Likes
- Performing, playing her violin, dancing
- Practicing her violin, working on new compositions and routines
- Calm, quiet, and/or serenity
- Independence, not having to rely on others
- Experimenting and learning new things
Dislikes
- Water, heights, flying
- Being talked down to, being one upped
- Being made to feel inferior
- Not being in control, extreme chaos
- Being directionless, having her plans disrupted
- People who treat their Pokemon like common animals
Fears
- Complete darkness and what she can't see in darkness
- Complete silence. Rhienne has never known silence in her life, stemming from her early months in her mother's womb, she was constantly being introduced to stimuli from the many psychic types that roamed around the house, and since then Rhienne has never been without some sort of sound or voice coming to her mind. She finds silence hard to focus in, she only ever really prefers quiet, knowing that if she cannot hear any or even one of the Pokemon she knows to be linked to her mind, something is wrong
- Losing communication with any of her psychic types or those who are mentally connected to her
- Being helpless in an otherwise life threatening situation, or not being able to help herself. Despite her close relationships with just a handful of people and how she cares for them and knows that care is reciprocated, Rhienne doesn't want to have to rely on someone to come and save her if her life is being threatened in the off chance that they aren't able to help her. Just the slight probability of that happening is cause enough for her to worry when she can't take care of herself
- Vengeful or angry spirits or ghosts. Rhienne has had many a brush in with angry spirits and ghosts with her mother's study of the other worldly, and when they've been harboring that anger and hostility for so long with no way to be helped, it consumes them to where they become the very embodiment of their anger, and she's yet to be able to handle that as well as her mother can
- Not being in control of her own mind, being invaded without her consent
- That there might be more about her locked memories and past that she doesn't know about
- Hurting someone because of her power
- The possibility of her going dark with power
Goals/Dreams
- Become a world renowned performer
- Become as mentally strong and capable as her mother
- Learn all that she can about her locked past and the heritage that her mother denied her for so long
- Set her own path and make her own choices with her power she's been given
- Make sure that she herself doesn't go dark with power
Skills
- While not on a professional level by any means, Rhienne is a very capable violin player and composer and likes to practice whenever she can to better herself in the art
- Having met Aviabra at a young age living in Ecruteak, Rhienne is a self trained acrobat and gymnast of sorts and is moderately skilled at things like tight rope walking, flips and handstands, and other acts of that nature
- Rhienne considers herself okay at dancing if only for the purpose of giving an audience more than just standing there and playing the violin
- Like her mother, Rhienne likes to sew and design and makes a fair majority of her own clothing
- Rhienne is a quick thinker and works well under most high pressure situations, and is fair at thinking outside the box
- Having grown up around dark, ghost, and psychic type Pokemon her whole life, Rhienne is very capable in certain aspects of their natures like telling an illusion from reality, feeling the presence of a ghost or otherworldly being, and things of the like
- Though not near the caliber her mother is capable of, without actually being a psychic, Rhienne is very strong mentally being able to keep her mind closed off from most outside forces like psychic type Pokemon that would otherwise be trying to intrude. She only opens herself mentally to the Pokemon she trusts to be with her on such an intimate level, though has help from Absolem to keep out stronger forces than she could do herself
- Only recently did Rhienne learn of her true heritage and what she is in the world. In hindsight her mother's family, though not the only family, is a family of sorcerers and sorceresses which is why Rhienne was able to find the Book of Shadows in the Ruins of Alph, one of the only remaining remnants of their heritage, but the knowledge and capabilities of the book were lost on Rhienne because of the locked part of her past. Now though, with the ring that her mother has given her, Rhienne's true power has come to light. With the ring, and only with the ring, Rhienne is capable of channeling the electrical energy of her nervous system into the physical world. With this capability, Rhienne can now use it to conduct the spells and potions that can be found within her book, but also use the channeled energy in the physical world. She can physically manifest the electrical energy of her nervous system into a force field or propel it forward to knock something back. This energy allows her to manipulate the kinetic motion of an object in order to move it to her will, and she can physically control and manipulate the electrical energy of her nervous system into a flow of electricity. All of this however is highly taxing on her physical body since it is all a manifestation of her own internal energy, and can easily kill her if she over exerts herself without proper and constant training and conditioning. She is only capable of any of this with the ring on her finger, without it, she cannot bring the energy of her nervous system into the physical world.
