”My intent now is to narrow down the potential suspects further than only making base claims on their positions in the room. If we can find any specifics, it will bring things down from a general group like just anyone standing by the doors, to a more focused target area,” Wattson commented in response to the condescension that came from the trainer. If he could do anything about it, he was going to keep an eye on this human and his ulterior intentions, despite how sick it was making him to stick around. There was something about him, and how he singled out Rhienne that he couldn’t let go, but for all he knew, he could be conversing with the thief and attempted murderer, it wasn’t out of the question. Wattson was a bit surprised that he agreed though to accompany him in looking around for the source of the lights, but wasn’t going to deny the assistance and the opportunity to keep him close.
”Thank you. In a time like this, animosity and disdain would be too great an adversary. Helping each other will help the Archduchess, which is the focus here,” Wattson spoke then, genuine in his acceptance of the trainer’s help, placing a paw over his chest. Wattson’s ears twitched at his question though, in regards to where they were going to start their search, and he looked around at the few options that they had. The kitchen didn’t seem a likely place, there had to be plenty of cooks and waiters in the kitchen that would have seen or heard anything that happened within, so it could likely be a waste of their time. It wasn’t out of the question for a sort of fuse box to be outside, but the building itself was inherently old, which meant that the circuit box was likely old as well, properly maintained maybe, but old. It would be dangerous to have it out and exposed in weather before any kind of real advancements could have been made in the past, so Wattson could deduce, under the possibility of him being wrong, that what they were looking for was likely still inside the building.
”I believe we should start in the foyer,” Wattson spoke then in answer, gingerly moving past the tables and chairs around him, moving towards the door to the foyer and pushing it open with one paw, holding it for the white haired trainer, and any of his Pokemon that were coming along. He entered into the lavish foyer of the esteemed building, looking around with his keen senses, beginning to search for anything that could lend them any aid in the investigation. Wattson remained close to the wall that was shared with the ballroom, glancing from one side to the other of the walls that surrounded them.
”My name is Wattson, I’m from the Johto Region,” the Lucario spoke after a moment, if only in an attempt to keep his mind focused and distracted from the sickly feeling that threatened to take him over. |

Marcellus could see a lot of similarities between this Mega Lucario and his own. They both seemed to be calm by nature, as well as fairly intelligent and articulate. Marcellus was watching every word that came from this canine, and processing it carefully for the best response, and he could see that this Pokémon was watching the words he used carefully. Marcellus could see that the Lucario was carefully trying to appear neutral in the matter. If he hadn't been with that girl, or seemingly suspicious to Marcellus, he might have actually liked the Pokémon. Josette seemed to be alright with him. Granted her mental state was a bit more childish now-a-days. He understood she had been devolved into a literal child, so he couldn't blame her. The Lucario commented on attempting to narrow down the suspects by looking else where, rather then their positions to the doors. Marcellus thought for a moment about that, it did somewhat make sense/ Marcellus did think for a moment and look about the room. How would he have committed the crime? He looked from the stage, then back to those who were by the door. "I do see what you mean, If we can find the location of this fuse box, it could help us figure out what might have happened. But if it is outside of this room, don't you think those closest to the door would be closer and likely to try to get there and back?" Marcellus purposed, keeping his focus on those by the doors, and Rhienne. But after a quick thought even he couldn't figure that would be possible. "I suppose that would be a foolish way to go about it... Especially if it had been another Pokémon rather then a guest, anyone could be culprit" He answered himself calmly, as if Lucario had purposed it, or he had been asking himself rather then his company. XXXXXMarcellus wasn't exactly sure where they should start their search. He wasn't sure where a hotel would keep the main circuit room. He would assume a basement of some sort... But he was curious to see what the Pokémon thought. He was still interested in seeing if the Lucario was trying to cover his trainer's tracks or throw them off entirely. The Lucario stopped