Parfum Palace

While the invaders were making their way to the obnoxiously Pumpkin structure a space opened up in the hedges. A little Zorua sat at the opening watching the people and Pokemon pass with barely contained amusement. They had been wandering for some time now and things were not going so well for them. The brightly colored Dark Type waved his paw at them, then ran off down the secret passage he had managed to open. The group had no reason to trust the thing but neither Sirene nor Dhelmise recognized the Pokemon if asked about him. At the very least, he wasn't a Labyrinth Guard. Following the summery little fox dumped them in a corridor inside of the castle! The trip might have been a little more graceful if the floor hadn't dropped into a sudden slant halfway through. Zorua found himself clinging to Piotr's head fins as he hadn't been ready for this sort of trap when he triggered it. Once the mess of two girls and a bunch of Pokemon sorted themselves out, Zorua sat at the end of the corridor on the group's right waiting for them still. Or, he would have been, if a Pangoro followed quickly by a Chespin (and anyone else who might chase a random Zorua in the maze) hadn't come charging toward him. Zorua yelped and scrambled to Hanako, hiding behind her legs while Marshall and Odyss rushed their quarry. Kintaro's Pangoro stopped short of taking a swing at Hanako--assuming he wasn't stopped by somebody else first--blinking incredulously at the small thing protecting the enemy. He grunted at Hanako, then growled at Zorua. He was gonna punch the thing. Flower miss had to move so he could punch it. Odyss decided to jump onto Marshall's arm and hang from it uselessly as though he could somehow stop a Pangoro at his current size. The boys and the rest of the Pokemon followed soon afterward and the corridor quickly became crowded. Kintaro started by recalling his Pangoro who bellowed his frustration when he was denied his wish to punch the Zorua. It was obviously involved in this place!

Once the group had worked out who was staying out to play and who was making room for the maze runners, Kintaro proceeded to wade his way through what was left over making a direct line further down the hall. He should have been more relieved to see his Pokemon and his friend again, but they still had one considerable problem. The Venusaur wasn't going to stop just because they escaped, and his Rotom was missing. The costumed Prince was making a beeline for the last place anyone reasonable wanted to be. He wasn't completely rude in his approach. "Anyone that is going to finish this come with me. I'm not leaving without my Pokemon." Alone or together, Kintaro took his Pokemon and followed the halls until he found his goal. A wide open court room with the Pumpkin Venusaur standing at the opposite end and facing an altar with two stones resting on it. One was a deep blue crystal that could be mistaken for Kyogre's Blue Orb from the Hoenn Region, if only it were larger. The other stone was a fragment of an Odd Keystone. The "eye" spot in the middle of the fragment was glowing, focused keenly on Venusaur while she attempted to regale him with her triumph over some humans and their Pokemon. The glow shifted to the group entering as Yvonne bellowed her superiority to her prisoners and her thanks to the mysterious owner of the Fragment. Beneath the pedestal Kintaro's Rotom was tied by thorny vines that were draining electricity from him and apparently powering whatever this ritual was doing. Yvonne's triumph died on her lips as the creature on the other end of the Keystone hissed its annoyance. "You call this 'taken care of'? Idiot Bulb! Dispatch your quarry! Or We will eliminate you!" The glow faded and the Keystone Fragment clattered onto the edge of the pedestal. Yvonne bellowed again, this time in rage, as she turned on the invading humans. "YOU! I thought I told you to stay out!" She snarled at the girls. Instead of attacking herself, however, she screeched an order to the Pokemon around her that seemed to materialize from the shadows. The Golurk that had been patrolling the maze earlier launched itself into the middle of the room with rockets in its feet and hands, staring blankly at the party invading its master's home. A Scyther followed shortly after, the discolored insect landed in a crouch wearing a collection of Duskull cloths as a cloak around its body. A Shuppet floated in last, swaying back and forth in the air as it watched the humans curiously (If Llorona stays, there are two Shuppets and not just one).

In the first round of attacks, aside from Yvonne screaming orders at her followers, each of the first wave of attackers are deflected. If Attica, Vervain, Scizor, Spade, or Deadeye try to attack, they will be blocked by a clash with Scyther. If Marshall, Odyss, Jade, Metagross, Dwebble, Sunset Shimmer, Pebbles, Zinnia, Piotr, or Harley try they will be thwarted with a strong resistance from Golurk. If Lapras, Lady, Dewgong, Tamara, Foongus, Weezing, Pui, Kiseki, Ember, Sage, or Mary try to attack their moves will be deflected by the Shuppet(s). On the following round everyone blocked by Scyther will be instead blocked--and battered--by Golurk. Each Pokemon Golurk blocked the first time will be blasted away by Shuppet(s). Everyone blocked by Shuppet(s) will get slashed at by Scyther and its lightning fast attacks! Yvonne's Guardians are making their last stand! Can you figure out their pattern? The Pokemon are free to attack at any time, but they will be taken out if they rush too often or go against the wrong Guardian! If you want to remove certain Pokemon from this fight, feel free to recall them for space or let them get knocked out in the first Defeat Round! Any Pokemon remaining after that can fail up to three times before they are defeated by the Pumpkin Guardians! Humans roll 1d10 per Pokemon participating in the fight to see if you figure out what's going on! Each die reading 7 or above is a success, if the result is 10 roll an extra 1d10 to see if your success explodes into more! 3 or more Successes reveals one Guardian's plan of attack! 7 total Successes between at least 3 cooperating trainers reveals the puzzle! Also, if one character manages to get 6 total successes in one round, they figure out the pattern on their own!
The exploding 10 result could, arguably, continue forever. If you manage to explode that many 10's, please stop at 6 Successes. Any more than that would be unnecessary. Good luck, everyone!

