Cyren Braithwaite At least her enthusiasm about the Poliwag appeared somewhat genuine. Cyren followed her gaze down the beach until he saw the pier. She did have a point. The Pokemon might have fun if they took them to play up there, though he was certain her own interest in the pier was what motivated her to point it out. He completely ignored her request to hand the board over to her. Instead he turned, grabbing Llorona and picking her up as well. While her weight in addition to the surfboard's did cause him some discomfort, he didn't show it. He hoped if he proved she didn't need to treat him like he was helpless she would be willing to drop the subject. "Try not to let your Pokemon wander too far. It'll be a long night if one of them gets lost." If they were going to the pier then Llorona was going to be in charge of watching her own Pokemon. "Venus, gather up the other four, please." He called back to his Machop, leaving her in charge of keeping bother teams together- at least until they get to the pier. He carried Llorona over to their things, setting her down so she collect her bag and placing the surfboard in the sand just long enough to put his hoodie on. His scarred body had never bothered him but he knew some people might find his appearance unsettling. "You were still little the last time I rode a ferris-wheel. You were afraid of how high up it went and refused to go on it alone. I agreed to go with you." He said suddenly, grinning down at his sibling and patting her head. "I never could figure out why you wanted to go on the thing when you were so afraid of it."
"It's nice to meet you too, Pui! You're really cute~!" Rhea, of course, ran over to greet the Poliwag. Her excitement got the better of her and she pressed her nose against the Poliwag's cheek. Had Venus not grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and pulled her back she would have continued to try to cuddle Pui. "Rhea, calm down." The Machop ordered in a stern tone that caused the Litten to sit and stare at the ground quietly. "S-sorry." She muttered apologetically, her ears drooping slightly. She really hadn't meant any harm. Venus held the Litten in place until she was sure she wasn't going to run over to the Poliwag again. When Rhea seemed calm she let go, waving at the others before going to round up the other four Pokemon that had been hanging out away from them. She was expecting Rhea to behave while she was helping their trainer out. Rhea watched Venus walk around, still carrying Yami as she tried to dig the two Rock types out of the sand. "That can't be fun." She commented, watching poor Yami flail his legs about. "Where do you guys think we're going next?" She asked Deadeye and Pui excitedly, practically bouncing in place. The little Litten was still full of energy.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 36/25 Wild Encounter: 36/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 12/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona Braithwaite"Cyren Braithwaite!! Don't be an asshole, put me down!" From the moment he scooped her up with his free arm, Llorona Braithwaite wanted to do two things. One of them was complimenting his physical strength. She had known he was strong, and it wasn't like she was all that heavy - but one-handed while also carrying a surfboard was pretty impressive. The second thing was the thrash in his grip and give him a nice curled fist for treating her like luggage. The instant Llorona curled her fist to do so however, she found herself groaning and going limp instead. Not because the woman was afraid he was going to hit her back, and not even because she was afraid he would be upset. The reason she never lifted a finger against Cyren was the same reason why she didn't want to be carried - there was always the possibility that she could hurt him accidentally. So in the end, after doing neither of the two conflicting things that she had dreamt up while she watched the sand pass by, Llorona merely resorted to whining irritably. Stubborn as a mule and strong as an ox. The singular sentence could probably have best summed up her brother except for the fact that he was clearly stronger than any ox she had ever seen. "Cyren! C'mon, you aren't impressing anyone, just put me d- Oh." Blinking a few times when she was set down, Llorona adjusted her towel and gave Cyren her best stern look whilst collecting her bag and replacing her sandals. Unlike her brother, Llorona didn't actually have to call for her Pokemon, the few that had been sleeping falling into a line behind herself and the Rowlet that was flying circles above her and chirping annoyingly. Anyone taking a quick glance at the woman might have seen this as a fantastic reflection of her training skills - to have her Pokemon immediately gather whenever she required them to. But to anyone who actually bothered to look, it was something closer to the fear of being left behind as a result of her lack of attention to detail. When Cyren took the moment to pull the hooded sweatshirt over his head, Llorona made a quick break for the board, attempting to tug it from the sand only to stop and timidly lean against it as if she had never tried. The attempt was laughable - but before the black haired female could even open her mouth to protest carrying her own items she found herself blushing a bit. "I-I don't remember that at all!" She was lying, obviously. With a sigh she dragged her foot through the sand a bit, rolling her eyes and swatting his hand away when he began to pet her. "I wasn't even scared, I was just nervous, okay? it was super big and it was making noises that I didn't like - I was just a kid by the way!" Becoming so lost in her own rant that Llorona completely forgot she had just contradicted herself for a second, the woman eventually simmered down and began to pout, crossing her arms and starting off towards the pier without another word. Honestly, she had not expected him to remember something like that... In fact, if she wasn't so afraid someone was going to see it, Llorona probably would have smiled. "C-cute? I'm not really...Oh, the touching again." Pui really couldn't find another way to phrase the affection she was receiving today. She had spent her entire life in an aquarium where people could watch her and her friends swim around - but NEVER touch them through the glass. There were no words to describe just how thankful she was when the Machop came and put a stop to the Litten and her lack of understanding on how personal space actually worked. Anymore touching and Pui probably would have been helplessly blowing bubbles again! She glanced down at the Litten when the fighting type held her in place, one part happy to be rid of her, and equal parts sympathetic. The poor thing looked like someone had just eaten the last of the algae in the tank. "It's okay. I just.. Don't really like being touched. W-we can still be friends if you wanna~" She offered, shivering when the grass owl flew past her to wherever he was in a hurry to be. Deadeye watched the exchange between Poliwag and Litten with more than a bit of amusement up until Venus grabbed Rhea. He knew the Machop meant nothing by it, but he still couldn't explain the bit of irritation he felt regardless. Since they were clearly leaving, Deadeye decided he wasn't going to let Venus do all of the work - floating around him and chirping as loud as he could to get the attention of Llorona's other Pokemon. "C'mon guys! If we don't follow her you know she's gonna forget one of us! Move it Stumpy, don't get left behind!" He managed in his best sing-song voice. Once Venus had assisted and the entirety of the group seemed to have shaken off their varying amounts of sleep and or sand, the Rowlet came to a hover beside Llorona, glancing back to ensure that everyone was following before he returned his attention to his trainer. 'She is smiling?' Deadeye thought curiously, his head twitching while they walked. Llorona was weird. JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE
As the noise and draft of rapidly spinning helicopter blades preceded the arrival of Jasper, Rex, and Lucky, the citizens of Hau'oli City were nearly finished with the efforts of cleaning up the damage caused by the Nihilego. To these people, they had very recently been fended off. To Jasper and the others however, it felt like days since their ticket-collecting and game-playing had been so interrupted. After everything they had seen over the past few hours just about anyone would be after a long break on the beach. The trio of thugs were much more interested on keeping their heads down and faces hidden just in case they were noticed. Th ringleader of this ragtag group was a wanted fugitive, after all.
The first thing they did was to slip into the Pokemon Center. Knowing the Nurse would have been given Jasper's description, Rex and Lucky took all ten of their Pokemon up to the front desk while he decided to hang back and pretend to look at some fliers posted by the automatic doors. Undoubtedly owing to the rampage that had destroyed the tents and festivities, the Nurse was far too busy to pay attention to strangers standing around and minding their own business. She brusquely informed the boys that their Pokemon would be healed as soon as possible and that they were more than welcome to wait around. They too walked over to read some papers, taking care not to look suspicious.
Now that he knew what the expected wait time would be, Jasper told the others where to meet him and then left. Rex fell back into a chair to wait, stretching out and yawning. Lucky - the smarter of the two - actually had been reading some of the printed and posted pages taped to the wall. Apparently since the festival's untimely end, a number of Pokemon and People had gone missing. The suspected blame was being placed on those strange and foreign monsters, but Lucky had been right there when all this had gone down. He'd seen just about everything those beasts had done between appearing and vanishing again - and they hadn't eaten or abducted anyone.
Now that was very odd. He tried to think what might be happening - he knew that Team Rocket and other criminal organizations had come to Alola in the past, but they weren't quite this good at concealing their movements or motives as far as he knew. His distracted thinking and Rex's timely nap got them through the next hour and before they knew it Nurse Joy was announcing that their Pokemon were feeling much better now. They took their Pokemon with false smiles and not-meant thanks before setting out to meet their fearless leader. He'd told them exactly where he would be, but he wasn't there. They looked around a little before settling themselves down to wait. Lucky couldn't help thinking about those disappearances and worrying that their boss had set out without any Pokemon to protect him in a city where something unknown was stalking people and snatching them up.

