 "A traditional city."
North of Aquacorde Town is another larger community, a city and thriving metropolis compared to Aquacorde Town. Santalune City in south eastern Kalos is the first major city that any beginning trainer will travel to in their first exploits in the Kalos region. It too, like most towns in southern Kalos, is lined with an expertly crafted cobblestone fence that keeps the city clean and organized with its old fashioned style. While stone walkways and old timey lanterns can be common in some parts of Kalos, Santalune City is always regarded for its traditional style compared to much of Kalos. Wrought iron fences, beautiful rose bushes lining the inside of the wall, terrace style buildings and simple gray marble walls, everything about Santalune City shouts tradition, but also screams for welcoming and hospitality from its residents. Much like Aquacorde Town, there are a number of outside sitting areas in Santalune City where trainers and Pokemon converse with each other, and even start to take bloom in asking each other for battles to start broadening their horizons as a trainer, likewise many who train water types like to remain around the city's enormous central square fountain to let their water types have a little fun in the sun. All of this activity is promptly due to Santalune City being the first city in Kalos that harbors a gym.
{ Santalune City Gym (Click)}Viola is the official Gym Leader of Santalune City's Gym. She specializes in Bug-type Pokémon. She gives the Bug Badge to Trainers who defeat her. Viola not only specializes in Bug Types, she is one of the world's very few Bug Type Experts, as is the only female expert in her field unfortunately. Her fascination for Bug types started at a very young age, which lead her to explore them, take pictures, and study various Bug Types she could find, while her sister Alexia helped take notes. This continued on until both were off on their journey, both doing more writing and studying then they did battles. Over time Viola began to get well known for her small discoveries here and there, and soon enough she applied to be Santalune's Gym Leader. She was hired on rather quickly, and settled into the Gym very nicely. Viola now spends most of her time in her Gym, but she passes the time by doing photo shoots with her Pokemon, and willing wild Pokemon about Kalos when she has time. Viola's gym fits nicely in the City, at least on the outside. The building on the outside is rather grand, and a rather elegant shade of green, much like the rest of Santalune. The building is surrounded by trees and shrubbery that seems to be tended to very regularly. The sidewalk leads up to the front doors, which is covered by a small verandah, held up by two small pillars. Once inside, the entryway opens up to a small white room that appears to be a gallery with beautiful photographs of Bug Pokemon, with the occasional other types of Pokemon as well. The pictures range in various sizes that take up all of the side walls, and the wall in the center of the room, which seems to be there just for more art to be hung on. All of which are changed out monthly, and sometimes weekly for the more recent photographs from Viola and featured photographers. Though, behind the wall in the center of the room is a doorway, labeled "Gym." which when opened, leads to a dimly lit stairway. When followed down, It leads to a very different and almost unbelievable room, contrary to what the sign says, is definitely not a gym. The stairs lead to a ledge that drops off to a nicely padded floor, with a ladder leading back up to the beginning ledge. On the far side of the large room room is a door, about ten feet off of the ground. The only way to reach the door, is to walk across the rather large web that stretched across the room. The room is built to make it look like the trainers and Pokemon were the size of a small bug, making it's way across a web, where the walls are decorated to look like very large plants and trees. The web itself, isn't sticky, but it is springy and can be bouncy. It's constantly being repaired and watched by it's makers, many Ariados, Caterpie, and other bug types that made their homes in the large plants, though they usually leave the Trainers alone. The floor is completely padded for the safety of the trainers and Pokemon that might fall, but Viola will not battle someone if they can't make it across her unique tightrope. After making it across, the door opens up to a rather large room, with a flat open battle field. But Amma was much more preoccupied. She seemed to not hear Ridley's comment as she frantically looked around and began to speak. "Ridley, we need to leave, ya hear? Nah go on back through at door, and back to that young man Copper. It's not save here/" She told Ridley, but the blonde didn't move. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm here to get rid of that piece of shit, if I have to kill him myself." She told Amma, shifting her weight, and glancing down into the lower half of the Mausoleum. Before Amma could reply, shouting could be heard on the other side of the room. They turned their attentions to the voices, and it was Raphiel and his crew, including the Gengar butler that attacked them in the attic. They seemed to be running from Raphiel, as he strangled the mismagius, that was the weird maid at the table before. Ridley looked over Amma, her own mismagius with wide eyes. How could he even do that? It looked like he was actually hurting the ghost... He finally noticed them, and began to talk about getting dealt with and added to the collection, like hell. But soon enough the walls began to shake, and erupt with bodies. Not only that, some of the stones began to quake. Ridley began to step away from the walls in horror. She had seen many things, but this was something else. Suddenly one of the stones in the floor gave way, and a hand reached out and grabbed Ridley's ankle. Ridley let out a blood curdling scream as she began to frantically pull back, only to fall backwards and over the ledge. She hit the water with a loud splash, and was only underwater for seconds, before she erupted from the flooded area and let out a loud scream of anger and fear. Ridley ripped the now useless copper wig off her head, and looked around as her wet platinum blonde hair poured out. She began to wade through the water, and get to the stair way and get back to the area with the trainers, that was erupting into battle above her. But before she could reach the stairs, her heel caught on something and she went under once more. Ridley yanked it free and resurfaced, only to see a very water logged hand float to the surface. Ridley stared at it for a moment. She only had a second to react before the waters blew up zombies of their own. Ridley let out another scream, as she began to scramble away from the bodies that were making their ways to her. This wasn't just messed up.. It was disgusting and sick. She began to feel the hands grab all over her under the water, trying to pull her into the watery graves with them and drown her. She continued to shriek and tried to hit all of the attacker off of her. She pressed back up against the far wall, only to get cornered by the many zombies. She couldn't fight her way through this one. She continued to fight with all her might as the grips on her legs and torso got stronger. Her eyes began to water as she hands began to yank her deeper into the waters until she were down to her neck. She took in one more gasp of air as she was pulled under the foggy water. The water burned her eyes, but she continued to pull and struggle under the waters. This was it, this was how she was going to die. It wasn't at the hand of her grandfather, or uncle who was still tracking her, or at the hand of some shady guy in an ally way be hind a club. It was some crazy lunatic with a bunch of ghosts and zombies... She looked upwards, and saw the water above her light up, as fire began to dance around just above the waters, and a black blur whirled around. Amma! Ridley pulled a hand free and held it out and just above the water, luckily, Amma recognized her sharp red nails, and whisked over. Amma grabbed Ridley, and began to lift her out of the water, blasting the undead off of her with her gem. Ridley gasped for air and she struggled to help Amma get the undead off of her. Once lifted back onto the ledge, Ridley let herself land sitting on the ground, shivering inside Finn's soaked coat. Ridley let out Delphine and began to pull the Braixen into the coat for warmth as the battle against a white hand began. Attacks were flying, and soon Amma joined the battle and started throwing her own punches as Ridley and Del sat back and watched everything. Ridley couldn't believe all that she saw. She got back on her feet as she began to dodge the massive attacks that the disgusting hand began to through, sending Pokemon flying left and right. Everything slowly began to come to a close after a round of attacks hit. Raphiel ordered an attack on all battlers, not just Pokemon but all of the trainers as well. Ridley took a step back and grimaced, waiting for another attack, but nothing came. Ridley watched the hand waver in the air, only to fall into the waters. Ridley looked back to Raphiel as he spoke. He didn't look happy or amused anymore. He looked pissed off, completely malicious. Ridley dropped Delphine so she landed on her feet and began to back up, pulling the fox with her, as Amma whirled around in the air and ended up in front of Ridley. For such an old ghost, she sure had a lot of fight in her. Ridley just hoped the old bat had enough fight left. What ever Raphiel had to throw at them, Ridley was scared to find out. She blonde looked across the area to Boyfriend, Finn, and then back to Raphiel. The man held out his arms just as a loud cracking sound echoed above them. Ridley looked up. "He's bringing down the Mausoleum! He's going to bury us!" Ridley shouted as she began to move for the coffin door. "No, he's not doing it. The room isn't strong enough and he's lost his power." She spoke. Both Ridley and Del stopped to look back and saw Raphiel and his staff starting to get mobbed by his 'collection', which caused Ridley to grin. They were getting their vengeance. but that quickly disappeared as the glass shattered, letting in the wind again, and the water drained from the flooded area. She watched in horror as the platformed area began to sink and crumble into the ground, pulling Raphiel and his five Pokemon staff with him, and all of the undead. He let out one last call, promising that wasn't the end. So clique. But it still sent a shiver down her spine.[/spoiler] With Raphiel and his team gone, Ridley believed her job was done. She got her vengeance. Only now... She needed to escape the island. The roof rumbled above them as the floors began to split and crumble. Ridley made a break for it with Del. She didn't care how much she ached, she was getting out alive. She began to run for the coffin, only to have it crushed under a massive boulder. Ridley recoiled, grabbing Del and looked around to Amma. "We're trapped!" she cried, looking around at all of the other trainers. She reached back for Rhonda's Pokeball, her Rhypeiror, only to hear a loud popping sound. It was Lorelei's Jynx. They explained the Mansion was all coming down and they could leave now. Ridley was ready to take the plunge and get teleported out until something caught her eye. Someone familiar. Hot Rod. Copper. Her blind friend from before, if she could call him that. But she was worried. Her blind Hot Rod just teleported into a crumbling mausoleum with Lorelei. "What are you doing!?" Ridley shouted at him, though she were unsure if he could have heard her under the rubble crashing around them. Trainers and Pokemon began to disappear, as the ground around them split open and began to sink into the ground as well. Amma and Del began to panic as Del began to scramble to stay standing. Ridley began to move towards Copper when she heard Amma gasp behind her. She looked over and saw Amma frantically floating forward and above Copper, and then Ridley saw it. The roof above Copper and his seeing eye Jolteon was giving way. Amma began to press against it as Ridley took off running towards him. "Copper! Run!" Ridley yelled at him. Finn's wet jacket trailed behind her as her heels clicked loudly against the stone, or it would if the rumbling wasn't so loud. Copper seemed disoriented, or he just couldn't hear her. And just like that, Snap. The roof broke off slamming Amma downwards with it. Ridley had just gotten close enough to leap into the air, arms first to grab Copper and knock him out of the way. She grunted as her body made contact with his, and knocked him from his feet and into the air. Suddenly... Pop!. Silence. Ridley and Copper slammed into the stone pathways of Santalune's Town Square. Ridley cried out at the pain of landing, but kept her eyes shut as she kept her iron grip on Copper. She was too afraid to open her eyes and see if she survived or not. What forced her to open her eyes was another pop and the sudden screams of Del her Braixen. Ridley flinched and lifted her head to look in the direction of the screams, and saw Delphine panicking, letting out one last scream before clasping her paws over her snout, and staring wide eyed at Ridley, Copper and Amma. Delphine ran the short distance over to them and began to hug on Ridley, letting out cries of excitement that her trainer wasn't in fact squished. "We're fine Del, We're fine." she said, normally she'd push her off, keeping her unwanted affection at bay, but this time she held onto the fox, and embraced her for a few seconds before letting her go. Ridley looked down at the very flat mess of fabric laying on the ground next to her, as it slowly rose from the ground and untangled itself. "Glad to see you're alright, though you're looking a little flat." She said, not losing the opportunity to be insensitive, though it was clear that Ridley was very shaken up. Amma merely began to sift through her charms and trinkets. Ridley turned back to Copper and began to try and help him up. "Are you alright?" she asked him, looking him over, but once she got him back on his feet, her tone slightly changed. "Why did you teleport with