 Leader ViolaViola was proud of her little Surskit. She single handedly helpped take down that Scyther. The Surskit twirled around happily. Viola watched Thomas think his next move over. It was something she noticed he was good at. He was calculative. However, she would have next expected his decision. Her mouth fell open as she saw the large super computer emerge. She was so surprised that she didn't even take a picture. But the battle went from zero to sixty and the Metagross began to move and attack. She jumped into gear, just as her Surskit did. "Move! Keep dodging Surskit!" Viola called out quickly. She watched as the Metagross invaded and began to chase her little bug. "When you have a chance, use bug bite!" She called out. The Surskit slid around the field, desperately trying to dodge the massive super computer. She quickly spun around and began to skid up the side of the computer and then latched onto the Metagross' head, biting down to the best of it's ability.[Surskit used Bug Bite!]

Metagross barely seemed to feel the bite, but knew that this presented him with the perfect opportunity. "Hit it hard!" Thomas shouted. Metagross bucked Surskit off of it's head, slamming into it before it could even land on the ground. "That's what I'm talking about!" Surskit went flying into the wall behind Viola like a rocket. When it landed, it's eyes were swirling.
"Alright, Metagross. You did great. Come hang out over here." Metagross floated over, resting just beside Thomas. "Go, Metapod!" He sent out his second Bug-Type Pokemon.

Leader ViolaSurskit did the best she could to bite down and hold onto the Metagross and do the most damage she could. However that's where her advantage was nullified. The Metagross slammed one of it's large legs into the bug and sent it flying. Viola gasped, and whipped out her Pokeball. Surskit had already hit the wall, but Viola managed to return the Surskit before it hit the ground. Viola pulled out a Pokeball just as the challenger let out a metapod. Viola let out her Vivillon, and looked down at the caccoon with narrow eyes, then looked to Thomas. What was he planning? He clearly had most of his turns well thought out. Viola didn't want to take any chances. "Vivillon, let's play it safe. Thomas had a feeling something like this would happen. She was devious and cunning. He had no doubt that she expected to see a devastated expression on his face, but he was going to disappoint by grinning devilishly instead. He had used Metapod as cannon-fodder, a distraction so that he could use a potion on Metagross. At this point, he was looking forward to the moment she got y and finished off Metapod, thinking she was closer and closer to victory. "This is quite an amusing battle. I hope you're taking pictures of me wiping the floor with you." He was sure of his victory now, and teasing her was an entertainment he hadn't anticipated. Metapod slept on, but that was fine. She gave her powerful Metagross a second Potion.

