"A Port of Crashing Waves."
Traveling to the furthest western reaches of the Johto Region, most would stop at Olivine City, but on an actually separate land mass from that of the main Johto Region, Cianwood City remains. At the edge of the region, Cianwood City is small and a bit rural in it's location despite being on the coast, but that doesn't mean that it's any less a popular spot for those who do come to visit. Outside of it's city limits is a wide span of beautiful field and mountain that's rich with nutrients and fertile soil from the ocean coast and the river that flows to it's land mass' very northern edge. The river and forest there is a very renowned spot for tourists who come to visit, and likewise for those trainers that pass through to challenge the city's gym since the fields here are home to many Pokemon that call this mass home.
{Cianwood City Gym (Click)}Chuck is the Leader of the Cianwood Gym. A Fighting-type Trainer, and he's rightfully earned the title as "His Roaring Fists Do the Talking." Not only does he train his Pokemon in the ways of battle, he also personally trains and spars with them to help himself learn as well. Even though he's strong, and tough enough to spar with Pokemon, he is a surprisingly emotional, and a very positive-minded person. Chuck is married to a beautiful woman, but spends little time with his wife. He spends most of his time in the Gym, and she can be seen coming to visit him during lunch and dinner times. Some believe her to be a rude woman, seeing that she could be seen making fun of Chuck's and his Pokemon's emotional sides, and his "Chubby body." He is generally a very nice person, but he enjoys intimidating those who challenges him before battling, often playfully trash talking, or lifting and throwing very heavy objects. Chuck can be found in his Gym almost 24/7 with His Pokemon, but on Sundays the he can be found taking a walk on Route 47 with his wife. Chuck's gym appears to be fairly normal, and easily blends into the aesthetic of the rest of the City, aside from the fact that it build right against the rocky walls that sit behind it. Once inside, it appears to be a fairly simple dojo, where the trainers are welcome to help train with their Pokemon. The room is large, and open with various workout and training equipment, with a large empty area towards the back where it is pretty badly beat up from the many battles and spars held there. Lao and Yoshi can be found here, and can help those new to the Gym to help train them and their Pokemon, but if they are there for a challenge, they will happily battle. Though Chuck usually can't be found here, and once defeating them, Lao and Yoshi will direct the challenger through the doorway at the back of the gym, which will lead to a thin pathway cut through the short mountain range that sits behind Cianwood. The pathway leads to a large cavern where Chuck can usually be found training or sitting with his Wife. The room is massive with large rocky levels and ridges. Directly down the center of the large cave is a beautiful water fall that Chuck or his Pokemon can be found training under, all of which stand under the heavy pressure of the falling water. After capturing his attention he'll move to the lowest part of the area, and the clearest. The battle field is very rocky, and not very forgiving. It hold's rocky floors, and ridges that jet out from the ground. It's all naturally made, and appears to be just a normal, and beautiful, cave. {Gym Trainer (Click)} Lao Machop Lv. 40 HP 300 Male Ability: Guts- Physical attacks will do x1.5 more raw damage during a status infliction (Burn, Paralyze, Sleep, Poison). {Victor Glanville || Clever Contest Leader (Click)} Victor's only problem in life is his horrible addiction to gambling. He simply cannot refuse a bet. In order to pay off his insurmountable debts, Victor started to enter contests. He found that he was quite good at them, and the prize money certainly did help with the bills. After a while, Victor rose in ranking in the Johto contest system, finally coming to rest as the clever leader of the region. While he has finally paid off his debts, and participates in contests more than the casinos at Goldenrod, Victor still cannot refuse a challenge. He thrives on the thrill of taking center stage with his Pokemon, showing off their skills, and earning a bit of money while doing it. Julian Malcolm They made shore just outside of Cianwood, a small City with a cozy atmosphere about it. Julian recalled Quagsire and sent out Umbreon and Espeon, who took the opportunity to play in the sand while Julian dried off. He watched them play with a smile, and thought about where he would need to go in order to find the Gym Leader. Beginning to wonder through the City, Julian found himself in front of the Pokemon Center and decided that he should get his Pokemon checked out to make sure they were all fighting-fit. Leaving the Pokemon Center, Julian was set upon by a wild Growlithe. He sent out Quagsire, who immediately used Surf to shoot water at the Fire-Type. Growlith didn't like that one little bit, so he used Bite and clamped down hard. Quagsire used Surf, but Growlithe only bit harder. Julian tossed out a Pokeball to pull the Pokemon off of Quagsire, and to his surprise it sealed the Pokemon inside. Their exams came back with good news, and Julian set off to find the Gym Leader. Where better to inquire about a Gym Leader than the Gym itself? TL;DR Quagsire used Surf (-80, 130/210) Growlithe used Bite (-45, 185/230) Quagsire used Surf (-80, 50/210) Growlithe used Bite (-45, 140/230) Julian captured Growlithe!