her? You nearly got yourself and Sparky killed." she nagged, anger clear in her voice. Not only did he put himself in danger, and his Jolteon's, but he nearly got them all killed and for what? Ridley shook it over and began to look around, not really recognizing her surroundings... Lorelei said her Jynx would teleport them where they wanted to go.. but she didn't know where they were. " We need to find a Pokecenter, any ideas where we are?" she asked anyone who would answer, Amma or Copper, with his were seeing hearing thing. The sun wasn't up yet and she didn't know which way to start for the center. Boulder Badge =================================================================== {Previously (Click)}Standing there amidst the chaos and the anguish and all the torture that was happening around him, Abban could only keep his eyes on Copper's figure through the misting water and debris blowing around him. He'd watched, without knowing what to do, as Copper's pain ridden body had risen into the air, watched as he hit the ground and struggled to come to any sort of consciousness, and now he was watching what he could assume was his former teammate by now curled into Copper's body that laid almost lifeless on the ground. Abban was seething, furious, disgruntled, and every emotion inbetween being utterly upset at himself for losing control around Copper, knowing Ostinato was dead and lost to the monster Raphiel, and having Copper push and push until he was backed into a corner. Ever since he saw how helpless Copper was upstairs coming against that Gengar, his naievity to the world and what existed in it was pitiful, yes, but also reminded Abban of just how handicapped he actually was. That reminder though, of how fragile and sheltered he really was didn't seem to matter much as he'd thrust his power onto him in that moment of raw anger, and now, looking at Copper writhing on the ground in so much pain and anguish, knowing that he was part of the cause of some of it, he didn't know what to do. He couldn't imagine that Copper or Cassio would ever forgive him for what he'd done, knowing that that image of Ostinato would forever be imprinted into Copper's mind, his memory. Ridley was right... The first thing he'd ever seen in his life was going to give him nightmares for the rest of his life, and he was responsible for that. How was he supposed to come back from that, prove that he didn't want to really cause Copper so much pain? In the plainest sense, he was answering Copper's pleas, just out of anger and frustration at not knowing how to without having him shove everything back in his face, but his own power got the best of him, what he couldn't yet control, and he hurt Copper because of that. If only for right now, he was going to do what he could to help, unsure if there would be any getting out of this nightmare alive, but he couldn't just stand by idly and let that course take place. He wasn't sure if he would ever be able to recompense for what he'd done, but what mattered was the moment he was in.
With Ridley in tow, Calla came back to Copper on the ground who had Cassio curled up tight beside him, his fur dingy with dirt and grime and debris that was flying around them. Cassio in his state of unsuredness, fear, and pain barely paid Ridley any mind as she came closer to Copper's trembling figure on the floor, placing herself close to him to get him to come to. Tears still streamed down his dirtied face as his hands trembled, clutched to either side of his head though it didn't seem like he was trying to block out the noise any longer. He was trying to force that image of Ostinato from his mind, the very thing that had caused him to lose any control on the situation he thought he might have had, the very thing that would haunt him for the rest of his life. He didn't move as Ridley came towards him, placing a firm hand on his chest to try and get his attention, her voice barely coming through to him through his own want to block out everything from the outside and all of the wind and rain that was flying around them. In a single moment though, everything had gone from ugly to grotesque as the ceiling began to give out from a final bout of attacks, chandeliers falling and the roof caving in, causing Copper to curl in tighter on himself at all of the noise. Even if he opened his eyes, he wouldn't be able to see anything with how much was filling his senses, but Ridley was persistent beside him as she came in closer, trying to get through to him. Albeit reluctance, Copper couldn't help but listen to Ridley's words, her voice, the only thing that seemed to cut through everything that was going on around him. He wanted to open his eyes, to look up and see her figure sitting beside him, but he was so afraid that if he opened his eyes, he would only see that horrible image of Ostinato despite it being imprinted in his head, knowing that he never wanted to 'see' again, only now being able to equate everything in the world to that horrible broken image, so he didn't open his eyes despite knowing she was there, or maybe she wasn't after a moment, he couldn't feel her presence any more and felt empty and alone again even with Cassio's trembling figure beside him.
Through the rest of the torture that the ballroom had to go through with the trainers trapped inside fighting against their own nightmares, the end came as the leaders were defeated. Calla and Cassio stayed beside Copper, Calla only trying to help what was left of his will to get him to come back to them, but Abban still stayed out of their way, not knowing how he was supposed to help the situation any. He looked out though to the leaders who were waking from their trance and the Pokeballs that had started down the stairs, and one by one they began to open, revealing normal looking, and hopefull not dead, Pokemon. He searched frantically to find Ostinato, finding the giant otter off to the side, and despite the fresh wounds he'd received from being thrust into battle, the water type was alive and limping slowly with Abban back to where Copper was.
With a heal pulse from Nurse Joy's Chansey, Cassio, Abban, Stretto, and Ostinato were feeling better, if only slightly after going through what they had, and Cassio looked to find Ostinato sitting beside them, alive and well, almost. Cassio whimpered and nudged at Copper, trying to get him to come to before Calla tried to get through to him in hopes that he would at least hear her out. Copper in his hysteria and pain wasn't chancing on listening to Calla's words in spite of her insistence, but Cassio beside him was trying to nudge him up and he felt a familiar feeling of fur brushing over him as Ostinato leaned in closer to his trainer. Copper opened his eyes then, of course not being able to see much at all with all the noise going around and how much his ears were ringing, but he felt Ostinato beside him well enough to know that he was there. He hesitated though, only being able to see that horrible grotesque image of him in his mind, and was afraid of touching the otter, but before he had much more time to dwell on the fact, Copper was being approached by voices as Calla turned her attention to the Nurse Joy who was coming towards them, aiding anyone who had stayed behind in the ballroom.
Copper hadn't realized that Ridley was gone, and after Abban, Ostinato, and Calla were returned to their Pokeballs, he found out that she had gone to finish Raphiel with a group of trainers. Copper's heart sank at the knowledge, not wanting to know what kind of fate she could have going into a fight like that, and was not going to leave with the rescue boats until he knew she was alright.
Everyone else was gone by the time a lady came towards him and Cassio, both of whom had just enough strength mustered to stand, and was almost forcing him to leave until he shot back that he wasn't leaving without Ridley. Against her better judgement, Lorelei brought Copper with her as the blind teen and Cassio disappeared from the ballroom, and Copper would have liked to think that he would be able to see clearly for once not being in the midst of a hurricane, but he was sorely mistaken as over the sickness that came to him from what Lorelei had called teleportation, he was no longer being blinded by wind and rain and debris, but the sound of crumbling rock and sloshing water as the ground beneath his feet shook violently.
"What's happening," Copper shouted, looking around himself now in vain, not being able to see anything clearly as he clutched his hands over his ears. He felt Cassio beside him, the only thing he knew at that moment as rocks and stone began to fall around him, hitting him on their way down. He tried to move, not knowing if something else was going to hit him, but it was a hopeless effort as he had no idea what was going on or what to move out of the way of with all the noise.
"Cassio," Copper cried to the dog beside him who too was desperately trying to get out of the way of larger and larger rocks falling around them. Copper began to panic, but for reasons different than Cassio's panicking in not knowing how to get Copper to go where he needed him to. Cassio was whimpering, limping, unsure of what to do before his ear's perked at the sound of a faintly familiar voice. Cassio barked, hearing Ridley's voice, not caring right now if he liked her or not. She was the thing that Copper had come for, and he knew that she would be able to help him help Copper, but Cassio stopped as he watched the ghost float above them, the roof giving out over their heads. Cassio was frantic, grabbing on to Copper's pants and trying to drag him away, in any direction, even towards Ridley who was now running towards them, but Copper was insolent and didn't want to move in fear of not being able to see where he was going, ignoring what Cassio was trained for in his ever present persistence that he could take care of himself, and just when Cassio might have thought that they were done for, Ridley reached them and threw herself into Copper as the ghost had lost control overhead, but in the blink of an eye, there was silence, save for Copper's screams that came being grabbed at, and then a cry of pain as he hit the ground with his already bruised and bloodied back.
Despite his pain, Copper's only clear instinct at the time, after having been attacked by the Gengar, was to panic and fight against what was holding on to him as he struggled and trembled on the ground, but in his panic he felt skin, and arms, and felt a familiar weight on his chest. He coughed, but let out another scream at the shrieking that came from no where and felt something coming on top of him with fur. He might have thought it was Cassio were it not for the different texture of the fur, but in his trembling state he heard Ridley's voice above him, speaking to Del her Braixen.
"Ridley," Copper breathed finally, unable to ignore the instant reaction to grab on to her and hug her closer to him, having thought the worst just moments before after not being able to find her in the chaos he'd been brought into. Ridley got off of him just moments after, and before Copper could make any motion to get up in his pain he felt another weight coming on his chest, the sound of sniffing breaking through the silence around them as he felt breaths over his face. Tears stung at his eyes, and he couldn't know why out of everything that he was feeling as he placed a shaky hand on Cassio's head, moving then to hug around his companion.
"Cassio...," Copper let out, listening to the small whimpers that came from the dog, hugging around him tighter. They stayed there for a moment before Copper attempted to sit up, wincing and gritting his teeth at the pain that covered his body. Just above him though came Ridley's voice, as she reached down to help him up, and Copper did stand though it was a struggle. He was met with kindness at first, but that quickly turned into anger as she questioned why he'd come with the lady named Lorelei, and in that instant he remembered the ground shaking beneath his feet, not being able to hear anything, everything little by little after his moment of finding Ridley and Cassio again came crashing down on him. He tried to keep himself standing up right as his legs trembled, and he attempted to hold back the sobs that caught in his throat as his eyes stung again with a fresh stream of tears that lightly started to fall down his face.
"I'm not ready for the real world," Copper choked out finally, the weight of it all coming down on him again all at once as he gripped the sides of his head, sinking to his knees beside Cassio who curled into Copper's side. If everything that he'd just experienced was part of the real world, there was no way in hell he was going to be able to keep going outside of the shelter of his home any longer.
"How was any of that supposed to be real," he struggled to say through gritted teeth, but his eyes flew open again at only being able to see that nauseating image of Ostinato. That happened, it was real, it had to be if he could see it as clear as he'd ever seen anything before, but he didn't know how it was real and the uncertainty of it was eating away at him, his resolve, all the integrity he thought he had in leaving his home in the first place.
"Ghosts, shadows... That ghost was taking my life... Possession, Ostinato was dead, I saw him, I actually saw him... None of that should exist," Copper seethed through the pain he was feeling both inside and out. He held there for a moment, trembling on the ground with his head clutched between his hands before he looked up at Ridley. At the moment that the stone was crashing down around him, or up in the attic when the floor was caving beneath their feet, she was his eyes when he couldn't see. He couldn't place it, couldn't explain why past his initial distaste for her he would be willing to trust her word, but the fact of the matter was, no one else that he knew in his life could ever know what happened over the course of that one hellish night. No one would ever be able to relate, to understand, except for Ridley.
"...Ridley... What happened...," he asked her finally in a voice broken and weak, but insistent all the same on getting any amount of footing to begin understanding, if only a little, what he had jut experienced. |