Cyren Braithwaite Cyren was convinced he had heard his full name used to scold him more times in just the one day with Llorona than he had in all of the years that he had been gone. He was also ninety percent certain Llorona would actually hit him if he pointed out she sounded almost like a more excitable version of their mother. His sibling was an interesting creature. He could only describe what followed as "awkward flailing" as she made a move for the surfboard before trying to claim she wasn't afraid of the ferris wheel before she continued on down the shore. He let her walk ahead a bit, taking a couple extra seconds to take Yami from Venus and secure him on his arm. The Kabuto had worn himself out with all of his struggling and remained silent as ever when Cyren began to move. Walking didn't even bother him right now. Sitting on Cyren's arm while he followed Llorona to the pier was a peaceful experience in comparison to being carried around by the Machop. At least he didn't have to worry about his trainer accidentally dropping him. The Machop was strong but carrying him was probably still pretty awkward for the other Pokemon. "What do you want to do first?" Cyren asked when he caught up to Llorona, shifting the surfboard in his arms as carefully as he could without disturbing Yami. He did not want to get bitten a second time. The first time he had been lucky enough to escape with only a scratch. He didn't want to press his luck if he didn't have to.
"You are totally cute~! You're so round and squishy~! It's adorable~!" Rhea meowed at the Poliwag but did not go to touch her this time around. She didn't want to be scolded by Venus again. The Fighting Type was very intimidating when she wanted to be. "Friends would be good! Maybe eventually you'll warm up to cuddles and I can cuddle you too~!" The Litten sounded more than a bit hopeful. She was a physically affectionate creature. To her snuggling something was the best way to make sure it knew she liked it. She would just have to make sure to tell Pui how much she liked her until she decided cuddles were allowed! She purred at the thought of being able to snuggle the Water Type before hopping up and running after her trainer. The other were already already of them! They were going to fall behind if they didn't hurry. Getting lost would be terrible. "Come on, Pui~! Before they leave without us!" She called back to the Poliwag, nearly tripping over her own feet as she ran along the sand. The rest of her team was following right along behind their trainer by the time she caught up to them. She decided to walk beside Venus- mostly because it meant she didn't have to stand near the Rockruff. He had decided to walk in the very back of the group. His friendly smile only made her cringe as she tried to focus on staring ahead towards their destination. He was really weird.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 37/25 Wild Encounter: 37/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 13/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE "Hey, you, stop there!" A voice cut through the bustling city. Rex and Lucky looked up. There, just a bit further down the street, they could see Magnus being chased by a Police Officer. "Stop that crook!" The Officer shouted to them. It seemed this Officer of the Law had not recognized them as his usual cohorts. He gave them exasperated looks as Jasper ran past them and they made no move to stop him. "What the..." His look of annoyance changed to fear as Rex swung a large fist into the Cop's face. He'd been running and obviously hadn't seen it coming so he stumbled off and went crashing back into two metal trash bins.
They toppled, he toppled, then Rex and Lucky fell on him like a pack of hyenas. They kicked him over and over while he was down. Rex picked up one of the fallen metal cans, raised it over his head, and brought it down on the Cop. "Get him up." Jasper ordered, and the guys obliged. They hoisted the near-unconscious man up, having to support him. They were watching their boss now, trying to figure out what he was up to. Not that it mattered really. They were loyal and wouldn't bother trying to stop him.
It was Lucky who noticed it first. "Hold him still." Jasper drew back and slammed his fist into the Cop's face. The impact and damage were far beyond what should have been. They kept him in place for their leader to hit him two more times with the brass knuckles. When they released him and he fell to the ground, his face was barely recognizable as a face. He was still alive, but barely. Removing the weapon from his fingers, he wiped the Cop's blood from both his hand and weapon off on the Police Uniform. Now that there was barely even movement from the body to indicate breathing, Jasper searched The Pig's pockets and came away with a rare black Pokeball. "It'll do. Let's go." JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE Little did they know that they were being watched. Had, in fact, been watched ever since they'd entered this alley. A strange creature sat perched on the rooftop above them. It stared at the three Humans with interest. Their merciless behavior and cruel nature appealed to the escaped Ultra Beast. The Kartana had avoided notice because, as Burnet had told them, their devices and scanners had gone crazy. It was impossible for them to pick up every Ultra Beast and portal to appear over the Alola Region.
It floated down from the rooftop, hovering about a foot from the ground near them. Jasper and the others knew at once that this was another Ultra Beast - it had the exact same energy and power they'd had. Jasper simply acted on impulse, grabbing out the special Pokeball they'd been given. It was supposedly the only thing that could catch them. He threw it, and in a rather uneventful fashion, it drew the creature in and sealed shut. He'd captured one of those Ultra Beasts at last. This was perfect, something with so much destructive potential would be the perfect addition to his team.

Llorona BraithwaiteWalking with her arms crossed in an exaggerated manner, Llorona actually flipped her hair at one point to show the annoyance she felt. 'Oh god, I really just did that. What a pain in the butt he is.' She thought, hating herself for the girly action but continuing onward anyway. The beach itself hadn't been as much fun as expected given her discovery regarding Cyren's back - a topic she was still very much putting into play once they'd made their way back to the hotel, but even just that one wave for a few seconds brought a bit of warmth to the woman. She needed to go to the beach as much as possible during this trip if she hoped to maintain her sanity to any degree. "Hm? You remember the Ferris-wheel incident but you don't know how these things work?" Llorona offered an exasperated sigh, holding her arms out on either side of her in a helpless gesture. This was in no way a date of course, but she had been to several amusement parks with boys who wanted her family's money - if she were lucky. They always proceeded the same way! He played a few games, Llorona would pretend to be bad at most of them if the boy were lucky, they would try their hearts out to win her a prize! After that came snacks and the inevitable rides section of the date where everything always went downhill for any male she found herself accompanied by. The thought of such mundane activity was surprisingly amusing to the woman, her eyes catching the lights off of the various machines while she began to ascend the mountain of stairs that lead up to the side of the pier. "C'mon Cy~ I want to get cotton candy... Do they even have that here?" Despite her sarcastic tone Llorona was very serious. The food here had been good so far but she would have been lying had she said that it wasn't exotic. sugary treats were not something she was looking to explore today, however. Stumbling along on her small feet, Pui tried to ignore the Litten's compliments to the best of her ability for the sake of maintaining the color blue for at least one portion of the day. Being embarrassed constantly was making the Poliwag look almost sunburnt. They were a weird group overall. Between the barrage of compliments and the constant need for physical contact between everyone involved - Pui wasn't even sure she could handle being Llorona's Pokemon for very long. "Maybe." The little water-type offered, hoping to drop the subject completely so that she could focus on walking. Humans had longer legs, and the litten had twice as many! At least the Roggenrola and Bonsly were moving at the same pace as she was! Deadeye continued to fly in close proximity to his trainer, watching the pretty, multi-colored lights and squawking happily at them. "Guys look! They got all sorts of neat stuff up here to play with!" He called down to the other Pokemon while his eyes became dizzy upon seeing the tilt-a-whirl. Everything looked and smelled amazing up here! By the time Llorona had made her way to the bottom of the staircase leading to the pier and all of its attractions, Deadeye had become completely intoxicated by the lights and sounds of people, swooping up and perching himself along a light post so that he could observe this place and all of its glory. "This is going to be way more fun than the beach." He chittered to himself until his trainer's head appeared at the last section of stairs, her eyes shooting an almost envious look at the Rowlet who only ed his head to the side in confusion. She looked tired now for some reason. Cyren Braithwaite "I can't say I do. This isn't exactly something I do often." Cyren didn't prioritize social activities most of the time. While he had memories of events from when he was younger, he hadn't bothered with things like the pier since he left home. Everything appeared rather basic to him. Rides, games, and food- all easy things to make sense of. The hardest task was going to be keeping up with the Pokemon. His Kabuto shifted on his arm, turning himself just enough to stare up at one of the lights for all of five seconds before hissing at it. Yami and the pier were not going to get along with one another. "Maybe this one should avoid the rides." Cyren commented as he patted the Kabuto's shell. If the lights were enough to disturb the skittish Pokemon then he wouldn't dare bring him near anything that moved more than the Kabuto would consider necessary. Cyren glanced back to make sure all of the Pokemon had kept up with the trainers. There were a lot of stairs for them to climb up. He hoped the few that had tiny legs and no arms wouldn't have too much difficulty. He wouldn't mind helping them up if he had to. When he joined his sibling at the top of the stairs he stood her surfboard up against the railing, stretching himself out until his back produced a borderline unhealthy popping sound. "So...games first then?" He asked, looking back down the stairs to check on their Pokemons' progress. Both his Rockruff and Ledyba had already made it up but Rhea and Venus had stayed behind to help out Llorona's Pokemon.
