Pokemon Rangers
Post here to request your next ranger mission.
The Ranger School near Fallarbor Town is a boarding school where many people from around the world come to learn to become a Pokémon Ranger. Known for it's ability to help many prospective students become the most successful rangers they can be, the Ranger School teaches it's students their duty with the title of Pokemon Ranger. With the use of Capture Stylers, you will befriend Pokemon to help you with missions and assignments to protect nature and help people and Pokemon alike all over the world. As you rise in the ranks of being a Pokemon Ranger, you will be able to befriend stronger and stronger Pokemon and be able to make sure that no one goes without the help that they need.
Upon arriving at the ranger school, you will be given a Training Styler (using the same ratios as the regular styler), and one of the many teachers will help guide you through your first capture. Once you have completed your first capture and proven you have what it takes to begin as a ranger, you will officially be granted the title of Ranger, and given your first level Styler. You will be given a message boarding device that will alert you of necessary missions, or to sign on for missions in the area that you are in. And from there, your path as a Ranger has begun.
In order to reach each new rank as you work as a ranger, you must complete a series of missions and continued practice capturing and befriending Pokemon with your styler, and then complete one assigned mission to officiate your rank up. A ranger can sign on and comoleo two missions a day, not including the mission assigned for rank up.
Missions are posted on the message board below, and come in five ranks:
D Rank Missions - Available to Rangers of any rank.
C Rank Missions - Available to Rangers of rank Novice and above
B Rank Missions - Available to Rangers of rank Top and above
A Rank Missions - Available to Rangers of rank Captain and above
S Rank Missions - Rare missions sent out to all available Rangers. Anyone can try, however, they are recommended for Rangers of Captain or higher.
Catching a pokemon does not require battling as a Ranger. You are more befriending them, and the stronger the Pokemon, the better styler you will need in order to successfully complete the capture.
If you capture a pokemon using a Styler, and decide you want your character to catch that pokemon, you do not need to roll for the pokemon again. However, you do need to battle it and sacrifice the number of posts and successfully capture it with a Pokeball, as if you were encountering it again.
If your character encounters a pokemon that took 5 posts to encounter that you've captured as a ranger, you must use five posts again, but will not need to roll for the pokemon.

All Pokemon Rangers will start out as regular trainers to receive their starter Pokemon from a Professor. As a Ranger, you will be able to keep your active team of six Pokemon on you, as well as Pokemon captured with a Styler. The Pokemon captured with the Styler will not earn exp while posting with them in your party, they are not able to be used in battles that award exp, and they cannot be put into a poke ball for travel. Pokemon captured with a Styler can be released before their post count is up for them to leave.
Each rank that you achieve as a Ranger will allow you to train higher and higher level Pokemon in your active party so you do not have to obtain gym badges or ribbons in order to work as a ranger. Those ranks and levels are as follows:

Every rank has a specific number of captures and missions that must be completed with your Styler before you can move on to the next Rank. Once you move up a rank, your capture count will start over. For example, you have just captured 3 Pokemon, finished your mission, and are now a Rookie Ranger. Your capture count is now at 0, and you must capture 3 Pokemon and complete 2 missions to move on to the next rank.
After you obtain the required number of captures with your Styler and complete the necessary missions, you do not automatically get to move up to the next rank. You must complete a mission issued to you by the Ranger School. Once you get the required number of captures and missions, post in the thread requesting Ranger Missions in the main forum, and we will give you your mission. Once you complete the mission, and we approve that completion, you will be awarded with the next rank.
While traveling as a ranger, you must keep sprites of the Pokemon you have with you that have been captured with your Styler. The only information you need to keep with them are their level, their ability, their attacks (damages not necessary) and a post count for how long they can stay with your Ranger. For example, you captured a lv. 5 Starly at Rookie Ranger, it's post count will be 1/10 until it leaves, and every post will make it go up 1 count; 2/10, 3/10, ect.
Below is the information for the Stylers. There are three different kinds of Stylers, and below are the ratios in order to capture a Pokemon with it. Capturing a Pokemon with a Styler can take up to three posts, every post has a different ratio of capture with the different Stylers. If you do not successfully capture the Pokemon by your third post, your Styler has lost energy, and you must start over in finding another Pokemon. All you have to do is roll a 10 sided di. If the chance is 3/10, then a 1, 2, or 3 is a capture. If the chance is 6/10, then a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 is a capture, ect.