Weaknesses
- A superiority complex that can easily influence her decision making
- The knowledge of what her future could have been
- A natural curiosity for things of a darker nature that could influence her good force
- The control that she tries to keep on her own future and destiny in the world
- Knowing that her power is dangerous and potentially deadly to not just herself
- A constant struggle within herself between good and bad
- Knowing when someone or something is superior to her
Appearance
Rhienne stands at an average height of five feet and five inches, having never been exceptionally short or exceptionally tall for her age, or really exceptionally nothing for the most part. The most of Rhienne's physical activity errs on the side of rare since the most she really does is dancing to a degree and some untrained acrobatics, so she doesn't exactly have much defined in her pale, slender and thin physique. She is still growing, being only sixteen years old, so her body continues to grow in height and become more defined at her hips and waist, but her legs take up the most of her body structure since she has a small torso.
Rhienne has straight coal black hair that comes down to her belt line, with long bangs that she normally keeps parted to the side to frame her face. Her facial features are rather sharp and small with the angle of her nose and chin, and the way her wide set upturned purple eyes sit above her defined cheeks and thin mouth. A set of glasses complete the frame of her face, simple black thin framed glasses with no bottom frame, which she wears constantly because of her inability to see without them.
Looking at Rhienne, she doesn't quite come across as the most approachable person with her sharp features, and while her posture is upright and displays confidence, she still closes herself off from those around her so as to not welcome unwanted company. Likewise, despite her eccentric clothing in dark colors and whimsical styles like corsets or waist coats, tights, skirts, heels and otherwise, most do well to avoid Rhienne because of the extra appendages that she has. From underneath the brim of the top hat that she usually wears, a set of soft purple Espeon ears hold their place, as well as a long thin purple tail to match that comes from beneath her skirts. While at a glance, these appendages look as though she's only fashioned them for a costume, it isn't until they move and twitch that people understand that they are real, a self inflicted mistake upon prematurely trying to conduct magic. She doesn't like to talk about them, and does well to hide them at times as she tries to find away to reverse what she'd done.
Personality
On any given day, Rhienne is not exactly the most personable passerby you would see walking down the street. She's never been particularly fond of people if only for the fact that she doesn't deal with ignorance well, which is what she's faced for the most of her life due to her mother's reputation and studies. She's been brandished a 'freak' and other slandered names in the past, though it does little to really hurt her any. Rhienne is a very confident individual and is not afraid of who she is despite those around her who might be, and thoroughly embraces what it is that her mother does and her family is known for. She's found solace in the psychic types and ghostly spirits that wander her house rather than those humans wandering around aimlessly outside because of their knowledge and experiences that they share with her, and typically prefers their company instead of the people she'd see on a day to day basis. Despite this though, Rhienne is not anti social, or a shut in as she's been referred to before. It is difficult for her, yes, to find someone whom she might enjoy a conversation with, but in the instances that it does happen, she can be quite social. Her quick wit and snarky attitude might say otherwise, but the more she gets to know someone, the more her attitude adjusts to how they interact with her.
When in close company, Rhienne is patient and tolerant, though that can only stretch so far, and she is very loyal and trusting to those that she gets close enough to. She will easily defend one of her friends should they be in need of it, and will not think twice about offering her help if she can provide it. Rhienne has a bit of a jealous side though, and can get mildly possessive of those she considers her close friends, and her superiority complex has thus far gone unmatched. She can be closed minded and a bit hard headed, and would almost always prefer to do something on her own rather than request the help of others, but all in all Rhienne is a good friend to have and a tough adversary when crossed, and over all just tries to do her best to make something of herself in the world.
History
Rhienne's early life was fairly normal, or rather as normal as it could ever be with her mother's studies and her father's work, but that did little to ever hinder her as she had started to grow up. Her dad and his brother, after having gone through an internship together under Professor Elm in studying Pokemon breeding and eggs settled in the Johto Region to begin their real work in research and breeding studies. Rhienne's dad had managed to find a home closer to Professor Elm's Laboratory in Newbark Town, but her uncle had to move further out in the Johto Region in Violet City. Just a few years later, as they both grew in their research and began studying more independently because of their distance, Rhienne's father had married a self proclaimed researcher who studied the relationship between ghost, dark, and psychic type Pokemon and their relationship to their environment and other Pokemon around them, likewise her uncle too was preparing to marry. A few more years later after the two couples were settled, Rhienne was born in Newbark Town, and her cousin Emiri was born just one year later in Violet City.
