" The strongest tree snaps under pressure. A 90 degree angle was pushing it Cypress. Besides, I like getting to keep look out, and I think we need to move ahead." He commented, trying to focus on the path ahead of them. However Cypress took it as a warning, quickly looking behind her, her thick pony tail whirling around over her shoulder. " Are we being followed?" She asked, worried that it had been too soon to let out Snover and Phione. But Wyatt didn't seem worried. " No, There's something ahead." He told her. The dragon type tree moved forward and began knocking the bats away. However, while the Larvitar was growling, it was obediently sitting in her arms. While Snover was standing behind her. That left the other two Pokémon... They charged into battle, Turtwig trying to ram the lower bats, and Phione hopping into the fray. " You get back here!" She shouted sharply, snapping her finger at the Pokémon angrily, however they were too far in now. The Phione was ready to unleash, they weren't inside or any a cave right? So it can use electricity! The pink Phione held out it's fin like arms, and it's antenna stood straight up as it began to shout. " No no no no no! Phione Stop!" She shouted running for the water electric type, but it was too late. There was multiple thunder cracks as lightning strikes rained down on the area. Larvitar cowered in her arms at the loud sound with helped as she held him tight in her arms. She had to dive out of the way of the uncontrollable strikes, as about 10 struck one after another. Each taking out at least one bat at a time. However... This also took out Wyatt, Turtwig, and Phione itself in the process. There was a loud thump as she looked up to see that her tall tree had fallen over but he wasn't unconscious. His leaves blackened from the smitting. The brunette stood back up, and looked around at the unconscious bats, and Pokémon littered around her. " Well great." She huffed sarcastically. She quickly returned her Pokémon, including Wyatt, and Snover who was just fine. She made her way through the bats, and to the baby Pokémon who were unharmed, but frightened and crying. She couldn't leave them there. They were just going to get attacked again. She had to give them the best chance, maybe Nurse Joy would know what happened to them. She began to hush them soothingly as she moved over to them. Only Magby seeming to stop crying to look up at her. " I'm going to take good care of you three okay?" she chimed, trying to sooth the babies as she began to scoop them up. She was able to pick up all three as she began to move into the city. Joy commented sweetly, but urgently before taking the Pokémon in her arms and set the on a small cushioned table. " Yeah, they should be alright. But my Pokémon got a little beat up in the rescue, so could you help them up too?" Cypress asked her, to which she agreed. A chancy came around and collected her Pokeballs and took them to the back. Now all she could do was wait and pass the time while they got taken care of. Elfana Aroway Elfana had just started messing with her Pokedex again when a crash from somewhere in the back caught her attention. The crash was followed by a series of defiant and angry croaks that continued until Kiro managed to evade the Chansey that was so determined to help him. He had allowed himself to be healed just enough to regain consciousness and had decided that anything beyond that was unnecessary. Elfana sighed, storing her Pokedex and approaching the counter with a bored expression. "Three...two...one." As soon as she finished counting down the unruly Croagunk launched himself over the counter. She caught him and cradled him against her chest while he glared at the nurse and the Chansey. Before the Nurse could say anything Elfana held up her hand, gesturing for silence. "Please inform me when my Cranidos and Turtwig are ready. I would like to leave as soon as possible. If my Croagunk caused any damage I will pay for it when I collect my Pokemon." She turned and went back to her seat then, uninterested in anything the Nurse had to say to her. She sat with Kiro in her lap, retrieving the supplies she would need to patch him up on her own. "Stubborn thing." She smiled softly and lightly tapped his nose with her index finger. Tending to her Croagunk wouldn't take long. By the time he was fixed up her Pokemon would likely be ready to go.