"What meanie designs something like this and doesn't take Pokemon without arms into consideration?" Rhea whined as she tried to help push Stump and Pebbles up the stairs. This was cruel! Humans were so mean! She mewled and whined up until Venus grabbed both Rock Type Pokemon and shrugged. "I don't think the humans had Pokemon in mind when they designed this. It's a structure for humans. Most Pokemon would be in their Pokeballs when their trainers come through here." Or they would have a trainer decent enough to actually take them into consideration and help them out. She expected Llorona had completely forgotten about her Pokemon in her excitement to get to the pier. "They still should have added something for Pokemon! Not everyone has legs or arms!" Rhea pouted as she hopped back down the stairs to she could follow along behind Pui. If the Poliwag had any trouble she would try to help push her up. She couldn't carry things like Venus could. "Some day I'll be a bigger kitty and you guys will be able to ride on my back! Getting up things like this would be easy then!" She honestly had no idea what she was going to evolve into but she liked to think it would be something helpful enough to get her friends up any pesky stairs they came across. "We'll be up soon~!" She called up to Deadeye, watching as Venus carried Stumpy and Pebbles up to the top of the stairs before returning to assist the Poliwag as well. "If you want me to carry you let me know." She offered, not wanting to touch the Water Type without her permission.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 38/25 Wild Encounter: 38/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 14/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona Braithwaite"What a hopeless boy you are. Never gonna find a cute girl if you don't even know the basic concept behind an amusement park date." Llorona, for all of the discomfort she felt over climbing that mountain of stairs, still managed to stick her tongue out at the sibling below her attempting to wait for their team. She should have been a lot more serious about the statement she'd made. In all honesty, the woman probably would have been - except that his lack of understanding had given her quite the idea. By the time Cyren had joined his little sister at the top of the stairs, she stood, hands planted on both hips and a sly smirk glued to her face. "Definitely going to want to put your Kabuto back into its ball Mister. Also yes - games first... You are the luckiest man in this entire region because for the remainder of your evening I am gonna be your date~!" She grinned wide at that point, drawing her fingers through her hair and giving Cyren a mocking twirl. Sure, it was going to be completely fake but Llorona could think of no better way to teach him how to charm a lady than to do it herself! Besides, as far as she was concerned this was gonna be a whole lot of fun... For her anyway. A quick glance down the stairs caused Llorona to wince at her pokemon. Of course they were all small, that was to be expected of unevolved pokemon. But with the exception of the one still in its ball, the Rowlet who was already topside, and the relatively nimble Rattata, her team was having some issues. She thought to head down and help out but... She was tired! Plus the Machop seemed to have everything under control! So Llorona turned her attention back to Cyren, who she imagined was probably pretty close to flaking out if his behavior thus far was anything to note. "I'm not taking no for an answer, by the way, so unless you feel like running away with that messed up back of yours I suggest you strap in and get ready. Llorona Braithwaite is not an easy woman to amuse~!" She anticipated this would probably make her brother more than a little uncomfortable, possibly rivaling the sound his back made when he twisted it. But she was the leader after all! This was the price he would pay for giving the day to her. Deadeye had become so lost in the lights and festive spirit of the pier that he forgot about the other pokemon! Deadeye hopped in place enough to adjust himself so that he could peer down the stairs, frowning as best as one with a beak could when he saw the issues they seemed to be having. He should have stopped to help them! "Rhea! Are you okay?" He called to her while they scampered up the steps. The Roggenrola and the Bonsly were easily assisted by Venus but it stood to reason the poor Poliwag would not be so easy to move. "Someday you are going to be even more beautiful~!" Where the comment had come from was anyone's guess, but the Rowlet puffed up in embarrassment anyway, shaking his feathers until they returned to their usual state and caused him to go silent. "Meeehhhh!" Unlike the other two, Pui was determined to make it up the stairs without anyone's help! Unfortunately for the Poliwag, arms and actual legs were not the only things that she lacked. A failure to stand tall meant the poor pokemon had absolutely no idea just how many stairs she was supposed to be climbing! By the time the others had reached the top (and the Machop had returned a third of the way down to find her), Pui was breathing a little heavy, her quick hops from step to step becoming timed, cautious hops one at a time. "...I-I can do it...." Pui reddened, blowing a singular bubble while she wagged her tail and prepared for the next step. That step never quite came, the Poliwag falling onto her face and whining irritably. Between swimming, pushing the board, the walk, and now these stairs - she was pooped! "P-please help. I'm sorry." The water-type stated with her face buried in the wooden stairs. JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE "Where to now, Boss?" Rex asked, as Lucky stood staring down at the unmoving figure beside them. Jasper did not answer right away. He was trying to decide how best to figure out what this Ultra Beast could do without drawing attention to them as it went on some sort of rampage through the town. Everyone was on edge and on their guard here and the rest of the Police force would surely swoop down upon them in a heartbeat... and now that they had assaulted - possibly killed - an Officer, their chances of escaping life in prison were slim to none.
Finally all that thinking payed off. "Alright, listen up. I want you to call Buck and tell him to meet us..." The orders kept coming for a few minutes, finally ending in a unanimous decision that they would take a little trip to the pier. With all of these Cops helping with the restoration of the City, it was bound to be unguarded and nobody was likely to recognize them there; it was a tourist trap, the locals tended to avoid it. They set off, keeping low and keeping to the alleys and shadows wherever possible. It was easy for these three because they'd spent most of their life sneaking around big Cities and stealing from those very same Tourists.
The lights were bright. The noise was loud. The crowds were obnoxiously thick. These made for perfect conditions to pickpocket the unsuspecting. The thing was, Jasper didn't care about pickpocketing anyone right now. They had more important matters to attend to. While the noise of machines and people alike made it impossible to be overheard, it also made it impossible for Rex and Lucky to hear him. So he didn't even bother. By now they had a series of hand gestures trailing back all the way through their childhood - a code, not unlike what one might find in Soldiers. Jasper held up a hand and they paused just long enough for him to look around.Wearing - Default outfit. Thinking - Finally over! Out of Pokeball

Cyren Braithwaite "Dating isn't exactly a priority of mine." Cyren was coming to regret letting Llorona be in charge for the day. His expression didn't show it though. Judging by how she was acting, this "date" was going to be a great way to test just how far his patience could go before it reached its limits. She was correct about one thing though- Yami was going to need to go back in his Pokeball. The Kabuto seemed to find something new to hiss at every time he shifted his position. "Easy, little guy. It's okay." He reassured the Pokemon, stroking his shell gently. "Do you want to go back in your Pokeball for now?" He asked him, not wanting to return the Pokemon before he confirmed he was okay with it. They were supposed to be having fun. He didn't want Yami to feel like he was being excluded. The Kabuto stopped hissing at the mention of his Pokeball. He took this as a sign of approval and returned the Kabuto. "I really need to see if there's something that can be done for his eyes." He mused before turning his attention back to Llorona. "It's a date then. What game do you want to play first?" He asked with the most charming smile he could manage. He was going to view the night as a challenge. No matter what silly thing she decided to do, he would go right along with it. Cyren was every bit as stubborn as his sibling was when he wanted to be. This was one of those times.