(Too much time between my own posts makes running this event like I planned unreasonable. Bringing everyone back together for one puzzle and then we will conclude the event. There will be some railroading, I apologize if you had other ideas or your characters would normally react differently. Sorry for the long delays and thanks so much for your patience everyone. If your character wants to leave before approaching the final puzzle, you are free to take the slide path. Flying Pokemon, Pokemon with Psychic powers, or sufficient strength and climbing ability can carry their trainers out. Message me with your decision, and I'll throw a couple of small encounters of your remaining claim Pokemon that were supposed to appear if you're on your way out. Fly is not required to fly out of the Labyrinth, but that does not mean you can Fly out of Parfum Palace and must still travel normally to your destination.)

[/font][/i]" Piotr called out as he continued after her although he knew she couldn't understand him, Harley still sitting on his shoulder as he bounded after her. It wasn't hard for the muscular Pokémon to catch up with the petite cyan haired girl. He was holding onto Foongus still, while Weezing was following along behind them. Tamara however seemed to trot after, lagging behind with her new friend Echo. Her running was quite a bit slower then her team mates, and looked more graceful and dance like. She listened to the chatter of Echo, reacting more so with his change in tone rather then what she could guess what the chatter meant. She nodded with a sad expression and reached out to slowly caressed the circular head, or eye, of the Pokémon gently to sooth him. Once the team of Pokémon stopped with Hanako to see the Zorua, Piotr began speaking to Hanako. "You should not run off in place like this. It is scary and dangerous-" He began to warn, as though she could understand, which Harley had no intentions of translating for the fuddy-duddy. But before he could finish his lesson, the trap was sprung as the ground dropped out from under them. Piotr let out a yelp as he tumbled down the now slanted floor, holding Foongus to his core to keep the little mushroom safe. Meanwhile Harley clung to Piotr as she screamed the entire way down. Back with Echo, Tamara reached out for the Beldum but wasn't fast enough to hold onto her new friend as she let out a single shriek as she slid. Weezing was the only one not to fall, from his group at least, and he let out gasp as everyone around him fell. He spun around quickly watching them all disappear with wide eyes. "Oh dear Arceus" he cursed as the ball of gas looked down, and began to sink down after everyone else. The Machamp let out an 'oof' as they hit the ground while Harley cheered loudly. If this was a stealth mission they were with the wrong Pokémon. Tamara crumpled on the ground in what looked like a very uncomfortable position with her dress splayed around her, while weezing floated down to rejoin the group. "Is everyone alright?" He asked looking around at the large group of Pokémon.

Meanwhile, Alec and Spade had made a run for it having not waited for Kintaro, Thomas, or the other Pokémon to be freed. Alec was ready to be reunited with his Pokémon and be done with this whole thing. Maybe smash a few pumpkin heads along the way. He continued forward with his knife in hand, and Spade at his side, but as he rounded a corner, the wall opened up and the two familiar girls and a large group of Pokémon poured out. Alec and the Roserade had to slide to a stop and stare for a moment. It really wasn't every day that the exact thing you were searching for just tumbled out of a wall. "That was easy..." Spade commented hesitantly. It bothered him just how convenient it was. They had been trapped here, so the fact they were so easily reunited bothered him. He began to think something brought them together for a reason. "Alec!" Harley shrieked as she spotted her trainer, and flew across the room and wrapped her arms and legs around the tall male's torso. The force of the tackle hug caused him to stumble backwards, especially since she was hugging around his arms. "Okay, I get it now get off." Alec told her in an annoyed tone, as he had to break free and forcibly pry her off of him. Alec moved over towards his Pokémon, and looked around towards the girls. "Hey, look at that, you made it without killing each other." He joking, unable to resist as he began to look over his Pokémon. There was only one way left to go however, and it was forward, and it seemed Kintaro was ready to take revenge. However it would seem he still had a missing Pokémon. Alec didn't know his team, or what he had left, so he had to piece that together himself. Kintaro stated he was going forward. Thomas then agreed that he wasn't leaving any one behind. "My gang is all here, but I'm up for a little revenge." Alec stated, agreeing to tag along. He had everything he needed, now he was going to get revenge on the beast that took him. Really show her for making him a damsel.

