Veilstone City

{Veilstone City Gym (Click)}Maylene is the official Gym Leader of Veilstone City's Gym. She hands out the Cobble Badge to Trainers who defeat her, and she specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. Maylene appears to be just a cute little girl, but the adults in the town have learned to respect her for her power. Maylene is relatively young for a Gym Leader, and she often is self conscious about her age, but it doesn't show with how she battles. She still finds herself wondering why she was still considered and earned the right to be a gym leader. Though she doubts herself at times, she still fights to the best of her ability to prove it to herself. Not only does she train her Pokemon, she trains along side them. She runs with all her Pokemon all the way to Snowpoint City, and back. Not only to build up their endurance, but also aid in their ability to withstand the cold. While their, she visits her long time friend, Candice. She admires Candice for being so studious, and often confides in her in her feeling self conscious. When Maylene isn't running or training her Pokemon, she works in her gym, training students, Pokemon, and some times trainers in the arts of Martial arts, and even her friend Wake helps her and teaches every so often. Maylene can also be found in many restaurants and enters many eating contests, and is often seen with piles of empty bowls around her, and amazed onlookers. In addition, she will occasionally participate in the Pokéathlon's Supreme Cup in the Power Course with her Lucario, Meditite, and Machoke.
Maylene's Gym sits in the main of the City with most of the City's tourist attractions, sitting just a few buildings away from the Game's Corner. From the outside, the gym looks a lot like a regular gym, large and tall gray walls, that fit nicely into the city, contrast to the flashy Game's Corner. The roof is a large dome shape, and is a deep blue which was painted to match the Game's corner, and at night lights sitting on the top of the Gym begin to flash and light up the street to help bring in traffic and match the street's aesthetic. Once inside, it's anything but flashy. The gym is just one large room. The walls are a light tan, while the tall ceilings are the same blue as the outside, however the large room is built to be many things. The gym has two wrestling rings, one for humans, and one for Pokemon. Maylene helps train people and Pokemon alike for them, for a more hands on martial art's training. While in her Gym, she completely forbids the use of special abilities and attacks while outside the traditional battles, making everyone on the same playing field. Just behind the wrestling rings is where she does her actual training. There is a large area where the floors are covered with mats, with a few punching bags set up to practice on. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays she teaches martial arts here twice a day for all that want to join. In the very back of the gym is where the actual battle field sits. The battle field sits on a raised area and dressed up as if it were a massive wrestling ring, but only more sturdy. Both battlers will be standing in the ring alongside their Pokemon, just in a designated area at the edges of the field. The ground is padded some what like a ring, its a very hard rubbery substance to help with hitting the ground.
