The strange blonde was definitely a step in the right direction. She was even encouraging the new trainer against her own deprecation. It was a momentary shift but Liz visibly bristled at being called "Red." She didn't speak up about the annoyance and did her best to tamp her reaction down. This was a new person, it wasn't her fault she didn't have Liz's name. And she went right ahead and fixed that already, so she didn't need called "Red" again. She smiled right after, appreciative of someone else with the gumption to want to assault somebody for scattering the good times to the winds. "Ha. I've heard that a few times, but I gotta admit you're someone I believe." She said with an air of congratulation in her tone. Her behavior stuttered much like her voice just a moment ago. Her gloved right arm twitched before she raised her left arm, balling her hand into a fist and holding it up in hopes that Ridley would return the gesture and bump fists with her. Liz was right-handed, but her scars forced her to adapt to left-handedness. The excitement of meeting an aggressive girl like Ridley had her slipping up all that hard work. Her smile fell onto Jessica after being reminded of the evolved form's proper name. "Yes! Jynx! I really should have that memorized by now." She was admittedly embarrassed that she hadn't already, but Jessica had certainly made her feel better about forgetting. In her defense, Angelique and Josette were Smoochums. Their evolved forms only came up sometimes.

Liz adjusted her position whether Ridley reciprocated the fist bump or not, giving Jessica a little curtsy in greeting. "Thank you. I think they're pretty great." She reached up behind her head to stroke her Spinarak's head. "They're strong too." Spike shrank into his trainer's hair again and tried to hide behind her neck. Jynx wasn't exactly a good day for a Spinarak if things came to blows but he was already wrestling with his guilt over the attack on the Duchess. He should confess, let the truth out and let Demetri know that the Needle wasn't evidence of anything but a useless Spinarak who couldn't aim. Even if Jessica couldn't read his thoughts precisely his fear and shame were coming off in waves like a ship tossed about in a storm. "Oh? Yep! I'm in the Johto League now! I only have the Zephyr Badge, though." She was proud and then promptly demure about her progress. She had a team that was halfway over leveled for a fight with Bugsy and while she didn't know for sure how strong her Pokemon all were, she was certain that at least two Badges were pretty much waiting for her to claim them. "I grew up near Goldenrod City. Have you ever been? It's beautiful!" Liz declared with pride glowing in her statement. She loved her home town even if it did leave her with some bad memories. It wasn't the city's fault her father died. Instead of letting that thought get to her, she smiled at Ridley. "How about you? Jessica looks pretty tough. You must be way ahead of me." Julian was nearly at the end of his Johto journey, and Ridley felt a little like her younger companion. She probably had a similar Badge count, if not a complete set already. The redhead was more eager to hear about her new companion than share about herself. She should introduce her Pokemon. Belle was already expressing her annoyance at being neglected while Leah kept an eye out on Demetri. Spike was perfectly content to be ignored. Princess looked confused, her reptilian eyes focused mostly on Jessica whom she found a bit intimidating. Liz's Salandit was new to the wide world of Pokemon training, and Marcellus nor Julian had made her feel at ease about the future that might hold. Growing strong was good, not being all cracked up like Styx, or devolved like Josette and Angelique. Pokemon League was scary if it did that sort of stuff!

((Maybe a dumb question, but I want to check: Should I start using Gen 8 level up info now, or stick with Gen 7 for now? Turns out Salandit has a Galar number!))

Marco listened to everyone continue to speak. He was glad the heat was no longer on him, at least for now. The Baron commented on that he'll keep it in his mind that there could be others that were rather suspicious with motives that just haven't been brought to the light so to speak. He agreed he'd look into it, but Marco wasn't exactly confident that they would. He now had to consider his position on helping with the investigation. He definitely wanted to keep out of it at all costs, but Miss Katie and Miss Elizabeth dragged him into it. He at least could see that Katie was reasonable enough to listen. She wasn't leading some form of lynch mob, which he was thankful for. He was confident he could talk his way out of trouble with reasonable people, but if people just wanted to pin someone as guilty, no one could get out of that. Quite a bit was happening around him with the Pokémon, but he tried to keep his main focus on Demetri, Katie and Cyren. He couldn't understand these Pokemon, so he tried to keep his focus where he could since his neck may still be on the line. Cyren spoke up about how Elizabeth might have had a camera, and that could be the cause of the flashes that happened in the dark. That was a fairly good point. "I do remember those flashes, I think Cyren might have a good point here."Marco pointed out looking back to the Baron. He might of sounded like he was deflecting, but with everything going on, he had forgotten about the flashes. That would be a good cause of it, and maybe she could she caught something at the very least. Marco looked back to Katie quickly at her outburst. He didn't expect it from her, and to be so excited with how quiet she was before. It was nice to know she agreed and that she was turning her attention away from him, however she thought it would tell who caused it, so it sounded to him that she believed Elizabeth to be innocent. Marco was curious what the Baron would do with this information. However, now that he was dragged into it, he might need to pay more attention to the other people he knew in the room.