With the birth of their two new daughters, Rhienne's father and her uncle became close again as they wanted to spend more time together with their growing families, and so Rhienne and her cousin Emiri started spending a great amount of time together, and were practically being raised together. Rhienne would spend a few days at a time with her aunt and uncle in Violet and Emiri would spend a few days with Rhienne and her family in New Bark, and over their development years, they had grown close. Emiri's father was delving more into his work again now that Emiri had grown a bit and his wife no longer needed as much assistance with having a baby, but there was sometimes very little for her to do with both Emiri and Rhienne, and so she started to take the two young girls to the local Pokemon gym as a pass time for a day or two out of the week. Rhienne never cared too much about going to the local Pokemon gym, the construct of battling was always kind of boring, but when in the instance someone came to challenge with the Pokemon that were familiar to her, the ones that roamed around her house, she found quick solace in watching how their supernatural abilities worked against the natural power of a flying type Pokemon. Despite this though, Rhienne always much rathered having Emiri come to her house in New Bark when they were to spend time together, for it was always easier for her to be in charge because she was the oldest, and she knew how to deal with the Pokemon around her house, but their time together was cut short.
At about the age of seven, Emiri's father had grown interested in Professor Oak's work, and when his wife had mentioned that she would like to go back to the Kanto Region in order to pick up her own studies again, he then decided to move himself and his family to Pallet Town in Kanto, leaving his brother and Rhienne in the Johto Region. It never bothered Rhienne too much to see Emiri leave, having started her first years at primary school where she had already started to see less and less of her cousin, but she too soon had a change of scenery when her mother requested that they move back to Ecruteak City where she was from in order for Rhienne to grow into her family heritage. Rhienne didn't understand what this meant too much while her father contemplated the move, but having become more independent in his studies from Professor Elm, and taking on a research project at the famed Bell Tower, he agreed to the move.
Getting settled and making sure Rhienne was situated in her new primary school, her life in Ecruteak was everything she could have ever asked for. She didn't make friends too well at school, but Ecruteak over all was just the environment she knew she needed in her life. It was calm and quiet, secluded deep in the forests of central Johto, and with a bigger house than they had had in New Bark Town, she had plenty of Pokemon that wandered and came and went that she grew accustom to with her mother's studies. Rhienne's life now was blossoming, and she was pretty happy with it. She was getting better at sewing like her mother could, and was starting to show promise in playing the violin like she had wanted to try after watching someone at school who brought theirs. She had grown rather attached to a young Meditite who lived in the area whom Rhienne played with and practiced small acrobatics with, and with all this she was slowly growing more and more into who she would be today. Closer to the age of nine though, over a summer vacation from school, Rhienne's mother wanted to begin training her in what her family really did, sorcery.
Stemming back for generations, her mother's family was a part of a group who found the middle ground between science and magic, where magic was just science that hadn't come to be understood yet. They were very interested in the ways that dark, ghost, and psychic type Pokemon interacted with the world around them, and were studying these Pokemon, Mismagius specifically, and wanted to figure out these powers and abilities for themselves for human application. They worked tirelessly along side these Pokemon which became a study passed down for generations, until they unlocked the secrets of 'magic', though were less than inclined to ever call it magic. They were in no way mystically imbued with any such supernatural abilities, but instead learned how to manipulate and channel the electrical energy of their nervous systems into the physical world which was the basis of all their learning. That energy which was one of the purest forms of energy and untapped potential was what allowed them to begin their art of scientific exploration, and so that knowledge was passed down from generation to generation and it was intended for Rhienne to learn of this inherited knowledge as well.
Rhienne did well in her early learning, having been given a ring that would allow her to channel the electrical energy of her nervous system into the physical world to begin her practice. Without the ring, she wouldn't be capable of any such 'magic', and was told to keep the ring as though it were a part of her own being. She learned how to read the language that their books were written in, a language long lost to society unless it was an inherited aspect, and with her cousin on her mother's side, Carlysle and his mother, Rhienne was growing more and more adept with this new found power. But the longer Rhienne trained and the more in tune she got with it all, many of her mother's psychic types saw a dark future for her, one riddled with consumption and corruption. It was to her mother's dismay, but until she knew that Rhienne would be able to control her own good force, she had her psychic types lock the recent parts of Rhienne's memory about the ring and her inherited knowledge so she would have no recollection of it.
For the next few years afterwards, Rhienne continued on as though she wasn't missing a crucial part of her life, moving from primary school on to secondary school and improving her skills in violin playing and otherwise. She began to indulge in the idea of moving on for a Pokemon journey of her own, though proclaiming her Pokemon for brute strength in the gym league wasn't precisely what she wanted to do. She liked the idea of contests and becoming a coordinator, but didn't fancy all of the rules and guidelines that came with the contest structure. She wanted something free lance, something she could control and do on her own, but it wasn't until a traveling circus came through Ecruteak City that she finally realized what she could do with her skills and desires. She would become a performer, one for stage performances where she could use her violin and any Pokemon she might encounter, and after finishing secondary school and after a few months preparation for herself, Rhienne left off to New Bark Town again to visit the Professor Elm to request a Pokemon of her own.
