After saying his goodbyes to the female trainer and her Pokémon, having been a help in learning about the beginning of being a trainer. He had hopes that their paths would cross again. As the Medicham teleported Skylar, he found himself distorted slightly from the teleportation. He had found himself in a nice quiet town after regaining his bearings. Right on the edge of Sandgem and the route just ahead. “ Alright... made it in one piece gladly. Best find the Pokémon Center to start. Getting directions would be ideal.” He stated as the Bayleef rubbed her head under his hand and cooed. She agreed with the idea he had. “ Alright lets get going then.” Skylar said once more before they headed off. Within time they eventually found the Pokémon Center. Greeted by Nurse Joy as he healed up his tired pokemon. Letting them rest while he got information about the area, even getting a good look at the region map. “ So that’s where the first Gym is, passed Jubilife City and onto Oreburg. Seems like a fair distance.” He nodded to himself before he got his Pokémon. He soon left the Pokémon center with Bayleef by his side when he noticed another trainer in the distance. He then began to approach the trainer with the Bayleef at his side. “ Hello there, I’m Skylar and I just arrived here at Sinnoh. So I am a bit new around here. I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m coming on in the wrong way or anything.” He stated nervously |

He was really interested in the different tasks that he was going to be given, and knowing that Rowan was the leading professor in studying Pokemon Evolution, frankly Copper couldn’t have found a better solution in his opinion. For goodness sake he didn’t even know that Cassio had different forms of evolution that he could have gone through, when Julian had two of them a dark type and a psychic type. If something as simple as that was lost on him, then really being able to learn about all of the different methods of evolution that Pokemon can experience was going to be a wealth of knowledge for him, and he was actually excited about it. This first task was for the basics of evolution, and Copper learned for the first time that many Pokemon just go through stages of evolution when they are given the opportunity to become stronger and train against other Pokemon. In this respect, Copper was given the notion that he could find a Pokemon that he felt he would like to learn more about as opposed to finding a specific species. He wasn’t sure what Pokemon that would be yet, but in traveling a bit north and starting to look at the different Pokemon he would encounter, he had a feeling he might find one that he would like to learn more about. Copper was about as prepared as he ever was to move forward for his new venture, Cassio at his side in his leash and service harness and Ostinato close behind with Calla flitting in the air around them when Copper heard footsteps moving towards him.
He looked with his pale milky eyes in the direction and found a figure moving towards him, with a shorter four legged Pokemon beside them, and then the figure spoke, introducing himself as Skylar. Copper was a bit taken aback by the interaction, he hadn’t exactly been looking to begin an introduction when he was getting ready to head off on his new path, but he stood there with Cassio beside him, glancing in Skylar’s direction.
”Uhm, hi…,” Copper began, kind of unsure of how to proceed. Was Skylar lost? Copper didn’t know the first thing about the Sinnoh region, it was lucky that Rowan had that Lilipup that was going to act as a sort of guide for him, and Calla was familiar with the region too since it was her home.
”I’m not from here either, I don’t know this region very well… If you’re lost, or need directions, Calla can help you out though,” he questioned, still a bit confused on the interaction as a whole, he wasn’t sure what he was being approached for, but Calla smiled at the mention and flitted through the air towards Skylar, her tails swaying in the air beneath her.
”This is my home! I can help you find your way,” the sprite offered with a chipper voice, looking to Skylar with her wide eyes. |

Lost? Skylar wasn’t really lost, more like trying to find out how he could begin his new journey. Being far from home, yeah it wasn’t easy feeling a bit homesick but it would help him grow as a trainer striving to be stronger. “ I’m not truly lost. I was just honestly going to look around to find and make some friends to travel with on a journey, perhaps find out what I want to do in my life and on this journey.” He said as he looked at the man, then to the small Pokémon. “ Oh wow your really cute!” He smile. “ I know it may sound weird about going up to people and looking for friends to travel with sounds weird but it would make the journey more fun.”