It didn't take them long before the group located the boisterous venusaur. Once in the area, Alec looked around and began to try and taking in the scenery. The venusaur was clear, but she also had a Rotom powering something, along side a glowing rock. A voice rang out, that he didn't recognize. Alec's scanned came to an abrupt halt as he heard Hanako attempting at shouting at the large pumpkin. He looked at her with confusion and disbelief at the poor attempt. However, Harley was ready to pile on. "Yeah! You fat ugly old gourd!" She shouted as a mallet appeared in her hands. Before the Medicham could charge their new opponents appeared. A Scyther, Golurk, and Shuppet. Alec returned his Foongus to free Piotr's hands. "Alright guys, we're all in." Alec called out to his Pokémon. His Pokémon were all ready to step in and fight, all but Weezing who did move forward but hesitantly. While Tamara remained back, and positioned herself behind a force field. One that she kept the back open of so those who weren't going to fight could join her. She remembered all to clearly the dangers of being a bystander when fighting the ultra beasts. It would be hard to forget a tree trunk to the torso. Alec's Pokémon were ready, Spade was first to move of his Pokémon raising forward. He actually went for the Golurk. He wasn't going to go for the Scyther, seeing that the flying type would be a bad idea, as well as the ghosts didn't strike him as a threat. He let out his vines out of his flowered hands, and began to whip them at the tall ghost. Whirling and flipping in the air as he continued his assault on the Pokémon. He tried to keep moving, and as an acrobat he did his best to stay nimble and keep attacking. Piotr however, set his eyes on the bladed Pokémon. The fast Pokémon would not be a good match, but he didn't want to battle the two ghosts, so he charged the scyther. He readied to swing a strong punch at the Pokémon, only for the large Golurk to intercept his punch. His super strength was no match for the ghostly statue as the Golurk took his Superpower charged punch. The muscular Pokémon stumbled backwards and away from the ghost. Harley also charged, screaming a battle cry as her mallet was raised over her head. She too charged the Scyther, thinking her speed could match his. She continued her cry as she charged, only to get stopped and thwarted by the Golurk as well, running face first into one of it's fists. Weezing tried to keep his distance, luckily for him, so he didn't end up like Harley or Piotr. He set his sights on one of the Shuppets. He could float around with them if needed, so he figured they would be a good target. He unleashed a dark pulse at the Pokémon, only to be thwarted by the ghost he was attacking it seemed. The ghost appeared to be much quicker then he was.

(Alright, first thing first: No more weird mechanical effects here. Going to throw things together and introduce a little more in a less-than-stellar presentation. Still gonna give the remaining Pokemon my best. DM me if you have any special requests. Mostly trusting you not to go totes cray-cray, but also asking to please collaborate if you're unsure of an action for any reason before you post. That is all. The Free Form Mayhem you have deserved to create for a while is now a go. XD)

The uppity little things slinging insults were not taken well. Yvonne snapped a handful of vines out in front of her in a display of intimidation! This fight was far from over, and she had only just begun to level her wrath at these intruders! "You won't be so pretty once my boys are through with you! Then we'll see where that mouth is, you rotten Cham!" The Venusaur bellowed ferociously. She stomped, the Shuppets aimed a blast at Harley, but their attack went way off when the room shook. Like the castle itself was coming to life! The clashes between Pokemon were loud and violent, each of Yvonne's Guardians managing to be fast and strong enough to take everyone that came their way. The Shuppets were able to manipulate the energy directed at them as if it were their own. Every ranged blast they imparted their will on never found their mark, sometimes even going back to the original source! Golurk didn't seem to know how to move from its designated defense zone. Even Metagross' heavy body barely scd the mighty golem's feet on the ground. Scyther was a whirlwind of blade strikes. Each of Yvonne's Guardians were able to take on the challenge of such a large fighting force and none of them showed any signs of tiring. The Guardian Scyther looked out from under the Reaper Cloth cloak it wore fixing Scizor with a sharp scowl. It didn't speak but the answer was clear, fighting was the only solution to this aggressive creature. Golurk, on the other hand, hesitated after swatting Attica away...again. Kintaro's Bisharp was struggling to remain standing but furiously went against a clearly bad match. Golurk slapped down the metal menace causing her to bounce off of the ground, followed by another broad slap that hurled her back toward Kintaro and the other humans. Jade wasn't faring much better, going after Golurk as well just to prove she was better than the one that had beaten her before. Golurk was not sure what to do with all this aggro. The Shuppets appeared to be making a game out of their deflections, only one of them shuddering against Ember's Confusion before the other reinforced its partner and snapped them free of the Gardevoir's influence.

Scyther managed to avoid attacks meant for him, dancing and dodging and leaving behind Double Team duplicates letting Harley think she had scored a hit before the after-image faded and Golurk delivered a punch. Piotr's attempt was thwarted in a less dignified manner. Scyther weaved inside of the Machamp's strike zone and disappeared before landing a counter attack on him. While Piotr was left trying to figure out why he wasn't attacked Scyther completed its "attack" by swatting one large blade against the muscle Pokemon's backside before he dashed back to his start position. Besides Scizor's attempt to speak to it, Scyther didn't exactly feel challenged on this second wave. He felt like no one was aiming for him in the third even as his two companions were taken down. Scythe-like blades clinked while Scyther readied for the next round of attacks. It couldn't block everyone--and some of them would hurt it--it didn't like its odds here.

With all the chaos it was not easy to tell that some things had been going in their favor except maybe for those who succeeded. While Golurk had managed to intercept Metagross' Rock Slide, Spade's attack made Golurk stumble. Spade had successfully dealt damage to one of the defenders! Golurk staggered after one stroke came too close to its face. It was an artificial Pokemon but that didn't make it less afraid of losing an eye! Going down to one knee, Golurk was left unable to block an attack!

The Shuppets had to jump to deflect Thunder from Dwebble, only just missing Scyther when normally they were able to completely nullify attacks. Deadeye's Leafage attack flew through as a result of the Shuppets' distraction, Leafage staggered the Shuppets! They are unable to defend!

