 "A city of peaceful strolls."
At one of the most western edges of the Kalos region, Cyllage City remains at the western coast of Kalos, resting right on the sandy beaches and warm open sunshine. It is a very mountainous city with a racing track that moves through the rocks and around the entirety of the large city that is homage to bicyclists everywhere. The bike shop can be found here, and you can always find a multitude of people out on their bikes using the track and exercising, even some with their pokemon who run along side them on the sandy beach. Cyllage City is a beautiful City nestled in between two of nature's most natural beauties, a vast blue ocean and a set of large cavernous mountains and cliffs, and it is in those cliffs at the edge of the bicycle track that the Cyllage City gym can be found.
{Cyllage City Gym (Click)}Grant is the Official Gym Leader of Cyllage City's Gym. He specializes in Rock-type Pokémon, and gives the Cliff Badge to Trainers who defeat him. Grant has been labeled as "The wild, yet cool and collected, rock climber." and certainly lives up to that title. He excels at a variety of sports, such as bike racing and mountain climbing, and often spends his time climbing the walls in his gym, or racing bike riders around his city. He even visits Korrina's gym for a bit of rollerblading, in which he's actually beat her in a few races in the past. Not only is he athletic, but Grant is also known as a trend setter, and quite fashionable. He started a wide spread trend with his signature hairstyle with "rolling stones" in it. The young man is very active, not only physically, but spends a lot of time with other Gym Leaders, causing him to be very popular. He's been seen at fashion shows with Valerie, Photo shoots with Viola when they are in dangerous areas, attending to Ramos's tree, and many more. Even with his very active life style, he makes sure to have time for a gym battle with the trainers when challenged. Grant's Gym is a bit more out of the way than most, and in fact most trainers need help finding it. The gym is built into the mountains that tower over the City, where it's entrance sits high above the city's sky line, where the challengers are forced to hike the steep bike way. Once at it's entry way, most are surprised to not even find a door, just an archway carved out of the mountains. Once inside, it opens up into a massive cavern area that is naturally hallowed out. The ground area is flat, and surrounds a large and tall formation, almost like a mini ledge that stands tall in the massive cavern. This, of course, holds the Gym's actual battle field. The only way to reach Grant to battle him is to scale the side of the wall in the middle of the cavern. The wall is long hand has many start paths, all varying in difficulty. After defeating the Gym Trainers, they will assist the challenger by putting them in a harness, and mending the ropes as the climb the side of the wall. They even had harnesses of many shapes and sizes for those Pokemon who want to join, of course those of reasonable size and weight. After climbing the entire wall, and reaching the top, the challenger will find themselves on a large flat rocky surface. {Wyatt Hale || Tough Contest Leader (Click)} Wyatt is one of the more interesting Contest Leaders in Kalos. He enjoys Contest, and is definitely good at it. However, it's only a hobby of his. His true passion is out at sea. He is an actual Caption of his own ship, which is docked just off of Cyllage. He has been out at sea his whole life, slowly making his way through the ranks until he was able to become the captain after the previous one passed away. He might pillage and steal from complete cargo from other ships, how ever there is never any evidence that it's him or his crew. He also sometimes takes private parties on his ship for those that are willing to pay the high price he has set. He is said to have his own treasure hidden some where but he says those are just myths. He seems to be chivalrous, and smooth while outside of a battle or contest, but once there is a prize to be had, he definitely will be a fierce opponent. The path leading to the exit was rocky and uneven. As he was walking, Thomas kept his eyes trained straight ahead at the light coming through the cave's exit. He was ready to get out of this cave now, but the rocks around the exit began to move and cut off his path, and cut off the light coming through the cave. Thomas couldn't see a thing. Suddenly wishing he'd kept his Fennekin with him, Thomas threw a Pokeball. He knew that it was a Pokemon blocking the way out. Suddenly the light was back; the Pokeball had pulled the Pokemon inside. The ball shook three times before sealing. Thomas really didn't even know who his new Pokemon was, but he'd find out later. He ran out of the cave, leaving Honeycomb to catch up. He hurried down the path to the next town, and found the Pokemon Center. He rested and relaxed, unwinding from the cave with a nice meal and a couch to lay on. A couple of hours later, Thomas was ready to continue his journey. He went to the P.C., depositing a Pokeball and leaving the Center. "So, my next Gym challenge is in this City, hmm?"