Meanwhile, Sableye was still focused on the Noctowl as he passed on the message. The bird responded to his greeting. He nodded to him, and asked if he had a message to pass on. The ghost stared at him for a moment, then turned to look at where the Aipom was before, then to the ceiling, then to his new friend Eve as she sat thinking on the floor. Then back to the Noctowl, with his smile still on his face as his gem eyes gleamed. It was clear gears were turning in his head as he was silently thinking. "No." He stated calmly. He didn't think the offer was negative from the Noctowl. The ghost continued to eye the noctowl over, looking to his wings. He was different and smaller then Eve, but he was just like her, he could fly. He wasn't a bat like Eve, which he was use to like Zubats, but was he friendly like she was? He knew another Pokémon with wings that wasn't as nice as Eve, so Sableye was curious which kind of bird he was. "Friend too?" He asked him tilting his head just a little to far as he asked, still remaining on Marco's shoulder.

Ridley listened as Liz explained that she had heard people wanting to fight the culprit but believed she would. "Good, cause it's true." She commented confidently with a grin. She was glad to see that Liz saw her as someone who had some fight in her, some underestimated her in the past because she was pretty. Granted she did always like proving them wrong. However her proud grin faded as she saw Liz go for a fist bump. Had she been a guy, trying and failing at getting her attention she would have been more then happy to scoff and start to berate him. But Her, she was someone new, she still seemed like someone she could boss around. So Ridley played nice, and slowly matched her fist bump. She stood back up and curtseyed to Jessica, who moved forward, that way she was now standing next to her rather then somewhat behind her trainer. She returned with a half bow half curtsy. Her dress wasn't much of a curtsy dress, but Ridley almost assumed it was because she didn't exactly have legs to bend. She replied with thinking they all were great while petting her spinarak that slipped back into her hair. Ridley frowned at the idea of the spider in her hair, but Jessica spoke first. "You all do look strong." She complimented them directly, rather then talking about them like they didn't exist, since she would have been able to understand them if they tried to reply. Jessica was a psychic type, however she often kept to herself, and minded her own business. So unless she needed too, she rarely ever picked up on other's thoughts or emotions, unless they were calling out to her. So luckily the spider's fears went unnoticed. She had assumed he was just shy, rather then hiding what he did, so she didn't want to bother him regardless. Ridley listened as Liz explained she had been in the Johto League. She confessed to having only one badge. That almost surprised Ridley with the group she had with her, but she didn't say anything. She wasn't going to put her down for her lack of badges, she was being nice. However Ridley was never against showing off and bragging. She explained that she grew up in Goldenrod City. She smirked after hearing the city. "Of course, The Goldenrod City is one of the biggest cities in the world, and it's mall is infamous for shoppers." She commented bringing one of her arms under her chest, and resting her other on it, holding her arm up as she spoke. "I grew up in Unova, but I got to travel every so often and see the sights." She commented plainly as if it was normal for anyone to just travel, especially for something as simple as shopping in another region. She then asked about her, and then commented on Jessica looking strong. Ridley couldn't resist the temptation to pick on Jessica, and looked to her. "Ha." She let out a fake laugh. Jessica gave her a grudging look, but remained quiet, at least until she heard what Ridley had to actually say. "I wouldn't say she was physically strong, but she can do a lot of damage in a battle." Ridley admitted, giving her at least a half compliment. "But We've kind of hopped all around at this point, Kanto, Hoenn, Alola and now here. I believe we got ten badges at this point. Right?" She explained, then looking to Jessica to see if she had been right. She usually left her badges with Amma to keep, that way she didn't actually have to carry them. "Nine actually. Four from Hoenn, and we just received our 5th badge from Clemont here in Kalos." She explained calmly in turn. She wasn't bragging like Ridley would have, subtle but it would have been a brag none the less. Jessica merely was trying to explain the facts of what they had.

