He is an amazing cook, and pretty good at cards.

Longs to prove himself, resilient, strong.
As a child, he was always serious about accepting as little extra help as possible. He learned to read lips, learned to do things for himself and refused help from others. He wants to appear, to be as normal as possible. The problem is; if he fails then he proves he couldn't do it and if he succeeds then he becomes known as 'that deaf kid that did it', and he doesn't want to be known only by his disability.