to thank him for his assistance, and the lack of animosity and distain. Marcellus gave a small smile, and nodded to him in acceptance of his thanks. "Of course, we are going to do anything we can to help catch this criminal, and aid the Archduchess in such a tragic time." He responded in a sugary sweet tone, though it almost wound sound too easy of a response or rehearsed. "And you helped me before, so of course we'll help you." Josette chimed from below, clasping her nubby hands together as she spoke just like any princess would. He seemed to be taking a moment to look around before announcing where he believed they should look. An interesting proposal, given it much thought that's where Marcellus would have thought to look too. This was a luxury hotel, so having a fuse box or a service door outside in the Garden, would be unsightly, if this was his hotel he would want the garden to be a place to relax, not have maintenance workers walking in and out. He had only seen glimpses of the gardens through the windows, so he could only assume. He didn't exactly consider the kitchen either, because to him the kitchen was a place he liked to create in undisturbed, so it just didn't make sense to him to have it in there. What made it strange to him was that this was where the group of the people were that he was accusing. They could have easily sent a Pokémon out while no one was looking. especially a ghost or psychic type. That being said, Marcellus agreed that was the best play too look. "That does seem like a fine place to start." Marcellus replied. If they could find it, then maybe they could start figuring out one way or another who could have caused it, or maybe even a Pokémon. XXXXXMarcellus followed along behind the Lucario, moving passed the tables and other guests. They moved past the interrogation as well as the few others Marcellus and Josette had accused of being suspicious. The Pokémon held the door for them, and Marcellus accepted, walking through it followed by the long sheer train gliding behind him. Josette came out trotting after and then moved forward to walk along side Marcellus, while Novu walked out at his own pace, his wide eyes full of wonder and curiosity as they looked about the new grand room. It was fairly ornate and grand to say the least. Marcellus began to walk his way down the staircase with his train ascending behind him. Josette fell a little bit behind has she had to trot down one step at a time, while Novu was still taking his time as he took the whole room in. Marcellus listened as he introduced himself as Wattson. So he did have a name, and that he was from Johto. "What a coincidence, we're actually traveling the Johto region now, and I've visited it plenty of times. " He commented, turning back once he reached the floor of the foyer. He had visited it a few times, and now planned to travel through the League with Liz and Julian. But he's also visited it to save it from destruction a time or two. Aside from the Ball, and Darkrai's realm, as well as this Ball now but he wasn't exactly in danger. All of his biggest and traumatizing things had happened in Johto. Battling Missingno.,getting kidnapped in the mountains, getting trapped in the same mountains.. Maybe it was more of a Mt. Mortar thing then a Johto thing. "It seems to be quite an interesting place..." He commented without trying to sound like he was saying how negative and dangerous he began to find it. "I'm Marcellus, and you've already met Josette it sounds like, and my Bulbasaur is Novu." Marcellus introduced as he looked around the Foyer with his eyes. "Hi! That's me. I'm Novu." He explained happily, as if he wasn't the only Bulbasaur in the room. Giving Wattson a wave with a vine. "We are traveling right now. But we're from Kanto, but we live in my home in Hoenn." He explained to the Lucario. Marcellus originally was going to accept Wattson's introduction and leave it at that without introducing himself. For one reason or another, Wattson didn’t appreciate the similarity between their traveling ventures, he didn’t want himself or Rhienne to have any kind of comparison or similarities with this sickly aura of a human, but he had to digress. It seemed this trainer was well traveled from many regions, being from one, living in another, traveling through one entirely separate. He wondered how much this particular trainer had accomplished thus far if he was so all over the place, if he was as well established as he carried himself to be. Of course the Lucario had noted the Mewtwo that seemed to gravitate towards the trainer, and that was nothing to ignore, but Rhienne herself had befriended Nara who was a great ally within their team, and that was well before they had made any real dent in their overall experience.
”It is nice to meet you, all of you,” Wattson returned, padding quietly down the staircase with a soft paw on one banister, coming to the polished marble ground floor.