{Rhienne's journey progress (Click)}A few months after turning fourteen, Rhienne had set off to Newbark Town in order to request her starter Pokemon from Professor Elm. Despite not wanting one of the traditional starters, it was the only way that she could be officially registered to travel, and so she reluctantly chose a Cyndaquil that she had to make a deal with in order for her to cooperate to coming with Rhienne. She met Mika early on in her travels, among the first few days of traveling through south eastern Johto where they spent a few months traveling and training and preparing for their first few gym badges. They received an invitation of sorts from a 'shadow master' that had requested their presence, but it turned out that it was an invitation to Darkrai's realm where they were trapped in a swampy jungle. They never found the source of the power, and never got past the swampy jungle's environment before they were released from the realm, and begrungingly set off to continue their travels.
They found themselves in the Ruins of Alph one day and were poking around in the inner corridors when Rhienne discovered a series of puzzles that weren't in the Unown language but in a language that she could understand and read. These puzzles though lead to a series of traps that could have easily claimed their lives, but they managed through to an open room burried deep within the confines of the ruins where a book remained, untouched for what could have been centuries. Unbenownst to Mika, Rhienne regrettably risked their lives in taking the book that she believed she was meant to find when a final trap was set off and they were nearly crushed to death by a boulder. It's been one of her greatest regrets since having left for her journey, but she couldn't help but feel like the book was meant for her, and has kept it since.
Afterwards, after some recovery, Rhienne and Mika spent some time in central Johto working on more badges. Rhienne had managed through Morty's Gym in Ecruteak City by the time they had caught wind of what was happening to the PC systems where Rhienne and Mika made their way to Cerulean City in order to offer their help. A police officer called all the trainers to the front of the Cerulean Police Station where Bill was waiting for them for a sort of briefing on the situation. There Bill explained that during a hacking that was trying to take over the PC system, and while Bill was trying to combat it, there was yet another source that was trying to infiltrate the system, and all of those sources combined created a glitch in the system that was manifested out of the PC system, something that the officers had taken to calling Missingno, the missing number error. It wasn't a Pokemon, as far as Bill could explain, but it had a form of intelligence and was learning, and after having been captured and transferred through the Rocket PC system, it escaped and began making copies of itself that were appearing in different places in Kanto and Johto.
The plan was, for all the gathered trainers, to track down these Missingno and capture them in special police force Pokeballs called Lockdown Balls in order to subdue the glitch as they tried to determine where the real one was. Bill gave each of the trainers a specially programmed Porygon of his own design that was updated with all of the latest data on Missingno that would be able to combat it if necessary, would allow communication with Bill via their Pokedexes, and could access the trainer's PC systems if necessary since they were capable of traveling through cyber space. The first confirmed location of one of the Missingno copies was in the Power Plant just east of Cerulean City, and with Blue in tow who was called to help, or in his eyes was there to 'make sure the trainers didn't screw up too badly', the trainers were sent to the Power Plant in order to begin their mission.
The trainers all started to make their way east to the Power Plant any way they could, where Rhienne regrettably had to fly with Emiri on her flying types, and soon enough the trainers had all gathered at the plant to start their assignment. They weren't quite sure where in the plant this glitch was supposed to be, but as far as they knew, they were supposed to search high and low for it and find any sign that they could in order to discern it's location. Blue started the search as he moved into the plant, and the trainers followed as Rhienne split up from Mika and Emiri, and started to move through the labyrinthine maze of computers and machines. Someone had quite obviously been at the plant prior to their visit since a lot of the machines were somehow active and working despite being covered in a thick layer of dust, which set the group off to know that they needed to be careful while moving through the computers.
The trainers spent the next hour or so looking through the upper level of the plant, going through old rooms with more machines, what could have been the boss' room up a flight of stairs, moving through all of the rows and rows of computers until the computers started to crash one by one by a virus that had been sent through them. Nothing could be retrieved from them until a single piece of paper was printed out from a computer with a small memo, something about meetings and how a Murkrow guards a key with a password, but the trainers soon regrouped at the head of the plant where a large set of doors remained locked, and judging by the blueprints Blue had on his pokegear, that was precisely where they needed to go.
By the time they had all gathered in one place, they were ambushed by a fleet of grunts who were still left in the Power Plant, unbeknownst to them to be part of the long line of distractions that was set up for them for the Rockets to make a clean get away. Fending off the grunts though seemed to be easy enough, but the guard wasn't over as the Murkrow they'd been looking for approached, and they'd almost had it when Mika give the bird the necessary password, but it's suspicions were set off as it sounded out a loud alarm, and two Houndoom came to attack them with the Murkrow in tow. The trainers had finally managed to rid themselves of the Houndoom and the Murkrow who relinquished the key to them in a sort of peace offering in exchange for not getting attacked again, fluttering off back into the rafters leaving the trainers to their own devices then.
