Skylar looked at the two. He gave a mild chuckle and set the Dragon/Dark type down and dusted his arms off. " Well i was planning on just taking it easy, relax a bit and get to know my Pokemon a bit more, but i kept on finding myself getting into some sort of events around, wild pokemon battles, finding pokemon that needed help, Etc. Anyway this little lady here happens to be called a Deino its a dark and dragon type." he responded to her question. " She does have a stubborn attitude and usually is crashing into me or other things." he says looking down at the Pokemon. |

It seemed that activity was just attracted to him, he couldn't just have a simple walk around the city without something happening to him. In the time that she had been trying to think things through and had that discussion with the Fennekin that they now called Gia, Skylar had gone off on a little adventure it seemed, that involved a strange looking Pokemon that he set on the ground in front of them. It was like nothing Rhienne had ever seen before, with four short legs and claws, a short tail and a stout body, and she couldn't tell if it had eyes or not with the black hood of what looked like fur that came over its face. It was small, and didn't look like much, but Rhienne had never heard of a dark dragon type Pokemon before, it hardly looked like a dragon.
"That little thing is a dragon," Aviabra snickered, though she earned a subtle growl from Wattson to mind her manners as she tried to pretend she hadn't said anything at all.
"A Deino? And you just found it wandering around the city here," Rhienne asked, having never heard of the peculiar Pokemon before, but she had to agree with Aviabra, it didn't exactly look like a dragon...
"She doesn't sound very privy to the idea of coming with a trainer if she's stubborn like that," Rhienne commented though, after Skylar had mentioned that the little thing had a bit of aggression, and if it only got stronger there was no telling if it would get more aggressive. |

He listened as the female trainer spoke. He had to agree but when he was petting her the hood felt more like fur to his touch. " Actually I found her in the Park, i was walking with bayleef when something was blasted at us. A Dragon Rage i found out was fired from this little one. She was swaying back and forth and was also sweating when i found her." he said doing his best to let her know what happened. On the topic he also placed a hand on the Bayleef. " Also when i finally got some time to relax, I had gotten to finally talk to Chikorita, She then started to evolve right there and then!" he exclaimed. He looked as the Psychic and dark type pokemon both started to exchange places before the Deino move her gaze to the Lucario known as Wattson. |

She had to wonder where it came from and what it was doing in the park really in the first place, but it seemed that Skylar had more to talk about then as he made mention to the Bayleef that was standing beside him. Rhienne could assume that it was the same Chikorita that he had with him, that it had evolved, and it had grown quite a lot from the little grass type it had been. Rhienne could remember when Kyoko had evolved for the first time, though the fire type had never evolved to her final stage, a Typhlosion Rhienne knew they could become. Not that she minded really, or really didn't particularly care what the fire type chose, but it would be a curious thing to see if the Bayleef would decide to enter its final stage of evolution when it came time.
"Yeah, I see that. Congratulations on the evolution. Its always kind of exciting, isn't it," Rhienne commented as she looked from Skylar to the Bayleef with her purple eyes, though standing beside her Aviabra looked down to the small assumed to be dragon as it looked up with its head to her and Wattson. Wattson didn't seem to pay the small Pokemon much mind, but Aviabra looked down to it with a perplexed expression, focusing intently on its face.
"What are you looking at? Can you even see," Aviabra asked in confusion since she clearly couldn't see any eyes or otherwise on its head. |

Responding eventually with a nod he gave a smile. " It truly is amazing an exciting for when Pokemon evolve." he said looking back at the grass type. " Well are we still planning to hit the gym tomorrow?" he questioned so he could get his first badge. " I'm honestly nervous as well as excited." the Dragon type not being able to see that well simply tilts her head " Hello? and you are?" she asked with an adorable little voice. Skylar started to look up at the sky seeing the sun start to go down slowly. |

