Moving closer to the central Sinnoh area where mountain terrain begins to take over due to Mt. Coronet dividing the region in two, mountain and cave begin to take over most of the landscape moving further east. East of Jubilife City, small mountains can be seen in the distance, and these mountains separate the path between Jubilife and Oreburgh City. However, many years ago a cave was carved into the very heart of these mountains to allow easier passage between the two cities, which has now been come to be called the Oreburgh gate. It is a small cave that spans it's length through the mountain to allow passge underground, where only a few other tunnels remain around it from other construction endeavors that were called off, or even some over zealous trainers who might have thought they could reach the same ore that the Oreburgh mine to the east is famous for.

Elfana Aroway The small cave passage wasn't as intimidating as she had expected it to be. She even felt safe enough to let Pantalaimon walk along with her. The Turtwig enjoyed his newfound freedom, running ahead a couple of feet before returning to her side. He bounced in place every time she would stop to let him examine a fun looking rock or whatever else had caught his attention. It was during one of these stops that she encountered the Zubat she had been looking for. She didn't want to risk startling the Pokemon so she kept quiet until she had directed Kiro's attention towards it. The Croagunk stared at the oblivious bat, letting some poisonous spit build up in his mouth. One moment the Zubat was flying along through the cave without a care in the world and the next it was knocked out of the air by Kiro's Gunk Shot. The Zubat didn't know what hit it. It fell out of the air and on to the rocky cave ground. When it didn't get back up Elfana realized it was unconscious. She grabbed a Pokeball from her bag and tossed it at the Zubat. The Pokeball shook several times before a small 'ding!' sounded. She had caught the Zubat. Elfana smiled as she retrieved the Pokeball, letting out a small squeaky sound that was probably the closest thing to a squeal anyone would hear from her. She kissed the Pokeball before putting it away. They would need to stop at the Pokemon Center in Oreburgh when they got there. "Good job, Kiro!" She praised the Croagunk, who gaze a lazy bow in response. He didn't know what she was thanking him for. The "Battle" had been entirely one-sided.
After catching the Zubat, she decided it was as good a time as any to stop for a short break. Pantalaimon was having fun exploring and they hadn't stopped for breakfast. The Turtwig could explore and they could enjoy a small snack before they continued on their way. She found a comfortable looking spot to sit down, watching while her Turtwig and Croagunk walked around together. Kiro wasn't letting Pantalaimon get too far on his own. The adorable Turtwig seemed like the type that would attract trouble to himself if they left him alone for too long.

Elfana Aroway After they ate, Elfana and Walter chatted quietly while Pantalaimon continued his exploration. They had all day to get to Oreburgh so she didn't feel a need to rush. She made it a point to make sure the area was exactly how it had been when they had arrived after their breakfast was finished. The cave was home to several different Pokemon. They were only passing through. Anyone uncivilized enough to leave a mess in someone else's home deserved to get lost in the tunnels as far as she was concerned. Elfana took Walter's hands in her own, slowly walking him through the same exercises he went through every single morning. He had regained some of the strength in his hands but he would likely never regain full use of them. The best they could hope was that they would be able to maintain their current state by repeating the exercises each morning. Someday she hoped to be able to fix them. It was why she had become a doctor in the first place. As impossible a dream as it felt like it was, she still held on to the hope that maybe someday she would be able to find a way for him to use his hands again. The Alakazam made it through the exercises without complaint. He made it a point to avoid expressing any sort of discomfort he might have felt. That would only upset her. "Is everything feeling alright?" She asked despite knowing he would just nod. There was always a chance that the answer might someday change. He, of course, nodded. "Everything feels fine." He was being honest. Today was a good day for him.