”It sounds like you have seen many regions, being well traveled is certainly fruitful. I had just recently visited a part of the Kalos Region, and saw some cities in Unova, and actually just spent some time in Alola as well. It’s been very humbling to get to see so many different parts of the world,” Wattson commented, recounting some of his most recent travels that Rhienne had gone on, and despite some of the things that might have occurred, it was a true statement to say that it was always humbling to realize just how different things are in each region of the world. The Lucario stood straighter as he made his way down from the staircase, looking around with his keen eyes, sniffing lightly through the air to see if anything outright caught his attention. He turned and glanced back towards the ballroom just above them, the sounds of conversation slowly drifting through the air, and he noted where the walls of the ballroom were in conjunction to where he was standing just then.
”We need to remain as close to the ballroom as possible, the wires for any kind of fuse box or otherwise wouldn’t go far, so it seems we should look on either side of the staircase behind us,” Wattson suggested, glancing from one side of the staircase to the other.
”Which side would you think we should investigate first,” Wattson questioned, still glancing from one side to the other to see if anything immediate caught his attention, though waited for his current company to make a suggestion. |

Of course, Marcellus had no idea they both didn't like the idea of it. He still couldn't put his finger on it, but just couldn't stand the girl which in turn her Pokémon as well. Maybe it was her energy, or the way she looked. But she just seemed off to him, and her Lucario was no better. The white haired trainer still felt as though the Lucario was dodging questions, and diverting from the true task at hand. He could see that he was clearly intelligent, but he felt that he was just a bit more. The male believed he was on to Wattson and his trainer, and the Pokémon just didn't know it yet. The finely dressed Pokémon admitted it was nice to meet them, to which Marcellus nodded. "I'm sure it is." Marcellus commented with what would seem to be a sugary sweet smile. Marcellus walked forward into the large foyer, taking in it's appearance before turning back to Wattson. "I would say the same had it been under difference circumstances." Marcellus added, which was half true. If they all weren't accused of attempted murder he still wouldn't like them any better. However, had Wattson belonged to another, maybe just maybe, Marcellus would like him. The Lucario continued on to comment on being well traveled and all of the places he had gotten to see and visit. Marcellus made a point to raise his eye brows as if in surprise, and nodded. Marcellus hadn't exactly gotten to see many regions personally. he grew up in Kanto, and have been all over the region. Same for Hoenn. However this is the first time he's experiencing Johto for himself. He had read plenty of books about the region, but it wasn't the same for actually seeing it. "I believe it is very valuable to travel as well. I've been wanted to see the islands of Alola but haven't had much time too. This is my first time visiting Kalos. I can't say it has been a warm welcome." He replied. He figured it would be best to continue pleasantries as they went, thinking that it would give him more time to analyze the Pokémon. XXXXXAs they ventured further into the Foyer, it was fairly clear they might have a few places to search. The Mega Lucario commented on the fact that they should stay close to the Ballroom, due to the fact that the wires to the electrical room wouldn't go too far. That was a fairly good point. The electrical fuse box most likely would remain towards the center of the Hotel, rather then some where on the upper floors or deeper into the building. "That would be best, especially so we can keep within earshot of the authorities." Marcellus added, not wanting to seem like they were doing anything suspicious or trying to make a run for it. Marcellus paced through the lobby like foyer, looking from the empty front desk, to the other side of the room with the bathrooms, the back up the stairs to the ball room. "I'm not familiar with electrical work... However, I don't suppose it makes sense to put it in the bathrooms..." He thought out loud as he brought his right index fingers to his lip as he continued to think. "But we could send Josette into the woman's while we check the other to find out." He commented as he looked back to the Mega Lucario. "Do you think there would be a better place to look? Or are you sensing any positive or negative auras from either side of the stairs?" Marcellus asked him, folding his arms over his sparkly chest. He raised an eyebrow again