The pink haired woman blinked for a moment before responding. "Well... I thought you were going to take them." Joy spoke, unsure of how to continue having expected the female to take the Pokémon. Cypress let out a single sarcastic laugh. " I don't think I should be taking...Babies out on the road of being a trainer." She spoke uncomfortably. It wasn't exactly her style or fit to be caring for babies. She wasn't exactly the patient type. " Oh, well we don't usually keep the Pokémon brought in that are perfectly healthy, and I'm more afraid they might have imprinted on you as their mother already." She spoke as a Chansey rolled out the three Babies in a little bin on a table to look them over, they clearly were much better, and once they rounded the corner the Togepi and Wynaut moved forward and started chirping and cooing happily. Cypress recoiled at this, not in disgust but almost fear. " Oh no no no, I don't think-" She began to deny as she smoothed her hair back into her ponytail. She stopped herself as the Chansey wheeled them next to her as the Togepi hopped to reach her but rolled backwards, and the wynaut raised it's arms in the universal gesture 'up.' Mean while the Magby sat in the back of the bin looking up at her having not warmed up to her like he had the other babies. Cypress groaned and rolled her eyes as she reached in to help the round egg pokemon up. " I'm going to have to take them, huh?" She questioned looking back to the nurse with a sigh, already knowing the answer. " It looks like it, so long as you'll take care of them." Joy replied gently. Cypress wasn't going to neglect the babies of course, she'll take care of them, she'll just make remarks as she did so. " Alrighty, come on buds." She spoke to the babies, scooping up the Togepi then Wynaut. Once she was holding the other two, the Magby allowed her to pick him up. She was able to hold them together in her arms, against her torso together. She hadn't caught them yet, so she needed to explain to Wyatt the new situation. Elfana Aroway Elfana had been correct in her prediction. By the time Kiro was patched up the rest of her Pokemon were ready to go. She collected her Pokeballs, paid for the damage her Croagunk had done, and continued on her way. They had a long walk ahead of them and she didn't feel like wasting anymore time than she already had. For the time being she decided that leaving Pantalaimon in his Pokeball would be for the best. He had been knocked out during the Gym battle and had earned some rest. She would let him out to play for a while in a couple of hours. Kiro yawned, shifting in her arms so he could rest his head against her chest. Pantalaimon wasn't the only one who needed a nap. Were the Croagunk not so stubborn he would be in his Pokeball as well. She hugged her Croagunk close, earning her a small, tired croak in response. Her little group had just reached the edge of the city when they were stopped by a disheveled Lucario. Saiph had been forced to track her down after she had left the Gym. He hadn't expected her to teleport away- though how he didn't see that coming was beyond him. The Lucario had to resist the urge to glare at the Alakazam with her. Walter spoiled the stubborn woman far too much. He took a deep breath, calming himself before giving her a gentle pat on the head. Elfana blinked and stared at him. "Hello to you too." She replied, watching the Lucario curiously as he offered her a bag with one of his paw prints messily pressed against the front of it. Her brother's Pokemon gave her one more pat on her head before heading back into the city. He would find somewhere to relax for a while and resume following her later.
Elfana was left to stare awkwardly at the bag she had been given. "That was...interesting." She commented with a small frown. Was that going to happen after every Gym? A simple text would be enough of a response! Kana did not need to send his Pokemon to meet her. She sighed, adjusting Kiro once more so the Croagunk was resting on her shoulders instead. Saiph had gone so far out of his way to bring her something. She might as well find out what it was. Upon opening the bag she found a letter that she would probably ignore for now, a small assortment of items- one of which was a little bell that she was fascinated by- and three Pokeballs. Had she not recognized one of them she might have put off greeting the Pokemon inside of them until she had arrived in Eterna. She grabbed the Pokeball she recognized without a second thought and released the Pokemon inside. Elfana didn't give the Jynx a chance to collect herself before she started questioning her. "Why is he sending his Pokemon to babysit me? I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!" She realized she sounded a bit like a child throwing a tantrum currently but she didn't care. The Jynx slowly looked her up and down, noting the scs and bruises from the incident in the cave earlier in the day. "Clearly." She shrugged before crossing her arms. "Kana wanted to make sure you were taken care of, sugar. From the looks of it his concerns were justified." Elfana shakes her head. "I am perfectly fine!" Even if she wasn't she was going to continue to argue that she was. "Whatever you say. I suggest you finish pouting quickly though. You're stuck with me, dear."