Rhea stopped mid-step to look up at Deadeye. The Litten's face was as red as could be but she wore the happiest little smile. She meowed up at him, her ears twitching cutely. "And you're going to look amazing~! You'll be the coolest birdy~!" She called back to him, purring until she recalled what she was supposed to be doing. If she didn't pay attention she might not be able to catch Pui if she fell! She looked at the Poliwag, wishing she could push her up the stairs. As soon as she fell the Litten mewled and ran up the steps to her, pressing herself against the Poliwag to make sure she couldn't slip and fall. She seemed pretty stable on the step but the Litten wasn't going to take any chances. It was a very long way down for such a tiny Pokemon! She remained right where she was until Venus picked up the Poliwag. How the Machop wasn't exhausted was beyond her. She had gone up the stairs once already and had come right back down! That was a lot of stairs to climb. "No need to apologize. I'll set you down at the top." Venus made her way back up the steps with the Litten in tow, setting Pui down when they reached the top. "There you go. Are you three okay?" The Machop looked over Pui, Pebbles, and Stumpy carefully. Stairs were not kind to Pokemon that lacked the appropriate limbs to climb them.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 38/25 Wild Encounter: 38/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 14/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona Braithwaite"Ya' don't say?" She retorted almost instantly, stepping alongside Cyren with all of the charm and zeal of a charismatic serial killer, her arms wrapping around one of his own so that she could hold him a moment and grin up at her big brother. This was going to be a whole lot of fun, even if it wasn't. There was next to a zero percent chance Cyren was actually going to enjoy any bit of their 'date' but in a way, that almost made it better for Llorona! He was definitely stubborn enough to play along, and much too headstrong to quit - which meant the woman would have every opportunity to embarrass him if she tried hard enough. 'This just went from a cute and educational learning experience to a very creepy contest in record time.' She beamed up and Cyren and gave his arm a squeeze with her small frame before stepping away so that he could deal with the Kabuto. The last thing she wanted was to be bitten by that thing while they were moving around - the creature was NOT fond of the pier in any way. Before Cyren had even phrased his question, Llorona had found already focused on the many booths and the different games that were offered by the amusement park. Most of them were pretty basic in nature, toss the hoop around the bottlenecks, shoot the little paper targets, toss darts at balloons... She took a moment to cast her eyes on each one in careful consideration before they finally fell on one particular booth that made her grin. "I'll show you~!" Looking back at her brother for a brief moment as she took his hand, the woman's eye twitched at the smile he had waiting for her, causing Llorona to redden just slightly and squint at Cyren. Maybe he was taking this a little more seriously than she thought? About the only redeeming quality of flat-out embarrassing himself in front of Rhea was that she seemed to react positively? Or she seemed to be - it was hard to tell over the blush the small feline wore. When she mentioned his potential evolution, Deadeye squeaked automatically, fluttering up and perching himself upon Cyren's shoulder so that he wouldn't have to look at her anymore. Not that the Rowlet didn't want to... He just couldn't! She was too cute! The little owl began to preen himself absently, focusing on whatever it was that the humans intended to do while they were here. Something about his trainer was scaring him, which wouldn't have meant much since she always scared him except that this time it seemed a little more intentional. The human was up to something and whatever it was seemed geared toward the trainer he was sitting on. "Good luck buddy." He chirped quietly into Cyren's ear. Pui didn't bother to move around at all when the Machop picked her up - as much as she did not like being touched, he was doing her an invaluable favor. "T-thank you. Venus right?" She asked quietly while they ascended the steps. Unlike the others, this one was calm, polite, relaxed even. When her little feet next hit the floor Pui struggled for a second, wobbling back and forth until her balance returned so that she could look up at her little savior and smile. "I will be now. T-thank y-you. You helped Pui." Pausing a moment as if very unsure, the little Poliwag closed the gap between herself and Venus and nuzzled him very lightly for a second. After that of course she turned red and gained a burst of energy that allowed her to run over near her human's legs. That was about all the affection she could manage for one day! Cyren Braithwaite As soon as she grabbed his had he wrapped his arm around his sibling, that charming smile never leaving his face. "Are you feeling alright, sis? You turned red so suddenly." He commented playfully, hugging her close to himself while he waited for her to lead him to whatever booth she had chosen first. He was well aware just how unsettling the contest was going to be but...he had no intention of giving up. As far as he was concerned there wasn't going to be a winner. The goal was to not be the first one to tap out. All he had to do was tolerate the awkwardness longer than Llorona. "Do you think it'll be fine with we leave the surfboard here for now?" He asked suddenly, recalling they were technically supposed to be carrying that around. Cyren glanced at the board, then down at his Machop. Venus didn't appear particularly interested in anything on the pier but he didn't want to just leave her to watch after the surfboard if she wanted to follow them. "Venus? Are you fine with watching it for us?" The Machop glanced at the surfboard then nodded. She had been busy watching the little Poliwag up until that point, trying to make sure she didn't fall while she made her way over to the trainers. The Poliwag was much too cute for her own good. "Thank you, my dear." Cyren smiled at his Machop as she sat down next to the surfboard. His attention turned to the Rowlet that had just landed on his shoulder from there. He had absolutely no idea what the Pokemon had actually said to him but he grinned and shrugged a bit all the same. "It'll be fine." He whispered to the Pokemon, hoping he had at least gotten some of the message correct.
Rhea followed right along behind the trainers. She wished she could perch on Cyren's shoulders like the Rowlet could. Her little paws were getting tired from all the walking! She was sure once they started exploring the pier she was sure she would get some of her energy back but after walking up so many stairs the little kitty was tired. She yawned, rubbing up against Cyren and Llorona's legs while she waited for them to begin walking again. Her absentminded circles around them continued right up until she tripped while walking by Mars. The Litten ended up falling flat on her face! She mewled until Cyren picked her up. "Are you okay?" The Rockruff called up to her, a much too innocent smile on his face. She had no way of proving it but she was convinced the Rock Type had been what had caused her to fall. Rhea decided to ignore him, resting against her trainer while she licked at a bruise on her leg. She would not allow the Rock Type to bother her. They were supposed to be on the same team! He didn't need to like her but for her trainer's sake she was going to try to get along with him.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 39/25 Wild Encounter: 39/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 15/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona Braithwaite
"Oooh Boy, Here we go~." Llorona half whispered through a forced, toothy smile, reddening even further when he called her out so to speak. Cyren was certainly going to be taking this more seriously than she thought. Not the date though, oh no, his interest was the same as hers now - in the contest. 'He is a Braithwaite after all.' Pulling herself out of the awkward hug but lacing their fingers together in a much more romantic fashion, the woman glanced back at the board. It could be useful if he had to carry it around, would keep the level of strangeness under control until she was composed enough to deal with Cyren. It could have, except the Machop named Venus was ready and willing to guard it. The pokemon had ruined her plan before she could even voice it! With a half sigh, Llorona decided to focus on their first destination, Tugging on her brother's hand and nodding towards the booth. "C'mon Cy~! I want my big bro- big strong man to show me how to play these games, I'm just a ditsy girl after all." The level of sarcasm in Llorona's voice could not have been any higher without physically hurting someone. That was perfectly fine with the girl, however, she now had a task that she intended to see through to the end. As the group approached the booth she had chosen from a distance, largely because it was something that she felt very confident in winning- even if Cyren was much stronger, Llorona turned and winked at Cyren playfully. The man behind in charge of the game was quite distracted when she leaned over the counter, the clearing of her throat waking the employee from the dazed expression he wore as he set down what she was certain was a very intimate novel and grinned up from his chair at the group. "Aloha everyone. Fancy yourselves a game of skill and marksmanship?" She grinned, her eyes already on the very large Ponyta plushy hanging along the top shelf. He proceeded to explain the rules of the very simple game while the woman zoned out herself. It couldn't have possibly been more simple. Throw the balls, knock over the bottles, win a prize. Of course, these games were always a little rigged - the bottles were small, some of them were much further back, and the carnival attendants always used a bit of shortening to make the bottles stick so they didn't fall over so easily. This did not worry Llorona. If her musclebound brother was as expected, he would knock a few over but come up short. She intended on completely embarrassing the male - Llorona knew the secrets to these things, where to hit, how to hit, that sort of thing. And through years of throwing things in school, and at people who irritated her, the woman was pretty confident that she would come out on top. "I'll have a go at it~ Mind if I go first Cy?" She asked in a mockingly sheepish tone, folding her hands before her and swaying back and forth whilst waiting for an answer. Dead's beak hung open when Cyren spoke back to him, every bit as in awe of the male as he looked. "Can you hear me?! Do you speak Rowlet?" The little Owl chirped happily even while he half knew there was simply a good chance that with Cyren being as perceptive as he was - the man had simply guessed his general statement. Still, with his attention drawn to the human he was riding on, he completely missed whatever had caused Rhea to fall and whine. "Rhea? Are you okay?" Deadeye asked, trying not to squeeze Cyren's shoulder in instinctive concern for the little feline. It was not easy, but he managed it once Cyren picked up Rhea and he could see she was... mostly okay? "Did you trip?" Being well aware that he was probably asking too many questions at once did not stop Deadeye from trying to make sure that Rhea was alright. He studied her while she licked at her wound, chittering in concern. That concern quickly turned to suspicion when the Rowlet processed what it was that Mars had said. Cats were naturally balanced and agile... Even if she was a bit tired it didn't make a whole lot of sense for her to randomly trip on flat ground. With a near hiss he turned his eyes on the Rockruff and squinted at him menacingly, the feathers on his neck standing up while he did so. The Rockruff was not a nice pokemon at all, and while that was okay, Deadeye had no intention of letting him harm Rhea or any of the others. "Grass beats rock." He muttered in reminder, drawing a few mixed whispers from the Roggenrola and the Bonsly following along behind them. Cyren Braithwaite 'Oooh boy. Here we go.' Cyren thought to himself with a small sigh when Llorona laced her fingers through his and began tugging him towards whatever booth she happened to take an interest in. "Just a ditsy girl? I suppose if that's what you want to be. Who am I to argue with my little sister? I'm only here to carry heavy things and apparently play random games on this pier." He responded in an almost equally sarcastic tone. Cy rolled his eyes at the booth she chose when he was sure she wasn't looking. This looked...promising. There was no was choosing the booth with the most dazed looking employee this side of the island could end badly for them! He carefully set his Litten on his shoulder, letting the Pokemon try to balance herself there. She needed a break from all of the walking and he didn't want to have to set her down whenever his turn came up. Cyren smiled pleasantly when Llorona finally managed to get the guy's attention, releasing her hand and stepping back as he gestured towards the booth. If Llorona wanted to go first then he wasn't going to argue with her. "After you, my dear bimbo sister~!" If his sister didn't end up slapping him by the end of the night he would be amazed. He wore a playful grin, appearing almost excited for once. This contest was way more fun than he was expected it to be. Cyren almost felt bad for the poor employee that was stuck dealing with the Braithwaite siblings...almost. He pointed to his sister before folding his arms neatly behind his back. "She's up first, sir." He tried his best to look like he was taking things seriously but it was impossible to keep that silly grin off of his face. The game was probably rigged and they were probably both going to lose. He was fine with that though. Watching how things ended up playing out was going to be more fun than the game itself.