Pantalaimon ran over to the pair, attempting to climb up on to the rock with them. When he nearly fell back Elfana picked him up and set him in her lap. He curled up there and smiled. Focusing on the sweet Turtwig was a welcome change from her previous thoughts so Elfana gave him her full attention. "Did you have fun?" She asked, receiving a happy little "Turtwig!" in response. She rubbed his head and smiled softly. Kana's choice of Starter for her really had been the best one. She retrieved a small treat for him from her bag, offering him the bit of candy- which he didn't hesitate to eat up. He squealed after he finished munching on his treat and nuzzled her leg. "The first Gym features Rock Types." She mused while she petted his shell. That meant Pantalaimon would be her best bet of getting through it. She glanced down at the Turtwig and frowned. She wanted him to go through a couple of battles before she challenged the Gym. The cave was likely the best place for that. There was a chance they would run into a Rock Type there and Pantalaimon would be able to take it down. At least she had already anticipated spending the day in Oreburgh Gate. Her plans weren't changing any.Partners:

Elfana Aroway "I believe Pantalaimon should try battling some wild Pokemon before we take on the Gym." She voiced her thoughts to her Alakazam. "That would be for the best. We can't reasonably expect him to take on a gym without any experience." He replied, watching the Turtwig in her lap. A couple of practice battles would make the Gym easier for the Turtwig. Taking on a Gym could be daunting for such a small Pokemon. The Turtwig in question looked up when his name was mentioned, playfully sticking his tongue out at her. She chuckled and rubbed his head. He had no idea what was going on but he was happy to be included! She lifted him out of her lap, setting him down next to the spot she had been sitting in before she stood. "Were you taught anything about battling while you were with Professor Rowan?" Elfana asked the Turtwig. He tilted his head. "Turtwig?" The doctor sighed. She was going to take that as a no. The basics of battling felt like something every Starter should have learned but she wasn't going to question it more than she needed to. It wasn't worth the headache. "Okay. You are a Grass Type Pokemon. The Gym we are about to go to has Rock Type Pokemon. In a battle against a Rock Type Pokemon you would have to advantage." She tried to explain in as simple terms as she could manage. He tilted his head to the other side, smiling bright at his Trainer. "Did you understand any of that?" Pantalaimon continued to stare at her for several seconds before he nodded. He already knew most of what she was telling him but he was having fun listening to his trainer try to explain things for him. "Perfect." She patted his head while she retrieved her phone and began looking up the different Pokemon that had been sighted in the cave. "Geodude and Psyduck have been spotted here." Elfana bit her lower lip and hummed. Psyduck would work too but Geodude would be the ideal opponent. They were going to be taking on a bunch of Rock Types. Battling a Pokemon similar to the ones they would be encountering in the Gym would be more beneficial to the Turtwig. "Kiro!" She called to her Croagunk, who had wandered a little ways away. He croaked back at her. "We need to find a Geodude. Can you help us?" The Croagunk shrugged, hopping further down the path. She would have preferred that he remain close to her but she was sure her Croagunk would be alright on his own. "Okay. While he's searching the path ahead we are going to look around here. If you encounter a rock with a set of arms then you have found what we are looking for." She helped her Turtwig down from the rock, deciding to follow along behind him as he began searching. Kiro could be trusted to explore on by himself. Pantalaimon was much too cute for his own good. There was no doubt in her mind that he would get himself into trouble if they left him alone. Partners:

Elfana Aroway Pantalaimon led her down a tunnel leftover from what she assumed was old construction. He was focused on the ground, pausing occasionally to nudge a rock with his nose to see if it would move. None of them looked like the rock with arms that Elfana had described but that didn't mean they couldn't grow arms! Maybe Geodude pretended to be a normal pebble until it was booped by a curious Turtwig. He stopped when he encountered a puddle. The Turtwig watched his reflection, tilting his head back and forth. He giggled and splashed in the puddle with one of his feet. "Hi~!" Elfana knelt down beside him when the water settled, wondering what he had found so fascinating about the water. "The other Turtwig has a pretty Trainer too!" He squealed, standing on his back legs with one foot on her leg and while he wiggled his free foot at the puddle. She smiled softly and rubbed his shell. "I see." Pantalaimon splashed in the puddle one more time before running on ahead. Their search for a Geodude was not going well at all but at least he was having fun. By the time she caught up to him, her Turtwig had gone completely still. That was a first. She didn't think he was capable of not moving unless he was napping. "Pantalaimon? What's wrong?" Elfana frowned and went to retrieve her Turtwig. She didn't realize that something was off until she reached him. By then it was much too late. The ground beneath their feet began to shift and crack before giving out, sending both Turtwig and Trainer falling several feet before they landed in a crudely dug tunnel below. Elfana had just enough time to cry out before she hit the ground hard. She was very lucky that she didn't break anything, though the impact did knock her out temporarily. Pantalaimon was fortunate enough to have his fall broken by his Trainer. He landed on her back. The frightened Turtwig began to whine loudly, trying to nudge her awake. Somewhere up above he could hear the Croagunk and Alakazam calling out for them but they couldn't seem to find where they were. She needed to wake up! They had to find a way to get back up to the other tunnel!
