A young male, though not as young as most Pokemon Trainers that receive their Starter from the Professor, stepped into the Laboratory hesitantly. His white speckless overcoat was clear as diamond, and the dark blue stripes shirt he wore below it was neatly tucked in . "Hello, my name is Tatsuya Shiba. I'd like to become a Pokemon Trainer." He wasn't sure how all of this was supposed to work, just that you were supposed to talk to the Professor of the Region your journey was to be. He waited patiently for the Professor to tell him what to do.
Tatsuya never saw his parents. He has heard his neighbourssay that they were a pair of disloyal people who turned against the highest authority. This was going to be a struggle, but he was ready for the challenge. He wanted to prove to himself that he wasn't dependant on other people, that he could do this on his own and he wants to find his younger sister forth too!

Kintaro Satoshi This was it. Today was the day. Kintaro looked down at the sleeping Pawniard and pat her helmeted head. He should wake her up, but he wasn't sure how this was going to go. Ms. Ruka had assured him that it was never too late to start a Journey. That didn't make it true. What Kintaro didn't know was that Professor Sycamore was aware of the strange case coming to his door. How often did a full-grown man get to hit the "Reset Button" on his youth like this? It was surreal to think about. No, that wasn't it, this was unreal! Any second now he was going to wake up at his office, getting reamed by his boss for not only staying overnight but falling asleep on his work. Not that his effort was unappreciated at work, but he knew he was doing himself no favors. That was why, he suspected, she had him sent here. This was some Bunnelby-brained scheme to get the man to do a little more on his own agenda. That didn't change his fear of the place he was now standing at. Sycamore was probably in there, waiting for him, maybe even watching him.
If the Professor didn't choose to end the awkward waiting, Kintaro would finally bring up the courage to rap three times on the door in a slow, rhythmic fashion. It wasn't hard or soft or loud or quiet. The sound was measured and steady and just enough to be heard clearly without causing one to think a Rhyhorn had gotten loose. Kintaro hated dealing with the clients, but he'd learned a lot from the years of matching Pokemon to people and having to interview customers as well. It was important for making the right matches. More so than simply making sure a Pokemon could do the necessary job. Either way, however Sycamore came to greet Kintaro, he was shocked to find the man here and seemingly waiting on his arrival. "P-Professor Augustine S-S-S-Sycamore? My name is Satoshi Kintaro, sir. I-I-I'm here to...uh...I'm..that is to say...." He stuttered, suddenly hyper aware of what he was doing in a way he hadn't considered before. A little boy should have been enthusiastically declaring his want for a Pokemon. Instead, here was a middle-aged employment agent trying to convince a man around the same age that he had never done this sort of thing before. The only person even judging him was Kintaro himself. If only Alyssa had lied and convinced Kintaro that Sycamore was in need of a new Pokemon lab assistant and scheduled an interview. Kintaro could meet people all day long for the sake of helping someone else get what they needed. Kintaro shook his once his stuttering episode ended. He was only wasting the Professor's time. There was no reason to keep bothering him. "It's nothing. I'm sorry to disturb you." He said finally with a quick bow of his head.Pack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex Pokemon Encounter: 1/-- Trainer Battle: 1/25 Item Posting: (Ultra Ball) 1/20 Badges: N/A Pokemon:

Professor Sycamore His past week had been rather quiet in the labs, getting most of his paper work, and research done. He didn't have to many experiments planned out that week, or really in the foreseeable future, so he was taking things easy while he could, and getting everything done he could. Though, after having been shut in his office for so long, he had begun to grow stir crazy, so he ventured out into his labs to help his assistants and to see if they needed anything. He made it out into labs just in time to hear a knocking sound at the doors. Sycamore paused, and looked to the doors for a moment before making his way there. After pulling the doors open he was met with a grown man. Sycamore looked to the male, surprised. It wasn't often that there were visitors to the labs that weren't working there, and that weren't getting registered as a trainer. The professor listened to the man work his way through an introduction. It wasn't often that someone visited, as well as stumbled their way through an introduction. Maybe he was a fan? That definitely didn't happen often. But the moment he spoke his name, the light bulb went off in his mind. "Ah, bien sûr!" he began, not really thinking as the light bulb went off. Most in his labs already spoke french, so his exclamations weren't a problem, and he got in the habit of it. Sycamore waited for the male to finish his words before speaking. "I'm happy you made it in Mr. Satoshi!" he spoke kindly, and gave him a smile as he stepped back, holding the door to allow the male in. But before he could welcome him in, the male seemed to dismiss it and bow, as if he were already taking his leave. The professor's smile faded a bit in confusion as he hesitated, and then it clicked. He was nervous to start off. Every so often there was someone that was anxious about their first journey, though it just usually wasn't someone as old as he was. However, he was lucky that Kintaro's boss called a head just to give him a heads up, and explain the situation, he had almost forgotten. "Oh, nonsense, you aren't disturbing me. I'm delighted to help you out." He told him with another kind smile. He gestured for the man to come in and waited patiently for him to do so. "A Ms. Ruka, I believe it was, called ahead for you, and told me you were coming in." He explained. "She told me you were coming in to get a starter. Have you given any thought as to which you would like?" Sycamore finished, readying to start him off on his travels.

Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro couldn't have thought for a second that Alyssa Ruka wouldn't have called ahead. Somehow, still, he was quite surprised to hear the name of his boss dropped. A faint flush in his cheeks signaled to Sycamore that he had dropped exactly the right name to motivate his reluctant Trainer-To-Be. Kintaro was poised halfway into stepping away before he craned his neck to stare back at the handsome Pokemon Professor. "M-Ms. Ruka? She called you?" He asked, looking more bothered now than he had a moment ago. The man had to stop and think about what he really wanted to do. Sure he was afraid, but Alyssa had stuck her neck out for him. At least in his eyes. "Alright. Fine. Yes, I am here for a Pokemon." He straightened himself up, whipping around to face Sycamore once more with a rigid "at attention" stance now. This poor guy was uncomfortable even in his own skin. Kintaro watched the Professor warily, clearly waiting for some kind of remark on his age. It always came up whenever someone decided to ask about his own adventures. Someone his age with no personal experience as a Trainer, it just wasn't right.
Kintaro took a step forward as he mulled over the most important question of his life. "A Pokemon, yes. Which one..." He trailed off, contemplating what he knew of Kalos' own Pokemon. He'd heard that the system was the same in Unova, and Kanto too. A Grass Type, a Water Type, and a Fire Type Pokemon to choose from. Though none of them could ever be genuinely called "the same" choices. While Kintaro was thinking about his options, he was failing to hear the distant "clank clank clank!" of bladed feet pattering the road behind him. Attica was charging the laboratory thinking Kintaro had ditched her and escaped. She knew far less than Alyssa and Kintaro did, so she had no idea what even the great Augustine looked like. After several long seconds of getting to watch the rampaging Pawniard, Professor Sycamore would notice that Kintaro had gone pale. He could hear the running Blade Pokemon now and knew he was in for it. "C-close the door." He stuttered, hesitantly moving forward as panic set in and made him twitch. The footfalls getting closer finally prompted Kintaro to take the initiative if Sycamore hadn't already begun to follow his visitor's instructions. "CLOSE THE DOOR!" The case worker grabbed the handle and hauled on it, with or without Sycamore's help. Either way, the heavy barrier shut before a loud "THUD!" came from the other side and Attica's forehead blade stuck through. The Pawniard was screaming curses from the other side, threatening Kintaro for trying to run away from his task and hunt for an unsuspecting client when he was supposed to be working on getting Pokemon for himself.
Kintaro fell back against the floor and away from the door, letting out a pitiful yelp when Attica dislodged herself and aimed a sharp glare through the tiny gap she'd made. Sycamore was only an unfortunate party to the event occurring here and not on the Pawniard's radar for stabbing. Luckily, she wasn't going to tear apart some random bystander's home just to punish the cowardly lump she had been put in charge of for this trip. After recovering from the scare of being attacked by Attica--again--Kintaro stood up and brushed himself off. "Sorry...about that. Ms. Ruka sent an attack Pawniard so I wouldn't try to leave." He glanced to the side awkwardly. "Attica has no idea what she's doing except watching me." It didn't help that Attica was as much an "attack dog" as Kintaro was a Pokemon Ranger. "So, yes, my Starter. I've reviewed the probable candidates. Assuming you haven't changed the formula standard, there are three valid options for Type. Following that data sample, the choices are typically unusual to find, well, anywhere." Kintaro was a lot less anxious when he was focused on a task. Now he seemed more like the man he should have become. "Given the charts provided by my company, there are only nine Pokemon that are technically common, but are almost impossible to find and catch in the wild." He paused, looking up to Sycamore as if realizing he was behaving oddly. "Assuming none of those options are evolved, that brings the choices to three. One for each Type category. Of course, I'm going to require something durable. I have no idea what I'm doing, I can hardly lift a PC on my own, and I can't promise my partners will be safe under my care." Kintaro understood that he could be convincing Sycamore that giving him a Pokemon might actually be a bad idea, but he couldn't make an accurate conclusion without using the information and facts he knew he had. "Chespin." He stated finally, in a matter-of-fact tone. "Chespin is the only logical answer. Froakie is agile, Fennekin is sharp-witted, but both are also more delicate. Putting them in a dangerous situation could counteract their benefits. Chespin are known for their hardy bodies and physical strength. So the only Pokemon I could reasonably expect to survive my incompetence is, Chespin." When Kintaro was finished, he stood straight but more relaxed than before. He let a lot of stress out by working through logic puzzles, and figuring which Pokemon to call "friend" was one of the most complicated puzzles one could imagine. He only hoped that whatever Chespin he was given would be up for the task.
Kintaro was surprised to receive gifts for his journey as well. He'd had older models of a Pokedex for work, handy little devices for analysis, but never his own property. Pokeballs and Potions, too. Lastly, he was asked to take the one Pokeball that mattered. Chespin's ball was cool to the touch, yet it felt warm from beyond that initial chill. He held the ball in his palm for a long time, trying to process what he had just done. This was his Pokeball. His Pokemon. Something he'd dreamed of for years. He looked to Sycamore with the faint indication of a smile, though he worked to keep a straight face. He had to look professional after all. "Merci beaucoup, Professeur." Kintaro declared, bowing his head once more and using a bit of French to relay his appreciation for the Professor's aid. Now he had to prove to Attica that he hadn't run away after all. The Pawniard was pacing angrily outside, leaving deep cuts in the dirt whenever she scuffed her little feet. When the door finally opened again, Kintaro stood there and it took everything in her not to stab his shin for abandoning her at their camp site. He was smiling, and he had things he didn't have when he went in. The Pawniard paused in her menacing stance and glanced at Professor Sycamore briefly, then back to Kintaro. "Pawn?" Attica was so confused. "It's alright, Attica. You did your job. You can go home." Kintaro said with a small nod. He enlarged Chespin's Ball and let the little chipmunk Pokemon out for Attica to see. The two young Pokemon stared at each other, Chespin mirroring Attica's actions thinking he was playing some kind of game. Attica finally accepted that she wasn't being tricked, but her demeanor fell immediately. Kintaro was right, she did her job. It had been a lot more fun than shredding paper at the office though. She was hoping she would get to keep watching over him. The little Pawniard dug something out of a pouch she had jealously guarded on her back and presented a Shell Bell to Kintaro. The first thing the new Trainer noticed was that the bell didn't ring. "Hm? Isn't that the Shell Bell Ms. Ruka asked me to fix? Why did she send this? It's broken." He had tried everything he could think of, and he knew something was in there stopping the bell, but he couldn't figure out what and he couldn't seem to get it. He glanced inside at the covered bell with frown. Still there. Except it was definitely loose now. He was too busy shaking the bell out to wonder how that could have happened. A short "ding!" of the bell escaping its paper prison and a crumpled note fell into Kintaro's hand.
"Dear Kinny, I know you didn't fix this bell before you left. Attica could've if you just asked. She's not just your Watchog, either. Take good care of her for us. And don't forget to be polite to Professor Sycamore! I taught you French for a reason, you jerk! Love, Aly."
Kintaro blinked and looked down at Attica, who looked back up at him like nothing had really changed. He held out the Shell Bell and Attica hesitantly held up her bladed hands before he dropped it. "You keep it. My Chespin is going to need help." He said with a bigger smile than before. With his new Starter Pokemon and his first companion "caught," Kintaro bid farewell to Professor Sycamore to begin the first leg of his own Pokemon Journey!Pack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex, Shell Bell Pokemon Encounter: 2/-- Trainer Battle: 2/25 Item Posting: (Ultra Ball) 2/20 Badges: N/A Pokemon:

Professor SycamoreThe professor watched as the male seemed to try and leave. It was something that never usually happened. Sycamore wasn't sure what to about that, he couldn't force him to do anything if he didn't want to. But bringing up the woman he spoke with seemed to do the trick. He nodded to the male as he questioned it. Suddenly his demeanor changed as he seemed to go from a nervous unsure man, so one that was ready to do a business deal. Sycamore moved to the three Pokeballs, as Kintaro began to mull over his choices. The professor set back for a moment, and waited for him to think it over. He knew you couldn't rush this decision, so he watched the male think it over. But his nervous appearance seemed to reappear. He had been so focused on the male, he hadn't heard the clinking foot steps, or maybe he just wasn't trained to listen for it. Either way Sycamore looked to the now very pale male. "Are you alright, Kintaro?" he asked, moving for the male, but before he could make a step, the male muttered to close the door. It wasn't nerves, but fear, and that was a distinct look a fear in his eyes... "For why?" Sycamore questioned as he moved for the door to close it, but before he did he leaned around to look out of the doors. He was only able to make out something silver and red. But before he could make out the assailant, Kintaro shouted and moved to shut the door himself. The force pulled Sycamore forward with the door, having held on to the door nob, and he stumbled forward in the swift motion. The professor stood back upright and was going to question the male, at little less then pleased, but before he could there was a loud 'Thud' as a chunk of the door was slammed inwards with an axe. "Mon Dieu" He exclaimed under his breath as he began to stumble back away form the door.
By this point, all of the assistants had stopped their work and started to watch as the room fell silent. Sycamore didn't quite know what to think, there was an axe sticking in their door... Was someone attacking the male? Though suddenly the axe was pulled free, revealing eyes and a mouth as she peered through the hole she created, only to be explained that she was sent by the woman he spoke with on the phone. "An attack Pawniard?" Sycamore asked curiously and hesitantly. He explained that her name was Attica and she was here to ensure he didn't leave... That was so strange... He had recently had a male that was forced to be there by his parole officer.. but why would he have to be forced to stay? He didn't seem to be in distress or upset by the fact. He soon began into explaining why he would or wouldn't pick a starter, while Sycamore tried to play catch up. He had a look of pure confusion on his face, but it seemed they had gotten back on track so Sycamore tried to stay caught up. He picked a Chespin, and Sycamore began to help him with his items and Pokeball, as he explained why. "I think that is a very logic reason, however, it might be good to keep out of dangerous situations." Sycamore spoke to him, and then glanced to the Pawniard still leering at him through the door giving him a shot of anxiety. Soon after he collected his things he moved for the door and to leave. The professor watched closely as he opened the door, readying to run for one of the Pokemon in the lab, but Attica didn't charge. He let out a sigh of relief as he moved back further into the lab. "Can we look into the budget for a new door? Maybe one that's reinforced?" He purposed to one of the head assistants as they began back to work.