Julian Malcolm
Encountering a wild Spearow, Julian wasn't sure if he wanted to attack it. Those small birds could be quite ferocious, especially when angered. Deciding that his Pokemon might need the experience because of how close his last Gym Battle had come, he decided to jump right into the battle with Noctowl. The owl appeared, and chased the smaller bird into the sky. Once up above the ground, Noctowl used Hypnosis and then Psychic to keep the bird from falling. Rather than set him down gently, he ended the battle by slamming Spearow into the ground with quite a lot of force.
TL;DR Noctowl used Hypnosis. Spearow is asleep. Noctowl used Psychic (-100, 110/210) Spearow is asleep. Noctowl used Psychic (-110, 0/210) Spearow fainted! Noctowl receives 11 exp. Julian Malcolm Another bird confronted them, Julian didn't know that it was friends with the Spearow he'd just beaten, but it came to fight for it's companion. He sent Tank into battle this time, who used Hypnosis and then folowed it up with a couple Psyshock attacks. Farfetch'd woke up and used a powerful Flying-Type attack he'd never seen before. Tank stumbled back, but righted himself and used Psyshock again. TL;DR Tank used Hypnosis. Farfetch'd is asleep. Tank used Psyshock (-70, 110/180) Farfetch'd is asleep. Julian Malcolm
Julian walked into the Gym and looked around the dojo. He didn't see anyone that seemed out of place, but two guys approached him. "Hey there, come to do some training?" Julian hesitated, he wasn't sure if he had heard that right. He was here to look into the mystery of the missing Gym Leader, but why not have a battle while he was at it? Julian stood on one corner of the ring and the guy - who introduced himself as Lao - stood at the opposite corner. He released his Machop into the ring. Machop flexed his muscles, posing for the imaginary crowd.
Machop chopped Noctowl's chest twice, sending the owl stumbling back into the ropes. Machop then climbed the turnbuckle and dove off. Noctowl was too quick, however, and put him to sleep in mid-dive. Noctowl flew up and perched on the same turnbuckle, using Dream Eater and then Psychic.
TL;DR Machop used Dual Chop (-60, 260/320) Noctowl used Hypnosis. Machop is asleep. Noctowl used Dream Eater (-200, 100/300) Machop is asleep. Noctowl used Psychic (-200, 0/300) Machop fainted! Julian Malcolm Lao sent out Mankey, and Julian sent out Tank. Tank was pretty big to be standing in the ring, and Mankey looked rather intimidated to be fighting the giant palm tree. Mankey jumped up to the top rope, using that to spring-board up onto Tank's head. Mankey then scratched Tank a total of five times before he could shake the monkey off. Tank hit with Psyshock after Psyshock until Monkey couldn't move any more.
Mankey used Fury Swipes (-100, 110/210) Tank used Hypnosis. Mankey is asleep. Tank used Psyshock (-140, 190/330) Mankey is asleep. Tank used Psyshock (-140, 50/330) Mankey is asleep. Julian Malcolm
"Well, that was... unexpected." Lao said, raising an eyebrow skeptically at the deaf Trainer. "You're pretty tough." He looked around for something, before he grinned. "HEY YOSHI, GET OVER HERE." He was still grinning, and turned back to Julian. "You may have beat me, but I want to see how you do against Yoshi." During the time it took for Yoshi to finish up his sparring across the room, Julian sprayed his Pokemon with Potions to fully heal them. Yoshi came jogging over with his Machop at his side. "This kid's Pokemon are pretty good, check it out."
"Oh yeah?" He grinned and motioned towards the ring. "Machop, you're match is next." Machop rolled under the bottom rope and struck a pose. Julian couldn't help but smile, they were very entertaining. Well if they were using another Machop, then he was going to try something different. He looked at Typhlosion, and the Pokemon's eyes went wide as if to say 'you think I'm climbing into that ring?' Julian grinned and nodded. Typhlosion looked unhappy, but finally managed to climb beneath the middle rope, his feet kicking on the apron trying to boost his hind end into the ring. "A Typhlosion, huh?" Needless to say, Typhlosion didn't feel like posing.
Machop leaned back into the ropes, using them to boost his momentum as he ran forward and drop-kicked Typhlosion's shins. He roared out, swiping a massive paw upside Machop's head to knock him down, placed a heavy paw on his chest to pin him there and used Fire Blast. Machop 'broke the pin', rolled out of the way and chopped Typhlosion's face to knock off the item he was carrying. Typhlosion fired another Fire Blast attack that sent Machop into the corner ring post. He was leaning on the ropes for support. He looked hurt.
