"Yeah, we all have one, and we go inside of it to rest or if we're going somewhere really far, or sometimes if Emiri goes inside a building cause it's hard to fit inside a building sometimes," Flix added, completely comfortable with his Pokeball and the idea of it all.
"Do I have to have one too," Cerian asked hesitantly, not sure of how he felt about being inside one of those things.
"It would be best. Some of the Pokemon on our team can't fly like you, so when we need to go somewhere, they stay safe inside their own Pokeball so that we can bring them with us and not have to worry about leaving them behind," Azuran answered.
"It's really comfortable, and it doesn't even hurt, see watch," Flix commented, offering to demonstrate as he looked down to Emiri, and she took the cue to take out Flix's Pokeball and return him for only a moment as his energy was drawn into the device. Cerian watched in absolute horror though as Flix disappeared into the ball that Emiri held in her hands, but after a moment Emiri pressed the button to open the device, and Flix appeared in the same energy as he looked down to the Replisol.

Starting to feel a little bit better about the idea, especially if it was only temporary, Cerian was almost willing to go into the Pokeball that Emiri held, but then the idea of it potentially not being so temporary struck him. How was he supposed to be able to leave whenever he wanted to like she said if he was supposed to go into one of those balls? Would he be attached to it forever even though he wouldn't be with her any more and she'd be able to put him in it even if he didn't want to go back?
"Is it permanent," he asked another question, still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing as he looked back to Emiri.
"No, it's not permanent. When you say that you want to leave, I just have to press a button and it will be empty again and you won't have anything to do with it any more," Emiri answered, being completely truthful and honest about every inquirie he made. She wanted to make sure that he felt he could trust her, with everything as they started training and traveling together even if it might be for a short while, and it all started with the intial interaction. She would answer any question he had with complete honesty to make sure that he had the best understanding of this new part in his life, it was the least Emiri could do for him to make him feel more at ease.

At Charizard's words though, she caught Cerian's attention as the small Replisol looked up to her with a quirked head and confusion in his silver eyes.
"Team? I thought you said you were a clan like how I live in? What is a team," Cerian asked, having never really heard the term before and didn't know what to make of it. Did he want to be a part of a team? What did it mean to be a part of a team to these Pokemon?
"It was just an expression, but we are a team, those of us who have been traveling with Emiri for a while now," Charizard commented, though her slightly pointed comment didn't seem to phase Nimbus at all whom still remained by Emiri through this whole encounter.
"But what does that mean," Cerian questioned again, not understanding what the point in calling themselves a team was, it wasn't as though they were using the word clan or family and he knew what those collective terms meant.

The Replisol listened to Emiri as she explained what the term team meant and what it meant to be a team, and he watched her take out a small obeject as she opened it and inside were many shining small objects that were laid inside nice and neat. He leaned down and sniffed at them as he looked at them with his shining silver eyes before he looked back up to Emiri.
"Why do you battle these strong Pokemon? What do these gym things do," Cerian asked, sitting up right again as Emiri took back her badge case.
"Well, there's a lot of reasons why someone might want to become a trainer. Some just want to become the strongest and want to be able to prove their power to everyone," Emiri explained, having met many a trainer like this in her travels that were really only in it for the power and the strength, not for the journey and the experiences that came with it.
"Some leave their home when they're very young because they want to become friends with all the Pokemon they can," she went on, having met some younger trainers too that were no older than she was when she had started out on her journey.

At Cerian's question, Emiri had to stop and think for a moment. It had been so long since she had left her home, it was almost about four years now that she had started her journey in Kanto. She had so many reasons for doing what she did now, the things she worked for and the things she aspired to do, but there was still the one reason why she had left home in the first place all that time ago despite everything that she had been through now.
"Well, I wanted to see the world when I was younger. I heard so many stories about what other parts of the world were like and the Pokemon that you could find there, and I wanted to know what it was all like for myself. I wanted to travel and see things that no one else could, and I haven't gone back home since I left," Emiri answered, almost having forgotten really the most simple reason why she had left home in the first place. Now a days it seemed that she had so much more drive and so much more to accomplish and take care of than just seeing the world and traveling to every place that she could, but in that moment it was nice to remember the simple things and the reason that started all of this in the first place.