She was just trying to figure everything out for herself. She couldn't imagine him trying to figure it out while blind. Ridley shook her head at him. " I don't understand everything I saw either, but I do understand what happened in the ball room." she told him, taking a deep breath. All of it was fairly clear to her. They were tricked. Raphiel played a dirty move, but he was so alien he didn't get it. " When we were brought to his island, his Pokemon hypnotized us. We were tricked and made to believe all of that was wonderful and grand when it was all busted and rotten. It was all a trick. You saw Ostinaatoe, or what ever, dead because Raphiel and his Pokemon wanted you too. You're right, stuff like that isn't suppose to happen." she told him. Ridley tried to explain to the best of her abilities, but she wasn't sure how to even explain all of the real undead and the massive battle between them and that disgusting hand to herself, so maybe that was best left unsaid. " Our Pokemon were stolen and forced to believe the trick just like us, and forced to fight us. That's why we need to get moving and find a Pokecenter." She told him as she shifted her weight and let out a hiss as her aching and scrapped up legs began to sting again. " We aren't doing so hot either, Copper." She told him, but soon after, she felt a warm paw on her hip. Ridley looked down and saw Delphine pointing down the street. Ridley turned around, looking down the street to see Amma floating and waving them to follow. Ridley reached over and took Coppers arm. " Come on, We need to get to the Pokecenter before we get any worse, or before anyone sees us like this." she told him beginning to walk with him and guide him down the street, hopping Jessica and what ever his Pokemon was, was going to be fine, as well as her usual priority, no one seeing her looking as ugly as she did at that moment. There on the ground in a trembling, soaked, sobbing mess, Copper remained huddled on his knees beside Cassio in a feeble attempt to try and figure out what the hell just happened, or maybe even in an attempt to shrink away from the world now and disappear to never have to go through anything like that again, he wasn't sure. He wasn't sure that he'd be sure of anything in his life ever again after experiencing what he did, having never known such things to exist in the world, and that in itself horrified him. For really the first time in his life, he was afraid, truly and utterly afraid. Nevermind that he was scared as a child when the world was still dark to him, and never mind each time he tripped over something or something of the like, he was never afraid then, he never had to be. He believed so much that he was just like everyone else in the world save one hindrance, that he never needed to be afraid of something, that or, as he was coming to realize, his parents just did such a capital job at sheltering him that he never knew to be afraid of things in the world. All of this was coming to him at once, all of these realizations and the things he'd just experienced, and he wasn't sure how he was supposed to go on living knowing such things existed and could happen, or even if he could go on at all.
Beside him, Cassio shivered and cowered just as his trainer was, for what could be the same reasons that were causing Copper to breakdown. Living his life with Copper, knowing nothing but safety and vigilance and simplicity, he couldn't have fathomed that such nightmarish things existed. In the over ten years that he had been with Copper, he had always been able to stop him from getting hurt, but now in one night, he'd almost lost Copper more times than he would have ever liked to count. What good was he to Copper if he didn't know about these things in the world? What good was he if he couldn't stop them from happening, if he couldn't save Copper when he needed to? How was he supposed to continue to take care of Copper if these were the kinds of things that were going to happen to them now since they had left home? He knew they should have never left home in the first place, where he could keep him safe and out of harms way, where he had a good life and a home and a bed to sleep in every night. Now he was going to go home after not knowing how to cope with what he experienced and his parents were going to take him away because he couldn't keep Copper safe... He was going to end up losing him after all... But maybe it was for the better...
There was no telling how long it was going to take Copper to process everything he had seen, but his question to Ridley hung in the air around him until she looked down at him and tried her best to answer. And it was just as he should have expected, she didn't understand what happened either, and in the back of his mind he couldn't help but be disappointed since she always seemed so sure about everything that she did and experienced. She knew so much about the world that he didn't, he almost expected her to be able to give him a straight answer, but what she was making it sound like some kind of freak happenstance that should have never happened at all.
Before he could offer anything in response though, Ridley was helping him up by his arm and dragging him along the quiet city streets they had found themselves in, and he was quickly reminded of just how much of a beating he had taken over the course of the night. He was sore in places he couldn't recall ever being sore in before, and could feel multiple scs and scratches over most of his body after having fallen through the air vents. He was certain his back was one big bruise after falling to the floor like he had, and he couldn't know what condition his clothes were in, especially since he had lost his cape such a long time ago. Copper paused though, pulling back on Ridley's hand though to look back for Cassio who was forced upwards as well, and though he was in a great deal of pain, the dog made due limping beside Copper as he licked at his free hand, ensuring that he could press on the short ways that Amma was taking them.
"I don't understand... Why would anyone do what he did... How could anyone do what he did Ridley," Copper started again in a choked voice, still trying to grasp on to what had happened. Now it wasn't so much the what happened, there was no denying that what happened happened that night as much as he wanted to, now it was the why and how. Why would someone be so inhuman to do what Raphiel did? Why did he hate them so much to want to murder them and their Pokemon? How was he able to trick them all like Ridley had said? He could have never fathomed that anyone could be capable of such power... Or even have power at all... It was all something out of a horror story that should have only ever been a story... And it wasn't as though they deserved any of what had happened to them either, he was a good person, and he would have liked to think that nothing bad happened to good people...
"How are we supposed to go on Ridley," Copper asked again in his pained voice after a few moments more, walking through the silence of the early dawn.
"We can't just pretend nothing happened... What are we supposed to say to the Pokemon Center? No one is going to believe anything...," he continued through small tears that continued down his face as he followed behind her, much like a child it seemed like now, a child who was so scared he couldn't think or act on his own. Though one of his many nagging thoughts came to mind as he walked with her, having stayed in the ballroom with the leaders rather than went with Ridley through the corridor.
"Ridley.... What happened to him? Where did Raphiel go," he asked hesitantly, not knowing what came of him, and only hoping that he would never come back. |

