 In one of the most central parts of the Kalos region, completely land locked and far from any signs of civilization, grassy plains and towering trees turn to nothing but miles and miles of red clay known as the Lumiose Badlands. Towering plateaus and canyons characterize this almost forsaken landscape where very few ever come to travel due to the harshness of the environment. There is hardly any sanctuary from the brutal sun that has no other choice but to beat down on the flat expanse day in and day out, making this area almost a desert. It is difficult and grueling to travel this route where it is very easy to get turned around or lost in a valley of plateaus, so it is best to come prepared, or don't dare travel the route at all.
Because of it's flat landscape and more than abundant amount of sunlight, Kalos' fully functional and revolutionary power plant remains spanning through the flat dirt plains and plateaus. The power plant uses solar power from the abundant sun that it gets to generate all of the electricity for the Kalos region and has since become a revolutionary design for power plants all across the world.

Unfortunately, here in the Lumiose Badlands is exactly where Thomas needed to be. This stupid Region was so backwards that in order to get from the fourth Gym Battle to the fifth Gym Battle, you had to cross the desert of 'why the hell does any place need to be this damn hot?!'. He had changed back into his running clothes expecting a brisk jog across some land not comparable to Death Valley, and instead found himself sweating through them not ten paces in.
Oh well, at least if things get to become too much, he had a couple Water-Type Pokemon that could hose him down. That was in the back of his mind, hidden behind the bottle of 'I hate my life'. Come to think of it, that was probably expired. -BACKPACK-

There, in the distance, he saw something that would be just about perfect right now. "A water park..." He muttered, staring at it as though he expected it to vanish upon closer scrutiny. In this heat, the water park would be well placed to give some relief to the exhausted Traveler. However, how many people really passed this way? How could they keep up enough business to stay... well, to stay in business?
He began walking towards the park. After a few minutes of walking, he leaned against a large boulder to catch his breath and rest for a moment. The second he touched it, the boulder came to life. Thomas jumped away and instinctively sent out one of his Pokemon. Hell he hadn't even looked at which Pokeball it was, but was relieved when Seel emerged and stood facing the now-rising boulder. The Pokemon turned to face them, and he saw that it was a Graveler.
His face paled. Those Pokemon were well known for exploding themselves, and Thomas was not up for such an action here. No, either it would blast him all the way back to the beginning or kill him. He doubted he would be able to survive it as weak as he felt. "Seel, freeze that thing!" Seel instantly whipped up a Blizzard that swept over the barren wasteland. The chill caused Graveler to flee, and the cold air was like the first breath of fresh oxygen after coming close to drowning. TL;DR