Elfana had the worst headache when she finally regained consciousness. Pantalaimon had curled up next to her head and was licking her face between whimpers. "Shhh. Easy, baby. I'm awake." She murmured, hugging the Turtwig after she was able to sit up again. He whined and curled up against her, afraid that she would pass back out if he didn't give her enough nuzzles. Affection was supposed to make owies all better! He licked her arm and whined again. She needed to be okay since he gave her kisses. While Pantalaimon was determined to try to cure everything with affection, Elfana was examining the cut on her forehead. There was a bit of blood but nothing that screamed she was in immediate danger. At least her glasses were still in one piece...and she supposed it was nice the rest of her body was fine save for some cuts and bruises. A broken bone was preferable to her glasses being ruined. She gave herself all of five seconds to groan and be miserable before getting to her feet. "Walter! Kiro!" She tried calling up to her other Pokemon. Unfortunately it didn't seem like they had heard her. "Damn it." She muttered and sighed, looking around to try to get an idea of where they were. The tunnel was dark- the only real source of light being from the hole above them. There didn't appear to be an easy way to climb back up so they would need to find a different route. She retrieved her phone from her purse, hoping that it would still be in one piece. The screen was cracked but it was still functioning. She could use the light from it to help her navigate their way through whatever part of the cave they had just fallen into. "I never should have left my lab." She frowned, picking up her still upset Turtwig before heading further into the cave.Partners:

Elfana Aroway The light from her phone was just enough to illuminate a few feet in front of her. This wasn't exactly great but she would have to make it work. Pantalaimon was still upset. She did what she could to comfort her Turtwig, whispering to him to keep his mind off of the situation they were in. She talked a lot about her job back home and her lab. Had they not been trapped in a cave it might have been a good bonding experience for them. They had been walking through the cave for well over ten minutes, the Turtwig's little sniffles and whimpers slowly stopping when she had started to hum for him. She didn't feel much like singing at the moment so he would need to settle for her humming instead. The Turtwig was satisfied though. He closed his eyes and relaxed against her chest, focusing on the gentle song. Pantalaimon even started to smile until the song was interrupted by a sudden crunch beneath Elfana's heel. He was afraid that they were going to fall through the floor again until he heard the loud protests of the Geodude they had just disturbed. She hadn't been able to differentiate between the Pokemon and the ground in the dim light provided by her phone. The doctor narrowly avoided being headbutted by the angry Rock Type, stumbling back and nearly falling flat. "Y-you leave my Trainer alone!" Pantalaimon cried out, doing his best to sound intimidating despite having just spent several minutes crying. Elfana managed to keep her balance, holding tight to her Turtwig in order to avoid dropping him. When the Geodude tried to attack her again, several small green lights appeared from its body, floating in place for a second before being absorbed into her Turtwig. The Rock Type fainted immediately after. Pantalaimon stuck his tongue out at it. Elfana kissed the top of her Turtwig's head, right next to his twig. "Thank you." She would have to pay better attention to where she was going. That was not how she had hoped Pantalaimon's first battle would go but he had done well anyway. She whispered an apology to the unconscious Geodude before continuing on her path through the tunnel. After it slept for a bit she was sure the Pokemon would be fine. With any luck they would find their way back to the surface before they angered another Pokemon.