at the Lucario, knowing from his own that they could sense those type of things. Especially since he was a mega, he was expecting it of the Pokémon. XXXXXMeanwhile, Novu and Josette continued to venture into the Foyer. Novu was walking around with his mouth hanging open as he looked around at the elegant surrounding. He was enjoying the sights and thought it was very pretty so he couldn't help but keep looking around. Josette trailed along behind Novu. She kept within earshot of Marcellus, just incase he began speaking to them. She knew they needed to keep close to him, and if he said anything they would need to come back. But she didn't want to let Novu get to far away on his own. Plus she was enjoying looking at the surroundings as well. They began to move their way into the center of the room. Novu was too busy looking at the light fixtures and the decorations, but Josette kept her eyes on the floor and carpets. Maybe she could see any sparks or signs of an explosion. She didn't think she'd find anything but at least she could say she helped! White Prince Of WonderlandAs Josette looked about the center of the floor, she would find a rather large pink feather laying on the floor. The feather has nice plumage on it, and appears to be in fairly good shape. Despite it's size, if over looked or too much of a breeze hits it, it'll drift in the breeze. If the Smoochum notices it before it gets disturbed, it would be sitting just off center of the room. The bone of the feather would continue down into a point, as if freshly plucked, or lost, by an actual bird or Pokémon. if it is noticed, it's up to Josette to decide what she does with the feather when it's found. (For the fairness of this event, I rolled a 1-20 dice as a mock perception check. I got a 20 so after a discussion with Paradisity we agreed it would be okay and fair to include this find to further the event, if not, at least get it moving again.)

Wattson believed himself to be well tempered, accepting, level headed and tried to do his best to at minimum remain a neutral party in any given interaction in order to facilitate his thoughts and opinions before making any kind of ill mannered leaps. However, this particular human whether intentionally or not, though he truly thought it to be the former, seemed to be going out of his way to give a very strong impression of spite and disdain, and Wattson felt he could even go so far as to say disgust towards himself, and the intense layer of kindness and benevolence was even more disconcerting. There was no understatement that Wattson could make in regards to how truly misplaced this human’s opinions were, especially when he considered their huge lack of interaction with each other. He was certain Rhienne wouldn’t even know the trainer’s name, or him hers, let alone recall where they had crossed paths before if at all, and all of that considered really did make Wattson question Marcellus’ morality even moreso. Someone so grossly invested in accusing others out right as opposed to trying to find the right support for those claims, the concept rubbed Wattson the wrong way, and made the human all the more guilty in his eyes.
”Agreed, we should try to remain as close to the ballroom as possible for many reasons,” Wattson nodded as he was faced towards the staircase, considering their two immediate directions that they could take to search. He didn’t want to raise any more concern with the authorities than there already was, and didn’t want to garner any more attention for Rhienne either.
”The restroom would be a terrible inconvenience for any electrical work… If there were an emergency of some kind, a public restroom would be too much of a hindrance…,” the Lucario commented, having noted that the other side of the staircase to his right seemed to just be a closed corner with the receptionist’s desk, there was nothing outright that seemed to be of importance that way. Wattson listened to Marcellus’ inquiry however, about any particular direction they should search in, feigning support for the abilities known to his species. Wattson had to stifle a roll of his eyes at the undertone of the human’s comment, he knew Marcellus thought him incompetent for one reason or another, but he was correct, any kind of residual energy that remained in the area would be detectable to him, and he would certainly be able to sift through and find hostility or even hastened agitation. However, since coming into contact with the human Marcellus, Wattson had been keeping himself closed off and severely reigning in his powers in an attempt to not become ill at the close proximity, thus he had yet to really find anything worth mentioning, but he had to digress. If it meant clearing Rhienne’s name and assuring that they could get out of the hotel sooner than they were now, Wattson had to do what he could.