Ridley was smart enough to return Del after the first mass friendly fire. But Delphine wasn't even sure if Cassio had a Pokeball to return to so that would explain that... "You're holding up pretty well Cassio..." she told him, not sure what else to say in their silence, meaning it as much of a compliment as she could. The four made their way slowly towards where Amma was directing them too. Normally Ridley would have already been there, even with how scd up her legs were, and how much her back was killing her, but she knew Copper and Cassio would be able to move much faster, she almost was grateful that she could take it a little easy. Copper broke the silence and asked about Raphiel and how he could do that. " He's a maniac. A maniac with strong Pokemon. Bad people do awful things when they have power like that." she told him, her usual smooth and sultry tone void and full of ice. Not only did she hate Raphiel for what she did to herself, and Jessica, but she hated her family's darker family she was forced to live with for over a year. They had just as deranged Pokemon as Raphiel did, just with smaller plans. Her family just wanted power. they wanted to make everyone around them suffer. Unlike Raphiel who wanted to really impact the world. " In the Mausoleum, he told us he wanted to collect us and our Pokemon. Like the invitation said, he wanted to collect the strongest trainers around. It was a sick obsession blown out of proportion by a deranged lunatic." she explained to him. She left out the part where the wicked man forced his 'collection' to stick around and attack for him. If she didn't already know, Copper further proved how different they were. He wanted to ask how they were going to keep going. Ridley looked at him almost as if he was crazy, which it was good he couldn't exactly see the look she was giving him. " We are going to continue like normal. What happened happened, and there isn't anything we can do about it. All we can do is get ourselves and Pokemon to get looked at and patched up." she told him in a matter of fact tone. There wasn't a question too it, Ridley knew they needed to get medical attention, and even if Ridley was going to have to carry him, they were going to get it. Ridley was use to just moving on and having to recover quickly, or trying to. With her family she had too. One of her more drastic experiences were when her aunt killed her boyfriend in high school by burning him alive. " Copper. one of the Nurse Joys was effected, and not only her, Gym Leaders and Elite Four members were hurt. If anything the Pokecenters ad Hospitals are going crazy right now. We aren't the only ones that went through that. There was like fifty people at that ball. I'm sure this Joy will believe us, and if not who cares? She'll fix us." Ridley explained to him. She knew he was probably still in shock and not seeing the bigger picture. It didn't matter if they went in and Joy didn't believe a word, Ridley wasn't planning on explaining every detail to the woman to begin with. They rounded the corner and met back up with Amma, now they were only a few yards from the lit up Pokecenter. He then asked about what happened to Raphiel. " Well, we all battled him. I think that's why the mansion was collapsing. But we made sure to end it all, and send that asshole and his Pokemon to hell where he belonged." She told him glad to have rid the world of him and his disgusting team. It didn't take them long before they got into the Pokecenter, which Ridley was pretty sure was quite the spectacle. Ridley walking into the Pokecenter in a once beautifully embroidered red dress, that now hung heavy and torn, dropping a jewel every so often. She had the leather jacket that was slightly to big for her, especially for her usual clothes, which hid the claw marks on her shoulder that she received from the dead in the flooded pit. Her legs were even more scd up from the air vents, and there were no hiding that, on top of that, is her wildly running make up, and mess of blonde hair. Along with the three others in just as bad shape of not worse. " Hey, Joy, we need some help here." she told her as they continued into the Pokecenter. Nurse Joy looked over, and her eyes widened, " Oh my goodness," she exclaimed under her breath. " Audino!" she called out as she got out from behind her desk to rush over and help. " We're hurt basically all over, and have a few hurt Pokemon." She told her. as Joy began to usher them into the back and towards the rooms that were identical to a hospital room, luckily the way they were sectioned, they had more then one bed. Where Copper wasn't expecting Ridley to not know how to explain everything that had happened, he almost should have expected her words to follow his question of moving on and otherwise. Ridley saw and interacted with the world in a way that Copper could never understand, and probably never would. Where he was scared for his life through the entirety of the night, she was furious, and angry, and was biting back with a confidence that should have been squandered during such horrid things. She was raised and grew up in a much different world than he did, and he wouldn't ever know if it was because he was hidden away from the world or if hers was just so radically different. If he hadn't been so sheltered, if he hadn't been born blind, would he be able to stare the world down like she does? He digressed, he couldn't play a what if game about his life. This was his life now, dealing with maniacs and Pokemon that are bent on collecting trainers and otherwise for some twistded, sadistic, inhuman obsession as Ridley had said. But he didn't know that he'd ever be able to just leave it at that, like she was willing to do. But if he sat down and really thought about it, thought about Ridley's words, there wasn't anything he could do about it... He didn't even really know what he wanted to do about it... He had why and a little bit of how, so what else was there besides for him to keep sniveling like a little kid for what sounded like no reason coming from Ridley...?
"...I... I guess you're right...," he said in a quiet response, at a loss of words really. It's not as though he could some how make it like that night had never happened, that Cassio had never gotten so hurt and Abban hadn't done what he had, but it happened, he couldn't deny that he was coming to understand. So if he was still alive, Cassio was still alive, Ostinato didn't really die, and they were out and away from that damned mansion... He supposed Ridley was right... He just hoped really that maybe one day in the future he won't be having nightmares about what happened and what he experienced...
As Ridley continued on about how big of a deal it was about who had actually been at the ball, Copper really only knew of Elesa that was there, trying not to remember her voice and the horrible horrible things she was saying to them. He guess he never really thought about that if there were gym leaders there, and they were the ones that Raphiel took, that this would all be public news by now... He supposed that was a good thing, he wasn't really ready to try and explain, or lie, to a nurse about what happened and why they were in the shape they were in.
Before Copper could offer much in response to what had happened to Raphiel, thankful as much as he could be that Ridley and the others had done away with him, they had made it to the center that this Amma had found for them, and almost immediately they gained the attention of the nurse that was there. Ridley gave her a quick status report, and soon they were being ushered through the center. Cassio down beside Copper was still limping behind him, whimpering lightlly every now and again at hitting a particularly tender spot in his walking, and Copper looked down to the dog beside him, leading him carefully along.
"It's alright Cassio, we're going to get help now," Copper spoke in a hoarse voice to the dog, hoping he could hold on just a little bit longer to get looked at. Now that they were in a slightly noisier area with walls to bounce sound off of and the nurse moving things around, Copper could see a bit more clearly now, clearly enough to make out what almost looked like a giant rectangle that Ridley was wearing. That's not what he recalled her wearing in the ballroom...
"Ridley, what are you wearing," he asked in confusion, reaching out to touch what he could see, feeling smooth leather beneath his fingers as they were lead into a room and each given a bed.
"Please, start undressing so we can make sure we get you all cleaned up, and if there's any extensive injuries we'll start on those right away," the nurse offered as she moved to the center of the room, taking a curtain in hand and dividing the room in two.
"We're going to be right back with all our necessary equipment, and Audino here will be taking your Pokemon," the nurse said as she excused herself, leaving the Audino who was holding out a tray to take any of the injured Pokemon for preliminary healing. Copper didn't hesitate relinquishing his Pokeballs to the Audino in hopes that Ostinato and Stretto were going to be alright, but Copper made no motion for Cassio to go along with the nurse Pokemon, nor did the dog make any motion either, staying beside Copper who sat on the edge of his bed. They couldn't bare to leave each other, especially in a time like this. Copper could never think of a time that he's been without Cassio since getting him, he couldn't let him go now... Surely the nurse could come and take care of him in here so he didn't have to go...
As Ridley had given off her Pokeballs, and Copper started to slowly but surely take off his damp and otherwise ruined clothes, he couldn't help but focus on the image of Ostinato that Abban had forced into his head... Aside from the grotesqueness of it, what he never could have imagined would have been happening... He saw for the first time in his life, he could see the finest cracks in the floor, the smallest debris moving through the air... He could see colors...
"Ridley...," Copper started in a questioning tone, though he hesitated to continue.
"...What... What color is Ostinato's fur," he asked finally, wondering what the name of the color that he had seen for the first time was despite his embarrassment on even asking the question. It was as if he were a four year old who was just learning what their colors were, but the fact of the matter was, he didn't know... He'd never seen color before. |