Elfana Aroway Elfana didn't get much further before she found herself being distracted by a soft squeaking somewhere up above her. She directed the light from her phone up towards the ceiling, revealing a several Zubat sleeping peacefully. The dim light made it difficult to tell exactly how many there were but she knew there were more than enough for her to be nervous about waking them. As cute as Zubat were, the last thing she needed right now was to be swarmed by them. She gestured for silence before proceeding on ahead as quietly as she could manage. This section of the cave clearly wasn't made by any sort of professional but she was glad to see that some Trainer's endeavor to dig an obnoxiously large hole had proven to be useful for something. The wild Pokemon in the area had turned it into their home. There had to be a path up to the surface somewhere. These Pokemon would have needed a way to get into the tunnel to begin with. Once they had passed the colony of Zubats, she decided it was safe to speak again. "Did you know Zubats navigate their surroundings through echolocation?" She asked her Turtwig. Pantalaimon looked up at her, seemingly trying to repeat the word. She let him babble for a moment before continuing. "They use the echoes of their cries to identify where objects are. What they lack in their ability to see they make up for by having amazing little ears." She pointed to the top of her head as if there were a little pair of Zubat ears sitting there. "That's why we had to be quiet." Her Zubat talk came to an end when she found herself staring at a wall a few feet in front of her. She looked around for another path, frowning when she realized there wasn't one. There did, however, appear to be a small opening to another section of the cave at the top of the wall. She sighed, sitting down against the wall while she considered what to do next. She could backtrack and hope to find another path near where they had fallen. If there wasn't one she would need to come back this way anyway though. If there was a path then they would be able to avoid trying to climb up the rock wall. She had no way of knowing what was through the hole at the top. What if it was a Pokemon's nest? Then she would be stuck up there with another angry Pokemon trying to attack her. She tried to look up above herself at the opening, though she was unable to see it from her current position on the ground. Considering it was the first "path" she had encountered that was going up towards the surface it felt like it would be worth the risk. She stood before realizing she had missed something very important. How was she going to get her Turtwig up there with her?Partners:

Elfana Aroway "This is my life now." She muttered to herself as she struggled to get a decent grip on part of the wall directly above her. She had already made a fair amount of progress towards the small opening. Her Turtwig was currently balanced on top of her head. He was clinging to her as well as Turtwig could and had her phone in his mouth, lighting up the new sections of the wall for her as she climbed. "Zubat evolves into a Pokemon called Golbat. It has a very large mouth and can be rather intimidating looking to some people." She decided to continue her previous talk about Zubat since Pantalaimon had started to shake as they got higher up off of the ground. "Golbat feeds off of the blood of Pokemon and people. After feeding its blood type will sometimes change to match the thing it had fed from." The Turtwig whined and nuzzled her hair. Golbat sounded scary. She chuckled even as one of her hands slipped. She tried to play the slip off as something she had done deliberately. Pantalaimon tilted his head add the odd choice of action but didn't panic so she assumed he wasn't questioning it. "Want to know something kinda neat about them?" Pantalaimon hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Golbat can evolve. Sometimes when a Golbat is traveling with a Trainer it will evolve into a Pokemon called Crobat." Pantalaimon tried to picture a Crobat. If Golbat is intimidating and ate other Pokemon then Crobat must be absolutely terrifying! He shudders. She laughed softly, a sound that made his smile return instantly. His Trainer's laugh was a nice sound! That didn't seem like something he would get to hear often. Elfana paused her lecture on Zubat and its evolutions as soon as they reached the hole. She grabbed Pantalaimon and set him down inside of it, making sure he was safe before climbing through it as well. She decided to lay on the ground and take a few seconds to rest. They did not appear to be in a nest so she felt like she could risk taking a short break.