It really hadn't hit him until she mentioned disinfectant that Copper stomach lurched a little, knowing how dust that vent was, how rank the ballroom smelled. He couldn't very well see how filthy things were, but he could imagine well enough, and hoped that nothing for him or Cassio was going to get infected. "I'm going to start on your left arm, if you could hold up your sleeve please," Nurse Joy started as she came towards him, a cloth in one hand and a bottle in the other, and as soon as she just barely touched the cap, Copper could smell the over powering scent of the alcohol. He obliged and reached for his sleeve, gritting his teeth at the muscles and bruises pulling at his shoulders, lifting it up as the nurse wet the cloth just slightly. He assumed that no warnings of "this might sting" or "this will only hurt a little" came because they weren't children, but it still would have been nice as she applied the alcohol to the first sc. Copper seethed as he flinched away only from natural reaction, gritting his teeth again as he took in a few sharp breaths. Still on some kind of almost conscious alert, Cassio looked up from his place on the ground, a low growl coming through his jowls. "No, it's okay Cassio, I'm alright," Copper spoke after a moment, trying to calm the poor dog down. It took just a little bit of time, the nurse was being very thorough on cleaning each cut and applying bandages where needed, and while he thanked the nurse for her help, Copper still gritted his teeth as it felt like every inch of his skin was stinging and burning. The nurse had moved to Ridley's side of the room as Copper and Cassio were approached by a rather round looking Pokemon with long pointed ears. All Copper could hear were the Pokemon's natural sounds, but he knew by now that it was speaking to Cassio. "Do you think you could make it up on to the bed," she asked softly, looking down to Cassio on the floor. The dog looked up at her bitterly, biting back a snarl. Never once has he been in such a state of weakness that those around him felt it necessary to pity him, to think so little of his capabilities. He was supposed to be Copper's guardian, his strength, he was supposed to be able to not only carry himself but take care of Copper, and lately he's felt as though he couldn't do that. And if he couldn't do his one job, be there when Copper needed him to keep him safe, then what good was he? "Cassio, please, they are only trying to help, you need to be taken care of," Copper asked of his companion down beside him, looking down to his hunched and wounded figure. The Jolteon glanced from the Wigglytuff to Copper, then back to the normal type nurse before gritting his fangs and starting, struggling, to move from his place on the ground. His legs lightly trembled and his paws ached as he began to put his weight on them, slowly standing on his four legs. His fur bristled as he stood as straight as he could before turning towards the bed, a whimper escaping his resolve. Cassio lifted one fore paw up onto the bed, then the other, but his hind legs trembled at knowing the exertion that one small hop was going to take. Copper watched this, tears starting to sting at his eyes, and just as he was moving to help Cassio in his pain, the dog jumped with a yelp, freezing instantly on the bed beside Copper. Copper could hear Ridley being helped on the other side of the curtain as he sat with Cassio, stroking the dog's fur to keep him calm while the Wigglytuff worked on him. He had cuts and scs too that bled through his fur and needed to be disinfected, and his paws were so tender from splinters and shards of glass that he had stepped on. His fur was riddled with debris, and his legs were stiff with swolen muscle, but over all, nothing life threatening. The Nurse Joy administered pain medication and offered them the room for some necessary rest, and offered to clean any clothes and items that might have gotten wet or dirty. Doing as much as she could for some of the trainers who saved her relative from New Tork, Nurse Joy offered her services for the rest of their stay. With a final note that their Pokemon were being tended to, Copper and Ridley were left alone. In the silence, Copper laid down on the bed with a grunt and a groan from his entirely bruised back, Cassio laying over his chest, his head rested just under his chin. He heard a soft click, unbeknownst to him the lights going out, then nothing but Cassio's steady, shallow breathing, and Ridley's breathing to the side. In his own darkness, Copper was struggling in the seclusion, being left to his own thoughts now. The nights events were playing over him, he could hear screams and cries, could feel that ghost's hands clawing up his body, he could see Ostinato there, bloody and broken. Now he was understanding the full weight of what that night was really going to do to him, how hard it was going to be to cope with, but as he was starting to tremble and shake, he started at the sudden sound of Ridley's voice. It took him a moment to process the few words she spoke, trying to understand the relevance, trying to get his pulse to slow down, but she repeated herself a little clearer, telling him that they sky was blue. The question he'd asked earlier, she was answering him now about what else was blue, and he almost smiled. She was being sincere for now, out of the few times that he had seen just recently, and that's when he realized. He might have nightmares, and he might hear or see things now, but he wasn't alone. Ridley saw and experienced everything he did, he wasn't going to have to cope with it alone, or at least he hoped? It was surreal to him, the first time he met her, he wanted nothing more than to pry himself off of her arm and never see her again, but now he found himself kind of hoping to see her when he woke up net. He didn't want to deal with this by himself, and maybe someday soon he wouldn't be afraid to, but would she be around until then? He supposed he couldn't count on that since she seemed to always have somewhere to go or something to do. For now though, he would listen to her sincere enough words about what else in the world was blue. Though as she brought up Abban, and what he had done, Copper's breath hitched at the pain that he remembered, the horrible image he had seen, if that's what came with sight, then he wanted no part of it. "We'll see...," he trailed off, before leaving Ridley to silence so they could attempt to rest. It had been late morning by the time Ridley and Copper had gotten settled at the Pokemon Center, and they'd spent the rest of the day and night there about the center to recover as best they could. Copper and Cassio would wake every few hours from nightmares, needing to use each other for comfort so as not to wake Ridley as she slept. They would sit together for a while, got dressed once as Nurse Joy had left Copper's and Ridley's belongings in the room for them, attempted to eat here and there whenever they woke, and then would try sleep again. This went on until he was too exhausted by that night to forgo sleep, so Copper's body force him asleep for the night and into the next morning. Copper woke with a start, as he had come to figure was probably going to be the norm for a while, gripping Cassio who was rested on top of him as his pale blue eyes shot open. In his state of panic he could feel those cold ghostly hands climbing their way up his body before Cassio shifted, licking his face to make him come to. Copper took in a sharp breath before he settled on the bed finally, looking to Cassio who was ever vigilant to make sure he wasn't still panicking. "Thank you Cassio," Copper whispered softly, stroking the dog's fur down his back, keeping quiet for Ridley whom he wasn't sure was awake yet. In the stillness of the room though, there was a quiet knock at the door before Nurse Joy poked her head in. Seeing that at least Copper was awake who had turned to look at her, she opened the door only slightly, a tray in her hands with an array of Pokeballs on it. "All of your Pokemon are doing just fine. The two you specified yesterday are still recovering and will need plenty of rest, but they should make a full recovery in time," the nurse explained as she came to set the tray on a table just inside the door, but at her motion, she pushed open the door which a small sprite took as invitation to let herself in. "Copper, you're awake," Calla breathed as the Azelf flitted into the room, coming immediately to Copper's side. Nurse Joy sighed as she stood up, straightening her apron as she looked at the sprite sternly. "Now what did I tell you? He needs to rest," the nurse spoke, having been dealing with Calla for some time now as the psychic was wanting nothing more than to see Copper and make sure he was alright. "Oh, it's you," Copper couldn't help the disdain in his voice at seeing the Azelf again, having nearly forgotten that she had found him just the other day, still bitter at the 'Pokemon of Willpower'. "Are you alright? You're not hurt too bad, are you," the Azelf continued as she came closer to Copper, hovering just in front of him, starting to look him over for herself. "Do you want me to have her wait for a while longer," Nurse Joy asked still at the door who's voice caused Calla to stop finally as she looked between her and Copper. Her head dropped and her tails hung limp, and Copper could just feel the sadness coming over her. As much as he still resented her, he didn't want her to feel so down trodden as he sighed finally. "No, it's fine, I was awake any ways," Copper said after a moment. "Alright. Please, take your time today, there's no hurry for anything," Nurse Joy offered as she stepped back through the door, closing it behind her. "You can stay, but you have to be quiet," Copper told the small psychic type in reference to Ridley whom he wasn't sure now was still asleep or not. |