To her the entrance of the laboratory was beginning to look like some sort of great, imposing beast. If she hadn't already come so far to get there it would have been the perfect time to abort mission as far as she was concerned. Her life was set to change the moment she walked through that door. It was more than a little intimidating. After adjusting the bandages over her eye, straightening her dress, and otherwise fidgeting about to stall for time she forced herself to enter the lab. It was now or never.
"P-professor Sycamore?" She 'called' weakly, barely managing above a normal speaking tone. Hopefully she wasn't disturbing him. "I...um...I..." Hanako was on the verge of panicking. The request she had so carefully planned since leaving home was lost. If she couldn't speak then her adventure could potentially end before it had even truly began. Fortunately she had a backup plan. Perhaps all would not be lost if she could show the professor what she was trying to say instead. She began to fish through her bag, her hands shaking all the while. With some difficulty she managed to produce a single piece of paper, holding it up in front of herself for the professor to see. It was a simple but neatly drawn picture of a Froakie. The paper provided Hanako with the added benefit of something to hide her face behind, if only temporarily. She was sure she was bright red by that point.
While it wasn't the most graceful start to her adventure, it was honestly more than she had expected of herself.

ElfyProfessor SycamoreProfessor Sycamore had a pretty calm day so far, and a pretty easy day planned. He hadn't had any big studies planned for the day involving any actual mega evolutions. Some days he'd have an actual Pokemon in his lab mega evolve, to which each Pokemon reacted to it differently. Some enjoyed it and found the added evolution enhanced their lives while others were violent. Of course, they were all volunteers and could stop the study at any time, but it still made those studies a nail biter. Today they were working with the actual stones themselves, so it was a fairly simple day. The fair haired professor walked through the front of the lab reading a paper he had on a clip board. Had it not been for her voice, he would had missed the petite visitor all together! He glanced up to see the brightly haired girl standing before him. "Je suis désolé! I didn't see you come in!" Sycamore apologized, quickly moving to set down the clip board to give the visitor his attention. He could tell she was a bit shy, so he didn't want to interject as she fought to get the right word out before reaching into her bag and pulling out a drawing of which starter she wanted. "Ah, an artiste! What a nice drawing." He commented kindly with a friendly smile. "So, a trainer to be? I can help you right over here." He spoke as he moved towards the desk. If she had a hard time requesting for her starter, he didn't want to make it any harder on her then it had to be, seeing the start of her eye, singular, he could tell she had a rough time in her life, so he was going to make this as helpful as he could. He reached over and plucked the Pokeball sitting behind the 'Froakie' tag and held it out to the young woman, and then with his free hand he opened a drawer and pulled out a tray with Pokeballs, and a Pokedex on it. "Here would be your Froakie, as well as a few items to help you get started." he told her and set the tray on the table for her to collect.