He wondered what Pokemon he would find a bit north of here in this new region, what he might want to learn more about and what his next task would be… Though there was the matter of Skylar that had just approached him, and it seemed that it wasn’t that he was lost or looking for directions at all. Ostinato stood behind Copper now, the otter’s head coming up above Copper’s as he looked down at the newcomer and the grass type, interested in the conversation just the same. Cassio however seemed indifferent beside Copper, always vigilant and always leery of new people, though granted maybe stopping and talking to a human that looked as harmless as this one wasn’t such a bad thing. So far things had been quiet enough since they left the human Ridley, but that didn’t mean that Cassio was ready for a whole new adventure knowing that they still were ill prepared as ever for the world that was out there.
”Aw, thank you! We’re getting ready to travel too! Copper is going to become a Pokemon Researcher,” Calla smiled brightly at the given compliment, her tails swaying contentedly beneath her as she held her small hands up to her face. Copper audibly sighed behind Calla however, he was never exactly keen on her speaking for him, when he didn’t really care to have the information divulged.
”Yeah… What she said,” Copper commented in a bit of defeat, though he had to digress, Skylar sounded like an honest enough guy, he had a lot of guts just walking up to any old person on the street to see if they were traveling.
”I’m not sure what your plans are, but I’ve got somewhere I’m planning to go, so you can come if you want? I am working on a research task for the professor, like Calla said,” he offered after a moment, a small smile coming on his face beneath his pale eyes.
”We have a new partner named Atticus! He knows the way through the tunnels under the region and we’re going to follow him,” Calla stated then, knowing that the entrance to the famous tunnels of the region was not too far from where they were at the outskirts of the city. She was very familiar with the decades and decades old tunnels that ran through the whole region and then some since they were part of the region’s history, but she had never spent the time to travel them for herself and wouldn’t want to end up getting lost. |

Skylar looked over to his Bayleef who seem rather curious about the different kinds of Pokémon that were around now. Especially the little floating psychic type. “ A Pokemon researcher? Honestly that’s pretty cool.” Skylar spoke as he looked back to Cooper noticing the pale whiteness in his eyes, he froze for a moment then realized. He felt a bit sad when he realized that Cooper was blind, even though, having the dream of being a Pokémon Researcher, even with that crutch, it was an inspiration. “ I guess my goal, would be like a normal trainer, taking on gyms, getting stronger, being the best trainer I can be. But with that. I was thinking of maybe opening a gym of my own.” He thought to himself rubbing his hand down the neck of the Bayleef who stood by his side curiously. Skylar was then shocked when he was offered to tag along. A small smile peered on his face. “ That sounds nice. Alright I’ll tag along, thank you.” He said bowing his head.” |

