Name: Kintaro Satoshi (introduces himself backward as Satoshi Kintaro)
Nickname: Mr. Satoshi, Sato, Kin, Kinny (don't call me that...), Kinta
Gender: Male
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 153
Age: 37
Birthday: July 9th
Home Town: Lumiose City, Kalos
Orientation: Unsure
Likes: Data, Calculation, Comic Books (Secret), Spreadsheets, Logic, The Romantic Ranger (Secret, Book series), Motivating Partners, Coordinating Projects
Dislikes: Time Wasted, Incomplete Jobs, Abusive Trainers, Pokemon Contests, the Blame Game, Discordant Teams
Fears: Kintaro claims to only be afraid of his boss, Machamp, and a day when he wasted every second. In reality, he is only afraid of his boss. His true and secret fear is that this will be the rest of his life. Even resigned to his fate as a service agent, Kintaro yearns for more even as he believes he doesn't have what it takes. He is mildly afraid of Fossil Pokemon, but he's working on that fear because he knows it's unreasonable.
Goals/Dreams: Get some Pokemon captured and get back to work.
Status: Trainer
Theme Song: Coming soon...
Favorite Types: Steel, Poison, Dark, Fighting
Least Favorite Types: Dragon, Psychic, Rock, Ground
Personality: Kintaro is a middle-aged salary man. He's quiet and submissive most of the time, but very stubborn when it comes to his work. He doesn't even want to be going on this adventure! In his life he's never achieved any goals or dreams outside of getting a job and being good at it. He's an empty man with no aspiration left. This manifests in the way he carries himself and regards most Pokemon Trainers as useless 'entertainers' with no concept of responsibility or reality. He's secretly jealous of all of it and does his best to hide that envy with this cold attitude. The real Satoshi Kintaro is hot-blooded and energetic, looking for a good time in everything he does. "Kinta" has been missing out of his behavior for so long that Kintaro has begun to believe that side never really existed.
History: So, you're here for a story. Good for you. Maybe once I'm finished you'll get to work and make yourself useful.
Once upon a time, a little boy was born in Cyllage City. He was a bright-eyed young lad who dreamed of action and romance. And who wouldn't with someone like The Gym Leaders encouraging adventure? Little Kinta grew up excited for the day he would get to be a Pokemon Trainer! He studied Pokemon every day so he could master the arts of training and combination, just to be that much cooler than the other children. It was a wonderful life that little boy led. Anyone could see that he had the whole world in his back pocket.
This is the part where you expect me to tell you "and he became a great trainer." This is where I should probably say "and he lived happily ever after." This is the part where you're wrong. That little boy died and that's that.
It was a terrible accident. Nobody was at fault. It was a perfect storm of calamity. Oh, if only Kinta had listened to his mother's Absol. She knew. She always knew. So, Kinta ran out like he did every day and borrowed the school teacher's Sandshrew to practice battling with a Ground Type Pokemon. It went well for a while. How could you foul up something as easy as Sand-Attack, and Mud Slap after all? Sandshrew was a good friend of Kinta's. They played together a lot, but this was the first time Kinta ever wanted to try and battle with his buddy. Cyllage’s former leader was out training with his team up on the cliff. As it turns out, Tyrunt is quite heavy. Sandshrew is quite adept at digging. I think you can connect the dots from there. Tyrunt stumbled, Sandshrew was attacking the cliff face. You couldn't have planned a more perfect mishap. Tyrunt fell off the cliff and onto that little boy and his friend Sandshrew. Nobody came out the same. Sandshrew and Kinta were crushed, but nobody was killed. Tyrunt was off of the boy as fast as that big head of his could manage, but the damage was already done. Kinta spent the rest of his childhood getting treated for his injuries and the long term effects. Sandshrew never got better, and was paralyzed for the rest of his life. Kinta was able to regain his legs after a horrible battery of treatments that didn't help how he felt.
Satoshi Kintaro grew up with a hard dose of reality to set him straight. Little Kinta died that day, and he's just fine in his metaphoric grave, thank you very much. He got a job as a coordinator--not that kind of coordinator--and has made a comfortable living off of partnering workers with Pokemon who can best solve their problems. It wasn't until his employer, a beast of a woman named Alyssa Ruka, started talking about time off did Kintaro realize something was very wrong with his current life. Not that he wanted more out of it. Oh no, I think I've made that quite clear. He discovered very quickly that Ms. Ruka was secretly a Djinn set out to destroy everything Kintaro had built in his life.
And that's my story. That's why I'm out here, camping at Vaniville Town with Attica. That's this Pawniard Ms. Ruka lent to me. She's a paper shredder, and very good at it. Apparently, Ms. Ruka believes I'm going to run away, so Attica here is tasked with stabbing me in the ankles if I try to go anywhere else. Apparently it's legal to ban an employee from working, too. I swear, this mad world I live in is determined to finish what that Tyrunt star--Ouch! Attica!
Appearance/Physical Description: Kinta is a somewhat slim fellow, but by no means is he lean or athletic. He has short black hair trimmed neatly with plain black-framed glasses covering his dull brown eyes. Whenever something exciting is happening or there is injustice to be fought, a little fire can be seen shimmering behind them. He has a slim build with small shoulders and just a little extra fat to fill out his shape. He has a deep scar on his belly from the day Tyrunt fell on him and nearly paralyzed him and many more scars along his back and belly from the treatments he had to undergo to recover fully. He moves deliberately, a habit developed when his joints struggled to work again and still sometimes cause him pain to this day. Right over his nose is the only scar on his face which he got from some of his early career as a "Junior Ranger" trying to convince his neighbor's Purrloin to be his sidekick.