Typhlosion, believing his opponent to be hurt, lumbered over to finish off the fight when Machop sprung into action. He'd only been feigning an injury! Machop gripped Typhlosion's waist, actually managing to lift the much larger Pokemon over his head and suplex him. Julian was stunned, he couldn't believe what he'd just seen. Machop retreated to the other end of the ring, striking poses and gloating. Typhlosion, however, put himself into a seated position and rubbed his injured head. This was all just another wrestling show to them, and some Wrestlers would do anything it might take to win.
While Machop had his back turned gloating, Typhlosion launched another Fire Blast attack that hit him from behind. Machop dropped to one knee, one eye shut from the pain that he actually was experiencing now. Knowing this might be his final move, Machop gathered all the strength he had left to run into the ropes, bouncing off of them and running towards Typhlosion then dropping low and taking Typhlosion's feet out from under him. Both Pokemon hit the mat, but Machop was having more trouble getting back up. Typhlosion, however, rose to his feet in a bad mood. He lifted Machop up, threw him out of the ring and before Machop could even hit the ground, he was hit with a powerful Fire Blast attack. Typhlosion picked his held item back up and jumped out of the ring.
TL;DR Machop used Low Kick (-50, 250/300) Typhlosion used Fire Blast (-100, 240/340) Machop used Knock Off (-60, 190/300) Typhlosion used Fire Blast (-100, 140/340) Machop used Seismic Toss (-40, 150/300) Typhlosion used Fire Blast (-100, 40/340) Machop used Low Kick (-50, 100/300) Typhlosion used Fire Blast (-100, 0/340) Machop fainted! Yoshi pulled a Pokeball out of one of the pockets on his gi. When he sent out a Machoke, Julian knew things were getting a bit more serious. This time, the Pokemon would not only have strength but size as well. He took a few moments to think about who he should send in, before finally deciding on Noctowl. The owl flew up and over the top rope, not even landing in the ring before Machoke locked in a submission move. "He isn't letting up until you tap!" Yoshi yelled, and Lao laughed.
"Turn your head around and use Hypnosis." Julian spoke into the owl's mind. Noctowl turned his head completely around and his eyes started to glow. The pressure let up as Machoke fell away, asleep. Hitting with Dream Eater after Dream Eater, he plagued Machoke's sleep with nightmares while draining his energy until Machoke was in no condition to battle. Just like that, they had defeated Yoshi as well. Julian jumped into action immediately, healing both Typhlosion and making sure Noctowl was completely healed as well.
TL;DR Machoke used Submission (-80, 240/320) Machoke is hit with recoil (-20, 320/340) Noctowl used Hypnosis. Machoke is asleep. Julian Malcolm
They both laughed, looking from one another to Julian; as if sharing on some inside joke. What was so funny? "You're strong Kid, not many people come through here who can beat us, but we're nothing compared to what you're going up against next." Julian watched them curiously. What was going on here? "If you want to battle the Gym Leader, you'll have to go through there." He pointed towards a door Julian hadn't noticed at the back of the room. He walked over, opening the door and looking out into the cave tunnel. How weird was that? It was as if the Gym was built around the cave system. He took the plunge, walking in. The tunnel opened up into a massive cavern. He couldn't hear the waterfall, but he could see it and feel the ground trembling by it's power. What the... looking closer, he noticed there was a Man standing beneath the powerful waterfall. He was actually sparring with one of his Pokemon beneath the water. Julian walked over, not really sure how to proceed. He couldn't exactly call out, and the Man seemed very focused on his training. Coming to a decision, he sent out Quagsire who walked over and interrupted their training. Leading them out of the waterfall, Chuck laughed and looked the Trainer over. "Well, I didn't expect to be taking any battles today, but I'm never one to refuse." It was the only reason anyone would come this far into the mountain to see him, was to battle him in hopes of collecting their fifth Gym Badge. He sent out Primeape. Julian didn't want to expose his strategy just yet, so rather than sending out Noctowl he decided to use Quagsire; the Pokemon was already out, after all. They squared off, Quagsire looked as if he didn't care, just here to be here rather than being in a serious battle with a powerful Gym Leader.
Primeape didn't like that, he felt like he wasn't being taken seriously and this enraged him. He used Cross Chop, hitting Quagsire in the chest. Quagsire whipped up a Blizzard attack, which froze Primeape solid. He didn't hold back either, kicking the blizzard up a notch or two. The block of ice got thicker and thicker, until Chuck knew the first battle was over. There was no way Primeape could break free, so Chuck recalled the fighting monkey. "Well... that was a quick fight."TL;DR Primeape used Cross Chop (-80, 170/250) Quagsire used Blizzard (-100, 280/380) Primeape is frozen solid! Quagsire used Blizzard (-100, 180/380) Primeape is frozen solid! Quagsire used Blizzard (-100, 80/380) Primeape is frozen solid! Quagsire used Blizzard (-100, 0/380) Primeape has fainted!