"Crobat is a little bat with four wings. Due to its lack of legs it has to crawl everywhere in order to get around. It is really cute." She picked up where she had left off when Pantalaimon crawled on to her chest and snuggled up to her there. If she thought that Crobat was cute then he was willing to believe her- though he couldn't understand how something that could eat him could turn into something cute. "What do you think would cause a "scary" Pokemon like Golbat to evolve?" Pantalaimon whined and tried to hide his face against her. Golbat ate people and Pokemon so maybe it had to eat a bunch of things to evolve! That would be really scary. She rubbed his head and smiled softly. "Friendship. Golbat evolves into Crobat when it bonds with its Trainer." The Turtwig blinked and tilted his head. Something scary like Golbat evolved when it loved something? He couldn't help but smile. "That's so sweet~!" He squealed. Maybe Golbat wasn't such a scary Pokemon after all! How could anything that evolved because it loved something so much be scary? Elfana smiled and patted his shell. "We have a Zubat on our team. Someday he's going to be a Golbat." Pantalaimon wiggled against her excitedly. The Zubat would evolve into a Golbat and then it would turn into a Crobat immediately! How could it not? He was sure Zubat would like their Trainer every bit as much as he did. Elfana sat up, holding her Turtwig against herself so he wouldn't fall. Their break was over. They needed to keep moving. She stood, letting conversation about Zubat drop in favor of trying to figure out how close to the surface they were. They couldn't be too far now- she hoped.Partners:

Elfana Aroway 'I hope part of the tunnel collapsed on whatever inconsiderate asshole dug it.' Elfana thought to herself as she wandered through the cave, deciding against wishing the death of whoever had dug the tunnels out loud. Pantalaimon didn't need to hear her cursing their existence...but if they were going to try digging for ore they could have at least tried to dig in a straight line! There was no attempt made to make the tunnel neat. That bothered her more than anything. The Turtwig in her arms had dozed off, leaving her to navigate the cave maze alone. "Walter is never going to let me hear the end of this." She muttered, glancing down to make sure she hadn't disturbed the napping Pokemon. Pantalaimon nuzzled her chest but otherwise didn't look bothered by the irritated doctor. Another turn in the tunnel led her straight to...a dead end. "Perfect." She sighed, turning and heading back in the direction they had just come from. There was another path nearby. Maybe that one would prove to be more promising. "Maybe that's where the tunnel collapsed on them." Probably not but she was going to pretend it was. Some small, petty part of her wished nothing but the worst for whoever had dug the tunnel. They deserved to suffer for the inconvenience they had caused her. "If I die down here, I'm going to haunt them." She groaned and shook her head. She missed her lab. Could she go back to Unova yet? She turned down the alternate path, glad that nobody was around to see her pouting. Soon after starting down the new path, she could hear what sounded like water somewhere up ahead. Water was good. If nothing else it was something other than rocks to look at. With this in mind she began to make her way towards the sound. Partners:

Elfana Aroway By the time Elfana found the source of the water, she no longer needed her phone. She wasn't sure if her eyes had adjusted or if that particular area of the cave was somehow lighter than the rest. It probably didn't matter either way. She put her phone away when she found herself standing at the edge of a small pond. There was water flowing into it from a different section of the cave. She must have left the tunnels that had been dug by a person. This area appeared to be natural. She set Pantalaimon down at the water's edge, gently nudging him awake. He yawned and whined at her until he realized there was more water to play in. The Turtwig squealed and began to splash. She smiled, letting him play while she began to walk along the edge of the pond. All things considered, the view wasn't too bad. The pond was definitely the nicest thing she had come across so far since falling through that hole. This could be a good opportunity to explore. She had worked with some Rock Types in the past and had issues dealing with their usually hard forms. If she took some samples from the cave then perhaps she would be able to learn something from them that could make tending to the Rock Types easier for her. With this plan in mind and an excited smile on her face she knelt down to begin studying the rocks closest to the pond. Being able to do something related to her work had improved her mood. Instead of finding something worth taking back as a sample, she found herself face to face with a Psyduck. She stared at the Pokemon for a solid ten seconds before what she was looking at fully processed. As soon as it did, she cried out and fell back on to her rear. "What the hell?!" She knew Psyducks had been spotted in the cave but she hadn't been expecting to actually run into one! She quickly got to her feet and ran back to her Turtwig, wanting to put as much distance between herself and the Psyduck as she possibly could. She really hated birds.