Aside from the Galar League Season and the incredible phenomena known as Dynamax that is specific to the region, Galar is famous for its vast expanses of natural landscapes in between its major routes and cities. Each of these mapped areas span for miles and miles in each direction, providing a unique environment to the Pokemon that call this giant expanse home. Ranging from giant forests to sprawling fields of grass, to lakes and small islands or enormous cliff faces and dusty rocks, there are so many different kinds of environments and so many different kinds of Pokemon that can be found in the Galar Region, that it has become a true marvel.

At last Church made it to his goal. As the rolling fields stretched out in front of him he took a moment to enjoy the fresh air and scorching sun. After growing up in a dark punk-obsessed city, nature had an almost pure and relaxing quality to it that put even Church at ease. However he didn't spend too much time standing around in the sun, it was time to find himself some pokemon. He found a nice spot near a shallow pond and got to work setting up his camp. He planned to stay here for awhile to train, so making a camp only made sense. It was much better than having to walk back to town just for their next meal. This way he could focus more on getting his pokemon up to snuff and ready for what lay ahead.
"You two ready to make yourselves useful?" He turned and glanced at Chibi and Lilith who stood watching him. Chibi looked away ashamed while Lilith gave a snort in reply, likely glad to be at least doing something now that she had a new trainer. Besides, to a Tyrantrum getting stronger was the best thing she could ask for.

Once the camp was complete Church headed out into the fields with his pokemon and began searching for a pokemon worth catching. Here and there he saw the occasional pokemon, but none of them were really what he was looking for. Bug, Poison, Flying, Fire. He repeated the types in his head as he searched for something that would fit in with his team. A strong fire or flying type would be best. He wasn't much of a fan of most bug types besides the rare few that were actually good fighters. However he doubted he would find any of those here, especially not with the sun this hot. It took him a good half an hour before he finally caught up to a Growlithe loping about in the field up ahead.
"Alright Lilith, show me what you've got." At her trainer's command Lilith gave a roar and charged ahead towards the unsuspecting Growlithe.

Lvl. 10 Growlithe appeared!
Lilith used Ancient Power!
Growlithe took 100 damage! [0/70HP]
Growilthe fainted!

Church was both surprised and disappointed the battle ended so soon. Lilith had overwhelmed the pup before it even knew what had hit it. He approached the downed pokemon and nudged it's side with his foot, smiling as the puppy pokemon growled. Good spirit. He pulled an empty pokeball from his belt and tossed it down at the pokemon, watching as the ball shook furiously for a few moments before it grew still with a sharp click. He had found his fire-type.

Church headed back to the camp before setting up his training gear. He planned to go back to wedgehurst to heal the growithe and take the train to the next city, but first they had some training to do.
"Alright you two, lets start with a warm up." Church jumped from one foot to the other with his arms crossed in front of him, dipping low each time on one leg until the muscle in his thighs screamed. He stopped his demonstration and ordered his pokemon to do the same move without stopping until he said so. "This will build your leg muscles and make you faster in combat as well as up your endurance. Even a stronger opponent can be taken out if they can't hit you." He gave the explanation after getting a confused stare from Lilith, who then gave a nod and immediately began shifting from one foot to the other, her large size making it even more of a workout than it would be for someone smaller. Chibi also crossed his little arms and began jumping from foot to foot, dipping low like Church did. Chibi at once realized the simple-looking move was actually very straining, and within a few minutes of doing the move he began to pant hard. "Keep it up!"

After about thirty minutes both pokemon looked bone tired, even Lilith the Tyrantrum was huffing with the effort. Church watched on and nodded, satisfied with their progress so far. They were doing better than some of the other pokemon he had trained in the past. There was hope yet.
"Alright, take a five minute break." Immediately the two pokemon sank to the ground and tried to catch their breath, their legs screaming from the training. Chibi didn't know if he felt any stronger, he just felt like his legs had become jelly and breathing was hard. Was training always like this? How did pokemon do it? He couldn't imagine.
"Ok, breaks up. Chibi over here." Church gestured to the Grookey and waisted as it limped over. "Now lets work on your moves. Use razor leaf on this tree until I tell you to stop." Chibi looked up at the massive oak and felt a pit form in his stomach. He didn't expect him to cut it down, right?