”That hallway there is the only likely direction we can go, so let’s take that avenue regardless. I will look for any residual hostile energy, anything that is entirely out of place for the over all environment, and if I find it, we can follow it,” Wattson commented, beginning to follow the two smaller Pokemon that belonged to Marcellus that had already started in that direction, opening his senses and his abilities to his surroundings, and choking down the sickening feeling that began to over take him. |

Clearly there was nothing coming from this. He was already deciding the motive of moving to this room was. The Mega Lucario was clearly intelligent, Misguided but intelligent none the less. So it was clear to the white haired trainer that this was a diversion to get him away from the suspect. Marcellus knew he didn't really have anything on the girl, but he was suspicious of her. He was sure he could find something on the clear delinquent if he stuck around to snoop a bit more. Of course, Cronus was in the Ballroom but Marcellus was starting to get annoyed that he might have been out maneuvered. He drifted into the foyer a bit more, gliding away from the canine as he spoke about staying near the door. He absently looked about the room, not reacting to the canine agreeing. However he did turn his attention towards the bathrooms as the Lucario spoke about it being an inconvenience if something had happened. That was a fair point. It wouldn't make much sense for an electric panel or fuse room be located in there. "I suppose you may be right about that." He commented absent mindedly, as he looked about the area. He could see the front desk that was empty, as well as a door behind it. That was likely a closet, so no worries there. So maybe the bathroom was the best choice to search. Marcellus looked back to see the Canine, and raised his eyebrow. He seemed to avoid his query at first about his abilities. Stating the bathrooms were the way to go. However, he continued on to state that he will senses open for anything hostile. Marcellus nodded to him. "I doubt the person that committed the actual crime could have done anything out here, so maybe search for any Pokémon energies? Or something that wasn't familiar to something inside?" Marcellus purposed. It would have been quite a lot to do in the dark, even with that amount of time they had. It was unreasonable to believe they could be out here, then stab the handmaiden and make off with the Pokémon. As well as shoot a dart and light the stage on fire. "Perhaps a ghost type? Something that would go unnoticed?" He commented, glancing towards the Canine. It did make sense that a Ghost could knock out the power unnoticed. On top of this, his trainer did have a ghost about her. XXXXXHowever, as they made their way towards the Hallway, Marcellus looked down and noticed Josette had something pink. She was trying to stick a feather in her hair. "Josette, what do you have there?" Marcellus asked the Smoochum. She had to use psychic to lift the pink feather up and into her hair due to her short arms, but turned back once it was in her hair. Sticking straight up at the back of her head, almost like if it were a headpiece. "It's a beautiful feather I found on the ground. It's so pretty, and looks so nice in my hair." She stated happily. "It does look really pretty" Novu chimed in, causing the little smoochum to beam with happiness. However, Marcellus shifted his stance back, and looked around. Pink feather? He looked about the room however there was no décor with feathers on it. "It does look nice, but I don't suppose you want that in your hair. It seems fairly... Out of place." Marcellus commented leaning down and plucked it from her hair. Josette's beaming smile immediately vanishing. Marcellus stood back up and began turning it over in his hands, looking at it. He looked closely at it's ends, and then gently ran the back of his hand over the plumage. "It's a real feather. I'm not sure if it means anything but it is out of place." Most of it was all casual, everything that he had felt in the ballroom before things took a turn for the worst, and with the stunning amount of guests that were present, there were a great many strands of energies. The Lucario moved slowly, without much haste, he was having to put more focus into his abilities than he was used to, so he hadn't quite noticed the stunning color of pink that was on the floor, not until Marcellus spoke up about the small Josette having something in her grasp, now trying to stick it into her hair. Wattson stopped then, paused as Marcellus moved forward and gently pulling it from her hair despite the conensus that it did look very pretty in her hair. Stepping just a bit closer than Wattson could say he was comfortable with, he examined the feather that the white haired trainer turned over in his hands. Wattson glanced around, there was nothing that had feathers in it around them that they could see, no decorations, arrangements, not even a pen or otherwise that would have any kind of dressings. Marcellus was certain that it was a real feather, but Wattson seemed a bit leery on the matter.
"May I," Wattson questioned with a small gesture, holding his paw out for the feather in question. He was gentle in his approach, it was nearly impossible at this point to do anything other than walk on eggshells now around this particular human because of how quick he was to judge, so Wattson was actually a bit surprised when Marcellus did in fact hand him the feather. Wattson took it into his paws, he could feel the difference, examining the tip of it just the same as the human did...