Above them, Amma's cloths rippled in the wind, heat didn't really bother her being a ghost, but she still was unnerved. Leering down at Marilyn. She knew something was wrong about her energy. Amma began to quietly chant, glaring down at the fighting type. Ridley had her eyes closed and rolled up her long sleeved dress to allow tanning on her arms as well as her face, legs and cleavage. Both Delphine and Jessica tried to made do with what they could. Sirene was less then pleased, being out in the heat like this, she belonged in the water. She ended up looking back as she heard a weird noise, and saw the weasel shuttered and her head sinking lower as if she were cowering. " Hey guys, is this normal for her? I think Marilyn is getting sick." Sirene called out. Amma kept chanting leering down at the Pokemon. Ridley sat up and leaned around Delphine to see the Meinshao. " Hey, are you alright Marilyn?" Delphine asked her in a soft voice. " You need to tell us if you're getting sick. Don't you dare barf on Magnezone." Ridley threatened. Marilyn suddenly froze, her shoulders still tense and head low. She began to shift and then turn around. " I'm Fine!" She shouted only... It wasn't her face. It was distorted and stretched out. Her mouth creeping past her maw, and her eyes cracking up wards. Not only that... But her voice sounded like there were two, and Ridley could understand it. Upon seeing her face Amma tried to swoop down but she wasn't near fast enough. Ridley, Delphine, and Jessica began to scream, as Sirene let out a gasp and went to attack what ever it was. But Delphine reacted first. She grabbed the point at the top of the Magnezone and threw her body forward, unintentionally pushing the magnet forward, his forces reacting to the sudden shift, and he suddenly rocketed down straight into the ground. The sudden stop sent Ridley, Jessica, Delphine, Sirene and what ever Marilyn was, into the air screaming. They all flew a few yards before hitting the ground and tumbling as they scrambled to react and stop. Delphine how ever reacted on impulse and landed on hr staff which caught her keeping her from hitting the ground but Del's force sent her forward on her staff causing her to rocket off screaming. Ridley and Sirene were first to be on their feet followed by Jessica. " What are you!?" Ridley shouted at the beast still laying on the ground. "It's dat demon from the Reflection cave." Amma confirmed. " The what?" Sirene questioned, having missed that adventure. Ridley turned to explain. " A demon haunter attacked us and possessed all of us before disappearing, we thought, and apparently it's been inside her this whole time." The blonde spoke quickly. But the wicked laughter cut her off before she could speak any further. Marilyn began to writhe on the ground as she shifted back and forth. She soon rose to her feet as she rotated to face the Pokemon, her face still wicked and cracked. " Do you know how hard it is to listen to you all whine and moan? " The voice spoke as her head shuttered and twitched unnaturally. " You don't understand how hard it was not to just grab you and snap all your pretty little necks." it spoke, two voices coming out of her maw as it wrinkled as she spoke. Ridley had so many questions... Was this sent from that beast in the Ballroom, or was this from her uncle? Either way I needed to be destroyed and out of Marilyn. Jessica glanced at Sirene, both making eye contact. It would seem their short ride together gave them an idea. If they couldn't stop this beast without hurting the fighting type, they were going to freeze it till they could. Both Pokemon advanced and held out their arms to unleash powerful blizzards at the same time, focused on the possessed team mate. Winds and snow filled the area as the temperature began to drop in the immediate area. Ridley stepped up to her two Pokemon to look, but couldn't see anything. After a long moment Ridley spoke. " Okay, stop" Ridley told them, and they did, revealing a large block of ice before them. Ridley moved forward slowly and cautiously as she inspected the ice. How were they going to get Marilyn out without freeing the demon? If they couldn't, they wouldn't leave her there... Ridley got to the ice and put her hand on it, only to freeze for a moment, and look closer. " Shit, she's not in there!" Ridley shouted whirling around to face her Pokemon. She couldn't react in time before she saw Marilyn standing behind Jessica. She jumped and gave Jessica a swift kick in the back, sending her off the ground and forward. She quickly charged a black aura sphere and blasted Jessica further, causing Ridley to duck as the Jynx hit the block of eyes. Sirene began to move to attack. The land based mermaid charged the fighting type and began to sing, belting out a echoing high pitched wail that filled the air. Sirene stopped short of the possessed Pokemon as her belt continued, leaning into it and focusing her voice at the Pokemon in front of her. The ghostly fighting type trembled for a moment before she quickly moved, grabbing onto Sirene's arm and spun around flinging her around. " Your shrieks don't effect me Mermaid." The ghost spat. Sirene landed and struggled to get to her feet, but managed it. This angered the Sirene as she leered at the Pokemon. " Alright then," She began before charging once more and began to spin rapidly her skirts flaring out and slammed them into the possessed fighting type. This send Marilyn to the ground as Sirene stopped herself her skirts twisting around her to a stop. The Possessed Pokemon whirled around on the ground and fired a blackened aura sphere at her form the ground, sending her sailing into a rocking out crop, and to the ground on her hands and knees. Marilyn rose to her feet with a smirk, as Ridley Ran forward. She didn't have a weapon like a bat, but she wasn't going to be a damsel watching idle by. Ridley jumped into the air and drop kicked Marilyn in the head, causing her to stumble away. Ridley had at least grabbed a rock, and spun around and slammed the rock into the possessed Pokemon. She continued her assault, spinning back around lifting her leg to kick her once more, but The demon caught her foot. " What a brave mortal, most aren't heartless enough to attack their own Pokemon. " She snarled as she used Ridley's captive leg to loft her backwards. Ridley shrieked as she went airborne before landing hard on her back, and rolling over her shoulder. This was enough distraction for Jessica to get up close and grab Marilyn in a strong grip on her shoulders and started to drain the force out of the demon. She glared into the demon's eyes as she began to pull the energy out of the Pokemon. The Demon began to lift itself and Jessica into the air and flung the two around using acrobatics, but Jessica refused to let go. She didn't let go until Marilyn fired an Aura Sphere at Jessica knocking her to the ground. Jessica turned back and blasted a Blizzard at the possessed Pokemon keeping her at bay until she lost her footing and was knocked back against the ground. Amma appeared over Marilyn and poured a chalky liquid from a black old bowl onto her as she began to writhe and shriek. Marilyn's Mouth dropped open as she began screaming and writhing on the ground. Within moments the black demonic Haunter was cast out and was hissing angrily in the are. Jessica quickly got up and used psychic to yank Marilyn's body out from under the beast, resting her head in her lap. " You think a group of sluts can take me out? Oh... When I'm done with you all..." It snarled and hissed as it spoke angrily. It's body was tweaking and distorting as it spoke. The ground beneath them began to rumble as it's claws hands began to twist in the air. Ridley had moved back to her Pokemon Marilyn as she watched the demon. There wasn't anything she could do now... But Amma appeared behind it again. " Go back to hell where you belong demon." Amma demanded as she began to fire a beam out of her gyms and trinkets around her next. It bore into the demon as it screeched and began to moan unnaturally. She hadn't had to in so long maybe she was a bit rusty... " That is when a ghost turns to the wrong forces." Amma spoke. Sirene shook her head. Delphine saw everyone was tending to Marilyn, and she couldn't freak about her broom or the demon, so she turned her attention to the Magnezone she ran into the ground. " I am so sorry, I know that hurt..." She apologized her paws on her face. She leaned forward and hugged the magnet after her sorry. " It's okay, I know you didn't mean to... Just don't do it again," it replied accepting her hug and apology. However back with the group, as they calmed themselves a weak voice spoke. " You assholes left me possessed for 3 days." Marilyn spoke weakly from Jessica's lap. Ridley gasped and began to stroke her fur. " We're so sorry... I know how terrible it is... We should have noticed sooner..." Jessica spoke. Of everyone, Jessica knew what it was like to be possessed and what happened while you were under. Marilyn thought for a moment to fire back, but she understood Jessica meant it, and she had given her such a hard time over it in the past... " We need to get her to a center." Ridley told them, lifting the fighting type out of Jessica's lap and carried her over to Magnezone. They climbed back on and off they zipped as fast as Magnezone could take them. Elfana Aroway "This region is on a mission to make me miserable." She whined to the Vulpix in her arms. How long had they been walking? Too long. She had long since taken off her heels. They had gotten caught in the dried, cracked ground one time too many. She had failed to time her trip properly so the sun was shining bright overhead. Elfana felt like she was going to burn despite how early in the day it was. "What Legendary asshole thought sunlight was a good idea?" The grumpy doctor wanted to glare at the sun but thought the better of it. She kinda liked being able to see where she was going. Her plan to wait to sleep until they were headed to Alola was going to have to change. By the time they were almost out of the Badlands she was exhausted. They would get through North Lumiose City then stop at the Pokemon Center in Laverre. It wasn't much of a plan but it was better than abandoning the plan entirely. Kalos

