 When Akala Island first began growing with settlements many years ago, and Heahea City was only just a small port town for trades and goods, there was another town on the other side of a large and treacherous mountain that had settled too. There was only so many goods they could transport by boat, and the oceans got too deep in order to build any bridges, so traveling over the mountain was how many mechants would travel between the two towns. The journey would take days at a time, and there were times when those merchants and their Pokemon would not come back, so people and Pokemon started working together in order to better all of their lives. An entire colony of Diglett and Dugtrio lived within this mountain, but rather than treating the humans with rage and hostility, they understood that they would become a symbiotic organism when they worked together to dig through the mountain entirely to connect the two towns. Since then, the Diglett and Dugtrio have always had a permanent home, and both Heahea City and Konikoni City take great pride and care in maintaining the tunnels and keeping the Diglett who helped them long ago safe. Elfana Aroway Elfana had been enjoying the tunnels at first. The Alolan Diglett that lived in the tunnel were kind of adorable. Whenever they would pop up, she would stop and watch them until they moved on. She assumed that any Dugtrio she came across would also be regional variants. Needless to say, she was surprised when the Dugtrio she came across ended up being a variety she was much more familiar with. She thought it odd but was about to try to move on when Pantalaimon wiggled out of her arms and ran up to the Dugtrio. Elfana didn't recognize the Pokemon but he did! The thunder monster had told them that he was one of the Pokemon that had stolen his Zap Plate- whatever that was. "Give back the plate!" He did his best to look intimidating but that was a difficult task for such a sweet Turtwig. When the Dugtrio tried to flee underground, he caught it up in his vines and tried to pull it back up. "Get back here!" Pantalaimon dug his feet in and tried to take a few steps back, only to find himself caught up in a mound of sand. He slipped and fell flat, but the vines were still attached to the Dugtrio. Before it could escape, he used Absorb, draining the Dugtrio's energy and knocking it out cold. Only then was he able to pull it back up enough to search it for the Plate. He stamped one of his feet and pouted when he found nothing. "This one doesn't have it." He whined to his trainer, who picked him back up and sighed. "We do not random Pokemon. That Dugtrio wasn't hurting anything." She scolded Pantalaimon as she moved past the Dugtrio. It was out of place but that was no reason to attack it! Elfana was still refusing to believe the Arceus incident had been anything but some sort of hallucination.

Elfana Aroway Their second trip through the tunnel was quiet. Elfana was glad to see that the Dugtrio was gone when the passed by that area again. She assumed it had recovered enough to hide. That was probably for the best. Pantalaimon was on the look out for anything that looked like one of the Pokemon that had stolen the Zap Plate. The tunnels were mostly silent. Her Turtwig's earlier battle likely scared off any of the Diglett she had been admiring earlier. That was likely for the best. They were making much better time through the tunnel this time around since she wasn't stopping to look at the Diglett that appeared every few minutes. Considering they had to pass through a resort next, she was almost regretting how quickly they were getting through the cave. Resort meant an unnecessary amount of people. She hadn't seen it yet and she already hated it.Alola