"So are you good at doing this trainer human stuff," Cerian asked after a moment, wondering now what kind of credentials it took to be considered a good human trainer. Emiri looked up at Charizard and Azuran who chuckled lightly at Cerian's question, and Emiri herself laughed just a little bit.
"Maybe, I guess? I mean, I'd like to think so I suppose, but there's always someone who's going to be stronger than me and my Pokemon, and then someone who would be even stronger than them," Emiri answered lightly.
"I've seen Emiri and Charizard battle some really strong Pokemon before, and then they won, so they're really strong," Flix responded, having been with them for a while now and he had seen a pretty good battle here and there between Emiri and another trainer and their Pokemon.
"It's not about being the strongest though, it's about bonding with your team and knowing that whatever happens, you did it together, that's what makes someone a good trainer I think, that no matter if they win or lose, they still feel like they learned something," Emiri replied, knowing that it wasn't always about winning and it wasn't always to be the strongest.

Laughing again at Flix's ever present energy and aspirations, Emiri looked up to the yellow Flygon with a smile.
"Yes, you too Flix, you can challenge a gym leader too," Emiri replied, knowing that it had been such a long time since she had been in a gym battle before. She had defeated Blue what was now over a year and a half ago, and since she had obtained all of the badges for the Kanto Region, she hadn't challenged many more gyms besides. She did still have a few badges from the Sinnoh Region when she was traveling with John those years ago, and she had contemplated returning to the Sinnoh Region to at least gain the rest of its badges and see what else the region had to offer, but she just hadn't quite made it there yet to try for the other five badges.
"We haven't been to a gym in a long time, not since we challenged Blue and decided to try for the Elite Four," Charizard commented, having thought about it too and how long it had been since they had fought a gym leader and tried for their badge, remembering their victory in Viridian City and then the announcement that Emiri made when they all returned home for that short bit of time in Pallet town.

Cerian at least knew what the term Champion meant, or at least in his structure in his clan that he could recall. Twice a year, at each solstice, the clan leader held a tournament among the Nightrial of the clan. It was a test of strength, stamina, agility, flight and attack power for all of the Nightrial who wanted to participate. They would fight in matches of one of one all of them and the Nightrial that lost would be eliminated, and then the ones that were victorious would fight the next until there were only two Nightrial left. The Nightrial that won, the best over all, would become the head sentry for that season and lead all the scout missions and patrol the mountains of their territory with the other sentries in their charge. It was a great honor among their clan, head sentry was one of the highest ranks that any one of them could receive within the clan, and Cerian had wanted to at one point try his hand at becoming the head sentry since the entire clan would watch the tournament every solstice. He was familiar with the term Champion and what it could mean to be a champion or challenge a champion, and he could imagine the work that they must have all put in to be able to have a chance to challenge this Champion of the Pokemon that they had mentioned.
"And what happens, if you can defeat the Champion," Cerian asked after a moment, wondering then what this end goal was and what would happen if someone achieved it.

It had been a few days now that Emiri had spent on the reserve, almost about a week since she and Azuran had flown in from Kanto. It felt good to her to be out like this again, in the wilderness with nothing happening otherwise. Emiri hadn't expected though all of the things that had happened on the reserve thus far as she had had a lot to work out and discover. She hadn't expected to meet Nimbus who was slowly integrating himself into the construct of their team and gaining the friendhip of her other Pokemon, nor was she expecting having to tend to an egg while they spent their time on the reserve. Nimbus had since taken charge of the egg during the day while Kovu went out to search for the mother and work on getting stronger again, and while they still weren't having any luck on being able to find the mother of the egg, she could at least tell that Kovu was getting stronger again. His energy levles were slowly but surely improving and he was becoming more responsive to things and less tired. However, since his focus was mostly on finding the mother and going out into the fields every day, he hadn't had much time to get to know Cerian whom Emiri was delighted to meet. The initial reaction to Kovu seeing another of his kind was as Emiri could have expected, he was surprised, and shocked, and they spent a fair amount of time sniffing at each other and getting used to the others presence. He didn't show any immediate signs of happiness or elation, but each evening that Kovu did come back from his searching, Cerian waited for him, and Kovu greeted him in kind, as though Cerian were already starting to look up to him. Cerian was making Kovu more social it seemed too as the Replisol hung around Kovu every morning before they all got ready to split up for the day, and Emiri was happy that even though she didn't see the biggest or immediate change in Kovu's demeanor, it was something gradual that she could see, and Cerian was definitely helping. Over all, Emiri spent the rest of her time on the reserve working with her Pokemon, making sure that Charizard was improving, and knowing that she was feeling better than she was in recent times, and as she sat in the grass with Nimbus and Charizard, Azuran and Cerian while the rest of her Pokemon went out to train and practice for the day, she felt calm and at ease for the first time in a long time.