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Elfana shuddered when she reached her Turtwig. How had she completely missed a Psyduck? It was bright yellow! Pantalaimon was running in little circles around her feet, babbling up at her while he tried to figure out what had scared her so badly. Had she run into another scary rock monster? He would make that one go away too! She had just started to relax when she heard a small "Psy?" in the direction she had just come from. That wretched bird had followed her! The Turtwig at her feet stepped in front of her and waved one of his feet at the Psyduck. "Hi new friend~! Are you okay? Why are you holding your head like that?" His Trainer wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about the Psyduck. She dropped her purse in her struggle to scramble up on to a rock out of its reach, spilling the contents all over the cave floor. Psyduck was another Psychic bird just like Natu and Xatu and she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. "Pantalaimon! Use Absorb!" The Turtwig began to panic. Were they battling now? He didn't know that! Green lights erupted from the Psyduck's body and were rapidly absorbed into the Turtwig's. "I'm sorry, new friend!" He whined. He didn't want to battle the Psyduck! It looked like it was uncomfortable enough as it was! The Psyduck had to respond somehow- though it clearly did not want to- so it scratched at the Turtwig's shell, trying to minimize the damage it did to him. It wasn't his fault that his Trainer was so afraid of him! The Psyduck gripped its head again and stared at the Turtwig, waiting for him to finish the battle. If he used Absorb again the Psyduck would be knocked out. Pantalaimon looked at his Trainer and frowned. He did not agree with this fight. The Psyduck was trying to be good! They shouldn't be battling it! His attention fell on an empty Pokeball that had fallen out of his Trainer's purse. He knew exactly what he needed to do. "My Trainer is a doctor. She thinks your scary for some reason but I think she can make your head all better! I'm going to give you one of the tiny homes so you can come with us!" He ran over to the Pokeball, biting down on it and carrying it with him back to the Psyduck before Elfana could stop him. "Pantalaimon, no!" By the time she had managed to climb down from the rock and grab her Turtwig, he had already pressed the Pokeball to the Psyduck's face. It wiggled once before dinging. Pantalaimon cheered while Elfana began to pout. She didn't want a Psyduck! "New friend~ New friend~" The Turtwig in her arms sang as she went to retrieve the Pokeball. She wanted to scold Pantalaimon but he looked so proud of himself...She sighed and kissed his head. "Good job, baby." He squealed happily. Elfana did her best to smile for him. 'Maybe it will grow on me.' She mused while she stared at the Pokeball. Either way- it was her Pokemon now. She was responsible for it. While she wasn't thrilled about it, she would still take care of the Psyduck.

Elfana Aroway Instead of gathering samples like she had planned, Elfana found herself sitting on the edge of the pond and looking up Psyduck on her Pokedex. When she started the day she hadn't been at all ready to suddenly acquire a bird. She could keep it healthy- she had worked with birds in the past and they weren't particularly difficult to care for- but she had no idea what else needed to be done to keep the Pokemon...not totally miserable. The fact that it wasn't a Flying Type made it a little better. Psyduck and its evolution were purely Water Types. This seemed strange to her given its Psychic abilities but at least she had been wrong about it being the Water equivalent of Natu. Her disdain for Natu and Xatu could be viewed at strange given how fond of Psychic Types she was. Combining the ability to see into your future with cold, dead, unblinking, creepy little eyes that felt as if they were staring into your soul with the ability to fly and an unsettling appearance made Natu and Xatu awful to her. She closed her Pokedex and sighed. Psyduck was a flightless Water bird with occasional Psychic outbursts. She could deal with that. Elfana stood up and began picking up everything she had dropped in her attempt to escape the Psyduck. She had been acting rather ridiculous about the whole thing. Pantalaimon either didn't care or hadn't noticed so at least she had that to be grateful for. After everything was safe in her purse again she decided to continue her original task- there were still samples to collect! She was going to get something good out of this.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Now that she was looking at it, the water in the pond was rather pretty. It was clear enough that she could see through to the bottom. While it appeared to be shallow, she knew this probably wasn't the case. The water was likely much deeper than it appeared. Fortunately Pantalaimon had not expressed an interest in trying to go further than the shore so it wasn't something she really needed to worry about. He was still happily splashing and playing. A negative situation had turned into a positive for him. She, on the other hand, was still a bit bothered by the fact that they were stuck somewhere underground, but she was now trying to make the best of it. She had already collected a couple of potentially useful small rocks to bring back with her. There was a museum in the town they were headed to from what she remembered so they might be able to learn more there. A trip to the museum could be fun for her Pokemon. If nothing else it would help them relax before they took on the Gym. She glanced back at her Turtwig, confirming he was still safe. She was going to have to rely on him to get her through the Gym. She hoped he was ready for it. Elfana stopped and sighed, looking around curiously to see if anything else caught her eye before she returned to Pantalaimon. To her surprise, she actually did see something. She couldn't readily identify what it was given that it was currently out of her reach but it appeared to have an orange tint to it and a rather strange shape. She would need to figure out a way to get up to it if she wanted to find out what it was.