Rhienne moved with the trainers as they opened the door with the key, heading down a lit stairwell that went well below ground level as the hum of all of the machinery upstairs could no longer be heard. Beneath the metal floors of the plant now, the trainers came up on a horrendous scene, the walls of a hallway lined from floor to ceiling with cages lined with rubber and other obstructions to keep electric types at bay. Rhienne was disgusted at seeing the cages, knowing that these poor Pokemon had been neglected so, but didn't want to think if they were empty because the Pokemon had escaped, or if Team Rocket had taken what they could with them. The whole situation only made Rhienne more upset by the second as there were still Pokemon in some of the cages who surely would have died being in an abandoned power plant so far underground. No one would have found them, would have even known they were there, so Rhienne and the trainers set to work releasing what was left into the open so they could be free.
After making sure the remaining Pokemon had been set free, and capturing a Shinx in the process who was too scarred from Team Rocket to leave his cage, Rhienne followed with the rest of the trainers to the end of the hallway where a single door stood in their way, and after pushing through it, they were greeted by four Team Rocket Admins, Petrel, Ariana, Proton, and Archer. Despite them knowing that the rest of their team was long gone with all the information and equipment they needed, they were still aiming and ready to take on the trainers to get rid of them all for good so they wouldn't continue to meddle in Rocket affairs, but Rhienne and the other trainers weren't ready to back down, not now, so a grueling battle ensued that was far more difficult than any of them could have bargained for since there was a security system installed in the enormous room with trap tiles that were trapping their Pokemon while the admins were attacking with theirs.
The battle took a toll on all of them and their Pokemon, having to fight four fully trained Rocket Admins while trying to dodge the traps, but with all of their Pokemon combined and help from Blue and his Umbreon, and even Red who had showed up with his Pikachu to help, the admins were finally defeated, though they were quickly reminded that their mission there was still not over. They had come for the glitch, one of the ones that Bill said would be in the plant, and with a key that Petrel offered them since his job was done and their team was long gone with everything they needed, in hopes of having the glitch take a few of their lives in the process, Petrel was gone and the trainers were left with the decision to press forward.
Taking just a moment to themselves to regroup after such a tough battle, making sure their Pokemon were alright and some reveling in the small victory they took, Bill came over their Pokegears to give them the latest update. Red had been traveling through Johto gathering all the data that he could on the Missingno for Bill as well as discerning the locations of the last few that there were, and thanks to this Bill was able to update their Porygon so that, with luck, there wouldn't be any fatalities in fighting the glitch. They could create a physical firewall as Bill put it to keep the Missingno from attacking anyone directly, but it was only a theoretical application since the Porygon had yet to actually combat against the glitch.
Entering through the door, the trainers were faced with what could only be described as a living personification of a glitch. It was pixelated and shifted in the space it occupied as though they were looking at a giant screen. Numbers and other figures flashed across it's surface every now and again as it actually turned to face them, as if this thing could actually tell that they were there, and in reality, it could. The space around it was distorted as it moved, getting too close to some of the remaining computers within the room as they instantly crashed at just the close proximity to the anomaly, and as it flickered and moved through the space around it, it stopped before the trainers, like it was calculating its first move.
It gave out a distorted sound that was something between a screech and a scream as the sound it gave off was actually a physical force. It was a wave that came from the glitch as it moved towards the trainers, and though the Porygon had taken up the shields that Bill programmed them for and the trainers were safe, their Pokemon were less so as Rhienne looked to Valor as his figure slumped over and a sickly purple ooze moved over his scales. He had been poisoned despite the Missingno having done nothing to inflict it, and all of their Pokemon had suffered some kind of effect from the screech, the effects just happening out of no where. That certainly set the tone for the battle, knowing now that this glitch was capable of so much more than any of them could have fathomed, and for a time, they weren't sure if they were ready for such a battle against something that shouldn't have existed at all.
The glitch continued to attack as the Porygon kept up their protective fire walls, but the walls still did little to protect their Pokemon from getting attacked by the Missingno, however, after a few rounds of their Pokemon trying to weaken it, it gave out another screech as it's surface shuttered, the pixels and data freezing as though it were on a fozen computer screen. It threw up a protective wall around itself, but part of it shattered from the glitch's weakened state, and Mika was able to throw his lockdown ball at it. Thanks to the modifications that Bill had made to the lockdown balls, the glitch was forced inside and it was captured as the ball locked tight, and much to their surprise, the battle was over. They had captured one glitch, but there were still more to detain as Bill's voice came over all of their devices again. They were to bring the lockdown ball with the Missingno in it back to Bill in Cerulean City for further examination, and there was a glitch located in Celedon City in the Game Corner, and another in the Goldenrod City Department Store.