When Cyren placed her on his shoulder the Litten crawled around behind his neck. There was an excellent spot to rest behind him and she could reach Deadeye better from there! She tapped her little paw against the Rowlet, meowing at him happily before climbing into Cyren's hood. She finally understood what the thing on the back of his hoodie was...It was a place for little Pokemon to sit! It was the perfect size for the Litten. She snuggled down into it, her pink bow poking out from the top of her hiding spot. "I'm okay~! I'm nice and comfy now~!" Rhea replied with a purr. Mars couldn't get her if she was hidden in Cy's hood! The Rockruff in question was looking up at the Rowlet, shrugging to the best of his ability when they had finally stopped. He wasn't worried about his threats. Deadeye had no way of proven he had done anything. If he decided to attack him then he would end up being the one that got in trouble. The attack would appear to be unprovoked. Mars sat down at Cyren's feet, barking up at him. The humans were going to play a game of some sort from the looks of it. "Do you guys think they'll beat whatever this is?" He asked the other two Rock Types, trying to look as friendly as possible. He could have a couple of accidental "friends" if Deadeye continued to threaten Rock Types as a whole.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 40/25 Wild Encounter: 40/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 16/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona BraithwaiteLlorona snorted as Cyren's sarcasm seeped from him like sweat on a hot day. As terrible a person as it made her, she rather liked this side of her brother no matter how annoying he was - it wasn't something she could ever really recall seeing, and certainly not anything he'd shown since returning home to fetch her. "That was an awful lot of words for you at once Cyren, do try not to strain yourself too much, I need what little brain cells you've got left to operate your legs." She stretched herself out a bit, adjusting the top she wore carefully and rolling her eyes at the employee. The man had no shame, but as flattering as it was, he was still making her a bit uneasy. Llorona peered at the target bottles, mainly focusing on their base. The ones with the least sticky residue would make for much easier targets as long as she made sure to hit them dead c- "Excuse me?" Her entire mental process came to a bit of a screeching halt when she turned back to Cyren. The woman's eye twitched not once, but continuously while she stared him down for several moments. 'A bimbo huh?' She thought, showing her brother the rows of white teeth she had whilst tossing the ball up a few times in consideration. If she hit him now, he won their game... and she knew that. "Why don't you watch and learn big guy." Llorona eventually offered in place of several very choice words she had wanted to use, turning her nose up at the larger sibling and whipping around to throw the ball without so much as a glance toward the bottles. A satisfying ringing sound followed up as the employee chuckled, clapping his hands a bit in amusement over the behavior of the two. As far as she was concerned, Cyren had just made her even better at the game.. so long as she pretended each of the bottles was his face there was no way she could lose! One after another - Llorona grunted, whipping ball after ball at carefully selected bottles, each of them falling effortlessly behind the force of her deceptively strong frame. With each of the bottles however the man running the prize booth seemed less and less enthused, his face resting in his palm by the time she had hit ten in a row. "I'll take the Ponyta Plushie please~!" Llorona giggled happily, stretching her arms towards the giant stuffed pokemon and wriggling her fingers. The man seemed to groan and stand, though paused halfway up the ladder to the chosen prize, turning a very particular eye to the woman and smirking. "Now I just remembered something! No one has ever hit ten in a row like you have... How would you like to take a gamble on a special prize little lady? With your skill, you'll be walking away with more than just a plushie, in fact..." He reached onto his waistband and pulled a Pokeball free, dangling it before her eyes and adding. "I've got myself a world class Ponyta inside this here ball. If you can hit the special target with a special ball and knock it over, It'll be all yours... Then you won't have to have the big man carrying all your stuff around. Good riddance right?' Llorona Braithwaite had every opportunity to tell herself that this was obviously too rigged to win. From the expression he wore to the much smaller bottle CLEARLY held to it's post far in the back by some sort of adhesive sitting much too far away - everything about this screamed failure. But he appealed to her greed, the woman scooping up another ball just as the man wiggled a finger and reached into his belt - tossing her a smaller, lighter ball and stepping down from the ladder. "Tsk' No problem. Looks like you are out of a job there Cy." Her tongue hung out just slightly while she focused on her target, taking an almost ironic pitching stance, kicking her leg up, and letting the ball fly with a near battle-like roar. When the Rowlet seemed to be inferring that both Stumpy and pebbles were inferior to it in some way, the Bonsly sheepishly hid behind the Roggenrola who took a few steps closer to Cyren, looking up at the owl and shaking his bulky form as best he could. "You think yourself better than me? Haven't you heard the human expression for killing two birds with one stone? If I hadn't been engaged with both another Pokemon and Llorona you would have never beaten me. It's just that simple." If Pebble's battle with the much stronger Golbat from early in the day hadn't shown its near y level of confidence, this surely did - the rock Pokemon holding a steady gaze with the Rowlet before shifting it's attention to the Rockruff. Unlike the others, Pebbles had been behind everyone but the Bonsly and was fairly certain that Mars was very much up to no good. That being said, however, Mars was not picking on him - not his problem. "Meh. I didn't mean you Pebbles, you aren't a meanie like Mars is. That puppy is no good." Even if Deadeye had beaten Pebbles and caused him to be captured, he really hadn't meant to provoke his own teammate! That being said, he chirped sheepishly at the Roggenrola and squawked a well-deserved apology to Stumpy. Mars... well he sort of just ignored Mars. "I am glad you are comfy! That pocket is Litten sized!" Deadeye laughed, attempting to return Rhea's affection only to jump when his trainer roared as if she were in her own battle. The very, very sad whine and... selection of words she used next were not something he recognized, even if he understood the human langauge. She had definitely hit the bottle but it barely budged! "If the point of this game is to hit the bottles I think she won but... That last one didn't fall." The statement wasn't directed to anyone in particular, though all of Llorona's Pokemon who had seen the ball bounce off of the target shared the same sentiment. The employee had definitely cheated! The Rowlet cawed in disapproval even while the man began to explain some type of extra special deal? Cyren Braithwaite Cyren had managed to make her angry. This didn't stop him from grinning like an idiot- especially when she told him to watch and learn. He raised his hands up, trying his best to appear helpless. He was failing miserably. Her anger proved to be beneficial though. The employee's enthusiasm might have died off with every bottle she knocked down but his did not. He clapped his hands when she managed to knock down ten of the bottles, impressed that his sister managed to put her irritation to good use instead of just yelling at him. Of course that meant he was going to have another thing to carry- or at least he thought he was. Greed got the better of the young woman. "Llorona-" Cyren started to scold her when she accepted the offer. He sighed and shook his head. This was not going to end well. The game was so clearly rigged that Yami would have been able to see it and not panic. As expected the ball hit the target...and the bottle barely moved. That was fine though. He had a plan and a very upset Kabuto. He released the Kabuto on to his arm, ignoring the loud hiss he received in response. He did not like the lights nearby in the slightest. "What happened there, sis? Did you miss? I can't imagine it was that hard to hit. Even Yami could hit it." The sarcasm in his voice was almost painful. He held the Kabuto up for her to see, whispering quietly enough so only the panicking Pokemon could hear him. "Blizzard. Straight ahead." The Kabuto he held hissed loudly, unleashing his icy attack on the booth. He had, fortunately, missed both Llorona and the employee- which was pure dumb luck on the part of the employee. The bottles and stand, however, had been frozen over! "Oh! I'm sorry about that. He's a nervous little thing." Cyren quickly returned the Kabuto, making a mental note to find a nice treat for him later. The employee looked more than a bit annoyed with him but Cyren was sure that was fine...so long as he agreed to pay. "Let me give it a try this time, sis." He offered with a small smile. Cyren didn't wait for her to respond. He took one of the light balls from the irritated employee, throwing it at the bottle without a second thought. He still had to throw the ball pretty hard but it fell all the same. "Oh. Looks like we won." Cyren grinned and shrugged, stepping back to Llorona could claim her promised prize from the employee- who somehow appeared even less thrilled than he had before. He hadn't expected the man to be capable of a less enthused expression. The look on his face was totally worth it.