"It's a leather jacket." she commented, as she took a deep breath as she unzipped her dress and began to shimmy it off. " A friend of mine let me borrow it after I was knocked into a flooded part of the mansion." She told him, naturally the censored version. But the memory alone of all of the dead decaying hands all over her make her physically cringe. It was at that moment did she really get to see the damage she was in... She looked down at her now mostly bare body and was not greeted with the usual 'perfection' most of her body was covered in dirt and mud from the hurricane winds in the ballroom, and what ever else was in that water.. She had cuts and scs up and down her legs from sliding down the air ducts, and cuts from the glass. That wasn't what bothered her anymore, what bothered her were the scratch and claw marks on her legs and arms. Almost all in fours.. They were from Raphiel's collection. It was real, there was no doubt about it. And that terrified her. She slowly reacted for one of the deeper scratches with one of her chipped nails, just hoping it would disappear upon being touched, another illusion. But the pain not only caused her to hiss, but also sent a freezing chill through her body, as well as filled her eyes with tears of fear. Those bodies were real. Ridley had seen a lot messed up stuff, but never the living dead. Amma stayed silent, but moved forward, placing a hand on her shoulder to comfort, but only caused her to flinch and recoil. Ridley let out a shaky breath as she stepped out of her ruby heels and sat on the edge of the hospital bed, as she heard Copper's voice on the other side of the curtain. Ridley took a sharp breath and shook her head, trying to snap out of it. Fear and pain were for the weak and the ugly, she believed, and both if which, she was not. Ridley tried to act natural, and sound normal as she began to pull back her messy, and dripping blonde hair into a messy pony tail. " Yeah?" she asked him simply, but her voice faltered. He continued to ask his question which made her pause. What color was he? She looked at the curtain where his voice came from, and frowned her brows. " What?" she asked him her voice almost back to normal and full of confusion. It took her a second to realize why he asked. It was a given that everyone over the age of five knew their colors... at least for most. Copper was blind... and his douche-bag Delphox psychically showed him an image of his dead Samurott. A smile grew on her face at the thought before answering. " Ostinato's fur is a deep blue. Like water." She told him, as she began to pick up the light blue hospital gown and began to slide it on. " His underside is a lighter shade of blue, but his armor on his head and legs are a tan, which is a light yellowish color. Almost like sand on a beach." she explained. Doing the best she could with what she knew. How do you describe color? After dressed, Ridley looked down at herself, her now shapeless fully covered self. She scoffed. " You've got to be kidding me." she commented to herself as she began to start to bunch the gown up behind her around her waist area, just as there was a knock at the door. Nurse Joy. Thomas aimed Scyther's Pokeball up into a tree, recalling the Pokemon from below. He also recalled Fennekin and decided to move on. With the need to restore his new Pokemon, Thomas hurried towards the exit of the forest. He discovered a bustling community, a massive, thriving City that was much larger than anything he'd experienced in this Region yet. The very first thing Thomas noticed was the Trainers. There were so many of them. Some were having pleasant conversations, while just as many seemed to be pairing up and battling each other. "They must be training for a Gym battle, which means I must be in Santalune City." Thomas spoke, barely loud enough to hear himself. The first goal was to find the Pokemon Center. When he finally did so, Thomas was introduced to the Nurse. She took his Pokemon and told him to stay close. So, he sat in a chair, turning another chair around to kick his feet up. He folded his arms behind his head and closed his eyes, waiting for his Caterpie to be healed.

