While Kintaro was distracted with worrying about her hearing problem her Binacle got the drop on Attica as it dropped down from the tree it was clinging to. Attica was scratched across the chest and staggered back. The scratches were light but she made a noise that caused even Kintaro to flinch. The Pawniard glared at the two-headed barnacle Pokemon, brandishing her bladed hands as it flexed its long arm-like heads at her and made an aggressive noise. Attica scd her blades together for an unpleasant metallic sound in kind and then pointed her blades at Binacle. "You...You Monster! I'll cut you up for that! A lady should always look her best!" Attica cried, rushing forward and taking two sharp swipes before defending against a second attack. The pair of heads made it more difficult to deal with. "Attica! Draw back! You need to gauge your opponent before you attack. Keep track of both of their heads." Kintaro cautioned, causing Attica to stumble away from a combined attack by both heads that would have taken her off balance. She gave a coy grunt of appreciation before settling her attention completely on the Binacle both of which stared back. Now two trainers were stuck in a battle for Mary!

Binacle proved to be a lot faster than it looked given that it was two heads sticking out of a large rock. Attica resorted to slow, quiet steps around her opponent...opponents?...Kintaro was struggling to contend with Binacle right now. He knew he could deal with the issue of two heads, but he wasn't going to expect Attica to somehow be an expert when she had no experience. "I need you to take care, Attica. Start with Leer. Engage." He called out, staring Binacle down while Attica flashed a menacing stare at the two-headed thing. "BINACLE! YOU GET THAT ROTTEN THIEF! Oh, wait..." She stopped yelling after a long moment and one head turned to watch her make quick signals with her hands. The heads spoke among themselves before the right head spat out Water Gun while the right lashed out with Sand Attack. Attica moved to avoid getting hit with the sand, not wanting to lose her odds of hitting the guy with a move like that. She caught a faceful of Binacle water and staggered back, glaring again while Binacle shuddered and lost some of its nerve when fixed with such a scary expression. Kintaro was more focused on his opposing trainer than her Binacle now. He was confident in Attica's ability to protect herself, now he was going to try and decide just what kind of person tried to kidnap a Luxio that can't be caught. Surely she was aware that she was the thief here...wasn't she?

This girl was aggressive and reckless. Kintaro wasn't sure what her problem was. He decided it would be best to take her out before it got worse. Though Attica had only used Leer so far, her next attack was not one to keep the fight reasonable. She signaled her Binacle and the two heads moved together, distracting Attica and causing her to hesitate before they smashed into her body from either side and squeezed her hard! "Attica. It's time to take your Revenge." The Pawniard responded in the affirmative almost instantly. Attica rushed at the clamped Binacle and slashed straight through them, even cutting and damaging the rock that made up the base of their body. Binacle flailed once, fell back, and went still. Pokemon and Trainer were defeated and Kintaro had little else to do with her now that he had his Luxio back. "Mary! Are you alright? Can you walk?" He asked the Luxio, checking her bruises and administering a new Potion to help her recover more. "Come on, Mary. Let's get you home." He murmured to the Luxio and stroked her head. "Right now you need to get to a Pokemon Center for healing. But I still owe you an apology. Come on. I'll put you away and we'll resolve this issue." He explained, presenting his Pokeball and holding it out so that the other trainer would see him dematerialize his Luxio and recall her to her Ball. The young lady was flabbergasted, not sure how a guy like Kintaro was able to steal that Luxio right out from under nose! She still didn't understand that she had attempted to steal someone else's partner.

With Binacle defeated without a moment's hesitation, Kintaro was free to inquire on just what this girl thought she was doing. Thanks to witnessing Binacle receiving sign commands, Kintaro decided to address his opponent in kind. Speaking to her certainly had no effect. What were you thinking, attacking a Luxio that your balls wouldn't catch? He asked patiently, trying again now that defeating Binacle had brought his dander down. She responded quickly, beginning with a question he was getting tired of. You can sign? Followed soon by I thought my balls were messed up. I couldn't believe my good luck. Guess it wasn't very good. She admitted, realizing now that she had made an awful mistake. She was about to start crying but Kintaro distracted her with the conversation. You can't go around attacking Pokemon like that, even if you think they're wild. You could have seriously hurt my Luxio. The girl nodded swiftly and then shook her head. "I'D NEVER DO SUCH A THING! I...but...but I did...Didn't I?" In spite of her now-apparent deafness, the young lady was still capable of speaking plainly. She simply struggled to manage her volume. He could work with that. And he had already talked her out of worrying about Kintaro "stealing" Mary. Now that she knew she was dealing with an owned Pokemon she was clearly embarrassed and remorseful for attacking the poor thing. That was good. This was not an enemy.