She knew the dragon to be one of the strongest Pokemon she had ever seen, he was capapble of a lot and taking some heavy hits, so she could fathom that he was more than ready and capable to become a Dragonite, and she wondered why he might not have evolved yet either. And then there was Wattson whom stood beside her, and while she had only known Lucario to be the final stage of his evolution line, he had surprised both of them with another form of evolution, the Mega Evolution that she had learned about when she was spending her time in Mahogany Town. She rather wondered if any of her other Pokemon were capable of this form of evolution, or what circumstances merited such a powerful form, but she knew that it really wasn't in her place to press her Pokemon or make any demands on them to change if they didn't want to. Rhienne had been thinking about evolution a bit when Skylar asked about the gym for the next day, and Rhienne was still a little rocky on what it was she really wanted to do. She wasn't sure that gym battles were really for her any more, she didn't feel like she was gaining anything from challenging the leaders, but with a new region and new Pokemon that she had never really seen before, it could pose a bit of a challenge and at least give her something to take her mind off of a few things.
"Yeah, that's the plan to challenge the gym tomorrow," Rhienne replied, though Skylar went on to say that he was nervous about his first challenge, and Rhienne could understand.
"I mean, there's nothing really to be nervous about, at least not for the first gym leaders in a region," Rhienne started. As far as she knew, Skylar had a full team of Pokemon, and even the Bayleef that had just evolved would be a big help to taking the challenge.
"The league structure has it set to start out pretty easy, but you can't take it for granted. The leaders get more challenging, so you can't let your guard down," Rhienne tried to explain, really by no means considering herself an expert of any kind at challenging gyms, but she wanted to at least try to help a little.
Standing on the ground beside Rhienne, Aviabra looked down still to the small black and blue Pokemon as it looked up at her, kind of, and spoke.
"Uh... My name is Aviabra, but seriously, how do you even know where to look, are you just like listening to my voice," the psychic asked, trying to figure the little thing out. |

The small Deino gave a slight chuckle looking up at her. " I don't have to see you, i just have a great sense of smell, and i label that smell as who it belongs to." she said before yawning cutely. Skylar was still intrigued by the whole evolution thing and was still wondering about this Mega Evolution kind of stone that he had found. " Well whats our next plan? Just to head in and get some sleep?" he asked Rhienne. He was more comforted now that she talked to him about not to be nervous, and what made him feel better was the fact that the Bayleef came over brushing her head against his hand so his hand rested on her head. He gave a smile at her. " Thanks Bayleef I can always count on you to have my back." |

"Yeah, okay, well you do you, you seem to be good at it," Aviabra commented before moving back away from the peculiar Pokemon, coming closer to Rhienne as she gave the dragon a side glance every so often.
"I think that would be best. I'm sure the gym wouldn't be open this late in the day, and we could get some rest anyways so you'll be rested and ready," Rhienne commented in response to Skylar's question of their next immediate action. She was feeling a bit tired anyways, and while she was relatively used to getting little sleep in recent times, she wanted to at least try to settle down for the night.
"I think I passed the Pokemon Center a little bit ago when we were looking for you, I think its that way," Rhienne said as she turned to point in a direction back through the streets away from the park they were standing next to, getting ready to head that way with Wattson and Aviabra who still stood on the other side of Rhienne from the Deino.
"We'll go to the gym the first thing in the morning, I think I know where it is now too after looking at that map again," she continued as she started walking through the city streets towards the Pokemon Center, knowing that Skylar was a bit antsy to get his first gym badge.
Rhienne and Skylar had made it to the Pokemon center without issue and were able to check into two rooms to rest for the night. While Rhienne was pretty okay with Skylar, as far as not wanting to smite him and move on, she wasn't exactly sure that she felt like they were friends yet, not like her and Mika had become. Rhienne got ready for bed for the night, and used what space she had in the room to let some of her Pokemon out from their balls to rest too, more so only her natural typed Pokemon since those like Absolem, Cheshire, Vandit, and Terrent didn't sleep much. Rhienne slept on the bed with Aviabra, and Kyoko made herself comfortable in a chair, and Wattson too slept comfortably sitting in a chair. Nara laid herself on the floor along the bed, effectively taking up the most space in the room, and Valor coiled up in the corner to sleep for the night.
The morning came, and Rhienne woke with her Pokemon in the room, and she took the time to get herself ready and make sure she had her things together to meet Skylar, and within the morning they had made it to the front of the gym for Striaton City as they approached the front doors. Rhienne still had Aviabra out and about from her Pokeball, and despite Valor's lack of enthusiasm for being out in the middle of the city, Rhienne did decide to keep the Dragonair out of his Pokeball as well. To get Gia more integrated into their team, Rhienne was hoping the small fire type might like to participate in a battle, and Rhienne thought it would be good for Valor to see that Rhienne was trying to take care of the fox, to show that she did care about the situation that the Fennekin had been put in.
"So, are you challenging this place too? I mean, we've already done some gym battles before, what's the point," Aviabra questioned as she looked up to Rhienne with her hands on her hips.
"We're here, so we might as well, but Skylar wanted to challenge the gym too, so we're here more for him," Rhienne returned, looking to Skylar then though as she mentioned that they were at the gym mostly for him.
"Okay, so who's going first," Aviabra asked, wondering which trainer was going to take on the gym leader first. |

