Least Favorite Types: Bug, Poison, Ghost, Dark, Cool Moves, Smart Moves
Personality: Elizabeth is a loving person with a strong sense of empathy and morality. She strongly believes in "good" and "evil" being very simple and straightforward concepts, making it difficult to accept doing what you have to. She would much rather tough out any challenge or misfortune rather than put somebody else at risk to take care of herself. She's sensitive about family, getting defensive when asked about hers and is especially harsh on the subject of the Alolan Pokemon Salazzle. Liz looks forward, but more to run from her past than to charge on into her future.
History: Liz enjoyed a comfortable childhood on a small farm just outside of Goldenrod City. She was born to Arnold Morgan and his wife Daisy. Her father was a successful farmer who passed his love of Pokemon and life to his little daughter. She helped to take care of the babies, tried to help with heavy labor, and even tried to fight off wild Pokemon that tried to steal from her home. It never amounted to much more than a mess of red hair and tears, but she never backed down from an invader. One thing Arnold Morgan couldn't pass to Liz was a value of all kinds of life. Liz could understand how all creatures had a purpose and a right to be, but she couldn't abide things that hurt others to do that. It built up hard feelings toward many Bug-Type Pokemon--which she often caught stealing from the crops where she couldn't reach them--but this also built into a disdain for Poison and Dark-Type Pokemon who were sometimes the root of a problem whether they meant to be or not. The only exception was her father's Muk, named Pesker, who was able to extract toxins rather than dispense them. Old Pesker was a good influence on Liz for embracing all kinds of Pokemon, until the night that Liz's whole world changed.
Liz had just turned eleven. She was growing up and being allowed to help more as she got stronger. After a shipment from a far away region had come in with a smoldering crate, Liz was sent to the house while Arnold checked the rest of the supplies with Pesker and some volunteers. Nobody knows what happened after that, but the stowaways--a Salazzle and her harem--set fire to the barn and fled into the night in a panic. Liz tried to help, just like she always tried to help, but it amounted to nothing. Pesker oozed out of the barn, poisoned by the Salazzle he had tried so desperately to stop. At first Liz tried to help him, but when his normally spongy body spattered her with his toxic sludge she learned the dangers of Poison Pokemon firsthand. She was treated, with scars on her arm and chest, but Pesker succumbed to the poison. Only the other Pokemon ever came out of the barn.
When Liz learned her father had perished, she was devastated. She raged at the world for too long, and she blamed the Pokemon she had last seen for evil they had not committed. She cursed Pesker even when she learned he died trying to protect her father. She cursed Salazzle and Salandit for their part in the fire that took everyone. Most of all, Liz ultimately cursed her own father for leaving her the way he did. She knew better, understood that he would not have died if he could have, but the young girl could not reconcile her pain any other way. She attracted Ghost Pokemon as a result, plaguing the farm with bad luck and mischievous spirits until she could learn to cope with this life. If it hadn't been for the support of Goldenrod City and her father's friends, Liz might have run into a very unfortunate conclusion to this story.
Liz grew into an independent and defiant young woman. She fought with people and Pokemon even when it wasn't something worth fighting over. She argued regularly with her mother over the Litwick and Gastly that had decided to stay and keep Daisy company. They stayed even after Liz arranged for exorcists to chase out all of the Ghosts she had attracted over the years. It ended with a fight--and a loss--against a monk who trained with the priests. It was then that she was told why these two Pokemon would not simply disappear because she wanted them to. It took a lot more arguing, but Liz came to accept what she learned, and she convinced the priests not to tell anyone what happened. She was able to reconcile some of her feelings with the help of the farm's new guardians, but she never fully accepted their presence like she needed to. Instead, Liz figured it was time to start exploring Johto for a different life. One that didn't remind her of too many bitter memories and allowed her to celebrate life in the most positive ways. Liz chose to leave home and head to Newbark Town with the recently evolved Lampent--because the fussy candle wouldn't leave her alone!--where she would get a Pokemon of her own to travel with.
Appearance/Physical Description: Liz has bright red hair down to her waist normally tied in a pony tail or twisted up into a bun to keep out of her way. Her bright green eyes burn with passion and wonder. While she is not very tall, her long and slender legs make her appear taller from a distance. She has a runner's physique and a full figure that she normally has hidden in the form of baggy pants and a chest wrap that she feels help with traveling. She has chemical burn scars on her right hand, along her right forearm and over her right breast from Pesker's sludge. These scars do not hinder her motion, but they are unsightly and she often wears gloves to hide the disfigurement.