Thinking whether or not he should train some more, Thomas simply shrugged his shoulders and walked to the Gym. It was up an elevated trail, and set into the side of a cliff. He looked up with his mouth gaping open at the rock-climbing wall. He'd never seen anything quite like it, it looked like a blast! He immediately started climbing the wall, shimmying along the narrow paths, his bee flying along with him. Finally he comes face-to-face with a Trainer. "I'll bet I have to beat you before I can face the Gym Leader, right?"
The Gym Trainer nodded with a smile. He was a Hiker, and Thomas had an idea what types of Pokemon he would have. He sent out a Rhyhorn, a Pokemon Thomas was familiar with. "Let's do this." He threw out his own Pokeball, not really sure what was in it. It was the Pokemon that had blocked his way in the cave. When an Onix materialized from the Pokeball, Thomas was stunned. It was Shiny! Those were so rare, and he now had two.
The Trainer took the opportunity while Thomas was coming to grips with his new Pokemon, to attack. "Rhyhorn, use Horn Attack!" Rhyhorn raced at Onix, driving it's horn directly into Onix's body.
"Let's counter with Earthquake!" Thomas shouted. The entire rock-climbing structure began to shake violently, throwing the Rhyhorn over the narrow edge. The Hiker quickly returned his Pokemon before it impacted the ground. He heals his Onix fully before continuing on his way.

Thomas climbed up and onto the top of the rock-climbing structure, looking around. No wonder the Gym Leader chose to be up here; not only was the climb a blast, but you felt like the king of the world at the top. Thomas was alone at the top, however. "Hello?" He called out, wondering if the Leader was even here.
Suddenly, a man climbed up from the other side, making it look effortless. "Hello, looks like you've come to challenge me." He smiled kindly at Thomas, who nodded his head. "Well then, what do you say we begin?"
Thomas waited for Grant to make the first move. He sent out what looked to be a t-rex, albeit a young one. Thomas aimed his Pokedex at the dinosaur, listening to the brief explanation. "That's awesome, so you revived this Pokemon from the ground?"
"It was locked away within a fossil, I just had to turn the key." Grant smiled again. "You going to send someone out?"
Thomas had nearly forgotten, but nods his head. "Yeah... go, Onix!" He threw out his Pokemon.

"Tyrunt, use Stealth Rock." Tyrunt scooped up rocks from the structure in it's powerful jaw, throwing them around Onix's body. It looked down at the rocks, but then back at Tyrunt.
"Let's finish this early, with Earthquake!" Thomas shouted out. Onix caused the entire structure to shake violently again, and Tyrunt couldn't keep it's balance. It was flung off it's feet and landed hard. Tyrunt didn't move after than, so Thomas knew that they had beaten his first Pokemon. With such an easy win, Thomas was hopefully optimistic that the rest would be just as easy.

Grant's eyes widened, he hadn't expected a Trainer facing him to have a Pokemon with such a powerful move. "I underestimated you, thought I'd have to go easy on you." He smiled apologetically. "For that I am sorry." He throws out a Pokeball, which splits open in the air to reveal Amaura.
"Another dinosaur..." Thomas mutters to himself. He keeps Onix in the battle.
"Amaura, use Aurora beam." Grant orders, and the dinosaur sent the colorful spray of ice-attack at Onix. Thomas didn't realize how super-effective it was until Onix fell over.
"Oh no! Come on Onix, get up!" Thomas watched with his breath held, waiting to see if Onix would rise again. Onix had held on with all of his strength fading fast. Slowed by the ice, he began to shake the ground violently again. Amaura had no chance of keeping it's footing, and fell hard again, nearly falling over the edge. Grant quickly returned his Pokemon. "You did it, Onix!" He healed his Pokemon and hugged the bulky frame.

 Leader GrantGrant returned his fainted Amaura, and let out a light breath as he began to walk across his now very cracked battle field. After hopping over one of the large fissures in the ground, he net out a grin, knowing that the destroyed field was a sign of a good battle, even if it was at his own expense. "That was a tough battle to say the least. Quick, but tough." he began once he was within ear shot of the challenger. It had been a while since he faced someone that could beat him at all, but this quickly was surprisingly exciting. "It really goes without saying, you earned these." he told the challenger, holding out the rewards. Once they were taken he began to turn away, but stopped. "You know, Korrina is a really tough battler. Just a heads up, though I don't think you'll need it." he told him, almost sure that he would be able to take her on in her roller rink of a gym. Changing before they left, Thomas recalled all of his Pokemon into their Pokeballs. He was now wearing his running shorts, no shirt, and a pair of running shoes. He was ready for the run back to Cyllage City. He loved the few times when he got to actually run and let off some energy in a non-fearing-for-his-life way. It cleared his mind, which is something he needed in this moment. Without another moment's hesitation, he was off! The clearing of his mind took a few moments, but about the same time his lungs started burning he managed to empty his mind of all thoughts and push past the crutch. -Backpack-

As he got into the City hidden beneath a mountainous structure, he stopped to finally catch his breath. Breathing hard, he held his hands folded on top of his head, looking around. He finally went to the Pokemon Center to shower, change, and reserve a room for the night. "Are you sure you want to stay the night?" Nurse Joy asked him. He stared at her in confusion. "You're welcome, of course. I just meant that most Trainers are going to the Leafstone Nature Reserve. They only open their doors once a year, and it's an experience you just can't miss."