Julian Malcolm Even though he'd been handed the first loss of the match, the Gym Leader called Chuck didn't seem all that worried. Hell, he was smiling, which made Julian that much more nervous. What tricks were left up his sleeves? The Water-Type Pokemon he'd been training with beneath the waterfall stepped forward, and Julian knew that his best bet to counter the Poliwrath was with Tank. The Exeggutor stomped twice on the ground like a sumo wrestler, before lumbering towards Poliwrath. The Water-Type was too quick though, and through Hypnosis put him to sleep.
Poliwrath used Submission to hold Exeggutor in place. He then used the water from the waterfall in a Surf attack, the wave washing up and over the two Pokemon. Exeggutor woke up, and fell over backwards onto Poliwrath. Now separated, Tank rose back to his feet and used Hypnosis as well. With Poliwrath asleep, the Leaf Storm attack picked up and the razor-sharp leaves cut and sliced into Poliwrath until Chuck recalled him. "Alright, every great fighter knows when to tap. The fight isn't over though."
TL;DR Round 1 Poliwrath used Hypnosis. Exeggutor is asleep. Round 2 Poliwrath used Submission (-40, 170/210) Poliwrath is hit by recoil (-10, 370/380) Exeggutor is asleep. Round 3 Poliwrath used Surf (-40, 130/210) Exeggutor woke up! Exeggutor used Hypnosis. Round 4 Poliwrath is asleep. Tank used Leaf Storm (-240, 130/380) Round 5 Poliwrath is asleep. Julian Malcolm He didn't show the slightest hint of anger or concern that he might lose, the Fighting-Type Gym Leader just rolled with the punches. He sent out a Hitmonchan next, and Julian was impressed though not surprised. Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee trained constantly, and they only respected Trainers who could keep up with them. If anyone could, however, this powerful-looking Man could. Chuck was still smiling. "Hitmonchan, get in close." Hitmonchan rushed Quagsire, striking out with ferocious fists until Quagsire used Blizzard to create some separation.
Hitmonchan followed that up with a Sky Uppercut, getting in close again and striking Quagsire under the jaw. Quagsire wobbled a bit, trying to keep his footing but fell over with a 'thud'. It was clear that Hitmonchan was good. He would just have to be better, and if he couldn't keep the distance between the Pokemon then maybe sending out a Pokemon with a size advantage would help. Tank entered the battle, and Hitmonchan rushed in close again, striking out again and again until put to sleep by a Hypnosis attack.
As Hitmonchan snoozed, Tank used two Psyshock attacks before he woke up again and started with the same deadly punches. It worked the first time, so Tank put Hitmonchan to sleep again. Not letting Tank get his attacks out, Julian wanted to rub it in a bit and add insult to injury by sending his little Growlithe into battle. One quick bite was all it took, and Hitmonchan was down for the count.

Julian Malcolm Knowing he was down to his last Pokemon, Chuck was prepared for the worse. This kid had some strong Pokemon, especially compared to most of the Trainers who faced him. He wasn't throwing in the towel just yet, however, because his last Pokemon was his strongest. Machamp erupted out of his Pokeball, flexing his powerful muscles to intimidate anyone he might be fighting. Julian looked down at the Pokeball resting in his hand and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and nodded before sending his own Pokemon out into battle. Noctowl flew around the cavern, there was plenty of room for him to stretch his wings and keep his distance from Machamp.
Or so he thought. Machamp jumped high into the air, chipping the owl as he flew by. Noctowl was knocked off course, but caught himself before hitting the ground and kept airborne. Noctowl's eyes glowed red just as Machamp jumped up again, and this time instead of connecting Noctowl flew straight up. Machamp's body landed heavily on the cavern floor, he was out cold. From a safe distance, Noctowl used Dream Eater, and followed it up with Psychic. The Psychic attack lifted Machamp up into the air so they were level.