Elfana Aroway While waiting by the door, she set her Turtwig down and let him greet her Mareep and Croagunk. They responded with varying levels of enthusiasm. Luxanna found his excitement to be adorable while Kiro appeared to be exhausted by the little Grass Type already. He did his best to tolerate him, which was good enough for Elfana. They were making an attempt to get along with her new Pokemon. When Walter finally joined them outside he was holding a Pokeball against his chest and was struggling not to drop it. She took the Pokeball from him, assuming at first that a Pokeball had fallen out of her things at some point before she exited the lab. She didn't notice there was anything inside of it until she inspected the ball for damage from the fall. "What is this?" She asked her Alakazam curiously. Walter stared down at the Pokeball and shrugged. "We were given that in response to the gift Saiph sent along for him." He had no idea why or what was inside of it but an extra Pokemon could only be helpful to them right now. "I don't know whether I feel grateful for their assistance or bothered by it." She commented, releasing the second mystery Pokemon of the day from its Pokeball. The Cyndaquil tilted her head, looking up at her new Trainer while she processed the situation. She had been expecting the worst when she was sent out of her Pokeball and was pleased to find that she was looking up at an adult woman instead of a small child. She couldn't keep up with the excited energy of most little kids. Elfana was just as relieved by the Cyndaquil as she was by her. Her Turtwig was too adorable but she wouldn't have been keen on the idea of a second Grass Type. She still had one to get used to. "Hello there." She knelt down and petted her new companion's head. The Cyndaquil relaxed, letting herself be petted while she watched the other Pokemon. These were her new partners. They didn't look so bad...and then the Turtwig ran over and started trying to talk to her. She tuned it out, focusing on her Trainer instead. "Both of you need names." Elle said as she stood back up, straightening out her top and skirt while she tried to decide what to wall them. "Is Liandry alright with you?" She decided to name the Cyndaquil first. Given the way the Turtwig was bouncing in place from his excitement she was sure Liandry wouldn't be able to hear her name over the happy cries if she named her second. Liandry tested her own name in her head before nodding. She liked it. "Excellent." Elfana smiled and looked to her Turtwig next. She didn't get a chance to tell him his name before he was cuddling up to her legs and babbling away. She couldn't help but laugh. "Pantalaimon. That's your name." Her assumption about the happy cries had been correct. Pantalaimon was thrilled with his new name.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Elfana waited patiently for Pantalaimon to calm down before trying to speak again. The adorable little Turtwig continued to bounce in place at her feet but he was quiet for now. "Right. Pantalaimon and Liandry, meet Kiro, Luxanna, and Walter." She pointed to each Pokemon she was referencing as she introduced them. Kiro looked disinterested but both Luxanna and Walter were happy to greet their new companions. "You're both adorable." The pink Mareep smiled sweetly at the two small Pokemon. She was still laying next to the rest of Elfana's things. While the Mareep conversed with...mostly Pantalaimon since Liandry had no interest in talking, Elfana retrieved her phone, this time sending her brother a text instead of trying to call him. As conflicted as she was about her Starter being chosen for her, she felt it necessary to thank him. She loved the little Turtwig already. After the text was sent she began looking over their route, letting her Pokemon talk amongst themselves while she figured out where they needed to go next. Things had quieted down some by the time she spoke up. "Our first stop is Jubilife City. If any of you don't feel like walking along with me or dealing with the crowd let me know now. I'll return you to your Pokeballs." Luxanna would have no interest in walking so she knew she would need to return at least one of her Pokemon. A small "Cynda!" from Liandry brought the grand total of Pokemon that needed to be returned to two. Both the Mareep and Cyndaquil were returned and their Pokeballs were stored in her purse. This left her with Kiro, Walter, and Pantalaimon to keep her company. "If any of you would like to rest before we reach the city let me know." Kiro and Walter would likely stick with her the entire time but Pantalaimon was still small. She didn't expect him to keep up the entire time...though given how cute he was she was likely to end up carrying him instead of returning him to his Pokeball. Becoming so attached to a Turtwig hadn't been part of her plan for the day but it was an acceptable development all the same.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Elfana grabbed her bag and started off towards the exit of the town. Sandgem was a cute town but she really didn't want to spend anymore time there than she absolutely had to. She had places to be and a ridiculous quest to complete. If things went well then she would have no trouble securing her first badge within a reasonable amount of time. The first Gym in the region featured Rock Types if she remember correctly. Pantalaimon should be able to deal with them. He had the Type advantage. So long as she wasn't reckless about the Battle then he would do just fine. Of course she didn't plan to throw her Turtwig at the Gym immediately. He needed to get stronger first. So long as they continued along at a consistent pace a stronger Turtwig would be an achievable goal. She looked down at the small turtle following along right beside her, a big smile on his face. They were going on an adventure and he couldn't be happier. She found herself smiling along with him. All things considered, she was pleased by how things were turning out. Had anyone asked her earlier in the day how she thought things would go she would have rambled off the worst possible scenario she could come up with in the moment. Things still weren't great. She was in a region she wouldn't normally want anything to do with, her brother was being impossibly difficult, and, more importantly, she was far away from her lab. Pantalaimon made up for the first two things on that list. Her earlier anxiety had passed but being outside wasn't exactly something that appealed to her. She scooped up the little Turtwig once the arrived at the edge of the town, hugging him against her chest. When this was all over they could go home and never leave again. She was looking forward to the day. "One town down, several more to go." Counting the exact number of places she would need to pass through in order to get all of the badges she needed would only stress her out. She left Sandgem Town with Pantalaimon in her arms, keeping herself distracted by deciding what they would need to do in Jubilife City. Partners:

Of course Calla was the social butterfree and would talk to anyone that smiled at her, but he himself didn’t feel too confident in having someone traveling with him, especially when he was just getting started on something new. He wanted to get going though, regardless of what was happening, so he took a moment to release the small Lilipup that Professor Rowan had granted him, their guide through the tunnels of the region. The small normal type yipped as he looked up to Copper, and the puppy bounced ahead to begin leading the way as Copper started to follow, listening to the boy Skylar as he moved.
”You want to open a gym? How do you even do that,” Copper asked incredulously, and a little in disbelief as well, having never even given something so outlandish a thought.
”Do you have all the badges for one region? You must have been traveling for a really long time if you have the thought to consider something like that,” Copper commented, clutching Cassio’s leash as the Jolteon lead the way to follow the Lilipup. It wasn’t long before they came up on the open mouth of a tunnel that lead underground, and Copper could already hear the difference in the acoustics as they approached the opening.
”Well, this is where we’re going, Rowan says it’s easy to travel the region underground, there’s mining tunnels everywhere,” Copper offered before moving forward himself, entering the tunnel to start heading to the north of the region. |

Skylar too was deep in thought about this placing a finger and thumb on his chin. “ Well I did say it was more of a dream and goal for me, how I would do that? Well I hope to find out in the future.” He said following Copper. “ Actually no I've only recently started my journey. But don’t underestimate me. I’ve been learning about the basics and fundamentals of being on a journey.” He said looking to the man. “Already collected a badge from a gym battle from another region. That was before me and my friend went to an event in another region, after that I came here.” He said before watching as he entered towards the tunnel but something stopped him. “ Hold on... I feel something...” He stated before looking around. He stopped when a wind began blowing towards Skylar. He stood at the entrance of the tunnel when suddenly a Pokémon appeared out of seemingly no where! Keeping in mind it wasn’t just a normal Pokémon, but a Latios with a strange color to it. Skylar began to think to himself. ‘ One of the Legendary Eon Pokemon? Appearing here of all places? Something must be up.’ The Latios stared at the two before his eyes locked on Skylar. That’s when his arms came out from being tucked and gave a cry. “Laaaa Lat!” Skylar felt as if he knew what it wanted. The Latios was here to test Skylar. Perhaps Skylar would be able to attempt to befriend this Pokémon through a battle. Only one way to find out though. “Alright Amaura come on out!” He exclaimed as the icy Dino Pokémon came out of her ball and gave off a chilling breeze from her crystals. The Latios gave a smile before getting ready to battle. Not wasting any time the Latios creates a bunch of psychic orbs filled with energy and charged them right for Amaura who slid back taking the hit. At Skylar’s command, the Amaura sent a rock throw which sent the Latios onto the ground. The Latios got right back up before a purplish color surrounded itself as it used Stored Power, luckily not having any stat boosts the Amaura took the hit before she once again sent a rock throw to the Latios injuring it once again as it stayed on the ground. Skylar saw an opportunity and took a Luxury ball from his pack. “Go Luxury Ball!” He said throwing it. The ball hit the Latios on the head. The Pokémon knew it was beaten as the ball began to shake... once... twice... three time. *Click* the ball shined. “I... I did it! I caught Latios!” He smiled happily picking the ball up. He then turned to Copper and began to follow him into the tunnels.

She stopped into the Pokemon Center to have her team looked at and to collect the obligatory stamp. She had forgotten to do this at her last Pokemon Center, but it wasn't too big a deal since she hadn't been in a real battle for a while. The Nurse returned her Pokemon with a clean bill of health and a surprising bit of good news. "Everything looks good. I see your Dragonair recently evolved. Congratulations." Her warm smile met Kira's stunned face. How was that possible?
After all this time, she hadn't even been there to see it happen. She raced out of the Pokemon Center and let her newly evolved Dragonite. "Wow, look at how gorgeous you are." She said, admiring the golden scales. Then she hesitated. "Your wings..." They were quite a bit smaller than her Charizard's. She wondered how they could be powerful enough to lift the dragon now that she was so much larger than she had been. "Would you like to test them out?" She said, recovering quickly so as to not insult her own Pokemon.
Dragonair was definitely beyond ready. She may have hid it well, but watching the others evolve and get to fly around on their own wings had been hard on her. But now it was her turn, her time to shine. Kira climbed onto Charizard's back and took off. Then they hovered about thirty feet up and watched as Dragonite took off. Kira was stunned at exactly how fast she was now, because she easily out-sped the both of them. Charizard raced to keep up, but it was no good. Dragonair actually had to circle back to keep from being separated and losing her Trainer in the sky.