Elfana groaned and shook her head. This was her life now. "Asshole." She muttered angrily, wishing Kana were right in front of her so she could snap at him for this nonsense. He did not need to send his Jynx to babysit her! She did not bother to argue further with Kayuki however. She picked her Croagunk off of her shoulders, hugging him again while he croaked softly at her in an attempt to comfort her. Not appearing petulant was a difficult task- one that she failed at entirely. The childish look was only made worse by the fact that she was cradling her Croagunk like a little kid would its stuffed animal when it was upset. She continued on in the direction of Eterna. Walter and Kayuki followed a little ways behind her. "She wasn't changed a bit." Kayuki smiled when she was sure Elfana wouldn't see her. "Not at all." Walter had to fight back a chuckle. He was glad that at least one of Kana's Pokemon was traveling with them. Taking care of their trainer was a difficult job for one Alakazam to do alone.

Once on the obvious battlefield, Kira let out Totodile and waited for someone to approach and accept her issued challenge. A guy did this, sending out a Geodude to test her. She couldn't help but laugh, though not in a cruel or unkind way. It just amused her to realize that both this Region and the Hoenn Region utilized the same type of Pokemon for their first Gym. This particular Geodude didn't do any better against Totodile than the other ones had, surviving the initial Water Gun attack only because of it's Sturdy ability and then falling to a deadly torrent of Hydro Pump.
Roark came as something of a surprise. He sent out an Onix, and while Kira desperately wanted to pit an Onix against an Onix, she'd reserved that fight for another Gym Leader. So she kept in Totodile to face the much, much larger enemy. Onix tried to end the battle quickly by slamming it's face right into the ground where Totodile was. It actually created a crater in the ground, half of it's face disappearing itno the hole and then re-emerging to look down at Totodile's motionless body... only Totodile wasn't there! Onix looked this way and that for it's enemy, but Totodile was hidden from it's view on his head. Jumping up into the air from there, Onix looked up to spot Totodile free-falling towards his face. A Hydro Pump straight down ended Onix's fight. It fell hard and Totodile landed on top of the soaked stones.
The Gym Leader returned Onix and sent out a fossil Pokemon. Totodile took one look at it and started laughing in it's scratchy-sounding laugh. This enraged craniados and sent it charging towards Totodile. Jumping right into the charge, Totodile stepped up on the hardened head and launched itself up, spun around in the air, and then used Hydro Pump right down onto it. With the dino washed away, Totodile jumped up into Kira's arms. She knew this meant he was spent, and wouldn't be up for another battle if the Gym Leader had any more Pokemon. "That's okay, you were amazing!" She praised the croc. "Have a rest." she returned Totodile, and then went to see what the Gym Leader had to say. TL;DR

He was the mine's safety supervisor was worried the two strong hydro pumps might have weakened the foundation but luckily it hadn't. He began his way across the field and towards the red headed young woman. He wasn't as bright and perky as the last gym leader, he looked not upset but unamused. "Hm. I don't think that was exactly a fair battle." He commented as he got closer to her. She was young but she clearly knew what she was doing. "At least I can say I lost to a formidable opponent." He replied trying to look on the brighter side of the loss. He pulled the badge from his overalls. "Here you go, you're pretty strong. You might have a strong future ahead of you. But don't count out the next few Gym Leaders." He warned her as he held out the badge for her. He turned around so the lower head on the tail could face her, and he stopped, looking to the Togepi on her ankle and back to her. " Yup. There is an ankle biting egg." She spoke with her arms crossed. " Why... is these here?" The tree asked her in a cautious tone, almost worried about the answer. In their line of work it was common to come across sad stories. " Well. I ran them to the Center after Phione wiped everyone out. Turns out that was enough for them, and they think I am their Mom. Joy guilted me into taking them saying they wouldn't eat without me." Cypress spat out clearly annoyed by the story. There was a pause before Wyatt began to laugh. Cypress waited a sec to let him get it out but the Pokémon continued. " It's not going to be so funny when I make you take care of them." She fired, shooting daggers at one of the few