In northwestern Unova, well before the region became prominent in it's own importing and exporting to support itself, Twist Mountain was a very lively and very fortunate mining community that allowed for Unova to start building itself from the ground up with all the valuable ore that could be found here. A few years ago though, the mine was left because it was presumed that it's resources had run dry, and now it is no longer used as a mining spot. There are many tunnels and caverns that span through the entire mountain because of the mining project, making for a sort of maze that can take hours or days even to navigate without proper guidance. The mountain has a sort of crater in the middle which created difficulty for the miners in the winter because it acted as a bowl with snow that would fall during the season, effectively trapping miners under mountains of snow which also aided in the end of the project.
