First off, Prince and I just want to say, thank you. Thank you for your stories, thank you for your time and commitment to the forum, and thank you for being here and being a part of the forum. There are not words to express how much each of you mean to us while we have continued to work on this world and make sure that we provide you all with the best role playing experience that we can. It means everything to us that we have been able to maintain the forum with all of you as a part of it. That said, we are coming up on the forum's fifth anniversary! While construction began on a beta forum probably a bit earlier, we opened the forum for members and role playing in June of 2015, and we are so grateful to be able to celebrate five years on this platform!
The reason why I have called you all here though is a very important matter, one that I hope can show as much as possible how much we appreciate all of you and how valuable your contributions to the forum have been and are going to continue to be. Prince and I want to hear your thoughts on what kind of event, celebration, give away, anything of the like that you would like to see for celebrating the forum's 5th anniversary!
If you've ever had an idea for an event, something that you've wanted to see, maybe there was something we've done in the past that you thought could be done differently, any thought of the like, we want to hear it! This is an open discussion, we want to hear what kind of events you guys have always wanted to see, and even if you hadn't thought about it yet, here is your chance to let your creativity go wild! It can be anything from an item idea to a give away, an RNG to a game, maybe a story or mini story, there's nothing that can't be put on the table, we want to hear anything and everything that you guys have to say, so please don't feel like you can't contribute to this discussion! You all are important to us, and we want to give back to our community every opportunity that we get, and this is no exception.
Please keep all discussions in this thread, refrain from using the discord so that way everyone has a chance to contribute and voice their ideas and get in on the conversation. Ask questions if you have them, look at past events that we've done here on the forum, and we're going to keep this thread open for as long as it takes for us to make sure that we have the best way to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the forum. There are more thanks to come, again we cannot express how grateful we are to be able to be celebrating five years of this forum, and you all are the ones who have made that possible.

Hmm. Tough question, really. I liked the one we did where we got to roll for something for each character, where we were limited to one legendary. That was a fun event. Or the custom z crystals. Or if you guys don't want to go that far, just an event to let us claim a couple event items of choice. ^_^

I like the idea of a story or mini story. Feels like a lot of characters are kinda tied up right now tho.
Rolling for random Pokemon for characters is kinda fun despite how awful my luck usually is.
XD I think I'm too easy to please because I'm having the worst time coming up with a good answer for this.

I'm like, a month or more too late. But what about regional events? An event with experience instead of new shiny items to play with. I feel like we get a ton of events to claim extra Pokemon or items but not a whole lot of story events with actual combat. I haven't exactly taken a lot of time to construct a coherent thought for this but... Like as an example (not because Nick is there but because they have two actual factions) an aqua vs magma event. Participants could pick sides and there could be criteria to win the 'turf war'. Actual battles, actual EXP - some fun story elements for whatever the squabble happens to entail, and hell, maybe a shiny item for the faction that wins. Team magma/aqua recruiters hiring unknowing trainers for freelance. It wouldn't trick the smarter of the characters here but the shady type and those of moral neutrality might be interested in that even if they knew they were up to no good. I dunno. First thing that came to mind and I haven't contributed to the forum for a long time so I figured I'd say SOMETHING.

Well, usually with our story lined events we do select a region for them to partake in depending on the nature of the event itself. I believe the Orient Ball is the first event we’ve thrown an event that hasn’t included combat. Which that event is fairly experimental and clearly needs some more tweaking before we try something of the like again. But as for experience, events usually give out quite a bit of experience, so you really hit the nail on the head with that one!
The turf war idea is an interesting idea. We have considered tricking trainers into events like that before, but never something little in a turf war which would be fun and really entertaining for us! Danger and theatrics is my specialty, while Paradisity is great at story and testing morals so I’m sure we could string something along those lines together, may it be a specific turf war or something like that!

First off, again, we just want to thank you in every way that we can with every opportunity for giving us the chance to be able to celebrate five years of this platform! We really can't express how grateful we are to have the support from each of you that lets us explore all of our ideas and developments in the forum, and we want to keep giving you guys as much in this environment as we can!
Thank you all for your input and discussion on what we could potentially be looking at for celebrating the fifth anniversary of the forum, Prince and I have been in a fair amount of discussion about it ourselves, and we think that we have some news to give you all!
First and foremost, the likely expectation for the fifth anniversary celebration is going to be a story event as opposed to a giveaway! And Prince and I have two very distinct story events lined up that we believe will be just the ticket for the fifth anniversary!
The first thing to note is that we are opening up this thread again for discussion and questions, though to keep things a surprise for either event, we can only give so many answers.
Next, you guys do have a few options as to what you might want to do regarding either event. If one or the other indefinitely sounds more interesting, then that's the one that we'll get going for you all, but we also would like to throw out there that you all could consider we do both events one right after the other, in any order that you choose.
Lastly, the final thing to note, neither event will be released and open until both the Orient Ball and the Parfum Palace are complete. We don't want you guys to feel stressed or pressured with another event taking place and feel like you have to skip out on finishing what you all are doing with your characters right now, so rest assured that until both events are finished, you won't have to worry about another one starting without you!
So, to give you guys a basic, nondescript outline for each event, here is what Prince and I are looking at:
Event 1
- More open structure and free form
- Move at your own pace
- Gives room and opportunity for gym battles and other character progression without being locked into the story since this event does not tie a character to one location
- Does have a time limit, and would be shorter than a full on story line event
- Set rewards and exp given throughout the whole event
- No restriction on how many characters can participate
- This event can be done alone, in a pair, or in a group, offers good opportunity for character interaction
Event 2
- Full story line event, story is driven by specific plot points with periods of open exploration and role playing
- The event will take place in custom made story line threads, so characters will be locked into the story but not forced to stay, of course you could leave at any time and Prince and I will assist in getting your character out, but you would not be able to return to the story
- Intense action and opportunity for difficult character development constructs
- No specific timeline for this event, so we cannot say for certain how long this event would last
- There is no restriction on how many characters can participate, but there is a likelihood of a restriction on how many Pokemon a single character can have with them
- Cannon NPCs and original NPCs will be introduced in this event to give opportunity for future character development and stories
- Our obedience level grace period will apply for 1-2 gym battles depending on different circumstances
- Rewards will be light in this event, but unique to the story itself, there will however be far more exp than rewards
So again, take your time, let us know what you guys are thinking, if one event sounds better than the other, if you want to do both, or even if this isn't what you were hoping for/looking for for the fifth anniversary celebration and want us to work out something different, there's nothing that can't be discussed! Prince and I will do our best to answer your guys' questions and address any concerns you might have, and in the mean time please keep all conversation and questions in this thread!

They both have certain points that make them appealing. I'm game for either one, and quite glad they're waiting until after the current two end.
That being said, I like rewards so event number one could be a good idea.......

I'm a bad person and skimmed, but Event One sounds like the most appealing to me. I'd rather a story I can't lock down with my lack of inspiration going on. Where it wouldn't feel out of place leaving someone behind that just can't keep up for one reason or another. They could, reasonably, catch up when they were able it sounds like.

This vote being said, it isn’t an experience either or. Both have already been ironed out for the most part, and we plan to have both in the future. This is just to decide which would be good first based off of everyone’s current wants and needs.

Hm...I personally like the sound of Event 2 better but if Event 1 ends up being favored though I can work with that too. XD; Doesn't feel like a lot of us are doing well with time limits recently though.