Script headed deeper into the badlands hugging Frofro close to his chest to keep her out of the sun. The two walked in silence as the sun beat down on them harshly. It was probably the closest thing to hell that the boy had ever experienced. However movement out of the corner of Script's eye soon caught his attention. A little blue pokemon was digging in the sand a few feet away, it's large mouth and sharp teeth snapping happily as it do so. Immediately Script was entranced by the little creature. It was so cute! He wanted it to join his family! The boy took out Stars' pokeball and released the Ponyta.

Lumiose Badlands were definitely not made for bikes. The ground was really rough and full of rocks, but that didn't stop him. Although he wished that he had a Gogoat in this moment, because it seemed easier and less.. shaking. At least they entered it before it got swarmed and the wild Pokemons weren't plentiful yet.
He kept his eyes on the 'road' in front of him, rather than focusing on his brother following along. To be fair, Gogoat was faster and more used to the rough terrain, but it was plain as day that Fabian was slower on a purpose, to keep up with him. Which was nice and all. But he turned to look at him for a second, and in that very moment his bike hit something and he crashed. He and his bike tripped forward harshly, and hit the ground head-first. Despite the dizziness from the impact, Vale still heard Gogoat's hooves go to a halt, as if she and Fabian were using all their strength to stop her momentum before crashing into him also. Groaning, he rolled onto his back and rubbed his face. It hurt, and it's absolutely bruised.
"Shit! Are you-" he knew what his brother was about to ask, but it was promptly cut off when the ground shook. He raised his head in time to see the culprit - the weird ground bumps moves and grew, revealing a Dugtrio.
Vale cringed - he hated those things. They were annoying, popping out of nowhere and near impossible to run away from. And now one caused him to crash and lose time, and it didn't seem like it was going to let him go either - judging by its angry expression.
"Quit staring at me like that. It's your fault I ran over your stupid head!" he growled and withdrew Dewott's PokeBall from his belt.
Caspian didn't need explaining - his whiskers twitched at his trainer's injury and then hit his opponent with Waterfall. Somehow Dugtrio survived, and then retaliated with Bulldoze - not as hard, but it did made the otter trip and slow down noticeably. The ground Pokemon then dug underground and reappeared closer to his opponent, striking it with Night Slash. He was worried for a moment it will be critical hit, but Caspian got up and retaliated with another Waterfall, scaring the Dugtrio off for good.