"Thank you for waiting so patiently!" Nurse Joy woke Thomas with a start. "Your Caterpie is fully healed." "Thank you, Miss." Thomas could be polite when need be, but he still preferred to avoid being around people whenever possible. Collecting his Caterpie's Pokeball, Thomas left the Pokemon Center, not completely sure where to go next. The decision was made for him as he's confronted by a young male Trainer. He'd barely made it ten feet out of the Center when the child cut into his path. "Hold it right there. I saw you in the Santalune Forest! You almost let a Caterpie beat you!" The Child had the nerve to start laughing at Thomas, who had to hold back the urge to hit the kid in his face. "You will be too easy to beat, but experience is experience." He pulled out a Pokeball, throwing it and unleashing his Magnemite. It was amusing to Thomas. He must have traveled half way across the planet, but the Pokemon he found here so far were the same as where he grew up. "Fine, but remember that you asked for it." Thomas sent out Caterpie first. "Caterpie?! The same Caterpie?! You've got to be joking!" The kid laughed again. "Magnemite, use Thundershock!" The enemy sent a shock of electricity at Caterpie. "Counter with String Shot!" Thomas ordered, and Caterpie sent multiple strings of webby string at Magnemite.
Magnemite used Thundershock! -30, 20/50. Caterpie was Paralyzed!
Caterpie used String Shot! Magnemite's speed fell!