Hanako thanked whatever merciful gods were watching out for her that day that the professor was doing his best to work with her. "Thank you." She whispered to the professor, seemingly afraid to raise her voice any further than that for the time being. If she did she feared she wouldn't be able to speak again. Collecting the items in the tray was a surprisingly difficult task for her, as the shaking of her hands nearly resulted in her dropping everything more than a few times. By the time she managed to get her things into her bag she was glad she had waited to retrieve her new companion's Pokeball. She would have felt awful if she had accidentally dropped the poor thing. As a safety precaution, upon retrieving the Pokeball from Professor Sycamore, she released the Froakie before storing its Pokeball with the rest of her things.
Realizing the horrible first impression she was probably making upon her new partner, she quickly straightened out the bandages that hid her missing eye and knelt down so she was closer to the Froakie's level. She wouldn't be able to properly acquaint herself with the little Pokemon until they were out and about but for now this would have to do. "Hello." Hanako waved at the Froakie sheepishly before holding out her arms, letting the Pokemon decide for itself whether or not it would allow her to hold it. As afraid as she was that the Froakie wouldn't like her, she tried her best to keep herself together until it had settled down in her arms. She couldn't help the relieved smile that appeared on her face at that point.
"Thank you again, professor." She said with a small bow, seemingly more at ease now that the Froakie was resting in her arms. While she still couldn't convince herself to raise her voice above a whisper, she wasn't shaking as badly as she had been. It wasn't much progress but it was progress all the same. "I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time. We'll be going now." With a slight smile and a quiet goodbye she turned to head towards the door, pausing just long enough to note that, while still intimidating, she wasn't as afraid of it as she had been.

A young boy of eighteen carefully stepped into the lab of Professor Sycamore, the white-haired lad eager to get his first pokemon, though it wouldn't appear as such given how worried he looked. This lab was fairly new to him and even though he had heard of the other regions, this is the first time he has been in any of them. What's worse, or maybe better depending on the view of things, he had a plane leaving in a few for the actual location of where he would start things, Kanto, another region he hadn't even set foot on despite Jotho and Kanto being connected by the magnet train.
He did have an idea of the pokemon one would get as a starter here and knew which one he would choose, he finally approached the Professor after about 2 minutes of musing to himself, "Hello- my name is Andy. I'm here to hopefully receive a Fennikin please?" finding the little firefox rather adorable

A bright morning welcomed the Kalos Region into the new day as the sun had already risen and was moving into the sky, basking the green forests around Vaniville Town in a warm glow. Though small, Vaniville had much to offer those passing through as a one Professor Augustine Sycamore was already ready, willing and able to aid anywhere he could. One such instance was the joy and splendor of helping those new budding trainers, both young and old, take their first steps into the Pokemon world with their very own partner, and one such opportunity presented itself as he was notified by one of his lab hands of a visitor whom had come inside. The good Professor didn’t hesitate to move through his facility to come and welcome the newcomer, elated as always with an ever present smile on his face. ”Why hello Andy! It is such a pleasure, please come in, come in,” Sycamore greeted with a bright smile, gentle taking the teen by his shoulders and motioning for him to come further into the facility. There was never anything to be shy about with professor Sycamore around. ”I could have guessed a strapping young lad like you might be here to start off on your very own journey. I am pleased that you came to me for assistance,” he smiled, listening to the boy then on his selection of Pokemon. ”Ah, a boy who knows what he wants! A Fennekin is a fine partner, and I have just the one ready to start on its own travels as well,” the professor confirmed, moving about as a lab assistant came by with a tray full of items that he handed off to the good Professor. With jovial thanks, Sycamore moved back towards Andy, tray in hand, and held it out to the new young trainer. ”Here we are. I have a Pokedex for you that now has you identified as a registered trainer, and of course some potions and pokeballs to help you on your way. And this Pokeball here holds your new Fennekin that I’m sure will be just right for your travels,” he offered, holding out the items for Andy to take, always enjoying this part of his job the most. ”We wish you farewell and good tidings on your journey! A lone boy skipped down the lane leading to Professor Sycamore's lab. He whistled a merry little tune as he moved, swinging his arms at his sides along to the beat. Truthfully he had no idea what region or area he was in now, it had all been a blur since waking up in a hospital. All he knew was that he had gotten to ride in a boat and the kind lady in town had told him it was that way to start his journey, and so 'that way' he went. As he skipped he wondered what kind of pokemon he would get from the professor the lady talked about. He sounded really nice to be handing out free pokemon. He hoped his new pokemon would want to be friends with him. It would, right? It had to, and if not he would work hard to earn it's friendship. With a solemn promise to try his hardest Script knocked on the door before slowly opening it and stepping in. "Professor? I'm here for my friend!" He gave the man a friendly grin and hoped his appearance wouldn't frighten him like it did some others he had met recently. He wouldn't turn him away would he? Script really hoped not. As he looked around the lab his eyes eventually landed on three little pokemon playing off to the side. Were one of those his future friend? He skipped over to the group and watched them fondly for a moment before looking back at Sycamore. "Can I have the froggy? Please! Cute, cute, cute~"

