Alice headed to the shore as the clock struck midnight. She knew she was going to regret staying up this late, again, when tomorrow finally came. She had had no luck finding a boat that offered motel survives, so walking up the cliff path to the pokecenter was the only option left. It was a bit of a hike, but she made it up with no issues, and by the time she rented a room she had only enough energy to flop onto the bed. She laid there for a long moment before gathering her strength to get changed for bed, as well as release her pokemon into the room to relax. Then, energy spent, she flopped back into the bed and dozed off immediately.

As the sun shone through her window, Alice woke with a groan. For a moment, she debated rolling over and going back to sleep. However in the end she knew she'd never actually fall back asleep, so why waste time trying to avoid the unavoidable? She sighed and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, rubbing her eyes with a yawn before getting to her feet. She set about getting ready for the day and returned all but Nyx and Valefor back to their pokeballs before heading out. Time to start a new day.

Alice made her way back down to the docks warily. Staying up late two nights in a row and travelling was beginning to ware her down, and by the time she reached the last step she had to sit down for a moment and just... exist. It took her fifteen minutes to make it to the restaurant boat from yesterday and get a table to relax and drink her coffee. She had a lot of time to kill before the TR boat would arrive, yet she had no idea what to do with said time. For now, she would just enjoy her coffee and worry about that later.

Alice finished off her second coffee and rested her head on the table for a moment before taking a deep breath and getting to her feet. Someone at the next table had been talking about trainers battling at the shore, which if true meant Alice might have found something to pass the time. She headed off the restaurant boat and made her way back to the shore, having no trouble finding said trainers. Two trainers were in the middle of a battle already, and one more waited on the sidelines. Alice joined the one on the side-lines and waited for her own chance to battle, eyeing the two that were already going at it. Finally, some real battle experience.

Alice waited as the battle raged on, beginning to grow a little nervous as the minutes passed. It seemed they were only doing one on ones however, and soon the battle came to an end. The guy waiting beside her gave her a glance and smiled, gesturing to the make-shift battlefield.
"Want to have a go, lass?" At her nod the man took position opposite her on the field. It was time to see what she was made of!

Alice smiled in relief as Nyx won the first battle. She had been a little nervous considering the area they were in, but Nyx proved to be stronger in the end, leaving her no reason to worry at all. As one of the trainers that had battled earlier took up the spot across from her Alice felt a little more confident. She stood straighter as the woman sent out an Ivysaur, Nyx had type advantage!

As she won once more Alice could feel her confidence grow. Though, this time it had been really close. Alice healed up Nyx and prepared for the last fight, crossing her fingers that they'd manage to pull off a win again. This time it was a male with a rather cold look on his face. The look unnerved her, even more so as he sent out a Parasect. He was up to something, but she had no idea what it was.

As the battle came to an end Alice sighed. It had been a stressful battle, and Alice's first taste of a control-type trainer to boot. Nyx growled irritably and returned to Alice's side, clearly not happy about how much she struggled. Not wanting to push her luck, Alice smiled to the other trainers and quickly made an exit while she was on top. The last thing she wanted was to fight the Parasect trainer again. Though, she did learn a few things. She pulled out her phone and began researching sleep inducing moves as she made her way back to the docks, maybe it was worth looking into this control-type style.

Alice headed along the boats to find something to do. Today there seemed to be even more boats than yesterday, and Alice immediately checked out the newest addictions.
"Hello! Miss, do you happen to be a trainer?" Alice stopped and glanced to the older man adressing her, a little caught off guard. "Yes, I am. Can I help you with anything?" She replied, walking over to him and offering him a smile.

"Do you happen to have a poison type on you?" As she nodded the man's face brightened and he ushered her into the large boat-store which seemed to be some kind of tailor. "I was hoping to find someone with a poison type to help with our fabric dye. We're trying out a new method that involves the use of pokemon poison." The man spoke quickly and excitedly, causing Alice to smile.
"That sounds interesting, I'm sure my Nyx would love to help out." At her words Nyx gave a hiss but relented after Alice bribed her with a treat when they were done. The day had barely started and already they had found themselves another job!