Rhienne and Mika left off with Emiri who had stayed in Celedon City as they made their way to Goldenrod, only to find the entire city almost evacuated. Despite their mission, Mika made a dash for his home there to see what might have come of it, only to find it empty and rather dishevled with broken glass from the television and other electrical devices. Rhienne tried to console with Mika, but knew the best way for them to fix his home was to find the glitches and capture them, so they set off to the Department Store to continue their mission.
After being attacked by a cynical Gothitelle, Mika and Rhienne grouped with the rest of the trainers who had split to come to Johto, and made their way into the Department Store where Bill indicated that the glitch was located on the floor with the electronics section. Making their way up the stairs after coming into contact with a group of Rocket grunts who were trying to belay their mission, the group found the Missingno milling about through the various television screens that lined the wall, and fought to subdue it like the first one they encountered. It's attacks were more powerful then, knocking out one of Mika's Pokemon in one strike, but just when they'd dared to think that they might have had an easier time taking care of this one, it emitted a strange force from the Lockdown Ball just before it sealed that somehow managed to sap Cheshire of all his energy, taking him from a Haunter to a Gastly.
Vengence on her mind now, Rhienne and Mika made their way to Mahogany town where Bill had discerned the location of the last Missingno. Regrouping with the rest of the trainers, and her cousin, they were approached by Morty who had been at the Pokemon center, and when he thought that they were all present, he told them where Bill was getting the signal from as they moved to the north of the town, coming to an old abandoned convenience store. When Morty came to the door and started trying to work the door open, there were muffled curses and rushed footsteps on the other side, but when they entered, there was no one inside, just a very thick layer of dust covering the empty shelves and cobwebs everywhere. Until they looked down, it looked as though no one had been on the inside in years, but within the dust there were fresh footprints that wove through the shelves until they came to a back room. Opening the door though, they were still surprised to see that the room was filled with nothing but old refrigerator units. After a bit of examination though by Morty's Haunter, the two found that the largest fridge had a false bottom in it, and after finding the switch, a latch opened, leading them downwards with a ladder that was just below it.
Moving down the ladder, where they descended to none of them could have guessed. Beneath them seemed to be an entire structure that had gone undetected for who knows how long, but it was sure to have been full of activity and maintained constantly despite it's remote location. Polished white marble floors and shining white concrete walls greeted them as they gathered at the bottom of the ladder, an enormous hallway opening up in front of them. Lining the walls from floor to ceiling were very ornately carved and detailed Gyarados statues made out of a lighter stone, with red rubies embedded for their eyes. It looked as though they'd stepped into a museum, not like they had just found a secret hatch under a refrigerator in an abandoned convenience store, but their focus was quickly altered as one of them got too close to one of the Gyarados statues and a blaring alarm went off, and within seconds they were swarmed with a mass of Rocket Grunts, though they weren't normal looking grunts. They wore blue half masks that covered half of their faces, but that aside, they each had a grunt they needed to take care of, and the battles were on.
Defeating the grunts was easy enough, but looking down the hallway, there had to be at least twenty Gyarados statues that they could see, and if each one of them set an alarm, or even if only some of them set of an alarm, that called for a different group of grunts, there was no way they could handle all those grunts, let alone make it anywhere in an even remotely decent amount of time and try and take on the last glitch they were looking for. Morty's Haunter inspected the first statue they set off further, trying to find a way to turn off it's alarm, but any wires were set so far into the stone that they couldn't reach them to cut them, and any outside intrusion was more than likely able to set off the alarm anyways. They were contemplating just trying to ward off all the grunts that came their way until Emiri suggested they use electricity.
Turns out one of Emiri's precious Pokemon was a dark/electric type Pokemon, and with his electricity they were able to fry the circuits from the inside before any sensors went off, but their moment of victory was short lived as Odd's Shedinja blew up one of the other statues, and chaos ensued. There were sure to be grunts flooding into the hallway any second, so the group took off running to try and beat the grunts as Emiri set to work frying the statues that they passed by for extra measure. They raced through the hallway till they came to a large spiral staircase, and even then they were still running as they worked their way down, but they were met by two rockets who seemed to be superior in their rank with their uniforms and lack of masks, and they had to fight them off before they could continue.
They fought, and with their combined Pokemon, the two admin didn't have a chance, but they conceded defeat and left the trainers to clean up their mess for them, knowing the glitch was still down the way in the laboratory Bill had pointed out for them. And so, coming to face the final glitch roaming free through the discarded laboratory, the trainers began to fight with everything they had left to try and subdue the monster.