"Why hello there! You're absolutely correct, this is where you can get your first starter Pokemon," the professor answered in kind, matching the young man's eager energy. He didn't waste any time scouting out the trio of starter Pokemon that Professor Sycamore had out for a bit of playtime in his lab, and it seemed almost instantly he was fond of the frog Pokemon, Froakie. "The water type Froakie is an excellent choice! I'm sure you'll get along wonderfully,"Sycamore answered before gathering a couple more items for the new trainer to be to take along with him.

Script scooped up the froakie and hugged her tightly, yet was careful not to hurt her in the process. The froakie hung there for a minute in surprise before gently hugging him back a little awkwardly. "I'll call you Frofro." Script grinned before turning and bowing to Sycamore in gratitude. He gave the man one last grin before collecting the offered items and skipping out of the lab with his new friend. "Frofro we're going on an adventure, would you like that? Sunny sunny sunny~" He held the froakie much like a baby as he headed off to god knows where, the little pokemon relaxing into his arms as it accepted it's new fate. With the sun shining down on them and the fresh breeze tickling Script's cheek, he felt like this was the beginning of something amazing. He couldn't remember much of his past life, but something told him this was so much better than whatever it could have been. After all, now he had a new friend!

Rei hated to admit it to himself, but it was about time he got himself a pokemon. All his peers had long since received one, and even his parents were starting to push him into getting a starter from the professor. He didn’t particularly want to, but they had their uses, he supposed. They were good enough for protection and companionship at the very least. And having a creature at his side during his first real travels away from his hometown seemed like common sense. To him, travelling to the lab was a no-brainer. It was something necessary in order to continue travelling for his dance and his photography.
And thus, as he pushed open the doors to the lab and stepped into the entrance room, he sighed. Necessary or not, that didn’t mean he was particularly interested in dealing with people. At least the professor would probably be able to get this over with quickly. “Hello, professor?” He called in a lightly accented voice, hoping the man was in fact in his lab at the moment. It would be rather awkward having to wait for him or come back later. After all, having to come here twice wasn’t something he planned on doing. It was awkward enough once, let alone having to come back again.

kitarialThere was nothing quite like a bright sunny day that shone down upon the lush green forests of Vaniville Town, keeping things warm and holding an almost natural chipper disposition for those that called it home. Vaniville might be a relatively small town compared to most, but it had much to offer those passing through or coming by for a visit as Professor Sycamore was always prepared to open his doors to those that might be coming to see him. One such instance presented itself when he was given notice by one of his aides that there was a visitor who had just come in. Coming through a corridor into the main open area of his facility, Sycamore smiled at the visitor. "Why hello there! Please, come in, don't hesitate," Sycamore greeted, welcoming him in with a warm smile. "I am Professor Sycamore at your service. What is it that I can do for you today," he queried.

It was awkward standing in the front area with one of the lab’s aides, so when professor Sycamore arrived Rei let out a sigh of relief. Good, he was here, he wouldn’t have to come back later. “My name is Rei. I’ve come because my parents have been pushing me to get a pokemon now that I’m travelling for work more often, and I can’t really blame them for saying it. The companionship would be nice.” He answered, not quite smiling but with a definite expression of relief written all over his face. This process surely wouldn’t take too long, and then he’d be able to leave with his new companion. He had some work to do later, he couldn’t really afford for this process to take ages. Rather than say anything else, he opted to play with his fingers as he awaited the professor’s response. Did he even have starters ready right now? Plenty of people came to the lab for starters, who knew if he’d even be able to get one.