Having headed in to the Pokemon Center, Skylar had gotten the sleep he needed, and being surrounded in the room by his Pokemon made him feel like he was never alone. As they walked to the gym and upon arriving Skylar and Bayleef were feeling ready for the up coming challenge. " Well I'm not sure how these battles go, so Rhienne why don't you go first, so after i see your battle i can understand how to battle." he said as he puts a hand on the head of the Bayleef which made her smile. |

Rhienne looked to him and was a bit shocked, and surely didn't think that she was any kind of example for challenging gyms or giving advice, but it seemed that Skylar was pretty set on watching her go first.
"Oh, uh, sure I guess I'll go first," Rhienne replied, pushing up her glasses on the bridge of her nose as she looked up to the building they stood in front of.
"Ooo, plot twist," Aviabra commented, having thought that the eager new trainer would want to go first as well, but that didn't seem to be the case. Rhienne looked up to the large building, tall ornate windows and how much it stood out against the city buildings and offices that stood around them, and after just a moment more she took the first step towards the impossibly tall doors and pushed through them to enter the gym. Immediately it was difficult for Rhienne to adjust her eyes to the dim lighting as they entered in from the outside and the sunlight, and it was quiet inside much unlike the city street they had just been on. Rhienne blinked a few times with Aviabra and Valor beside her, trying to adjust to the lighting when she caught sight of a young woman standing behind a kiosk in front of them, wearing a sort of uniform it looked like.
"Hello, and welcome to Cafe Trio. How may I serve you today," the woman greeted with a warm smile and a soft voice so as not to disturb the ambiance of the place, and Rhienne looked around to see tables and chairs and people sitting with food in front of them and the distant clicking of plates and silverware filled the air with sound. Rhienne stammered for a moment, having expected to step into a gym, with a battle field, to challenge the gym leader, not to be faced with a restaurant that clearly proved that they were in the wrong place.
"Oh cool, I'm hungry," Aviabra commented, already forgetting the issue at hand as Valor only rolled his eyes above them, but Rhienne stopped her with a hand in front of her as Rhienne looked back up to the woman at the kiosk.
"Oh, um, I'm sorry, I think we're in the wrong place," Rhienne managed after a moment, glancing back to Skylar to start making their way out of the cafe's lobby, but the woman only gave a soft laugh at Rhienne's stammering.
"You must not be from Unova, my apologies. Most trainers come here for a meal first, and then they challenge the leaders here afterwards," the woman spoke with a smile, and Rhienne stopped as she looked at her.
"You mean this is the gym," Rhienne replied in bewilderment, unable to fathom it as she could only see a very posh and very upscale restaurant in laid out in front of them with ornate table clothes and high red dd windows and lush red carpet.
"Oh yes, and I'll be your first opponent before you can challenge the leaders here. Please, follow me," the woman replied, bowing her head lightly before turning from her kiosk and moving through the restaurant. Rhienne glanced at Skylar again, unable to believe that this was really a gym still, but as the woman lead them through the tables and towards an enormous back curtain, the pulled on a golden tassle that opened up the back wall of the cafe, and there behind it under a glass ceiling was a battle field, earning the attention of those sat at the tables, whispers of being interested in watching the first battle of the day moving over the tables.
"Okay, but we still get food, right," Aviabra commented, having been looking at the plates and food that she had seen as they passed by the tables on their way to the back of the restaurant.
"The leaders here are great chefs, and to those who might earn their badge, you can get a free meal if you would like," the woman replied to Aviabra, but Rhienne only looked to the Medicham with a glare that told her to stop talking, and so Aviabra stood back with Valor who moved off to the side of the battlefield.
"Who will be the first challenger," she asked, assuming that both the girl and the male with the Bayleef were trainers who had come to challenge the gym, and Rhienne glanced at Skylar again before she stepped forward, ready to take on the challenge.