Then, Machamp's eyes snapped open. He broke the Psychic attack, lunging forward and slamming his fist into the owl. Both Pokemon fell from the sky. Machamp landed firmly on his feet while Noctowl landed on his back. Machamp approached the owl, ready to deliver the finishing blow when Noctowl suddenly stood up and used Psychic to throw Machamp all the way back into the waterfall. He disappeared through the water, and didn't walk back out so Chuck knew that he'd just lost. Julian had thought of the idea after watching Machop feign an injury in the ring to lure his Pokemon in, and had instructed Noctowl to pretend he was vulnerable. TL;DR Round 1 Machamp used Cross Chop (-80, 240/320) Noctowl used Hypnosis. Round 2 Machamp is asleep. Leader ChuckWithout a word, Chuck returned his last Pokemon, his face dead-pan and serious. He stood tall and marched across the field, staring Julian right in the eyes as he made his way across the rocky field. Chuck didn't stop until he was directly in front of Julian, and incredibly close to him, leering down at the young man. With his muscles tight, and a serious face, he stared at Julian for a moment, with a look that could strike fear into anyone. But after that moment, his seriousness disappeared and he let out a burly laugh. "Boy, you really know how to put up a fight!" he said with another burly laugh, and hit Julian on the shoulder. It was an effort to show good sportsmen ship, but Chuck might have put a but more force then needed on accident. "I'll really need to kick my training into gear with my Pokemon, I haven't been beaten in a while" he exclaimed. "You know, the hands on training sure helps out. You should try it with your Pokemon before challenging Jasmine, it might help you out!" He told him before reaching into his pocket for the badge and rewards. "But a loss is a loss, and what a loss that was! You've earned this." Chuck told him with a wide grin, knowing the young man battled hard and deserved it.Julian has received: Storm Badge TM31 Brick Break +83 exp split between Noctowl, Typhlosion, Growlithe, Quagsire, and Exeggcutor Bonus: +15 exp to each active party Pokemon +3 max revives +3 full restores

Julian Malcolm Julian accepted the congratulations, and victory items from the Gym Leader. There was one item in particular he was most interested in, however, and that was the Storm Badge. It was his fifth, and it proved - to himself if not anyone else that he does actually have what it takes to do this on his own. His Father would be very proud of him, but he didn't want to call home again until he made it all the way up to eight of them. He hadn't heard or noticed that they weren't alone until he turned around to leave and nearly walked right into her. Chuck laughed; apparently he knew she was there and wanted to see Julian's surprise. Probably as revenge for beating him, though he wasn't a sore loser.
"Hi there, I'm Jasmine. When I heard that someone was battling Chuck here I had to come by and watch. You're pretty good. You may even have what it takes to beat me. I'll be waiting in my Gym for you back in Olivine City. Hurry back." She walked away with a smile and a wave to Chuck. Julian stood there for a moment, before he gathered his senses and left the Gym.
He hurried back to the Pokemon Center to make sure all of his Pokemon were fully healed. Then he changed into his swim-suit and started towards the beach. Umbreon and Espeon recognized where they were going, and they were excited to get to play in the sand again. It was great fun for them.

The Nidoking didn't show much aggression, not like it had when she had accidentally released it in the middle of that burning city, but it wasn't exactly compliant either. She knew that she had only just captured the Pokemon, and had much conditioning and training that she needed to go through with it before it could be considered a trusted part of her working team, but she knew that she needed to utilize its ability to swim for the time being to get across the ocean. She wasn't sure how well the trip would go since she barely knew the Pokemon, but with it at least needing to tread water to keep itself breathing, she knew that she wouldn't have too much to worry about. And so it was, later that afternoon, Demeter came up on the shores of Cianwood City on the back of the Nidoking that she had captured, and surprisingly made it in one piece with Loki beside her. The giant poison type made easy work of coming up on the shore and climbing out of the water, effectively dumping Demeter and Loki onto the wet sand, but she had to admit that she didn't even think she would make it across the ocean, so that was a minor side effect she thought at least. Pokemon Encounter: 62/--Trainer Battle: 153/25Moving: 2/3 -> Olivine CityItem Posting: (Eviolite) 12/40Where: In the middle of Ecruteak CityCompany: No oneMood: Tired, determined, tactical, trying to focusThinking: I've lost so much time, and we need to be prepared for more in the futureWearing: --Out of Ball: Loki, CalciferOOC:--Having at least made it into the city, with Loki joining by her side, Demeter knew that her next mission would be the gym leader here, a fighting type leader named Chuck. She hoped that she could at least challenge this gym the same day, and then maybe make it back to Olivine the next day in order to challenge the leader Jasmine that she knew, and then she felt like she would be back on track a little bit after having lost so much time. From there though, she knew that the Leader in Mahogany town was next, and then Blackthorn City from there, but in order to make her rise through the league just a little bit more realistic, she would need to take things slower perhaps in approaching the last two gyms for the region. She knew those leaders out of most would be expecting extremely well worked teams and trainers who had spent the time to get to where they were, and she had a feeling that the gym leaders all communicated with each other. If it got around that she was traveling around their gyms too fast, it might raise suspicion or make