"I've never seen a Pokemon with such bright pink feathers? And nothing here at the ball either, such a stunningly colored Pokemon would stand out," Wattson questioned though, not being able to recall a species that he had ever seen himself that had pink feathers. He held it up closer to his face and sniffed at it carefully, trying to see if he could get any kind of scent off of the feather, but it didn't have any definitive scent to it...
"It doesn't smell like a Pokemon... I'm not sure what we can draw from that," the Lucario answered, though as he was sniffing at the feather, a thought crossed his mind... Scent was very important, and with something like an explosion that occurred because of the electricity in the ballroom, surely there would be a scent to follow, even smoke maybe...?
"...There should have been smoke? Everyone heard the electricity explode, and explosions make smoke... Where is the smoke," the Lucario commented then, looking around again then, and instead of trying to look for anything that caught his attention, he was sniffing around with his keen canine senses, knowing that anything like smoke or burning or anything of the like had a very very definitive scent. |

Elemental ParadisityAs the Mega Lucario smelled and searched their way into the Bathrooms. The heightened senses of the canine would in fact start to smell the distinct smell of smoke and burned plastic now that he was searching for it, but it would be faint. The farther he wanted towards the bathroom the fainter it would smell, and the more the air would start smelling like the flower Jasmine. This could mean that they were growing farther from the smell of smoke, or that they tried to hide the smell.

Marcellus could only assume that it had been from a real Pokémon because of it's appearance. He remained quiet for the most part so that the Mega Lucario could sense anything coming through. He was sure something would have come through and if so, a mega Lucario would be able to sense what it was of all Pokémon. Novu watched silently, while Josette's round eyes flicked from her trainer to the other Pokémon she deemed a friend. Despite the silence, nothing seemed to have caught the Lucario's attention. He asked if he could see the feather and held out his paw. Marcellus eyed his paw for a quick second. Maybe he was on to something. Marcellus held out the feather cautiously and lightly placed it into the canine's paw. He eyed him over to see what he had planned. If the Pokémon tried to run or destroy it, that would just be further proof. He knew Novu and Josette could handle him in battle despite the Mega form. However he began to smell it, and start trying to sense from it. Marcellus wanted to question it, because he had remained silent from his abilities before. But The male wanted to see where this was going. The white haired trainer let himself drift as he listened to the Pokémon. "I haven't either actually. Maybe it's a dyed Swanna or Braviary feather?" Marcellus purposed, trying to think of what kind of Pokémon would have fluffy feathers like that. He tried to consider that, but also his mind was on the fact that the Lucario was once again avoiding the issue. He seemed to be active as if he had forgotten all about trying to sense what auras came through. Highly suspicious to Marcellus. They moved towards their first goal, the bathrooms as they mulled over the feather and it's lack of scent. XXXXXBefore they reached the bathrooms, it would see that the Lucario had once again changed the subject. That being said, it was a rather good question. Generally where's there's an explosion there would be smoke or fire... Marcellus stopped and looked around towards the ceiling. This was a pristine place, if there was any spoke they definitely would have seen it. "You aren't suppose to go towards the smoke... Smoke means fire." The bulb chimed in with a concerned tone, looking up to both Marcellus and Wattson. "That is quite the question... Maybe it wasn't in here... Maybe we should check out in the garden?" The white haired male purposed. It didn't look like there was any smoke in here. However Marcellus let the Pokémon think it over as he began to drift once more taking in air to try and smell smoke but nothing. "I suppose that means you couldn't sense anything out here?" Marcellus reminded, questioning the fact as to his silence of the matter before. It was understandably strange. If there had been someone out here, he might not be able to tell who it was but maybe something at the very least. He found the canine's ability to misdirect very strange and pretty suspicious. It was the only thing that stood out in the quiet foyer, sure, but it could have wafted from anywhere in the hotel, could have just been left behind from the crowds moving into the ballroom once the festivities began. He had only vaguely sensed something attached to it, an aura of sorts, but as he had started to walk towards the bathrooms where the aura followed, the scent of smoke that he was certain he could find wasn’t there, it meant nothing. Wattson stopped moving in the direction of the restrooms, just trying to focus on his sense of smell, but Marcellus’ question caught his attention, raising a bit of concern about sensing anything where they were right then.