"I'll go first," Rhienne replied, and the woman gave a curt nod before moving to one side of the battle field, and Rhienne moved to the other to take her place. Rhienne watched the woman release a Pokemon, a small purple cat that Rhienne actually recognized to be a Purrloin, and the small feline gave a meow as it sat on the field then with sharp eyes and a poised tail, ready to face its opponent. Rhienne hesitated for just a moment, looking to Valor who sat coiled at the edge of the battlefield, but knowing that it would be a good chance for both him and Gia, Rhienne took out a Pokeball and released the small Fennekin. Valor raised his head with a bit of shock as he saw the small fire type released to the field, glancing at Rhienne with his red eyes. He didn't know what she was up to, but just seeing the Pokemon that had been left by its trainer and brought into their ranks, he wondered how this battle might go.
"Yay Gia," Aviabra shouted from the side in encouragement, though she earned a hushed scorn from some of the waitors that were moving through the tables to keep her voice down.
"What's going on," the Fennekin asked in a small voice, looking back to Rhienne as she had caught a glimpse of the Purrloin that sat on the other side of the field.
"Well Gia, I was hoping that you would help me with this gym battle here, do you think you could do that," Rhienne asked genuinely, hoping that she had maybe at least done one gym battle with that boy from the reserve to know what was going on. Gia recalled a gym battle a long time ago, when she had first started traveling, and she did think it was fun to battle and challenge herself, and she could tell that this new trainer was trying to include her. She had a lot of strong Pokemon that Gia had seen, and she could have very easily chosen one of them, but Gia felt a little bit better about being chosen instead as she looked out to her would be opponent.
"Yeah, I guess I can try to help," she answered then, turning to face the Purrloin to begin the battle.
"Thank you Gia, now lets see what you can do. Try ember," Rhienne asked then, having recalled Kyoko's early training and knowing that she had just a small bit of fire that she could use, and the Fennekin stood on her four small paws as she opened her mouth, releasing a flurry of burning embers that shot towards the Purrloin to start the battle. The cat had tried to move, but hadn't been expecting the attack, and before the woman could say anything the dark type had taken the hit, smoke coming up from its fur as Gia closed her mouth.
"That was great," Aviabra shouted again from the side lines, trying to encourage the fox like Rhienne had said the night before, but she earned another series of hushed scorns from the waitors again as she coiled back at the glares.
"Purrloin, use scratch," the woman spoke to retaliate as the cat shook out its fur, and with a small hiss the dark type rushed forward towards Gia with its small fangs bared, and while Gia had turned to try and run from the attack, the Purrloin lunged and was able grab on to Gia's tail, earning a squeal from the small fox.
"Gia, you can do it, try and shake it off," Rhienne tried to encourage as Gia stood on the ground and spun with her tail out, knocking the Purrloin to the ground then to get it off of her tail.
"Go on Purrloin, get back in there with your claws," the woman spoke and the Purrloin got up and rushed for Gia again with its claws extended, starting to swipe at the Fennekin.
"Fight back Gia, use your claws," Rhienne tried to get through as Gia took each hit the Purrloind slashed out, but Gia found an opening and rushed forward with her own claws, striking the cat with her attack. The Purrloin landed on the ground and struggled to get up, eventually laying down on the ground in defeat. The woman nodded graciously and returned her Pokemon to its Pokeball, raising her head to look back to Rhienne.
"Thank you for your battle. Was this your starter Pokemon that you brought with you," the woman asked then, looking to the Fennekin that slowly made her way back towards Rhienne. Rhienne found the question odd, since the woman could clearly see Valor and Aviabra, she wasn't new to this training thing to have such a young Pokemon, but she looked back to the woman regardless to answer her question.
"Uh, no. I'm from Johto, I have a Quilava with me," Rhienne answered a bit awkwardly, looking back to Skylar for a moment.
"Very well. One moment please, and the leader will be out to meet you," she replied with another curt bow as she turned to move back through the restaurant.
"What does it matter what kind of Pokemon Rhienne got a long time ago," Aviabra asked aloud, looking to Skylar to wonder if he might know. He had that grass type, would it matter that Rhienne had a fire type? Rhienne vs Tia

