 "Our quiet borough is home to the esteemed Pokémon Research Lab."
Within the south central part of the Galar Region, Wedgehurst is one of the first well known locations for those visiting the region, for many usually arrive here through the Wedgehurst Train Station. There is no league stadium located in this town, though with it's slightly bigger size there is some shopping and recreation that can take place here, but what really puts Wedgehurst on the map is the famed laboratory of Professor Magnolia and her granddaughter Sonia. Wedgehurst is where many trainers beginning their first season with the Galar League will obtain their starter Pokemon and start off on their journies together.

[googlefont=Meddon] Olivia Oceanwing [break][break] [break] O livia exited the pokemon lab and beelines directly fo the train station, but decided to stop by the Boutique first ad get her hair and makeup redone as well as buy some new outfits. he also bought a crescent moon clip acesory for her Galarian Ponyta, and a tiny spiked choker for her Sobble. She then headed straight to the train to head out to the rolling fields.She planned to go hunting for either an eevee or some other interesting poemon there. They had to be from this Galar region, she was sure of it, and wondered if she would see the species again as she traveled. It was exciting to think about, getting a chance to travel through a new region for the first time, seeing the sites and the uniqueness of the cities and towns, and as they’d made it to what would be their first location for their stamp book in the region. It was a small southern farming town called Wedgehurst from what Emiri could tell on her map, and so as Azuran and Emiri made their descent late that night to make camp for the night, Emiri was ready to get started on a new adventure first thing that morning.
Having had all of her Pokemon out from all of their Pokeballs, Emiri gave everyone some time in the morning to relax and catch up with each other as she made her way to the Pokemon Center in the center of the town. Flareon padded along with her in being out from his Pokeball as they entered into the facility, and were able to gain their first stamp from the Galar Region from the Nurse Joy there. Elfana Aroway Elfana did not expect to be taking a train to every other town in Galar. So much for stretching her legs. There wasn't a lot to look at in Wedgehurst. The train station felt like it was the centerpiece of the town. Or maybe it was the Pokemon lab? Those two landmarks kept it relevant. She had no interest in stopping to shop so none of the other buildings held any real interest for her. They would head straight to the Pokemon Center then move on to the train station from there. Kiro and Pantalaimon continued their exploration a couple of feet in front of her. The Turtwig was loving being able to run around all he wanted. He had a lot of energy to burn off. This convinced her to take her time in getting to the Pokemon Center. If she wore himself out, he would nap through the train ride to Motostoke. When they finally reached the Pokemon Center, she went inside by herself. She didn't want to interrupt Pantalaimon's fun. The doctor collected her stamp from the nurse, storing her booklet away before she headed back outside. Pantalaimon had already turned back in the direction of the station, no doubt thanks to Kiro steering him that way. Elfana only shrugged and followed along behind them. Galar

So the girl did some shopping, buying a nice pair of black jeans and a pink top, with a black jacket and matching boots. The scarf she got almost matched her hair, which she found amusing for some reason. When she felt more appropriately dressed for the cloudy weather, she went into the Pokemon Center to collect the first stamp of her Galarian Adventure! The Nurse was pleased to see more Trainers visiting Galar, and offered her a room for the night. It was getting late, so Kira was tempted. However, she decided that there was still enough daylight left to visit one or two more places depending on how far they were.

Preston excitedly now with the small fire type in his arms could now begin his Pokemon Journey. His first mind set and goal for him right now was to catch more Pokemon and train up to take on the gyms of Galar and then the Pokemon League. "Alright Scarlet!" He spoke calling his Scorbunny by a nickname he had for her. "Today is our first step to set out and become the strongest trainer in Galar! Then perhaps the strongest trainer ever!" This young man had high hopes and dreams. But each dream starts with a single step. This, is step one.