Hanna rubbed her thumb over her Pokedex. It was so smooth compared to her old model. She wondered if her experience in Flaoroma had smoothed her edges. This wouldn’t be like her last start- sputtering and fizzling. She certainly knew a great deal more about Pokemon now, and more importantly, she had a real goal.
“It’s time to make a to-do list.” Hanna told her Turtwig. Firethorn abstained from rolling his eyes- this time. She took out her notebook, drew the first tally and bounced her dot into the paper. “One! Get Stamps from Pokecenters.”
“Twig.” Firethorn plopped into the dirt. He rolled over on his side. This would take a while.
Double tally, dot. “Two! Assemble a Berry Growing Bananza of a team.”
That got the turtwigs attention. He rolled over to better look at her. He wiggled the little leaves of his crown. “Tur?”
“Yes.” Hanna reached down with her penhand to scratch his chin. “You’re not going to be the one doing all the work anymore. I just have to get you the right friends. If I want to have a lot of berries to work with, then I am going to need different partners to run a strong garden.”
“Turtwig?”
“No, I have no ideas on… how to do that yet.”
He rolled off his soft little shell back to his feet. It was a short distance to scuttle to sit at her feet and lay at her feet and rest his head in the crease of her notebook.
“I know you’re the best at growing things.” She kissed the top of his nose. “But gardens aren’t just about growing, and I’m not just about gardens. If you would kindly move your nose- thank you- Three! Develop berry potions. I’m serious about this and I mean it and I am going to need all your brilliant support, Firethorn.”

Hannah had long since learned to slow her gait to allow Turtwig to keep up with her. The peaceful pace had awarded her the opportunity to think on many things- mostly what she wanted for supper. The route to Jubilife was a short one, with few dangers. They could afford to be gentle in their pace. Considering the stories she had heard over the years, that was not likely to last.
“You know, I expected to know what to do when we left the lab,” Hannah mused. Turtwig only looked up at her. They gently shuffled through the grass. There was no way around it, anyhow. “Though this Stamp challenge doesn’t just include Sinnoh. It’s all over the world! We could go anywhere, Firethorn.”
“Tur!”
“We could see the beaches of Alola,” she rambled, “or the towers of Jhoto! Ohh, there are too many options now. I did not think this through...”
She pondered the revered landmarks of the different regions. She reminded herself that the point was not sightseeing, but study. Hoenn was well known for its cultivation of berries, but Alola had many reports of rich and fruitful soil. Kalos also sported a famous farm that boasted all natural mulches to enhance the richness of their crop… Kalos also had some lovely snow…
Turtwig ran forward and blocked Hannah’s path. It dropped into a defensive kneel, which perhaps on an evolved Pokemon would be frightening. Instead it was only cute. Hannah looked up from her thoughts to the trainer ahead of her. As their eyes met, the trainer held out the Pokeball at arm’s length.
“Gotcha!” The lass grinned. “I hope you’re ready to learn, because I’m about to school ya!”
Hannah realized she had entirely forgotten about battling. She was, in fact, not ready to learn. The same hesitance and anxiety rose up in her chest. She looked down at her starter- he had none of her hesitance. Firethorn only turned his head to give her a firm nod. This was going to be different from last time. There was no running from a trainer.

Elfana Aroway Being back in Sinnoh felt strange. Some small part of her expected to be opposed to the idea of traveling through Sinnoh again. The region more or less existed to make her miserable- or at least that was how she had originally felt about it. Instead she felt almost at ease. Things were back to her new normal. Or they would be after she was done collecting stamps in Sinnoh. She headed to the Pokemon Center from the station. Sandgem Town was small so there wasn't really much there for her to do. She wanted to move on to one of the bigger areas. Elfana greeted the nurse and handed her the stamp booklet. While she waited for her stamp, she took her Rufflet off of Walter's shoulder and placed him on her own. The poor bird wasn't sure what to make of the gesture. She really wasn't either. Elfana was convinced she would never get over her fear if she didn't face it head on though. Carrying Oryx herself was how she planned to do that. She took her newly stamped booklet back from the nurse and thanked her before leaving the Pokemon Center. Surprisingly, she didn't panic when the Rufflet moved so he could get a better look at her. She hoped that she would be able to keep that up throughout the rest of Sinnoh.Sinnoh