Marco watched as the spot light turned away from him. He didn't really care who it pointed at, but he was glad it was off of him. He didn't like he already had fingers pointed at him, but he seemed to have done well in getting himself out of it. It also seemed to help that the reporter just seemed really suspicious. Cyren's Machop seemed to be the first to leave the group and make her way across the room. But Demetri soon stood and said he was going to make his way over to the next suspect, and offered to let them come along. Both Cyren and Katie seemed to want to tag along. He thought for a quick moment, but it didn't take long to make his decision. "I think I'm going to keep out of the interrogations." He explained without moving from his relaxed position in his chair. He looked over to Cyren to catch him before he left with them. "If you want, I can stick here and keep an eye on Eve if you wanted. She's pretty good company." He told the male, unsure if he wanted a Noivern tagging along for the investigations. Either way he didn't mind, he decided to stay in his chair. Something seemed to excite her though, so he wasn't sure what Cyren wanted to do about the young dragon.

Meanwhile Sableye was happy to see that he was going to make a new friend. The sableye was making lots of new bird friends today. His gem eyes gleamed when the Noctowl agreed that they would be friends. But as he continued to ask him a few questions, the ghost's smile faded. There was a pause where the Sableye merely stared at the owl, as if he was processing the questions, or maybe he was trying to translate or understand them. But something seemed to click as the ghost climbed off of Marco's shoulder and hopped over to the table. He looked up to the bird and nodded. "I see in the dark. I like the dark." He answered at first and looked towards the stage for a moment as if thinking of what happened, then back up to the bird. "I didn't look at the loud lady. Only shiny ball." He answered turning his head to the side. It was a strange question to him, he obviously was more interested in the diamond ball, so to him it was natural for others to be as well. He didn't have any interest in the ladies. However, he paused again. What happened to the ball? He had tunnel vision on the Pokeball, it did look very yummy. But he shook his head. "It looked very shiny. Even in dark. Someone bigger moved past and I couldn't see the shiny for a second. Then I could. Then it was not there." he answered with a frown. "I do not know what happened to shiny ball" he said slowly trying to say what he wanted the right way so it made sense to the bird.

Lucille waited to hear about the Murder of the Archduchess' caretaker. It was a bizarre turn of events really, of all the people someone could try to kill it was a unknown caretaker. Anyone in here probably had some far past, or shady dealings, Most rich and politicians did in her opinion. Well, there were plenty of trainers in the room as well, which she couldn't decide if they would want to or really had the capacity too. Which she still seemingly had no idea how it was carried out. She waited for a response from the trainer and his interesting group of Pokémon, however as time passed and the room moved and changed she received no answer. She had been quite out of the loop since she wasn't in the room, and she definitely always liked being in the know and gossip. "I need to figure out what happened." She told them as she began to fan herself with her pink feathery fan. "If you figure anything out, I'd love to hear it." She told him with a charming smile and a wink to him and his Pokémon. After she did this she turned back around and began to move away from the food table and through the grouped people. She wanted to take a look around at the people again before she wanted to pick out someone to find out the juicy details. She made her way into the middle of the blue carpet to really get a look at everyone.

Marco remained in his seat and nodded to Cyren in response to his appreciation. Marco enjoyed the company of Eve, more so then the people hat were pointing fingers at him already, and profiling him. She was curious, and young. He found her refreshing. He didn't get much from the Machop who was wearing the oversized Jacket, but it was nice to have her around too. "I hope so. Don't pull any punches." he told Cyren with a grin, telling him not to hold any questions back. He was hoping they'd return with answers to who might have caused the crime, or hell even with someone in handcuffs. Just not him. As they made their way away, he turned in his chair to look at Eve, his back now to the side of his chair the bag was hanging on. It was uncharacteristic of him, but Sableye was out, even if he was entertained by the Noctowl. "Looks like we get to have all the fun, while they do all the boring work." She told her with a grin, and looked down to the Machop. "Do either of you like sweets?" He asked, leaning against the back of the chair, looking for any signs of recognition from the two Pokémon.