The rumbling of the castle was periodic throughout the battle, the only thing making it any concern was how upset the Venusaur was getting. "What is that RACKET!?" Bellowed the Venusaur furiously, not sure what in her castle was capable of so much mayhem. As if summoned by the Pumpkin Princess a Mega Aerodactyl thundered its pained cry, muffled by the wall until it came crashing through! "WHAT! WHO LET YOU OUT OF YOUR CAGE!?" Shrieked the Princess, trying to lash Aerodactyl with her vines. Aerodactyl swatted vine after vine and moved so that she had more trouble taking aim. Aerodactyl was angry and in pain and this was no longer a prison. It was a target-rich environment. Aerodactyl swept down and bowled over the Guardians in one pass, then came back around to strike as many of the Venusaur's invaders as it could in the next! This monster was out of control! It wheeled around again, crushing through a pillar with its oversized and heavy wingspan. It hovered in the air before it locked onto a single target. It hadn't known Mightyena to transform into humans before. That could be a tasty thing! Aerodactyl shrilled its intention to feast, swooping low overhead to scare any would-be defenders on its way to its intended target. Llorona was surrounded--for all the good that would do--by her Pokemon and Aerodactyl showed no signs it cared what might get in its way. It wanted that human-shaped Mightyena! Food always made the pain less!

((If you would be so kind as to inexplicably be helpless in the face of a random, wild Mega Aerodactyl; this is a fight for Llorona to take. Aerodactyl's sweeping strokes are intimidation tactics trying to isolate prey and keep the strong things on the defensive. Please bear this in mind when accounting for Mega Aerodactyl.))

[/font]with me yourself you coward![/b][/i]" The Medicham shouted, however her shouts turned to shrieks as she ducked behind the handle of her mallet, granting her no protection, from the shadow balls. She lucked out as the castle shook, the shadow balls missed her. Alec and Tamara were the only ones to react to the shuttering, at least from his group, and looked for a location. Alec did not want to be round if some monstrous beast came out on her behalf. After getting no where with the Venusaur, she turned her attention onto the Scyther again. She wielded her mallet and began wilding swinging and slamming it down on the grass time, but it was to fast. However she finally managed to track it down, and slammed it down hard on it's head, bringing it down to the ground in one sweeping motion. "HA-Huh?" She began to cheer but as she looked down there was nothing under her mallet. She lifted her Mallet to look and see if there was any bug guts under it, and missed the in coming attack. The punch sent the petite Medicham sailing through the air screaming at the top of her lungs. Alec had to duck to avoid the Medicham as she flung past him, and he looked back to the Pokémon. "...You good?" Alec asked her almost awkwardly, only to get a weak "Yeeeeah…" as a response from his Pokémon who remained face down on the ground. She said she was good, so Alec turn his attention back to the battle. Piotr also had been doing poorly. His blow missed against the Scyther, and when it struck back the Machamp was left pulling his multiple arms in tight to protect himself... But nothing happened. He peeked out behind his fist and was struck in the back with the blade. He let out a cry of pain as he dropped to one knee. Alec could see he had taken a strong blow, but he was still vertical so he would still be in the battle. Spade was the only one making some good progress, avoiding any attacks and striking the Golurk at any change he could. It would seem one of his blows got the golem in the face, and dropped him. "Anyone could join in at Any time!" He panted at the other Pokémon. He was fit, however doing all of the jumping, dodging and whipping he was doing was getting tiring. Spade began to move back and away from the Golurk. His Pokémon were about to jump right into action when Kintaro chimed in.

He seemed to have figured it out already, and had an attack plan. Alec gave him a look of disbelief at first. Why did he think he had it all figured out already, and should be spending all of these Pokémon out just at his word. However, he looked at the guarding Pokémon again, and realized it didn't exactly matter if he were right, if they all attacked at the same time, the guardians would be over whelmed. "Alright, listen to the Poindexter. Piotr keep at that Scyther, Spade you got that Golurk, Weezing light the sheets on fire if you have to." Alec called out. His Pokémon went to respond as fast as they could. Piotr struggled back to his feet, he could feel a bit of blood tricking on his back, but it was a very clean slice so he knew and could feel that it was nothing too bloody or serious. He charged the Scyther again, only this time he began throwing less controlled but much faster lightning speed punches with his four mighty fists. While Spade switched too his nifty trick, Stone Edge, but out of his flowers. His petals turned to stone as he began hurling the very sharp stones at the golem's face, which Spade realized was a weak spot. While Weezing began to use fire blast on the ghosts, trying to blast one or the other. "Tamara, Just keep standing there doing nothing," He called out to her, trying to get her to do something besides standing behind her shield but she merely nodded to him and bat her eyelashes at him. Harley how ever rose to her feet. "Screw this!" She called out. She could see Kintaro making his way with Marshall as she charged with her mallet over head. She sprinted across the field, and ran yup the large sized Golem, and used it's head to jump off and get airborne to strike the venusaur. However her air assault was short lived. Right as she got a foot away from the Golurk, a vine smacked right into her, easily flicking her backwards. She screamed loudly, as she soared through the air.

