After a short break, he let both Sen and Kiryu out of their balls to hang out. The two got along well and were competitive as all heck, eventually devolving into a wrestling match that their trainer had to break up. Kenji couldn’t help but laugh at his two partners and wondered what his team would look like at journey's end. He smiled at the thought before pulling the two apart and bringing them back into their balls. He was eyeballing a hackey sack game similar to one that he used to play as a kid, he wanted to do well at this one because he used to play it with his family when they went on vacation. So he thought even if he had a bad game he would probably play again and wasn’t going to let a simple bad game bum him out. He needed to stockpile some tickets knowing that the biggest prize would be the free pokemon of his choice for 120 tickets that he was quickly approaching. The second round of the game didn’t go quite as well as the first with him snagging 6 tickets. He wasn’t sure what was going on with his luck but he thought maybe he would stick with it and keep going with the hackey sack game to see if he was just having an up and down luck day. Trying to centre himself he wanted to make sure that he didn’t give up too early or he would eventually run out of games as there was really only one or two more that he could try. Another decent round. He was trying to regain his focus and he did hit the smallest bag at least once. But at this point he was determined, he knew he could do better and the tickets were at the back of his mind. Whether someone was controlling his destiny or if he was just being controlled by some wild form of luck he wanted to make sure that he would stick to this before he nailed it. He tossed the bags again but was losing focus on this game. He scored ok, picking up 8 tickets, which in his head was slightly better than average but it was still nothing to be all that impressed about. He thought that it would be a better idea to take a break for the time being and rethink the strategy on getting these tickets. Perhaps going to a different game would actually make things easier for him. Putting his hands on his hips and letting out another very extra sigh he waved his hand no when the man got up to give him the bags. Roma stood back and let her little pokemon have a go at the cute game. After a moment the young man operating the game brought out a stool and offered it to her, noticing how much she leaned on her walking stick.
"Thank you my dear, you're one of the good ones." She gave him a sweet smile before sitting down on the stool with a sigh. It did her old bones some good to sit and relax a bit. She knew she would eventually get used to all the walking again, that or find a pokemon capable of helping her along, but for now she would persevere.
She chuckled as Spectra took a try at the hacky sacks, her little arms giving her some trouble at first. However she soon figured it out and jumped for joy as she got one of them in the five-point hole.
"Great job, sweetie!" ---------------------------------------------------------------

Roma got to her feet as Spectra urged her to go again, tugging on her kimono gently but urgently.
"You want me to show you how it's done? Alright." She shuffled foreward and picked up the sack, however as she threw it it slipped from her fingers and missed entirely. "Whoopsie. Let's try that again." The other two hit their mark, however, both scoring five points each. Spectra clapped her little hands excitedly and looked up at Roma with awe, making another chuckle bubble out of the old woman. "With enough practice you can do the same, don't worry!" Roma gave the little charmander an affectionate pat on the head before returning to sit back down on the stool and watch. Her little ones were so adorable! ---------------------------------------------------------------

As Spectra ran back over to the sacks and picked them up, Roma raised her hand.
"Honey, why don't you see if Missy would like to have a go? It's good to share." At her words the Shinx raised her head from where she lay curled at Roma's feet, looking at the game uncertainly. Spectra looked down at the sacks in her hands for a moment before rushing over to Missy and holding them out with a smile. Missy sniffed the sacks before slowly taking one in her fangs and wobbling over to the line in the dirt. It took her a moment to figure out how to throw it, but soon she got it. The first sack missed, but the second and third sacks she tossed found a hole. As she scored the little Shinx seemed to do a little happy dance before trotting back to Roma with her head held high.

Roma watched fondly as Spectra collected the sacks and tottered up to Sunshine before holding them out to her. It was such a sweet gesture that warmed her heart, and although Sunshine seemed uncertain, she seemed to appreciate the thought. Sunshine gripped the sacks in her feet and did a little flip to toss them. In all she only managed to get one sack in a hole, but she seemed to be having fun and that was all that mattered to Roma. She had taken a look at the prizes available and a few of them would have made her younger self squeal with excitement. She was most interested in two, however they cost a hundred tickets each. She wasn't sure if they would play for that long, but Roma enjoyed having a goal. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Spectra patiently collected the sacks after Sunshine's turn and happily skipped over to the line.
"Char! Charmander!" Spectra pointed at the game board intently as if pumping herself up before swinging her little arm and tossing a sack. The sack was quickly followed by two more, scoring her thirteen points all-together. Roma smiled and stifled a chuckle at the pokemon's antics. Of her pokemon, Spectra was undeniably the most out-going of the group. Nothing seemed to damper the little Charmander's spirit. It was a beautiful thing to see. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Missy gave a long stretch before getting to her paws and taking a turn at the game once more. It seemed to Roma that the Shinx really had no interest in the game besides helping them win some tickets. As soon as she had gone and gotten her points, Missy wandered back to Roma and hopped up into her lap. She curled up into a little ball and vibrated with purrs as Roma stroked her soft fur. To be honest, Roma hadn't felt this at ease in years. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Roma relaxed and closed her eyes, listening to the cheerful sounds and music around her. It was turning out to be such a grand day, and it had only just started! She scratched Missy on the head affectionately before turning her attention back to Spectra who was offering the sacks to Sunshine. The Togekiss looked between the sacks and Spectra for a few moments before reluctantly complying. Once more she picked up the sacks one by one in her feet before flipping and sending them flying at the board. Spectra cheered her on happily, not seeming to realize she was really the only pokemon interested in the game. This received another chuckle from Roma. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Roma smiled as Spectra got to go again at last. She was so proud of the little charmander sharing the turns even though she seemed to enjoy the game so much. Perhaps once they hit their first goal of one hundred tickets it would be time to get some delicious fair food. Sadly Roma was a little too old for the crazy rides here, but she could at least get them something yummy to eat. Who knew? Maybe they would get lucky and find a ride Roma could go on too, or ones for just pokemon. The options were endless. ---------------------------------------------------------------