Leader ViolaViola watched the little cocoon's eye close as it fell asleep. She didn't fully understand what he was playing at by switching in a metapod of all things, but she knew metapod were known to have some attacks, as well as their outer shell were strong. maybe he was just buying more time for thinking. However the look on his face almost made her skin crawl, which was hard to do for a bug expert. What ever she had done, she fell into his plan. She didn't mind losing, she really enjoyed tough battles, they not only made for an interesting day, but they made for beautiful pictures. However his next comment almost made her want to delete all the pictures. It was just down right rude. She frowned her brows, and put her camera down. "Well," she began calmly. "From where I'm standing, it looks I have the upper hand, but angles are everything." she finished just as calmly as before. She didn't like being rude, and she didn't like others being rude. But from where she was standing, it looked like she had the upper hand, having nearly taken out three of his pokemon, to her one fainted Pokemon. However, she finished with a comment on how the perspective was everything. He might have a plan to decimate her Vivillon, though she had her own tricks. "Okay, Vivillon use Psybeam on Metapod." she commented as the butterfly flew closer. He absentmindedly returned Metapod as it was blasted into the air, as if it were an afterthought. "Go, Fennekin." He sent out his Fire-Type. He wondered how many Trainers had come through here with a Fennekin before him. Whether those without a Fennekin had beaten her anywhere near as easily. How many of them had brought in a Metagross, he may have been the very first. They certainly weren't common around here.
"Fennekin, let's show this butterfly how we do battle." Thomas watched the enemy and her Pokemon. Honestly, he felt bad about his taunting insults the moment they left his mouth, and he wanted to apologize. He was too prideful for that, however. That, and he didn't care much for polite interactions with other Human Beings.