Both Rhea and Mars missed the exchange between Deadeye and Pebbles. Their attention was fixed on Cyren as soon as they heard Yami hiss. The Kabuto did not sound happy. Both Pokemon ducked as soon as they heard Yami unleash a fierce Blizzard attack on the stand before being returned by their trainer. "Do you think Yami is okay?" Rhea asked Deadeye with a frown. She couldn't see the Kabuto from her perch in her trainer's hood but he was clearly upset about being released from his Pokeball. The lights must have been very scary for him. "What happened? Did the trainers win this time?" She tried lifting herself up out of the hood so she could see over Cyren's shoulder. Sure enough the bottle had been knocked over. Rhea meowed excitedly and patted her trainer's head. "Good trainer! You did the thing!"SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 41/25 Wild Encounter: 41/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 17/20 (Holiday Posting) Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona BraithwaiteWas she going on a bit of a tangent regarding the obvious trap she had fallen into? Yes. Was she also making threats of impossible violence against the employee whose infuriatingly sly smile made her want to jump over the counter and tear his face away? Yes. Was the length of said tangent causing her face to turn red with the effort of using so many un-lady-like words in such a short period of time? Absolutely! Llorona couldn't be bothered with the details however, her small frame bent over the counter while she continued to exasperate herself - pointing an accusing finger at the man until she had completely run out of breath to speak. "Are you done ma'am?" He asked, causing the woman to slam her fist against the counter and growl at him... And then hold said fist against herself and whine. That had hurt! "Am I done?! Ohh..." Her body curled a bit in a conflicted fashion. She had jumped hurdles bigger than this counter in school and that guy was definitely asking for it! But as much as she wanted to hit the employee - Cyren had somehow managed to out do him and take his place as the center of her frustration. "Cy...."She spun in her sandals and locked eyes with her brother, completely overlooking the fact that he was holding a very angry pokemon and taking a few steps towards him with the intention of slapping her Cyren. She was not proud of just how spoiled she was being right now but seldom was it that Llorona ever regretted a decision before she'd actually done it. One moment she was raising her hand, however, and the next she was standing with her arms crossed over her chest, teeth chattering and breath hanging in the air temporarily. The Kabuto's attack had missed her, but even the close proximity had left her entire form shivering and her hair, which had still been wet from the beach, more than a bit frosted over. "W-hat the h-ell was that for!?" She stammered, still shaking from the cold when the Kabuto was replaced. What happened next didn't exactly go over her head. It was basic science and she understood it... But that didn't mean it hadn't taken a few moments to process. Not only had Cyren knocked the bottle over with his throw, but she was fairly certain that when it did fall it shattered from the sheer cold. At that point she had two very simple options, she could continue to sulk and rant at Cyren for... Well, pick a reason. Or... "We did~! Good game, give me my Ponyta~!" The look on the employee's face while he held the ball close to himself reluctantly did not stop Llorona Braithwaite who quite literally slipped over the counter and seemingly tried to and wrestle the ball from him. In the end, he gave up the Pokeball after looking past her at Cyren. Maybe her brother had given him a look, maybe he had just given up of his own accord, but once she had the ball she turned back towards all of the group of Pokemon and her brother, holding the shiny red and white device above her head victoriously and beaming with an almost child-like joy. She hated that he had won the game for her. But he HAD won the game for her. "Good job~! You completed step one - win your date a prize~!" Was this part of her 'master' plan? absolutely not! But if she could even pretend for a second that everything had been intentional it would make her feel better and stop Cyren's head from getting so big it exploded. Deadeye watched Cyren intently when he stepped up to the plate so to speak. The man was a genius! Not only had he made the entire ordeal with Yami look like an accident (which he still felt bad for, the poor kabuto seemed so distressed), but he used it to his advantage. Normally Deadeye didn't like cheating, but like a Pokemon he had once known said - you fight fire with fire! Or maybe it was water? Hard to remember. When the last bottle fell and Llorona claimed her prize, the Rowlet squawked in approval in spite of himself. Whatever was in it was already making his trainer happy and he didn't even know what Pokemon it was. "She'll probably love it right away... I'm gonna get ignored longer." He was happy that Cyren had made Llorona so happy, but it was definitely going to come at a cost to the small grass-type. Instead of focusing on that, Deadeye turned to Rhea and bobbed his head up and down a few times, chittering on while she touched Cyren's neck. "Your trainer is so smart and nice! He won the present for my human!"Elfy Trainer Encounter: 42/25 Wild Encounter: 53/5 Item Posting: Scop lens (18/20) Inventory:- Pokedex, Specific lure, Mystic stone, Travel egg - not equipped yet, Pokeballs X, Potions X (holiday posting x2) {Spoiler} Rowlet - Deadeye - Male - Lv. 12 HP- 90 exp:9/22 Ability: Long Reach- Will never make physical contact with an opponent Tackle- 20 Astonish - 20 3/10 chance of flinching Leafage- 30 Peck-25 Stumpy - Bonsly - Female Lv.8 HP - 50 exp: 12/19 Ability: Sturdy - This Pokemon will be left with 1 HP when taking enough damage for a one hit knock out Fake tears - Lowers target's special defense by two stages Copycat - Copies foe's last move low kick - Damage varies Whiskers - Rattata - Male Lv.8 HP-50 exp:10/19 Ability: Hustle -Physical attacks will do x1.5 raw damage, but lowers the accuracy of physical attacks to 1/5 (type effectiveness not included). 1/2 chance of finding highest level Pokemon in an area if this Pokemon if first in your active party. Cyren Braithwaite 'And so the game continues.' He thought to himself with a small sigh. At least she didn't look like she wanted to take his head off as much as she had previously and she had gotten a new Pokemon out of...whatever you wanted to call the mess of a game they had just played. He just wished she hadn't decided to wrestle the employee to retrieve her prize. The commotion was drawing quite the crowd. He held his hands up and shrugged helplessly. "Nothing to see here. Just the end result of a particularly moody Kabuto taking offense to...literally everything in the area." When his attempts to dismiss the onlookers failed he gathered up his sister and their Pokemon and led them in the first direction that appeared to be away from everyone else. Once they were away from the crowd he slowed to a stop, checking to make sure each of their Pokemon had been able to keep up with them. "That was only step one? Are the rest of them going to be as chaotic?" He asked, tilting his head curiously. He couldn't imagine how awkward it must have been for the people that had taken his sister out on actual dates if this was how they played out. Still- there was a contest to win. "What's next then?" He smiled and folded his hands behind his back, waiting patiently to be led to whatever step two happened to be. There was no rush if she wanted to check out her new Pokemon before moving on. Stopping to rest was a viable option as well. They had all night to work their way through the rest of the pier.
