Roma smiled as the fair came into view and her pokemon chattered excitedly. The boat slid over the waves and drifted up to the dock softly, making Roma wonder if the young man steering was taking extra care not to jostle her. She was tougher than she looked, but she did appreciate the thought. As she stood, the young man approached and helped her off the wobbly boat.
"Thank you, dear. You do your mother proud with such manners." She gave the man a nice tip before slowly making her way down the dock toward the fair in all of it's grandness. She hadn't quite expected it to be so big, but that only made it all the better.

"What shall we do first lovelies? Perhaps some games?" Missy and Spectra looked at each other before nodding eagerly and leading the way over to the game area, their trainer following with a chuckle. She had an inkling she was going to be sore by tomorrow.

Everything seemed to be happening out of order, or at the very least in a strange series of events. A girl with wildly vivid hair essentially pushed him out of the way, barking out orders to Pokemon and demanding information from him. While he started to explain what had happened, he got the impression that she wasn't even listening. Perhaps she had ordered him to talk to keep him from losing it. After all, he was covered in the blood of a complete stranger. He broke off mid-explanation and let her carry on with what she was obviously trained to do.

Exiled to the sidelines, Thomas stepped back to allow the injured girl to be carried to a hastily cleared table. He watched in fascination as she worked, but knew better than to risk getting a closer look. There was enough here which could cause complications - or worse, infection. He backed away into the gathered crowd of witnesses, hoping to get away without being stopped, questioned, or bothered. He also hoped, more than anything else in the moment, that the blonde girl was going to be okay.

He got the tickets and nabbed a funky looking little pokemon called a toxel, he named her Lyn because of a cool vibe she gave off, named after Lynette, one of his favorite drummers in a band he loved as a kid. Returning to the entrance at the fair he bid it one final adieu before heading back to the train station to make his way back to the Sinnoh region to really begin his journey, for real this time.

Buck trotted through the entrance with Roma perched on his back and the others following close behind.
"Are you sure you don't mind, dearie?" At her words the Gogoat grunted and shook his head as they headed for the docks. To Roma it seemed almost as if he enjoyed carrying her. Sure she didn't weigh much at all, but she still felt a little bad that she wasn't pulling her own weight. Though if he enjoyed giving her a ride there wasn't much she could do now was there? Her thoughts remained conflicted for a moment before she decided to go with what he wanted, she would just make it up to him later. Besides, this way she at least didn't feel like she was holding the whole group up.

As they reached the boats she slipped off his back and allowed Buck to help her onto the boat, giving in to his willingness to dote on her. She did have to admit it was kind of nice having a sturdy pokemon to hold on to rather than just her walking stick, even if she did feel bad. They waited until Spectra, Sunshine, and Missy hopped into the boat before it pulled away from the fair and out into the open waters.
"Until next time! We had so much fun, didn't we?" Roma grinned and leaned back in her seat to rest. It had been a good day.

As the boat came back in Roma remained on it. She had been so distracted by the fun and sights that she hadn't realized she had left her rolling bag at the fair. She clambered out of the boat with the help of Buck and slipped onto his back once they made it onto the dock. Without hesitation Buck trotted forward and back into the park, weaving through the crowd of people expertly. Considering everything they needed was in that bag, Buck was just as anxious to find it as his trainer was. He wasn't fond of seeing his new trainer stressed.

Briar wanted to watch the older woman work but the sight of the blood was far too much for her. Some people could function well under pressure. That woman was clearly one of them. Briar, on the other hand, was not. She wanted to see if the blonde girl would be okay but she couldn't stick around any longer. The situation was far too intense for her and the crowd wasn't making things better. She glanced over at the male who had been helping the girl previously. When he slipped away, she followed him without thinking. There was nothing she could do for the girl but she could go check on him. She had no idea what sort of help she could offer but it felt wrong to let him leave without saying something after he worked so hard to save the blonde. He needed to be praised or thanked for his efforts or...something! He had helped saved someone's life! When she caught up to him all of those thoughts went out the window unfortunately. "W-wait!" Briar called out, keeping her gaze fixed on the ground to avoid looking directly at the blood. Now would be a horrible time to faint. "I-I...A-are you okay?" Her cheeks turned a bright shade of pink almost instantly. "That was a really dumb question, wasn't it?" She placed her hand on her Arcanine's head while she struggled to figure out something less silly to say. Of course he wasn't okay! Who could be after something like that?! "S-sorry."

Thomas was so out of it that he did not even register that he was being followed away from the scene of the crime. He wasn't even sure if he should be leaving because he was a prime witness... oh Arceus, what if he was going to be arrested for that guy's murder? He wanted nothing more than to get further away, but he stumbled to the side between two game tents and came out into a clearing free of people. He was finding it hard to draw in breath, so he was glad there was nobody here to witness his over-reaction. That is, until a soft voice spoke from behind him. "I-I... a-are you okay?" She asked, then immediately seemed to regret it and stammer out an apology.