Thomas knew that this would be it for Caterpie. The sparks around it's body told him it was paralyzed, and one more attack from Magnemite would finish the job. "Magnemite, Thundershock, one more time!" Just as Thomas predicted, Magnemite's attack left Caterpie unconscious. "Caterpie, return! Thank you, you did well. Take a rest." Thomas grinned at the Magnemite Trainer. "Go, Foxi!" Fennekin appeared from the Pokeball ready for a battle. "We have the advantage, so use Ember!" Fennekin's Ember attack hit Magnemite directly in it's body. Magnemite countered on the fly with Thundershock, not even waiting for it's Trainer's command. Tempers were rising.
Foxi used Ember! -60, 60/120.
Magnemite used Thundershock! -30, 20/50.

"Quick, let's finish this off with Ember!" Fennekin launched another blast of Ember at Magnemite, just as it was creating a Thundershock attack. Fennekin was faster though, blasting it out of the sky in a massive explosion as the two attacks connected. "We did it!" Fennekin jumped up into Thomas' arms, and Thomas sprayed it with some Potion.

Sighing in annoyance, Thomas turned right back around and made the two steps to return to the Pokemon Center. "Nurse Joy, could you please revive my Caterpie. Again." She gave him a lecture about being more careful, but Thomas ignored it entirely. He didn't need a lecture, it was out of his control. If Caterpie hadn't slowed down the Magnemite, it may have beaten them.
About twenty minutes later, Nurse Joy returned with his Caterpie's Pokeball, which Thomas quickly stored in his Trainer's belt. "Thanks." He offered before leaving yet again. This time, he made sure to look around and make sure no one was eyeing him like fresh meat. Fortunately any nearby starting Trainers had seen his battle earlier. His victory made some of them turn their gaze, but a couple of them really wanted to try their hand at him. Stronger Trainers meant more experience.

What good was it going to do him to continue to dwell on that night? It's not as though anyone other than Ridley would believe what happened if he continued to ramble on about the horrors he saw? He knew it wasn't going to be easy to get over, he could only imagine the nightmares that would haunt him for who knows how long, but he can't do anything about it now, so why continue to bring it up? With Cassio beside him who was sat on the ground in silence, licking at a few wounds on his legs in any attempt to start ridding himself of the events that just took place, Copper listened to Ridley's pause at his question. He could only imagine how peculiar it must sound to someone who, very likely, didn't ever know someone blind on more than just a passing level, how trivial. He wondered if he shouldn't have asked, if maybe she didn't care enough to give him an answer, but then it came. "Blue," he repeated quietly to himself, mulling over the word. Trying to grow up as normal as he could, it was not as though he lived in a world where color didn't exist to everyone else around him. He'd heard countless times people refer to colors around him, whether they were talking to him or not, so he knew the words, he just didn't know what they meant. But now, he could put a color to a name, despite the circumstances and the image in which he had to go off of. He'd heard the sky get called blue, and water like Ridley had said, but he could only fathom what else in the world he could now relate to this color. "What else is blue," Copper asked, though a groan came after as he stood from his edge of the bed, slipping on the garment that the nurse had provided him instead of his ruined, wet clothes. Moments later, a knock came, and Nurse Joy waited for any qualms before entering, a Wigglytuff coming up beside her with a tray full of an array of different healing implements. "If you are ready, we can begin getting you cleaned up. I have disinfectant that we need to apply to all of your open cuts before we can bandage them," the nurse began as she walked into the room, the Wigglytuff setting the tray down on a table just in front of the dividing curtain. "I think most of my cuts are on my arms and legs? And Cassio has some cuts too that need to be taken care of," Copper spoke up, part trying to help the nurse help him, but making sure that Cassio was going to get taken care of as the dog looked up slowly from his spot on the ground. "And after we do clean your cuts, as they are drying and setting in, if you have any sprains, or do think any muscle might have been hurt, we'll need to make sure to either apply ice, or a wrap," Nurse Joy said, giving a curt nod to Copper, and to the Wigglytuff who took some disinfectant for herself to help the boy, while Nurse Joy came to Ridley on the other side of the curtain. |

Having escaped the Beedrill by the skin of his teeth, Thomas was ready to get the Hell out of this wasp-infested forest. He stealthily snuck to the exit, making carefully sure to avoid any wild Pokemon along the way. He ran straight towards the Santalune City Gym. "I'm ready to fight the Gym Leader!" He called out, only to be corrected by a man standing near the entryway.
"You'll have to figure out the puzzle if you want to face her that badly! I'd be careful though, there may be hidden... traps along the way." He winked mysteriously, and Thomas felt only annoyance. This was far from a game to him, and the fact that he was expected to solve some stupid puzzle only annoyed him that much more.
He grumbled out something that sounded like 'f*ck off' as he slid down the pole and landed directly in the midst of a massive web. Keeping his balance proved a problem as the web bounced up and down with each movement he made. He wanted to command Fennekin to burn it all up, but he glanced down and wasn't sure just how far down it went.

