trainer disappear out of the lab, and just as she left, the first trainer-to-be spoke up. He turned back to the teen and gave Kane a smile. "It's quite alright, I'm glad you're putting a bit of thought into your decision." he told the teen. He himself wasn't expecting the about of young trainers to be to come through, but it was a pleasant surprise. The teen decided that meeting the Bulbasaur would help, so he nod and began over to the table. He picked up the Pokeball that was on the table and held it forward, and in a flash of light the Bulbasaur appeared. The professor held out the empty Pokeballs to Kane, and gathered the items that would help along the way. Maybe meeting the little bulb would help the choice. Kane has received:  Bulbasaur Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex |

Kane's face lit up as the small green Pokemon burst forth from the Pokeball. It blinked sleepily, and looked about for a moment, confused. Kane crouched down and smiled at it, and said, "Hey, little dude! How's it going? Would you be interested in coming with me today?"
The Bulbasaur looked up at Kane and waggled its rear happily, glad to both be out of its Pokeball and see a friendly face. Without warning, it sprang up onto Kane's lap, tottering precariously before balancing on the teen's knees and giving them a giant lick on the cheek. "Wha-!" Kane spluttered and laughed, and then scooped the bulb Pokemon into their arms and stood. "Well, I guess that answers that question, doesn't it?" They looked back at the Professor, grinning wide, and exclaimed, "Thank you so much, Professor Oak! I'll take good care of this little guy. Goodbye, and good luck with your research!" They gently took their new Pokemon's paw in one hand and waved it at Professor Oak, giggling, "Say goodbye to the Professor, Bulbasaur!""Bulba!" The Pokemon echoed, and a vine sprouted from the bulb on its back to wave at the Professor in addition to the paw that Kane held. Sasha stared at the Laboratory doors. The sense of dread that was squirming around in his gut could be traced back to his very clear knowledge of what laid beyond. This was really it, he'd be getting his very own pokemon. His own. Not a grumpy, second hand drifloon with dubious allegiances. Ever sense his mother had insisted he take the thing he had known it was a bad idea. The floating pokemon was just never very fond of him. Perhaps it didn't like his smell or something, hard to be sure... maybe...maybe his new pokemon wouldn't like the way he smelled either? Then what? What if all pokemon ended up hating him. He knew he had to stop thinking this way. If he didn't he'd just end up psyching himself out even more. With a deep breath and a firm adjustment of his black belt, he stepped in through the doors with one tentative sneaker, and the rest of him followed-- all meager five foot nothing of him. He still had his headphones drapped around his neck, and his hoodie was a raticate nest, thanks to him rubbing the fabric of his hoodie into it out of nerves. His teeshirt was paired with a pair of brown trousers and a mustard colored t-shirt. His gloved hands were clenched into fists as he walked forward, observing the unique flashing instruments that bordered him on all sides. It was like walking into a christmas tree, everything was glittering chrome decoration. He reminded himself to stay calm and walked right up to the Professor with a confident lift to his chin. "Hello, Professor..um, I'd like to have--A pokemon." He said, willing himself to display all the confident he really wasn't feeling at the moment. This could be it...The moment he had been waiting for. He was one step closer to finding out what his destiny was going to be.

In the ever busy laboratory that rested in Pallet Town, the usual hustle and bustle rang through the hallways of the facility as another day swept over the studies of pokemon. Amongst those who worked feverishly in it's walls was a one Professor Oak.
It was with a smile that Oak looked up from a clip board of data and information at the mere mention of someone having rushed into the laboratory from one of his assistants. Setting his things down, Oak didn't waste any time in moving forward, coming to greet the young man.
"Good day," Oak greeted with a bright smile, moving forward with an extended hand.
"A Pokemon you say? Why, have you decided on which it is you would like to chose," Oak questioned.