"Lilith you're over here." Church walked over to a nearby boulder and gestured to it as the Tyrantrum strided up to him. "You use ancient power to try and break this rock, keep going until its done." At the challenge Lilith gave a roar and immediately a while glowing orb formed in front of her jaws, with a snap she sent it at the boulder. Church had to spin out of the way as the move wizzed by, party annoyed but also impressed.

Chibi stood staring at the huge oak for a few moments before gritting his teeth and throwing his hands above his head. The air above him shimmered for a moment before razor-sharp leaves appeared and shot forward at the tree with a wave of his arms. The leaves struck the tree and sliced tiny marks into it's hard bark, but otherwise didn't do a whole lot. Determined, Chibi tried again and again, creating a wider area of cuts with none of them had any real depth.
"Focus your aim, Chibi. Lock on to one spot and focus all of the leaves on it." At his trainer's words Chibi tried again, and again, and again. Eventually he started to get better control of his leaves, and as he struck the same spot again and again the gouges in the bark started to get deeper. The little Grookey was panting with the effort of using the move repeatedly, yet seeing his own improvement made him only want to try harder. He was actually doing it!

Meanwhile, Lilith continued to bash the rock with her ancient power. By now she had created a massive hole in the boulder, yet it still stood. That wasn't good enough for her. She didn't need any advice from Church so he merely walked over to their camp and began setting up for supper. He had some things to think about while he cooked. Mostly about what path he wanted to take in life. He had caught a fire type to even out his team and to take on Milo, but did he really want to remain in Galar? He could always come back to destroy the Stray Dogs once he was stronger. The thought had been nagging at the back of his mind for some time now. Should he stay or should he travel the world? What would make him stronger the fastest? Honestly he didn't know. Maybe he would take on Milo and see how he felt about it after.

Church cooked himself some food and sat watching his pokemon train. Chibi was getting a lot of progress done on the tree, having cut a gash into the tree about five inches deep. If he kept at it he would fall the tree and likely get a confidence boost on top of better control over his razor leaf. Lilith on the other hand suddenly destroyed the boulder with one last blast of her ancient power, the rubble raining down around her as she shook off the dust and gave a satisfied grumble.
"Good job Lilith, come get some food." He placed a large piece of meat on a stump for the dino pokemon, and in one chomp it was gone. Lilith licked her lips and laid down with a content sigh. She felt stronger and satisfied for the first time in her life and she was enjoying the feeling of it. She knew if she stuck with Church she could become even more powerful, and the idea make her give a little smile, which looked more like a snarl than anything. Still, Church could tell she was having a good time. A lot more than Chibi was, anyway.

Chibi panted and stared at the large gash he had created. He was so close he could feel it, just a little further. His breath came in quick gasps as he forced himself to use Razor leaf again, striking the tree as hard as he could. The tree groaned but did not move. Chibi gritted his teeth and tried even harder, throwing the razor-sharp leaves with all of his might. Hit after hit the tree shook but did not fall. Church and Lilith watched on as the minutes ticked by. The Grookey was making solid progress but it was slow going. Centimeter by centimeter he cut into the thick bark until gradually the tree began to groan and lean, as if ready to snap at any moment.
"Keep it up!"

With a shriek of splintering wood the tree suddenly gaveway and crashed to the ground with a thump. Chibi stood staring at it for a long moment as if he couldn't beleive he had done it, but then he turned and looked to Church.
"Good job, come get some food." At church's words the Grookey brightened and scrambled over to the others, his body suddenly beginning to glow and change form as he neared. Church smiled at he looked at the Thwackey now in front of him. It seemed like Chibi wasn't going to be a total letdown after all. He handed the monkey pokemon some fruit before standing and starting to pack up their camp, it was finally time to head back to Wedgehurst and see to getting his Growlithe back to full health. From there who knew? Maybe they would head on to Motostroke.