faces Wyatt had. The Tree didn't seem to be bothered by this but slowly regained his composure. " It's just funny to me, you being a mommy." The Pokémon teased. This caused Cypress' eye to twitch. She was ready to give the Pokémon a swift kick to the face but she noticed the quiet. She looked down and saw Wynaut had started to run off. She was much faster then the baby, as she scooped him up, earning her a "Why!?" She groaned looking at the tree. She set the baby down and pulled out three Pokeballs. She used them to catch the three babies. One after the other. Two of the three Balls didn't shake. Only Magby's, which shook twice before settling. " I'm going to the gym. I need to blow off steam." Wyatt finally caught up to her and looked at the cave entrance as well. "Well.. He is a rock type gym leader." The tree commented with a cautious tone. She leered up at the tree, but couldn't find anything to fire back at him because he was in fact right. It made sense for the Gym Leader. " Thanks for the chat, but I'm not going to make you walk through the cave again." She commented, returning Wyatt, knowing he was thankful for that. She knew his trunk was flexible enough to bend to give him enough allowance through, but she knew it had to be a strain on him to stay that way and walk. She began her walk and make her way through the seemingly never ending caverns. She began to wish she had Micha with them, he probably would think his way through the maze of caverns. She walked through the cave for about twenty minutes before she ran into anyone. She could hear distant working every so often and a rumble even less often. But she let out a sigh of relief when she ran into the worker. " Thank Arceus." She spat as she walked towards the male. " I've been walking through this stupid cave looking for Roark. Can you tell me where I need to go?" She asked him with an annoyed tone. The male looked her over, seeing she was a bit older then his usual challenger. " Sure, but you'll have to battle me first." He told her as he moved into the more open area. Cypress was a bit taken a back, but stood up straighter. " Well okay then." She commented as she made her way after him, keeping a good distance. He let out his Geodude. Now Cypress knew she had the natural advantage. She could easily wipe the floor with this guy and Roark with Wyatt, but that wasn't exactly laying low. She decided to let out her most enthusiastic Pokémon, Turtwig. " We're in another battle Turtwig, remember your training. Please." She spoke to the Turtwig who was already hopping with excitement. He was excited to get into what he thought was real battles. The Battle started quickly, The Gym Trainer called out for an attack, and the rock moved much faster then she was anticipating as it slammed into the sprout. " Lets go for a more special move. Use Absorb, try and put it's energy towards yourself." She called out. She had a torterra back at the base, so she knew how to train a Turtwig. The Sprout stood in a strong stance, and took a deep breath as he tried to pull the energy like she had said. The rock began an attack, but as he turned to rush him he was able to pull energy from the Rock as it struck him. Turtwig rolled back onto his feet with a grin. She had been in quite a few intense battles, so she wasn't all the concerned with a battle against the first gym leader. It really should be a piece of cake. Granted, she was using fairly young Pokémon to it might not be as easy as she thought. Roark made his way onto the field. " Ah, another Turtwig." He commented, a little too seriously. Cypress looked to the younger male as she stood back up, and a shrug. " If it's not broke, don't fix it." It didn't bother her they he made the comment. Surely it was frustrating having to battle one after the other, but it only made sense. It was the most available grass type for someone coming into the gym. Roark's first Pokémon did made Cypress worry for the little Pokémon. Turtwig looked up to the large snake with awe. That was the largest Pokemon he had ever seen! Bigger than Wyatt. " Be careful, Turtwig." She warned, but she didn't need to, Turtwig was not as confident as he was before with Geodude. Before she could call for an attack, Roark took his shot and called for rock tomb, causing the ground to whirl around the grass starter and once the rocks fell back, he was already shaking. " You have the upper hand, Turtwig. Use Absorb to get some energy back." She called out. Turtwig was able to pull lot of energy from the Onix. Whether it was because of its size, or weakness to him, it did alot of good for Turtwig. He returned the rock tomb but with another sap of energy the Onix collapsed. Turtwig began hopping around