Rhienne and the others attacked with everything they had, trying to weaken the monster so they could capture it in one of their remaining lockdown balls, but just when they might have thought that it was over, bits of coding starting to fall from the glitch as it froze in it's place in the air, it was only merely deleting unwanted data as it shuttered before flickering to a new form, a much more physical form that resembled that of a ghost, and it almost cackled at them then as it threw up a wall, much like that of Bill's Porygon, and in a devastating attack of horrendous blue flame it attacked Morty's Haunter, but when the ghost went to return the attack, it did nothing.
Their cumulative devices began to crackle and fizzle in and out of audio as Bill was trying to contact them, only catching bits and pieces of the frantic message he was trying to send. Something about his Porygon? That was all any one of them managed to get out of the message, but one by one they all released Bill's Porygon and the computers attacked, being able to get through the glitch's fire wall and do damage. Just as things seemed hopeless, the glitch freezing the room over little by little with it's new found power, their Porygon's collective attacks managed to break the glitch's power just long enough for them to throw one last lockdown ball, and with a distorted cry as the lights around them flickered and exploded, the final Missingno was captured.
After the events in trying to fend off the Missingno that had been created, Rhienne and Mika were left off in Ecruteak by Emiri where they spent some time in recovery and getting their bearings back. However before they could press on in their travels, they were once again summoned by the 'shadow master' but this time their endeavors were far more rigorous than the first time they'd been captured. Rhienne and Mika had to fight through thirteen different environments before finally facing off with Darkrai himself, but even after defeating the 'shadow master' their perils were not over. Darkrai sent a ghoulish, grotesque monster after them, a monster of the living dead it looked like with a skeletal bird like head and beak with razor teeth and talons, and pieces of decayed flesh and muscle that still clung to it's tattered body. The battle was grueling and the monster had befell many of their Pokemon, but Mika and Rhienne had just barely managed to defeat the monster in order to be released from Darkrai's grasp, though the shadow swore revenge on the defeat of his pet.
Being brought back to Ecruteak, Rhienne and Mika spent some time still in recovery and training to make themselves more prepared should they face off with Darkrai in the future where Rhienne came into contact with who is now one of her greatest companions, Nara. The Raikou was in Ecruteak among the ashes of the burned tower, searching for a trainer worthy of her companionship when she found Rhienne, and though Rhienne refused to catch her, not wanting the responsibility of having a legendary Pokemon in her ranks and not wanting to chain down the tiger, Mika captured Nara at her permission and left her with Rhienne's possessions later on, but not before one of Rhienne's greatest mistakes took place.
Having finally found time and after gathering the necessary ingredients, Rhienne took to trying out this so called 'spell book' that she had managed to find. But to her dismay with her lack of training and lack of knowledge, the spell back fired and left her with a new set of appendages, a set of ears and a tail that resembled that of an Espeon. Without any real way of knowing how to fix it save for what looked to be a healing spell, Rhienne was adamant that they keep traveling then so that she could begin looking for ingredients, and so Mika and Rhienne spent some time traveling through western Johto.
Months later, there were reports of blackouts moving through the entire Johto region where Bill was issuing another call to arms from Mahogany Town. Rhienne thought the worst, knowing that everything that had originally happened with Missingno couldn't have been over then, but she and Mika agreed to help and showed up in Mahogany Town where other trainers had gathered. Bill came out with a police officer and Pryce from the gym to give the official word on what was going on. Zapdos and Raikou had been spotted in the region when the blackouts started and if Bill could get data on their electrical readings to compare to the ones that had shut down the entire region, then he could find the source of the blackouts and fix it. The last confirmed location of the legendaries was at the very north edge of the Lake of Rage to the north of the town, and so the trainers started that way with Pryce in tow to begin their mission.
They came to the southern edge of the lake where Pryce split them up into groups in order to start their search. Spanning the entire perimeter of the lake, Rhienne and Mika with their group were sent to the eastern edge of the lake beside the beginning of the ice path. Not even an hour into their searching though and an entire swarm of Neo Rocket Grunts was sent after them, but the battle was less than challenging really as they ran and the search continued as they continued to move to the northern edge of the lake.
Moving to the very northern edge of the lake, Rhienne and the other trainers were attacked by a pair of Neo Rocket Admins, Carl and Sham, who were a distraction for the trainers while the Neo Rockets made their escape. It was a tough battle, but they made it through, and afterwards Bill was able to get into contact with the trainers with news that Zapdos and Raikou were confirmed to be in Mt. Mortar and Pryce had seen Team Rocket moving in and out of the mountain and had gone to investigate himself. Rhienne made her way back to Mahogany Town with the rest of the trainers in order to move to Mt. Mortar, but she only hoped that all of this didn't mean another attack by Missingno since a lot of the same pieces were adding up like they had the first time, especially with Team Rocket's involvement. However, she wasn't going to back down now and made her way towards Mt. Mortar with Marcellus in order to continue their work.