Thomas thought for a moment, and then decided. "I would like to go, how do I sign up?"
"Just wait around, the Helicopter should be back in about..." She looked around at the clock. "...an hour, now." An hour didn't seem long to wait, Thomas' muscles were still aching and he wanted to sit down. It wasn't until the Nurse shook him that he realized he must have fallen asleep. "The Helicopter is here, come with me." She lead Thomas through some hallways, and eventually up onto the roof. She pointed, the chopping blades made too much noise for them to speak. He nodded in thanks and jogged over shielding his face. The Pilot opened the door, and he climbed in to sit beside two other Trainers.

She couldn't help but check her attitude at his response, and began over to the field that was open in the cavern. Bernard got in opposite of her, as Jessica and Del stood behind her and Amma floated over head. " You're up, Morticia." Ridley spoke. The flower moved forward very gracefully, almost as if she was sliding forward or hovering. Bernard let out a Rhyhorn, which made Ridley smile. " Morticia, why don't you do that thing you did in the cave." the trainer requested. Morticia began to wave her arms again as petals erupted from her bouquet and began to swarm the Rhyhorn. It continued until the Rhyhorn was no longer visible. After a few moments the petals began to disappear leaving behind an unconscious Rhyhorn. Ridley placed a hand on her hip as she spoke. " Alright, so where's Grant?" She asked calmly. Bernard took a second to answer, his mouth gaping open. He returned his Pokemon, and gave them a smile. " Well, that certainly was quick." he started, as he moved closer to Ridley. " Grant is up there." He said pointing up the rock wall. Ridley shrugged as she rolled her eyes. " Can you call him down then?" She asked him her annoyed tone returning. She just wanted to be done with this place already. Bernard let out another bellowing laugh. " Oh no, you have to climb up to him." He said pulling out the harnesses. Jessica's face dropped after hearing the news that they had to scale a rock wall to reach the gym leader. Bernard began for the harnesses and began over to Ridley. The group moved over to the rock wall and looked up at the task at hand. She was going to be forced to climb in heels and a skirt. She could do it, but she was pissed. " What are the other three for?" Jessica hesitantly asked. She knew what the answer was, but she hoped Ridley wouldn't be that cruel. " Well. It's for you, Del, and Morticia." Ridley replied with a salty tone and a fake smile. Jessica let out a sad sigh as she moved closer to Bernard, but Delphine let out a gleeful cheer and jumped. Both Delphine and Jessica got strapped in, and turned to the wall, leaving Bernard with a harness. " Did you still want this for your florges?" He asked. Ridley nodded to him and turned to look where the dark grass type was suppose to be, but there was nothing there. Ridley looked around, she knew Amma wasn't going to do it, she floated, but the flower... " Where did she go!?" Del exclaimed. Ridley rolled her eyes. She was already so done with their situation, she was not going to go looking. " Screw her." Ridley commented as she began to scale the wall. Amma floated up to the top, as Delphine climbed it at an alarming speed. Ridley easily out climbed Jessica who only climbed with arm strength. She didn't faulter any, nor did she fall, but she did climb at her own pace. Ridley climbed as fast as she could. She got a third of the way to the top before her heel slipped and she fell backwards off the wall. She shrieked as she fell a bit before the harness stopped her, swinging her back down against the wall, setting her back a ways. Delphine took the time to climb down and move around and started climbing one of the more difficult walls. Jessica slowly but steadily made her way to the top on her easy side. Angrily Ridley powered her way up there and heaved herself over the ledge and stood up on the field, seeing Grant ready and waiting. " You're an asshole." Ridley huffed as she began to walk her way to the field. Grant laughed at her comment. She looked over at the far end of the cavern and spotted Morticia standing in the shadows calmly. Ridley shook her head to see if she were imagining it, but she wasn't. Grant shifted in his lifted area as Ridley made her way to her's. " Well, you made it all this way, and still look that beautiful. How worried should I be?" Grant joked. It wasn't meant to be a flirtatious, just a comment. Ridley glared at him. " Very." She replied. He let out another laugh as he let out his Amaura. She knew he had a thing for Fossils, at least Rock types after everything, but she wasn't sure which ones he'd have. This could even the paying field for