"It's okay, Deadeye! You got me to love you~!" The Litten meowed up at her friend. Llorona didn't have to love Deadeye. She could do that for her! He was a good bird and he needed to be snuggled. Snuggles were very important! "Do you want to come sit in here with me? It's really comfy!" She offered, trying to make room in the hood for the Rowlet. If he wanted to he could rest against her. She wouldn't mind at all. It would give her a chance to pet her Rowlet friend until he had cheered up some. "Cy is a good boy!" She meowed at the mention of her trainer, reaching up to pat him again. He was a very well behaved human and just as nice. She was lucky to have such a good trainer. She wished the same could be said for Deadeye's trainer. It made her sad that Llorona never seemed to want to acknowledge the poor Grass Type. He was only trying to be a good Pokemon for her! Llorona BraithwaiteLlorona continued to wield her prize even while the crowd began to thicken. She was no stranger to drawing attention - usually the bad kind but sporting events she had taken part in had also drawn their fair share of spectators! "Yay~! Everyone come play this game! the guy is basically giving away free Pokemon~!" She sang, even up to the point where her brother was obviously not fond of the crowd and began to drag her away from the onlookers. As she was torn from the booth, Llorona blew a kiss to the very distraught looking employee who only hung his head. She continued to giggle on and off until they were away from both the game and the crowd, never taking her eyes off of the ball she held in her hand. Unlike most things, Llorona knew pretty much everything there was to know about Ponyta! They had flaming manes and tails that could keep you warm, but never burn you so long as the pokemon felt comfortable enough. Between that and their ability to carry riders, items, and even dress up in cute saddles, this was bound to forever be her favorite partner! "Hehe... Huh? Erm, no! That guy was just being an asshole. The rest of this is gonna be smooth sailing Cy. We can grab some candy, maybe ride a few rides..." Llorona trailed off, reminiscing on some of her previous, real dates with boys she'd had in the past. As hard as it might have been to believe, Llorona hadn't had many boyfriends in her hometown. Any relationships she had in were nothing more than the whims of a girl bored with her life, and they seldom lasted longer than a few weeks. Boys in her own school knew better than to even bother with the Braithwaite so most of her attention also came from neighboring schools where as far as they were concerned, she was just a cute face and a slim form. Turning the Pokeball over in her hand, the black haired younger sibling nearly forgot that she still had an unspoken contest to win, turning her emerald hues Cyren's way and smirking. "Ride a few rides.. you know, romantic stuff. You did a better job than most of the little boys I've had the displeasure of dating in the past, so who knows? Maybe you can make it through to the end of the night if you keep on impressing me." She considered going straight to cringy for the sole fact that it just might throw Cyren off enough to ruin the night completely for the male. Buuuut he had won her a Ponyta, so she only winked at him instead, tossing the ball up and down a few times before eying the other Pokemon present and tossing the captured creature free. "C'mon out Ponyta~!" She practically sang, watching the creature burst free from its ball and begin to look around in a very confused fashion... A fashion matched only by Llorona when she had to hunch over and press her palms to her knees to maintain level contact with the very, very small Pokemon. "Oh....kay..." She muttered, looking around both sides of the Ponyta as if expecting there to be more somewhere. Once it became apparent that she had been completely duped, the woman hung her head and sighed. She should have gone to cringy. Deadeye tried to laugh when Rhea complimented him. He loved the litten a whole lot too but had already embarrassed himself enough for one day. Plus the more he looked at Llorona the more he was reminded of how hard he had tried to get her to like him. On the offer to join her, the Rowlet didn't wait, attempting to comply and step carefully into Cyren's hood. The result was... Awkward. Cyren's hood was fairly large, easily big enough to fit Rhea or himself. The problem was the middle word, 'Or'. "Mehh, I think I'm stuck." He murmured, wriggling around on top of the Litten while he tried to settle his rounded form alongside her instead of awkwardly floundering about while he tried not to stick a foot into the Litten's face. In the end, Deadeye seemed to basically give up, his wings folding as tightly against him as they could get so at least the fire type could breathe while he was essentially stuck in position. One moment the Ponyta was eating grass in a field, the next he was sleeping in a ball. Now the poor thing stood somewhere that the air was salty and there was nothing to eat! On being released, the fire Pokemon shuffled about carefully, listening to his own hooves clop against the wood of the pier while he tried to understand exactly what it was that had happened. There were other Pokemon here, in fact, the entire crowd seemed very much expecting to see him? Among them were two humans, neither of which the Ponyta recognized as the man that had captured him. Had he been traded? His trainer hadn't even said goodbye - assuming you could call the chunky man a trainer at all. "Where am I?" He asked cautiously to the human that had hunched over and put her face much, much too close to his own. Did she seem to be studying him? This was nothing new to the Ponyta at all since humans really liked the way they looked. But this time was different. She didn't seem pleased at all about him for whatever reason. With a short snort, the Ponyta shook his head and the flames on his neck with it, spraying a few embers onto either side of it and watching the human fall back onto her rear. He didn't really need her to like him, but keeping her out of biting distance of his face was a must. "Do any of you speak? I demand to know where I am."Elfy Trainer Encounter: 43/25 Wild Encounter: 54/5 Item Posting: Scop lens (19/20) Inventory:- Pokedex, Specific lure, Mystic stone, Travel egg - not equipped yet, Pokeballs X, Potions X (holiday posting x2) Rowlet - Deadeye - Male - Lv. 12 HP- 90 exp:11/22 Ability: Long Reach- Will never make physical contact with an opponent Tackle- 20 Astonish - 20 3/10 chance of flinching Leafage- 30 Peck-25 Ponyta- male Lv.5 hp -40 exp: 2/15 Ability: Flame Body - The opponent has a 3/10 chance of being Burned when using an attack that requires physical contact against this Pokémon. Cyren Braithwaite Cyren waited until Llorona was distracted by the Pokeball again to roll his eyes. If the game was anything to go off of then the rest of the night was going to be anything but smooth sailing. As much as he appreciated her optimism he knew better than to hope that maybe something horribly awkward wouldn't happen before the night was out. 'Horribly awkward describes this whole thing pretty well.' He thought to himself before the sound of a Pokemon being released from a Pokeball got his attention. He wasn't sure what he had expected of the Ponyta but...that certainly wasn't it. "Is it...supposed to be that small?" He asked as he retrieved his Pokedex, looking up the entry on Ponyta as soon as he had it out. "I don't think it wants you that close to it." Cyren commented when he saw the Ponyta force her away from itself and right on to her rear. "Huh. It looks like it's average height. Weird. I could have sworn these things were bigger." After putting away his Pokedex Cyren helped Llorona up off the ground and looked her over to make sure she hadn't managed to hurt herself in the fall. "Give it a chance to get used to you before you try to get close again. He doesn't look too thrilled with where he is at the moment." Which was completely understandable considering one of the first things it saw upon being released from its Pokeball was its new trainer staring it down like there was something wrong with it. Any Pokemon would be upset in a situation like that. "Try not to worry. You'll be okay with us." He tried to reassure the Ponyta, though he did not reach out to pet he like he would when comforting one of the other Pokemon. This one needed space.
"Hi. You're on a pier in...whatever this human city is." Mars responded to the Ponyta shortly, clearly put off by his tone. This one was way too full of himself. He didn't bother to engage in any conversation beyond that. Answering the question had been bad enough. Rhea, on the other hand, was hell bent on trying to at least look at the Ponyta. She wanted to say hi to him! "Let's see here...I think I got this." She carefully tried to lift Deadeye up as she shifted positions, not wanting to accidentally knock him out of their comfortable hiding spot. The Litten did not succeed in moving either of them very far but she did manage to get them into a less awkward position. She was able to lay against the Rowlet, beginning to purr softly when she decided she liked where she was too much to continue moving. Deadeye was soft and warm. She yawned, nuzzling his feathers gently before closing her eyes. Sleeping was out of the question but she could rest for a little bit! Saying hello to the new Pokemon could wait until later.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 43/25 Wild Encounter: 43/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 19/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs. Llorona Braithwaite "It definitely is NOT supposed to be this small. I've ridden Ponyta before! Is this one like.. a baby?" She asked, rubbing her lower back and whining. Of course, this wasn't going to be her majestic stallion! Llorona should have known better from the start. Braithwaite's were cunning, intelligent, and suave... Luck was not something her family tree possessed. She looked up at Cyren who had never looked larger in his life from where she sat, listening to the male explain that apparently, they had both been completely wrong about the size of Ponyta in general. "...Okay. I mean, maybe I had been a lot younger when I last road a Ponyta. That's on me. But it'll still evolve eventually, right?" She asked Cyren with a hopeful tone. Ponyta might be small but Rapidash were huge! Then it could carry all of her things and still have room for the woman herself. In spite of how the Pokemon was acting, Llorona did not seem all that disheartened in regards to the creature, pushing herself to her feet and reaching over to snatch the towel that had hung from her waist up until a moment ago. "Yeah, yeah - love and respect and all that. I'll let the little monster stretch his legs out for a bit. If it doesn't get exersice it won't evolve now will it?" Surprising even herself, Llorona was only vaguely aware that she was essentially accepting her first real challenge as a trainer. If the Pokemon didn't like her right now, that was fine - eventually, it would come around and when it did she would be sure to train it rigorously until it became the creature she'd envisioned it to be. After she hung the towel around her neck and brushed some sand off of her bathing suit bottom, Llorona smirked at Cyren and remembered her current task, taking his hand once again and tugging him along. Between her brother and the cast of Pokemon following them, she was certain the Ponyta would join them. Otherwise, it would be lost among a crowd of additional strangers. She was definitely willing to take that with - "I got it! Sunset Shimmer! Best one yet!" The female giggled, providing nearly zero context to her statement while she glanced back at the little pony and winked. "Neat." The Ponyta responded flatly, though whether this was in response to the Rockruff's assessment of where he was, or the trainer who had apparently just tried to name him remained to be seen. As far as he was concerned it was a terrible name, but the Ponyta couldn't exactly voice that in the way he wanted to his trainer. Scraping his hooves against the pier a few times caused the Sunset to neigh in an acceptable fashion. The pier didn't have the grip for running but it was comfortable enough to walk on for the moment. Eventually, he assumed the humans would leave the pier - they did not look like they worked here so it stood to reason they were tourists, maybe even trainer! His flaming tail whipped about in excitement at the thought of being able to do battle. His previous trainer had never let him out except to eat or occasionally impress children. When the humans and the remaining group of Pokemon started off back into the crowd, the fire-type frowned as best its face allowed - setting into step behind them for no other reason than because he didn't exactly know where he was. Besides, there was something moving in the clothing of the larger human who had spoken to him previously that caught his eye. "What in the world is that?" He asked cautiously, his eyes never leaving Cyren's hood. "Mehh! Rhea don't move around so m- Oh. Never mind, that is much better!" Deadeye mused once the Litten's purring began and she was resting on his belly. She was too cute! The light purring and nuzzling caused the Rowlet to yawn comfortably in response, unfolding his wings and wrapping them around the fire type as best he could to hold her. It seemed the tighter he did so, the better the feline's soft vibration felt. "I could definitely sleep like this..." He yawned yet again, letting his eyes drop closed for a few moments. They would find something fun to do soon for sure, but a little rest before then couldn't hurt, right? JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE They paced inconspicuously along the pier, pretending to take interest in games or rides, but never stopping long enough to participate in anything themselves. What they were really doing was playing the waiting game. They had to pass off just enough time for their plan to be put into action. They stopped to watch a ride as it took off from it's starting point, performing a loop or two and disappearing into the maze of metal track, and in that time Jasper realized that Lucky was staring in quite the opposite direction. That was not quite to plan, so he looked in the same direction to figure out what had caught his attention so fully. There stood a boy and girl, and he instantly understood - she really was just Lucky's type.