Kintaro couldn't understand the way Claire was behaving. She was angry and offended that he recalled Mary from being "captured" but she was also ashamed and upset to discover she had been trying to steal somebody's Luxio. Kintaro was in the process of making his opponent understand that she wasn't going anywhere with Mary when a moment to check on Attica ended with the stranger seemingly disappearing. He could hear her crashing and swearing through the underbrush, but that didn't exactly make him feel any better. "She should probably seek a professional. I wish she would have stayed to receive my card." He mused with a small frown as he looked down at his Pawniard who shrugged in response to him. The girl was gone, Attica was content. Kintaro could only stare down at Mary's Pokeball once he was able to take his attention away from what had just been happening. He had been unkind to his Luxio and then sent her out to be assaulted alone and unprotected. This was supposed to be a training exercise to find out how far she was in her sensory abilities. He felt bad enough about his tantrum before, now he had caused her even more pain. "We need to have a discussion after you heal. Rest for now. Let's go Attica. You all need healing after this." He informed the Steel Type. She needed to recover the same as everybody else. Kintaro made sure to return to the Pokemon Center quickly so that he could deal with his injured team, then his Luxio.

Given the size of the forest it wasn't unreasonable to assume that following the paths was recommended. So what did Elfana do? She went off the path of course. Exploring off of the paths reduced her chances of encountering other people and were likely to have more Pokemon. The amount of activity from the humans traveling between the towns would scare off anything worth seeing. She expected to see a wide variety of Bugs in the forest. What she hadn't expected to encounter was a Pikachu. Had its curiosity not caused it to approach her, she would have been content to observe the Electric Type from a distance. The poor mouse ended up catching a glob of poison with its face when Kiro decided its sudden approach was a threat. Elfana sighed. "Every Pokemon that approaches us isn't a threat. Perhaps it wanted to say hello?" She gently scolded her Croagunk while she tried to figure out what to do with the unconscious Pikachu. In the end she decided to throw a Pokeball at it. It wiggled several times before the Pokemon was caught. She allowed the Pokeball to be taken by the storage system. She would train the mouse when she returned to her lab. The little group wandered through the forest for several hours until they were thoroughly lost. Only then did Elfana ask Walter to Teleport them to the next town.

Script entered the forest and gazed around as he walked, hugging Frofro a little closer to his chest every time the shadows moved incase she got scared. The froakie however was unbothered, cuddling into his chest and letting out happy murmurs as she drifted in and out of sleep. It wasn't until Script let out a joyful cry that she awoke to him skipping up to a bird-like pokemon pecking at the ground. As he crouched beside it the bird pokemon opened it's wings as if to take off, but as the boy made no move to grab it the Fletchling simple froze and stared at him.
"Hello Birdy! Want to me friends?" The little bird tucked in it's wings and hopped around to fully face the strange boy, it's head ing to the side as if trying to reason out his actions. Script gasped as Frofro collapsed, quickly running over and scooping her up in his arms. He held her tightly against his chest and stared at the mean little bird for a moment, confused by how strong it was. It was so tiny yet it had dropped Frofro with a single hit. This training thing was a lot harder than he had thought. He looked down at Frofro and a tear slid down his cheek as he realized her getting hurt was his fault. He should have known the fletchling was too strong! As if in response to his words the fletchling flapped it's wings in challenge and took to the air, diving at Script with a cry. Script sheilded Frofro and waved his arm at the feisty little bird, feeling his hand collide with feathers and hearing a little chirp of surprise. He hadn't hurt it, right?

By the time he could see the tree's thinning out up ahead the Fletchling had stopped chasing them, but he was dirty and scratched from the encounter. Worse, the jeans the kind nurse had given him had gotten ripped when he had fallen. Spirits low, Script headed back into town.

Script crept into the forest as the shadows began to grow in strength. It wouldn't be long now before the sun sank bellow the horizon, and Script wanted to make it through to the next city before it got scary and dark. He walked briskly as he tried to figure out which way to go in the growing dark. Without seeing the hidden root among the shadows Script suddenly tripped and fell, his yelp cut off as he landed on his back and the air was knocked from his lungs.
"Froak!" Frofro looked at him in alarm, fully aware that the boy had spun as he fell so he wouldn't land on her. She dabbed at his face a few times until he opened his eyes and managed a grin, slowly sitting up with a grunt of effort. His back hurt from where he had landed on another root, but all in all he was ok and it didn't take long for him to find his feet again. More careful this time, Script continued deeper into the woods.