Delphine, but she'd still at a disadvantage. As well as Jessica and Morticia were now in the wrong. She didn't expect Amma to listen, so she was going to try for another Pokemon. That left Mawile, and all the other Pokemon she had caught in the tower. She reached into her purse, and felt the Pokeball that was one she didn't remember having... It felt strangely cold, When would be a better time to test it then with a weak challenge. She pulled it out, and let out the Pokemon. The red beam wavered and warped for a second before revealing to be Marilyn Monroe. Ridley was confused... Maybe it was a different ball that held the mystery Pokemon, but it was strange that it was cold... The Mienshoa looked down at herself for a moment and hen to her paws with a look of confusion as well, but then turned back to Ridley with a smile, and waved. Ridley looked at her funny, as Amma narrowed her eyes. " What are you doing? Get in there and tear it up." She commented as Marilyn slowly stopped waving and her smile disappeared. It was so strange. She turned back around and looked to the Amaura, and grinned as she charged the field and used a fighting attack Ridley hadn't seen before. She whirled around gracefully and slammed into the fossil. It began to blast the fighting type with a beam but it seemed to do nothing. Grant too looked on confused, knowing the attack should be more powerful. " Keep it up Amaura, her defense will give in." He commented But the weasel didn't slow. She continued to swing at the fossil until she knocked it over and it didn't get back up. Grant looked puzzled but not upset. " Hmm, strong Meinshao, but lets see what she can handle." He spoke, as he let out a Tyrunt. The little T-rex ran around in circles quickly. " I guess so. Keep at it Marilyn" Ridley commanded, and Marilyn swing again, but the Tyrunt's jaws unlocked and clamped down on Marilyn's arm and latched on. She let out a scream of pain, but it wasn't Marilyn's voice that came out. The mienshao fought to free herself, trying to swing it off, only to lose focus and slip, falling backwards once free and landed on her back. The image of a Meinshao shattered off of her, revealing an almost Gardevoir looking Pokemon but not.... It was aquatic, with long fins almost like Lumineon making it look like a Gardevoir. It had no hair like one, and was a light blue... She opened her black eyes and Ridley stayed silent. " What is that!?" Delphine spat out. Ridley stayed silent as she looked over the Pokemon. She hadn't seen anything like it. The Pokemon let out another cry as she received another bite. She swung her arm again and slammed it's head against the ground and began to raise to her feet, and dusted off her fin like dress. " I guess the jig is up." she spoke with a sly grin. She whirled around, her fins flaring out and held out her arms that were hidden in even more fin like clothing and unleashed a Blizzard on the little dinosaur. Ridley's eyes widened as they were all silent, as Amma looked on angrily. After The fossil appeared unconscious, Ridley quickly returned the Pokemon before it had the chance to turn on her. " Well... I haven't seen one of those before, but Hey, she got the job done." Grant spoke still a bit puzzled but he climbed down and began across the snowy field. She walked right up to it and laid her hand against the pseudo-mountain. "I think this is like those webs. We have to get to the top to prove... I don't know what we are supposed to prove with this." Lucy said, staring straight up. "These challenges seem really weird to me." What did it prove for Kira to be able to climb up a damn wall? Lucy was getting annoyed by the Gym Leaders of this Region overall. "Well, I'll follow you up. If you get into any trouble, I'll help." Kira looked at her Pokemon and nodded.
Grabbing the first rung, she tried to gauge exactly how far she would have to be able to reach at any time. Would it be a reasonable distance? She was not exactly confident in her rock climbing ability, but it did look like an awful lot of fun. "You know what? I think this will be awesome!" She said aloud, which might have sounded crazy to anyone who didn't know they were having conversations telepathically. She started her upward trek and found her way on a small platform that overlooked the entrance.
A man stood there, grinning. "Can't go any higher until you beat me!" He said, tossing out a Rhyhorn onto the small ledge they stood on. There wasn't much room to actually do a battle here, but he seemed to be happy about that. They were apparently used to the challenges of such restrictions. Kira sent out Totodile, who jumped up and down, feet, swinging back and forth to keep him up a few moments longer. Rhyhorn charged, but Totodile jumped up and over only to land on the horned back.
