Personality: Pretty laid back, but pretty nervous when it comes to meeting new trainers. However, once he gets to know someone, he is pretty caring, and will do anything for them if he thinks that it will not cause any trouble later on. He is also pretty by the book when it comes to following the basic rules of the Pokemon World.
History: Ever since he was five years old, Matthew has always wanted to experience what life as a Pokemon trainer would be like. Though, it seems like every time that the day comes when trainers receive their Pokemon, something always pops up around the house that keeps him from receiving his Pokemon. And what for? To help out a family member, right? Well, the first few years when Matthew was eligible to receive a Pokemon, he didn't seem to mind helping out his family members with problems that they might have. However, as the years went by, he started to wonder if he'll ever get an opportunity to receive a Pokemon. To add onto things, when he was seventeen, he had to look after his gravely ill mother. Though all he was doing was delaying her silent death as she died a couple of months later. This upset him so much that he decided to leave his family house and go to live on his own. Ever since, he had been spending the better part of his eighteenth year trying to cope with the grief of having to watch his mom die. It even got so bad that he entirely skipped out on receiving a Pokemon on his eighteenth birthday. Entering his nineteenth year, he has since accepted that he'll never see his mom again, but he hasn't shed a tear since the year prior. Instead, he is focusing on making sure that he doesn't miss the day when Pokemon are being given out to trainers.
Appearance/Physical Description: Matthew, by no means, is a skinny fellow for someone who is nineteen years old, but he isn't someone who has a really big belly either. Any time he is seen, he sports an orange shirt; a blue sweater covering most of it; some brown shorts with green stripes, a baseball cap with a picture of a Pikachu in the front, red shoes, and a gold-plated watch on his left arm. He has blue eyes, brown hair in a bowl cut hairstyle, and a nose that starts off in a triangular shape at the bottom and ends in a rectangular shape at the top. His skin tone is a medium shade of white, and his eyebrows are slanted at a four degree angle. On his left cheek, there is a tattoo that reads 'Pokemon and Humans Together 4 Life.'