Skylar and the Bayleef were watching the battle. Not realizing the gym trainers were even a thing he stayed closed and followed to see the battle. The Bayleef nudged the side of Skylar whispering to him. " Baeeee!" the bayleef said as it smelt all the food around she was easily distracted. Skylar was still wondering how this place was a restaurant and a gym at the same time. How would that work, People ordering food and get to watch gym battles, its a wild guess but now seeing the upside maybe it could be like so. "Bayleef you coming?" he laughs as she runs over to Skylar as he follows Rhienne. Also the fact of having more than 1 gym leader also bewildered him as to not know how that would work for a Gym battle. As he watched the battle between the Fire and the dark type he was curious as to what they were, pulling his pokedex out he found out it was a Fenniken which he never saw Rhienne with, and the Purrloin it was battling. |

Rhienne was impressed with the little fox and the hits that she took, of course having seen much more brutal attacks in her time, but the strikes that the cat did manage to hit, it didn’t seem to faze her much at least.
”You did good in that battle Gia, do you want to try one more,” Rhienne asked as she looked down to the fox on the ground at her feet. Gia had forgotten what it was like to be in a battle and test herself, and even work together with her trainer. She did listen to Rhienne then, despite her reluctance in being given to a new trainer, but Rhienne did help her in the battle, and it felt almost natural to her in that moment to take Rhienne’s guidance. She wasn’t sure still how she felt about the whole situation, but battling and getting to test herself again was helping take her mind off of a few things, and that was something that she could get behind.
”Yeah… I guess I can take another battle,” Gia answered, but their attention was drawn to a set of footsteps coming towards them, and a hush fell over the patrons at the tables eating their food as a young man came from the other side of the battlefield. He was wearing a waiter’s uniform all down to the polished black shoes, but what stood out the most was his striking blue hair.
”You must be the challenger,” he greeted with a charming smile and a small glint in his eye, glancing down to the fire type that stood at Rhienne’s feet as she looked out to the leader with her purple eyes.
”I am,” Rhienne returned shortly, still rather taken aback by how grand and sophisticated this all was for just a gym battle.