Kira's eyes went wide as the charging tank skidded to a halt and stopped just inches away from her. It huffed out a heavy breath right into Kira's face then turned around to look for Totodile. Apparently it didn't know Totodile was riding it like a Ponyta. It huffed and puffed looking all over for the magician of a croc after it's disappearing act. Totodile jumped straight up into the air then stared down into the upturned eyes of Rhyhorn. A Hydro Pump propelled Totodile so high into the air that it disappeared entirely. It... didn't return.
Kira looked up in absolute confusion, but there was no doubt the battle was over. The man returned his Pokemon and started climbing down another side of the wall. She continued up hoping to come across her Pokemon along the way. A missing Totodile was a scary thought. She made it up tot he top with little to no help from Lucy, who was only there to catch her if she fell. She didn't slip or stumble, only having to jump to reach an out-of-reach rung once. She discovered the Gym Leader was waiting there for her entertaining her Totodile while he waited for her to make it up.
They exchanged pleasantries and whatnot, and since Totodile was already out, Grant sent out Amaura knowing that the Water-Type would have the advantage against his own Pokemon. Totodile was getting ready to shoot a blast of water, but felt impact hit him in the gut. Amaura had charged and slammed into Totodile without warning, but a Hydro Pump sent it back across the field. Grant returned his Pokemon and chuckled. he complimented her Pokemon, saying that he knew it was a tough one when he'd been watching over it.
Kira grinned and returned Totodile. She wasn't sure what the next Pokemon would be, but he said it was his last one of the battle. Grant sent out Tyrunt, and Kira made an excited noise that she didn't think she'd ever made before. She knew she was going to have to introduce him to her own Tyrunt after this was over. She looked at Lucy. "What do you think? You'll be strong against it." She could tell at once that Lucy wasn't going to be game just now. She shook her head and crossed her arms.
"No. These are too weak to battle now. I'm sorry." Kira nodded and sent out her Onix. It roared and slammed it's heavy tail into the ground which began to shake. The Earthquake shook the whole battlefield from start of rock wall to field way above.
Tyrunt fell over but Kira raced across the field while Grant returned his Pokemon. "That was awesome. So look!" She threw out a Pokeball, releasing her tiny dino between them. The Pokeball fell back and she caught it easily. Tyrunt blinked in confusion trying to figure out why it was out on the battlefield after the battle was already complete. "I have one too! I caught mine a long time ago, but I have a ton of Dragons." She explained, accepting her badge and rewards as soon as he offered and pinning the badge to it's rightful spot on her bag. TL;DR

gravity_resistantLeader GrantGrant couldn't help but feel troubled at how quickly the battle commenced. Sure he had been able to get an attack in but it wasn't exactly normal for his Pokémon to get washed away so easily. No pun intended with the Hydro Pump. His Pokémon were naturally weak to ground attacks, and water attacks. As well as Totodiles were starters, and Onix weren't too hard to come by if you look in the right place. What really made him understand was her Mega Lucario. So she must have been a proficient trainer despite her age. That at least made sense with her ability to teach such strong moves, but why would she need just a second badge? All questions het Grant had, but didn't seem like it was his business to ask. She didn't come win with Mega Pokémon or a Tyranitar, and she was friendly and cared for her Pokémon. The airborne Totodile he had met prior to the battle seemed like he'd attest that. He had to return his fossil and began to make his way across the field. However, he only made a few steps because he saw the redhead running his way. He stopped and watched her grow nearer and let out another Pokémon, he didn't get worried, that wasn't his style. But he did grin when he saw her Tyrunt. He knelt down nd reached out to pet the little fossil. "That's awesome." He told her calmly but clearly glad she chose to show him. "Tyrunt, and Tyrantrum, are proud and loyal Pokémon. Just like most other Dragon types. I'm sure he'll help you out a lot in the league." He complimented giving Tyrunt another good scratch on the head before standing up and unzipping one of his packs and pulling out a badge for her. "It was a pretty short but telling battle. You're a very strong trainer, and very knowledgeable about Pokémon. It's always nice to see a strong and caring trainer. Especially so young." He complimented as he offered her his badge. He held a calm and collected demeaner as he spoke to her. "Just make sure you're challenging your Pokémon. Going at the lower gyms might be an insult to your Pokémon's true strength and clear potential. " he told her. He wasn't telling her it was really a bad thing she was doing. They weren't rare or overly evolved Pokémon, but they were strong and he was sure these Pokémon could be achieving much more. He was ready to made his leave as well as let make hers, he had planned to do some high speed biking. But he stopped and looked back to her pointing to one of he back sides of the battle field. "Oh, and if you prefer not to climb back down, there's a ramp you can go down instead." He told her. Most preferred to slide or walk down the ramp, however the more physically active ones like himself would rather climb down. She had never in her life seen anything like that before, a Pokemon being able to remove an appendage, let alone its head, altogether and walk away completely fine… But he didn’t seem harmed in the slightest. It must have something to do with whatever kind of supernatural part of him there was since he was able to levitate, or it was almost like Zaron’s hands that were separate from his body but still very much a part of him…