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Getting up to whatever she was looking at was proving to be more difficult than she thought. There was no reasonable way to climb up to it. The few potential handholds she did see looked as if they would give out under her weight. Were Kiro with her this wouldn't be a problem. She was sure the Croagunk could get up to the thing and bring it down to her. Elfana pouted as she stared up at the strange rock. She missed her Pokemon. Hopefully they would be okay until she got back to them. Her Turtwig bumped his head against her leg, trying to get her attention. She was making a sad face and she needed to be cheered up! Elfana picked him up and smiled softly, cradling him against her chest. They were stuck but at least they weren't alone. She had a cute Turtwig to keep her company. She kissed his head and was just about to turn her attention back to the puzzling rock when something appeared directly beside her. The doctor squeaked and tried to step away before she was pulled into a hug by a worried Alakazam. "Walter?!" Tracking her down had taken the Alakazam much longer than he would have liked. He would have retrieved her sooner if he had been able to. "Are you two okay?" He asked, frowning when he noticed the cut on her forehead and the bruises all over her body. Expecting her to get out of falling through the floor of a cave had been unreasonable but he had still hoped she would be fine. At least she hadn't broken anything. Pantalaimon was mostly unharmed too- save for a small scratch on his shell. The Turtwig didn't look bothered by it so he assumed he wasn't feeling any discomfort. "We're fine. I wish nothing but the worst for whoever dug that tunnel though." She shrugged, kneeling down so she could hug Kiro as well. The Croagunk had latched on to her leg momentarily before becoming distracted by the pond. "Kiro, could you get that thing down for me?" She pointed at the unusual rock up above them. He stared for a moment before jumping on to her shoulders. As soon as she stood, he hopped up towards the ledge the rock was stuck on. "Thank you~" She called to him before looking back to Walter. "We found the Geodude we were looking for and a Psyduck we weren't." That Psyduck was hers now. She began going over everything that had occurred since they fell down into the tunnels, making sure to leave nothing out. Walter would be more upset if she forgot to include something important. She was glad they wouldn't need to keep searching for the exit. They could leave as soon as Kiro retrieved the rock.Partners:

Elfana Aroway Elfana didn't have to wait long for Kiro to return with the strange rock. He was lucky it appeared to have fallen off of one of the walls at some point, otherwise he would have had to find a way to dig it out. She turned the stone over in her hands before patting Kiro's head. The Croagunk had just retrieved a fossil for her. The trip to the museum had just become a necessity. She couldn't carry a fossil around the region with her. She needed to turn it in to a place that could properly care for it. "Is everyone okay with stopping by the Pokemon Center then going to the museum from there?" She asked, deciding to run her plan by her Pokemon before she did anything. Pantalaimon and her Zubat needed to be taken care of and Walter, of course, was going to require her to get her head looked at. She had already determined that she was okay. All the nurse was going to do was clean it up and stick a bandage on it. She could do that on her own. The Alakazam would be able to relax once she was looked after though, so she kept all of her protests to herself. When it appeared as if they were all in agreement, the little group gathered around Walter. They were going to take the fast way out of the cave. The area around the pond fell silent as the doctor and her Pokemon suddenly vanished. Their next stop was Oreburgh City.Partners:

She purposed, at least it sounded like it, but it was more along the lines of telling him. " Do you really think that's a good idea Cypress? Having them out so early?" Wyatt spoke in a stern voice, the face tail curling around to look up at her as it translated for the heads way above. While the Alolan Executor was limber enough to bend and curl all the way down, most were, he didn't enjoy it, especially for so long. " IN a secluded cave is one of the best places. Besides they can't live in a Pokeball. They need to learn to fight and defend themselves. And I need to see what they can do." She told him. The Tree began to bend downwards a bit to look at Cypress directly from above, " I don't think its a very good idea." He commented, looking her over, trying to warn her of the dangers. However, Cypress already knew of them, but she had already made up her mind. " Well, I do." She commented confidently. She began to walk into the entrance without letting Wyatt have another word. The Turtwig looked up to the