Thomas was confident in his plan, it still held merit. The Vivillion was putting his Pokemon to sleep faster than they could attack, she was sweeping his team. He knew that Metagross could take those Psychic attacks though, at least long enough to wake up and do some serious damage. He would have to watch though, if he wasn't careful then the recoil damage and whatever Vivillion could do to chip away at their health could catch up on them quickly.
"Foxi, wake up!" He called out, hoping to wake up the Fennekin and get in an attack before being knocked out. When Foxi didn't respond, he cursed under his breath.

Metagross blinked it's eyes lazily, looking around for the fluttering butterfly. "Sweet, you're up! Use Takedown!" Metagross was too close at this point for the Vivillion to dodge his attack, slamming into Vivillion with a whole lot of force and sending it flying backwards. "Try another Takedown!" Metagross snapped awake, knowing what to do. It blasted towards the butterfly and slammed into it with extreme force. The impact left the butterfly swaying in the air for a moment, while the recoil left the computer teetering on the edge of consciousness. It would be a matter of who fell first, but Thomas smiled widely when Vivillion dropped first. "We did it!" He yelled out, a smile spreading over his face. "Great job, Metagross. You've earned a rest." He recalled his now feinted Pokemon. "That was a good battle." He turned his attention to the Gym Leader. He walked over to her and smiled.

Leader ViolaViola immediately returned her butterfly, trying to save her form what ever pain that fierce attack may have caused. Viola watched the Metagross faint just after her Vivillon did, which almost made her smile. The challenger pulled it off, he managed to beat her fair and square, but if only by the skin of his teeth. The challenger walked over to her and gave her a smile. "That was some battle, Sure gave my Pokemon a run for their money." she told him with a friendly laugh. "You, and your Pokemon, are very tough, cunning, and intelligent to say the least." she spoke as she began to reach into her camera bag, and pull out his rewards. "But I'd train a bit more before challenging Grant. He's a tough cookie." she offered him kindly, and held out his well earned rewards. Viola could see the trainer could make it far, if he really put his mind to it, he'd do great things. "Thank you." It was rare that he wasn't turned away by the thought of being near another person, but he'd actually found himself having fun around her. "It was a great battle, your Vivillion is pretty powerful." He complimented. Taking the rewards for his victory, Thomas had to leave now. He waved back at her once more as he left through the secret passage disguised as a painting. Suddenly he found himself back where he'd began. He rushed out and directly towards the Pokemon Center. Every one of his Pokemon had been defeated and the Center was his first stop on the way out of town.
"Nurse Joy, I need you to heal all of my Pokemon, please." She took the Pokeballs with a smile and took them to the back. He took a seat and waited patiently, one hand in his pocket toying with the new Bug Badge. He pulled it out of his pocket and examined the badge, smiling the whole time. Like she said, he'd actually earned this. It filled him with confidence and hope that he could keep advancing. He didn't need his Father, and he didn't need anyone but himself and his Pokemon.
"Thank you for waiting, your Pokemon are at full health." She handed his party back to him, and he nodded to her politely as he left without a word.