All in all, now that Emiri was back and surrounded by her Pokemon, things were feeling much less stressful again as they moved out to Cyllage City, their next stop for moving through the Kalos Region. Emiri landed with Charizard outside of the Pokemon Center, familiar with its location already, and was able to go inside to get her next stamp from Nurse Joy. That was another stamp down, and plenty more to go, but Emiri was ready to really make some progress with her day. Elfana Aroway Elfana wasn't sure she had left the cave when she first saw Cyllage City. She could only describe it as a cave aesthetic. Needless to say, she hated it. Of course she would need to backtrack through the city at least once after getting her stamp. She knew nothing about Ambrette Town beyond its location and she was already cursing its existence. Elfana headed straight for the Pokemon Center and collected her stamp. She was going to rush through Cyllage and Ambrette. If her Pokemon got tired she would return them to their Pokeballs. Walter and Haruka were the only two that had to walk with her. Neither of them had Pokeballs. The Vulpix in question had finally come down from his perch on her shoulders before they had exited the cave. He was keeping his distance but following along behind her. All of Pantalaimon's attempts at interacting with him had been rebuffed- not that Elfana could blame him. She understood him. A high energy Pokemon like her Turtwig could be tiring. He was not obligated to tolerate him. Their first trip through Cyllage was mercifully uneventful. She hoped she would be able to say the same after their second trip though.Kalos

Elfana Aroway Her opinion of Cyllage hadn't approved in the slightest. She wanted to be done with the town. Elfana walked along in silence, the Vulpix in her arms studying their surroundings with indifference. He appeared to be as thrilled by Cyllage as Elfana was. Neither of them would have complained if Walter had decided to Teleport them. The Alakazam would do no such thing however. They had spent far too much of the trip Teleporting from place to place. Elfana was going to walk like a normal person for a while. Despite being forced to walk, Elfana made it through Cyllage City in record time. With any luck it would be the last time they had to visit it. She was almost looking forward to the next town. The bar was already set as low as it could get. All it had to do was not trip over it. They hooked back up with the dragons, who were just waking up about the time Kira and Lucy were finishing their breakfast. They were ready to go after a good rest, and Kira was glad to hear that because it was finally time to get out of Unova entirely. They took off at the crack of dawn and ended up over the open ocean not long after. Her dragons may still be a bit young, but they were strong. They could fly for long distances without any trouble. Kira just hoped to avoid any storms because not all of her dragons were resilient when it came to water.
If Flygon, for example, ended up in the ocean, it would be potentially fatal. So when she saw storm clouds in the distance, they took a longer yet safer route. There was no sign of Lunala, so Kira decided the best course of action would be to carry on about her business. Eventually they were back where they'd been before getting diverted by the Legendary.  It was a rough journey but the group safely made it through the caves, adding one more member to their little family in the process. Nagumi's original trainer was nowhere to be seen as they exited the caves, which annoyed Roma seeing as she had been hoping to give him a word or two about his rotten behavior. Oh well, at least Nagumi didn't have to see him again after his rotten treatment of her, and that was what mattered.
The group headed straight for the gym after entering the city, their hopes high as they followed the directions a kind woman had given them. Roma was forced to go back to riding Buck as the trail to the gym steepened considerably, but the group made it to the grand opening in the mountain without incident.
Upon entering the gym, Roma returned her pokemon to their pokeballs and was amazed by the layout of the cavern-like building. However she wasn't blind to the huge rock climbing wall as she entered the room, a foreboding obstacle for someone her age. However, a gym trainer was waiting for her first. The wall would have to wait. Gym Trainer Bernard sent out Lvl. 20 Rhyhorn! Roma sent out Sunshine! Rhyhorn used Horn Attack! -65 Sunshine used Aura Sphere! Rhyhorn took 160 Damage! Roma healed up Sunshine before she was led over to the rock wall and fitted into a harness a little reluctantly. She could tell by his expression that the gym trainer was worried about all this, but Roma was too stubborn to let her age weigh her down. Spectra had decided to climb with her, suited up with an adorable smaller harness beside Roma. Spectra had never looked cuter, but Roma was aware that the Charmander also seemed worried. She hated worrying others, but she was determined to not take any short-cuts because of her age either, so up they went.