kitarialHaving welcomed his visitor inside, Sycamore smiled with a patient gaze as he'd inquired about the nature of the visit, and he was pleased to know that the young man introduced as Rei was visiting to receive a starter Pokemon. His smile grew then at the notion of being able to pair someone with their very first companion, and while it didn't necessarily sound like they were gearing up for the gym league, perhaps just being able to become friends with a Pokemon first and foremost would open up all of the paths that Rei could aspire to travel down. "How wonderful, well I am delighted to be able to assist you with that," Sycamore replied, motioning to one of his aides then to go and retrieve the starter Pokemon pokeballs that he had to offer. "Did you know which species you might want to meet today? I have three different Pokemon that could be your potential companion, the Grass Type Chespin, the Fire Type Fennekin, or the Water Type Froakie," the professor asked, wanting to make sure that Rei had the tools to make the decision he wanted to.

As Rei listened to the professor’s words, he breathed a short sigh of relief. It didn’t take long to ponder on the professor’s question, he’d been thinking about exactly what kind of starter he might want from the professor during his entire journey here. “That is a question I’d already been thinking about, professor. If you don’t mind, might I meet Fennekin?” He responded, tone very polite to the man before him. After all, the professor was the one who would be giving him a starter if he was to receive one at all. Even his normal impatience was nowhere to be seen with the older man, giving him his utmost respect.
In the meantime, he continued to play with his fingers, obviously out of his depth here. Anybody would be able to tell he’d never trained a pokemon in his life, least of all the much more experienced professor who started trainers on their journeys daily. His nervousness was palpable in the air, no matter how kindly the professor sounded when he spoke.

kitarialThe professor waited patiently for the new arrival's answer to a most perplexing question to some new trainers, and was given an answer of the fire type starter. He nodded his head before looking down to the young man. "Yes of course, the fire type Fennekin. An excellent choice," Sycamore answered in earnest as he turned to disappear for only a moment before returning with a tray and a set of items. "While fire types tend to be the greater challenge of the three, the reward of learning along side them and earning their trust and friendship is also just as great. Every Pokemon has a lesson to share, and I think this Fennekin will be a good match for you. These are empty Pokeballs for you, and Potions for starting on your way, and this Pokeball is for your Fennekin," he replied as he came back towards his visitor, he could see hesitation maybe? Uncertainty? It was very daunting to go out on a journey for the first time, and he knew a little encouragement could go a long way. "Don't be afraid to learn and grow together, hm? There's no right or wrong way to start an adventure. You're already taking the best first step in being here today," he smiled brightly.

In a flurry of mothy wings and sparkling dust a Volcarona wearing a decidedly garish and sparkly vest lands and deposits a young woman with firey red hair gently on the grass of Vaniville Town. "hey, way to go Aria, this time we actually landed and I'm pretty sure we are where we were supposed to be headed!" the young woman cheered as she spun on a heel and wrapped her arms around the Volcarona affectionately. "Riiighto! now I think you better head on back to Kitty now, the whole family is probably worried, it did take longer than it should of for us to get here after all." she states with a grin giving Aria a light pat before stepping back so that the Volcarona could take off. Aria let out a cheery little cry before swiftly vanishing off into the horizon. "ya know that Aria is gonna rat me out to Kitty Kat." She says to herself as she looks around for a bit to get her bearings, taking in the sight of what had to be the lab she was looking for, the place she was going to begin her pokemon journey. "Faithe did what?" she mimics a deeper and more serious sounding woman's voice as she walks towards the lab. "Yea... so I may have had Aria make an, unplanned stop for some pretty materials, but, seriously Kat you never give Aria anything sparkly to wear, and I finally had a really good opportunity to do something about it." Faithe states with a flippant toss of her hands in the air. "Besides, once she see's that awesome sparkly vest I gave Aria she will forgive the extended loan of her favorite pokemon." she adds with a mischievous grin. Taking a deep breath Faithe pauses for a moment at the door to the lab, she dusts herself off, straightens her skirt and top shakes her hair out and puts on a big determined smile before throwing the doors open wide and stepping inside with, at least in her mind, dramatic flair, because its always best to make a great entrance. "FAITHE HAS ARRIVED!" she announces in a bombastically cheerful tone entirely unaware of who may, or may not currently be right at the doors to the lab. Tact, not being her strong-suit, perhaps not even on her map.