”We came down here to find the source of the explosion, how the electricity went out. If we find that, I can draw out what I can,” Wattson spoke, reminding Marcellus of what it was they had initially come out to do, they didn’t have time to mull over other things that might not bring forward any answers. He paused for a moment more, trying to focus his keen senses, and just then, he caught it. It was faint, and it was sure to be since it had been a good bit now that the electricity had gone out and come back, any plumes of smoke would have dissipated by now, but the smell of smoke itself lingered for so long, and he caught it. He had been getting further away from it, in moving towards the restrooms, but now that he caught the scent, he began to head the other direction, back towards the stairs and the other side of the foyer, trying to follow the scent.
”I found it, I smell smoke,” the Lucario spoke as he started honing in on the smell of it, trying to follow it to make sure that he didn’t lose it. |

Marcellus looked around for any signs of smoke damage, but there wasn't any blackening on the ceiling. He was beginning to think the explosion might have happened else where like he questioned. He might his misheard the direction of the sound. However the canine seemed to turn on him, staying they specifically came to the foyer to find the blast. And yet, they didn't know where to start or if it had even been out here. "You're acting as though you know the explosion was from out here." Marcellus commented, crossing one arm over his chest, resting his elbow on it, and bringing a finger to his chin as he tried to seem as if he were thinking. "You can't answer, or even acknowledge, if you're sensing anything out here, whether it be a person's aura, or any smoke... But you know for sure it's some where out here?" Marcellus chimed in a friendly tone, as if he wasn't commenting on the Lucario's suspicious behavior. It was all starting to align for the white haired male, the Lucario refused to answer or speak about if he could or couldn't sense any aura's out in the Lobby area. Nor could any of them see or smell any sign of burning or smoke. But he was adamant about staying here rather then check other locations. It had been the Mega Pokémon's idea to come out here in the first place. "Just seems curious to me." He added, raising a brow at the Pokémon. Shortly there after he seemed to have caught the scent of smoke, and began back the other way they came. Marcellus whirled his embroidered cape around him as he followed the tall canine. "I think you can handle this on your own, since I'm unable to smell the smoke." Marcellus replied, his voice still smooth, but he seemed to let a bit of icy tones to creep into his voice. Granted anything he did say would be his word verses a Pokémon's. Marcellus moved towards the Lucario and reached forward and gingerly plucking the pink feather from his grab. "I'll turn this in to the Baron, see if it could be of some use." He told Wattson, as he turned back towards the stairway and began making his way up it. Josette took a moment to stop and wave by to the Lucario with her little nubs and giving him a friendly smile. "Bye! It was good seeing you again!" She told him, even though their first meeting and their second meeting was barely minutes apart. She began trotting after Marcellus having to really hike up her dress to make her way up the stairs, stumbling up them a few times. Mean while Novu lingered a second and used his vine to pat the Lucario's paw as if he were trying to shake his hand. "It was nice to meet you I think, but I have to go! " He told him trying to be friendly as he scampered off towards the stairs so he wasn't left behind. "But you're not suppose to go towards smoke. In fires you go away from it for safety." He called back again, trying to inform Wattson on fire safety. The little bulbasuar wasn't dumb, he was just blissfully unaware of what was really going on. In all of his experience and knowledge that he was keen on boasting, and even making mention of auras and other such comments regarding the Lucario’s innate abilities that let Wattson know he was at least familiar with what his kind of capable of, he was very hung up on the notion that finding the right aura was going to be so blatantly easy, that it was going to be an angry red line that Wattson could just follow to the culprit behind all of this. Yes, a person’s aura was unique to them, and if he did in fact hone in on any one aura that he was surrounded by, it would lead him to that specific individual, but to know just exactly what the person in question was feeling, what their energy would have been like when they began to set their plan in motion, that was something entirely different. If he were being quite honest, for something so high profile as an attempted assassination of a royal figure, there was no way that the criminal here was anything but calm, collected, knew exactly what they were going to do to get what they wanted out of this endeavor, and that meant that their aura was going to be just as muddled as the rest of the otherwise normal, calm, jovial, and pleasant auras that were very abundant in the area. It would take a lot more for Wattson to find the right aura than just standing at the base of the staircase and reading the multitude of energies that remained in the foyer, the more he could narrow things down, like a specific area to focus on, the more likely he was to find something of value. At this point, the canine was certainly fed up with Marcellus’ condescending demeanor and how bent he was on getting an answer that he wanted, one that would suit him, that Wattson almost heaved a sigh of relief at Marcellus’ mention that he could handle this on his own and he was going to turn the meaningless feather into the Baron. However, he felt his blood run cold at the notion of leaving him alone, letting him get closer to Rhienne again, he couldn’t allow Rhienne’s name to be brought up in accusation.
