Professor Elm is the resident Pokémon Professor of New Bark Town in the Johto region. Saying so himself, Professor Elm studies unusual Pokémon Abilities. He also specializes in Pokémon breeding, and helps regulate the guidelines on how to care for eggs. In his younger years, he studied under Professor Oak, who taught him to be the Professor he is today. According to Professor Oak, Professor Elm "is the best when it comes to the research of Pokémon evolution." Even so, He is also absent-minded and Elm has a habit of getting incredibly wrapped up in his research that he is completely oblivious to his surroundings and can even be a little scatter-brained, as well as disorganized when he gets too deep in his studies. Professor Elm works at his Laboratory in New Bark Town with his aide. He lives in a small house near his laboratory with his wife and son, who wants to grow up to be a Pokémon Professor like his dad.

It’d been a good while, a few years now it seemed, that the trio had been to the larger regions of the world. Growing up in Unova but then having to move out to the Orre region, it was certainly a culture shock, but one that didn’t come with resentment. A young woman, a Gengar, and a Zoroark had found their niche after a bit in the dusty lands of the desert, and were quick to gain some footing in a prominent position. They’d spent their time honing the skills they had worked on together in the woman’s youth and working their way into the ranks of a one Team Cipher, but insolence was quick to ensue which was why now a tall, full figure was coming up over a hill in the distance from New Bark Town in the Johto Region. With the Shadow Lugia free, Demeter Becartiae had taken the head of the operation in recovering the beast for their continued work in the shadow process, along with a few of her fellow administrators who too were looking for the glory and propriety that would come with single handedly bringing Cipher’s greatest achievement back to the ruined facility. At that point, this all had turned into a competition of sorts, a competition to wipe out each other in order to make sure they got their hands on the creature, and Demeter was in no place to lose to her coworkers. She had more riding on the capture than just coming back victorious to Cipher and gaining the best hand in the deck. ”You’re still very serious about this gamble of yours, aren’t you,” came a proper and smooth voice, though laced with cynicism and taunting. Loki, a longtime companion, despite ‘companion’ being a strong word, strode beside Demeter in the morning of New Bark Town, though as per usual he was not donning his natural appearance. Being a Zoroark, an illusionist by trade, he was cloaked in a persona he’d come to fancy over the years, a tall, slender young man with strikingly sharp features, slicked dark raven hair, and glowing green eyes. ”About as serious as I am when I say you will regret asking me that question again,” Demeter seethed, her gray eyes sharp as she turned a glare towards the illusion beside her. She however was met only with a chuckle and a toothy smile as Loki shook his head. ”Oh darling, you couldn’t lay a finger on me, you know that,” he reminded as if to put her in her place, but Demeter wouldn’t have it as she turned quickly to look him straight in the eyes. ”And you know that I’m not that same little girl any more as much as you think I am,” she replied sharply, and though she was facing the tall figure that he personified for himself, she drew her pistol in a swift motion and had it under the chin of a double behind her, having anticipated Loki’s illusion. Demeter ed an eye brow at his ploy as she looked up at him with a smirk. ”We’re doing this. If you want to bow out now, here’s your chance,” Demeter spoke seriously after a moment, though that moment was broken at snickers coming from beneath them, a grin appearing in the shadow of her figure at the ground. ”What’s the matter Loki? Don’t think our fearless leader can take the world by storm,” Calcifer snickered in her shadow, the Gengar looking up at them then as his eyes appeared above his wide grin. ”You know as well as I that our young human has a lot to learn before she’s capable of such a feat,” Loki returned, his double disappearing as he looked down to Demeter who was putting up her pistol. ”Then what does that say about you? You’ve taught me