However, the chaos had only begun as an aerodactyl erupted from the ground and began attacking the Venusaur. However it turned it's attention to the group. With how it was reacting with Yvonne and how she mentioned it was caged... This seemed to be a feral mega Aerodactyl which is very bad for this situation. The Pokémon began dive bombing and getting a feel for the group. It seemed to miss Piotr and Weezing. However Alec was forced to dive to the ground in a roll to avoid being swept up. As did Tamara. She learned from the last sweeping attack with Buzzwole that her barriers weren't fool proof. She also dropped to the ground, however she crumped to the ground almost like if you let go of the strings of a marionette, and she laid there as the flying fossil flew over head. Alec laid flat on his stomach, trying to avoid getting hit, and looked around at the pandemonium. The fossil clearly decided to target Llorona, which was not a good thing. She clearly didn't have what it took to take on a mega Pokémon, but what was he to do? His strongest Pokémon were already locked in battle. Hunting had abandoned them, his Tyrantrum would make things worse... The best he could hope for was to fling a Muk at it, and hope it stuck. She would have to be on her own. She was hot, but with her attitude it wouldn't be too much of a loss.

Aerodactyl raked its talons and screamed furious triumph. It could almost taste the Mightyena! Atlas' ball fell as Llorona took her chance. Aerodactyl hadn't been in its Mega Form for long--lucky for her--and misjudged the timing to snatch her in its wicked talons. Even as it raked its feet downward, Llorona's Hitmonchan erupted from his ball as if summoned by her silent plea. One gloved fist connected with the open foot, halting Aerodactyl's momentum and allowing Llorona to slide past without any further harm. Aerodactyl took a sharp strike to its underbelly before Atlas was grabbed and flipped twice in the air. Aerodactyl released sending the Hitmonchan sailing into the rubble near Llorona where Pebbles was stuck. Aerodactyl swooped in and missed the rubble pile narrowly. "HUNGRY!" The ancient beast screeched, coming around for another attack with its wings splayed wide and its jaws wide open this time. Aerodactyl wanted to eat the Mightyena and the talons missed before! It'll just have to eat Llorona and whatever else is near her! (You can do what you like with Aerodactyl from here. If you'd like me to keep controlling it just let me know.)

Golurk was not loving the attacks on its face. It swung wildly now, shielding its face with one arm and trying to swat annoying Roserades with the other. It spun around once when Ember grabbed onto it and Harley jumped off its head. Golurk swung out at Spade, flailing Ember along with it. It looked up to Harley being thrown back and caught sight of Ember's plan. Its eyes widened as it had not thought Aerodactyl was coming back this way! As Yvonne shouted at her guardian Golurk to protect her it grabbed the panel on its chest. Expired Candy spilled out of Golurk's body while it grabbed its glowing core from its chest. It looked down to Ember, then at the illusion Aerodactyl. It squeezed its core between its hands, then thrust its arm at the illusion. The missed swing made Golurk stumble forward, smashing its core into the ground before Explosion rocked the battlefield! The dust settled gradually to show Golurk had blown itself up but its core remained intact. Golurk had survived its defeat--in spite of its best efforts--and now lay unconscious in rubble and surrounded by everyone else that was taken out by Explosion.

Scyther seemed to be having fun with Piotr, tormenting the Machamp with quick evades even against his impressive might and muscled speed. Scyther swung around trying to knock Zinnia away, narrowly missing Hanako's Frogadier and giving Piotr the room to take away some of Scyther's speed advantage with blow after blow. Scyther moved to avoid Piotr but the great big Frogadier it now had to wear for a mask even as it tried prying him off. Scythe arms did not make good grappling appendages! Without the ability to see, Scyther stumbled into Golurk's range when its core hit the ground, exposing Piotr and Zinnia to the aftermath of Explosion as well unless they happened to notice and tried to run for it. Exploding Golurk knocked Scyther down, leaving it struggling to stand again with its back burnt from the damage.

The Shuppets were struggling to keep up with the sudden influx of attacks. They were good at what they did but they were still just a couple of young Shuppets. They were not taking this assault well. Between Weezing and Sage they had plenty of trouble. Mary made it that much harder. They could have handled two on two a bit better but three on two was too much for the Shuppets. Each one managed to dodge one attack and got hit by the third. Attacks that hit them both were harder to deflect and left them vulnerable to follow-up strikes from the three. Mary yowled furiously at the pair, apparently blaming them for the Unown turning her into a Shinx again. Mary did not appreciate being a little baby again and she was letting everyone know!

Yvonne bellowed at Aerodactyl to leave her prizes alone. She opened her mouth to order the guardians to fight harder when she saw Thomas' Gardevoir call his Pokemon back. "Wha--NO!" She snarled, slinging vines at the pair. They smashed into the ground where Thomas and Lady stood just a moment ago. "MY PRINCES!" She wailed like a child who had her favorite toys stolen. The Venusaur's temper tantrum shook the castle, making everyone stagger and stumble while her vines slammed the ground around her. Her gaze locked onto Kintaro and Marshall who had got up after Aerodactyl was intercepted and came running at her. "NO YOU DON'T MY LITTLE FROG PRINCE!" She bellowed, converging the mass of vines on Pangoro and his trainer. It was a hail of damage that Marshall had no way to defend against!