"I... I think so?" He said, which seemed weird. Why shouldn't he be okay? He hadn't been stabbed, nor for that matter had he been disintegrated. by all means, he should be fine. But he wasn't. On top of dealing with that guy's attack on the unsuspecting girl, he now had to worry if that other Thomas - the bad Thomas was going to make an appearance. If so, it wasn't safe for this girl to be so near. "It's hard to believe that really happened." He said, looking down at the blood drying on his hands. "I feel like I'm going to wake up at any moment, that this will all turn out to be some awful dream." He sighed, mentally confirming the fact that he was awake, and this was not some twisted creation of his mind.

Suddenly, despite knowing the danger that it posed, he wanted to lose himself in the white-haired girl. She was a welcome distraction that he desperately needed. He looked at her, deciding on a whim that he needed a change of topic. "What's your name?" He asked, trying to sound offhand and not as though he'd just been brought back from the brink of a panic attack and possible identity crisis. He wanted to get her talking so that he wouldn't have to.

"I think it's normal to feel that way after something awful happens." She was still trying to make sense of it herself and she had arrived at the end of it. Briar ran her fingers through her Arcanine's fur in a slow but steady motion. She repeated it several times. The small action was something she was using to keep herself from panicking. Now was not the time to let her anxiety get the better of her. Fairs were supposed to be happy places. This was a terrible, one off occurrence. And yet all Briar wanted was to leave. If Bidi hadn't put so much effort into collecting tickets for her she would have been heading straight back to the boats. "My name?" The question had caught her off guard. When it fully registered in her head she blushed and stumbled over her response. "B-Briar! Briar Bellerose!" The girl tried to smile a bit and gestured towards her Absol and Arcanine. She sounded far more confident when it came to talking about her Pokemon. "The Absol is Bidi and the Arcanine is Slate. Oh! And this is-" Before she could introduce her Sobble properly she used her Water Gun on the male, trying to clean up some of the blood. "There! That looked really uncomfy!" Bidi sighed and lightly booped the excited Sobble's head with one of his paws. "Uncomfortable. Don't attack people like that." He corrected. "Uncomfy. Hey! You should come play games with us!" Briar couldn't understand a word of what her Pokemon were saying to each other until Bidi signed both an apology and a request to move to the game area. Briar highly doubted he would want to play anything after what he had just gone through but maybe a change in location would do them some good. "I am really sorry. That's Rosalyn." The Sobble let out a cheerful cry at the sound of her name and smiled brightly. "They...um...W-would you like to follow us to the game area? I-it might be quieter there!" Game area. Quieter. Sure. Totally. Briar internally sighed. She was awful at being a person.

"Like a herd of sheep." She muttered to herself when she realized a crowd had gathered. Kiro croaked in agreement. They apparently had all the time in the world to make an unnecessary amount of noise and watch her work. Surely one of them could have gone to retrieve the fair's security. This kind of behavior was why she hated other people. Humans were useless. "Saiphe, security. Go." All of the commotion should have been enough to attract fair security- especially given the size of the crowd. Kiro had switched from best assistant to best guard. He wouldn't allow anyone that didn't look like that worked at the fair anywhere near the doctor or her patient. Elfana worked diligently. The wound was deep but the blonde had been fortunate enough that nothing vital had been hit. She had it cleaned and stitched shut in record time. So long as the girl took proper care of it she might be able to keep the scarring to a minimum. Elfana had just finished bandaging up the wound by the time Saiphe returned. Her Toxicroak had been called back to her and was in the process of writing out an explanation of the aftercare that would be required to make sure she healed properly. The doctor's name and phone number were written at the bottom of the paper in case the blonde had any questions. He handed it off to the nearest security guard with a low croak while Elfana removed her gloves and put her equipment away. She was covered in blood from moving the girl earlier but she didn't seem to care. "Your performance has been lacking thus far but I'm going to manage my expectations and trust that one of you can handle this from here." She didn't wait for a response. Elfana slipped through the crowd with Kiro and Saiphe in tow. Her good deed for the day had been done. The blonde was on her own now.

Church passed through the entrance to the fair and headed for an open spot near the docks. There he released Sheer and climbed onto her back. As dumb as it was, he knew which pokemon would be a good fit and where to find it, he simply wasn't a fan of it or the idea of owning one. Gastrodon. The stupid slug. However, as stupid as it was, it was both water and ground type. With a bit of training it could come in very handy against rock pokemon. So, dreading it all the same, Church gave the signal and Sheer took off into the sky heading for Circhester.