everything I know,” Demeter returned shortly, turning to continue walking towards her destination, leaving Calcifer cackling in her shadow as Loki followed after. He was hard pressed if he was going to leave the human he’d found himself in company for years now over just a few stabs. After all, she’d thrown worse at him, a bullet or two included. ”Now I will personally see to it that you two are put through the shadow process to become mindless obedient shells of who you once were if you jack this up. Are we clear,” Demeter turned to look at the two Pokemon, reminding them that her time in the laboratory to register as a trainer was pertinent to the future of her plans, and she did not need them ruining anything. The dark and ghost type merely gave each other a sideways glance before Calcifer returned to her shadow with a mock salute, leaving her to look at Loki dead in the eyes. ”Of course Demeter. You’re a brand new trainer looking to register for this league. It’ll be the perfect guise,” Loki smiled as genuinely as he dared, though Demeter knew better than to accept that. She knew he knew better than to compromise a mission, so that was no threat, but she knew those words weren’t going to come without consequence. Demeter walked carefully then into Professor Elm’s laboratory, feigning her assumed persona now, a brand new trainer who was looking to register for the Pokemon League and receive her very own starter Pokemon. It was sickening to her, having to play at such a pathetic ploy, but if she really had to look back on how she obtained some things in her past, this wasn’t the worst part she’s ever played. Donning an innocent look with her purple hair pulled back in a cute little up turned pony tail, a modest pair of nice looking jeans, running shoes, and a high neck shirt, she looked around the laboratory for whom she knew to be the professor of the institution. ”Hello Professor, Elm, is it? I’m Vanessa Montrell, I’ve come for my Cyndaquil to register for the league,” Demeter greeted with a smile as she walked towards the professor, just as she looked down to a yip at her side, a small runt of an Eevee with glowing green eyes pawing at her legs, a whimper coming from it’s muzzle as it looked up to be held in her arms. There was a quick shift in her demeanor, a glare that only those who were looking for it would see, before she leaned down and picked up the small fox in her arms. If she didn’t know any better, she could hear Loki snickering in this chosen form as she looked back to the professor with a bright smile again. Professor ElmIt had been a very slow day today, so Elm and his team had gotten quite a bit of research done. A lot of which was more of a waiting game, studying and waiting for the Pokemon eggs to grow and develop. Elm had just come from his office with a stack of books in one arm and reading from a clip board in the other, while stacks of papers hung out of his lab coat pockets just waiting for the right breeze to free themselves from his crowded pockets. He was so focused on his data that he almost missed the new trainer to be entirely. He nearly walked right past her until he heard her greeting. Elm stopped dead in his tracks, and looked up to her, pushing his round glassed higher on his nose with the clipboarded hand. "Oh hello!" he greeted back, with a friendly smile. "You are correct, I am the one and only." he responded to her asking if he was Elm. He listened to her about wanting her starter, as he moved over to a near by table, and set down his books. It seemed that she had already decided on her starter, which was always good! She was well thought out, and it seemed she wasn't new to caring for Pokemon, seeing her very happy looking Eevee. Which that was a very good thing considering her age, but better late then never. "Alright, Vanessa, follow me." he told her, and began to walk to another side of the room, towards the table with the three Pokeballs on them. Elm reached over and plucked the center Pokeball off the table, and held it out to her. "Here you are," he told her, and then began to dig around his lab coat pocket with his free hand, and after she took the ball, he also held out other items to her. "Here, take these as well, they'll help you out along the way." he told her with a nod.Demeter Vanessa has received: Cyndaquil Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex

Thomas Baker pushed the hair out of his bespectacled eyes and gazed upon the Lab before him. It had been a long journey on the Magnet Train and on foot to reach New Bark Town and Professor Elm's lab. He was from the Kanto region but wanted a Pokemon from the Johto region when he registered for the Pokemon League. He smiled softly as he approached the doors of the Lab, pushing them open with a bit of feigned difficulty. He inhaled sharply as he beheld the form of the famous Professor Elm and another that had received a Pokemon. "Hello?", he called out in greeting as he stepped forward past the shelves of books.
As he drew nearer, he then said, "Professor Elm? My name is Thomas Baker. I was hoping you could help me get registered for the Pokemon League and provide me with a Totodile to get me started?". He looked up at the Professor with a soft smile. He hoped that the Professor still had some to spare. He'd come a long way, from Celadon City, to get a starter!

Professor ElmProfessor Elm had returned back to his work, after the previous woman starting her journey had been long since gone. It was still a pretty slow day and he had dove back into his studies. It wasn't until he heard another unfamiliar voice that he looked up from his paper work to see a young man standing towards the front of his lab. The professor smiled to the teen and began toward to greet him in return. "Hello!" he told him, and let Thomas introduce himself as well as explain his visit. Elm nodded to the teen. "Of course I will." he assured the new trainer to be, and began towards a table with three Pokeballs sitting on it. Elm stopped by it and turned back to Thomas. He loaded the pokeball onto a tray, along with a Pokedex and a few other items. "Here is your Totodile, as well as a few items that will help you along the way." Elm explained. Having approached the spacy professor who would have walked right by her had she not said anything, Demeter stood with Loki in her arms, watching Elm fix his unnecessarily large pair of glasses on the bridge of his nose. He didn't hesitate though as she introduced herself and oh so kindly requested a starter Pokemon from him, but she would never say that it was due to any kind of help from Loki in her arms. She followed the professor in any case as he bid her along, keeping the Eevee close in her arms, resisting the urge to strangle him, but Demeter only kept on her persona as Elm led her across the room towards a table holding three Pokeballs. Demeter contemplated having Calcifer snatch them from her shadow, but she couldn't know that they'd really be worth anything. Maybe in another region, but she didn't have time for such a small gamble like that. She had bigger plans. The professor still without question handed her the shiny new Pokeball, along with another array of items that had been shoved into his pockets, and she almost snickered at knowing she already had her fair share of items after coming from Orre. But situating Loki over her shoulders so she could take the given items and stow them away in her bag, Demeter thanked Elm with a pleasant smile and a warm voice, turning to move back out into New Bark Town. Julian Malcolm was a teenager, about to begin his journey into the world of Pokemon. He started later than most, at the age of fourteen rather than ten or eleven. He walked slowly into the Professor's Laboratory, looking around, both companions Espeon and Umbreon just behind him. He approached the man he knew to be the Professor, he was from this town after all. He pulled a notepad out of his pocket and jotted something down, before tapping on the man's shoulder and handing the paper over. It read; 'Hi, I'm Julian. I would like Cyndaquil please.'
He waited patiently for the Professor to finish reading, and watched his lips for a response just in case there were some other requirements he was missing. Espeon and Umbreon began looking and sniffing around, but when Julian snapped the fingers on one hand they quickly returned to his side and sat, showing that they were both very well trained.

Professor ElmHe had quite the busy day ahead of him, the lab was filled with lab assistants rushing about and focused on the computer screens and Pokemon they were researching. Professor Elm was concentrating on a computer screen, he was watching one of his lab assistance conducting an experiment in regarding to a Pokemon's ability. Elm was so engrossed with the experiment, he hadn't even heard the young teen walk in with his two Pokemon. He felt a light tap on his shoulder which tore him away from his thoughts. He turned around to ask the assistant to wait a moment, but was met with a teenager. "Oh, hello." he greeted, with a kind smile. Elm looked down to the paper that the teen held out for him, and he slowly took it. He pushed his glasses higher on his nose as he began to read the paper. He glanced up at the teen, unsure of how to handle the situation. He had never been handed a paper, but he wasn't going to question. "Alright Julian." Elm told him, and began towards a near by table and waved for Julian to follow. Once he got back to the table, he turned back to Julian, and held out one of the Pokeballs for him. "Alright, here is your Cyndaquil, as well as have these." he began, reaching into the pockets of his lab coats, and pulled out a Pokedex and a few other items for the trainer to be. "Take these as well, they will definitely help you along the way." he finished with a nod. Chase glanced at the building one last time before he would make the move to walk in. His hands were shaking. It had been a long time coming but it was finally here. After years of watching everyone pass him by he was going to get his own Pokemon and get out of this god forsaken town. He tilted his gray cap to the side, cracked a smile and walked in. "Hey Chase! What brings you by? I'm afraid I don't have any work for you today, but it's always good to see you. How's your sister?" Said Professor Elm "Uhh well actually this isn't about that... But she's good! I'm finally able to get a Pokemon and get out of here. I mean if that's ok! I need your help." Claimed Chase
"If anyone deserves this then it is you. But you know this is a big decision. Luckily I have the perfect Pokemon for you. This is the last Cyndaquil I have left from the group that you should have been in. His name is Soot. He was sick when he should have left, but we finally got him back to health. He's extremely big for his breed and he's extremely loving. I think he's perfect for you. The two of you both are getting a late start, but that doesn't mean you can't be great." Grimy and sweaty after a several day trek, Dare and Tyrogue found their way to the pokemon laboratory of Professor Elm. His face covered in even more dirt than usual, Dare frowned slightly as he stood outside of the lab. What exactly am I supposed to do?
Tyrogue, in his usual manner, sat behind his friend and watched until impatience overcame him. As Dare stood motionless in front of the Lab, the Scuffle Pokemon waltzed right in through the front door seeming not to care whether or not Dare followed. This was cutting into Tyrogue's training time, didn't Dare know that? Dare catching onto what his pokemon was doing, only had a few seconds to catch up to his pokemon in order that it didn't shut the door in his face! Being a little older than the usual starting trainer, Dare was a little nervous what the professor might think of him. After crossing the threshold, Dare would scan the room looking for the Professor. Seeing a man who seemed preoccupied at a desk with many books in front of him, Dare could only assume that this was the professor himself. Tyrogue must have come to the same conclusion, because he was striding purposefully towards the man. Hustling to catch up, Dare could only smile sheepishly as Tyrogue would attempt to tug on the man's lab coat to get his attention. The Scuffle Pokemon was in a sour mood today. When the Professor would notice Dare and his pokemon, He would smile sheepishly and ask, "Excuse me sir, You are Professor Elm correct? I have come here today to ask if I may receive a Chickorita from you. I really would like to start my journey as a pokemon trainer."