The station in Sandgem Town was bustling, there were more people here than it seemed like the town could handle, yet it still felt like a small town. The looming mountain range that he knew as Mt. Coronet could be seen in the distance from the raised train station. The weather in Sinnoh was slightly colder than it was in Hoenn, he had heard the winters up here were cold but it wasn’t winter yet so it wasn’t too cold yet but he would probably have to get a jacket if he was going to be for an extended period of time. Stepping out of the station he took a big breath of fresh air in and thought about how he would find out where the next gym was. After some asking around, most of the town seemed to be distracted by the Chingling Brothers Fair near Kanto which was the buzz of the town, they had fantastic prizes so that would be no doubt where he would head next if he was going to get something good to aid his journey, might as well start with the strongest start he can. As he explored the town and the outskirts he happened upon a wild pokemon near the outskirts of town. A small electric looking dog, pulling the dex, found that it was a shinx, and it didn’t look all that tough. “Start it off Kiryu!” He wanted to lead with the first pokemon he got, although technically he had Senshi first but he hadn’t noticed until after. The small green lizard looked down its nose at its opponent. “Let’s go with a pound!” With a cry the treecko jumped into action swinging its twin tails at the pokemon and sending it rolling into the dirt reeling. The pokemon struggled to get to its feet before falling over and being knocked out cold. Kiryu made short work of his opponent and dusted off his hands as he walked triumphantly towards his eager trainer who gave him a high five before returning him to his ball. Actually he was pretty unimpressed about the battle, he expected more from his first pokemon battle, but wasn't going to complain that one of his new pokemon was actually this strong. {Battle Summary(click)}

While still out in the outskirts of town he was seeking out another battle. When one of the stupidest pokemon he’d ever seen waddled out of the grass towards him. He definitely wasn’t going to give this thing the time of day, or even scan it with the pokedex, there were some things better left to mystery. Cringing at the pokemon before him he pulled out Sen’s ball and tossed it forward, the riolu was itching to fight. “Ok Sen, use…” As if the pokemon read his mind it shot off the ground quick as lightning towards the pokemon before him. He was actually pretty impressed, maybe the fact that the pokemon could sense the aura of people made it more likely to know what Ken was going to say before he said it. Dashing right through him like an old samurai movie. Leaving the fat pokemon turned over on its back, just as easy as the last battle. Riolu stepped on its stomach as it moved over it with little regard to the wild pokemon even being there before returning for the same high five treatment. He thought about moving the pokemon off the road that he was on, but instead opted to head back to Sandgem and not bother with the minor roadblock. {Battle Summary(click)}

An easy enough cleanup on the outskirts of Sandgem had put Ken in a pretty good spirit. His team was sharp for rookie pokemon and they made short work of everything they’d come up against so far, he was sure it wouldn’t be this easy the whole way but he wasn’t going to complain as long as his team was able to make mince meat out of his opponents like this going forward. While on the outskirts of town Kenji could not help thinking about this fair everyone was talking about, again he liked the idea of winding up with some stronger pokemon to get him started. He could always catch them but having access to more of a variety might be good, who knows what sort of exotic pokemon he could get his hands on. And it would be one last chance to slack off before the real journey began. The fair was a nice distraction but now that he was back in Sandgem he hard to refocus on his goal, Oreburgh city and the gym leader there, Roark. He had three pokemon to his name now, and he knew that the longer he travelled the stronger he would become. Making his way out of Sandgem he wanted to get the next city, Jubilife as quickly as possible and wasn’t going to waste too much time on Route 202 and try to get to the city as quickly as possible, he was travelling in the early morning now and wanted to put as many miles as he could today. He wanted his first day in Sinnoh to be a big one and actually hoped that he could even reach Oreburgh by the end of the day. Nomel Berry 21/24 The train had eventually come to its stop, and while Copper was a bit tired and listless from the quiet atmosphere of the train, he still felt revitalized at knowing that was coming as the train came to its stop. He’d had fun at the fair that he visited, though he didn’t stay long, he just couldn’t shake the itch that he wanted to really get back out there into the world now that he had done some reflection on the things that he had done so wrong in starting off. He’d eventually decided that since he had spent a little bit of time in Sinnoh and overall did like the region, that maybe it would be fun to try and challenge the Sinnoh gym league with his new team of Pokemon? He wanted to do it right this time, he wanted to really learn what it was to be out here being a trainer and earning the gym badges that they could train hard for, and this really felt like his best opportunity to do so as he got off the train with Cassio beside him. |