her less likely to get in their good graces, so she might have to take a pause after she was finished with Jasmine. In the mean time, Demeter made her way through the small coastal city in order to find the gym there to challenge, and again it was another plain looking building at the edge of town up against the rocky wall formation to the north, and Demeter had to wonder if these leaders really cared about presentation at all. She had put some thought into her coming challenge, and knew that she at least wanted to work Naveera a little in her recovery to make sure that the dragon could get back her strength, so she could handle any preliminary battles that might occur. Calcifer though, despite him calling dibs on the next challenge since Loki got to take on Morty, was in fact going to take on the leader Chuck and his fighting type Pokemon since Demeter knew the ghost did well against the physical types that were sure to be in the gym. Walking into the gym, with Loki in his guise and Calcifer hidden in the shadows, Demeter was approached by two of the men that were training in what appeared to be a dojo of some kind, where many different kinds of work out equipment could be found, and it seemed that they were the challenge before the leader Chuck to make sure that she was ready. Wanting to put Naveera back to work, Demeter released the dragon for the battles against the fighting type Pokemon to begin. {Demeter vs Lao (Click)}Machop | Lv. 40 | HP 300 | Ability: Guts Naveera | Lv. 30 | HP 230 | Ability: Infiltrator | Holding: Rocky Helmet

Instead, Demeter was bid through a large double doorway and out into the daylight again, but in the back of the gym she was met with a narrow pathway of rocky walls that seemed to lead into the mountains that made up the western half of this land. Demeter glanced at Loki before she moved forward with him to head into the mountains, and when the light faded and the air got colder because the lack of sunlight, she was met with an enormous gaping cavern that was carved into the rocks inside, with flood lights lining the high walls and the roaring sound of a waterfall echoing off of the cave walls. She could see in the middle of the cavern, the outline of a standard Pokemon arena field, and it was apparently here that she would need to take her challenge against the leader Chuck. "Hey, what are you doing in here," came a booming voice over the ever present sound of the cascading waterfall, and Demeter looked down with her gray eyes from the ledge that she had walked out onto to find a man walking over the bottom of the cavern with a Machamp beside him that too looked up to the assumed trespasser. "I defeated your dojo, I came here to challenge you for your badge," Demeter answered in kind, taking a step closer to the edge of the ledge to get a better look down at the leader. "Oh is that right? You and what army," Chuck taunted, seeing nothing around the girl save for the slender figure of a man standing beside her. He wanted to know what power she showed to take on his dojo and so blatantly walk in here to challenge him, and he was trying to get in her head too to intimidate her and make her question her capabilities. "So, it's my turn now, right? Can I show up tubby down there," came Calcifer's voice from the shadows, looking up to Demeter with his red eyes and a wide toothy grin. "I don't think I'll need an army," Demeter spoke back, side stepping from her spot on the ground to let Calcifer make his appearance. "Oh wait, this is gonna be great, watch this," Calcifer snickered, and from the ground began to emerge a smoldering red color of pulsing shadows, earning both Chuck's attention and the attention of the Machamp that stood beside him, and in a burst of dark energy Calcifer came from the ground, larger and now taller than Demeter in a blood red skin as he gave an audible sort of 'blalala' sounding noise, probably in his attempt to make himself intimidating back. "Calcifer, what the hell, what is this," Demeter whispered, glaring at him now as the Gengar only looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean? I've always been able to do this," Calcifer replied, looking at Demeter like she was really quite dumb, and he could see the gears turning in her head as she looked at him, she recognized this shape, this form from somewhere, as though it was something from the nightmares that he used to induce upon her when she was younger, some demonic form of him that would try to eat her and burn her alive. "How about we carry on this conversation after we've taken the battle," Loki tried to say since the leader was starting to look at them funny from the ground. "A ghost, huh? Don't think that we don't know how to handle a ghost around here," Chuck spoke, knowing that many did try to come to his gym, especially after fighting Morty, with ghosts in hopes that the non sentient beings would be able to evade the more physical plane that his fighting types existed on, but he was prepared and well versed against ghost types and was ready to take on the battle against the red devil of a Gengar. {Demeter vs Chuck (Click)}Primeape | Lv. 49 | HP 380 | Ability: Vital Spirit Calcifer | Lv. 48 | HP 360 | Ability: Shadow Tag | Holding: Gengarite

- Kira Anne Williams - ♪ I'm gonna show you what little girls are made of, gunpowder and... gunpowder and lead! ♪ Kira didn't bother correcting Morty's belief that she'd intentionally used Haunter to navigate the pitch-black Gym. She'd let him be impressed by her ingenuity long enough to compliment her and hand over the badge related to his loss. "I may have fought hard, but you had good strategy. Putting my Pokemon to sleep like that... well, all I did was hit real hard. Like I said though, I know how to work on that now. Thanks again!" She waved as she left the Gym, now able to see where she was going and also see the Pokemon that had caused her confusion to begin with. As she was walking out, Haunter returned to her side. Apparently the moment she began the battle, he had gone off to play with the ghosts around the Gym.