Professor ElmThe professor was lost in thought as always, working at his desk, trying to work through his research, losing the surrounding world as he did so. The day was moderately busy, but no where as busy as the past few days. Elm got up and moved around his desk to grab another piece of information, and felt a tug on his lab coat. The professor slowly looked down with clear confusion on his face. What was a tyrogue doing in the lab. But before he could question the little guy, a young man walked up and caught his attention. Elm pushed his glassed back on the bridge of his nose, and then gave the teen a smile. "Why, yes I am Professor Elm! How may I help you?" he offered the teen, setting his paper work down on the desk, thinking it would be nice to have a quick break. The young male answered quickly and seemed to be sure of his choice, a chikorita. "Of course" he told the young man, and waved the two to follow him over to a table. He picked up one of the Pokeballs, and held it out to the trainer-to-be, as well as reached into his lab coat's pocket for more items. "Here is your chikorita, as well as a few items that will help you out on your journey." he told him with a nod and a friendly smile.[/div] Dare has received: Chickorita Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex.

OOC: Good afternoon! Thank you so much for showing interest in the role play and beginning to role play with us! Please, take your Chickorita in order to begin your journey, but be mindful that we do ask that all role play posts be in third person, like my post below. If you need any help trying to write in third person, please do not hesitate to ask~ It had been a quiet morning thus far at the famed laboratory for Professor Elm, but somehow the good professor had a feeling he would see some new trainers coming in to begin their journies. It was one of his favorite parts of the job, being able to give new trainers that first step into the world, giving them the first stone to building the rest of their life, should they chose to take it of course. Elm wasn't surprised then to see a new face entering into the laboratory, requesting a Chickorita. "Of course, of course! A Chickorita is a fine choice," Elm beamed, moving through the lab only momentarily before coming back to the trainer to be. "Here is a few items to get you on your way too, and this Pokeball contains your new Chickorita," Elm relayed, handing out a small set of items.Arewell has received:Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Chickorita Lv. 5 HP- 40 Exp 0/15 Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

The tall broad shouldered man stood outside the professors laboratory. His left hand went absentmindedly to scratch the brown beard on his face. It had been twelve years since he had last stood in front of this building, professor Elm was a very very young professor back in those days but now he was a well respected man, just a few years older than Carter was.
His blue eyes looked fondly at the door as he thought back to his fort trip through that door, the trip he ha taken from mahogany town just to get his old Typhlosion Cinder. The beast had been his partner for six years before he passed him off along with every Pokemon he had captured to a young girl on her journey from his home town. Now he was back to become a trainer, having put in six years with the Rangers before retiring.
Not wanting to waste any more time the tall man opened the door and walked into the room, his dirty hiking boots thumping off of the clean white tile. He almost winced because he forgot to clean the mud off his boots before coming in. What's done is done he thought before clearing his throat while he stood behind the professor, "Professor Elm? I'm here to get a partner to start my Pokémon journey with again. If you would help me out I would like to ask you for a totadile. "
He get strange standing here asking for a second Pokémon after so many years but he would need a partner to begin his journey with, "also if I could trouble you for some pokeballs I would be deeply indebted to you."