Alice was led into the back of the boat where three large vats were stored against the wall. Fabric soaked in what appeared to be water in each of the vats, and as Alice got closer she began to understand what they needed to do. Nyx also understood, though she was a lot less happier about it. The Grimbit strode over to the first vat and eyed it suspiciously before opening her maw and leaning over it, letting a thin jet of poison spray from her exposed fangs.
"Quite the interesting poison type you got there, I've never seen one like it before." The older man remarked, watching Nyx in awe.
"She's a Grimbit, they're apparently very rare." Alice replied simply, not wanting to let on that she actually didn't know too much about Nyx either. She'd learn soon enough.

As Nyx's poison seeped into the water of the first vat, the clothing started to take on an interesting fusion of blues and purples. Alice watched in awe, surprised by the odd mixture of colors.
"This is what I had hoped for!" The older man spoke up beside her. He went to work turning and shifting the shirts around in the poisoned water before taking them out one by one and hanging them up, careful not to touch them directly.
"Won't that poison those who wear them?" Alice asked a little skeptically. They looked cool, but they were made from poison after all.
"No, no, no. As it dries the poison will evaporate, what's left will be harmless."
"I see.." Alice took out her notebook and jotted down what the man had said, just in case it became useful later on. If not, well at least she had learned a new interesting thing.

As the two humans talked, Nyx moved onto the next vat. She ran her tongue along her fangs for a moment before leaning over it with a sigh and releasing her venom. Personally, the Grimbit saw this as a waste of her resources. It would take her an entire day to replenish this venom. Still, she wanted the sweet things Alice had promised her, so for now she bared it and did her job.

Nyx soon realized she could manipulate the design on the shirt by how she struck the water with her venom, and to amuse herself she tried different tactics in the second and third vat. She gave a purr of satisfaction as the man pulled out a stripped shirt from the second vat and a dotted one from the third. Nyx quickly decided she was good at this dyeing thing.

Nyx gave a proud huff and returned to Alice's side with her head high. Alice grinned and thanked her before saying her goodbyes to the old man and collecting her payment. Satisfied, Alice headed out to the dock to await the TR boat.

Alice wandered the docks and visited a few shops here and there. Eventually she managed to find a sweets shop, at which they got a table and she ordered some sundaes for herself, Nyx, and Valefor. Alice relaxed back and enjoyed her ice-cream while keeping an eye on her pokemon. Nyx sniffed the cold substance for a moment, feeling a little cheated until she tried it and found it to be delicious. After that, she practically vacuumed up the sundae and was left with a brain freeze, of which she announced via a loud scream that shocked Alice and the other customers. As it subsided, Nyx glared at the empty plate in front of her, furious it had the audacity to hurt her like that. Meanwhile, Alice and Valefor snorted, clearly trying hard not to laugh at the Grimbit's antics.

Valefor took his time with the ice-cream, clearly learning from Nyx's mistakes, and by the time he was done Alice had finished as well. The three headed out and found that the day had progressed rather quickly. The TR boat should be here any moment! Alice could feel her excitement building as they walked to the end of the dock and waited. Here was the only space available for more boats. The rest of the dock was packed so thickly Alice found it amazing the boats didn't damage each other, even though she knew the captains probably had years of experience to help them. Still, it seemed pretty high risk to squeeze in closer to shore, so here they would wait. It had to be soon, right?

Alice waited patiently at the end of the dock, her legs dangling over the edge and swinging to and fro. On the horizon she could just make out two boats coming their way, though if one of them was the TR boat she had no way to tell. She squinted into the light for a long moment before one of the boats drew close enough for her to make out the sign along it's side. Seaside Wares. Nope, not what she needed. The second boat though, a bright red thing with a huge black sail, soon came into view. TR & TM Barter, that was it!

Alice hopped to her feet and grinned as the red boat sailed into port. She waited as the owner set it up and was surprised at how easily he turned it from boat to store. Finished, he smiled at her and gave her a nod, gesturing for her to step inside. As she did so, she was met with walls stacked with TM and TR cases taller than herself, all organized by typing. It was an amazing sight, and for a moment she was a little taken aback. It took her a solid half an hour of sorting through the moves before she finally decided on Psychic Fangs and Close Combat for Valefor. After that she paid the man and headed back for the shore. It was time for some training!

Alice spent the afternoon working with Valefor on his moveset, showing him the TR videos and helping him figure it out. By the time night began to fall Valefor had both new moves down, for the most part. Alice watched carefully the entire progress, memorizing it all to jot down in her books. With this she had completed her research task! Now all that was left was to return to HeaHea and await a new task.