After a quick stop into the Pokemon center, she flew off to the next Gym which could be found in Cianwood City. She went right into the building that was to be the Gym and found her way into a cave. She could see trainers battling on the ridges leading up to the top, where a large waterfall was falling right onto the shapes of someone and their Pokemon doing some training. She wasn't here to waste time, so she walked right up o the first Gym Leader and let him know that she was here for a fight. Seemed he was happy for a chance to do some training and defeat a weak-looking Trainer who couldn't possibly be prepared for Chuck, not that he actually said that. Still, she could tell by the way people tended to look at her.
That's what made it so amazing when she shut him up with Charizard and Dragonair taking out his two Fighting-Type Pokemon. Sure, she could have beaten him with some of her weaker Pokemon, but she wanted to silence the doubters before ever even seeing Chuck face-to-face. Perhaps it would have been smarter to keep her strength a secret but she'd spent enough time silencing not only the doubts of others, but of herself and she was ready for a fight!
So she moved onto the next Gym Trainer, someone who had his Machop out training with his Machoke. She approached them and let him know that she was here to fight, and he nodded to Machop who in turn stepped forward. Deciding again on a show of strength, she kept Charizard out for this fight. It wasn't hard to guess what happened next; the much larger and mega-evolved Charizard decimated Machop and set the stage for the smallest of her team - Noibat - to finish Machoke. No matter how hard the larger Fighting-Type tried, he couldn't get his hands on Noibat long enough to do any damage before being Psychic'd into submission.
When she was ready, and her team restored via a number of Potions, she approached the roaring waterfall. She could still see the outline of training creatures within, and couldn't imagine how anyone could stand under that, let alone train and fight under it. Well, when in Rome. Just as she was about to start calling out to him, she sneezed and a powerful blast shit right into the waterfall at the unsuspecting Gym Leader. Oh Arceus, that wasn't good. He was going to think she'd told her Pokemon to attack him.
He made his appearance looking.. well, she couldn't tell, but she hoped it wasn't anger she saw on his face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Something's happening and I can't seem to control it." That pro ably wouldn't explain much to the Gym Leader, or do much to placate him, but she hadn't come here to apologize. "since you're here, I'm ready for a fight!" At those words, two Pokemon which had been fighting one another under the water emerged after their Trainer. It was a Primeape and Poliwrath, and the Primeape leaped forward to attack. Apparently it was angry at the unexpected attack coming so close to him. Fortunately Noibat had not been returned from the earlier fights against the Gym Trainers, and she intercepted the attack only to hit back with Psychic. Primeape was sent into the waterfall, and did not emerge again.
Poliwrath stared into the water, but seemed to decide it was his turn. Kira sent out Charizard, and the two of them locked up in a test of strength. They had their hands matched and were trying to overpower the other when Charizard opened her mouth point-blank and shot a Solar Beam right into the Poliwrath's unprotected face. Poiwrath went down to one knee, then Charizard shot another down right on top of the felled Poliwrath. It never stood a chance. Charizard smirked and returned to the red-haired Trainer's side. Chuck took this in good stride, considering.
He sent out a Hitmonchan and Kira returned Charizard only to send out Dragonair in her place. The Fighting-Type Pokemon was fast, but couldn't do much damage to Dragonair. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Dragonair only had to land one good Blizzard attack to freeze Hitmonchan on the spot. She followed up with a trio of Blizzards that only deepened the block of ice Hitmonchan was frozen under.