Crook, criminal, asshole-extraordinaire, many words could be used to describe Jasper Cole. One word that could not be used was disloyal to his gang. They had stuck by him, and he would stick by them, and if possible play the role of wingman. Then he spotted the dark-haired girl grabbing the hand of the guy. Granted, that wasn't really a deal breaker. Perhaps they could invite the pair of them along, and then something could 'happen' to the guy leaving her in a state where she'd need comfort and a new shoulder to cry on/hand to hold.
He let out his Litten, who looked around in surprise. It had been quite some time since Litten had been out and about, but the pier wasn't too different from the Festival it could last remember. Here too were bright lights, loud sounds, and smells of unhealthy-yet-delicious foods. Then he looked up to his Trainer, who nodded in the direction of their marks. Litten followed his line of sight and trotted over, ignoring the Pokemon and allowing himself to get beneath her feet and hopefully trip her up. Once this had happened, Litten would really lay it on thick yowling and moaning in pain. It would surely have looked like an accident, whether it actually was or not. Wearing - Default outfit. Llorona BraithwaiteHolding onto Cyren was a strange experience for Llorona. Family aside, she had never taken a date, fake or otherwise with anyone quite as big as her brother. It was almost embarrassingly nice if she was being honest with herself. Most of the boys she had ever hung around were her height, maybe a bit bigger - but nearly always lanky. Of course, Llorona was never going to share that bit of information with Cyren, distracting herself with all of the different food stands. "What do you feel like for a snack? They've got cotton candy it looks like." She removed one of her arms from Cyren and took to pointing at the one stand that seemed to have the typical, sugary treats that she was used to. Regrettably, Llorona removed her arm at the exact wrong time, or the perfect time depending on who you were - the small fire type pokemon zipping between her legs much to the chagrin of her own Pokemon. Cursing aloud, the younger Braithwaite tried to keep her balance after coming into contact with the poor, small creature, arms flailing about while she stumbled forward and narrowly managed to catch herself on one of the stools fitted for a pier game before she could fall entirely flat onto her face. "What the hell Rhea?!" She snapped instantly, her knee being much less lucky than her face had been. It was quite obvious at that point that the litten who had caused the accident was not Cyren's at all - though it still took the black haired girl a few moments to process given that she was wiping the small bit of blood from her sc... With her brand new towel no less! "Damn this hurts." She continued on under her breath for several moments, staring first at the small pokemon who had sent her stumbling, and then to Cyren and the very bulged hood he still wore. "Whose Litten is that?" After standing, Llorona began to look around with a most irritated expression coming over her. The Pokemon being hurt as a result of their collision hadn't quite crossed her mind - but finding someone to yell at for not keeping their partners in check certainly was. Of all of the Pokemon with Llorona, the two possibly least expected to care about the potential injury were the first to come and inspect her. Granted, Deadeye immediately woke from his light daydream when he heard his trainer going on about something - she was always on about something! But he couldn't exactly move with Rhea laying on him either. "Are you okay human?" The Ponyta and Poliwag seemed to manage at nearly the exact same time, the much too tiny horse standing before his new trainer before she had even recovered. His foot stomped the ground impatiently a few times before turning his attention to the little feline that had caused the mess. "Are you blind? Do you not know how to watch where you walk?" Sunset snorted, his foot still clomping against the ground when he realized that the litten he was talking to didn't exactly seem okay after being potentially stepped on. "Ll-o-na. Are you okay?" Unlike her Fire-type counterpart, Poliwag was much less interested in what had caused the incident and much more concerned with the actual state of her trainer. She jumped up and down a few times to get the black haired woman's attention even while her own eyes drifted down to the small cuts on Llorona's leg. They didn't look anything near as bad as Cyren's back but they were red. She was clearly hurt. The small water Pokemon couldn't help the few bubbles that nervously escaped when her human stood, her tail slapping the ground in worry. She didn't want to see anything bad happen to her human! Cyren Braithwaite Cyren wasn't particularly interested in the different food stands so he had decided to leave it up to Llorona to choose where to go next. He wasn't picky. So long as it was at least vaguely edible looking he could probably deal with it...unless it was cotton candy. Cotton Candy didn't even fall under "vaguely edible" for him. He was content to left Llorona get a snack for herself and focus on finding something for their Pokemon right up until she fell. The Litten was definitely not his Rhea, though the poor kitty was accused immediately anyway. At least Llorona realized that it was a different Litten after a few moments. He reached back behind himself, pulling the half asleep Litten from his hood by the scruff of her neck. She wiggled in his grip for a moment before she realized what it was that had woken her back up. Then she began to purr. "Sorry, little one. Could you help me with something?" He asked as he set her down, gesturing towards the "injured" Litten. "Can you make sure it's okay while I check on Llorona?" Rhea meowed at him before running over to check on the yowling Litten. "Are you okay, sis?" He knelt down in front of her, taking the towel from her and carefully cleaning the sc up a bit. It didn't look took bad. Sc aside she looked like she had managed to escape the fall relatively unharmed. "Doesn't look too bad. Nothing you can't walk on at any rate." He handed the towel back to her after confirming she was fine. He hoped she would at least try to be civil with the Litten's trainer. It wasn't like it had tripped her up on purpose.
"Hammin' it up a bit there, ain't ya?" Mars glanced at the yowling Litten before rolling his eyes. The thing looked like it was unharmed. It was clearly just yelling to yell. That didn't stop Rhea from going over to try to comfort it. "E-excuse me! Are you okay? You're making an awful lot of noise." She frowned at the other Litten, reaching out a little paw and patting his head gently. He must be really hurt if he was making that much noise. "It's gonna be okay! We'll find your trainer and you'll be patched up in no time!" She meowed, continuing to pet the other Litten in an attempt to comfort him. His trainer had to be around there somewhere. "Can you see his trainer?" She asked the Ponyta. He was taller than she was so she assumed he would be able to see more than she could. "Hey, what does your trainer look like? Maybe we can find them!" She tried her best to sound reassuring. If they couldn't find his trainer then they could always fix him up themselves. "How's it doing, Rhea?" Cyren had come over to check on the other Litten as well after making sure Llorona was okay. "He doesn't look hurt." He assumed the Pokemon was yowling because it was frightened then. "Let's give him some space. After he calms down we can figure out who he belongs to."SorukaNyoki gravity_resistant Trainer Encounter: 44/25 Wild Encounter: 44/5 Item Posting: Cleanse Tag 20/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x, Specific Lure, Mystic Stone, Vs.
