Favorite Types: Fire, Psychic, Fairy
Least Favorite Types: Dark, Ghost, Bugs
Personality:
On the quiet side, unless you get her really, really heated, but good luck trying to, given her usual conflict response is to overthink rather than actually do or say something. She is, however, easily annoyed when people mix facts with fiction, and if nothing else, that sure can do the trick. A bit anxious, and, as stated before, has a tendency to overthink, which leads her to being indecisive at times. Surprisingly prideful.
History:
You know how the story goes, don’t you? A child, age ten, wakes up on a sunny day to choose their very first official Pokemon and begin their very own wonderful adventure…
Well! That’s not what happened!
Ten years old Nova only scoffed and frowned at all these rambunctious children who couldn’t stay quiet for a moment, going on and on and on about all the Pokemon, and all the adventures they were going to see and go through. Pokemon weren’t that cool, and neither was traveling. Have you ever watched a video of sodium being thrown into the water? Now, that was awesome!
Twenty years old Nova cringes at the memory, and quietly wishes nobody remembered the holier-than-thou kid that she was.
You might be wondering: what could’ve possibly happened for her to change her attitude so much? Growing up. Lonely.
It really took Nova maybe a year or two to realize she was not very… popular among her peers - not that many of them remained in town, busy traveling and catching Pokemon - and a little bit longer to realize her attitude was a bit of a problem there. But you can’t just.. change like that! It’s too embarrassing! It’s admitting to being wrong, and it’s the worst kind of feeling - she’d tell you that if she had the ability to be honest about her feelings. But alas.
In the end, Nova remained quite lonely, and even moving to the nearby Sunyshore City to continue her studies didn’t help, as her inability to make friends didn’t magically disappear. And it bothered her for months and months until she finally gave in.
It was a day like any other, sunny with gentle wind preventing it from becoming unbearably hot, when going back from the campus with iced strawberry latte Nova overheard a group of children reminiscing about their travels and how they all got to know each other through Pokemon, and a pang of guilt and jealousy made itself known within her. She really could’ve just… started traveling like everybody else, but no, she had to be different! And now she was reaping what she’d sowed. It wasn’t until several hours later in her rented flat when she realized that, actually, she could still… do this?
Without thinking too much so she could avoid changing her mind, Nova applied for a starter Pokemon and a PokeDex, hoping for the best.