Life was strange. Sometimes it was a happy, joyous thing. Sometimes you spent with the humans and fellow Pokemon that you knew and loved. Sometimes you went on adventures and laughed and played, and generally got up to some distasteful fun. Sometimes you got up too much fun. Sometimes the human you were supposed to protect died because you were too busy having fun. And then sometimes the human you were having fun with hated you for that mistake. Trapped you in a cage. In darkness. Sometimes, in that darkness that seemed to last forever, you wished you could just die. Sometimes. Atlas could not remember how long he had been inside that ball. The capsule designed by the late Master Braithwaite just for him. Designed to keep him focused and calm in its dark and near-silent depths. Pokeballs were a strange phenomenon. Humans could never understand what it was like to be inside one. The rules worked differently in there. He hadn't been outside in... A long time. Years to be sure. And yet he had not died of starvation because Pokeballs were strange like that. No, The Hitmonchan named Atlas, protector of the corporate juggernaut, bodyguard and best friend of both father and daughter was not dead. But sometimes, in the dark with nothing to do but replay the same day where you failed to protect your master because you decided to entertain the whims of a teenage girl - he wished that he could die. Wished he could simply cease to exist. Because why not? He would never serve another purpose again. The look in Miss Braithwaite's eyes had told him that before he vanished into the depths of that ball. He had failed and it was not her fault, but his own. For neglecting the duty he was sworn to, to spend some time with a human girl who'd had a bad day. Instead of tailing his master on some shifty business as he should have. Atlas pondered that day ad infinitum in the depths of the Pokeball. The things he could - should have done differently. And the things he wished he could say, that wouldn't make a bit of difference. Strangely, he had not been pondering when the world around him changed after what felt like an eternity. He had been tired, sleeping, resting for the next session of pondering his mistakes when suddenly the world as he had come to know it shattered. One moment, darkness, quiet. He could almost have sworn he heard commotion outside of his ball - but this ball was special. Designed to help him meditate and focus. But that was far away. Master Briathewaite never skimped on quality. The next moment he was released from his quiet prison and the world he arrived to was so bright he could barely keep his eyes open, so loud he couldn't hear his own first panicked thoughts. But he saw the Talon. He knew it was there, and his entire life had trained him for moments just like this. Atlas did not need to know what was happening, didn't need to understand anything. Muscle memory was everything to a Hitmonchan.

Llorona's eyes filled with just the barest hint of tears, a result of the rugged terrain scratching at her exposed legs as she slid rather nicely beneath the Aerodactyl. It had been a good slide. Her friends back in high school would have applauded it had they been playing softball. She should have been safe. But one glance at the talons ahead of her told her all that she needed to know. She was going to be grabbed. She had failed. Then the Glove lashed out and knocked the massive claws reaching for her astray, her body sliding beneath them harmlessly as she cringed and rolled on instinct, coming to a painful stop near the debris that Pebbles was trapped in. She had come to save the Roggenrola but her eyes caught sight of the next punch to the midsection of the beast that was many times larger than its new opponent. And her world stopped when she saw him. There was only one word to describe the feeling that came over her in that moment when She saw the ragged scarf of her father's Hitmonchan flowing in the wind. Even when he was swept up and tumbled, tossed towards her. But it wasn't fear, or shame, or any of the terrible things she expected. Sure, Llorona felt all of those things for a nano-second but when her eyes actually saw him, took him in - All of them were washed away by one feeling that dominated everything. Safe. She felt safe. Atlas corrected his mid-air tumble and landed facing the creature, feet skidding across the floor until he came to a stop beside her with both gloves raised. He looked so... Sickly. So pale. 'Starving'. She thought. watching as he seemed to shake with the effort it took to remain poised. He was starving. Then he seemed to relax just a bit, turning his mask-like face towards her. The pair stared at each other silently. Even while the others were fighting for their lives, they just stared. This moment needed to pass. "Lady Braithwaite." He said eventually, a small, sad smile on his face as her lips parted but no retort emerged. The green-eyed woman with the mechanical tail who was having a miserable day to end all days just kept opening and closing her mouth. Then the Golurk exploded. Quick as a flash he was standing over her, form bent low - they weren't in any danger from here, a few harmless flecks of debris bouncing off of his back. But that was all that needed to happen for her to know he did not hate her for what she had done. No more words were required, for the moment anyway. Reaching up, the younger of the Braithwaite siblings gently patted his head, and he smiled again, this time wide and true. She had missed that smile. "I have work to do." he stated calmly, forcing himself not to wince as he stood and turned his head back to face the returning Aerodactyl. His pain could wait until this was all over. He did not know what in the nine hells was happening, or how this situation had come to pass. But he did know there was a massive rock monster trying to eat Llorona. And that was not going to happen.

Deadeye lay half dazed on the floor after attempting to swoop in and save Llorona with a strike to the creature's eyes. It had been too big. Too big and too fast. And the Golurk's explosion hadn't done his plan any favors either. In the end, he had been swatted aside like a fly, much like so many of the others fighting his never-ending battle. But much like the others, he wasn't about to stay down either. The little Rowlet hopped to his feet and saw a new stranger standing beside Llorona. No, he was standing OVER Llorona, his body language reading that of a protector. Then the Owl saw the empty, prestigious ball on the floor and was able to put everything together. 'So that's the one.' He thought. Deadeye saw the gentle exchange between the two and ed his head to the side curiously. So she didn't hate ALL pokemon. Not this one. But why? Was it because it was human-shaped? The Rowlet had never seen one like this. It almost passed for human. Maybe it was the scarf that she liked. While he pondered this absently, The Hitmonchan turned fully from its trainer and set upon the Angry rock monster, occasionally slapping his gloved fists together while he advanced at a slow walk. The small Pokemon was going to get himself killed. That was what Deadeye thought. Until his fists started swirling with a blue-hued light that caused Atlas's breath to hang in the air.