the field happily as he was proud of his win. But his win only lasted so long when he let out his Cranidos. The dino reacted quickly and ran forward to headbutt Turtwig full force, knocking him out. Cypress flinched and clinched her teeth at seeing him get knocked back. Sure, it wasn't a brutal battle at all, but it still was worrying to see the upbeat Turtwig unconscious. Cypress had to think. She knew she shouldn't throw out Wyatt, that wouldn't be fair without trained he was, and Phione was out of the question. That only left Snover, Larvitar, and Wynut that she had active. Wynut just hatched so that was out the window, and larvitar needed some help... that left Snover... She knew he was scared but maybe winning might help him get some courage. She let out her Pokémon, getting an interested look for Roark. The Pokemon did have a rocky exterior after all. The Snover looked around and shuttered. " You can do this; I believe in you." Cypress commented which ushered the snover out into the area. He hobbled out onto the field, but the Cranidos reacted quickly again and charged the Snover knocking him off of his feet. He let out a yelp and tried to get up and saw the Cranidos was circling back around. The Snover let out a yell of fear as he put his hands up and blasted an energy ball at him. effectively knocking out cranidos. Cypress leaned back surprised. " Wow, that was a surprise." She muttered to herself but praised the Snover after he ran back to her. When she landed next in Oreburgh City, she was beyond relieved to be back on the ground. Her heart still hadn't left her throat, and she had to sit on the ground for at least ten minutes before she was back to normal. "That..." She muttered, staring daggers at Charizard. "...wasn't funny." Charizard looked smug, as if she'd just played the best practical joke in the world. Kira huffed and fixed her wildly untidy hair before stomping away from Charizard and into the Pokemon Center.
Now the red-haired Trainer had been here to Oreburgh City in the past. She'd met this Nurse, and was even surprised to discover that Nurse Joy remembered her. "Oh, yes. Of course, you were here to battle the Gym Leader a while back." Kira nodded, showing the Nurse all the new badges she'd collected since the last time she was here. "That's wonderful, Dear." She said with a warm, genuine smile. Kira took out her stamp book next and requested a stamp. "Of course!" She said, retrieving her stamp and pressing it firmly to the page marked 'Oreburgh City'. "There you go." She waved as the girl thanked her and left.

Elfana Aroway As she had planned, they left as soon as the sun had mostly risen. She wanted to finish up the last few towns she needed to complete and didn't feel like dwelling in the previous town longer than she needed to. Pretty as the tower was, it wasn't enough to keep her longer than a day. Oreburgh City would see even less of her. She had already spent enough time in the city in her quest to collect her first badge. Eterna City would likely receive similar treatment- though that was mostly the result of her hating Eterna City. For now she decided to focus on the task at hand. She had a stamp to ask for. Elfana remembered the nurse from the Oreburgh City Pokemon Center, if only because her Croagunk had made her job difficult. She decided to leave Kiro outside as a result when she went to ask about getting her booklet stamp. The chances of the Toxicroak causing another incident were next to none but she didn't want to have to deal with any comments the nurse might direct towards her Pokemon. She wasn't in the mood for conversation. If the nurse recognized her, she didn't say anything. Elfana gave the nurse her booklet and thanked her after it was returned to her with her new stamp. Emiri sat atop Charizard’s saddle with some of her things out in her lap, taking care to keep things from getting caught by the wind and fluttering away. She held her journal, and a pencil now, starting to go over some new measurements and schematics for the saddles that she was going to need to design for Lynno and Salamence’s new forms, and she would need to make Flix his own saddle too with how well he’d been doing in keeping up with his flight practice and making his way around the world with them. She took the time that she had to watch each of them in their flight, noting the natural angles of their wings, the way their shoulders moved with each flap, where their arms or legs were situated in flight. She noted in particular for Lynno and Salamence that their flight patterns had changed pretty drastically with their new forms, and it was so interesting for her to be able to see that with her prior knowledge of their physiology.