tree and began to scamper in after Cypress. " Wow will I get to have my first battle?" He called out into the echoing cave, as the alolan Executor collectively let out a deep and heavy sigh as they stepped back and began bending way down to slowly march his way into the cave. This should be fun!" it chimed as it began to hop around along behind Turtwig. " Where are we?" Snove asked looking up to Cypress. This question was enough to catch the attention of the Pink water type. It too stopped hopping around and turned to look at Cypress. " They want to know where they are, and what they're doing here." Wyatt translated. Cypress nodded, and walked forward to kneel down in front of the two Pokémon. " Hey, You remember me from the base? Well, we're in Sinnoh now, you're both going to travel with me and my Pokémon, so you can be save and learn to defend yourselves if you needed to." She explained to them. The pink Phione made a noise that sounded like 'Ooooh' as it processed. But the Snover took a moment to look down at the ground then back to Cypress to nod. " I'm sure we're going to run into a Pokémon down here, so I would like to see what you two can do." She commented to them, to which the both nodded. " Okay, Phione, you're up then." she called out over the Zubat. She looked down at the water Pokémon with it's hands over it's ears. " Stop yelling!" the Phione yelled back. But the Zubat didn't stop. She looked up at it with a frown, when it didn't stop the screeching the Pokémon held out it's hands and unleashed a strong electric bolt. With a flash of light and a crackling 'Bang!' the Phione struck Zubat with lightning. Cypress let out a shout of surprise as the rest of the Pokémon had to look away. " Ooookay" Cypress commented drawing it out and spoken in an overly happy tone. Cypress moved back forward, leaning down and patting it on the head, earning her a bit of a static shock. " Okay, that was very good, and strong... But how about we don't strike anything with lightning while underground unless we have to, okay?" While it was very startling to Cypress that the little water type could harness electricity like that, it was very interesting to her. Maybe if she could teach it to be able to control and harness that ability it might be a really good asset to defending itself. Especially in it's natural habitat, the water. She'll just have to make sure it won't injure itself. It was good to see that ability, she just hoped she wouldn't again while in the cave. The group continued to walk, while the tall Alolan Exeggcutor had to struggle to walk and bend forward. They continued to walk again until they heard a loud whine. She looked over to see a Geodude attacking something small and green. " Alright, this is a good time to see what you can do Snover." She commenting, thinking defending a Pokemon would be a great time to go for him to step up. She looked down to look for him behind her but found nothing. She spun around looking for him on the ground, but found him peeking out from behind Wyatt. " Alright then, you're not here for a battle. Turtwig, you're up." She commented massaging the bridge of her nose. Turtwig jumped happily and ran forward. He ran and tackled the rock, who turned around and braced himself. " That's the spirit, tackle him again." She commented, as her starter went to tackle it again, and began to chase off the rock. " Yeah you run rock!" He called out excitedly, as he tried to trot after him. " Don't go too far!" Wyatt turned one of his heads to look at her and see what she had caught, and saw the Larvitar. " That's an interesting find in here." The now bent over tree commented, with it's top heads rather then the tail. " I thought so too, but I'm not so sure how... present this one is." Cypress commented looking down to the little green Pokémon resting in her arms and just staring forward. However as they caught up to her Turtwig, he was already starting a battle with a Psyduck. " Whoah there Cujo" Cypress commented on the fact that her Turtwig was just seeking battles. The Turtwig seemed to be figuring it out pretty well though. The little starter tackled the duck, having already taken a blow. The Duck swatted it's tail, but it missed the turtle. The Turtwig retaliated and tackled again. However the Duck was ready and sprayed more water at him, which coated Cypress too this time, causing her to let out a cry of frustration. She stood up trying to brush off any stray water. " Alright, take that duck out." She commented angrily, however her Exeggcutor couldn't stifle his chuckle. Her starter tackled the duck again, as it whipped it's tail to try and get away, only to be tackled again. Wyatt for one was very happy they were moving on, considering he was struggling to keep himself from scraping the roof but also not the ground. Both Phione and Snover agreed to walk the rest of the way. Snover liked getting to be around the Pokémon, even though he appeared to be a little shy. Meanwhile Phione appeared to be very excited and curious about their adventure. They made their way out of the tunnel, which didn't take all that long after having traveled through it while battling. After the absolute destruction of the bidoof that barred his way to the Oreburgh Gate Kenji and co moved forward to the small mountain range that separated the region, and Oreburgh City from Jubilife City. He didn’t have much experience travelling through cave systems, but with his gps handy he wasn’t all that worried about getting lost in the caves.