Professor ElmThe day had gone by rather slow so far, having not much work or research to do today. He was sitting at his desk reading over a hypothesis that one of his lab assistants typed up for him, and was pleasantly surprised. After finishing it he stood form his desk and began into the main of the lab to speak with the assistant. The idea was an exciting one for him, so he mind was wrapped up in it and seemingly walked right past the young man. It wasn't until he heard his voice did it snap him from his train of thought. He looked up and over at the young man. "Oh my, I'm sorry about that!" He apologized and began back over to the bearded young man. He set the packet down on a near by desk as he walked over, and smiled to him. "Of course, right this way." He told him and walked him to a desk with three Pokeballs on it, and plucked one of them up and held it out for the trainer to be. "Here you are," he told him, pushing his glassed higher up on his nose, just as he asked about Pokeballs. "Oh, I wouldn't send you out there unprepared." He told him, and reached into one of the desk's drawers. He pulled out a container with Pokeballs and Potions. "Take as many as you need." he told him giving him a nod.Carter has received: Totodile Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Scratch- 30 Leer- Lowers target's defense by one stage Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex

Thomas's fingers drummed nervously on his thighs as he sat in the cargo bay of the plane. He checked his watch for the fiftieth time in the last ten minutes. He squirmed in his seat, trying to get more comfortable. It didn't work. He reached up to his headset and pushed the button.
"Skyla, remind me again why I have to jump out of a plane to get to New Bark Town; surely there's a better way to do this..." he said nervously, his normally calm demeanor cracked from fear.
Skyla laughed quietly from the pit for a moment before she replied. "Well, for one thing, the closest airport is all the way in Kanto. We could fly you there, but it would probably tack another day onto your arrival date, and you're already late as it is," she said. "Also, seeing you panicking like a child is hilarious."
Thomas grumbled under his breath. Last week, after he announced he was going to travel to the Johto region, Skyla had decided she would be the one to escort him to the region. She had been scheduled to make a cargo run to Kanto, and would be passing over the Johto region midway through her flight. Of course, Thomas hadn't realized until about two hours prior that they wouldn't be landing; he would have to jump.
Thomas checked his watch again; five minutes to go. He sighed in resignation. "Skyla, if I die, I swear I will find you and haunt you until the day you die."
This time, Skyla didn't bother hiding her laughter. "Hahahahah, oh you big baby! I packed the parachute myself; you don't have to worry about it failing."
Wind buffeted the plane and caused it to rock slightly. Thomas looked around in horror. "The parachute isn't what I'm worried about! What if a tornado whips up and tears me apart?! What if I get blown so far off course that I land in the ocean and drown?! What if my parachute gets blown off and I freefall?! So many things could go wrong!"
"You used to fly with Freedom all the time; how is this any different?" Skyla pointed out.
"Freedom was a living thing who I knew would never let me fall! She cared about my safety just as much, if not more than my parents!"
Skyla laughed again. "Do you know how many people die in skydiving accidents? It's safer than walking on the ground."
Thomas sighed. "There really is no way out of this, is there?"
"Unfortunately not."
Thomas was silent. He took some deep breaths and attempted to calm down. He remembered the first time he had to face something like this. Skyla had excitedly told him about a skydiving class her grandfather was offering as an extracurricular activity that she had signed them both up for. Mortified, Thomas could only tag along. At least then he and Skyla were going together. Now it was just him.
They hit another bump of turbulence. Thomas felt a bead of sweat roll down his face; one minute left. He unbuckled his harness and prepared to jump. He sighed. He was not looking forward to this. His headset crackled.
"...Thomas?" Skyla was speaking softly now, all humor gone.
"Hmm?"
"Do me a favor and be careful, okay? There have been some weird things going on in the Johto region."
Thomas stopped for a moment, taken aback. His answer was soft as well. "Okay. I will, Skyla," he paused for a moment. "Define 'weird things'..."
He heard her draw in a shaky breath. "I don't know, really," she said after a pause. "Just some strange things I've heard over radio chatter. Nothing much, just random phrases being repeated. Something about rising. Something about unleashing power. And something about a terrible cold feeling...it's kind of unsettling."
Thomas thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll be alert." He could almost feel her relax. "But I will look into some of these events. I'm a bit curious. But that's not the real reason I'm here."