As Spectra ended her turn she collected the sacks once again and tottered over to Roma and Missy.
"That's alright dear, I think the other two are all tuckered out. Go ahead." Spectra brightened as she realized she got to go again and quickly did so. Missy gave a little grumble of thanks to Roma and curled up tighter on her lap, obviously enjoying the sun and fun atmosphere far more than the games. Even Sunshine seemed to be dozing off from where she perched near Roma's feet. Perhaps after the fair they could all use a good nap. ---------------------------------------------------------------

 Roma lifted up Missy and slowly got to her feet as Spectra won twelve more tickets. She held Missy like a baby and smiled as the Shinx stretched out for a moment before cuddling closer to her chest, apparently loving to be held. She didn't know what kind of background the little pokemon had come from, but she hadn't met such a cuddly pokemon in many years.
"Alright youngin's, how about we go find something tasty to eat?" At once, Spectra cried out in agreement and put the sacks back before hurrying over with a grin. She had smelled the food when they first came in and was dying to try some! Roma chuckled at her enthusiasm and returned the stool to the young man before slowly making her way towards the prize stall. She handed over a hundred tickets for a travel egg before placing it in her purse with a smile. One down, one more to go. With that, she turned and headed for the food area. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Roma returned to the game area led by a very excited Spectra. This time they found themselves at the bowling game. Roma had looked it over and decided it would be a good game that they could all play. It seemed much easier for Missy and Sunshine than the sacks were. She promised Spectra they would go back to the hacky sacks later, but for now this one would have to do.
Roma picked up one of the lighter balls and swung it foreword, letting go a little too late and watching as the ball moved off to the right and took out only four pins. Granted, she was just proud to be able to do it at all! ---------------------------------------------------------------

The next one to try bowling was Missy, who headbutted the ball to send it on it's way down the lane. The ball curved a little and ended up only taking out one pin, but Missy seemed pleased with herself regardless. The Shinx meowed and wound about Roma's legs happily, purring as she got some head pats for a job well done.

After Missy's turn came Sunshine, who perched by the ball and gave it a little shove with her wing. The Togekiss let out a little trill as the ball rolled down the lane and knocked over four pins. They weren't going to win any championships, but the scene made Roma grin with joy. At least her pokemon were having fun, that was what mattered in the end. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Finally it was Spectra's turn to go, however the Charmander seemed distracted. She was looking over at the hacky sack toss wistfully, and it took a gentle prod from Roma for her to realize it was her turn. Spectra pushed the ball down the lane and knocked over one pin, her tail drooping as she missed the rest.
"Alright, how about we try another game? Would you like to return to the hacky sacks?" Spectra noticeably brightened as she mentioned the game which seemed to have become her favorite. Even the other two pokemon nodded after sharing a look with each other, so it was decided. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Satisfied, Roma borrowed the stool again from the young man and sat down to watch her pokemon play. This time both Sunshine and Missy seemed to be more into the game. Spectra quickly ran up to grab the sacks next, piling them in her little arms before tottering back to the line. She gave each one a toss and seemed intent on scoring the same as Roma had, and although only one hit the five-point hole, all of the sacks at least went into a hole. Despite his earlier thought he took a set of three more bags from the vendor and tried his hand at the game again and scored a decent score. His determination would win the day for him. He wanted those 120 tickets to get that pokemon, a strong new addition to the party that would help him in whatever efforts he would need them to in the future. He couldn’t give up now, what would that mean for his journey going forward. One more round of the hackey sacks proved to be fruitful as well. He was more than on a roll towards that pokemon he was going to get. He wondered which pokemon they had available, and what he would be able to get as a prize. He focused on the game, hitting another bullseye and some other ones that were close. The sacks were falling like rain, into the holes that they were destined to go into. The points racked up quickly and he was clearly on a roll, he thought about what sort of pokemon he would want, he liked the idea of having his party feel like a team and wanted to fill out the team as he would. Maybe he would get some type of uniform for them all. He was so close as he cringed about coming so close to getting the 120 tickets that he needed.