Preston was walking rather speedily with each step, he was extremely excited that he could finally start his journey. "Maybe I should head back to Ballonlea and show Mom my new Pokemon." He spoke out loud. "Or maybe try to call her and meet her maybe in Motostoke?" He couldn't stop smiling. He truly had been waiting for this day to come and was ecstatic that the day finally came to pass. "I mean, perhaps on the way to Ballonlea, I can take on the gym challenges and make my way there. Ugh so many DECISIONS!" He sounded a bit irritated but he was still smiling. "Well whatever happens I've got you by my side Scorbunny!" The Scorbunny flailed her arms in a happy manner crying out. "Bun Buuun!" The young man smiles and holds the Scorbunny as they head off.
As he was walking along, Preston felt a pair of watchful eyes fall upon him. It was very familiar as he felt in the Glimwood Tangle when he first got to meet some of the Pokemon. Upon turning back to look back with hopes to find who it was there was nothing there. "Hmm... strange." He spoke. The Scorbunny wiggled her ears. "Scor!" Preston turned his body back forward and looks to his Scorbunny. "Huh? What is-" He stopped his sentence when he noticed a Galarian Ponyta standing in front of him. But the Ponyta looked rather familiar to him. "Whats a Ponyta doing this far out of the Glimwood Tangle. Unless... You followed me here?" With that the Ponyta nervously smiles scuffing one of her hooves at the ground. He then notice a flower in the Ponyta's mane. This normally wouldn't be a big difference but to Preston he remember his times in the Glimwood Tangle. He had a Ponyta friend whom he shared his talks with. Eventually talks about journying across the world. This was that Ponyta. "Nova! You actually came all the way here to follow me?!" Once the Ponyta nodded he laughed a bit and knelt down. "Well then I got no objections to you coming along! I am glad that my first capture will be you." He spoke to his friend. While holding the Pokeball out the Ponyta headbutted the ball lightly and eventually, she was captured.

Preston along with his two companions was about to take the first steps of his adventure ahead. When he was about to leave he was called to a stop. Thats when he was able to meet up with his mother. She was happy that he was about to mark his stamp on the world. She gave him a single Pokeball with a Pokemon inside before she headed off to work. Preston received a newly revived Lileep.

Grim followed the trail leading to the town of Wedgehurst. He hadn't had any luck finding more pokemon worth capturing along the way and was feeling a tad impatient at this point. He hadn't realized finding pokemon in the wild would take so long. Maybe he just had bad luck. He could swear pokemon were normally everywhere, they had constant wild pokemon prowling the estate back home despite the guard pokemon. Yet here he could find none. Since landing in Galar he had only come across a Nickit, which normally might have been a good choice, but said Nickit had been small and rather weak. He needed stronger pokemon if he wanted to enter the gym challenge or even enter a contest. The little scrap of fur just hadn't been worth it.

Grim headed through the town and debated taking the train somewhere else that might have more promise for wild pokemon, but something kept him walking past the train. According to his map up ahead was the Rolling Fields, which had a few warnings attached to it. Apparently some strong pokemon roamed those fields, too strong for Grim to catch just yet. Did he take the train, or chance it in the fields? He was torn which direction he should go, and after some deliberation he decided to stop at the pokemon center here first and heal his pokemon. He's figure it all out after that.

Grim entered the pokemon center and was surprised at how different it was to the Alolan pokecenters he had seen in the past. Sure, it made sense each region would have their own style, but he had never thought about it before. Alolan pokecenters seemed so much more... homely. Here they were practical and spotless. It was oddly a little unnerving to be honest. Grim pushed the thoughts from his mind and strode forward to the desk, giving the nurse a polite nod. "I need him healed, please." He placed Ronin's pokeball on the tray and watched as she took him to the back. He had always been curious how the technology worked to heal pokemon, but now wasn't the time to ask about it. He was far too impatient to be off searching for pokemon again. As she returned with his pokeball he bid his thanks and quickly left, heading to the outskirts of Wedgehurst.
Ronin was healed!

Grim wandered the outskirts of the town searching down the roads and behind bushes trying to find a wild pokemon worth catching. Here and there he spotted a few soaring the sky or darting off in the distance, but none that looked promising or came near enough for him to act. He knew it would be ideal for him to catch one more pokemon before trying his luck in the Rolling Fields, though it seemed his luck was pretty bad so far. That didn't exactly bode well for his next step in the journey. I'm cursed. He knew he was being impatient and that he should be more focused on enjoying the journey, but it was hard when he didn't have any real goals in mind. Eventually he sat down on the edge of a lone road and laid back with a sigh. He needed to take a minute before he ran himself into the ground. For now he'd rest and let any potential pokemon come to him.

 Grim relaxed as the sun seeped into his bones. It was a good day and he did appreciate the good weather. He hadn't grabbed much from his room before taking off, and in his haste he hadn't grabbed anything for rain. It was a problem he was sure to meet sooner or later, but for now he was happy just basking in the sun. It felt surreal almost. He no longer had to worry about the mood his father was in, or what monstrous pokemon needing care that day. Now he only had to think of himself and his pokemon. To him, it was paradise. A rustling tore Grim from his thoughts as a yellow blurr rocketed out of a nearby bush and skidded to a stop in front of Grim and his gang. It appeared to be a yamper with a bit of a temper, it gave a low growl at Leer and braced itself as if wanting a fight. Grim smirked at the wild pokemon's spirit and gave a nod to Leer. If it wanted a fight then it found one.
Leer used Bite!
Yamper took 50 Damage!
Yamper Fainted!
Leer gained 5 exp!
Leer leveled up! Grim stood and looked at the collapsed pokemon. Although it had lost quickly, he liked it's spirit. Besides, an electric type could prove quite useful over all. He withdrew a pokeball from his bag and took aim before throwing it at the Yamper. After a few furious shakes the ball went still, a small click sound signaling a successful capture.