FaitheA bright morning welcomed the Kalos region into the new day as the sun had ready risen and was moving into mid morning basking the green forests around Vaniville town in a warm glow. Though small, Vaniville had much to offer those passing through as a one Professor Sycamore was always ready, willing, and able to aid anywhere he could. One such instance presented itself as he was sat at his desk in one of the inner more rooms of his laboratory, when a boisterous and excitable exclamation caught his attention. He smiled, if this was a potential new trainer, they already had the right energy to get things started, and who was he to deny such a bright start? "My goodness, your energy is astounding," Sycamore smiled, moving into the main of his laboratory to greet the fiery red head that had burst through his doors. "Welcome to the Kalos Region Pokemon Laboratory! I am Professor Sycamore, what can we do for you today?"

With a smile spreading from one ear to the other Faithe waved a hand excitedly in the air in Professor Sycamore's direction. "Hiya~!" she cheers as she walks several steps towards the professor. "I, would like to begin my pokemon journey, today!" she chimes tossing her right hand out and up above her head. "And I would absolutely LOVE a sweet lil fennekin to be my partner!" she adds as she draws her posture back in to what would be a more, normal stance her energy seemingly impossible to contain as she swayed from side to side some with the excitement of anticipation for meeting her first, and her OWN pokemon partner. Sure she had cared for many a pokemon with her family, but none of them were HER pokemon, this was something monumental and worthy of great excitement, at least it was such to Faithe.

FaitheSmiling with his new visitor, posing his question of what brought her to his lab, Sycamore nodded at her announcing she was looking to begin a Pokemon Journey. Having sent a lab aide to go and fetch the preliminary supplies that were necessary and customary for a new trainer to start off with, Sycamore didn't even need to ask which starter Pokemon it was that the young woman had wanted to train with. It didn't surprise him that there was a given answer, surely with her range of excitement and readiness she had thought about it already. A Fennekin was a fitting partner for anyone who was willing to give them the effort they needed, and Sycamore had a feeling this would be a right fit. "An excellent choice, one moment," Sycamore nodded, and while he stepped away for a moment to procure the correct Pokeball for a Fennekin, a lab aide had returned and held out a tray of assorted items and a newly registered Pokedex for the budding trainer. "Ah, yes, we've got some starting supplies for you, extra Pokeballs and such to get going, and this Pokeball here houses your new partner Fennekin," Sycamore explained with a soft and genuine smile, personally handing the young woman a single Pokeball. "I think you're going to have a great start!"

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @princesnowfox Party: Renée (Fennekin, 5, 0/15) | Status: Starting my journey in Kalos, so excited! Now Playing: Bill Wurtz - Here Comes The Sun Episode 1: The Shining Stage Is Set! Ah, Vaniville Town. Jason had been here once before, though he was quite young at the time. He wasn't here to explore the town right now, though. Jason stood in front of the Pokémon Research Lab just outside the town centre, ran by the region's own Professor Sycamore. Even if it wasn't quite as grand as the one in Lumiose, Jason found himself staring up at it with stars in his eyes nonetheless. Where museums felt like walking in the shadow of history, this felt like watching your silhouette dance into the future. After a moment just looking up in admiration, Jason steeled his resolve to get going. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, after all. Then a few more steps, bringing the small boy into the reception area of the lab. "Salut! Is Professeur Sycamore here? I'd like to get a Pokémon as a first companion for my journey, please~!" He asked aloud, with a sing-song tone. Jason was wearing dungarees with a t-shirt the same spring green as his eyes. On his head, the fox ears headband that formed part of his stage costume (almost blending into his ruffled hair, being the same colour) and a couple star hairclips. On Jason's back was a grey & pink hiking backpack, with a rather large twirling baton (nearly as long as he was tall) strapped securely to the side of the bag
Visibly excited, he was bouncing on his feet as he stood. Of course, Jason had considered his choices before he arrived in Vaniville Town, the long trip from his family's home in Circhester that it had been. He knew well what the starter pokémon of his home region were, his own mother having been on her own journey here some about 2 decades ago (and his eldest sister having worked with Sycamore as an academic). All three were cute and would be good companions, that was for sure, but the fire-type Fox Pokémon Fennekin was the boy's obvious choice. He had a bias towards canine pokémon in general, but the choice was mostly an aesthetic and type one. Another important factor would be the pokémon's personality, of course. If their passions and tendencies vibed well with his own, the process of training and performing together would for sure be easier. Jason was one firmly of the opinion that any person or pokémon could be a friend of his with enough effort, but if he had the choice he certainly wouldn't refuse some help.
Note: The personalities generated for the three starters were Jolly (Chespin), Calm (Fennekin), and Bashful (Froakie), should you wish to represent that in any way :)
