South of Mauville City located amidst a small river that flows from mainland Hoenn into the ocean, a seemingly small building remains on a patch of land known as New Mauville. While now it has been converted into a power plant for the ever growing city, New Mauville was actually supposed to be a living complex, the first of it's kind to span sixty-nine stories underground, an entire underground city of sorts. While the construction did move on quite smoothly and the complex had almost been completed, the funding for the project was halted, and since then all sixty-nine floors of New Mauville remain underground, untouched and uninhabited, save for the electric type Pokemon that like to call the converted power plant home.