Script continued on into the woods, occasionally stumbling as it grew darker and darker. He was beginning to think he should have spent the night at the pokemon center like the nurse had offered, but he had been too excited to get back to their adventure. Stupidstupidstupid. His thoughts were chaotic as he walked, and once again he had to suddenly shake his head from side to side to clear his mind. He didn't know why his mind worked the way it did, but it made it so much harder for him to focus on the task at hand.
"WEEDLE!" A cry startled him from his thoughts as he jumped back in surprise. A small weedle stood on the path in front of him, seeming to be looking at it's tail. It took only a moment for Script to realize he had stepped on the pokemon without seeing it, and immediately he rushed over to it with a worried expression.
"I'm sorry! Sorry sorry, you ok?" As if in reply the Weedle narrowed it's eyes, and if not for a warning from Frofro that caused Script to lean back, he would have been strung by the stinger at the end of Weedle's tail. Angry, Frofro jumped from Script's arms and issued a challenge to the little bug, her eyes full of fury that he had tried to hurt her trainer.

He scooped up Frofro and cuddled her for a good battle won before heading further into the woods. After a terrifying start they had finally won their first battle! He was a real pokemon trainer now! He grinned as the feeling swept through him. He had always wanted to be a pokemon trainer like his... his thoughts became fuzzy as he tried to remember why he wanted to be a pokemon trainer so badly. Who had been a trainer? He couldn't remember. After a few moments of trying to remember a sharp pain suddenly flashed across his temple and Script flinched before giving up and focusing back to the present. Script hurried as fast as he could through the forest without tripping. He was beginning to get tired from all the walking, but pushed on regardless. He wanted to get to the fair and play games with his pokemon as soon as possible! By now Soda had woken up and was simply enjoying the night air. The pikachu had been born in the city and lived it's whole young life there, so this was the first time he had gotten to see what laid beyond the lights. As night fully settled in the forest bacame an entirely new place. Script was rather nervous in the dark, not because he was frightened but because it reminded him of something bad that he just couldn't put his finger on. I have to be home before dark! The thought came suddenly and the boy froze in a sudden wave of fear. He had to get home! But... where was home? Why did he have to go there? He was confused and scared and by the time he realized it he had already wandered off the trail and had no idea where he was.
"Homehomehome..." He murmured softly to himself as he continued walking, hoping he was going in the right direction. Both of his pokemon were awake and alert now, picking up on their trainer's fear. He cuddled them as he walked in an attempt to soothe both them and himself, but both looked up at him with worried eyes. What was he so scared of? He couldn't remember, but it felt like his stomach had turned to ice.

Pushing foreword Script eventually noticed the trees beginning to thin out, a good sign that he was nearly out. However the anxiety and fear remained. He felt like being out this late was wrong, but he didn't know why. Were their monsters out here? He didn't remember anyone mentioning that to him recently. So after a bit of thought he figured it must have been from something before his memory started at the hospital. It worried him that he couldn't remember why the night was so bad, and every sound in the forest sent shocks of fear up his spine. By the time he saw the end of the forest he was running, a smile brightening his face as he saw the town lights. He had made it!

Roma and her little family entered the forest making good time. Now that she had Buck to help her along they were making quick progress on their journey. It was nice not having to worry about slowing her little team down, even though she knew her sweet pokemon didn't mind. Ringo had settled on her shoulder for the journey, occasionally preening Roma's hair as if unhappy with it's state. It was a cute little thing that Roma was quickly coming to love, fully allowing the little bird to mess with her hair all it wanted as they went. The others followed close at Buck's heels, occasionally taking a break from walking and riding on his rump behind Roma. Not that the Gogoat seemed to mind at all, if anything he seemed happy to give rides to any who needed it.
"What a pretty little forest. Now keep together dears, I don't want any of you getting lost, you hear?"

As Roma and her group wove their way deeper into the forest a cry made them all pause.
"Go, Buck!" Immediately Roma urged Buck foreword at a faster pace towards the sound, and as they pushed through a row of bushes they came upon two wild pokemon. The Caterpie was harassing a small Petilil who cowered from the bug pokemon and let out another cry of fear as the bug moved closer.
"That's enough! Ringo, teach that Caterpie some manners!" At her command the Fletchling took flight and dove at the caterpie, knocking it away from the poor Petilil with a peck from her sharp beak. The bug pokemon tumbled away and quickly fled back through the bushes, leaving Roma and her group alone with the little Petilil.