Meanwhile, Marco seemed to have not noticed the Aipom at all. The Sableye's gem eyes glistened again, however it didn't turn away from the Noctowl. So it would seem the small monkey went unnoticed, from them at least. If he was able to unlatch it, he would see lots of papers with multiple languages on them, and some with copied pictures. Past the papers that had quite a few bends and wrinkles in would have shiny objects, but he probably wouldn't be able to make them completely out what they were. But they didn't look like knives or forks. However what might have, on the flap of the bag held metal utensils with hooks and chisels. Some with sharp blades, and some with blunt ends. There appear to be a few slots empty.

It didn't take a psychic to realize that the Tsarenna didn't like Jessica, which only made it all the more obvious for the Jynx to see. It made her a little uncomfortable to know the flower already had negative opinions about her. Granted, Jessica never expects anyone to like her really, she knows Marilyn the Mienshao on her own team didn't like her. But that was because it was derived from jealousy and competition over looks. Jessica never tried to compete with Marilyn, or anyone really with beauty, it just came naturally to Jessica which bothered the already beautiful Mienshao, as well as just how 'perfect' the Jynx was. However, this Tsarenna didn't really know her. She could see where her teammate was coming from at least, this was on pure judgement on her appearance which did bother the copper haired Pokémon. This caused her to sway a bit back and forth with her hips without thinking, ever so slightly. Jessica at least smiled to the Absol. "You're welcome." She told her with a nod, however she still seemed to sway a bit, and then wrapped her arms across her stomach for comfort, unconsciously also under her chest. Ridley chuckled as Liz asked if she had been cheating. "I don't think so. But if it is, I don't really care. They haven't tried to stop me." She replied with a sly toothy grin and a shrug. She began to run her fingers through her long straight blonde hair as she listened to the girl continue on with another question. She really seemed to be full of them, she did look young to Ridley so she assumed that was why. "Not really. I just don't like staying in one place for too long." She explained. There was no real advantage to bopping around like she was, actuality it hurt her, seeing that she's technically only five badges into the league even though she had 9. "I started here in Kalos, but moved on to Hoenn. I got bored of the region after four badges so I came back here." She explained, of course, a lot happened between there. But she decided to leave all of those near death experiences out of the conversation. She looked at her nails, to make sure they were still nicely manicured, before continuing. "After tonight, I'm planning on beating Valerie for my next badge, but I'll probably travel to see another region after." She told Liz as if it was really nothing. bouncing around from region to region was how she liked it really. She loved the new, and the hustle and bustle. But also the distractions of it all.

Meanwhile, Ridley wasn't really paying any mind to Red's Pokémon. If she didn't care, neither did Ridley. So she didn't bat an eyelash as the conversation happened with the Machop, and other Pokémon. Jessica did listen in, finding interesting information, but she opted to stay out of the conversation since it wasn't any of her business to interject. She also made sure to not be in the way of the Fruit Pokémon as she made her way over to the group of people. She was to stay near Ridley, and that was exactly what she was going to do. Liz continued on about the shopping in Goldenrod, however she began to talk about the Pharmacy, mean while the blonde was talking about the clothes. She could help but nod with fake enthusiasm, not really caring all that much for pharmaceuticals. Sure they were great for sick people, but not to talk about really. "Oh okay, that's cool." She commented nonchalant and quickly. Liz continued on to talk about the edge of the City, away from the shopping district. "Oh yeah? Is there anything good to see out there? Like what?" Ridley asked. She was a city girl, but she wasn't afraid to see little hole in the walls. Sometimes those places had the best food at least. That being said, she definitely was not a country girl in the slightest. She then asked about Unova, and if it was nice. She couldn't help but Grin at that comment, she must have been a country girl, even though she's from Goldenrod. "It is nice. It has most of the world's largest cities. I'm from Undella, which is essentially one big vacation town. Nimbasa City and New Tork City are a must if you ever travel to Unova." She explained to Liz, telling her about the biggest cities in the world. Nimbasa was beautiful with all the neon lights and night life. While New Tork had everything you could ask for. It was massive. She loved visiting the big city.