Out of myself and my two other brothers, it seems that I will be your leader for today, since you favor fire type Pokemon,” he answered, brushing a length of blue hair from his face, and Rhienne could figure then that that’s why the woman before asked what her starter Pokemon from the professor was. This gym was meant to challenge trainers with their opposite type, but it was unfortunate for him that she had other Pokemon aside from Gia that still stood at her feet.
”I see, I understand what you and your brothers do now. That’s just fine, we’ll accept your challenge all the same,” Rhienne replied, knowing that she might not be able to effectively had Gia out in battle for when he might send out a water type Pokemon. He took out a Pokeball, and from it came a small brown puppy, like one that Rhienne had seen the day before wandering around the city streets, and she sent Gia forward with every confidence that she would be able to handle the battle. And she did, the young fox was able to take on the puppy, but Rhienne watched the blue haired leader release a blue monkey of a Pokemon, something that was surely a water type, and she called Gia back so that the fox wouldn’t get too hurt. Skylar was walking over following Rhienne, when the trainer stopped him, she was looking into his eyes when she spoke. " You want to battle the Gym Leaders? Well you got to beat me first." she said as her Purrloin came onto the field. Skylar had agreed to do battle and got a Pokeball from his belt he stood on his side of the field and threw the ball out. " Amaura come help me out!" he said as from the ball of light the small ice type dino shook herself off and stood straight up ready to battle. The Trainer pointed to Skylar " You can have the first move." Skylar wasted no time and got ready right away. " Alright then, Amuara use Icy wind!" The Dino let loose a freezing wind which started to frost the legs of the dark type, it was definitely slowing it down. The trainer and Purrloin began their counter attack as the dark type jumped up as its claws came out and slashed at the Amaura using its scratch attack. Skylar knew Amaura's rock type body made it harder to get through. " Now use Rock Throw!" he called out as stones started to spin around Amaura and soon shot out flying at Purrloin scoring multiple hits. The Dark type slid on the ground kicking up dirt and dust, when the dust settled the Purrloin was unable to battle. Skylar cheered as the Amaura came back over giving Skylars cheek a very cold nuzzle. He had beaten the trainer but now, his first Gym battle was about to take place. The trainer returned her pokemon walking up to him. " Well done, now you can face one of the gym leaders, but i must ask, which type was your starter." Skylar was wondering why she asked and told her that he chose a grass type starter. " Well I'm just gonna let you know, be prepared to fight fire types." Skylar gave a nod ready for his battle. The female trainer had finished her battle against the leader Cress, and the young male trainer had taken his time to challenge the restaurant's waitress Tia, and with a small battle her Purrloin had fallen and it was time to begin another challenge. Tia had asked what starter Pokemon the young male had come with, and as opposed to the other trainer whom had chosen a fire type, it seemed this male trainer had taken to grass types in his travels which meant another brother of the restaurant was going to get his time on the field. Tia had returned her Purrloin and was going to return to her place at the kiosk, but not before notifying the leaders of whom would be taking the next challenge. From the other side of the field, after a moment, an older male, much like the leader Cress whom had challenged Rhienne had, came out from a doorway. He was the spitting image of Cress it seemed, down to the smallest facial features, but one outstanding difference was his bright red hair. At his feet though padded a small brown puppy of a Pokemon just like his brother though, but he looked out to his challenger with a pair of fiery red eyes. "So, miss Tia regaled us with the detail that you prefer grass type Pokemon? Well, I'll be your opposition for today, my name is Chili," he greeted graciously with a hand over his chest with a curt nod. "Let's get started, shall we? Present your Pokemon and we'll begin our battle," Chili mentioned, looking down as his small Lillipup padded forward to take the field. Skylar was pumped and ready, he nodded when he was asked about his pokemon starter, he then grabbed a poke ball from his belt. He threw it onto the field. From the light a Lucario had appeared onto the battlefield, it was standing on one of its legs meditating, but upon entering the field he stepped onto both legs getting ready in a battle stance. Skylar took a deep breath before calling out to his pokemon. " Ok Lucario use Laser Focus!" The Lucario's sight was now focused on the normal type and was preparing an attack which would make the next turn more powerful. Skylar also did this to scan out how the Gym Leader was in his strategy. Lucario