In the near distance, having flown down from the North, Emiri and her Pokemon did see Oreburgh city coming up on the ground below, nestled at the base of one of the many extensions of Mt. Coronet. Emiri made her descent with Charizard to head towards the Pokemon center, and before too much longer she had entered into the Pokemon Center, met with Nurse Joy there, and was able to gain her next stamp for her booklet to finish off the western portion of the Sinnoh Region. As he exited the cave the light shone bright as he exited the dank air. Once again he had defeated a fairly easy pokemon but before he made his way to the gym battle he wanted to make sure that he was going to be more than solid enough in his party to be able to actually battle the gym. He had a feeling that he would send some time here in this city nestled at the base of the mountains. He would use this place to get up to speed experience wise as get his pokemon in a good state. He knew that there was a limit of how strong his pokemon would have to be before they stopped obeying him. The wild area around Oreburgh was his destination for now. After a quick stop at the Pokemon Centre he headed back out to the long grass near the outskirts of the city, he was more interested in growing before he even started thinking about going to the gym. He saw the gym, daunting in the side of the very mountain itself, it was more imposing than he thought. Most of the gyms in Hoenn were small affairs, but if this was the first gym in Sinnoh he was going to be in for it. He did a quick lookover the gym before deciding that he was going to want to take it down in one try as opposed to trying and failing. It wasn’t long before he had come across a wild machop, a fighting type that was definitely the pre evolution of Machamp. Another pokemon he had battled and knew well enough. Again he wanted to send out Senshi, Kiryu was getting some rest because Ken knew that he would be heavily leaning on Kiryu for the gym challenge so he definitely wanted to get the rest of his team some reps. Facing down the opposing fighting type, Senshi prepared for another wild combat. {Wild Machop Appears!}

“Quick attack!” Ken didn’t hesitate at all in giving out the order, Sen knew it was coming and had pretty much already shot off his back foot as the order went out. The battle was on. The quick attack landed hard, more or less finishing the battle in an instant. Before he could recover the machop swung a quick low kick backwards which did hit, but the newly held eviolite Ken had given Riolu allowed him to mostly tank it. “Ok let’s finish this off, Metal Claw!” He wanted to use his comrades' new move. Riolu’s claw’s glowed bright and he left three slashes in the opponent that knocked out the machop. As Quinn and her party neared Oreburgh City on their trek, they noticed the terrain getting more mountainous. Despite this, the valley in which the city was in wasn’t too difficult to get to as that part of the route remained mostly flat. Upon arriving in the city, they could see the many vents for the mines scattered around as well as the mountains that surrounded the city. As her favorite part of the city, Quinn made sure to make haste to get to the museum before it got too late. It was late in the afternoon by the time they all arrived at the museum. They entered and were greeted by the front desk attendants. “Welcome to the Oreburgh Museum!” They both greeted in unison. Quinn and her Pokemon waited a little while until they saw a young woman with platinum-colored hair walk down one of the staircases. “Ah, Quinn! It is so nice to see you again!” She said as her face lit up when she saw Quinn and her party. Crystal raised up her hands and shook one of Quinn’s emphatically. Quinn was unsure why Crystal, whom she could only vaguely remember, would be so happy to see her. Still, it seemed she was now a fellow female scientist which, in and of itself, required Quinn’s respect. “Crystal, it has certainly been a while. I don’t recall seeing you beyond… 8th grade? Where did you end up going?” “Oh, my family moved to Sinnoh. School was getting too stressful for me, so we ended up in Jubilife City, but I ended up going to school both there and here in Oreburgh City. You never seemed to let school bother you though! You always made it seem easy, no matter the subject. How have you been these past several years?” “I have been well enough. I recently started being mentored by Professor Juniper in hopes of becoming a Pokemon Professor one day. Before that, I did studies abroad in various places. In fact, Oreburgh City was one such place I quite enjoyed.