Rather than reveal his mystery Pokemon at the Gym Leader, he wanted to know what he was working with before-hand. The opportunity presented itself in the form of some jerk-kid who revealed himself as 'David!' and demanded Thomas prove himself worthy to face Viola. "I hope you're ready, because I won't take it easy on you!" The kid sent out Ledyba, a Pokemon Thomas was actually familiar with from Johto. Did that mean this Gym used Bug-Type? Thomas certainly hoped so."Fine, guess it's my turn." Thomas threw out his Pokeball, His jaw literally dropped as a massive, floating Steel-Type materialized in front of him. He could only imagine the kid's expression, it was clear he was too stunned to shout out a move for his Pokemon, so Thomas took the opportunity. "Use Takedown!" The Metagross lunged at the tiny bug, essentially crushing it into the webbing. Thomas was confused as it looked like Metagross was injured, but remembered something his father once told him about something called recoil damage.
Thomas immediately used a Potion on Metagross, restoring it to full health before continuing on his hunt for Viola. Finally he found the correct path, climbing up onto a platform and coming face-to-face with the Gym Leader herself... at least he assumed it was her. "Please tell me I found the right strand..."Metagross used Takedown! -80

 Leader ViolaViola had been off on her own within her gym, taking pictures of her Surskit to test out a new camera she had just bought. Upon being notified about David's loss, she was almost happy. It wasn't that David had lost, but that meant it was a perfect chance to test out her new camera. That was one of her many quirks, she enjoyed taking photography of her battles, and she often features them in her art gallery if she has permission from the opponent. Viola began towards her platform with her surkit sliding along side her just as Thomas emerged from the tightrope room, hoping he found the right area. Viola smiled to him before speaking. "Yes, You've found the right place" she told him as she looked the teen over. He looked like a tough opponent, so she knew the battle was going to be fun. "I'm ready when ever you are," she told him kindly, letting him let out his Pokemon when he had made his decision. Thomas breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he was in the correct place. He observed the Surskit with suspicion. The way it moved was almost.. eerie, and he didn't trust it. It was quick, and Thomas had a strange suspicion that it was stronger than it's small form appeared. He thought carefully, strategy was key, and he wasn't sure what other Pokemon she had at her disposal. If this Pokemon was as quick as it's movements suggested, then Thomas would counter speed with speed. There was only one Pokemon he had that could match the quickness. "I choose you, Scyther!" The Pokemon appeared, angrily swiping it's blades against each other and preparing for the battle.

Leader ViolaViola watched Thomas size up her Pokemon, that was good, he was smart. She was excited to see what he had. Hoping he wasn't here to try and clean sweep her with a fenniken fresh from the Professors. The trainer did not disappoint. Out came a Scyther. A beautiful scyther to be exact. Viola's face lit up as she saw the Pokemon, and lifted her camera, taking a few snap shots of the Pokemon, capturing him rubbing and sharpening the blades against each other. She was a serious battler, and she did take it seriously, she was just going to multitask. "Such a tough looking Scyther, this is going to be a good battle." she spoke with a smile. Viola was one of the leading bug experts, and the leading female expert in her field, so if he was thinking it through, he was using his Syther's speed as an advantage, or at least to keep up with her Surskit. Smart. "Surskit, let's kick it off with Quick attack!" she began, as the Surskit began to quickly zip across the flat field towards the Scyther. The light bug type slid past the Scyther, only to leap up into the air and ram her body into the Scyther from behind, trying to avoid it's blades. She pushed off of the Pokemon, landing back on the ground and tried to zip away to ready for the attack.[Surskit used Quick Attack!] Surskit Lv: 13 HP: 110 Gender: Female Ability: Swift Swim- Boosts the Pokémon’s Speed by two stages in rain Bug Bite- 50 | If the target is holding a Berry, the user eats it and gains its effect Sweet Scent- Lowers the target's evasion by one stage Quick Attack- 30 | It is sure to strike first Bubble- 20 | Lowers target's speed by one stage {Remaining Pokemon (Click)} Vivillon Lv: 17 HP: 130 Gender: Female Ability: Shield Dust- Damaging moves used by the opponent will not have an additional effect Psybeam- 50 | 1/4 chance of confusion Poisonpowder- Poisons Foe Powder- 30 || Damages only to pokemon using fire type attacks Sleep Powder- Puts opponent to sleep {Battle Overview (Click)}[Viola let out Surskit]

Watching the Gym Leader's face light up almost made his heart lighten a bit, but he remembered that this was a serious battle. He was glad she was excited to see his Scyther, but he'd make her watch Scyther cut her Surskit to ribbons. Similar to how he took advantage of the kid's silence, she took advantage of his. Surskit danced gracefully around Scyther. Scyther kept cutting towards Surskit with his blades, but the Pokemon was just a tiny bit faster. Just fast enough to slip between Scyther's legs and strike his back. "You going to let that acorn push you around?" Thomas called out. "Use Leer!" Scyther glared at the Surskit, hoping to intimidate and put the Pokemon off of it's game. "Let's try and match it's speed with Quick Attack!" The two danced around a bit, testing each other's speed to see who would get the first strike.

Leader ViolaViola raised an eyebrow at the challenger's comment. Tough guy, huh? She'd just have to see. "She's definitely more then an acorn, you'll see." she began, watching the Scyther leer. Viola refrained from getting a picture of the Scyther leering. She enjoyed capturing the beauty of Pokemon, and the beauty they create, even in battle. She didn't want to capture the Pokemon looking angry, or almost hateful. He called out for a quick attack, with it seemed she was right about him, he was smart, just maybe he was a bit more aggressive then she'd expect. "Quick dodge his attacks, and dish another Quick attack!" She called out, as the Surskit began to slid and zip around the floor with the Scyther chasing after her. Almost as if it were some quick, and aggressive dance. Viola couldn't help but snap quite a few pictures of their dance together. But it seemed that Surskit's moves were faster. Scyther and Surskit performed quite an amusing dance for their Trainers, adding a bit of flair to their battle. Surskit zipped suddenly to the side, catching Scyther off guard and slamming into his side. Scyther's momentum was cut off, and he stumbled sideways, nearly falling flat on his face before correcting himself and diving head-first into Surskit, using surprise to his advantage to finally land his first hit. "Alright, try building up your speed again!" Scyther was tired, and hurting now. Breathing heavily, Scyther tried running to build up the same speed it had before.

Leader ViolaViola was capturing everything, the Pokemon were dancing so elegantly, and Viola captured it all with her camera. But soon enough, Scyther struck back, sending Surskit flying. The little water bug soared through the air, but landed back on it's dainty feet, how ever it still slid backwards a few feet before regaining it's control. She was right, this Scyther was a tough one, and strong too. But Viola wasn't worried. She watched as the Scyther began to build up speed, which was perfect for another show. "Surskit, get back in there and start that dance again. Give us another Quick attack" she called out. She could tell that Scyther was getting tired, so she began to be more sparse with her pictures, watching to capture him at his best strength. Surskit slid around once more, beginning their dance that was mixed with a flurry of attacks. Though, like most dances they end. Surskit took it's chance and attacked the other bug, knocking him out. The dance was over before Thomas realized, Scyther had been out-sped. "You did great, return!" He had to think up the next step of his strategy. He knew that Fennekin would have the advantage as far as type, but this Surskit was far faster than Foxi. He thought, and thought, until finally deciding on his next step. "Go, Metagross!" The mammoth of a Pokemon erupted from it's Pokeball, staring the tiny bug down. "Alright, Surskit is quick... you need to use Takedown until you hit it." Metagross responded by blasting forward, trying to hit Surskit. |