Overhearing some trainers talking about a fair going on far from here and that they were getting on the train. Preston thought for a moment before looking to his Pokemon, then with a smile he went with them to the train and got on board for the fair as well. Who knew what sorts of excitement the fair could hold for a new trainer!

With an excited expression on his face. Preston watched everything become a blur with the train moving as he watches everything pass by. "Gee, it has only been a little bit since I was able to start my journey. Now I'm already traveling about to explore on this adventure, I'm glad to have you by my side guys." He smiled and looked to his Pokemon. It seemed as they were sharing a smile and thought the same of Preston to be traveling with him.

Preston seemed rather restless in his seat watching as everything rushed by in a blur. By now the Ponyta was in Preston's lap asleep. The Scorbunny standing near the window watching and the Lileep was swaying with the train excitedly. Finally hearing they arrived he woke the Ponyta up and helped her down before waiting for them to arrive.

As the group arrived in Wedgehurst Grim felt a little more confident in himself. It wasn't any big change per say. But the more time he spent with his pokemon by his side the more he believed they could take on anything that came their way. The three walked in silence, but it was a comfortable silence. A purposeful silence. Occasionally Luckett brushed up against his leg as they walked as if reassuring him. For what he didn't know, but he appreciated it none the less.

Grim decided to make a quick stop at the Wedgehurst pokemon center. He knew he was long overdue to make a quick stop and make sure his pokemon were healthy, especially after taking on their last gym. He entered the building and made his way up to the desk, flashing the nurse behind the counter a smile before handing her his pokeballs and taking a seat in the waiting area. It didn't take long for her to return with his pokemon and give them back, a bright smile on her face as always. Sometimes he thought it a little eerie how happy some people were when they had to deal with people all day. There wasn't enough money in the world for Grim to ever want to deal with that.

Grim made his way towards the train station and headed up onto the boarding platform. He planned to take the train to Motostoke and walk from there through the mines. The pokemon in that area should be just strong enough to train against and get his team up to snuff, he just had to deal with a boring train ride first. He paid for his seats and sat down, Raika hopping up onto his lap and Luckett taking the seat beside him. Soon they would be on their way.

Chibi followed him quietly, his eyes widening as his trainer seemed to become more and more tense. He hadn't imagined the trainer that would one day come for him might turn out to be like this, angry and mean. A deep sadness weighed heavy in the little Grookey's chest as he realized his dreams of becoming inseparable with his trainer had just crumbled away. He wanted to cry but didn't dare to.

As Church arrived at the middle of the town, if you could even call it a town, he paused noticing a poster. The poster depicted fair rides and games, with broad lettering advertising a grand fair open now. A fair meant prizes and crowds, a dangerous combination when you had hands as sly as Church's. The man smiled at the prospect and immediately took out a map to see how far the Fair was. If he walked to Portwik he should be able to get there by boat. It seemed easy enough.
"Keep up Chibi." He headed off again at a faster pace, leaving the Grookey scrambling after him with little legs. Chibi debated asking for a ride but one look at Church told him that request wouldn't end well, so he tried his hardest to keep up with the man. Why had it become like this?

Church headed for the road leading to Postwik at a brisk walk, his Grookey scrambling after him. He was impatient to get to the Fair and scope out any prospect hits. That and maybe win some prizes while he was at it. They had to have some good shit right? They'd better if he was making the effort to travel all the way there. At least the port town wasn't too far from where he was now. He gave a smile at the thought of all the unsuspecting people having fun at the fair. It was quite possible he may get the chance to jump ahead and get himself a proper pokemon. He looked down at the pathetic Grookey running at his side and grimaced. This thing would probably take more effort to train than it was worth, but he was stuck with it for now. With a shake of his head he moved down the road and headed for Postwik.

After heading away from the Lab and partway through town Lyndissa stopped off at the berry monger, buying a few Oran berries so her current team could hold a few and save the other four. Then headed just outside of Wedgehurst to see what the local scenery was like. Sure she was starting on her journey but that didn't mean she had to rush into it, enjoying the change from what she'd grown up around in Wyndon. Especially how quiet the place was in comparison. Going so far as to set up camp so she could rest with her Salandit and Sobble. Who both reacted cheerfully to seeing her again "heh you two were only stowed for maybe an hour ya know". |