He looked on the other side of the room, and unbeknownst to him, Ridley had actually made it out of the room without waking him however long ago, but that was very likely due to the nightmares that were plauging him. Just as he might have thought, being able to smell her familiar sweet scent from the hallway, he watched Ridley come through the doorway just as Nurse Joy had left. With what noise that was coming from the growing bustle out in the main of the center, Copper could make out most of Ridley's figure, noting that her figure was now what he could most prominently see without being obstructed by large leather coats or medical gowns. Just like he remembered.
"Ridley," Copper replied groggily, watching her walk in to the room. He rubbed at his eyes as Cassio began to move on the bed as well, stretching his paws despite the bandages that wrapped around his ankles and his tender muscles. His long ears sat flat against his head as he let out a fanged yawn, sitting up with a short shake of his fur.
"You're okay too," Calla chimed with a small smile, watching Ridley walk in, recognizing her as the human whom had been with Copper most of that horrible night. Copper looked up at the sprite with a side glare before his attention turned back to Ridley. Asking how he was feeling? He didn't know her to be particularly interested in the well being of others, but perhaps the other night's events were still hanging over her head? Perhaps she still felt like he needed someone to look after him? He should know better than to think she might actually care, she didn't sound as though she was that invested in the question.
"All things considered, I'm still breathing, so I guess that's a good sign," Copper spoke almost bitterly, but he digressed. He felt like he should show a little decency.
"I'm tired, and I'm still kind of sore, but I don't know if that's from the other night or from this bed any more," he sighed, beginning to move from his bed, putting his feet on the cold tile floor to start getting ready for another day.
"How are you feeling," he returned, standing and stretching as Cassio helped himself down carefully from the bed, padding over to Copper's bag on the chair beside them. He sniffed at it, starting to poke around in the pockets before letting out a disgruntled snuff. He should have known the nurse would mess up his system. With Cassio trying to fix Copper's bag so he could function like he needed to, Copper stood in a pair of jeans and one of his under shirts as he mussed up his hair, at least just trying to get it out of his face.
"So you are feeling better? Do you need help," came Calla's voice as the Azelf hovered lower, closer to Copper who was starting to shuffle around a little bit more.
"Yes Calla, I'm feeling better. No I don't need help. Cassio will help," Copper huffed, knowing, mostly, that she meant well, but he just didn't have the patience for her right now. He still didn't know how he felt about her to begin with being the 'spirit of willpower' or whatever. The sprite nodded, and hovered back away a bit, but was ready and willing if she just so happened to be called upon. Copper looked over to Ridley who seemed to be reading something maybe, but what ever it was didn't seem to be very long as she looked up seconds later, ready to go already.

Just when we were getting settled in," Copper replied in a sarcasm that could match his usual wit, looking down though as Cassio had a shirt and an over shirt laid out for him now on the bed, his bag almost situated like it needs to be. Copper picked up the garments, making sure to have the shirt on the right way as he put it on over his head.
"But seriously though, where are we? Santalune City? I don't remember where that is, Johto? Sinnoh," Copper asked, knowing he'd been here before at least, having traveled the world like he did, but having traveled all over the world, it was impossible to remember all of the places he'd been to. He was dressed now as he adjusted his sleeve, and was fitting Cassio with his harness and leash. He heard a familiar sound though, a jingle as Cassio pushed a bell across the bed, one to put back on his collar. Copper smiled a small smile as he took the smooth object up in his fingers and latched it to the ring on his collar, glad to have a bit of familiarity back in his life.
With Ridley ready to go, Copper walked with Cassio on his leash, following Ridley out through the hallways of the center and into the outside world again.
"Where are we going Copper," Calla asked, the Azelf following close behind as she hovered along with them. Copper had to pause at the simple question though, cause he didn't even really know.
"I don't know, where are we going," Copper asked aloud, moreso for Ridley at that point who had taken to leaving so suddenly. The tail end of that question being though whether Ridley's near future involved him or not.