It was a painfully slow process, and more than once Roma slipped and dangled by the harness. However her stubbornness propelled her foreword, and after a little learning she finally seemed to get the hang of it. Although her arms were shaking by the time she made it do the top, she did so with dignity. Grant was waiting at the top for her, but she needed to sit down on the ground for a few moments to catch her breath before she could greet him. Spectra seemed to be in a much better state despite her small arms making the climb difficult, but the Charmander plopped down beside Roma regardless and leaned into her lovingly.
They waited for Roma to get her breath back before lowering her down and heading back to the battlefield where Roma found a chair waiting for her. Normally she would be too stubborn to sit in one during a battle, but she was too exhausted to care and sat down gratefully. Finally, it was time for their second gym battle! Gym Leader Grant sent out Lvl. 25 Amaura! Roma sent out Sunshine! Amaura used Aurora Beam! -55 Sunshine's attack was lowered one stage! Sunshine used Aura Sphere! Amaura took 288 Damage! MochaAll things considered, Grant didn't doubt for a minute that his older opponent would be a formidable challenger for his gym. If there was anything that Pokemon training taught him, especially working with durable rock types and ancient fossils, it was that age could only mean experience, wisdom, and a tenacity that could hardly be matched. The older woman was no exception as she had not only climbed the rock wall of her own volition, but defeated his Pokemon swiftly with her clear understanding of working with type advantage. His Amaura and Tyrunt both fell quickly with well placed attacks, and he returned his Pokemon with a smile to face his challenger.
"We didn't stand a chance, you definitely have the experience of a well seasoned trainer," Grant commented, moving then to meet his challenger so she could keep resting in her chair though if she needed.
"It was a fun time for sure, and your Pokemon have what it takes to go far, so don't loose that rock steady tenacity, yeah? I can't wait to see how you guys progress," he smiled, handing his badge to the older woman as he'd made it to her chair.
"Take your time if you need it? And there's a ramp and stairs that go down the back of the wall here, that way you can make it down alright," he offered, the same that he did for all of his challengers since rock climbing wasn't necessarily everyone's forte on a given day.

Cyllage wasn't massive, but it seemed steeper than other mountain-adjusted cities. And it was marked by a racing track for bikers of all things. If his leg wasn't still a pain in the ass, he might had drive through it on a said bike - but for now he focused on finding the Pokemon Center. Or rather, letting his twin guide him towards it, since Fabian already been here before.
He just now realized how much his brother actually knew about Kalos. Vale was familiar with only Shalour and Lumiose, since until now he wasn't traveling that much around for badges or Pokemon-related experience. He stared at the PokeBall for a moment, before his attention snapping towards Fabian. His phone rang all of sudden, and his twin excused himself to the bathroom. He fought down an urge to eavesdrop, but... it was his own twin brother, he wouldn't do that to him, no matter how curious he was and how much he didn't like when he hid something from him. But, to be fair, Vale also hid stuff from him.
Not wanting to tempt fate, he left the room and walked downstairs and then outside. It was a rather nice day, and they made it through the cave quite fast - it wasn't even 12pm. He wasn't quite hungry yet, and he could assume that neither was his brother or their Pokemons. He wasn't sure about challenging the gym right away, although that could save time. For now he could at least focus on some training - and it would be a good moment to check on Yamask. Well, she was a ghost that was stuck in a place far from her region, so maybe that's why?
Just outside the Pokemon Center some young trainer asked him for a battle - she is quite sure she won't be able to take on Grant, but a training wouldn't hurt. He needed to train a little too, so he agreed. And.. well, she was correct - her team was mostly Bug-types, which was a poor combination for a Rock gym. Although her Crustle was giving him trouble, the fight really highlighted something odd about Marigold - she was uncertain about fighting and her powers, hesitatingly using the Shadow Ball agains the Shedinja and she didn't seem to be that willing to cooperate with him either. It was strange, but Vale would be more surprised if every Pokemon he get will listen to him from get-go. Maybe she needed time to warm up.

As he was healing his team, Fabian caught up to him. That talk must had took long, and he didn't seem.. too good. "Are you okay? Who was it?"
His twin winced and then crossed his arms defensively. "Does that matter? It's nothing serious."
"Well, you sure as hell don't look like 'it's nothing serious'-" he started, looking at him with a mix of worry and confusion. Well, neither of them were very open about their problems, but they were supposed to be working on it.