She was silent for a moment. The humor seemed to have returned to her voice. "Oh? What is your real reason?"
He grinned, forgetting his fear momentarily. "Why, to see the sights, of course! Have you heard of Sprout Tower? Mount Silver? The Ruins of Alph? All wonderful places to visit! I'll take plenty of pictures and show you when I get back and challenge your gym again."
She laughed a bit. "You're going to challenge me again? That'll be interesting for sure."
The hatch opened. It was time to jump. Thomas picked up his backpack and wore it in front as he readied his parachute. His heart began beating twice as fast. Mustering up courage, he readied himself. And before he lost his nerve, he spoke into the headset once again.
"And that's another promise I'll make to you, Skyla; I promise to return alive so I can finally beat you. I will return to you; don't worry."
Before she could respond, he pulled his headset off, racked it above the seat, took a running start, and jumped. And as he fell away from the plane, one thing echoed through his head, something that drowned out even his screaming curses; his promise to return.
When he reached the right altitude, he deployed his parachute and began floating slowly towards the ground. New Bark Town materialized as he descended. He had a few calm moments to himself in which he could think. He mentally berated himself for two things; one, for being scared when he knew exactly what to do. And two, for making such a fool out of himself by promising in such a way. Yes, he liked Skyla, but he was pretty sure she only saw him as a friend. And he did NOT want to make things awkward between them.
He was abruptly shaken out of his train of thought when he saw he was headed straight for a tree. Desperately, he tried to maneuver out of the way, but it was too late. The parachute tangled up in the branches, and he was hanging as if from a swing. Muttering darkly to himself, he got his backpack out of the way and threw it a few feet clear of the bottom of the tree. He winced as he heard it loudly crash into the ground.
"I hope nothing broke," he murmured.
He reached the straps of the parachute pack and hit the release button. Realizing his mistake too late, he loudly cursed as he dropped out of the tree and crashed into some bushes near the tree. He laid on the ground for a couple of minutes, groaning. He stood up slowly, straightening and stretching his back out, and saw a wide-eyed little boy staring at him. Still a bit winded and breathing heavily, he raised a hand in greeting.
"Hey there," he wheezed. "Would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of Professor Elm's lab?"
The boy nodded mutely, and pointed at a large building northwest of where he had landed. He grinned painfully.
"Thank you kindly!" he said. Thomas limped over to his backpack and pulled out a collapsible tent pole. Carefully, he fished the parachute out of the tree. Packing it tightly back into the parachute pack, he shouldered both the parachute and his backpack, and limped slowly to the lab. The boy just stared at him until he went into the building, the door shutting behind him.
Thomas entered the lab, and two people in lab coats looked up. Thomas put on a winning smile. "Hi there! Sorry I'm late. My entries are usually more timely and less...dynamic, but my flight was delayed due to weather. Professor Elm, right? Yes, I have decided on Totodile for my starter."

Professor Elm The Professor Elm had a pretty easy day planned, not to much research to do, He just had to help his Lab assists with their experiments. However, none of them really were planned until later in the day. He had been waiting for his appointment with a trainer-to-be, and in the mean time he had been reading reading one of the books he had sitting on one of the many desks in the main lab. Usually, he didn't mind when young men or woman just did a walk in to get their starters, however, he did find it difficult to help them if he was in the middle of an experiment with a Pokemon. So he found appointments rather helpful, unless they run late. Elm didn't mind all that much, it gave time like now to read. Elm looked up at the brunette as he walked into the lab, and pushed his glasses back on the bridge of his nose as he listened to his greeting and apology. "Why, hello!" He greeted, setting down his book. He stood up and began towards the young man. "It's quite alright, You're here and that's all that matters!" He told him with a friendly smile. He began towards the table with the starters sitting on it, he turned back to the male and picked up the Totodile's Pokeball and held it out to the trainer-to-be. "It's very good that you've already put thought into what your starter will be." he explained to him. He then reached into his lab coat pocket. "Take these as well, they'll help you along the way." he told him, pulling out a few items for Thomas.Thomas has received: Totodile Lv. 5 HP- 40 Ability: Scratch- 30 Leer- Lowers target's defense by one stage Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex

Elizabeth Morgan It had been a long trip with Arol following along. The Lampent hadn't been any particular hindrance. In fact, he was as helpful as any Ghost could be! The redhead he was escorting, however, only grew more agitated as he guided her to Newbark Town and her first Pokemon. Arol was gleefully floating along while Liz struggled to pass through the underbrush surrounding the town. She flailed and screeched with shock when Arol tried to pull her through a bush she had gotten stuck in, and caused her to fall when she tried to get her hand out of his metallic grasp. "Let go of me, you crazy lamp! I said you could come! I didn't say you could do whatever you wanted too!" Arol could only be described as pouting at that point. He hovered out of the way of Liz's swinging arm as she struggled to get up and try to hit him at the same time. If she hadn't been so rude, it might have been funny. The Lampent only chimed his name at her like he was just another Pokemon. It made that scowl falter, long enough to see that his girl knew what she was dealing with. "Alright, fine. You've been...helpful. Just--just stop with all that touching." She griped, struggling still to get it all straight in her head. Arol had already established himself as one of Daisy's--Liz's mother--Pokemon and that there was no getting rid of him. And Liz was learning to appreciate the Ghost Pokemon for his helpful nature. Arol didn't appear to approve of being told off for trying to help, but he didn't try to touch her again. The young woman brushed her shorts off and noticed they were no longer wandering around in the woods anymore. She had actually just stumbled through somebody's bushes. Oops.
This seemed like the right place. Liz walked around the small town in search of something that she realized had been obvious if she had just looked up from the start. Elm's Laboratory was definitely the largest building here. "Hmm. Hello? Is this..err...Professor Elm's house?" The young woman called out after knocking on the front door. Arol huddled closer to the door as if he were trying to see through it and determine if Elm was even present. When Johto's Pokemon Professor would get to his door, he would get quite the shock of a Lampent floating nose-to-nose with him. Liz was just smiling uncomfortably, leaning around Arol to make herself seen--she hoped--and able to get that Pokemon. Upon realizing how much it might distract the poor Professor to have a Ghost Pokemon in his face, Liz grabbed the Lampent away and pushed him off to the side. "Arol, get out of--Sorry! Arol can be a little...creepy. My name is Liz. Elizabeth Morgan? Your Aides--I think--told me you had Pokemon for new Trainers?" She explained, wondering if maybe she was even at the right place at all. "Like that cute little blue one with the fire mane." She added, cupping her hands like she was holding the imagined Cyndaquil for the Professor to see. It wasn't the best description, but Liz was no Pokemon Master like others before her. She struggled to remember such information without a good reason to remember it. Her very own Cyndaquil would be reason enough to remember its name from now on. Once she met it. That was suddenly a very stressful thought now that she was about to go through with this...Pokemon: Arol Lampent Male 2' 3" 32.1 lbs Level: N/A EXP: N/A Moves: N/AComing Soon
Cherry Cyndaquil (Will Roll) 1' 8" 17.4 lbs Level 5 EXP: 0/0 HP- 40 Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

It had been a quiet morning thus far at the famed laboratory for Professor Elm, but somehow the good professor had a feeling he would see some new trainers coming in to begin their journies. It was one of his favorite parts of the job, being able to give new trainers that first step into the world, giving them the first stone to building the rest of their life, should they chose to take it of course. Elm wasn't surprised when he heard a sort of knock at his door, or at least some kind of noise, but as he'd gone to check who might be out there, he'd come face to face with glowing yellow eyes and burning purple fire, startling him as he jumped back with his arms up. His glasses had fallen down the bridge of his nose away as he had to adjust them, looking to see a young woman standing just behind the ghost type, a Lampent he believed it was. "Oh no, that's quite alright, please, come in," Elm greeted, with a bit of a quiver in his voice, all the same despite the Lampent's antics. Elm listened to her intently however as she began to speak, introducing herself first, and by the sounds of it she was looking for a new Pokemon to start on her journey. "Of course, of course! You are in the right place," Elm beamed. He listened as she went on about the Pokemon she was looking for, and smiled at her description that did just enough to know what she was talking about. "Ah, a Cyndaquil, the fire type. A Cyndaquil is a fine choice," he said, moving through the lab only momentarily before coming back to the trainer to be. "Here is a few items to get you on your way too, and this Pokeball contains your new Cyndaquil," Elm relayed, handing out a small set of items. As the young energetic trainer from Ecruteak City, he soon found himself at the professors lab. Upon entering the lab, he was met by three energetic little Pokemon. "Ha!" He chuckles and walks in closing the door behind him. "Professor! I'm here to begin my journey as a trainer." Upon looking down at the three Pokémon, feeling the right choice he smiled and bent down picking the Chikorita up. "Professor I would like to choose Chikorita as my partner Pokemon." He asked looking up at the professor and pushing off his own knee slowly stood up holding the grass type Pokemon with a bright smile on his face.