After the Dugtrio disappeared in the ground, Vale healed his Pokemon and then sat up. His face and head hurt, and he needed to take it slow now.. which was bad, because they were in the middle of nowhere, and he had a bike on top of that. Speaking of, the bike didn't suffer any damage, which was ridiculous.
Fabian got closer with his Pokemon, and crouched down near him. "Are you okay?"
"Hurt." he groaned, rubbing his nose. "I don't think I broke anything, but my head hurt now."
"Alright, I can work with that." his twin sighed and got up to his bag. After a moment of rummaging in it, he withdrew a bottle of painkillers. "Here. Those should help until we reach the city."
Sure, the last time he ate was on the boat (and not even much), but he didn't care - he needed them. He still had to wait a moment, before they start working and also let Fabian check his injuries.
"You have a bit scd forehead and nose, and it will leave a bruise. But it doesn't look broken." his brother hummed as he examined his face.
"Great, another blemish to deal with." he groaned, rubbing his throat as well.
"You know, the bruises do look like you just fell on your face. The scar, however, tells more obvious story." Fabian concluded, patting his shoulder.
Neither of them wanted to spend so much time here, but Vale needed to wait for the painkillers to start working before driving again. In the meantime, he looked around as well at their Pokemons. But then he spotted some movement behind the nearby rocks. He saw something dark blue-ish peek from behind, and he recognized it - it was a lone Gible. He had oddly soft spot for those Pokemons, as despite their rarity, he saw few of them during his early wanders onto the Badlands. Frankly, he wouldn't mind catching it - sure, he already had a big team, but diversity was good. And ground types were useful.
And he didn't even had to instigate the fight himself - Fabian's Gogoat huffed and stomped the ground, trying to scare it off, to which they responded with a hiss and simple sand attack. Before his twin could interfere, Vale nodded at Caspian to fight it himself.
"What are you doing?" his brother asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I want to catch it." he replied, with a slight smile. And it didn't waver when his companion cringed.
"I think you should stop catching Pokemons. It's getting crowded." Fabian grimaced.
"Sure, and then come back to me when you go and challenge Clemont with only Krokorok." Vale snorted and barely dodged as his brother tried to smack him.
"Hey!b]" he called and then turned from him. "Anyways, so far it seems like your Dewott is getting his ass kicked."
He opened his mouth to retort, but he did looked in the battling Pokemons direction and.. well, Gible was, after all, also part Dragon and actually had Dragon moves. And indeed, Caspian got beaten up fast by Dragon Breaths. Thankfully Gible didn't run away, despite being beaten up worse. With a sigh, he withdraw his starter and then brought out UltraBall, and got up.
"Want to see something really big?" he asked before Fabian could put him back down, and he tossed the UltraBall, releasing Oberon out.
Gible skittered backward, shocked, while the Gogoat made a panicked noise and trotted behind the two trainers, clearly unwilling to get in the way. His brother, in the meantime, grasped his arm tightly and he could even hear his heart beating loudly at near max speed.
"You should had warned us!" Fabian hissed, trying to catch a breath then.
"Hey, I did asked if you wanted to see it." he chuckled smugly and shrugged.
"And then didn't wait for an answer!" his brother snapped, finally normalizing his breath and heart rate.
Thankfully Palkia didn't need to do much against their opponent, although Gible did scored a Dragon Breath, mostly out of fear. Oberon's own Dragon Breath was definitely enough to bring the opponent down, and before it could recover enough to run away, Vale tossed a GreatBall at it. They all watched intently as the ball shook and then went still.
But before he could walk to retrieve it, Oberon turned to face them and lowered their head. Vale felt his brother tense and step behind him, unsure of Pokemon's intentions.
"They won't eat you, you know?" he rolled his eyes, and rubbed Palkia's head. Their scales were hard and a bit cold, but the Pokemon blinked, being content with the physical contact.
"I mean, maybe? But it's still.. big and scary." his twin muttered under his nose, staring at them with wide eyes. Oberon looked at him for a moment, blinking slowly again.
"See? They are friendly. Unless something endangers me, that is." he concluded. "But now, we really should get moving."
"Oh, you tell me." Fabian nudged him, and then cautiously walked around him and Oberon, only to get the GreatBall. "Alright, here. Now get on your back and look forward."

Badlands were always unwelcoming, but now.. it seemed like it was cranked up to eleven. And not because of abundance of wild Pokemons - quite the opposite. Now it seemed like the wasteland was completely devoid of any and all life. It was definitely too quiet, too peaceful, and Vale didn't like that. "Fabian, something's wrong."
"I can see that, thanks you." despite the snark in his voice, he could tell that his brother was also concerned. "To be fair, the whole capitol is invaded, so maybe that's why. Just like Reflection Cave was seemingly empty."
"You might be right.. and since North parts of the city were taken by the Ground types, maybe that's how." he said quietly, as Gogoat's hooves clicked against the rough ground. She didn't seem to get tired of all the walking, thankfully, and he was so grateful for not having to walk all the way there. "I don't know though. I don't understand Pokemons, but maybe it has something to do with Clemont's gym?"
"If the attacks are reversed here as well, then he will have advantage, though." his twin reminded him, which still didn't made sense but he decided not to argue with the forces of nature again. "Buut maybe the Pokemons didn't realize that at first, and just went with it anyways."