"Focus on your gym battle, then on my problems." his twin snapped harshly, making him flinch and take a step back. Fabian was more explosive than him, and it wasn't a rarity to see him snap like this, but.. it still caught him off guard.
He must had noticed Vale's reaction, because his shoulder slumped and his expression softened. "I- Look, I'm sorry. But I really don't want to talk about it now."
That didn't ease his feeling, but he could tell that his brother really didn't want to talk about it - whatever that was, must been serious. He nodded, albeit unwillingly. "Alright.. sorry."
Not wanting to waste more time or make things more awkward, he tilted his head. "Could you tell me where the gym is? It's quite early and nice."
"Oh, yeah. It's a bit away from the city, actually. Built into the cliff." his twin started explaining as he led him further into the city. "The entrance is pretty high too, on a steep slope, but I can borrow you my Gogoat for this. The gym trainer is always waiting just beyond the doors, mostly because Grant is on the higher level and they have to help you get ready to scale the wall."
"Man, this is some complicated bullshit." Vale complained as they walked further. The buildings were getting scarcer as they approached the mountains, towering over the city.
"Korrina's gym is one big roller ring. Here at least you cal use Swoobat for better stability." Fabian pointed out, with a not-so-happy tone.
"I hate this." he groaned as they reached the.. slope? Steep way up? Something like that.
"Well, I did told you to wait longer." his twin snorted, and he nudged him in annoyance. His snark wasn't really helping, but Fabian did withdrew his Gogoat and showed him on her back. "Just be careful and listen to what the gym trainer have to tell you. Don't pretend to be perfectly healthy, it won't help."
He really wants to argue, but he grabs Gogoat's horns and then she begins her ascent. Those Pokemons are, after all, made for such rough and steep terrain, and it wasn't a surprise when they made it up there in basically no time or problem. But he didn't like the way he was so high up, and now steep it all was, and how it was easy to slip and fell and-
His grasp on Gogoat's horns tighten and he doesn't want to let her go. He can tell that the Pokemon is confused, but she can't really do anything about it. It took him a long moment, before breathing out shakily and leaving her back. Thankfully the entrance.. wasn't really a door, but an archway carved out. Well, that was weird and all, but he wasn't going to complain and shakily walked through it.
With everything that was going on in with the gym, he probably shouldn't be surprised by how it looked, but.. he was. It was just a huge cave, craved into a mountain. And, indeed, there was a tall wall, that seemed designated for climbing. He inhaled sharply, and looked around - Fabian assumed him that there will be a gym trainer waiting. And eventually he did spotted one walking towards him. He looked like a normal hiker.
"Greetings, challenger!" the man said loudly, probably to also alert the gym leader. His voice boomed through the cave, thanks to the echo. "I apologize if that was too loud."
"No, it's fine." he said, blinking. Well, that was loud, but what could he do about it? "Before we fight, I need to ask.. Can I use a Pokemon to help me climb? I can't really put too much weight on my left leg still."
The man eyed him and tapped his chin with a loud hum. "In that case this is allowed, as long they won't carry you up there completely. If it's a Psychic type to stabilize you, then I don't see a problem, and neither should Grant. He is an understanding leader."
Vale breathed out. He could see it still not being easy, but at least it wasn't Korrina's gym still. Until that his leg should get a lot better. "Alright, thanks you."
Bernard nodded at him to take the position on the battlefield (apparently there was one, where they were standing), and he walked away to take his position. He looked down at the ground, trying to distinguish the lines and signs, and got to the right place, and withdrew a PokeBall, waiting for his opponent.
"Rhyhorn! Go get it, girl!" his opponent send out a sturdy, gray Pokemon. He remembered that Rhyhorn races were a thing, although they weren't as popular ride choices as Gogoats were.
"Alright Cliff, now is your chance!" Marshtop had a poor luck when it came to gym battles - he lost both tries, but now he could do well.. hopefully. "Attack with Dynamic Punch!"
"Hit him back with Horn Attack!" Bernard ordered, but his Pokemon was sadly much slower. While her horn could have done serious damage to Cliff even on its own, his weird, fishy fist was now powered up and durable, and it hit her.. pretty hard. Marshtomp bounced back off his opponent, who was pushed back harshly and shuddered, before falling onto her side, unable to continue. "Oh, man. That was quick!"
Vale was partially afraid the battle with Grant will go as fast, but maybe not? Defeating a gym trainer barely meant anything, even though it was a good experience for his Pokemons.