Atlas had considered a response to the Single word roared by the Aerodactyl, but decided against it in the end. This creature was in pain. It was angry and it was in pain. He felt for it, truly if anyone could sympathize with the raging monstrosity it was him. The Hitmonchan was shocked he was even able to remain upright- now that the initial shock of freedom and seeing his trainer was fading he knew just how tired and hungry he was. But that needed to be brushed aside so that this could be dealt with. As the creature zeroed in, not on him- but still on his trainer, Atlas crouched and launched himself upward, The snapping Jaw of the creature threatening to break him into so much gore and splinters. Except Atlas was faster, throwing one Ice covered fist into the creature's nose that immediately began to grow and expand over the upper jaw of the Aerodactyl. The momentum of the creature carried Atlas quite literally into it's waiting jaws, but another ice punch to the inside of its mouth caused even more ice to form, the now screaming beast trying to close snap its prey only to find its jaw frozen open. This wouldn't last. Atlas knew that his gloved hands pressing against the roof of his would-be killer's mouth while he planted his feet as best he could amongst the slippery, saliva laden jaw. He just needed to keep it from closing its mouth until he could charge his fists again. That should have been instantaneous but he was so... So tired. And becoming more so by the second.

(I can finish this whenever. Just figured Since Llorona isn't engaging the Venasaur I'd still give her something to do for the moment).

Hanako Lucali

Hanako's plan had...kind of worked? Two of the Guardians had been taken out- which was good...but so had most of her team. The only thing that had kept her from getting caught in the explosion was Odyss's sudden evolution. She had stumbled back and fallen on her rear when Odyss had evolved. Her top was a mess. Had she not been so focused on her Pokemon she might have thought to try covering herself. The condition of her costume was a problem for later though. As soon as she was back on her feet, Hana ran to her Pokemon. Zinnia had been thrown from Scyther and was sprawled out on the floor, bruised and unconscious. The Frogadier was not getting back up any time soon. Hanako cradled her little frog against herself as she went to check on the little group that had made up the second Aerodactyl. Citrine was incredibly lucky. She had also been knocked out but she was been knocked away from Echo- which saved her from being crushed under the weight of the heavy metal Pokemon. Hanako didn't even try to pick Echo up. She knew he was much too heavy for her to lift. Citrine was placed on top of the whining Beldum. They would be safer together. "Shhh...Easy, precious. I'm right here. You did great." She whispered to the Beldum. The poor thing struggled to get himself back up in the air for all of three seconds before deciding to remain on the ground. He needed to rest. While she was tending to her Pokemon, the Zorua was unceremoniously dropped into her lap by the Sirene. His fur was singed, appearing almost black in some places due to a mix of burned fur and dirt. "Thank you." She smiled up at the Sirene, who just shrugged in response. Her focus was on the unruly pumpkin princess and the group trying to bring her down. Ember had been the only one of Hanako's team in range of the explosion to make it out unscathed. He had teleported away when the "Aerodactyl" was within range. That had been the only thing that had saved him. Returning to his trainer was something he briefly considered but he was still capable of fighting. Leaving the battle would not sit well with him. Maybe he could Teleport up there and help...? One look at the much larger Pokemon that were attacking the pumpkin was enough to make him reconsider. Instead he decided to grab the first rock he could find and toss it at the Venusaur's pumpkin. It was probably every bit as effective as he felt like it was but...he was trying to help! He frowned and crossed his arms, choosing to watch the chaos until he saw an opening to try to be useful.

Llorona Braithwaite

Llorona had little doubt that, even against something as monstrous as this Aerodactyl - Atlas would have had much trouble had he been in peak form. Sure, she was biased, knowing the Pokemon as a knight in shining armor from her childhood but even still, he was strong and she knew that. "He's not going to win." She murmured, her brain finally working again now that she had a focus for it. There was absolutely no way that she was going to let this thing eat her Hitmonchan after finally seeing him again. Her first instinct was to start throwing rocks, as stupid as the idea was - eyes swiveling around while the Aerodactyl landed and began to shake it's head around like an angry dog trying to rip apart a chew toy. It was trying to break the ice or throw the Hitomchan out. Either would be bad. For a moment she actually stopped to look to the others for support. It seemed as though they had been completely isolated to deal with the gigantic rock creature alone. "It isn't their fault, get a grip!" She snapped at herself, seeing just how badly off the others were. Those that were still standing were finally engaging the source of all of this chaos and she doubted she would get help even if she asked for it.