Standing there with his Lillipup, Chili was ready to begin the battle, but it seemed the challenging trainer wasn't one for talking much as he only released a Lucario onto the field to begin the battle. Chili was interested to say the least, that this young trainer already had a fully evolved Pokemon like that, and while he knew his Lillipup might not be able to do much in battle against it, he could at least help his final Pokemon in the long run. "I see. We'll begin the battle then. Lilipup, lets win it over with our good looks," Chili spoke then, brushing a hand through his fiery red hair, and the puppy followed his request as it looked intently at the fighting type across the way, its eyes glowing and leering at it to try and get into its head. It seemed the other trainer wasn't phased much by the attack and retaliated with a command of his own, and the Lucario seemed to focus past the Lilipup's attempt at trying to gain an upper hand in the battle. Skylar noticed that they were trying to weaken his pokemons attack, he was intrigued by this. " Not bad Chili. Ok Lucario use Power up Punch!" The pokemons fist started to glow, as it lunged at the normal type pokemon trying to get the upper hand in the battle. As this attack was fired, after the attack made contact, the Lucario had a slight red glow around its body as its attack stat rose back up. Lucario used Power up Punch Lucario's attack rose

Chili knew that he wouldn't be able to stand much chance against the Lucario with his Lilipup, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to make this battle as challenging as he could. The Lucario was focusing its energies like the species was famed for, surely getting ready to make for a powerful attack, but Chili wasn't going to let up with his strategy. "Lilipup, try again to get in its head, we have to try," he encouraged, knowing that it wouldn't be long before the Lucario attacked. The Lilipup barked and glared again with fierce glowing eyes, trying to disrupt the Lucario's focus the best that it could, but the young male he was in battle with seemed to work past it just like the fighting type as he urged his Lucario forward. The canine rushed forward with an extended paw, and well before the Lilipup could move out of the way the Lucario struck with a punch square to the Lilipup's body, sending the puppy back a ways on the field. "Come on Lilipup, get up, you can hold on for a bit longer," Chili remarked, trying to prepare the best he could for the rest of the battle. Skylar felt confident but didn't think of the gym leader as a push over or anything but he wanted to see how far he had come. " Lucario! Use Aura Sphere!" he called out. The Lucario started to focus its power into its paws before tossing the Aura Sphere at the Lilipup. Skylar was pumped up feeling he was literally almost have way through his first gym battle. The Lilipup was struggling now on the field, and it was easy to see why since the challenging trainer had presented a fully evolved Pokemon for his battle, but Chili was confident in his Lilipup's abilities as a team oriented Pokemon to pull through and help him as much as he could. "You're doing great Lilipup, I'm proud of you," Chili tried to encourage, knowing it wouldn't be much longer that his Lilipup would last in the battle, and he predicted correctly as the challenging trainer called for the Lucario to use its next attack, and as the powerful sphere of fighting energy struck the small puppy, the first round was lost. "Alright, alright, I can see your Lucario has a good amount of spice," Chili commented, admiting defeat then as he returned the puppy, praising it for its resillience in the battle. He looked up at his challenger though, and while the Lucario had the upper hand in being a fighting type, it also had a weakness in being a steel type. "But, I think we have a certain flare too," Chili continued, taking out his next Pokeball to continue the battle. He opened the ball and released his Pansear, the red monkey hopping on the field and eager to go. "Pansear, lets light things up," Chili called, and the fire type responded in kind with a shrill cry, opening its maw and releasing a bout of flames that engulfed the Lucario, starting the next round of the battle. Skylar found himself in a bit of a bind with the disadvantage. He amounted to the fact lucario took the incinerate but couldnt take another so he would give it an all out attack. " Go Lucario! use Aura Sphere!" he called out as the Aura pokemon stepped back charging the energy shot of aura before chucking it at the fire type Pokemon. Giving it one heck of a last shot to do something in this Gym battle. Skylar knew he would have to think strategy to win this now. |