"Are you ok, dear?" Roma slid off of Buck's back and handed the egg to Spectra before approaching the wild grass pokemon carefully, crouching down to get a good look at it and make sure it wasn't hurt. In response, the little pokemon surprised her by running up and throwing itself into her lap with a cry. Roma gently pet the poor little thing and let it recover from it's ordeal in silence, waiting until it's crying stopped before she spoke again.

"Would you like to come with us dear? Are you alone out here?" At her words the Petilil snuggled closer to her and Roma took that as a yes to her question, gently scooping up the pokemon and getting to her feet again. "In that case you are welcome to join us, little one. Let's name you Lily, because you are very pretty." Lily sniffled and seemed to smile a little at the name, relaxing into Roma's arms happily. "How about we all take a break here and rest up. It would certainly do my old bones some good." Roma found herself a nice spot to sit down in the soft grass and hold the Petlil until it seemed to recover from it's bad experience. Sometimes it was good to just take a minute for yourself.

Once the Petilil seemed recovered from it's ordeal Roma slowly got to her feet once more to continue their journey. She placed Lilly down next to her other pokemon before retrieving the egg from Spectra and heaving herself back onto Buck's back, careful not to damage the egg in the process.
"Alright lovelies, it's time to go find ourselves some adventure!" Roma announced brightly as Buck began to trot along the trail, her pokemon following close behind. After a quick check to make sure the egg was secured safely in her lap and all were accounted for, Roma and her little group continued down the path. She knew she had to catch Ringo up to the others, so along the way she kept a keen eye out for any wild pokemon to battle, and after only a few minutes they found their opportunity.

Two pokemon were chatting along the side of the trail, and as Roma's group approached them, they both turned toward them and gave a challenging cry. Seemingly, the two were waiting for a trainer to pass by to test themselves and Roma was happy to oblige.

Roma slid off of Buck's back and quickly healed the wild pokemon with a few potions before seeing them off with a smile. They were making good progress, but they needed more battles yet.
"Let's leave the beaten path, I was never one to stay in the lines anyway." Roma mused, glancing to her pokemon before stubbornly pushing her way through the bushes and deeper into the forest. Her pokemon followed her closely, most of them keeping an eye on her in case she should fall. The egg remained safely tied to Buck's back in a nest made of Roma's shawl, although Ringo remained perched beside it to make sure it didn't wiggle free as they tramped through the underbrush. It wasn't long before they found their next opponent in a small clearing, this time a little Eevee.

Roma quickly healed up Ringo before collecting the pokeball containing their new friend and putting it safely away until she could get the dear all healed up. For now they needed a new opponent to train against.
"I think we should go this way." Roma announced as she wandered off deeper into the woods. Her pokemon followed a little more cautiously, ready in case they ran into any trouble. However, their little excursion went smoothly, and after a few minutes of trucking through the bushes they came upon a lone Deerling.

As Roma healed up the Deerling and sent it on it's way, the bushes beside them rustled. A group of Deerling pushed through the undergrowth and faced Roma's group with curious eyes, and among them a few seemed willing to battle.
"Oh this is perfect! Can you dears help us train? I promise to heal you up afterward of course." She added, gesturing to the Deerling they had already fought who gave the others a nod. Satisfied, one of the new Deerlings stepped forward.

"Thank you, sweetie." The Deerling seemed to smile back before trotting off to be replaced by another Deerling with a determined look in its eyes. Seeing it's friend defeated so easily, it wanted to fight now too to see if it could do better. Thrilled, Roma stepped back and prepared for battle.

Roma grinned as Ringo won yet another battle. Sure, the little bird had the type advantage, but it was still an achievement. She healed up the defeated Deerling and stepped back once more as another took it's place. They were lucky to have stumbled upon the small herd and even luckier that the Deerlings were willing to help them. Although, Roma didn't miss that some of the Deerling seemed to be doing it for their own benefit rather than hers, but that was perfectly fine.

Roma nestled herself into a seating position as the battles continued, letting Spectra take over with the healing after each battle to save her poor back. The Charmander seemed happy to help the Deerlings, a fact that warmed the old woman and made her smile. Another Deerling stepped up to battle with a stamp of it's hoof, determined to do better than the one before it.

As everyone was healed up once again by nurse Spectra, another Deerling stepped up to fight. Roma noticed already they had defeated nearly the entire herd. Soon they would have to find others to help them and let the Deerling continue on.