After a moment of consideration, Llorona reached towards her belt frantically, trying to decide which of her Pokemon would actually even have a chance of distracting this thing long enough for Atlas to do something about the situation he was in. Just as she had plucked the ball containing sunset and prepared to throw it, a blur of green shot past her. And then another, and another. "I don't have anything heroic to say!!" Deadeye screeched from his place upon some rubble, firing Leafage in rapid succession at the Mega Aerodactyl. Most of them simply bounced off of the hardened face of the creature, but one of them actually managed to score a hit a little too close to the eye for comfort, the creature howling angrily as Atlas finally came tumbling out of its still open and very frozen maw. The Hitmonchan hit the ground with a wet smacking sound as a result of the spittle and saliva accompanied with being trapped in the mouth of a large animal, and with much less grace than he had the first time he'd been tossed away. He was just about spent and she knew it. The then the creature locked eyes with her again and began to flex it's jaw, the ice cracking until it splintered and the Aerodactyl's mouth closed with a sickening crunch that seemed to actually surprise even the beast itself. Her eye twitching, the woman dropped the ball she had been holding and scrambled to right Pebbles who immediately shook itself off and began firing rock blasts at the creature. "It's still coming." Pebbles said calmly even when Sunset bellowed majestically and began spraying ember all over the charging beast. It wasn't taking to the air anymore, it was simply charging them with all the awkwardness of a limping bull. She didn't know why, but somehow seeing it lumber over the ground was even more unsettling. "Atlas! Help!" She screamed as it drew close, more out of fear than anything else. Shockingly, however, the Hitmonchan appeared almost the moment the words left her lips, darting past her and sliding thanks to the now slick material under his feet, slipping right under the beast and letting out a warcry that proceeded the very same uppercut she'd seem the Pokemon land all those years ago against an opponent she could hardly recall now. The beast's head snapped up and it actually tumbled backward, Atlas's feet touching the floor before the poor Hitmonchan fell to a knee and began to cradle the arm he'd used to deliver the devastating blow.

Pebbles, Sunset, and Deadeye all seemed to be in sync as Llorona drew closer to Atlas, placing her hand on his shoulder and frowning. "Are you..?" She trailed off, watching the three undersized Pokemon take a loose formation between herself and the Aerodactyl who presently was squirming around and snapping its jaws like a turtle who'd forgotten how to roll over. "I believe we have just won the day." Pebbles stated, again in that ever calm voice. Both Deadeye and Sunset both turned to look skeptically at the little Rock-type who only shrugged as best a Roggenrola could before nodding over towards the Venasaur. Or, what had been a Venasaur anyway. The ground itself was shifting as was everything else, causing the group to collectively lose its metaphorical shit a moment though it seemed clear that this situation wasn't actually slipping further into the rabbit hole than it had already been. Within what felt like only moments, everything was more or less as it had been before things had gone to hell. Then the Aerodactyl finally rolled over and seemed to shake itself off. "Well, it was a pleasure knowing you gentlemen." Sunset brayed, stamping it's hoofs and preparing another ember that would most likely be as effective as his first before the entire group all seemed to notice something at the same time. "Is it just me, or is he slightly smaller than he was before?" Pebbles inquired, noting that a lot of the menacing features of the creature had all but vanished. "Maybe Atlas hit him so hard he de-evo-lutionized or something!" Deadeye offered, drawing looks from not only Sunset and Pebbles, but a grunt of half pain from Atlas who was still kneeling and holding his arm. "Doubt that very much. Appreciate that compliment though." Atlas groaned and forced himself to stand. If the Aerodactyl wasn't finished, then neither was he. No sooner had the creature finally finished shaking itself off, again, in a manner becoming that of a massive winged puppy, and turned to face them, then Llorona took off towards it. The look in her eyes, that only the Aerodactyl could see at that moment, was pure, manic, insanity.  Llorona was so focused on what she assumed was a suicide rush that the woman didn't even seem to notice that the Aerodactyl actually yelped in fear. She yelled the entire way like a woman possessed, screaming as she jumped towards the thing with a ball outstretched. "Pig pile!" All at once the ball consumed the creature and Llorona jumped atop it like a solider prepared to make the sacrifice to stop a grenade, her body coiling around it. Pebbles, Sunset, and Deadeye simply watched in utter confusion- only to flinch when Atlas chuckled behind them and half limped over, falling over the top of his trainer and the still wiggling ball. One by one, the others, not understanding why in the least, ran over and lay atop both trainer and Hitmonchan, except Pebbles who sort of just leaned against the woman quickly going red in the face from the pressure of her team on top of her.

After passing through the fourth shade of color Pebbles could identify as the stages of suffocation, Llorona spoke, releasing the last of the air in her lungs. "Okay- okay! get off!" Awkwardly, Sunset managed to stand while Deadeye simply remained perched on his head. Atlas used his good arm to push himself up before offering the same outstretched glove to assist Llorona. The woman rolled onto her back and took several desperate lung fulls of air, her hair catching every piece of debris on the ground she lay upon when the woman turned her gaze level with the ground to spy the ball containing the Aerodactyl. It was not moving. "Pig pile." He stated simply, only to the have the woman take his offered glove and pull herself to her feet with an embarrassed look. "Pig pile." She responded, Deadeye swooping down and retrieving the ball only to drop it down to Llorona's waiting hand before he shot back off towards Hanako and the other trainers, all of which appeared to be gathering themselves post ordeal. She stared at the ball only a moment, clipping it to her belt and looking at Atlas sheepishly. "I um..." She started, the tired Hitmonchan leaning in and wrapping his one working arm around the human in a soft hug. He said nothing else, and the woman began to sob into his shoulder.