The little fire type was doing well now in taking charge in battle, and Chili knew that it was always their typing that cause trouble for new trainers when he and his brothers were presented a challenger. Trainers needed to learn, and some needed to be reminded, that it was never just raw power that could take the lead in a battle. Tactic was necessary, and a steady knowledge of what Pokemon can and can't handle to make an effective battle. He also tried to teach trainers that they needed to learn about their Pokemon personally to know how to help them in battle to the best of their ability, this was all a partnership, not a show of power. "Well done Pansear. That was delicious," Chili praised, earning a few chipper cries from the monkey in response as it hopped about on the field. He could tell the challenger recognized the position he now had his Lucario in, but it seemed that he was still going to go for power over trying to help his Pokemon the best that he could. He ordered another powerful attack from the fighting type, and a charged sphere of energy was aimed and shot at his Pansear whom took the hit after not being able to move out of the way fast enough. He could tell that the fire took a toll on the steel type, and his Pansear was still rearing to go after the hit, so Chili knew what he needed to do next. "Pansear, lets finish our first dish," Chili commented, knowing how much the monkey liked to cook as much as he did, and the monkey chirped again before opening his jowls and releasing another bout of flames to cook up his first dish in battle, striking the Lucario with fire and flames. After Lucario had taken the last Incinerate it had fallen to the flames, Skylar quickly called his pokemon back to it she pokeball. That was when he reached for another's ball. " Were not done yet!" He cheered and held the dusk ball out and throwing it out. " Deino! Come on out!" From a dark exlplosive cloud the dark and dragon type pokemon came out looking around for its senses to adjust to the new environment. " Alright Deino. Go use bite!" The Deino's head jerked up hearing the command and with its sense of smell dashed at the fire monkey pokemon. When it's jaws opened it leaped at the pokemon to clamp down onto it with bite. |

Through the smoke and embers, Chili watched the steel type fall, and it was soon to pass that it was returned to its pokeball through defeat. He could give credit where credit was due, the aura Pokemon was strong and could prove to be a formidable partner, but it seemed this young trainer had much to learn about his travels. The Lucario was returned to its Pokeball, but the challenger was still rearing to go as he came out with another Pokeball. "Your tenacity is fiery, don't let that go," Chili commented with a genuine smile, and his Pansear gave a cry in response and a bounce on his hind legs, happy with how the battle was going. From the challenger's next Pokeball, a more native Pokemon he was a little familiar with emerged, a Deino. In his time as a gym leader with his brothers and having to commune with other gym leaders, he was familiar with Isis in Opelucid city whom had her trusted partner Hydreigon and knew what the dragon was capable of. The smaller dragon type came out onto the field and the challenger seemed to be a bit ambitious and gave an immediate command. Chili watched the Deino hesitate for only a moment, trying to orient itself, and that was all the chance he needed to get back into the battle. "Pansear, get in there with your claws," Chili called for his partner, and the monkey huffed as it lunged forward on its paws, rushing towards the Deino in turn. Pansear raised its claws and caught the Deino in its rush, scratching with its claws against the thick fur and claws. The dragon was quick to react though and caught one of the fire type's legs in a bite with its mouth as the Pansear had tried to adjust itself for another set of strikes. "Pansear, use your momentum," Chili called as the monkey gave a shrill cry at the force of the bite, but it wasn't down for the count yet as it tried to move within the confines of the dragon's grasp, swinging its body to try and gain some ground and began scratching again with its protracted claws. With the claws striking multiple times it made really fast work of the Dieno causing it to faint quickly. Skylar recalled the Pokémon and grabbed another poke ball. “I’m counting on you! Go Amaura!” The pokeball explodes open and within the bright light came the ice Dino Pokémon as her body sparkles when she appeared on the field. “Go use Icy Wind!” The Amaura’s crystals started to glow as she reared her head back and used her icy wind attack.