Eventually Chuck knew there was no escape, and sent out his final Pokemon. The giant Machamp looked like it would surely be the strongest of the enemy team, but Kira was surprised to find that Noibat was able to keep out of it's grasp (for the most part) and bombard the enemy with enough Psychic Attacks that it's brain seemed to just... shut down mid-battle. Kira returned all of her Pokemon except Charizard (who she would need to fly out of here) and walked out to meet Chuck. "You for sure have a strong team!" She exclaimed. "No doubt. If I had a different team, you might have won. My Pokemon's types were just better suited for this battle."TL;DR Lao Charizard (420/420) vs Machop (300/300) Charizard used Fly! Leader ChuckChuck returned his muscular Pokémon. He remained silent through out the battle, aside from the attack commands. He had a serious look on his face as he looked across the rocky battle field at the young challenger. He silently made his way across the battle field with his stern and serious expression. Standing up straight to tower over the red head, he stopped and looked down at the girl with his arms crossed. With his size and strength most would find this to be fairly intimidating. He remained silent as she commented on his strong team, and continued on to say she only managed to win because of the Pokémon she had on her side. He kept up this expression until he couldn't any longer, after her modest win. A wide grin stretched across his face and let out a nice large belly laugh. Whether he managed to intimidate her or not, he found it amusing, keeping up the tough façade. "I appreciate the modesty, but you definitely put my Pokémon through a tough workout. It's been quite some time since they took a beating, might have been good for 'em." He told her with a nod. He looked over to Lao, and nodded his head to signal him over. "It was a tough battle no doubt, so you earned my Storm Badge with honor." He told her as Lao moved forward and held out her rewards. Chuck having a lack in pockets, and outfit in general, had them deliver the earned rewards. "I just hope you can give old grump Pryce just as tough of a beating." he joked with another belly laugh as he reached out to give Kira a pat on the back, which was a bit stronger then might have meant to. He and Lao began to make their way back to training in the waterfalls, before he remembered something. "I didn't see what Pokémon did that, and you said it was an accident, but you might want to be careful. Pryce and Claire might not be able to take a blast like I can. Their Pokémon might not like it either." He warned, as he gave his belly a hardy smack as he talked about taking an attack. He did train with his Pokémon after all, so he figure he could handle an attack better then those two could.Kira has received: Storm Badge TM31 Brick Break +83 exp split between Noibat, Charizard, and Dragonair Bonus: +20 exp to each party Pokémon x3 hold/form change items of your choice

Elfana Aroway Cianwood wasn't much of an improvement to Olivine but the boat trip there was nice. She was actually looking forward to the return trip. Unfortunately they were stuck in Cianwood for the majority of the day. She hadn't been able to find a boat that would take them back sooner. As per usual, their first stop was the Pokemon Center. Walter stayed outside in order to avoid a repeat of what had happened in Olivine City. In hindsight, they should have expected something like that to happen in at least one of the Pokemon Centers. He would likely avoid the Pokemon Centers around Olivine just to be safe. After her book was stamped, they headed down to the beach. If they were going to be stuck there all day the least they could do was spend some time at the beach. Elfana and her team spent the day relaxing by the water- or trying to anyway. At several points she had to fish her Cranidos out of the ocean. Cranberry couldn't swim. Who could have seen that coming? Relaxing turned into monitoring the fossil which...honestly...was more fun than she would make it sound. Cranberry was an adorable dork. Her team was returned to their Pokeballs when they headed back towards the dock. She wasn't looking forward to going back to Olivine but it was the fastest way to Aborville. - Kira Anne Williams - ♪ I'm gonna show you what little girls are made of, gunpowder and - gunpowder and lead! ♪ Sure enough, when darkness fell, Kira used the light of Charizard's flame to guide her through the night sky. She was not going to stop tonight, but she would have to take a long nap at some point the next day. One day was one thing, but to go two days without sleep was pushing it. Not even the super-powers of youth could give that kind of ability. They landed in Cianwood late at night. Kira entered the Pokemon Center to see a few Pokemon Trainers waiting impatiently in the waiting room.
"Is everything okay?" She asked one of the Trainers, but he just shrugged and brushed her off. Controlling her temper and deciding to ignore his ignoring her, she went to find the Nurse. When she found her, she was busy tending to about five different Pokemon all at once. "Nurse Joy? What's happened here? Is everything okay?" She could see that the Nurse was busy, and visibly worried, but she wanted to know if there was anything she could do to help.
The Nurse looked up in surprise. "Oh, yeah... everything is fine. Or at least it will be. Something attacked a bunch of Trainers camping out in the woods. All of these Pokemon were injured, and they couldn't even lay a finger on it. I'm worried that the only attacks aren't going to stop until someone does something about it." Kira froze. She'd wanted to help, but it occurred to her that this was going to cut into her already limited remaining time. She requested a stamp, and in retur promised that as soon as she finished this challenge, she would be back to challenge the wild Pokemon responsible for these attacks.

There were only ten stamps left to collect, ten cities left in the Johto Region to finish, and Emiri was elated to know that working on this together, they were going to complete this great journey around the world. It had been such a fun time, reflecting on all of the places they’d visited and the bonding that they got to rekindle after their most recent hardships, and the new bonds that Emiri got to build with the new companions that she had met recently. Burst had been out with them most of the flight around the world, learning and observing every new location that they visited, and Aslan was close with Emiri in a more subconscious presence since it seemed that he had those sort of psychic type capabilities. Galahad had flown with them now ever since they’d left the Galar Region, learning about the dynamic of their team, the strength in their work together and learning about Emiri as a human companion. All of it was something Emiri knew would be invaluable as she continued to get to know the Pokemon that she had the privilege of traveling with, and she couldn’t be more grateful for it all. In western Johto, on the other side of the ocean that cut through the region, Cianwood City was the next location on Emiri’s Map to visit. Emiri lead her Pokemon through the air towards the Pokemon Center and landed just outside, and with a smile she was able to get her next stamp from Nurse Joy, counting down still to each stamp left for the race.