”I suppose we’ll see if anything comes of the feather, but I’ll continue my search out here,” Wattson confirmed, keeping his tone as even as he could, but he did offer a small smile and a wave to the two younger Pokemon that hurried after their trainer, feeling all the more concerned for their upbringing and what someone like Marcellus was going to do to them long term… It wasn’t really his place though…
With Marcellus leaving his proximity, Wattson could actually feel his head clearing, and his breathing become more even, he wasn’t surrounded by his toxic energy and the negativity of his aura. It was freeing, and now Wattson could really hone in on his abilities without hindrance, or without causing himself any harm in allowing Marcellus’ energy to become intermingled with his own abilities. The Lucario drew in a clear breath, calming himself, knowing that he had to make the most of his endeavor down here, anything that would deter the attention that Marcellus intended to bring towards Rhienne, and since having found the scent of smoke, Wattson didn’t let it leave his senses. Having been standing at the base of the staircase, since moving from the side of the foyer towards the bathrooms, Wattson could tell that the scent was getting stronger now that he was moving in the correct direction across the foyer. He had glanced on the right hand side of the staircase before, noting the reception desk, but that was before he had questioned himself about the scent of smoke. This time now, he took his time to look around as he moved forward on his paws, standing just in front of the receptionist desk now with his open senses. He looked up first, towards the ceiling, towards the top of the staircase, he didn’t see any kind of electrical cords or wires, not even any staining from smoke or an explosion, so he figured he just really needed to work around this section of the foyer now. The desk was empty without a receptionist, cleaned and well kept as would be expected, with a polished bell that sat proud on the desk in easy access for the guests. A cup of ornate pens sat beside it, and there was no glow from the computer that sat on the desk since it seemed to be turned off for the festivities, nor any blinking messages on the phone that sat on the smooth surface of the desk. He looked closer though, trying to see if anything did catch his attention as he moved around to stand inside the desk and noting the door tucked into the corner, since it wouldn’t be out of the question for something to be off, for something to be out of place after finding that feather in the middle of the floor. It would be sloppy work considering what kind of person he assumed the individual to be, someone professional and capable of pulling off such a crime, but if the individual in question dropped anything, left anything behind, any sign of themselves, then that would make his investigation all the more impactful. |

Elemental ParadisityWhile Wattson neared the Reception desk, the smell of smoke would slowly get stronger. The desk itself would be very clean and organized. If he chose to ring the nicely polished bell it would ring rather nicely, however no one would show to help him. as he made his scan of the area he might find that the door behind the front desk was slightly ajar, but just a crack. As he made his way to inspect the front desk closer, he'd step on something round, something that would fit nicely between his toe beans. Upon closer inspection it would be a small pearlescent sphere. In fact it is a little white pearl. It would have been sitting on the floor a few feet from the desk, and have been broken off what ever jewelry it was attached too. How ever he interpenetrates this information or does with the pearl is entirely up to him.