Rhienne and the other trainers spent a few hours moving through the caves and caverns of the northern mountain range trying to find the inner corridors that Bill had referred to where he was getting the strongest electrical readings, and facing off with hoards of angry and territorial Pokemon no doubt due to Team Rocket invading their home, and narrowly escaping being burried in a cave in caused by all the battles to fend off the wild Pokemon, Rhienne caught up with the rest of the trainers who had been split up among the mountain's caves. They came to an enormous corridor where Silver the head of Team Rocket was waiting for them, ready to do them in himself since his other exploits had failed, readying with his Gyarados to take them on so that his underlings could finish their work, but as the battle became heated, chaos started to ensue. One by one different computers and machines the Rockets had started crashing and exploding, throwing the whole facility into a state of hysterics and panic, and as the battle continued, all of the Pokemon, Silver's Feraligatr included were thrown from the battle, being thrust against the wall or floor.
Ghetsis, the head of Team Plasma from Unova had come and was ready to cash in on what work Silver was trying to do, having been watching this whole time since the PC crash. The walls of the cavern around them began to shutter and quake before Zapdos and Raikou burst through the rocky walls, having this whole time been trying to find the source of the blackouts for themselves to keep the region under control, but just as everything had fallen to a stand still, Ghetsis and Silver having a stare down of will to see who would come out on top, one of the largest machines in the facility burst into a shower of shrapnel and sparks, sending a shock wave that knocked out all the Pokemon in the area, the legendaries included. From the remnants of the machine, Missingno emerged, larger this time with a garbled screech.
It hovered over the mess of computers and machines the Rockets had set out as the grunts from both Plasma and Rocket began to scramble for their lives where around them all of the computers were starting to turn into nothing but a mess of code and pixels, disappearing from where they stood, as if they were being erased. Rhienne struggled to find Mika through the chaos then, unsure of what they were supposed to do then as the cave started to collapse around them after Missingno gave out another shrill screech upon finding Ghetsis and Silver in its midst. The waves from it's energy surged over the entire cavern, striking the trainers and sending them across the rocky floor and starting to eat away at the steel beams that held the mountain up around them as it started fizzling into pixel and code. Rhienne was thrown across the floor until the hit a large rock with her side, effectively bruising and minorly fracturing some of her ribs. She still struggled to find Mika who had come to her side, and in the last moments before they were crushed, Absolem took Rhienne and Mika from the cavern and out into the open in front of Mt. Mortar, safe and out of harms way.
Afterwards, Nara moved into Mahogany town with Rhienne slumped over her back, in need of medical attention from the nurses who had gathered at the Pokemon Center. She suffered many scs and cuts and bruises along her body, and she managed to get a few hairline fractures in her ribs and bruised the rest of them. She was bandaged and wrapped and cleaned that night as she and her Pokemon began a night's worth of well deserved rest, but in her weakened state, Darkrai forced Rhienne into the midst of his realm once more, sure to keep her at bay this time.
Rhienne and her Pokemon only just barely were able to make it out of Darkrai's realm this time around after Darkrai trapped Rhienne in a powerful illusion of silence that almost drove her mad, but after Aviabra and Cheshire were able to break her out of it, Wattson fought off Darkrai to make sure that they could escape his realm, and were released back into the Pokemon Center room they had fallen asleep in. Rhienne spent a good while afterwards in Mahogany town, at least a month's time, recuperating, healing, and just spending some time to herself. Unbenownst to her, Vandit was sent to the past to fend off a great evil, and Absolem had been reduced to that of an Abra due to Darkrai's great nightmarish powers, and Mika was in an exhaustion and pain induced coma, but little by little Rhienne's life was coming back together. Her Pokemon blocked Vandit from her memory so she wouldn't grieve for his absence, and Absolem was brought back to normal, and Mika's recovery was stable despite him not waking any time soon. However, Rhienne remained hopeful that he would be alright as she silently promised to stay in Mahogany until he woke up.
That promise was broken though as the Porygon Bill had sent for her accidentally brought her to Azalea Town where she had tried to get back to Mahogany before meeting someone in the Ilex Forest, and in a fight between his Pokemon and hers with Aviabra, they were transported to a fair in the middle of no where. They didn't spend long there, but the time that they did made Rhienne worry for Mika ever more in not being in Mahogany Town, so she left off from the fair to return to Mahogany Town only to find that Mika had in fact woken up and was somewhere in the town.