Professor Elm It had been a quiet morning in the laboratory nestled in the quaint town, the peace of New Bark town always refreshing and invigorating. Professor Elm though spared no time in leisure however, despite the allure of the crisp morning air, always busy and always working. It was no simple task being one of the leading researchers for Pokemon everywhere, and he knew that there was always something to work on, always something to record, and always something new to learn. While his stuides were numerous and his work vast, he quite enjoyed his secondary position with partnering with the Pokemon League in order to provide starter Pokemon for any new trainer who would want to begin a journey. Young or old, he'd met quite a few aspiring Pokemon Masters who were eager to see what the world could offer them, but never without a companion to take with them to raise and grow on their own. Such a happenstance presented itself that very morning as just moments after a few of the starter Pokemon had started running about the facility, a new young face walked through the door to his laboratory, excited and ready. "Ready to begin your journey you say," the Professor beamed as he adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose, watching as the trainer picked up the Chikorita that had been running around on the ground. "I should say you are if you're that confident already in picking out your lifetime partner," he commented. He wasn't going to say anything more on the matter though, a trainer's choice was their own after all, and he was more than happy to let them chose their very own partner. "You'll need just a few more things to get you started, let me get them for you," he mentioned, stepping away for only a moment before coming back with a tray full of items. "You'll need Chikorita's Pokeball of course, and a few extras to get you started, and we can't forget about potions just in case. And this here is your official Pokemon League dexture, ready to begin on your travels," he smiled, handing over the assortment of items to the new trainer.Thomas has received: Chickorita Lv. 5 HP- 40 Gender: Ability: Tackle- 20 Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage Exp 0/15 Unlimited Pokeballs Unlimited Potions Pokedex

Just recently it had been just a tad slow in traffic in the Johto Laboratory, the large influx of new trainers coming to receive their starters having depleted for some time. It wasn't an inconvenience by any means, giving the laboratory as a whole the time to for focusing on other things, but while that in itself was rewarding, there was nothing better to the good Professor of Johto than sending out a new trainer with the growing starter pokemon he had to care for in their time there, always pleased when an opportunity for just that came up. It seemed perhaps that today might be just the ticket as he was walking through his facility when he heard a knock on the main door from the outside. He smiled, tucking a set of clipboards and paper under one arm before moving towards the door, clicking the tumblers with the doorknob as he pulled it open. Standing on the other side was a strapping young man and two smaller Pokemon, an Umbreon and an Espeon as he had glanced down from his glasses. "Afternoon young man. I am the professor here, how can I help you today," he answered with a smile, stepping aside with a gentle sweep of his arm, gesturing for him to step inside if he would like.

Welcoming the young man into his laboratory, Elm stepped aside as he and the two Pokemon that he had with him took their time stepping inside as he closed the door behind them all. The two canine Pokemon were following closely, and the young man turned to introduce himself upon settling within the facility. "Ah, a starter Pokemon, well you've come to the right place," Elm replied, glancing to the two Pokemon at the mention that they too were elated at the thought of having another companion. It seemed the young trainer to be shared a relationship already with the two Pokemon that he had, so Elm could figure that this prospective trainer would be able to take great care in raising a new companion. "Have you thought on which Pokemon it was you were wanting to leave with? Here in Johto we offer the Grass type Chikorita, the Fire type Cyndaquil, or the Water type Totodile to all new trainers," he questioned, adjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose as he stood beside a well used and occupied desk.