In a flutter of wings Sheer landed at the entrance to the fair, causing those around her to scatter and glare at Church as he hopped off. He returned Sheer to her pokeball without acknowledging the angry people and strolled back through the grand gates into the park. He had a plan this time around and immediately headed for the Pokepark with a smirk. It was time for a little pokemon Bootcamp to get his team closer to their goal, and there was no better drill sergeant than Lilith herself.

Thomas was trying to come to terms with what had happened only moments ago when he was brought from his thoughts by a Water Gun attack. He spluttered, trying to get water from his eyes and face. He stood there in front of the pretty girl dripping water from his clothes and hair like he'd just jumped in a lake. Thomas didn't realize that Briar couldn't understand her Pokemon - he could understand them all perfectly thanks to Lady's psychic powers.

The man looked down at his hands, noticing that they were cleaner. He could only hope that his face was similarly improved. He slicked his hair back, removed his shirt, wrung it out, and gave her an awkward yet charming smile. She would be able to see that he was physically fit. He was, in fact, an athlete. But he wasn't showing off. He was just going through the motions without actually giving anything he was doing a moment of thought.

That's when she asked if he wanted to go play games. Her reasoning didn't make sense. It was bound to be much louder than where they were. "Oh? Yeah, that sounds good." He said, glad that she'd made the offer. Because a lot of noise and distraction sounded perfect to him. He allowed her to lead the way, but decided to keep the conversation going while they walked. "Your Pokemon are wonderful, they have such personality." He reached a hand out to the Arcanine, letting the hound sniff him if it so chose.

Church exited through the gates leading to the docks and took in a breath of the fresh salty air. It was so much better than the popcorn-infused dank air in the fair. Mood brightened a little, he returned his pokemon to their respective pokeballs and released Sheer.
"Time to go back home." He murmured, more to himself than anything as he climbed onto Sheer's back. With a downward surge of her powerful wings Sheer took off into the sky without having to be told, angling off towards route 8 in Galar.

Buck trotted through the entrance at a casual pace with Roma perched on his back. They slowly made their way through the crowd and out onto the docks without too much trouble. This time, Roma checked to make sure she had her bag before carefully climbing into the boat that would take them back to their adventure. Buck and the rest of her pokemon hopped in after her before the boat pulled away from the dock and sailed through the waves. It had been a nice little break, but it was time to finally return to their adventures. After all, their journey was merely beginning, and with Emiri's meeting Roma was in a much better mood to boot.

After a trip around the world then a day at a fair, Elfana was almost looking forward to getting back to her new normal. She was certain she would be able to clear the next gym without any difficulty. They could probably take on the forth gym too. Her Pokemon had grown quite a bit since they first left Sinnoh and she was almost excited to see exactly what they would be capable of in a battle. That was something she would need to correct soon. The gym challenge was a chore. That's all. She reached a hand up to pet the Rufflet on her shoulder while the older Pokemon in her group discussed the events of the fair amongst themselves. "I think a shower is in order first." She muttered to herself. Elfana would take a day to rest after getting back to Sinnoh. Then it would be right back to work. Within the hour she was on a train and headed back to Veilstone.

Briar Bellerose

Her Sobble could not have looked more pleased with herself if she tried. Briar briefly questioned whether or not her Sobble was actually a Sobble. Weren't they supposed to be timid Pokemon? Rosalyn was anything but timid. When she looked back up at Thomas, she found herself turning a bright shade of red once more. She took to staring at the ground as if it had suddenly become the most interesting thing in the world. Staring at someone was incredibly rude no matter how cute they were! That awkward smile was far too adorable...'Manners, Briar! You know what they are!' She chided herself before a low growl from Slate brought her attention back to the current situation. The Arcanine had his ears pinned back and he was growling at Thomas's extended hand. "It's okay, Slate!" She grabbed Thomas's hand without thinking. Something in her had decided that the Arcanine wouldn't bite her hand just to get to his. The Fire Type glared and kept his ears back but the growling came to a stop. "Slate was put through a lot before I found him." At least she assumed he was. Between his Pokemon being thrown into the ocean and his behavior she highly doubted his previous trainer had treated him kindly. She tried to reach out to pet the Arcanine when she realized she was still holding Thomas's hand. "S-sorry!" Briar quickly dropped his hand and began to fidget a bit. In a weird way, she almost appreciated the distraction Slate had provided. She was able to get her thoughts somewhat straight. "Maybe we should go somewhere you can dry off instead?" Compared to her previous ideas, Briar sounded almost confident. Almost. Drying off before he caught a cold was important. With any luck it was also get them away from the fair. He needed to get away from there after everything that had happened.
